THE HAZBIN LEAKS SHOW THAT S2 WILL ONLY GET WORSE: Characters
OK so my first gripe,
Emily's song is ear bleedingly annoying. Idk who her VA is but omg, idk if she's tone deaf or if they just have her mouth directly into the mic but my gods woman. STEP BACK you are assaulting my brain with these nonstop high sopranos.
Also the literal shot of Sir P trying to kill himself cuz of how either how annoying Emily is being or the fact he misses his friend, regardless it was a WILD fucking scene to show. Suicide isn't off the table for Viv's jokes, i guess.
Speaking of Sir P, his reason for being in Hell is so fucking stupid.
How tf is being scared of Jack The Ripper a sin?! His sin is just being scared of being murdered if he spoke out.
THAT'S JUST NORMAL HUMAN BEHAVIOR, WHAT?!
I hate to break it to you Viv, but not everyone is going to act like a macho hero when they see a damned murder!! Most people fucking run and hide! Why? CUZ THEY DONT WANNA DIE! They don't want to be targeted if shit goes south.
Also what is the thought process here in making his sin being just "cowardice"?? Viv are you trying to say that people who have most def been in Sir P's shoes, [witnessing a murder] are cowards that deserve to go to hell?? What's the motive here? Am i missing something?? Is being too afraid to be murdered, a sin??
Also apparently he was sent to Heaven for "saving Cherri Bomb"

Last i checked, in the final ep; he just kisses her as she's about to through a bomb and then says "i love you, remember me" only to have one of the most anti climatic "deaths" in the show. She wasnt even being attacked or threatened in anyway. So where tf does the plot point of "i saved her" come in??
Also can we talk about these fuck-ass human designs for Sir P and Alastor??
I don't mind Sir P's as much as i hate Alastor's. Its the fact Viv doesnt know wtf she's doing when she makes these designs.
Sir P just looks like a generic guy. One look at him and you cannot tell what time period he's from, same goes for Alastor. They could easily be frickin neighbors in the early or late 90s but no, they're supposedly from different timelines.
Alastor iirc is from the 1940-50s, and Sir P is from the 1800s, [Jack the rippers final kill was 1863-1888]
Why, Viv, cant you do any research for the time periods YOUR characters come from??
Why do they both look like cartoon barbers; not a radio show host and not a genius inventor?? Like did you even look at the differences in fashion and culture for any of these characters?!

See Viv, their fashion styles are different and shouldn't look the same at all. Why does every character have pinstripes, if it doesnt even reflect that time period in an authentic way??
And to add a cherry on top, this is what African American men would wear in Alastor's time period:

Black men were not given the same nice everyday casual wear that white men did. They often wore hand-me-downs or had to work their asses off to just afford 1 nice looking suit.
you wanna know why?? Cuz Viv, the Jim Crow laws were still in full affect til the late 60s and early 70s. They were not seen as people, black men and women were still heavily discriminated against and were even still being victims of-

lynching's. Alastor would feel lucky, he only got mistaken for a deer and shot; he could have, and probably did, go through much much worse in his actually living life.
Tell me you didn't do any research for your characters without telling me you didn't do any research for your characters.
TLDR; So not only is Viv using more gross jokes in her next season, but the character designs have gotten even worse.

I've been made away that Alastor didn't in fact live in the 1940s and 50s but the 1930s. i will say most of my points still stand, but here the men's fashion for his time period.
also that makes his radio show even more of an impossible achievement, in the 1930s majority, if not, half of the black men in America were out of work cuz of racism, discrimination and segregation, ya know, cuz the Jim Crow. White people called for African Americans to be fired from any jobs as long as there were whites out of work. Racial violence again became more common, especially in the South.
Tell me again Viv, how tf did Alastor even thrive??

Sure, 27 cm is still long, but the first thing you notice is the girth instead. Golden-ish tip and the harder he gets, the more the golden color spreads downwards.

I cant help myself.. what can i say. And since you've mentioned some research going on behind the scenes.. do you have any fun interpretations? Or even anything fun about the 1800s!

Hm. I don't have anything as fun as historical dancing, but I suppose this does give me the excuse (thabk u) to blab about Noir's childishness.
(wow putting this under the cut bc it got longer than I thought it would LMAO)
I think what a lot of people (including Noir's contemporary writers and yes even the spiderverse interpretation) fall for when trying to read Noir's character is the imitation of his idea of what an adult is, that he hides behind. Like Noir's persona is incredibly exaggerated. He's playing pretend. Look here, he's practicing.
A lot of his persona as Noir is imitation! Imitation of his uncle, of Urich, of the violence he's been exposed to. He's running around in his uncle's old uniform. Fundamentally misunderstanding WHY his uncle had been ashamed of it and his role in the war.
And then he goes ahead and steals Urich's alias because it sounds Cool (which is such a teenage thing to do jesus christ).
But like that imitation of The Adult isn't something that's limited to that exaggerated persona that Noir encapsulates. Peter himself is trying So Hard to be grown up and tough and responsible that it loops back around to him being a brat who would try the three guys in a trench coat trick. He even gets beat up for it when trying to defend his aunt. And I mean I've posted about him being a brat.

About how he looks at Urich as a Prime Example of what a strong and knowledgeable adult is (which is part of why he reacts so volatile in response to Urich showing he's not exactly as morally righteous as himself, he's wounded and let down). Whiskey? Whiskey sounds like someone Mature and Cool would drink, I'll have it too. And then proceeds to throw his drink at Osborn and laugh about it. The illusion was broken for me then.
But well it's not broken for everyone. I mean like obviously I poked at the contemporary writers, but I'm more talking about the other characters in the narrative. Mainly Urich and Felicia.
Urich taking Peter under his wing isn't entirely under the motivation to nurture Peter. I think it Becomes that, but he's really envious of that kid. He wants to see him lose that hope that he once had (ruh roh the opposite thing happened, being around the kid made YOU more hopeful Ben. Guess you gotta be good. Hope you don't die now).
Urich really is exposing him to an extremely harsh reality, and taking him places where adults are typically only allowed. He's letting Peter get a glimpse into what it's like, which will eventually enable Noir's tool of violence. All these tests will accumulate into what Peter thinks someone powerful and strong can be and do.
Then his problematic relationship with Felicia (writers I'm malleting you for this). He's clinging to her adulthood and the safety she represents, and he's young but she sees some adult strength in him. I mean she trusts him with the blackmail Urich gave her, which she really. Shouldn't, even if that's what Urich wanted.
Anyway, strength is something she's been consistently drawn to her in her partners. Strength to feel as her own. Even if it's to hers and others' detriment. There's also a part of Peter that's drawn to Felicia because Urich was. He's still honing in the good parts of Urich he wants to be.
I think the one person in the narrative who doesn't fall for it? Is Aunt May. You could argue it's just her being naturally motherly, but for someone who was about to be eaten alive she's pretty frank with Noir. I think she can see that that violence and exaggerated grittiness comes from someone inexperienced and young. Even if she can't consciously recognize the similarities between Noir's persona and Peter's protectiveness of her. I don't think she wants to see that. I actually have a short comic script about that, but it probably will never see the light of day.
Ugh he's like a cat puffing up to scare away a predator. It's fake!!!!! It's all fake!!!!!! He gets intimidated by JJ, he never ties his shoes, gets powers and then immediately guns to beat the shit out of Osborn, sings about the sandman when he's getting his face bashed in, crawls to Felicia all pathetic and sad, and he made a costume to run over roofs at night in.
And it's funny how he's forcing himself to grow up, but also really sad because all the things he's being exposed to is already forcing him to grow up. He's witnessing things no kid should ever see or experience.
Then there's the time period to consider. The aftermath of WWI, being in the midst of the Great Depression, and WWII just around the corner. He's faced incredible hardship and is going to continue to face so much hardship, and he's going to mature faster than he ever should have. It should have made him crash and burn Hard when he became an adult, and to me he still does because I'm ignoring everyone after ewaof LMAO.
As for my research on the 1800s NY that's for my own spider iteration run I'm working on, so not too related to Noir until I reach the 30's :3

Would it be alright if you did a Violet Evergarden prompt with her finding her readers suicide letter that they wrote before they met her and forgot about?
Finding S/O's old suicide note

[ SCENARIO ] [ Violet Evergarden ]

I like a lot this prompt! It is incredibly comforting for me! It has being a while since last time i seriously thought about all this stuff but it is still comforting
Violet is really caring, she has problems dealing with her own feelings and expressing them but one thing is for sure, she want to spend her life with you!
Violet isn't really someone who likes to pry in your privacy, she decided to put her trust on you and want to believe that you will tell her the important things even if it takes you time, so for her to actually find the letter it has to be because she has a good motive to look throught your belongings and has your explicit permision otherwise she wouldn't even think on doing such thing
She didn't think much of it when she first saw the letter, even if the paper was folded she would hesitant for a moment before undoing it to see the content, besides if the paper was hide between some of your belongings she may asume thats is something private and she would almost simply let it where she found it or even directly ask you if it is anything important
The only reason why she end up reading it was because with a quick glance she noticed that it was a letter, by being a automemory doll she can understand the importance a letter can hold and she felt some sense of responsability, maybe it was a letter you didn't finished or you forgot to send and if that is the case she would like to help you finish the job, thats the only reason why she end up reading it
Violet end up reading the whole note at least twice because she simply cant understand it, she quickly get what the message means but she doesn't fully process the real meaning of it, or at least she doesn't want to fully understand it, it is clear that the note express despair and even a goodbye but still Violet has a hard time trying to understand, it is that someone else send it to you? Where you trying to say a farewell to someone? Why did you even wrote something like this?
Violet is so confused and even scare of what the note could truly mean that it would be stuck in her mind for a while, she isn't foreign to death but she is to the wish of a self inflicted dead, still her mind refuse to connect the dots for being so scare of losing you. This situation feels like it is eating her alive, she doesn't know how to react wich lead her to don't even know how to aproach the topic to you, but as time pass it would be more obvious how there is something bothering her
It is probably that she won't be able to express her worries until you decide to ask her about it because she doesn't even know how to ask about it, but once you do it becomes easier, still she will start by apologizing for reading a letter you wrote
As Violet start to express what have being troubling her it become more obvious how scare and confused she is, Violet is unable to fully understand the wish to die and is even asking you to please explain it to her because now she is scare of losing you
She tries her best to understand the feeling but that doesn't make her feel any more better, even when you clarify that that letter is something you wrote long ago and you have even forget about it she will not be able to calm down yet, she is way too scare of losing you to calm down, she wants to ask for more information to not only fully comprehend but also help you but at the same time is scare of triggering you by accident while asking
It will take Violet a while to finally accept the idea that those feelings are now just part of the past, even if you destroy the note she will need some reasurance and time, and even after that she will try to make sure you don't have those feelings again, she doesn't want you to wish to be dead, she loves you too much to see you suffer like that and she doesn't know what will happen to her if she lose you too

HI!!! tysm for your ask <3 i hope you can find something to write amongst all the ideas. These are a bunch of ideas have written down in my notes/google drive/tumblr posts and have not got gotten around to. I still might at some point in time but feel free to use them. I will still do my own take if I get the time/motivation. There's simply so many, why not share and inspire some fics :)

General ideas:
Noah knows/learns spanish. Bonus points if Alejandro isn't aware until the perfect moment.
Alejandro thinks he can get away with flirting with Noah in spanish. Noah starts shit talking in spanish. Noah learns so he can hear all the little comments Alejandro keeps making under his breath. etc. so many possibilities.
Now that the show is over and Noah's off to college, he realizes he’s missing something in his life. Maybe it’s his friends, maybe it’s a lack of ever-looming danger, OR maybe it’s Alejandro. Who fucking knows. He’s too busy trying not to be in love with Alejandro to figure it out.
Their group project is failing, horribly. There’s one thing Noah knows for certain: Alejandro's to blame. At what point does slippery eel turn into a term of endearment?
They have never ever fallen asleep next to each other. Let alone in each other's arms. Never.
Time loop where Alejandro is stuck on the episode where Noah gets voted out and sticks himself to falling in love because he can’t let go of his pride long enough to simply let Noah stay in the game and move on.
Noah loses his contacts and starts wearing his glasses more often. Alejandro notices. Everyone notices Alejandro notices.
Alejandro and Noah team up to get their friends together (insert whatever ship you like) and end up together in the process/the other two were trying to do the same thing for them.
A commentary timeline on how Alejandro's charisma turn into exploitation, how Noah's patience turned into indifference, and how they parallel each other. (I've written a few hundred words for this one lol.)
Each thinks the other doesn't like them. Cut to third party POV that watches and witnesses them completely a mess for each other.
Noah, once voted out in I See London, learns about Alejandro's family. Who have been very vocal since the show started airing.
Exploration of how Alejandro tries really really hard. Yes, He's at the top of the class, but so is Noah. Noah who sleeps through classes and doesn't turn in homework and shows up late or simply not at all and is still right up there with him.
“I would kill to be like you. To just absorb all the information fed to me. If I were you I might actually- “(beat my brother) “Might actually what?” “I told you. I don’t want to talk about it, Noah.” - "Do you know how long I studied for that test? Hours. And you- You got a 96 with no effort at all." It was a 98. But this seems like a bad time to correct him.

I'm gonna be anonymous when I say this because I have seen this done by many people... I strongly dislike the "Error and Nightmare gang are the good guys and trying to make the universe stable while The star sanses are the idiots who will not see reason" .. Like... I .. really? I'm not sure if the reason why I don't like it is because I have seen it so many times or what but it annoys me dearly. The members of the star sanses are reasonable and they are just often made as one sided ignorant people- I mean okay Lets go on the different pov, on the bad sanse side: You see them risk their lives every day getting themselves hurt over and over again all to defend different worlds for the sake of bringing what they believe to be peace and you label them as the fools who just want all the glory- really??? people who get hurt over and over again just do it for that stupid reasons??? I mean come on! Seeing as generally it is shown that the bad sanses want peace as well why not be trying to reach an agreement??? you fight over and over again and you couldn't even be bothered to try and reach their heads to finally listen to what you are saying like what "in a way" dream has done with nightmare countless times but they cant do the same? Just have them fight knowing that the other side are in the wrong and you choose to do nothing but break them?? Like is this your pride or something?? Why are they labelled as good guys yet they allow the other side to fight to their deaths with a good motive in mind but they only lack the full picture?? How am i suppose to "root for you" if this is what you do????? We get inside information of how peaceful they are and how they care for each other deeply, but if you care so much for each other why would you allow the other side to keep fighting your loved ones when they are missing the big picture, you know the big picture yet you say... NOTHING. NADA. ZILCH!! you cannot tell me that they don't listen to you when you barely speak up about the true issue or find a way to show them- you maybe say it once or twice in the whole story and then any other time you go straight to fighting or just avoid them.. my two cents on this (that isn't something i said. a million times before already) is that it's usually because people refuse to see the star sanses in the same light they do the bad sanses the people who actively dislike the star sanses and what they do usually do so because they can't relate to them, from what i've noticed
the bad sanses are easier to root for because of the fact that they are made of struggle and the dirty, gritty parts of morality and life so to say it's easier to think of good things in the middle of so much bad, because it's in our nature as people to look for hope or root for the good, no matter how little it is having the ability to look for goodness and love in so much evil is a form of love in of itself everybody struggles and life sucks and sometimes the world is evil and sometimes we do bad things, but that's the thing, the fact that we as people find something good in the middle of it all (like finding familial love bloom in the bad sanses, as an example) is very inspiring. at least to me!!! that's how i see it!!!! that's how i like to think people see it as well because that's how i see and enjoy them together so i can totally see why people find more relatability and love for the bad sanses. i really do get it and i agree!! like a lot!!!!! i love them too
but that exact reason is also why it really sucks that people just don't see the star sanses in the same light?
i wanna reemphasize my point in relatability: it's difficult for most people to relate to the star sanses because inherently they are the heroes, the protagonists, the main characters, because nobody are any of those things i feel like people often put them on a pedestal because of their central tropes and characteristics. they have it all already, they don't need more praise, right?
i think the biggest problem people have with the star sanses, like your whole ramble very clearly shows, is that they don't humanize them i feel like a lot of people assume that just because they are good and choose to be good and are praised for being good, they are unreachable people don't think they struggle. that it sucks being that.
it's often why i like writing the star sanses with so much struggle and so much mental illness lol, because being good is fucking HARD and they're as imperfect as everybody else. dream is anxious, ink is brash, blue is a workaholic, stuff like that

idk, just like how i find inspiration in the bad sanses of finding hope and love in the middle of darkness, i really admire the implications of the star sanses when you actually decide to humanize them. because if you make the star sanses struggle throughout their praise, glory, and righteousness, it's...really admirable that they still choose to do good.

That fucking scene of them arguing in the car over Tom moving to San Fran is the worst fucking scene in the entire fucking movie. It is not only offensive as a scene to have in a Sonic movie, but it is also the best demonstration of how these movies utterly fail to be watchable films in general.
Let's just put aside the fact that that scene is an utter antithesis of Sonic the Hedgehog as a character. Let's just put aside that this is a scene in which SONIC. THE HEDGEHOG. Is telling someone "don't take risks by going to an exciting new place and do something you've always wanted to do. Stay in the comfortable and familiar place you've always known. Live your life by the obligations and expectations of other people instead of for yourself." We're not even going to get into how that is THE LITERAL EXACT FUCKING OPPOSITE OF WHAT SONIC THE HEDGEHOG WOULD EVER FUCKING SAY. Let's just ignore the fact that THIS IS THE QUOTE ON THE FUCKING BOX ART OF THE VERY FIRST SONIC GAME

Let's put that aside. This is the Pikablue movie. Let's put aside our knowledge and awareness of Sonic the Hedgehogs FUNDAMENTAL character traits. This isn't Sonic, this is Pikablue. Okay.
The scene still represents an absolute and total failure of the films ability to convey information to the audience in the way a movie is supposed to do. Any NORMAL audience member is going to watch that scene for the first time and be CONFUSED about WHY Sonic is upset at Tom for wanting to move to San Francisco. NOTHING IN THE MOVIE UNTIL THIS POINT has led us to believe that his desire to become a cop in San Fran is anything but a good thing. The entire introduction to Tom as a character is showing him being BORED and UNSATISFIED with his life as a small town sheriff. We are INTRODUCED to the character with him losing his mind to boredom at a speed trap.
The next scene we see of Tom is him being SO BORED supervising a cross walk that he makes a big hullabaloo over a family of ducks walking across the street.
Tom HATES his life in Green Hills, and he wants to move to San Fransisco to be a "real cop" who can actually make a difference. He literally says that he loves Green Hills and respects his family legacy, but his desire to strike out and achieve More with his life is framed as a purely positive and heroic motivation.
And his wife SUPPORTS THE MOVE and was looking up apartments on Zillow all day and even offers to fly out and look at places ahead of the job even being a confirmed thing because she LOVES HER HUSBAND.
WE AS THE AUDIENCE ARE PRESENTED WITH THE IDEA OF TOM MOVING TO SAN FRANSISCO AS A PURELY GOOD THING THAT WE SHOULD WANT TO ROOT FOR HIM DESIRING
There are ZERO. ZERO scenes of Tom actually HELPING the people of Green Hills. We are NEVER shown a SINGLE SCENE of anyone calling Tom for help with small town issues. The closest thing we get is Wade calling him during the blackout and Tom basically telling him to fuck off. We never see any scenes of the normal residents of Green Hills relying on Tom for their needs in day to day life.
So when Sonic reacts to Tom's announcement that he wants to become a cop in San Fransisco by giving THIS face
We as the audience are CONFUSED. WHY is Sonic reacting negatively to this information? We as the audience have been given no reason to view this ambition as anything but a positive and good thing. So the MAIN TITLE CHARACTER of the movie reacting to it with negativity is a SURPRISE.
And when Sonic's criticism of Tom is that he is abandoning the people of Green Hills who need him by saying this
our reaction as audience members is to say "when the FUCK did ANY OF THAT happen? Did I miss a scene?"
The movie DOESN'T ACTUALLY SHOW TOM BEING RELIED UPON BY THE PEOPLE OF GREEN HILLS AT ANY FUCKING POINT IN THE ENTIRE FUCKING MOVIE.
This is the DEFINITION of Telling Not Showing, and it's something we're being TOLD only at the critical moment of conflict. This does NOTHING but create CONFUSION in the minds of the audience. Who are we supposed to be supporting and siding with in this argument? Should we support Tom, whom the movie has framed as being righteous and justified in his desire to move? Or should we side with Sonic, who is the title character even though we have been given no reason to agree with his perspective?
The movie clearly thinks that Sonic is in the right in this argument, because at the end of the movie Tom turns down the job and decides to stay in Green Hills. What a disgusting fucking moral to end the movie with.
ALL THE MOVIE HAD TO DO was show a scene of the average citizens of Green Hills appreciating Tom for being their sheriff. For example, they could have thrown a Going Away party for Tom. Wade could have called him down to the local bar or something on an emergency call, he arrives thinking "oh yeah this is the time for something exciting to finally happen in this town!" and he rushes in with his hand on his gun hip. Only for all of the residents of Green Hills to be inside and they shout "SURPRISE!" with a big banner saying his name strung up or something, it's a surprise going away party for their sheriff. And Tom looks kind of disappointed because he was expecting a real emergency, but is obligated to sit down and be the guest of honor. Then they could have had different residents of the town get up and tell stories about times Tom has helped them with their humdrum little needs, and there would be many many many many of them telling these stories about cleaning out the gutters and jump starting cars in winter. And during this scene it would cut to Tom looking bored but polite, while over his shoulder watching through the window is Sonic who is enraptured by the stories.
If the movie had a scene like that, then we would at least understand that when Tom reveals his desire to leave Green Hills to Sonic we as the audience would be prepared to expect Sonic having a negative reaction to that information. But in the movie as presented, the argument comes out of FUCKING NOWHERE and Sonic's side of the argument is COMPLETELY UNDEMONSTRATED.
This movie UTTERLY FAILS at the BASIC fundamental prerogatives of BEING A FUCKING MOVIE. And more than that, it WIPES ITS ASS with the Sonic the Hedgehog character by writing their shitty pikablue ass protagonist to say something that is the COMPLETE AND TOTAL FUCKING OPPOSITE OF WHAT SONIC THE HEDGEHOG WOULD EVER SAY.
I HATE this movie. I HATE these movies. How ANYBODY enjoy these abysmal failures of visual story telling is utterly beyond me, LET ALONE how any SONIC FAN could be anything but OFFENDED by them.

I think Gwen has made a mistake but not in the 'shes stupid' kind of way
Gwen is a bit oblivious sometimes and definitely not prepared for the horrors but she's not stupid. she knows now how bad things would be if it was only her dealing with all this. By giving that flash drive to Trevor she's basically thrown Lena under the bus. Lena could be fired or worse.
Someone is sending Gwen this information. the 'anonymous third party' seems to know a damn lot about Lena. 20 WHOLE YEARS OF PROOF. that's a long time! :D they've been watching her and clearly they want her out of power but cant do it themselves so they are using gwen to do it. but if Lena is just kicked out, the OIAR is SCREWED. Lena is the only one who knows what's she's doing and even she is barely holding the place together. Gwen knows this. I understood at first why Gwen wanted Lena gone but now she knows the true horrors of what the OIAR does and how dangerous it is and Gwen hasn't mentioned wanting Lena's job since she learnt about this. Even if Gwen hates Lena, she knows its better to have someone who knows what they are doing in the midst. getting rid of her to deal with things alone is a dangerous move and Gwen wouldn't do that. Gwen's motives have changed a lot. She originally wanted Lena's job, then she wanted to know more, then she had a period of time she didn't really want anything and she was not content but she was putting up with Lena cause she knew the OIAR needs her. now she wants her out of power again? why.

I think it's the last email she got. this third party sent her an email last episode and suddenly now Gwen is using her blackmail and giving it to a government official? she could have done that at any time but didn't.
this is only a theory but I'm guessing this third party has basically said if Lena is out of power, things will still be okay. SOMEONE will take over and handle things. They have to be saying getting rid of Lena isn't dangerous cause they have preparations. Gwen KNOWS she can't handle it alone. I CANT STRESS HOW STUPID GETTING RID OF LENA WOULD BE IF THEY DONT HAVE A BACKUP. they have to. I think Gwen's maybe being manipulated here. Clearly this person does not like Lena at all. it just confuses me why they are only doing this now. they aren't related to the archivist Alice and Sam released cause they've been watching for so long. they have to be involved with the cameras watching them instead. the German source code. what Colin is losing his mind over basically. 20 years of proof. 20 years to do something. but they decided now to send this stuff to Gwen and push her in the right direction to give the evidence to Trevor. they are very good at timing things well. giving Gwen the information at the right time.
basically I think this person might be trying to run the OIAR but they need Lena out first and they are just straight up pupetting Gwen.
the only thing I can't figure out is it they are 'good' or 'bad'. what are their intentions after Lena is gone. what have they promised Gwen. who are they that they have convinced Gwen NOT having the only one who actually knows the full truths of the horrors there to help is better than having her
Gwen. I think you've made a huge mistake and Lena is so screwed. it's clear Lena doesn't actually have much power. the government shoves all this on her and just expects her to get it dealt with. they don't actually care and damn Trevor didn't even know what they do at the OIAR but he did have a go at Lena when she did something the government didn't like. she's being put under so much pressure to deal with all this alone and not even the government will help her.
I've said this since day 1 but I will defend Lena Kelley with my entire life. she's trying so damn hard but its physically impossible and she's getting in trouble for things she can't control and now Gwen might have just made it a million times worse

'Show me one time where he's genuinely a good person with good intentions, where selfishness, ego, and desire to survive and save the world so he can rule it isn't involved. There isn't any.' ehh, i don't know, id argue eggman saving tails in lost world counts. dude doesn't need tails to get past the yeti, only sonic. he yells 'tails!' to try and alert him and sounds generally concerned when doing so. He also makes the decision to save him in less than a second, meaning he didn't have time to weigh the pros and cons of saving one of his worst enemies, he just instinctively went to help him. mind you, this doesn't even contradict him threatening to turn tails into mincemeat in sa1, because as he explains, he's a complicated guy *shrug*. not trying to start any drama or anything, but i def believe there are a few stand out moments in game canon when eggmans 'human side' is shown that cant really be explained away without heavily reaching imo
I knew this could possibly be one of the moments someone could raise. But I have a response locked and loaded, I always account for everything and am ready to go lol. And I don't think it requires what I'd consider heavy reaching to explain away because I go by what can be seen/heard of game then carefully think about what it means while considering his character and what tracks with everything we know.
I see Eggman's save of Tails as calculated decision. There are a lot of benefits: Making the team up seem more genuine and convincing, winning Sonic over some more and possibly finally Tails after how hostile they were towards each other, the way the more is up against the D6, the better, and the way Sonic could possibly be less focused on the mission if he lost Tails. Also the bonus of how he'd prefer to kill both Sonic and Tails more personally than some random unplanned battle robot, just like Sonic falling into lava would've been underwhelming.
Eggman could see that he was starting to gain Sonic's reliability when he said that they need him to shut down his machine, while Tails wasn't happy about it and felt like Sonic trusted Eggman more. So if he jumps in and acts like a hero and saves Tails, it's going to help him seem more genuine and possibly win Tails over more too after their beef with each other. It makes sense for him to be prepared to act to seem convincing whatever it may be, even though he of course couldn't have predicted the modified robot to attack him.
I don't purely say this off vibes because when Sonic says "you could've gotten yourself killed" Eggman quickly smiles behind Sonic which makes him seem very suspicious I love it lol
It looks sly and mischievous for a guy who just saved someone's life, it's not giving "he did it out of the goodness of his heart", more like "yes it's working, Sonic said he 'can't figure me out', I'm convincing >:)"
If you think it's not possible that he could've thought that fast to weigh pros and cons, he had the plan to betray Sonic and Tails the moment they got him past the Deadly Six and back to his machine and new Eggrobo all along. So I contextualize everything within this. That gives plenty of time to plan on trying to make his facade of a willingness to work with them without any tricks all the more convincing. This is why I feel that him jumping in to save Tails was more calculated than it appears at first watch.
Plus, we know he can think and act that fast anyway. Because in the Lava Mountain scene where he fakes his death, he was planning to do that the whole time and was prepared but he couldn't have expected for it to be kicked off by the Deadly Six breaking the bridge. Yet he was able to quickly act to save Sonic, so he could still keep the Zeti back while he went to reprogram the machine and he could destroy him himself with his new mech as planned.
Him suddenly thinking fast to save Sonic was for selfish and sinister self motivated reasons, and I think it makes a lot of sense for the same to apply to Tails.
Shrugging it off and saying he's just a complicated guy was also the perfect thing to say that wouldn't make it obvious that he was trying to convince them to keep him around. Because otherwise they would've likely realized it doesn't add up with how he was acting just a couple scenes ago when he said he thinks he "liked it better when [he] was trying to destroy [Tails]" If he dismisses it in such a casual way that can't be disproven, he's not trying too hard to convince them.
But if you think parts of that are a little too speculative, though it does have a little something on screen and the context of why he's teaming up with them to support it, we can also go by how he visibly acts much more blatantly in the later cutscene at Silent Forest, when Tails falls into the trap.
Eggman has no reaction, he just stands and silently watches. Doesn't even have the slightest look of suprise or shock like the Frozen Factory Tails save cutscene, which makes the latter feel more performative of a response while he was right in front of Sonic.
He then gives Sonic a little speech while he's devastated to motivate him, so that he'll "make sure his sacrifice isn't for nothing", his sly way of saying "alright but you've still gotta help me, I'm not letting you get hung up on this" lol
He needs to make sure Sonic won't lose focus of their mission and still work hard and not lose hope, so he can get him past the Zeti and betray him later.
And he just gives a little "eh whatever" shrug while Sonic isn't looking again. Much like how he grinned when Sonic wasn't looking in the other scene. Like when Sonic isn't looking, you see the real same old Eggman and how he really feels about both situations.
It's really funny how much he just doesn't even react or give a fuck in this scene lol. I think it really testifies against him really caring about Tails in his previous save considering this is the next cutscene he's even in.
It makes sense for the reasons behind the save is a combination of performing heroics to seem more reliable in this truce because he was planning to betray them the whole time, along with how he expected Sonic to lose focus of their mission and not perform as well if he was devastated by the loss of Tails. So when he couldn't save him this time, he brings out the little motivating speech since it's all he can do now.
Especially since the modified battle robot would've certainly resulted in Tails' death which of course would've had a heavy impact on Sonic and could've affected his performance, while they weren't sure what the Deadly Six were going to do with Tails though Eggman did think of it as like a "sacrifice". So I see that as explaining his earlier actions of the save.
Like this, I can't think of any others that I wouldn't also have an explanation for that tracks with the way he's selfish and self motivated. Lost World, to me, really seems like another prime example of that instead. I love Lost World Eggman and just how much there is to explore and consider about his actions, knowing that he was using them and was going to betray them the whole time.
Eggman does a have a human side and genuinely human moments in the series because being human isn't being a good person. There are many ways to be. Selfishness is very human too. He has a bunch of human traits and moments that remind us that he's human and none involve him being a genuinely good selfless or caring person because it's not required for him to be.
I haven't seen anything that people use as examples of him being a good person that I can't find reasons to argue against and they don't require any huge reaches or speculation as there are always scenes and dialogue to support my points, like the stuff I used here. The more I go back and reanalyze, I only find more to support them despite my open mind and neutrality looking into it.
I only see a pure evil villain with a funny side who is exclusively self motivated only acts for purely selfish reasons that personally benefit him. Which tracks with the kind of egotist and narcissist he is, it's the strong defining core of his character that influences his mindset, goals, and actions throughout the series consistently. There isn't any scene where I can see any exceptions to this.
I encourage you to have your own take and disagree so we can have a discussion like this though. I understand you're not trying to start drama and respect your perspective, I'm interested to see and discuss and share my thoughts. I understand what it's like for people think it's your intention though, it sucks. This is always a chill space to agree or disagree as long as you're chill about it too. 🤝

I'm fearing the day when human alastor design on screen as I feel like it's gonna really make the show seem very racist as they where willing to change niffty demon design from yellow to a pale pink. But wouldn't change alaster skin nor hair. Like I understand because people are used to the design, but on the other hand, viv probably should have just made alastor not use voodoo and just literally anything else
Omg yes, 2 points to be made here.
ISTG Viv only gave Alastor the "he's half creole" label as an excuse to not draw black features on him, while yes it is true not all creole men are dark skinned, they're still black and have black features, so Viv' excuse is thrown right out of the water, then and there.
For example:
Vs
you see how the melanin is still there even though these are all different images of light and dark skinned creole men, they still have their features that make them creole men. Alastor doesnt have that. All he has is dark skin in his human design and that's it, there's no other black features.
Also idk where she's getting this idea that Alastor would even be allowed his own radio show, especially in the 1940s-50s. He would've had the worst time just trying to get people to take him seriously. Black owned businesses were a thing back then, however it was so difficult because of the racism, that for him to be able to do it all without any sort of mention of discrimination or a hassle is telling me Viv doesnt think that hard about these time periods.

Point 2.
I am pagan, i was raised into it. So you can probably understand why a lot of people, not just those who actually practice spiritual/occult practices, closed or otherwise, get real fucking pissed whenever its used for "ooo evil, scarwy, oh no satan aaaa" type bullshit. Its 2024 people dont do this type of shit anymore for horror or evil characters unless theres a literal reason.
for example:
American Horror Story S3 The Coven, uses allusions to paganism, witchcraft, wicca and voodoo, BUT even though it's used in a horror show, the use of the occult practices is used for both morally good and bad reasons, cuz just like nature there is no good without bad and vice versa. This is made especially clear with the character, embodying the real life Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau. Character Marie uses her practice for both good and morally bad things.
SPOILERS: She was responsible for giving Delphine LaLaurie an immortality elixir before murdering the LaLaurie family and burying Delphine alive. Then, Marie imprisons Delphine and hacks off her hand. For those who don't know, Marie is literally punishing Delphine for her actions towards others, [she's racist, watch the season if you really want to know her story and what all she did.]
Regardless of the moral implication, Marie used her practice for, what she considered to be, justice. She has a motive. Regardless of how some people may feel about AHS now, you cant deny at least they did their research.
However for Viv, Alastor's voodoo powers are strictly used for evil and there's no real reason given as to why he chose voodoo or even practices it.
Voodoo itself is a closed practice, for a reason. It also isn't something to make light of. How is it Viv can make a show that supposedly critiquing Christianity but she uses pagan and voodoo practices as stand ins for evil magic?? you are just perpetuating a stereotype that CHRISTIANS came up with. That the Occult/Spirituality is inherently evil.
& If Viv says "its cuz he's black and so he can," im going to actually scream.
Small correction: Alastor died in the 1930s so that makes his radio show an impossible achievement. Also the first black man to get a radio show host was in the mid 1940s. Alastor wouldn't have even had a chance.

Anyway, it's complicated. I've become burnt out creatively lately, and I've been part of the sanders sides Fandom since 2018, it's been a big portion of my life, I'm not letting it go that easily.
However, this is my main blog, and I cant really shift everything to a new side blog, so I do feel bad for those who followed me exclusively for sanders sides are now seeing a v distinct lack of it.
But for the most part, yeah, I'm burned out on a lack of updates, I was a fander creator doing as much as I could to create content to entertain myself just as much as for others in-between the hiatus-gaps while awaiting updates. I love these characters with all my heart, but every gap in between has gotten longer and longer, I can't keep waiting for a year at a time for one single update even if the finished product is grand and *absolutely worth* the time it took to make. I was scrambling, bc I no longer have the time I used to to create my own fanart and fanfiction and animatics for this fandom, and I can only reread the library of my favorite saved works over so many times before I feel hollow and under-stimulated.
It'd be one thing if the rest of the fandom was as active as it used to be, I bounce off others creative energy far easier than single handedly manifesting my own inspirations all the time. But it's not, and interaction with my own content slowed way down. (Not to say that I'm leaving just bc of this or anything, but its become a struggle to feel motivated to keep going when there's literally nothing new from Canon to keep riffing from.)
I have the want to finish my remaining fics, specifically The Lost Guardian in particular at the very least, but I just can't solely be a sanders sides blog like I used to be.
I'll be here when that season finale comes out, but at this rate of progression, I think Thomas has overestimated the fact that this could very well be a series finale, not season finale. And I've come to peace with that, if only Thomas would be more transparent abt it.
Sure, Thomas has other content, but funfact, I've had very relatively low interest in getting super into it, there isn't the same level of comfort in shipping characters of a single person with the versions themselves when other characters played by other people are involved, especially when u know that they are alot of his v close friends. I don't ship real world actors together, especially if they play a character very close to representing themselves. The characters they play, maybe, but that's why I'm far more entertained and comfortable with animated media.
In short, I'm tired and burnt out and for now-for *whatever* reason- the silly lanky clown jesters from fnaf have more of a grasp on my brain than sanders sides does. I'm following the serotonin.
I may still create sanders sides content in the future, but getting maybe 100-500 notes on a piece when u have a fandom following of roughly 11.5k followers from over the years has spoken volumes on how active the community is rn. I'm not leaving, but I can't be stagnant and hyperfixate on this anymore after doing so for almost 6 years straight. Yknow?
And for those who have always left a comment, shared my work, interacted with me in any capacity over the years in this fandom, and have made my time in this fandom worth while, thank you. I love you. U have made every second worth it💜

how naive i was to assume not having a job/no college for 7 years after highschool graduation would give me enough freedom to feel inspired, live life and pursue my creative endeavors
it's made me the complete opposite
lazy, uninspired to take action, sleepy, not mentally stimulated...
im here wondering why my life's been so stagnant, why i missed out on having "core experiences" in my early 20s (having irl friends/a job/house/etc, going out to travel, etc), feeling like the world's spinning and its leaving me behind, like its already too late for me to do anything to enjoy life
I have creative projects i just..... sat on, let them live in my head and imagination for years, that I haven't acted on yet because i..... idek the reason, its like this:
i have all the mental energy to get hyped about my projects, freely imagine them in my head, seeing a future for those ideas- but in terms of actually doing it??? im just unable to have the physical drive to pursue those.
so when ppl tell me to "get up and just do it already- dont think, just do or else you'll never make progress"..... it doesn't motivate me, neither does it actually get me excited to do it
if you were to tell me "hey vinyl, u graduated hs now time to go to college!!" in the years immediately after graduation, id fucking cringe and just lock myself in the room.. hs was a hellscape that socially negatively affected my mental health, so my introverted ass going thru another academia experience with social anxiety & being around the same kind of energy was the last thing on my mind
but now that I've wasted my early 20s doing nothing with my life, I finally realize what i need to do to make it out
and after 7 years missing out life, when i think about doing (online) college, i actually get fucking excited??? in a good way?????? i cant wait to fuckin flip thru textbooks and take notes bro, to (for the first time in my life) set myself a schedule and actually take academics seriously, to have fully online asynchronous courses so i could learn at my own pace
to finally give my life that work/play balance. because 7 years of my life's been nothing but 100% play (ex: doing hobbies, gaming, lazing around, sleeping, etc), and i have no one but myself to blame for that
(i know i mentioned me finally choosing to go to a community college weeks ago, i still haven't applied yet but i will before the year ends lmao- i just dont wanna rush into it, i wanna prepare)
....but then idk,, to say 7 years of my life was a complete and utter joke/huge waste isn't entirely true... im constantly learning about myself and those years definitely played a big part in my self-discovery and just see how my beliefs have changed thru time
uhhh yeah
tl;dr- as a 25-year-old artist with 7+ years of a no work/no school life + living w/ my parents my whole life, I've gotten absolutely zero shit done on creative projects and no forward progress in my life in general, so im going into my college/work era
the position I've been in for those years helped me grow as a person internally, but this era i was in has already served its purpose so its time for me to start a new chapter or smthn

I sent some asks to crow that never got answered so im not sure if im one of the anons you are referring to specifically. The last ask i sent was one giving my thoughts on extending the deadline as a creative myself. I cant remember all i said, but i was suggesting working on the project somewhat before you decide on whether or not to extend the deadline, suggesting that might be the best way to ensure the best quality final project. I was trying to give a suggestion as a creative, not trying to compare your project to my own creative projects, but it might have come off wrong.
I never sent anything in for a lot of personal reasons. Having my letter perceived by vessel was nervewracking, having my letter perceived by you two was nervewracking, im nervous about interacting with pretty much everyone online for reasons id rather not get into, and because the way you two were talking about the lack of submissions had me doubting my letter would ever get to vessel to begin with and having less letters sent had my fears of being perceived even stronger.
So maybe my suggestions arent particularly welcome because of that, i can understand that. I also was, to be perhaps a bit too blunt, frustrated with your frustration and to some extent or another passive aggressive. But for that last bit, thats unfair of me and i should be more considerate. Im sorry you two are struggling so much with this project not turning out as you wanted, and if i badly handled the asks i sent thats on me. Please try to take care of yourselves, stay safe, etc

First of all, thank you for understanding and also saying sorry. It means a lot.
The asks Crow received were mostly by a lot of anons, so we cannot actually tell which ones were yours and which not. But the quantity of anon-asks and us being frustrated, with the wordings of some asks (again, we don't know who the anons behind them were) made us upset and also very sad. Because we wanted to make that happen for all of you. The simple reason why we didn't want to extend the deadline was because we announced the ideas back before Christmas 2023. So there was plenty of time. And one can send us a DM and ask for more time if it was needed. We would have found a way.
But being passive aggressive and frustrated because we were (I hope you understand why we were upset etc.) didn't make it easier for us, and we lost motivation in this one. Because we felt like – we are not doing anything worth for Vessel to see, or thinking that you guys would not appreciate it in the end etc. We had serious doubts why we actually had wanted this to work and why we were still putting our hearts in it.
Its fine if you didn't submit anything in the end because of said personal reasons. We cannot blame you on this. But...
But... I don't want to repeat myself again.
It would have been a part of a project anyways.
Vessel would have gotten your message, maybe not in the book we aimed to do but maybe for another project. And we ensured that. Many times. So I don't understand this... We don't want to repeat ourselves all the time.
What I personally don't understand is the part of you being frustrated because we were frustrated. You are allowed to explain it but we were just because of reminding people and constantly dealing with asks of things that we already answered or getting compared to different projects, asking why it was the case of not getting too many submissions, extending the deadline etc. etc.
We decided to take a look if my final words ever reach people and what they say to it.
And then we decide what's best.
One is for sure:
This project isn't going to be handed over this year by me to Adam or Sam.

I always see people say Jill is the best Ghostface, even compared to the og Billy, and I'm here to explain why I disagree.
People always say that Jill is the better because she lasted longer, but from what I remember is that Billy and Stu specifically wanted to unalive Sydney on the anniversary of her mother's (Maureen's) death, another victim of Billy and Stu, and that was a year ago, Jill's motive was fame and that could have lasted however long she wanted, Billy and Stu's reveal was quick for that purpose.
While I do agree that Jill did make smarter decisions than Billy and Stu, who would have won if they didn't get so distracted and stab each other before killing Sydney, we cant deny they are also very smart. They had made drawn-out plans to get away with murder before, and that had been successful, all from just watching horror movies. They're also great manipulators as Billy had managed to make his victims daughter fall in love, date, and take her virginity. Stu and Billy had made all of the friend group trust them. And we can assume Billy had managed to persuade Stu to follow through with the plans in the first place.
Physically, there is no denying that Billy had a way higher physical advantage on Jill or anyone else, as he had managed to break a glass window by jumping at it. Fought against Sidney Prescott. Billy should be comparable to Stu Macher, whom he traded stabs with. Billy knocked out Gale with a kick. Overpowered many people many times (Sydney, Hung Casey Becker from a tree), not to mention he had caught up to Sydney and Casey multiple times when they ran, even when he was harmed.
Durability wise, Billy was unharmed from tumbling down the stairs, which could leave head injuries. He had traded stabs with Stu Macher. Withstood getting two glass bottles smashed on him. Briefly survived a gunshot wound. Was only temporarily stunned after getting stabbed in the heart with an umbrella by Sidney.
If there was anything I forgot to add or mention, please tell me. Also, this isn't hate against anyone. I just think Billy is the better Ghostface (Plus Stu, but I was mostly talking about Billy)

ayup it’s the person that sent those vera things like a week ago ?? yk the one that made a fool of themself by rambling about ur oc ! anyways i reread it bc ofc i did and. idk. it’s such an amazing fic like genuinely and i felt a need to express it. like outside of how well-thought vera is and how interesting her dynamics with marvin + leon are (and claire ofc) and just. the pacing and story progression. it’s all so well done. and i’m sure someone has told u this in ur ao3 comments but the way ur reinterpreting canon a lil and having vera shake things up is so fun and genuinely interesting which is why i went back and reread it all. it feels like there’s a lot i kinda missed the first time round with the nuances of vera’s character which was. very fun to go back around and see again. hope ur doing well <3

first of all you are A CHAD. The fic is 100K words oh god I can't imagine -- im happy it was more enjoyable the second time around at least 😭😭😭😭 It's amazing to hear that despite the fat word count, you think the pacing and progression is going well!
Unrelated tidbit but I really didn't know how to introduce Vera before starting the fic and was debating on starting from pre-RE2R in the summer of 1998, spend five chapters and so with Vera assisting Jill in her investigation and unravel things from there. But at the end I was like "literally nobody would read that" and thought what best technique is there by starting right in the middle of action and chaos? And the rest I winged it.
That had to mean I had to go through EVERYTHING about her life and how she got to that point by peppering the events throughout the plot as Leon and her story also progressed alongside it, and I couldn't gloss over anything, so it just expanded and expanded and expanded and I'm sure got boring as hell at places since she hides a bunch of shit from the others and good god do they have to be integrated to the plot of re2r AND UGHHHHHHHH. Thank you for telling me I havent messed up LMAOOOOOOO
About the canon. I have a bone to pick with some of the game and the story, I don't like how they went about a couple of things. This is me trying to lay the groundwork to fix them and everything by tweaking .
For example Leon pulling the "i have to talk to the chief first" bs and saying "Idk what happened it happened to fast" to ada like he was trying to make excuses like a child to his parent really irked me, especially in the original re2 he bent over backwards to get ben out of the cell so he could come along with them. (dont talk to me about how a law-abiding rookie he's supposed to be. that could have been done better. leon simply isn't a person to leave someone like that, and he was hearing about chef irons the writing on that could have been better) And the way Claire and Leon barely interacted when they are the core of re2 together was just not it. The lack of Sherry and Leon together was also weird when Sherry is a big part of why he was taken by the government and stayed, and how Sherry blatantly says he saved her in RE6. (I know they just completely wiped the slate clean off Sherry and Leon with RE4R backstory by just saying Leon just didnt have a choice but like. yeah) and also Ada. God Ada "(to the woman she wants to discreetly capture. since she's A SPY) We're here for the g-virus and i will now proceed to jump in front of the bullets" & "Where's Leon when I need him (has treated him as a nuisance the whole way)" Wong. Im sure there are a lot more things but i cant think of them rn but I am annoyed with Things
SORRY I JUST WENT OFF ON A TANGENT. But like. Having Vera involved and having her existence be a reason on changing things around is so much fun. I could just expand on child experimentation and the truth of the orphanage through her, it was always something wildly bothering me that they kept that plot so subtle in Claire's story. Birkins (or maybe just William. we'll never know) were using children in G-virus experiments WHY DIDNT THEY TALK ABOUT THAT MORE DUDE? That's why canon divergence makes things so much more interesting because it's not just transcribing the game and inserting an OC along the way, it's changing things and making new things up, keeping things fresh
