                    Still Here.

     His back was towards her as it often had been for years now, but that never stopped the woman from speaking. Although at the moment no words were offered, all she could do was stare at him while keeping her distance across the room. A sullen silence filled the room as the man stared passed the glass of a window out into the blackness of space. "I always hated when you would fall quiet, it always meant you were deep in thought... often thinking of something that hurt or brought unease to you."

     Padmé Amidala could hear the sigh be released, yet as usual, he never responded. There was a pain in her chest, that of a broken heart. It was hard to be around and offer company to someone yet feel so alone. The thought crossed her mind plenty... did he feel alone as well? He was surrounded by many, but that didn't mean the man wasn't alone.

     The female took a few strides forward, what sounded like echoing footsteps across a black floor would sound like nothing to others- that was if there had been anyone else with them. If there had been, instead, what others would have heard is the breathing of the man they both feared and respected. "I know you call yourself Darth Vader now..." Padmé briefly fell silent as the foreign name rolled off of her tongue, "They see you in the dark... for they will never see or picture you in the light like I have." A faint smile formed on her lips as she continued to move towards him until she stood directly behind the man known as Darth Vader. Despite the attire that covered him from head to toe, she could still sense something, no someone familiar beneath it all. "Anakin..." She breathed the name with a great amount of relief. Her hand extended, touching his right shoulder.

     "You will always be Anakin Skywalker... my Ani... my friend, my love, my husband. Even in the death, I still see and sense the good in you. Deep down, but it's still there. I feel it."  

     She leaned forward to press her forehead against his back. For a moment she remained both still and silent, her brown gaze fixated on his black clothing in front of her face. "Do you still think of the time we had spent together?" She asked knowing there wouldn't be a reply. "When we first met... we were both just kids." Padmé could feel her smile growing. Are you an angel?, it was the first thing he had said to her. Even at her age back then she was taken back, in a good way of course. Little did she know how much little Anakin would have meant to her in the future. "I still remember trying to deny my feelings for you. I was trying to do what I thought was right, but in the end, I was wrong. I hurt you in the process..." "Our wedding was private, small... beautiful. I was so happy." Amidala buried her face into him. No reaction. She could feel her emotions beginning to get the best of her.

     Padmé's eyes burnt as she took a trip down memory lane alone, or at least she'd think that would be the case. "I think, no, I know one of the best moments in my life was when I told you I was pregnant with your children." Her smile remained as her thoughts went to their children, Leia and Luke. That smile faded... she wanted to raise the both of them with Anakin, but that dream was gone... long gone.

     "It's not too late, Ani. It's never too late." Her words surely fell on deaf ears like that had for years now... yet she wouldn't stop. A small gasp passed her lips when he moved forward, leaving her hand to fall back to her side while she watched him walk out of her vision. The woman's heart throbbed in pain. In the reflection of the window, she watched him stop at the door. "I know you're suffering..." Padmé's voice was a soft whisper as she held back a sob, "You don't need to be in pain." The man stood there only a moment longer before exiting. In the window's reflection was an empty room, even where she stood was empty, her reflection was nothing. Tears rolled down her cheeks. One day Anakin will return. He is there... he just needs a push.

Justman, that the tentatively scheduled season opener (September 15th) will take place, in part, on the planet Vulcan. We have since learned that the show, "Amok Time," was written by no less an author than Theodore Sturgeon. In the course of the program, Spock will meet his assigned wife, for the purpose of satisfying the Vulcan septennial mating drive. Vulcans—or at least Vulcan males (at the moment. we're not quite sure which)—must experience sex every seven years, or die.

We have been told that the story is handled with the same care and skill that made Star Trek our favorite program in its first season. Look out, September 15th—here we come!

AND NOW A WORD OR TEN FROM OUR SPONSOR: We are eternally grateful to the people who pick up the check for our favorite program. However, it has come to our attention that small but important segments of action are cut from the broadcast received in some cities, especially those in the parts of the country that get their master broadcasts from New York City. TREK TROUBLES: According to Bjo Trimble (via Dorothy Jones) Star Trek still has renewal problems. If we want the show to continue (if we want…!) we must continue the campaign. Letters should be addressed to: Mort Werner, Programming, NBCTV, [Address Redacted]. Write soon and often. Good continuing public response is a sine que non for any TV series, especially one in prime-time. If we appear to lose interest, so will NBC.

A LAST WORD: Yeds are aware that when the new season begins, two weeks after our anticipated publication date, many (all?) of our lovely theories will be blown to pieces. On the other hand, we console ourselves with thoughts of all the new material we'll have to play with. Anyone for a Spockanalia #2?

3) What song describes your OC? - You know what? It's so hard to find really good songs about Abby (so I'm open to suggestions). I have a lot of songs about her relationship with Aegon, how Aegon views her, but I suppose I haven't found that genre of music that vibes super heavily with her. With that being said, I went digging into Spotify and the old hard drive archives for something.

There's some songs I really want to dig into, but we'll go with Bones by MSMR, Breath of Life by Florence + The Machine, Still Here by Digital Daggers,

You snuggle in a little closer as she plays a relaxing song for ambiance. You couldn’t help but smile at the feeling of a rumbling purr coursing through her body, though it was hardly audible with the music. You both sat there in silence for a while, simply enjoying each other’s company side by side while the Archivist worked. In the green light of the electric lantern used to illuminate the room, there was a small burning thought ebbing into your mind, disrupting your pleasant emotions like a fly buzzing around your head. 

“Hey Archi?” You asked, and you heard the music lower in volume. She turns her head to you, her green eye staring down at you, “Yes, dear?” You shuffled where you were, looking down at the ground beside you, “When a Challenger does eventually come here, will you still be here?” You noticed her digital mouth frowning slightly at your words, “What exactly do you mean?” She shifted her focus back onto the files in front of her, flipping through each one in her large hands. 

Fidgeting with your hands, you hesitated with your words. “Oh, I don’t know.” You finally sighed, still not looking up at her quite yet. “Since they’re trying to defeat you, like I was before I stopped towards the end, but this time they more than likely won’t drop out. What’ll happen to you then?” She came to a slow halt in her work, setting the files down in an orderly stack. You cautiously looked up at her, and when you met her gaze, it’s like something you had expected but also didn’t at the same time. It’s soft, caring and gentle while still being firm all at once. “Are you worried about me?” She asked softly, gently lifting your chin up with one finger. You nodded, feeling your throat starting to get tight. 

She brushed some hair out of your face, letting her hand linger as she spoke to you in a soft, low digitized hum. “You need not to worry about me, I won’t go anywhere, not without you my dear.” You sniffled, looking down to the side before back up at her again, “Promise?” The Archivist only smiled and pressed a gentle kiss onto your forehead. “I promise. I will be at your side, always.” A smile curled on your face, nuzzling into her affectionate gestures.

You stared up at her in dismay, sickeningly bright strings of binary streaming upwards from her monitor. You did what you could, trying everything that you could think of to awaken her. The librarians were of little help, as they couldn’t help out much either, but you appreciated their help regardless. The day you feared had arrived, and it pierced through your heart like a dagger. It pained you so, earlier that very day she was being as loving and caring with you as though everything was okay. But now, she was stuck like this, and no one knew when she was coming back, if she ever would be able to. The possibility of this being her eternal rest made you shudder.

Biting back the welling tears in your eyes, you walked to her, slipping under her large arm that lay limply on the ground. You simply laid at her side, hardly flinching at the cold chill of her body. You felt the tears starting to spill over, but in whatever chance she may hear you, you reassured her. “You don’t need to worry, Archi.” You rasped, “I’ll be here with you, always.” Tears spilled down your cheeks as you nuzzled against her side, never wanting to leave her, not again. The Challenger already got what they wanted, what more would they need to do to be satisfied? Such things added more to the concoction of emotions you were feeling, but that hardly mattered now, didn’t it? No, your beloved and her fellow Uberbots were shut down because of this creature lurking around Botopia, with its residents being forced to live with the consequences. 

Your world was already gone, what more could they want?
