i just like the aesthetic and ummmhm symbolism of uh crows..

crows are usually seen as bad omens, but they're very smart, they remember people, they bring gifts, they warn animals abt each other, a group of them is called a murder... i think these ideas fit Watchers.

okay now here is my vampire au… yet another au i know.. if ud like to read abt it ill write some stuff under the cut

base concept is grian gets fired from his office job so on his way home there is a little bird who he mistakes as injured. he tries to help it (savior complex) but gets a curse placed upon him instead, slowly turning him more into a bird (very specifically a great horned owl).

having been so detached from the magical culture/world he returns to his former guild (the watchers) and asks them if they can help. first of all theyre baffled by the gall grian has to walk out on the guild years ago and then return as if he hadnt betrayed them. another story for another time, they say they can lift the curse but only under the condition of grian technically rejoining the watchers and taking up bounties once more. his entrance bounty is to slay this vampire (scar) so hes like sure done deal. scar has been kept alive for centuries, the watchers have no actual intentions of grian succeeding. theyre sending him as scars dinner basically, an offering, sacrifice if you must. grian realizes this once he finds out that scar is tethered and essentially trapped in this mansion. grian tries to free scar but does so unsuccessfully, he tampers w the ward placed by the watchers and accidentally rewrites it so scar is tethered to him. a bit like double life in a way. so now these two r stuck together and have to slay monsters and whatever while also trying to find a way to lift the curse on grian while also trying to break the soul bound. yeah there's more like the watchers r gonna b hunting them down … theyre considered runaway fugitives or smth hm another ramble for another post okay goodbye..

No Eyes Au

Hello there! I humbly offer you fanart of Grian from my AU, which has been tentatively named the No Eyes, aka Sol's Eyes Au, aka SEAU, (aka I see you 👁️👁️).

I REALLY wanna tell y'all more about it, so reference + more yaps under the cut

Okay first, this was my reference!

I think every artist should use this reference at least once in their life because it's genuinely SUCH a cool concept.

NOW!!! ONTO THE FUN STUFF!

Okay so No Eyes, what is it about? Well! I'm so glad I asked! I'd love to tell the internet all about it, completely unprompted!

The Eyes AU is a dual-reality alternate universe incorporating Evo, Hermitcraft, and every Life Season. Possibly YHS as well(?), though I'm not familiar enough with it to say for sure yet. HOWEVER! It also — completely separately from the canon series, yet hopelessly intertwined with them — takes place in a magical modern day setting! Where all the hermits and life series members you know and love exist together, with their fandom-assigned animal/mob traits~

But that's just about every Hermit/Life Series AU, isn't it? What makes this one unique? I'm so glad I asked again!

See, the reason it's called No Eyes, is because — get this — Grian has no eyes. WILD! I know! Okay but seriously. Basically what happened is, in the modern reality, the Watchers are an Avian-exclusive cult. The highest ranking members, called the Scapulars, are all very specifically Owl Avians (thus the Owl Butterflies in the drawing)!! The Scapulars are very powerful, and in exchange for a person's eyes (and undying loyalty), they can bestow some of their power onto others.

However, I'm sorry to disappoint all you angst vultures and disability rep activists out there (y'all are just like me fr fr), but he is NOT fully blind. Part of the power granted by the Watchers is Watcher Sight! Probably not actually called that, but it's the easiest way to refer to it!

The concept is a bit hard to explain. It's kinda like– okay so you know how if you touch something, and then you close your eyes, you're still touching that thing? You can still feel exactly where it is, feel the shape of it, feel it if it moves? That's pretty much what the Watcher Sight is, but it's like you're touching everything around you, all the time. It works in a radius and ignores the concept of "hidden" — basically, it works through walls, and can even sense the needle in the haystack.

However, he can't see. He can't see the things he creates, the places he enjoys, the people he loves. He can only sense them. He may know they're smiling, but he'll never see that smile again.

There's sooooo much more to this AU, but I need to get back to work on my actual career, LOL. Thanks for reading, bye bye!

How would you rank the seasons of TWD as a normal watcher and how would you rank the seasons based on the Richonne content? :)

Thanks for asking! This is a really good question because the answers are definitely different. The first 6 seasons of TWD are truly gold to me. Ranking seasons by Richonne content was even harder because I legitimately love their content from all 7 seasons they had together. I wrote out my ranking below with a little explanation for why I ranked each season where I did, specifically when it comes to Richonne content. Also, your question made me curious to see what other people might say is their favorite season based solely on the Richonne content. So I made a poll if people want to weigh in. 😊

Ranking TWD Seasons Based on Richonne Content

#7: SEASON 8

I ranked Season 8 lowest because Richonne barely interact in 8A since they’re apart for most of it, and then in 8B, they’re grappling with the worst situation ever, which is losing their son Carl. But I do love the way they manage to hold onto each other and tend to each other amid their grief.

#6: SEASON 3

It felt strange to put Season 3 this low because this season does a superb job of building Richonne’s foundation and has such great, memorable moments between Rick and Michonne. I really do adore Richonne’s Season 3 content, and for TWD, it’s my favorite season. It’s just that the other seasons feature Richonne interacting more and also not being at odds, which is why they ranked higher for me. 

#5: SEASON 4

I really do love this season for Richonne and it's such an important one for them. This really is the season that makes Richonne a true family, and it’s the season Rick and Michonne fall in love imo. Plus, their time spent traveling with Carl is some of my favorite stuff from TWD. At first, I had this season ranked higher, and the only reason I moved it here on my list is because I realized that other seasons include Richonne having more one-on-one exchanges, whereas a lot of the great Richonne foundational things in Season 4 occur both apart or with others around. Which is still genuinely great tho.

#4: SEASON 6

It also felt strange to not put Season 6 in the Top 3 because it’s the season where Richonne become an official couple, and I love those early moments between them as a couple. It's great seeing them be all new to finally getting to show their love out loud. But again, it hit me that while their scenes together are great, they’re a bit few and far between, which is why I ranked it here. However, every time Rick and Michonne were on screen together in Season 6 was just electric and such a confirmation that they were meant to be.

#3: SEASON 5

Season 5 made my Top 3 because it has some of my absolute favorite pre-canon Richonne content. They’re partners through and through this season, and I love how that plays out in episodes like What Happened and What’s Going On (5.09) & The Distance (5.11) especially. And even with a certain owl lady storyline going on and Rick keeping some of his schemes with Daryl and Carol away from Michonne, I still really like Rick and Michonne’s interactions in ASZ, culminating with my all-time favorite pre-canon Richonne scene in the Season 5 finale when Rick essentially tells Michonne he knows the notable influence she has on him and Michonne tells Rick she’s still with him no matter what. 

#2: SEASON 9

Now if Richonne had gotten to be together for a full season in Season 9, I have a strong feeling it would take my number one spot as my favorite for Richonne. It’s mainly second place instead because they only have scenes together in 4 episodes. But man are those scenes perfection. I adore Season 9 Richonne. 🤩 Seeing them be so joyous with each other and get to really live and breathe for a bit was a breath of fresh air to watch. I love that we got several insights into the great parents they are to Judith and the way they infused their life together with so much happiness and laughter.

Every scene they had together they were in such a great spot and as in love as ever. It made it all the more tragic that they end this season unwillingly split from each other for years, because they had been feeling so hopeful about their future and the life they were creating together. But I’m so glad that while their time that season was brief, it was still blissful. The way they were in Season 9 is everything those soulmates deserve.  

#1: SEASON 7

Part of why I can never fully hate on Season 7 is because, while many other areas of TWD took a big dip this season, the Richonne content was solid gold. And not just in one half of the season either. Both 7A and 7B gave Richonne such great moments and just their whole journey that season together - their first full season as a couple - was moving and unforgettable from start to finish. 

There was Rick being adamant about not losing Michonne and confiding in her about not being Judith’s biological dad, the iconic Kiss of Life, the beautiful moment they share in that cell as they agree to fight the Saviors and take on everything in life together, mowing down those walkers in those cars, tag-teaming when navigating Jadis and her Winslow walker, Rick getting Michonne the cat statue, SAY YES, Richonne establishing their “We’re the ones who live motto” and embracing while affirming that motto in the S7 finale, and ending the season with Rick taking care of Michonne as she recovers. Oh, and also, Say Yes again because that honeymoon episode deserves a shoutout twice. 😌 I became a Richonne fan in Season 6. I became a Richonne stan in Season 7. So the seventh season is number one for me based on Richonne content.

Old West AU / Marvel - Winteriron / Owl

Tony slumped in his seat, watching the world outside the train slide past, the only world he knew getting farther and farther away with every passing clack of the train’s wheels over the tracks.

The train lurched and Tony was all but thrown from his seat, barely catching himself on the vacant space opposite him as his ears filled with the screaming of the brakes as the train slammed to a halt. A few seats up, a man cursed as his valise fell from the storage rack onto his head.

Tony stood up. “I’ll see what’s happened,” he said, and no one contradicted him as he made his way carefully up the aisle and into the next car.

“--just run them over!” Obie was snarling at the conductor.

“With all due respect, Mr. Stane, it’s not the men and beasts on the track that are the problem. We’re only half a mile out from the Overlook Bridge. If we don’t stop, they'll wait ‘til we’re halfway across and blow the bridge, and the whole train will fall into the canyon.”

“What’s going on?” Tony interrupted, before Obie could start yelling again.

“Train’s being robbed,” the conductor said shortly. “Please, everyone return to your seats and don’t do anything rash. We’ll take up any losses with the sheriff at the next town; he’s supposed to have his men patrol along this stretch of the route to keep this sort of thing from happening.”

Obie looked like a stormcloud. “We’re supposed to just sit quietly and wait for them to steal our valuables, is that it?” he thundered. “Where’s your spine, you coward? Let me get my gun and--” He broke off, his eyes widening, and Tony turned to see that one of the robbers had come into the car.

He was tall and broad, his hat settled low to keep his eyes in shadow and a cloth wrapped around his head to obscure his face. He had a rifle slung across his back and a six-shooter in each hand, gleaming with deadly beauty. “Think you gentlemen oughtta listen to the conductor, here,” he drawled.

“Now see here,” Obie started, but the robber lifted one pistol, aiming straight at Obie’s forehead, and cocked the hammer.

“I ain’t gonna be so polite if you make me ask again.”

Obie sputtered, but even he wasn’t brash enough to try to argue with a bullet. “Come on, Tony,” he snapped. “You shouldn’t have left your seat in the first place, what the hell were you--”

“Tony?” the robber interrupted. He came closer, and Tony stumbled back a pace. The robber used the gun not pointed at Obie to prod at the bottom of Tony’s chin, forcing his head up. “Tony Stark?”

Tony’s heart was hammering, but as coolly as he could, he said, “Who’s asking?”

The robber chuckled, just a little. “They call us the Avengers,” he said, and quicker than Tony could process it, the man had spun Tony around, one arm around his neck to keep him in place and the other holding a gun to his back. “You’re worth more’n the entire baggage car,” he said, “so you’ll be comin’ with me.”

“No!” Tony struggled, but the masked man was strong, stronger than any man Tony’d ever met before. Using Tony as a shield, he backed out of the car, into the next one up the line. The dining car, and with a sinking sensation in his stomach, Tony saw it was deserted except for two other robbers at the far end of the car, conferring in low voices over some piece of paper.

They looked up as Tony and his captor came in.

“Look what I found,” Tony’s kidnapper said, twisting again to push Tony further into the car. “Not sure how we’re gonna split it, though.”

The man holding the paper snorted, then leaned through the door connecting this car to the next and made a sound like the screech of an owl. Footsteps sounded on the roof of the car, where they must have posted watchers.

The other one barked out a laugh. “Good job, Cap,” he said, and Tony knew that voice.

He stopped struggling, his eyes wide. “Bu--” He broke off. He didn’t dare say the name aloud, but his captor released him and he took several steps forward, needing to see...

The robber tipped his hat back a little, just long enough for Tony to see two eyes, gray as gunsteel. Eyes belonging to the man Tony had thought he’d been forced to leave behind. “You came for me?” he whispered.

“Damn straight,” Bucky said. “But make a good show of it as we drag you off to ransom you, huh? I’ll explain everything once the train’s gone on through.”

In the depths of the mystical forest, where the murmurs of the trees intertwined with the gentle caress of the breeze, a being of extraordinary elegance stepped forth from the twilight. Her fur shimmered like freshly fallen snow under the moon's embrace, radiating a soft, silvery luminescence that illuminated the verdant carpet beneath her. Her mane glowed with an otherworldly light, each strand resembling delicate threads woven from the very essence of moonbeams. Above her, the leafy canopy arched like a grand cathedral, sunlight filtering through in a whimsical ballet, casting intricate patterns of light and shadow upon her form.

Once, she had been a powerful witch, wise and revered, moving with a grace that echoed her lost humanity. Her eyes, now reflecting the depth of a nocturnal creature, carried a quiet sorrow, a poignant reminder of the life she had once known. They sparkled with ancient knowledge, hinting at the stories of countless nights and the whispered mysteries hidden within the forest's embrace.

Her hooves danced through the muck and mire of the earth, each step resonating with the pulse of the land. The woodland creatures sensed her arrival, for she was a guardian, a quiet watcher who safeguarded the realm with an unwavering gaze. They could feel her strength, even if they couldn’t perceive the delicate spells she spun to protect the innocent and lead wandering souls back to the familiar trails.

As the sun sank beneath the horizon, the forest fell into a hushed stillness, as if it were pausing to catch its breath. The air was rich with the aroma of pine and the allure of a night brimming with murmurs and mysteries. The transformation had exacted a toll on her, yet it had also bestowed upon her a deep bond with the spirits of the land. They communicated with her through the whispering leaves and the far-off call of an owl, steering her through the maze of ancient trees. Her mission was clear, though the journey was laden with danger. She sought the hero foretold by fate, a companion of great significance to join her in this endeavor. Until that moment arrived, she remained tethered to the forest, a quiet guardian of enchantment and wonder in a world that had long forgotten her essence.

The forest’s breath came with a chill the deeper one wandered. Like the leaves, it started as a whisper, nearly indiscernible from the wild nightlife.

Further ahead was a hum, low and sinister. Had survival instincts not kicked in, there might have been more bodies.

Few birds scatter the forest floor, a huddle of rabbits, a fox… schools of fish frozen still in the river.

Snow was brought in by a gale of numbing winds. The trees shivered under the hiss in the air.

An iced over wolf stood frozen mid step, head down and peering into the fogged brush. Cautious.

Blood painted the snow on the other side in a disastrous slop. From the ground to being frozen mid drip from the tree leaves above; it was everywhere.

It should have smelled worse but it was tempered by the cold.

Parts of a dark claw, a chewed open leg, and greasy black hair scattered the scene. Teeth— part of bony mask… crimson streaks that led to the dead hollow body, and the woman perched atop it.

She looked on, tonguing meat out of the dips in her talons. The approaching creature was a laughable juxtaposition to the horror here, but Jewel merely stared and studied it.

“What do you want?” she graveled out of her mangled mouth. “I’m busy.”

This has been on my askbox forever because I couldn't figure out what to say but then I watched Labyrinth Runners from the owl house and I love the scene with Hunter's panic attack so much that I had to bring it into this au somehow

When Gem finds out about how different Wild Life and Secret Life were from the others she blames herself for the sudden involvement of the Watchers when they used to be pretty much left alone (she figured it out from the trivia bot)

She holes herself up in the barn to not disturb Joel and tries to be as quiet as possible to not disturb him, stopping herself from breathing because her sobs were making too much noise, it's Pearl, coming up to annoy her, who finds her

Unfortunately Pearl is not equipped to deal with this so she just closes the trapdoor behind her and sits beside Gem, eventually Gem leans into her and Pearl wraps an arm around her for comfort

Gem obviously has a headache from crying because I have a migraine right now and what is my pain if not more suffering to give to my block guys

Did someone ask for me to info dump about my characterization of Grian? No? Well, too bad, you’re getting it anyway

The way I organized this is based on the character study document I made like, a year and a half ago, so some of the details matter and some of them don’t. They’re all gonna be included anyway, though, because I said so :]

His full legal name is Grian H. Dreamslayer. Why? Because Scar said so LMAO. I literally have no clue what the “H” even stands for (Hermit?) but like. Does it really matter? Idk man he’s just some guy so I’m not gonna think about it that much

He is an avian hybrid, with traits specifically derived from crows. He also has “Watcher” traits, which are manifested visually as pink/purple-y feathers & an Evo symbol on his forehead. He also has “void magic”, which is basically the ability to harness the void and bend it to his will. However, he doesn’t like his Watcher traits, so he uses the void to hide them! He can make permanent darkness cover his feathers so all of them look black, and casts his forehead in shadow to hide the symbol. He also tends to hide his headwings, which he does by creating a sort of “rift” around them so they aren’t visible.

Grian is very reactive to his environment. He’s willing to be proactive when the situation calls for it—especially because he’s a natural leader—but, he usually prefers to see how things happen naturally. He’s somewhat complacent out of reflex, but when he’s in his right mind, he hates taking orders & is not fond of authority figures. With small/everyday things, he can be really argumentative against things he disagrees with. In important situations, however, he typically airs on the side of caution. Grian likes to pry for information, but isn’t always the most tactful. He knows knowledge is power, but sometimes he’s too conspicuous about gaining said knowledge, and people can be tipped off by it.

A few other details about him:

Smells like: wind, spring air, clean/fresh

He is street smart: has special knowledge of hunting & foraging, as well as close-quarters combat

Likes: tea, pastries (big sweet tooth)

Dislikes: coffee (he drinks it anyway and whines the whole time)

Passions: flying, studying magic

Habits/”quirks”: his wings are very emotive, he bites his nails & pulls his hair when stressed

Special, plot-relevant skills: gunslinger, knife enthusiast

He has a terrible sleep schedule (night owl)

Idk how to end a post but that’s all for now! I’ll keep posting stuff about other characters to here, I think :]
