How do jayce and viktor end up dealing with jayce’s disability. Especially since its such a role reversal of their dynamics when they first met.

So quick little side comment but relevant here - in the way I'm going with Zaun Family Viktor's leg still isn't fully 'healed'. Yes it's much better than it was when he did get to the point where they started actively trying to fight back the illness laying waist to his body but it's not 100%. He can like do a 100 meter sprint if he needs or wants to but will pay for it afterwards and does wear his brace most of the time and still uses at least his cane to provide additional support. The Machine Herald armor was partially designed as a full-body brace but he doesn't live in it. When he's not in the MH armor he's probably around his Act One level of mobility except for the added ability to over-extend more in a short burst if he wants (but afterwards has to rest or use his crutch instead of his cane until he can rest).

Another quick comment - at least most of the places they live or work in frequently have already been made accessible to the level Jayce needs because of Viktor.

I think Jayce does mostly take it in his stride. That isn't to say he isn't frustrated about certain things about it. I think especially the level of fatigue that happens when he puts his weight on his bad leg for long periods of time especially when he's doing something physically intense like metal working annoys him a lot. But overall he doesn't really feel like he's broken or there's something wrong with him for it - it is what it is they can work around it (they way they always have with Viktor's). He does get a new understanding of Viktor's frustrations about his disability and Jayce probably feels terrible about complaining because Viktor's been dealing with this his whole life.

Viktor is understanding but he does sometimes finish Jayce's complaints for him because, yes, he well knows these frustrations well (which Jayce then always apologizes for complaining and Viktor has to correct that, no, it is fine for him to complain, Viktor just understands). But Jayce was always patient with him even when he was at his most frustrated about a situation and lashing out because of it, he can be patient with Jayce as Jayce adapts to this.

Viktor when not in his machine herald armor is probably still a little bit worse than Jayce in that he does more need his cane while Jayce can mostly get away with just the leg brace. But they do at the end of the day kind of trade off who is doing those end-of-day tasks based on who overexerted themselves worse that day.

An thing to consider as well is that Jayce probably made it worse because of not letting it to rest and heal properly because of the focus on defeating the Piltover occupation. And he was probably warned that if he didn't rest and give it the time to heal he'd likely need a brace for the rest of his life and his response was very "that's fine". Getting Ambessa and her forces out of Piltover is far, far more important to him than not needing to wear a leg brace the rest of his life.
