丑角/Pierro, The director. 

-> tolerance: 8/10, high.   -> habits: has an entire wine cellar in the zapolyarny palace and owns a vineyard southern of snezhnaya. one of his hobbies consist of wine-testing; he’s the kind of person to cleanse his palate with a small sip that he swooshes in his mouth, then swirls his glass to observe the coat, sniffs the wine, takes another sip- you get it. if you asked, he would recommend you a wine based on your taste. you want something sweet but not dry? try dessert wines. want something a little more on the bitter side? get yourself a malbec from argentina. 

he hates anything that isn’t wine. don’t even try to give him a beer, he’ll look down at you with the most vicious glare you’ll feel sorry for being born. 

队长 /Il Capitano, The first. 

-> tolerance: 10/10, very high.  -> habits: doesn’t see the point of drinking so he never has a glass in his hands from his own volition. if he’s drinking it’s either because some coworkers managed to get him to come out for drinks, because he caught one of his agents drinking on the job and decided to have a drink as well, or because you convinced him to drink with you. 

his drink of choice is literally just any hard liquor, he doesn’t really care for taste. everyone is under the impression that he can’t get drunk, but some people just take it as an invitation to try to get him shitfaced (it never works out). 

博士/Il Dottore, The second. 

-> tolerance: 3/10, very low.  -> habits: never drinks and doesn’t see the point in it anyways, because it’ll only hinder his cognitive functions (you tried convincing him that he can get different perspectives that way. you were swiftly rewarded with a flick on the forehead). on top of that, he just can’t really handle alcohol so why purposely leave himself vulnerable like that. he didn’t care enough to give himself a higher tolerance for it when he modified his body, apparently. would probably be the designated driver if he went out to a bar (if he were invited in the first place. if he accepted the invitation, second.) 

the kind of person to get weirdly tipsy after two white claws.

仆人/Arlecchino, The fourth. 

-> tolerance: 8/10, high.  -> habits: likes to unwind with a glass of wine in her office while overlooking a multitude of paperwork. never drinks enough to get tipsy, but she could if she were surrounded by the right company...? if she wanted to, she could probably enter a drinking competition and win, though. whatever that means 

has let some children of the house of the hearth try wine. finds the grimaces they pull after a sip very amusing 

公鸡/Pulcinella, The fifth. 

-> tolerance: 6/10, moderate.  -> habits: the kind of man to drink wine with his meals, but he won’t have more than one and a half—two if he’s feeling particularly pent up. his tolerance isn’t that good because of his weight, unsurprisingly.  he doesn’t get invited to go out for drinks because he always ends up indulging just a bit too much. he then acts like a disappointed dad to everyone in the vicinity.

0/10 don’t bring him to a bar unless you want to be scolded for breathing.

国崩/Scaramouche, The sixth. 

-> tolerance: 4/10, low.  -> habits: hates alcohol but is weirdly competitive when it comes to it, if he’s with the right people. sort of. although alcohol doesn’t affect him in the same way it does regular people, it still makes him feel gross enough to not want to be near it. if he had to pick a drink it would be something like an aperol spritz. he’d wait like thirty minutes before drinking it, letting the bubbles fizz out a bit. hates the “taste” of carbonation with a passion.

don’t even try to get him to try give him a beer, he’ll turn it into a molotov cocktail 

木偶/Sandrone, The seventh. 

-> tolerance: 4/10, low.  -> habits: similar to il dottore, she hates drinking because it impairs her genius mind, but she’ll go out if only to make fun of drunk people (it rarely ever happens anyways). if she’s stuck with a drink in her hands for some reason, she’ll make the dapper ruin guard that’s at her side dispose of it for her. 

will it literally throw it away or will it dispose of it in a less destructive way? don’t stick around to find out. 

淑女/La Signora, The eighth. 

-> tolerance: 8/10, high.  -> habits: similar to arlecchino, she enjoys a good red wine occasionally. the only difference is that she needs to have it while bathing in the most expensive bath salts accompanied by so many candles it would be a hazard for her lungs. the queen of being a diva, has perfected the art of swirling wine in a glass while listening to jazzy music. 

absolutely adores dandelion wine; she always buys crates upon crates despite the ridiculous import fees. has one from so long ago you’re surprised the bottle hasn’t disintegrated yet—the name Rostam is engraved into it. 

富人/Pantalone, The ninth. 

-> tolerance: 7/10, moderate.  -> habits: probably the only normal one out of the bunch (which says a lot). whenever he drinks he always ends up tipsy, and when he’s tipsy, that façade he wears crumbles at the speed of light. gone are the strained fake smiles for politeness’ sake, in are the loud, angry rants about annoying clients. he won’t stop until his voice starts straining from usage. 

his go-to drink is literally whatever expensive wine he can get his hands on; he’ll drink with pierro and analyze wines, on occasion. don’t join them, you’ll die of boredom. 

公子/Tartaglia, The eleventh. 

-> tolerance: 9/10, very high. Debatable.  -> habits: you wouldn’t believe that he can handle alcohol better than most people because every time he drinks, he always gets shitfaced. he’ll insist he’s just testing his limits and building a higher tolerance. don’t bring him out for drinks with il capitano, he’ll inhale 5 shots of fire water in a couple of minutes to “convince” the first that he’s strong. it never works. 

probably the best person to go to a bar with, if you manage to go on a day where he didn’t wake up with the urge to get so stupidly plastered that he’ll try to fight every single man in the building. don’t let him try to show off, there aren’t many bars left that haven’t banned him yet.

Thank you for asking :))) sorry for answering so late, I wasn’t in good headspace in the last few days.

I found it difficult to answer in English so i wrote it in Chinese and translated it into English.

我觉得小强这个角色最有意思的地方就是，这个角色大半的特点是由同人作者塑造出来的。不像幽灵和肥皂这些角色，���灵有他的个人漫画，肥皂更是贯穿了整个老三部曲，而小强在原作中没有说过一句话，更是连脸都没有，原作透露的信息屈指可数。这里我也数一下原作中一些关于小强的小细节：

这小子跳跃能力有点问题（笑）虽然叫小强但是两次重要的跳跃都失手了呢😂

肥皂日记里肥皂对比了小强和年轻的自己，提到小强也写日记

贫民窟逃亡的时候按检视武器他会自己和自己玩石头剪刀布（好像是左手出布右手出剪子，他甚至会剪自己手（笑）

谢菲尔德拿走DSM的时候他抓住了谢菲尔德的手被甩开了

甚至后两点似乎是重制版才加上的，所以说小强是一个为了增加玩家代入感而几乎没有任何设定的角色，因此在同人创作时并没有什么ooc的说法，小强的同人作基本都是作者的hc，这也是我喜欢画小强的原因之一，不用想会不会ooc，因为这就是我心中的小强。不过小强的同人作也有很多相似之处，比如选择性缄默和蟑螂须。像选择性缄默这样的设定在现实中肯定是不可能存在于军队中的，但这是同人文，反而是一种很有趣的设定。实际上我一开始并没有注意到小强，我是在看幽灵的同人文的时候发现还有人写小强的，结果马上爱上了（笑）所以我会喜欢小强很大原因是因为优秀的同人作者。感觉有点跑题了哈哈，但是我很少思考这种问题，想到什么就写什么了

I think my favourite thing about Roach is that many of his traits are created by writers and artists in the fandom. He’s not like Ghost or Soap. Ghost has his backstory comics. And Soap? dude has a full character arc throughout the whole trilogy (and his diary). But Roach, our bug boi, didn’t speak a word in the game and doesn’t even have a face. aaaand here are some CANON details I know about Roach fyi:

this boy has problem with jumping lol

soap compares roach to his younger self and mentions roach also writes diaries in soap’s diary

when escaping favela, if you press inspect weapon, he plays rock-paper-scissors with himself (left hand is paper and right hand is scissors, he even cut paper with scissors

when shepherd takes the dsm, roach grabs shepherd’s arm but get thrown off

You can see that there are not many things we can tell from the game, even the last two were added in the remastered version. So I think most fanfics and fanarts are their creator’s headcanon, and that is really interesting. This is one of the reasons I like drawing Roach. I don't have to worry about whether it's out of character, because this is my version of Roach. And things like selective mutism and antennas? COOL!! Characteristics like selective mutism wouldn't realistically exist in a military setting, but in fanfic, it's an interesting concept. I didn’t pay much attention to Roach at first tbh, I discovered fanfics about him when I looked for Ghost fics and immediately fell in love with this little bug lol

So, one of the main reasons I love Roach is because of the talented content creators in the fandom. I feel like I've gone off on a tangent, haha, but I rarely think about these kinds of questions; I just write whatever comes to mind.

I'm dedicating this blog to the tanakh and talmud fandom. If you're here for my works of other fandoms and want to see more of that please go to @shiurkomaalt, i will put my future works there. I like angst, messed up things and doing character designs. I also love to torture my OCs. I might open an OC blog in the future.

What i mainly like within tanakh/talmud:

- Yehonatan/David

- most of the Bereshit cast

- The story of the four who entered the pardes

- Elisha Ben-Avuyah's many shinanigans and his colleagues. I got hooked after reading "as a driven leaf" but i don't stick to that depiction with fanarts

I haven't posted any talmud fanarts yet, or enough tanakh fanart for that matter. There's very little content right now so I'm mainly planning the content for this blog here. I'm busy studying so i don't think these content will come out anytime soon either. I will not post very often in general.

I learn about tanakh and talmud for purely recreational purposes. I make a lot of headcanons, but i limit myself to only make them based on stuff that i already researched on and have a basic level of understanding about. If you are proficient in torah or talmud studies you are welcome educate me.

This is my hobby and non of my works pose as serious interpretations of the original literature, all interpretation or conspiracy theory belongs in the "headcanon" category. From now on i will only tag my work with tags such as "the bible fandom" instead of "the bible" or "tanakh".

Please note, I interpret these stories through an agnostic lens and i play around with the characters like I would characters of any other fandom. So if you are religious this is probably not for you. I like gore, i like to make headcanons and most importantly i like shipping characters together. Seriously, nothing is holy here, for the sake of your sanity think twice before you decide to scroll down or sub.

My content is not suited for anyone under the age of 18. Not only because of the topics i like to explore are grim, but also because there will be NSFW content at some point.

Besides the demon kings mentioned as the sworn brothers of Wukong, and the father of Jade Faced Demon and Hu A'qi who are also mentioned as demon kings(?), what other mentions of demon kings are and which of these do the pilgrims kill?

I’m surprised you are not aware but MOST of not all the demons that the pilgrims fight are demons kings. We see that Wukong visited about 72 Demon Kings at the start and out of the 72, Wukong befriended 6 of them. A personal headcanon of mine is that there can only be 72 demons, no reason really just a good number, but that if a demon wishes to be the 'King' they must defeat the old one and take over. Such as Wukong taking down the Demon King of Havoc who was trying to take his territory and his subjects.

I have some messy headcanons

First I really need more stories about a 15-year-old adult taking care of three 1500-year-old children＼(`Δ’)／

Secondly I remember that there seems to be no explanation of how dashi died in the plot, Or affirm dashi's death, so if I continue to write xiaolin showdown, I will let one of xiaolin or Heylin use shengongwu to bring dashi to modern times.

I really appreciate the idea that Jack is Xiaolin Dragon of metal.

And I also appreciate the idea that Jermaine is Xiaolin Dragon of wood.

From my point of view, wuya is simply a ghost(怨灵), while chase is a demon monk(妖僧), and hannibal is a demon(妖精).

我们这边的仙侠类故事中，像chase这样的角色都是要渡劫的，他活的太久了，老天爷是不会允许这种事情发生的，所以就会降下天雷去劈他 。但Guan不需要，因为他是正宗的和尚，他能够长生不老应该是经过正经的修炼，而且老天爷还会保佑他

In China's Xian Xia(仙侠) story, a character like chase needs Du Jie(渡劫). He has lived too long, and God(老天爷) won't allow this to happen, so he will send down lightning to chop him. But guan doesn't need it, because he is an authentic monk, and he should gain immortality by practicing aboveboard, and God(老天爷) will bless him.

I hope there is really a story of chase Du Jie (渡劫) outside the drama, which will be very interesting.

It has been three whole years since you were spotted at any of the EJP’s game, with the very last appearance on any media was of your announcement of your pregnancy with Suna. You still remembered how frenzied the media was about this news; you were used to it, though, since every announcement you guys made created quite a stir. When they found out about your existence, about your engagement and wedding to Suna, your lover made sure you weren’t overwhelmed. 

With Suna becoming one of the top players in Japan since young, you knew what you were getting yourself into when you got into a serious relationship with him. In High School, the two of you do post each other’s faces but as he slowly gained fame and media presence, both of you decided to be smart and become more private. Of course, Suna saved all the images before deactivating his previous accounts. But you knew Suna was an online type of guy, so after creating new accounts, he still continued to post snippets of his private life. He wanted to show off, still. Aside from his friends and volleyball, fans could see a portion of your hand on his post or stories, the things you gave him and etcetera. It wasn’t because either of you were afraid of his fans or whatever, but more so for your safety.

After seeing such considerate gestures, you could only fall in love with him even more every day and made sure you supported him in any way. You remembered how Suna commented that he would love to have you and your son attend one of his game, but he could see how tired you were every day whilst looking after Rinri and working at home. He decided to drop the subject after only mentioning it once or twice, not wanting you to feel guilty about not coming to his games for so long. You, on the other hand, had actually planned to watch after making sure Rinri was actually ready to come to such a large crowd where adrenaline and noise level were at its peak and that day had finally come.

The big season has arrived.

You felt a soft kiss pressed against your cheek, followed by a hot breath and a deep chuckle, and then yet another kiss on your forehead. Stirring awake from your slumber upon the touches, you fluttered your eyes opened and saw a soft grin on Suna’s face. “Good morning, doll face,” your husband greeted, kissing your eyelids this time, “still looking as pretty as always.”

You lifted your arms and wrapped it around his neck, pulling him into your nape and nodded, hiding the tiny blush from your cheeks, “good morning to you too, darling. Good luck for your game today. Show them why you are the best middle blocker in the whole wide world.”

“Of course,” Suna then kissed your bosom before pushing himself up reluctantly, knowing he had to leave. “When I get back, I want to sleep on your boobs. And tell Rinri that I love him too, ya?”

“He knows,” you murmured back with your morning voice as you languidly propped yourself up with your elbow, causing your straps to fall off your shoulders, “but I’ll tell the lil pumpkin that.” Suna smiled and adjusted your clothing before leaning his face towards you, wanting a kiss. You brushed your lips against his cheek whilst massaging the other side. “And please, you literally pressed your nose into my breasts last night without asking. Suddenly you are being polite and asked?”

“Oi, you told me to be nicer to you. Guess I’ll just retract my promise,” Suna rolled his eyes.

“You won’t!” You gasped but Suna said nothing more and offered a cheeky smirk before driving to his morning practice. Since it was only 8 am, and the official match doesn’t start until in the afternoon, you slowly pulled yourself out of bed to prepare without any rush. You’ve worked so hard to keep everything a secret without Suna expecting anything of this surprise visit to his games, there’s no way you were going to ruin anything right now.

“Baby? Are you up?” You sang softly and peeped into your son’s room, and saw him already crawling down his bed with his Vabo-chan, his soft brunette hair all messy and sticking out. You can’t help but laughed whilst your child’s tiny legs ran up to you, hugging yours as he blabbered out his morning greetings and his ‘I wuv (love) yous’.

Bending down, you then carried Rinri in your arms and rubbed your face against his chest, tickling him and elicited bright giggles from him. “Good morning, munchkin, I love you too. Papa said that he loves you very much as well. So, want to get some yummies?”

“Yummies!!” Rinri cheered, accidentally letting go of his toy. You reacted quickly, catching his toy with one hand. With a sigh, you now wonder how you were going to manage once you were at the stadium. By the time noon hits, you had already wash up, eaten breakfast, or how Rinri loved to say it, ‘yummies’, and packed your child’s day pack.

Seated on the couch was Rinri with his little day pack, looking through if he was missing anything. Vabo-chan? Check. His favourite yogurt pouches? Check. Yeah, the important stuff were all packed. “Momma! I want to see Dada!”

As if on cue, you received a text from Suna. 

“the game’s starting in 1.5 hours' time. Wish us luck, babe! ♡” - Rin

“love you babe! Good luck! ♡” - you

“wish you guys are here tho :(” - Rin

“but i know you don’t want riri to get scared so is okay ♡” - Rin

“my dear rin, just know that we will always be cheering for you no matter where we are! (⋆ˆ ³ ˆ)♥” - you

“i know. well, gotta go now, pretty! watch me!” - Rin

You emerged from the kitchen, a bemused smile rested upon your lips. “Excited, are we, munchkin? Come on, let’s get you dressed, and we can get going.” Hearing so, Rinri reached out to you with grabbing hands and sparkles in his crystal orbs. 

You put on a mini EJP Raijin no.9 jersey and denim jeans on Rinri, making sure he had sunblock on as well, before promptly changing into your own outfit. Opting for a white satin camisole and a high waist skinny jeans, you finished your outfit in a pair of sneakers. With everything settled, you two stepped out of the house.

When you reached the stadium, you went through the normal procedures to enter — you made sure to get front row seats with the best angle to watch Suna’s play. There were news media and sports journalists who immediately recognized you, and soon a commotion formed around your section. No one approached you, of course, and you were grateful for it, since you just wanted to focus on your son and the game.

You kept Rinri secured as you two watched EJP Raijin entered the stadium. Your son’s energy immediately shot up and yelled, pointing at his father with Vabo-chan. “It’s Dada!!”

You laughed and nodded, “yes, papa is going to play.”

Rinri’s excitement might have been too contagious, as the surrounding crowd began to cheer for EJP Raijin’s middle blocker. 

Cameras soon panned over to you, showing your beautiful face and Rinri’s adorable enthusiasm on the arena’s jumbotron. The commentators let out the classic teasing exhaled, gaining many’s attention to the screen.

“Ahhhhhhh, would you look at that? If it isn’t EJP Raijin’s Suna Rintarou’s family?” One said as the cameras zoomed into you. It has been so long since the crowd saw the Suna [y/n], the supportive partner of Rintarou. He has always mentioned your name and his gratitude to you during your physical absence from the crowd in the last three years, and your sudden appearance now was a pleasant treat.

Hearing his name and ‘family’, Suna thought it was his parents and younger sister again, but when he looked up, he saw your beautiful self and shock painted his face before fondness oozed from them. His teammates nudged at him, calling him out for being such a whipped husband now, only for the middle blocker to retort back at all of his single teammates before turning back to the screen again. Man couldn’t take his eyes off of you two.

You looked up from your son to the large screen and saw yourself. Of course, you smiled charmingly and winked into the camera, gaining an even bigger fanbase in the process. You already knew how popular you were as Suna’s lover, so you weren’t one to shy away, despite how crazy the media could get. That was one of many reasons why Suna loved about you. 

“There it is, ladies and gentlemen! Suna [y/n] bringing her amazing fan service!” Another commentator joked, being the first one to comment on your very first fan service years ago as well.

Seeing his mother on screen, Rinri burst into giggles and pointed at you. “Momma, it’s you!”

“Yes bumblebee, it’s me,” you nuzzled your nose against your son’s cheeks, and this cute interaction was displayed to the entire arena and everyone cooed. The cameras then zoomed out slightly as one of their on-site reporters approached you. They gave you and your son proper greetings after you introduced your son to the nation. His adorableness easily captured everyone’s heart as he waved hello.

“I see your son is wearing the same jersey as Suna Rintarou! Are you going to say something to cheer for your dad?”

“Dada look, I wuv you!” Rinri said proudly and pointed at his jersey that you secretly bought, and the stadium melted at how cute he was. 

“Love you too, buddy!” Suna laughed. 

The large screen than switched over to show Suna’s doting smile before showing your face again.

The reporter asked if you have words for your lovely husband, and watched you smiled. “Rin, go out there and show ‘em how amazing my husband is!”

Suna pointed at you from below, his sly grin appeared and shouted loudly. “Watch me, pretty!”

You laughed, wondering when was the last time Suna showed so much energy for a game. Perhaps coming today was the right thing to do on your end. 

The game soon commenced, but somehow everyone could already predict the winner. With his family now in the arena to support him, Suna found himself even more focus. Despite being a slow starter, he was able to warm his engine faster than usual today. Rinri kept his gaze on his father the entire time, slowly leaning forward as he got absorbed into the game. You were silently cheering as well, and with every point scored by the team, especially by your husband, you clenched your fist in victory. 

The first set was an easy win by the Raijin team, and your son cheered loudly. Suna immediately turned towards where you and his son were at, and for the first time during a match, the middle blocker held out a peace sign with the happiest wide mouth smile on his face. 

The nation knew how much Suna Rintarou loved his wife and son, but that smile solidified and cemented that fact. Never once had this man ever showed so much bliss in public, but here he was, showing his soft side when multiple cameras were around.

You felt your heart leaped forward and face heating up. Suna was able to make your heart accelerate with the smallest of gesture since high school however no matter how many years had passed, your love life was still so, for lack of a better word, perfect.

“Go win this,” you mouthed and put out your own peace sign. Rinri mimicked you as gave his dad his own tiny peace sign and giggled. Once again, Komori and the rest snickered, asking if Rin was going to keep staring or was he going to play the next set.

And thus, the score was 3-1 with EJP Raijin emeging victorious. Both team exchanged their pleasantries and a handshake before going over to the crowd to thank them for their support. Suna looked up and saw that you weren’t at your seats, and before long he spotted Rinri running up to him excitedly, showing off his jersey that looked just like Suna’s.

“Why, hello there, buddy,” Suna greeted, swiping Rinri into his arms and lifting him up in the air. You soon waltzed over but you made sure to stay out of the way, knowing the victors deserved the spotlight right now. You apologised to the coach for your son but the man laughed it off, stating that he didn’t mind at all If anything, he should thanked you for this surprise since Suna played even better than his previous games.

“Baby,” Suna called out to you and you saw he had one arm opened for you. 

“Congrats on your win,” you went into his arm and gave a hug before turning to his team mates, greeting them, congratulating them as well. A few interviewers came up as the team headed to the side, some even managed to catch you in one interview too. It’s not like either you or Suna minded, and Rinri was comfortable in front of strangers. Of course, none of you were worried about having Rinri be exposed to the media since both of you were ready to protect this family by any means

In the beginning, he did try to keep you out of the media’s sight but after knowing you were more than capable of handling yourself, and knew how to keep yourself safe, and relying on him, Suna was more opened about posting you on his social media. But this was the first time anyone has ever seen his son and a part of him was worried.

Still, he did his best to answer the questions, and he was glad the media was respectful enough towards him to not focus on his family too much. They could tell he was protective about his family just based on his behaviour.

One of the interviewer smiled at Suna, asking him to make one last comment about his family. With a sly grin, he turned to the camera and called for you. It has been three years, and he wanted to do this for so long now. The second you approached, Suna drapped his arm around your shoulder, patting your head. “I think I scored myself the perfect partner.”

Suna then dipped down and whispered into your ears. “Considered me seduced with that top of yours. Can’t wait till I fuck your brains out as my victory award. Better be prepared.”

“...Rin...!” You gasped, face coloured bright red. Rinri looked up at his parents, not understanding anything aside from the fact that his parents were very loving and in turn, that made him happy. The cameramen and reporters chuckled, saying how you two are still lovey dovey and to stay sweet before bidding your cute child good bye.

“Love, munchkin, wait for me. I’m gonna get change and we can go hang,” Suna said as he got pushed to get washed up and change by Washio and Komori.

I think I scored myself the perfect partner — those words echoed, causing you to blow up. Suna is a man of high libido, but it was his sweet words that always got you weak on your knees.

“Momma, are you sicky?” Rinri asked, a little worried about his mother’s face turning red.

“N-No, baby, I’m fine,” you assured, fanning yourself and heading off somewhere to wait for your beloved.

Trivia: — your son’s name is written 倫璃, meaning “Ethics [倫]” and “crystal [璃]” because Suna said his eyes are like crystals

and as a follow-up to my post on the country takigakure is in, which I decided to call monsoon country or land of monsoons, here’s a meta post on the general culture and composition of takigakure itself. 

as stated in the other headcanon, takigakure is canonically the only village outside of the 5 main villages (those being, of course, konohogakure, sunagakure, kirigakure, kumogakure, and iwagakure) to receive a tailed beast during the time of the first shinobi war. this act was done by hashirama senju in an attempt to provide a power balance between the strongest villages, which implies that takigakure, despite being in a smaller country and therefore with fewer resources and a smaller population, was in serious contention with the other great nations in terms of combat prowess. it was also stated in anime canon that takigakure has never been successfully invaded despite its smaller size. 

in my meta about the land of monsoons’ environment, I described the natural fortifications that made this possible. however, in this post, among other things, I will describe what cultural expectations set forth by the takigakure people themselves were and why they also heavily contributed to takigakure’s strength and persistence to this day. this also gives some insight to kakuzu’s past and all the many cultural things that went into his assassination attempt on hashirama senju as well as his subsequent imprisonment. 

takigakure apparently prides itself for producing strong ninjas as well as never having been invaded (according to the anime). coupled with the fact that the country itself is very small and presumably poorer compared to the other great nations, therefore, I assume the culture in takigakure is extremely militant and very strict. mind, it is not as bad as kirigakure got, especially the tradition of killing off fellow students upon graduation. this was partially because the takigakure never got that brutal, but also because they had a much smaller population and could not afford such traditions, anyway. in lieu of this, there were few civilians in takigakure; most citizens were shinobi and were encouraged to be shinobi since youth. 

in takigakure, failure was extremely frowned upon and often referred to as a “luxury”. it emphasized typical, stereotypical shinobi values: individuals were meant to be used as tools, and represent the village and should behave appropriately. those that brought back failed missions, commissions, or other bounties were appropriately reprimanded and punished. these punishments ranged from simply being relegated to D-rank missions for some period of time to full out exile and imprisonment depending on the severity. the latter was incredibly rare, and typically, more common punishments were cuts in pay, rations, or additional menial task work added to the person’s duties. demotions were also given out when appropriate. 

ultimately, however, what kept shinobi in takigakure from failing was the culture of high expectations. individuals from takigakure took their roles as shinobi seriously and often had high success and kill rates. that said, shinobi from takigakure were often under a lot of stress, and most could accurately be described as perfectionists. this stress about success, in particular, was due to the fact that takigakure was almost constantly concerned about being invaded and absorbed by one of the other great nations. during kakuzu’s time in takigakure, the village was incredibly sparse but emphasized most of its resources on military spending. by the naruto time period, however, during relative peace, takigakure had loosened its stringent policies somewhat. 

takigakure, ergo, lauded its strongest shinobi and held them in high regard particularly during its earlier years. they are considered true representatives of the village and of the country, and to become so respected, they likely embodied the most core shinobi values. kakuzu, during his time, was publicly acknowledged as one of the strongest takigakure shinobi for his earth spear prowess, as well as for his impressive work ethic, practical attitude, and serious personality and presence. he also fought during the last years of the Warring States Period, which also gave him combat credibility and gave him some authority as a veteran. 

while it would probably not be considered as such in the modern naruto time period, during kakuzu’s time, the order to be sent to kill hashirama senju was considered an honor. this mission not only acknowledged that the elders considered kakuzu strong enough a shinobi to carry out this mission (along with any others that were on it with him), but believed him a true enough shinobi to accept a widely accepted suicide mission. everyone in takigakure knew this would likely be a mission that kakuzu and any allies would not walk away from whole, but the perfect shinobi takes the most impossible mission no matter how bleak. the bestowing of this mission onto kakuzu, therefore, marked him as what was considered the height of shinobi excellence in takigakure. 

this is also why kakuzu was immediately ostracized upon returning to takigakure alive and having failed his mission. now, in my opinion, kakuzu would not have returned to takigakure willingly. my current working headcanon is that kakuzu was heavily wounded in his fight against hashirama, and hashirama, unwilling to kill a downed man, ordered him to be nursed back to relative health and sent back to takigakure to be dealt with there. now, in doing this, it’s assumed hashirama didn’t know the extent of takigakure’s policies---and that kakuzu was sent back forcibly, which I think would make the most sense; I seriously doubt that kakuzu would willingly want to go back to takigakure after such a horrendous failure---because it was considered a huge failure, and on top of it, kakuzu was scorned for being alive after the attempt. he was given the mission to complete or die trying, as is expected of any shinobi. returning alive---and nursed back to health by the enemy on top of it---was the height of dishonor. further, with this assassination attempt and subsequent return of kakuzu by konohagakure’s hand, the takigakure were at a disadvantageous political position against them; not only did they attempt to kill the hokage, but they were done a kindness in return, which meant any repeat attempts would, in their opinion, probably guarantee a full out war or pressure on trade routes, etc.

as a result, kakuzu was thrown into prison, stripped of his rank, and tattooed. the tattoos around his arms are reminiscent of those that were commonly used in the japanese edo period, if my reading is correct, to mark criminals. I’m pretty sure it’s widely accepted in the fandom, therefore, that kakuzu’s tattoos are for similar reasons, and most also agree he was given them in takigakure prison (whether or not this was confirmed in some data book or something, I don’t know). so, the fact that he was given them, along with the fact that he was pitied by the enemy (at least, by his interpretation; hashirama was probably really just trying to be being nice) and having to return alive and whole to face his village, was the height of kakuzu’s utter humiliation. he was degraded here; these tattoos were more akin to a branding, and totally ostracized him from his community---which was, of course, the point. this is just an example of the most severe form of punishment from the takigakure. of course, since kakuzu’s break from prison and the general nature of it, I doubt the takigakure tried to do something as harsh as that again. 

ultimately, takigakure strove to produce shinobi that were the very definition of what it meant to be a ninja: die for your village, be a weapon, and always complete the mission. because of the added pressure of being a very small country surrounded by greater ones, the takigakure in particular had stringent policies that all shinobi had to abide by. this was an effort to preserve the village’s territory, renown, and culture. but these days, takigakure is nowhere near as strict. while they still have high expectations for their shinobi, they do not have punishments as severe as this, and do not deny things such as food or other basic necessities for failure.

other fun facts of the village that are not directly related to the military culture: 

the village sits at the base of a large tree in the land of monsoons, but there are also homes in its very thick branches and in its canopies. treehouses are not uncommon in takigakure, and in fact sometimes provide good watchtower vantage points during wartime. 

takigakure’s prisons are below the ground, in the caverns that run alongside the waterfall that blocks the valley’s entrance and under the river that drops into. as a result, the prisons are damp and usually very cold---a stark contrast to the typical humidity of monsoon country. it was here kakuzu was imprisoned. 

the takigakure also hide some of their most prized possessions and forbidden technique in these caverns. only high-ranked shinobi know the layout of these caverns. otherwise, they are hard to navigate because of the darkness. this is where kakuzu stole the forbidden technique: earth grudge fear when he broke out. 

because of the general heat of the country, most shinobi uniforms from takigakure composed of sleeveless tops, shorts, or other light, breathable material that would not get damp too quickly. 

most monsoon country natives have water or earth-release affinities. 

like all hidden villages, takigakure ninjas have specialized techniques to suit their environment. almost, if not all, shinobi use chakra to repel the constant rain at all times, and many have mastered jutsus to completely disappear in the pouring rain. some of the most unique animal summons also come from the land of monsoons, and the takigakure shinobi probably have the most various and diverse types of summons of any country.

takigakure is not particularly advanced in medical ninjutsu, but has progressed far in medicines because of the vast variety of plant and animal life around it. their medicine to encourage longer life to reliving aches to just curing cold symptoms have grown to be one of their most lucrative exports. conversely, they also have knowledge of incredibly deadly poisons.

so many people act like if they insist their fics and headcanon are canon, their personal fantasy would have more legitimacy, it's so delusional, the characters are unrecognizable in these fics and headcanons.

There's a clear separation between the characters in the ship, and the readers. You're not the characters, you thirst as yourself. If you want the character, you can openly say it you desire him as yourself. It's actually more natural than whatever people are doing with self projection.

I was on a WeiNie video (NieWei to me personally, shige should top), people were just thirsting like "which one of you recorded my husband in bed last night?" (the video is clips of the male character panting). You could not write like this when you use character as self insert, because that would be wildly ooc for wei zhuang (the other guy in the ship) to say that. it's much more fun to thirst without projection and self insert. You have complete freedom. I cannot wrap my mind around why the majority of shippers find character insert so essential.

I wanted ask, maybe a few headcanons for the KinGin brothers? I have my own, but you are like the first Kumo orientated blog (and for once a person who doesn't hate them) and I'd love to heat3 yours, as you write such interesting HCs.~ Maybe HCs (before they became criminals) for their sexualities, what they'd like in a person and what would they do if they fell in love with someone? :D

I have a lot of headcanons for the Kingin bro's, especially in the context of Kumo's history but some of them still need fleshing out, so these are not all of my headcanons, just some of them.^^'

Clan History

First off, I'm all with A on this one. Ginkaku and Kinkaku are distantly related to the Sage of Six Paths.

Fun fact A: Kinkaku and Ginkaku are apparently based on the Golden Horned Demon King and the Silver Horned Demon King from Wu Cheng'en's Journey to the West. I went ahead and used that novel as a basis for some of my headcanons.

Back when the disciples of the Sage of Six Paths were still spreading the teaching's of Ninshū across the continent a minor side branch of the Ōtsutsuki clan settled in a remote part of the Land of Lightning's central mountain range. They built a compound on Flat Top Mountain (平頂山 heichōsan). As proper shinobi clans are few and far in between in the Land of Lightning, the last name Ōtsutsuki gradually fell out of use. However, people from the surrounding villages quickly took to referring to the mysterious newcomers as "Heichōsan no" in place of a proper last name. Over the generations the nickname got shortened to just "Heichō".

Along with the change in name, the Heichō started considering themlseves a proper clan, separate from the Ōtsutsuki but mindful to preserve awareness of their shared ancestry.

Fun Fact B: The character 角 (kaku) can mean "horn" or "horned".The horned headpieces are a reference to the Heichō's connection to the Ōtsutsuki clan and the horns many of Kaguya's descendents were born with. To this day, members of the Heichō clan have very prominent brow bones or slightly uneven foreheads.

The clan's insignia is a stylised lotus flower referencing the Lotus Cave where the first official clan head of the Heichō and consequently each of his successors had resided.

The Heichō used to be quite striking in appearance due to their unnatural pallor but their skin gradually darkened after generations of intermarriage with the locals.

Along with the daimyō's family, the Chinoike and the Yotsuki, the Heichō were one of the only clans big enough to be of political significance. Their influence increased after the Chinoike's banishment to the Land of Hot Water, however, their place in politics remained precarious as they were often at odds with the daimyō and the Yotsuki who traditionally aligned themselves with the daimyō.

When Kumo was founded, the Heichō gifted the Five Treasured Tools of the Sage to Kumo (and by extension the daimyō's family) as a show of good faith and to gain the other clan's trust.

Their influence continued to decline after the establishment of Kumo. The First Raikage had not come from any of the major clans but married into the daimyō's family via the daimyō's sister. The then clanhead of the Heichō had high hopes for Ginkaku and Kinkaku since they were two of Kumo's most powerful shinobi and Kinkaku a hot contender for the position of Second Raikage.

Officially, the Treasured Tools belonged to the village but as Kinkaku and Ginkaku were the only one's capable of using them and they were a powerful military asset, the Heichō still retained some modicum of control over the tools.

For political reasons and because the First Raikage came to disagree with Kinkaku's methods more and more, Kinkaku was passed over in favour of the First's bodyguard.

The Second Raikage was killed mere months after his inauguration during the coup d'état staged by the Heichō in a fight with Kinkaku and Ginkaku.

Despite the Second Raikage's death, the coup d'état ultimately failed. Many of the rebellious Heichō died fighting. Most of the remaining clan members were either imprisoned or banished. The Heichō who'd remained loyal to the Raikage were allowed to stay in the Land of Lightning but encouraged to abandon the name.

During the coup d'état, Kinkaku and Ginkaku succeeded in stealing back the Treasured Tools. Despite sending out tracking teams, the minute the theft was discovered, Kumo only managed to retrieve the Kohaku no Jōhei. The other tools remained lost even after the brothers' death until the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Personal

Kinkaku and Ginkaku were both exceedingly fond of food and drink, especially after successful missions.

Kinkaku has mild sensory abilities. They're enhanced when he's in Tailed Beast Mode.

Ginkaku is the brasher of the brothers but Kinkaku is the one ultimately calling the shots.

As children they used to be huge troublemakers. They frequently stole fruit at the market just to see if they could get away with it.

Kinkaku and Ginkaku first came in contact with Kakuzu via the black market. They weren't exactly friends but they frequently collaborated on bounty hunts, especially in the months leading up to the coup.

As for relationship headcanons, would it be a dick move to link you back to your own headcanons? I never really thought about the Kingin bros in a sexual context, but I pretty much agree with most of the points you made. I think they'd look for a tough SO who'll take no shit but who's on their side, ride-or-die. Ginkaku might be more prone to jealousy than Kinkaku and more likely to do dumb shit trying to impress someone, while Kinkaku's calmer and more on the rational side of things, but ridiculously stubborn about never ever letting someone he's interested in see his weak side. But tbh, I have a hard time imagining them with anybody at all. 'sides, whoever their SO may be, their SO will have to come to terms with the fact that both, Kinkaku and Ginkaku, will always put their brother first.

Akuma no Riddle characters’ name analysis

Hi everyone! So, I was doing some researches about the AnR characters' name, especially the kanjis, for my AnR kids headcanon. I discovered some interesting stuff so I wanted to make a post about the meaning of the characters' name and kanjis.

Azuma Tokaku (東 兎角): Azuma mean east and Tokaku is written with the kanji rabbit (兎, usagi) and horn (角, tsuno). Rabbit horn is an expression in Japanese that means impossible or something that shouldn't exist. Tokaku's grandmother gave her this name because according to her, Tokaku's strength would be so terrifying that her enemies would think it's impossible. That's also why Tokaku is sometimes referred as a rabbit.

Inukai Isuke (犬飼 伊介): Inukai means "dog keeper" (犬=dog, inu, 飼=keeper). I find it funny since people often portrait Isuke as a dog because of her name, but in fact, she's not the dog but its owner (which means the dog is a certain redhead...). Really the perfect name for someone who wants to be called with the honorific sama. I don't know much about the name Isuke, other than it's a male name and it's written with the kanji for "I" (伊) and “through” (介, kai).

Kaminaga Kouko (神長 香子): Kaminaga can mean chief and is written with the kanjis god (神, kami) and length (長, naga). The latter can also be read as chief. A perfect given name for the leader of everything, which also reminds of her past in a religious orphanage. Kouko is written with the kanji for incense (香, ka) and the kanji for child (子, ko). 香子 can also be read as Kaoriko, which means child's perfume. Maybe it's a symbolic for Kouko being trained as a child to be an assassin using bomb, since incense is something that needs to be burn, but at the same time, incense isn't dangerous and is even pleasant. Maybe it's linked to Kouko's desire to not be an assassin anymore.

Kirigaya Hitsugi (桐ヶ谷 柩): So, Kirigaya is written with the kanjis tung pill (桐, kiri), months (ヶ, ke) and valley (谷, tani). I've no idea what it's supposed to mean. Maybe a reference to poison? All I care is that there's "gay" in it...I'm so mature. Anyway, apparently, Hitsugi's sole kanji, 柩, means coffee. Coffee, a drug, which means...intoxication. Her names are all about toxine! It's a conspiracy! Okay no, I really got nothing other that for her name. Oh, there's another kanji that is also read Hitsugi, 棺, which means coffin. Really suspicious…Edit: "Kirigaya" can also mean "valley of paulownias". kiri meaning the latter word and gaya meaning valley.

Kenmochi Shiena (剣持 しえな): Kenmochi means swordship and it's written with the kanji sword (剣, ken) and possession (持, ji). kinda ironic for a girl who didn't fight at all, it looks more like a name for Chitaru (even more ironic since Shiena got poisoned over her supposed crush on Chitaru, perhaps this name was chosen because of that?). About her first name, ell apparently, according to google translate, it means sorry. That just makes me laugh. I guess she's really sorry to have been poisoned by a loli yandere. Okay, more seriously, about the kanji. There's To (し), huh (え, what?), and...literally what (な). Okay. Then we should call her Swordship Sorry now. Couple of years ago I'd read that しえ means purple, but I can't find the source now. Too bad, because it's Otoya's hair colour and it made my OtoShie shipper heart go doki doki. Edit: Shiena’s name can also be written 詩絵菜, with the kanjis 詩 (shi) meaning "poetry, poem", 絵 (e) meaning "picture, painting, drawing, sketch" combined with 菜 (na) meaning "vegetables, greens". I’m not sure if it’s relevant since her name in AnR isn’t written that way, but it could be a reference to her more artistic self, especially regarding theater. Tho it’s kinda ironic if it’s the case, since her least favorite food is vegetable.

Sagae Haruki (寒河江 春紀): So, Sagae is written with the kanji cold (寒, samu), river (河, kawa) and jiang (江, kô). So...she's a cold river. Perhaps it's a reference to being free? Water does feel like freedom. Haruki can mean Spring Season Tree or Spring Century. It's written with the kanji spring (春, haru) and age (紀, nori). I guess Haruki is a sunny person? I don't really have a lot of stuff for her name, sorry.

Shuto Suzu (首藤 涼): Shuto is written with the kanji neck (首, kubi) and wisteria (藤, fuji), which is a type of flower. So wisteria neck. I guess that the neck of a flower is the stem, so Suzu's head...is a flower? Well, she does have a lot of knowledge in flowers. Then her name Suzu, it's a really interesting case. Her name's sole kanji is 涼, which means cool/fresh, and is usually read as Ryō. But in the same Suzuka, which means fresh breeze it's written with the kanji 涼, and 風 (kaze, wind). Suzu's ending song is also named Suzukaze. Maybe it’s related to Suzu rather cool personality. Usually, the same Suzu is written with the kanji 鈴, which means bell.

Takechi Otoya (武智 乙哉): Takechi is written with the kanji war (武, Take) and intellect (智, akira). So intellectual war, perhaps it’s related to her manipulative nature when it comes to kill her victim. It can also be written Takeshi. 武 is really a kanji related to military and martial, and it’s used to write the word samurai, warrior. Perhaps a reference to Otoya being an assassin, or rather, a serial killer. Otoya can also be written  二矢, which means two arrows. Far-fetched, but perhaps it’s linked to the fact her weapon, scissors, had two blades. Her actual name is written with the kanji for second part (乙, otsu), and alas (哉, kana). Not so sure what it could mean.

Namatame Chitaru (生田目 千足): Namatame is written with the kanji living (生, nama), rice field (田, ta) and eye (目, me). Kinda make me reminds how we all thought Chitaru died, but it’s revealed at the end that she survived, that she’s living. She also said that she likes rice. For the eyes, perhaps it’s related to justice? It reminds me of the idiom an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. But that idiom referred more to vengeance than justice, which goes with what I think of Chitaru’s action in the series. Rather than doing actual justice, what she did was vengeance. Chitaru’s name can mean A thousand steps, and it’s written with the kanji thousand (千, sen) and leg (足, achi). All I got for that is that steps is important in sword fighting, and with the thousand, perhaps it’s because Chitaru is really experienced swordswoman.

Hashiri Nio (走り 鳰)/Kuzunoha Nio (葛葉 鳰): Hashiri means running, and it’s written with the kanji running (走, hashi) and the hiragana ri (り). It’s a fake name Nio gave herself for Class Black, because she didn’t want Tokaku to know she was from the Kuzunoha clan, the rivals of the Azuma clan. She chose it because she will always be running for the chairwoman. Nio’s name is written with the sole kanji 鳰, which means nio. Nio is an old name for the grebes that lived in Lake Biwa. It’s a name the chairwoman gave her because Nio didn’t have a name before, she was only referred as runt (or chibi in Japanese). Apparently, it’s the name of a bird from the place Nio was born (Shiga I think). Kuzunoha is written with the kanji arrowroot (葛, Kuzu) and leaf (葉, ha). I’m kinda surprised, I was expecting her name to mean west, like Azuma means east. But arrowroot is a West Indian herbaceous plant from which a starch is prepared. So it’s somehow related to west. Interesting fact, when Haru read her classmates’ name at the beginning, she used the honorific kun for both Isuke and Nio, and later she’s surprised to see that both of them are girls, which means Nio is most likely a male name too. Haru had also use kun for Tokaku, Hitsugi, Haruki and Otoya. Funny detail, but hiragana is usually used for feminine names.

Hanabusa Sumireko (英 純恋子): Hanabusa is written with the sole kanji 英, which means Ei, English in Japanese. It can also be read as "Hanabusa" (meaning "the calyx of a flower") but it can also be read as "Hana" (meaning "flower"). Sumireko did seem to like flowers, and I think it can symbolize her elegant nature. English is often viewed as noble, so perhaps it’s also related to the choice of her name. Her name Sumireko can also be read as Junko, who’s usually written 純子 (I’m trying hard to not make a danganronpa reference). The kanji used are pure (純, jun), love (恋, koi) and child (子, ko). The pure love of a child. Kinda ironic for a girl whose childhood consisted of assassination attempts against her.

Banba Mahiru (番場 真昼)/Banba Shinya (番場 真夜): Banba can mean place and is written with the kanji for number (番, ban) and place (場, ba). Perhaps number is a reference of their two personalities in the same place (the same body?). Mahiru can means midday or broad daylight, while shinya can mean midnight or full night, a clear reference to their day and night split personality. There’s two other way to write Shinya. It’s either 深夜 (Shinya, late at night) or 真也 (Shin’ya, that mean trust, believe, real or genuine). Shinya’s name seems to be a mix of both, and perhaps this name was chosen because Shinya is the only person Mahiru trust. Interesting fact, Mahiru can be both a girl and a boy name, while Shinya is always a male name. Shinya also uses the pronoun ore, which is almost only used by boy, and is a rude way to talk. So perhaps Shinya identify as a boy (but I don’t personally think so but who knows). Interesting thing. If you remove the first letter of Mahiru, it gives Ahiru, which means duck in Japanese (アヒル). I’m not sure if it was intentional but it sure is funny, considering Banba’s liking for plastic ducks.

Ichinose Haru (一ノ瀬 晴):  Ichinose is written with the kanji 一 (one, ichi), the katakana no (ノ) and the kanji age (瀬, se). It can also mean "Position of current" (ichi no se) in Japanese. Perhaps because Haru is the current queen bee to be tested? One is Tokaky’s number, but perhaps the one here is somehow as a reference as her being the target, since it’s the first number. Her name Haru usually means springs, but in her case, it’s written with the kanji for sunny (晴, hare). It’s not the same kanji as in Haruki’s name. According to Tokaku (and Shinya too?), Haru smells like the sun, which fits her same. It can also fit Haru’s bright personality.

Kaiba (カイバ): Kaiba is written with the katakana power (カ, ka), the (I think) katakana a (イ) and ba (バ). It can mean seahorse in Japanese.

Mizorogi Ataru (溝呂木 辺): Mizorogi is written with the kanjis groove (溝, mizo), ryo (呂) and wood (木, ki). It’s ironic that he as a kanji about groove (some kind of depression) in is name, since he’s pretty depressed near the end of the series. Ataru can also be written 陽, which means the sun, and is both a male and female name. Ataru’s name is written with the kanji side (辺, hen). Maybe it’s linked to his sunny personality and the fact he’s a side character.

Yuri Meichi (百合 目一): Yuri means lily, a type of flower, and those are the exact kanjis for the word yuri, referring to girl’s love manga in Japan. Kouga and Minakata must have found this really funny, since the chairwoman is behind everything and it’s a yuri manga. It’s written with the kanjis hundred (百, hyaku) and synthesis (合, gô). Meichi can mean eye and is written with the kanjis eye (目, me) and one (一 , ichi). 目 is also the first kanji for the word goal and purpose. I find it interesting that she also has the kanji ichi in her name, like Haru. The name Meichi is fitting for someone who’s an ambitious person who wants to be the best, which could fit the chairwoman, especially her current position.

Azuma Mako (東 まこ): Mako is written with the katakana up (ま, ma) and this (こ, ko). Up, maybe for up there, in heaven. Perhaps it’s a reference to the fact she’s dead and in heaven.

Azuma Karami (東 空身): Karami can mean sky. It’s written with the kanjis sky (空, sora) and body (身, mi). Again, sky can refer to heaven, referring to the fact she’s dead and in heaven, just like her sister.

Inukai Eisuke (犬飼 英介). Eisuke can also be written 英輔. His name is written with the kanjis English (英, ei) and through (介, kai). The first kanji is the same as Hanabusa’s kanji and the same as Isuke’s last kanji. It can also be written 栄祐 and 栄助 , which means glory, honour (栄, ei) and divine intervention, protection (祐, suke) or help, aid (助, suke). Eisuke did help Isuke when she was a kid, and I guess for an assassin, he has some honour.

Irina (イリーナ): I think those are katakana, which are usually used in Japanese for foreign names. Irina does seem like she’s not or not fully Japanese because of her darker skin.
