suna “fastest reader in the world” rintaro is immediately replying at the speed of light with his own paragraphs about how baffled he is that all those things happened to you.

Suna is well aware that he is attractive—that many girls from Inarizaki University look on his way and fawn over him whenever he passes by, some whom he even remembers tried sliding into his dms. As one of the core members of the university’s volleyball team, along with his undoubtedly good-looking features and the enigmatic persona he conveys, there is no denying that he would end up as one of the popular guys at the university.

To Suna, getting a girlfriend would just be a piece of cake. There are already a lot of girls who are attracted to him—waiting for him to give them a chance. He could easily just pick one fish in the sea that he finds interest in and that would be it. Well, that is what he had initially thought, because who would have thought that he would get humbled so easily the day he met you?

Suna is immediately on his phone that night—acting like a detective trying to find your social media so that he can finally learn something about you. The only clue that he has is your name or rather the name you were called earlier. But even with only one clue, it didn’t really take him much time until he finally found your public Instagram profile. 

Suna scrolled through your posts and immediately learned five things about you: one, you are a sophomore just like him; two, you are currently taking creative writing; three, you are a member of Inarizaki University’s journalism organization; four, you are single, which is a good thing for him; and five? Oh, this one surprised him the most that he even refreshed your profile multiple times, thinking he might have just been mistaken.

What is it about the fifth one that surprised him the most? Well, maybe it is the fact that you are not following his Instagram account despite following the Miyas, Aran, and the university’s official account for the volleyball team. He doubts that you don’t know him at all. He is always present in the Miyas’ comment section and tagged in posts by the university’s official account for the volleyball team, so why are you practically following everyone from his team but him? 

From what he can view from your profile, you seem quite active enough on social media. Some posts could be seen on your profile—the most recent being posted just a week ago. You even have a story that was just posted hours ago, and Suna didn’t hesitate to view it only for him to see you just reposted the latest announcement from your organization.

Without any hesitations, Suna immediately sent you a follow. Maybe this time you would notice that he also has an Instagram account and give him a follow back, right? He rarely makes the first move, but since it seems like you already know his account exists, wouldn’t it be such a shame if you reject such an offer of becoming Instagram mutual with someone like him, right?

The following morning came by. Suna opened his phone to look at the time and scroll through TikTok. He had completely forgotten what he had just done the other night, but everything came rushing back into his memory when he suddenly received a follow notification from Instagram.

xavier thinks that your recently adopted cat is taking your attention away from him. spoilers: xavier just doesn't want to share your attention, even if it's just with a cat.

“uh xavier, why are you having a staring contest with our cat?” you ask, tilting your head as you look at what is in front of you—xavier holding your cat up in the air, staring intently into the cat’s soul while it meows and purrs in his hold. 

“i just realized something…this cat has been hoarding all your attention these past few days,” xavier responds without batting an eye on you as he still holds your cat up in the air. 

xavier is definitely jealous of your cat. petty, right? you cannot blame him, though, because even before you adopted your cat together, he was the og housecat in this household—your oversized housecat to be specific.

don’t get xavier wrong because he actually liked the idea of the two of you adopting your first together. and when the two of you finally adopted one, he also ended up loving it—he just did not expect that your cat would “take” your attention away from him. 

before, xavier could always cuddle with you on the bed or couch and he always had your hands ruffling his hair while you were both cuddling. your hands are always just on him and nothing else, but now? he can’t even cuddle with you without your hand petting your cat. sometimes, you would even bring your cat on your lap to pet it or play with it, which prevents him from lying his head on your lap as he reads a book like he usually does. 

“xavier, wait…are you jealous of our cat?” you can’t help but give out a chuckle. 

“hey, don’t laugh at me,” xavier protests as he tries to hide his embarrassment by averting his eyes from yours.

“oh c’mon, xavier. our cat likes you.” you walk right up to xavier. “just look at it.” you point at your cat. “see? it’s staring at you with round pupils and it’s purring in your hold,” you point out, taking the cat from his hold before putting it down. and just right after putting it down, your cat walks toward you and rubs itself on your ankle. 

you are about to crouch down and pet it when all of a sudden xavier hugs you from the back as he rests his head on your nape. “if we had only adopted a plushie instead, i would still have all your attention,” he muttered. 

“you sure about that?” you tease xavier, making him huff.

“hm…anyway, do you want to go to destiny café? it’s been so long since we last went there,” xavier hums on your nape.

“oh, i would love to! but…what about our cat? it might get lonely and cry if there’s no one home to keep it company…” 

it’s that cat again, xavier thought. don’t get him wrong—he loves the cat you two adopted much as you love it too; he just thinks that it is stealing all your attention away from him. he hates to admit it, but it is making him a little bit jealous—that is what he thinks. in his defense, he is only a little bit jealous, even though in reality, it is not like the cat is taking all your attention away from him—he just has to share your attention with it.

“but don’t worry, xavier! i was actually thinking of buying a cat backpack so that we can bring our cat with us, so maybe let’s wait for it to arrive instead?”

xavier just hummed but didn’t exactly respond to your question. you can’t see it from your perspective, but from your nape, he is eyeing your cat—thinking that it is his nemesis that has finally brainwashed you into bringing it on your date. now he thinks he really has to do something about it. 

just as you were enjoying the company of xavier on your back and your cat on your feet, the cat started meowing at the two of you all of a sudden. looking at your wall clock to check the time, you realize that it is already time for your cat to eat, leading you to remove xavier’s hands from your waist before walking to the kitchen to feed your cat as it follows you from behind.

just right after you go into the kitchen to feed your cat, xavier immediately pulls out his phone from his pants before starting to type on it, seeming like trying to chat with someone. 

you walk right towards the couch in your living room to lay on it right after you feed your cat. xavier immediately notices it, finding it as a chance for him to finally get physical affection from you and solo it while your cat is eating and leading him to lay on top of you just like a cat.

“xavier, you are such a housecat,” you chuckle as you ruffle his hair.

“yeah, yeah, i’m your housecat—your first housecat. now, just focus on me.”

“mhm.”

it didn’t even take much time when you heard your cat start meowing. it seems like it is finally done eating. how fast, xavier thinks, feeling a little bit annoyed that he now has to share your attention with it again.

your cat jumps on the couch and then to xavier before resting itself like a loaf of bread on xavier’s back. 

“see? our cat really likes you.”

“yeah, yeah. now don't pet it and ruffle my hair instead. also go ready yourself in a few minutes because we’re going out.”

“go out? but what about the ca—” ding dong—you never got to end your sentence when the doorbell rang all of a sudden.

“seems like he came to the apartment earlier than i thought he would.”

“xavier, who was that?”

“caleb.”

“uh, since when did you even get caleb’s phone number?” 

“no more questions,” xavier responds as he taps the cat from his back, making it jump off of him so that he can open the door for caleb. he stands up from the couch before looking at you with a smile. “don’t you think we also need some alone time with each other, yeah? now go get yourself ready because we are going out for the rest of the day. my treat.” 

you didn’t get the chance to question xavier any further since he had already gone to the door to open it for caleb, so you did what he just asked you and went to the bedroom to get yourself ready.

“thanks for coming all the way here, caleb.”

“no worries, xavier. anything for pip-squeak,” caleb laughs as he taps on xavier’s shoulder before crouching to pick up your cat and petting it in his arms. 

just right after you finished readying yourself, you were immediately greeted by caleb as soon as you got into the living room. “caleb, it’s so good to see you!” you come up to hug him. “how’s grandma doing? aren’t you busy? i’m sorry for disturbing you.”

“what? no! don’t be sorry, pip-squeak. plus, i was about to swing by here anyway. and don’t worry, grandma is doing just well.”

“but what brings you here exactly?” you ask.

“well, xavier told me that he needs someone to look after your cat since you haven’t had a good walk around linkon city ‘cause no one can babysit your cat, so here am i.” 

“you really didn’t have to do that.” you elbowed xavier playfully when the two of you were finally walking through the hallway. “be grateful caleb isn’t busy today.” 

“i am grateful, you know—really grateful,” xavier chuckle. “hm, since it worked, i should probably start calling caleb to babysit our cat whenever we go out on a date so that i can have all your attention to myself.”

“seriously, xavier?” you laugh. 

“you bet. now don’t even think about buying that cat backpack so that you can bring our cat to our future dates.”

it's xavier's first time entering your bedroom, and he didn't expect to find his rivals gathered up on your bed.

xavier has been to your place numerous times, but he still has never seen your bedroom. the only parts he has ever reached from your place are any of the rooms on the first floor—this includes the living room, the kitchen, and the first floor’s bathroom.

“xavier, i need my charger. could you please get it from my bedroom upstairs?” 

“sure. where’s your bedroom upstairs?” 

“first room on the right,” you answer, to which xavier nods. 

walking up the stairs, xavier finally reaches the first room on the right. upon entering your bedroom, he stopped when a particular thing caught his attention—your bed filled with plushies the two of you won from claw machines. there’s the succulent bunny, hurty thistle, bunbun, fleecy, huggy bear—the list goes on. 

xavier stares at the plushies as he walks toward your bed. “so you are the ones she has been cuddling all night every night…” he mutters under his breath. “my rivals.”

picking up the first plushie the two of you won together, xavier stares straight into its beaded eyes as if he is trying to find its nonexistent soul. “i should be the one she is resting onto, not you…” he doesn’t realize that he is starting to squish on the plushie’s neck. heck, he doesn’t even realize that he is about to activate his evol. 

xavier is so busy having a staring contest with the plushie that he doesn’t realize the footsteps coming up the stairs and the door swinging open. “hey xavier, what’s taking you so long— um, what are you doing?” 

oh shit. xavier immediately snaps back into reality. “um, nothing…i just got distracted for a bit when i saw your plushie collection. i never knew your collection has become this big,” he excuses.

“oh,” you laugh. “well, i wouldn’t have that many if it weren’t for you.” you walk up to your bedside table to get the charger you tasked him to get. “anyway, i just finished preparing our snacks, so let’s go downstairs, shall we?”

you walk towards the door to exit the bedroom as xavier follows you behind. unbeknownst to you, as he walks behind you, his head is turned towards your bed, eyes are locked on your plushie collection with a look that clearly says, i’ll be back to deal with you.

“fuck–” you groan. “fine. okay. this chemistry project is really hard, i might as well just pass out.” 

your project partner, karasu tabito, who was just sitting right in front of you heard your frustration. looking up to face you, he was about to speak when you immediately cut him off.

“karasu tabito, don’t you dare say i’m mediocre,” you glare at him.

“what? i haven’t even said anythin’ yet.” karasu leans back in his chair and looks up at the ceiling. “to be honest with ya, i find this specific chemistry project hard too ‘cause i haven’t grasped it yet. ” 

you tilt your head from pure curiosity and disbelief. “wait, really?” 

“nah, i’m kiddin’– i’m the best in our chemistry class, remember?” your partner chuckles. standing up from his chair, he walks around the table to get to your side before sitting on the chair beside you. “so,” he chimes. “which part did you not get? let me help ya with it.”

at first, you couldn’t believe what he was saying. is he really going to help you without teasing you for finding this chemistry project hard? 

well, karasu really did help you understand the lesson for your project. he was even kind enough to repeat some of the parts you still couldn’t get. still, you couldn’t believe this was really happening. all this time you thought of him as this person who basically calls almost everyone at your school mediocre, so who would’ve thought?

so, he still knows how to be humble, huh? you couldn’t help but smile to yourself. “hm, you know what–” you look at him. “i’m actually starting to like you.” 

“well, can’t blame ya. i’m pretty awesome.” your partner boasts, tilting his head to look back at you with a satisfied look on his face.

⊹˚₊‧ first date disasters

a/n! this has been rotting on my docs for a year now 👍

ISAGI YOICHI meticulously planned everything—from eating breakfast at a local cafe to painting matching ceramic mugs at a ceramics studio. although his plans didn’t go well even from the very beginning when the cafe you were guys supposed to eat at didn’t open for the day due to an emergency. not only that but when you guys were painting your matching ceramic mugs, some kid accidentally bumped into him—making him drop the ceramic mug he was painting on the floor and breaking it. 

BACHIRA MEGURU was so excited to go on a date with you—a movie date at the cinemas. but he was so excited that he used up all his energy which led him to fall asleep in his room unexpectedly—leading the two of you to arrive 30 minutes late to the cinema. and when both of you finally got there, the tickets to the movie you really wanted to watch were already sold out so you ended up watching the only movie with tickets left—the most boring one in both of your opinions. 

NAGI SEISHIRO tried his best to wake up early for your date but his alarm failed him (he slept through all the alarms). for being late for the date, he thought of getting something for you from a claw machine as compensation. after immediately getting his first plush on the claw machine, he thought of getting you another one, so he did. one plush turned into two, and two turned into four. he became so busy trying to get you everything from that claw machine that he forgot about the time—making him arrive much later on your date. 

ITOSHI RIN just wanted to have a very simple first date, so you guys decided just to watch some movies over at his family home. both of you planned to just watch some horror movies at night before bringing you home, but while watching a horror movie that you guys chose, it started raining heavily before turning into a thunderstorm. both of you thought that it would soon subside when all of a sudden the power went out. not only that but even after hours, the thunderstorm still hadn’t subsided, so you decided to spend your night at his family home—in his room, while he stayed in his brother’s to give you some personal space. 

BAROU SHOUEI wanted to pick you up for your first date that he planned—an art gallery date. but when he finally reached your home and met up with you, he realized that he had forgotten to bring his gift to you. he insisted that he needed to give you the gift first before going to the art gallery, but when he reached his home to get it, he saw that the trash bags that the garbage men were supposed to pick up that day was trashed by some stray dogs—making him clean everything first before coming back to you. but when the two of you finally came to the art gallery, it closed much earlier than you guys had expected.

“you literally just cut your hair short a while ago,” rintarou spits in his defense. “you don’t need it right now.”

“but it’s still MY property!” rintarou’s little sister throws a pillow at him. “where do you even use them for?!”

“it’s for crush, y/n, okay?” rintarou immediately responds. “she’s coming over right now to study with me, so might as well prepare one of these in case she needs it.”

“who is this y/n, anyway? does she even deserve all the scrunchies in the world?”

“oh, shut up.” rintarou rolled his eyes at his little sister. “she does. definitely.” 

“no, YOU shut up!” rintarou’s little sister throws another pillow at him. “give it back, else i’m telling mom!” 

“hey, no, you little snitch—!” rintarou picks up a pillow when all of a sudden—

ding-dong. and with just that one simple sound, the suna siblings immediately stopped their almost pillow fight in the living room. 

rintarou immediately lets go of the pillow in his hand before running through the front door, as his little sister follows him out of curiosity, to open it for you. after swinging the door open to greet you, it seems like the world suddenly stopped for both of the suna siblings 

“oh.” rintarou’s little sister stops before blinking twice. and with her mouth agape, she adds, “oh, she’s pretty…” her words trail off. “really pretty.”

without even batting an eye at his little sister, rintarou nods in agreement as he shares the same facial expression with her—no thoughts, head empty—just way too lost by how pretty you are.

“oh,” rintarou’s little sister breaks the silence. “she can definitely have all my scrunchies.”

gn!reader x sunarin. the silence is eating you up, so might as well be the one to start the conversation, right? any topic will do, right? even if it’s just complimenting his voice. cw! profanity and suna making a suggestive joke.

“hey, y/n.”

“what the heck, rin!” you elbow at suna who was just looking over your shoulders. “you scared the shit out of me! don’t just come up from behind me and suddenly speak over my shoulders!”

“hey, chill,” suna laughs. “so,” he clicks his tongue with a smile. “what are you up to right now?”

“just sketching on my notebook.” 

suna just hummed in response before sitting right beside you. there was just complete silence after that as he watched you doodle on your notebook without even trying to say something to talk about.

the silence is so loud between the two of you that it is starting to make you feel anxious. what? is he just gonna watch you sketch in your notebook the whole time? you guys should at least talk about something to pass the time, right? you sigh to yourself. any topic might just do, right? 

“hey, has anybody told you that your voice sounds nice? like, it sounds hot. you know what i mean?” you blurt out all of a sudden before fully registering what you just said. what the hell were you thinking? you bite on your tongue as you close your mouth with your hand. that was so embarrassing and such a random thing to ask. you immediately turn your head away from suna. i mean, his voice IS hot, but still— 

“oh, you think my voice is hot?” suna leans his head towards yours and over your shoulders before whispering in your ear with a smirk plastered on his face, “you really think so? y/n?” 

“oh, shut up, rin!” you elbow him once again, to which he laughs. 

“what? i thought you found my voice hot?” he teases you more. 

you immediately turn your head to look at him, darting your eyes at his as you try to suppress the creeping flushed feeling in your chest. “hey! do you want me to choke you or what?” 

“jokes on you, i’m into that,” suna playfully replies, his smirk not leaving his face. 

you roll your eyes. “do you seriously want me to break that pretty face of yours?”

“aw, that’s cute. you think i’m pretty?”

“STOP.”

bf!kita shinsuke who immediately introduced you to his grandma the moment the two of you officially became a couple.

bf!kita shinsuke who may seem cold to everyone but will look at you with adoring eyes and the sweetest smile on his face. even his juniors during high school, like suna rintarou, noticed it when he met the two of you together for the very first time. 

bf!kita shinsuke who likes inviting you to any family outing and their house whenever there is a family occasion. he always makes sure that you feel loved by his whole family and makes you feel that you are a part of their family.

bf!kita shinsuke who got a little embarrassed at first when he saw that his grandma showed you his pictures when he was just a little kid, but the moment he saw how you fell in love with the pictures, he didn’t hesitate to say yes when you asked if you could have one of those.

bf!kita shinsuke who always makes sure that he has clothes in their home that you can wear whenever you spend the night at their home. some of the clothes such as shirts or sweaters are his while some are hand-me-downs from family members.

bf!kita shinsuke who will cook your favorite meals, even if you don’t ask for it, whenever you come by to their home. and if he’s gonna run into errands after cooking your favorite meal, he always makes sure to leave you some lovely notes alongside it.

bf!kita shinsuke who likes to bring you fruits and homemade snacks during breaks, and the snacks that he gives you are always on the next level and nutritious. he would even stick some cute notes on them.

bf!kita shinsuke who always makes sure that he’s not hurting you through his bluntness. he now often uses the time to think about what he’s going to say next to you to avoid hurting your feelings. 

bf!kita shinsuke who will always immediately go to your place to take care of you the moment he hears that you’re sick or something bad has happened to you. he’s in the middle of work when he learns that you’re sick? you bet he’s already running towards to get his keys, along with some herbal medicines, to drive towards your place.

bf!kita shinsuke who isn’t much of a pda person but enjoys holding your hand in public. in private, he likes hugging you tightly before giving you a kiss on the crown of your head.

bf!kita shinsuke who never misses a day and night of sending you good morning and good night messages. he would even add additional messages such as “don’t overwork yourself today,” “don’t forget to drink some water,” “don’t go to bed too late,” etc. before ending it with an “i love you.”

bf!kita shinsuke who will help you with anything he is capable of. he will help you study for a board exam or prepare for an interview. and if he’s not familiar with something, he will still try his best to help you, such as researching how to do a certain thing, etc.
