There comes a point in your story where your characters, though created by you, become entities of their own. Once out into the public, people create ideas in their minds of these characters based on what was presented. They form ships, they form ideas. They soak in the stories and art like rays of sunlight.
And that’s a beautiful thing.
To have something you created take a life of its own in the hearts of readers, watchers, lovers of art. It’s amazing. The ideas we are able to share, compare and contrast, help bring these stories to life. Am I proud? You bet your ass I am. For every mention of my characters, every interaction, every theory crafted in my comments, a huge smile spreads to my face.
You’re inspired. I’m inspired. You’re enjoying it. I’m enjoying it. That’s what life’s all about. That’s why I create. 💫

[ART FOR OTHERS]
As the third part in this series Art for Others, I present free title art and a cover option for @sableglass’s historical fantasy story called A Mole In The Ground. From the link:
The rural town of Cedar Crest has been isolated from outside influence for decades, until whispers of civil war begin to spread. Maeve Webb, a 23 year old homebody is content to dismiss the rumors as yellow journalism, but when the western army arrives in town to take up quarters she is faced with the realities of looming conflict.
The occupation draws the attention of anti-government arsonists, and when an unprecedented attack results in the death of two men, Maeve is found complicit in sabotage. Displaced, she has no choice but to leave a simple life behind and travel north with a mysterious out-of-towner who makes a lofty promise.

The art I make for these is free for you to use as you like
Higher resolution copies here for you if you want them
If you follow me and have a writing project you’re working on, there’s a chance you’ll receive art from me randomly!
Another episode of ‘Art for Others’ this time next week >>

Displayed in Kelvingrove Art Gallery - Memorial to Marriage, Patricia Cronin.
Tumblr media
“Memorial to a Marriage is a double portrait of my partner - artist Deborah Kass - and me. A double life-size marble version of the work was installed on our burial plot in Woodlawn Cemetery, New York.
The statue addresses issues of lesbian invisibility, gay marriage, love and loss, power and status. In death I make official my "marriage", which was not legal for most of our relationship.
I wanted something that celebrated our life together. If all I would be officially allowed is death, I decided to make the most elegant and dignified statement I could about the end of our life together.
In summer 2011, the New York State Senate passed a bill allowing gay people to "marry". After 18 years together, we went to City Hall on the morning of 24 July for this service which was a step in the right direction. However, it still does not give us full equal rights with heterosexual marriage, which is recognised in all states under federal law.”
Honestly the detail in this sculpture is amazing! The time and care and love is extremely evident in this piece of art and the story behind it is truly beautiful and inspiring. I just had to share it here. ❤️

Are there other good websites/apps to post art on? I would like to share my art elsewhere. but Twitter is shit and owned by that guy, and deviantart is pro Israel. is there others? I think Instagram is very algorithm based and it wants daily posts if you want anything seen, but I also don't mind having little views. Is bluesky any good? I think Toyhouse is mainly for original characters?
