The Mandalorian Bloodline - led by Bo-Katan Kryze - is one of the more powerful stables in all of ABW. Not only do they have wrestlers in all sides of the company, they’ve maintained a high level of dominance. Even with the occasional losses - like the loss they faced against the Force Lads (Anakin and Obi-Wan) from last week - they always manage to reassert their standing in the company.

But now, Darth Maul has had enough. During this episode of NXTB, Maul has called out the Mandalorian Bloodline, hoping to embarrass them. Paz Vizsla, Koska Reeves, and Axe Woves have answered Maul’s callout, leading to the unnamed commissioner scheduling a six-man tag team match as the main event.

Maul, who doesn’t have a tag partner, then introduced the two people who’ve decided to help him out…

7. Polyamory or Monogamy?

Most of the time, monogamy. I can barely wrap my head around how that works as it is.

That said, there have been more than a few times I've looked at characters and thought they aren't a polycule...but could be, very easily. Especially in those cases where a "love triangle oh noes!" situation really makes no sense. And I have a few poly characters in my own original drafts, though I don't delve too deeply into the specifics (at least not yet).

On July 30, 1866, during the turbulent Reconstruction era after the Civil War, white resistance to African American citizenship turns violent in New Orleans when a white mob kills dozens of African Americans gathering to support a political meeting.

The New Orleans Massacre, also called the New Orleans Riot, happened at the New Orleans Mechanics Institute, where 25 state delegates were reconvening the 1864 Louisiana Constitutional Convention. The state’s new constitution already had abolished slavery, but the state legislature passed laws limiting the rights of people freed from slavery. The Radical Republicans wanted to redo the constitution so that freedmen would gain voting rights. Another aim was to eliminate the Black Codes and disenfranchise former Confederates.

Two of New Orleans’ main leaders—Mayor John T. Monroe, a Confederate sympathizer, and Sheriff Harry T. Hays, a former Confederate general—strongly opposed the new constitutional convention. After a political rally on July 27, Hays gathered a posse of white officers, mostly ex-Confederates, to disrupt the convention, which began at noon on July 30.

As the delegates filed into the building, a crowd of protesters gathered outside the Mechanics Institute. Meanwhile, about 200 unarmed Black people, mostly Union veterans, approached the building in a parade form to show support. As they approached the building, bystanders harassed the marchers and isolated scuffles broke out.

When Hays and his men arrived on the scene, things turned deadly. Officers fired into the crowd, and while some marchers fled into the Mechanics Institute, many others were massacred there on the street. Accounts of casualties vary, but a National Park Service article reports that 34 African Americans were killed and 119 were wounded; three of the white delegates were killed and 17 were wounded.

U.S. General Absalom Baird, whose role was maintaining order and suppressing violence in the region during Reconstruction, wired Secretary of War Edwin Stanton that afternoon with this report: “Immediately after this riot assumed a serious character, the police, aided by the citizens, became the assailants, and from the evidence I am forced to believe, exercised great brutality in making their arrests. Finally, they attacked Convention Hall and a protracted struggle ensued. The people inside the hall gave up some who surrendered, and were attacked afterward and brutally treated.”

General Philip Sheridan, reporting to the War Department, said that delegates and peaceful supporters got hit “with fire-arms, guns and knives, in a manner so unnecessary and atrocious as to compel me to say that it was murder.”

“It was no riot,” Sheridan said. “It was an absolute massacre by the police … without the shadow of a necessity.”

The tragedy in New Orleans and previously in Memphis—where a similar deadly riot happened in early May of 1866—led to major changes in the country’s Reconstruction policy. The Radical Republicans earned a majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the mid-term election of 1866. This helped to pass the 14th and 15th Amendments, which guaranteed citizenship to all people born or naturalized in the U.S.—including those freed from slavery—and gave African American men the right to vote.

So, I was clip watching 2.14 the other day and had a realisation. John seems so surprised that Earth is going along with the murder indictment. And I realised - they want him out of Babylon 5.

Think about it. In 2.08, Bester seems surprised at Sheridan's behaviour as he had been told John was 'sympathetic to the core'. In 2.11, Hague talks about how John's file paints him as a loyal jarhead - a soldier who would follow orders and piss off the Minbari. 2.14 is set in the August of 2259. In eight months, John has challenged Earth diplomatic policy, the Core, and been on a dinner date with the Minbari Ambassador (and you are not telling me that that wasn't reported back to Clark). By this point, its pretty clear that John isn't their man. So of course they'll let the indictman stand.

What do they have to lose? They get a new commander of B5 - someone loyal to their ideals. If he's found guilty, it will stoke xenophobic fires back home about the war hero John Sheridan facing Minbari justice. If he's found innocent, it might be enough to indoctrinate John into their way of thinking.

But, as always, Earth made one fatal mistake: they underestimated Delenn of Mir.

Favorite childhood book: Hm, difficult question, I read a lot of books as a kid, but I don't really remember any of them. The one that has stuck with me was a Dutch YA book called Oorlogsjaren (Years of war) by Paul Kustermans. It's set in the first World War and follows a Flemish family as they try to survive the war while their son joins the Belgian army. It's gut-wrenching and heartbreaking and that's probably why it stuck with me so much.

I can’t stop thinking about sheridans investigation into Chris. Would they really dig that hard to find info on a dead guy who’s body disappeared? Or would they be stoked at the lack of paperwork it requires “John doe, missing.” And you’re done. She is using a lot of resources to find an undocumented dude, and like people without Id are super common. Idk why the girls didn’t just say “he showed up at the club and needed a job and place to stay, we figured the lack of id was due to homelessness and wanted to help a guy in the community get back on his feet”.

that’s a good alibi and also explains why you named your kid after him, he was just some guy you wanted to help out cause that’s what you do for people. And that would also explain you being in other files, you could literally just be a do gooder helping around the community where you can. Piper is a local business owner they do shit like that all the time for publicity and good rep.

Federal Court Rejects Removal Request from ‘False Electors’ Defendant Facchinello

LANSING – Yesterday, the Honorable Robert J. Jonker of the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan Southern Division rejected the Notice of Removal of State Court Action to Federal Court filed by Amy Facchinello, 55, of Grand Blanc.

Facchinello, who is charged with eight felony counts stemming from the alleged False Electors scheme pertaining to the 2020 presidential election in Michigan, sought removal of her case to a federal court invoking federal officer jurisdiction in September. In his Opinion and Order, Judge Jonker concluded “Defendant Facchinello was not a federal officer…and did not act under a federal officer when taking part in the events that allegedly violated Michigan criminal law.” Judge Jonker also declared, “...presidential electors themselves are not federal officers. Moreover, Defendant Facchinello never became an actual presidential elector anyway."

“... even though electors perform a federal function, their authority derives from the States, not the federal government,” Judge Jonker later concluded. The prosecution of Facchinello was remanded back to the Ingham County District Court.

After the dismissal of charges against James Renner, 76, of Lansing, per a cooperation agreement, 15 defendants remain in the State prosecution. Each has pled not guilty to eight felony charges, and preliminary exams are scheduled for 12 defendants at the 54-A District Court in Ingham County before Judge Kristen Simmons, as follows:
