Hi Weird Question, but how many followers would you ballpark say you have gotten from posting about qsmp?

I ask this because Ive been on tumblr for a LONG while, I have run multiple fandom blogs and this is the worst follow to notes ratio I have ever gotten for a blog (it is relativity new as well though). I don't want to sound weird and complain about the number of followers I have, but of the 523 posts in my blog, 38 are original posts. I have 236 notes total from those 38. and zero followers. compared to when one of my other blogs was at this size I would have somewhere of a ballpark of 10ish especially with a few posts chilling way above the average of 6 notes

I feel like this could be an issue much like the issue pertaining to people not reblogging stuff, but also I may need to reevaluate the way im interacting with people on this site >_<.

that's kind of a hard question bc i was gaining followers from the trigun fandom very shortly before i started posting about qsmp, so there was a period of overlap, but i guess when i switched to posting primarily about qsmp i would say i've gained approx. 350-400 followers. i typically get anywhere between 100-1000 notes on any qsmp post i make (excluding liveblogging) and i am apparently a more popular blog because i write fanfiction and make analysis posts on occasion which has made me weirdly well known in some places of the fandom and that is terrifying i hate being perceived HELP

ANYWAY i think a better blog to use as an example would be when i had to use a new blog because this one was unfairly flagged for a couple weeks. i used a previously unused sideblog to liveblog and make posts on since posts on my main wouldn't show up in the main tags. i typically got a fair amount of notes, anywhere between 50 to 200 on each post, but i only ended up with maybe 4 or 5 followers on that blog (excluding mutuals i had advised to follow that blog as a backup in case my main went down forever [which it didn't thank fuck]).

honestly?? i assume the lack of following is because a lot of people in this fandom are very wary. qsmpblr likes to hail itself as better than twitter (and it is in some respects for sure, i'm not denying that), but it feels like everyone in this fandom has some kind of Opinion on Something at all times. there's always something to complain about or criticize about anything, whether it be the admins, an event, another cc's character, a cc themself, etc etc. if you follow a person you will be subjected to all of their opinions on every single issue that pops up, even if it's just a dismissal of whatever current discourse is making its way through the tag (and i'm guilty of this myself sometimes, i'm no angel here). there is not a single day that goes by without something negative crossing my dash regarding something that's going on with the smp. doesn't matter what it is, someone will have something to say about some kind of issue no matter what, and that shit gets tiring. sometimes it's better not to follow people lest you find yourself bombarded with opinions. that way you can still scroll your dash without worrying about seeing untagged discourse and infighting and criticism.

The value of eggs for some reason in this Fandom was weirdly adjusted by exposure and time spent with BBH. Which is the most frustrating thing in my personal opinion.

They are all important and were important before they did or didn't hang out with BBH.

Even lullah only started getting more praise after she started showing up later in the evenings to hang out. This Fandom was mean to her over and over.

Outright saw someone GLAD she was gone. Called her a "cop out player bait" character. She got so much backlash for having arguments or disagreeing. Her, Pomme, Leo, Em and Sunny all played very complex characters who didn't fit the mold perfectly on how little girls should act and this Fandom hated them all differently for it.

This is entirely Fandom neg here lmao. Image an annoyance shaking their head at the tags frequently. Yall don't know how to behave sometimes. I'm not asking you all to like every single character ever and like everything that they do. But sending death threats and wishing characters would die or be removed entirely is some of the most selfish pissbaby behavior in existence. Sometimes characters you don't like exist! Tbh from what I’ve seen, a lot of people who disliked Pomme being adopted by bbh were from the french side of the fandom and it came from their criticism of cc!bbh (which I would argue was quite valid to an extent) but in some cases it got too intense

I want to be done complaining about chot I really do, I hate being so negative about a book I waited and yearned for, for so long, but there’s one more thing that annoyed me greatly, and, per usual, I want to know what yall think

Today’s subject is our Blackthorn sibling duo.

I wanna preface this by saying that Grace’s povs were one of my favourite parts of Choi.Her character in itself adds grayness to a narrative of angels and demons, good vs evil, and I really enjoyed all the complexity and layers given to her.I ended Chog cursing her name to the wind swear to god, the cursing emoji was a perfect visual representation of me when she put that thing on james again, but in choi cc achieved exactly what she aimed for with grace :” an explanation, not an excuse”

However, I feel like all that information we were given in the previous book was completely wasted in Chot.The characters never find out that she was threatened into putting the bracelet back on James, or that she tried to take it off at his wedding. Her motivations, too, are never known.The way it was portrayed, it looks like Grace stayed so long by Tatiana’s side bc she truly had some sort of fetish for torturing men, when, in reality, it was all for Jesse 

She could’ve begged for sanctuary in an institute, once she became old enough, she could’ve fled with Magnus when he offered to help her in TMH, but she never did.Grace never left bc leaving Tatiana would also mean leaving Jesse and what was all that for? home boy discarded her like some rancid food at the first opportunity  When she went to Curzon street to demand James kissed her? That was for him. Even that train wreck she caused by the end of choi was for him, bc she couldn’t bear the thought of controlling her brother and twisting his feelings for her.To me, this is some very relevant info that should’ve become known if all the secrets were going to be revealed, AND YET NONE OF THIS IS ADRESSED IN THE GODDAMN BOOK

Now about jesse.I had great expectations for him in this last installment, the first one in which he’s alive, but my main take away is that he has become an extension of Lucie’s feelings and opinions, in the most symbiotic way possible, with no personality of his own.

In choi we find out that Grace withstood a lot of physical and psychological abuse from Tatiana that he didn’t know about.I was expecting them to have a true heart to heart, they would discuss everything that went down when they were kids, not just james and the bracelet, and jesse would not only feel guilty about not being able to protect his little sister, but also decide to stick by her side no matter what.

And yes, he could’ve done that while also condemning her mistakes and treatment towards James.The two are not mutually exclusive, and would do justice to his little speech about complicated stories, which, to me, is a very hypocritical spiel since he decided to become his sister’s jury, judge and executioner

I never thought I would say this in my life, but I was infuriated on Grace’s behalf reading their scene in the silent city.Everything about it was very odd, Grace conveniently for cc withholding something so important, the way she explained herself, his storming off. Jesse had never had ONE conversation with Cordelia in his life, he barely knew James, can a kind soul explain to me WHY he would be more concerned about their marriage than his actual sister? Considering his beloved had just done necromancy (YES, Thats what it was, even if it was a unconventional form of it.Bro was dead, then bro was alive again, just like that. N e c r o m a n c y) his moralism is very hypocritical and his understanding of nuance lacking

It irked something so deep inside me to see not just kit defending a girl he barely knew tooth and nail over his cousin and life long friend, but also Jesse not giving a fuck about his sister.They were talking about leaving Grace completely isolated from society (that was disgusting btw, it was up to their authorities to decide her future, not a bunch of teenagers thinking they can treat a person like a broken doll, to be put away wherever they feel like it) and Jesse looked like he couldn’t spare a visit. He seemed more than eager to put Tatiana AND grace behind him in order to start a new life with the herondales. So much for them being all each other had growing up and his so called loyalty

As some last thoughts bc this is getting way too long, Grace should’ve been the one to kill Tatiana.That wasnt Cordelia’s business and had no emotional significance. When that fight happens Grace looks the polar opposite of everything Tatiana ever groomed her to be.She is dirty, shoeless, bedraggled and feral looking, Lucie even thinks that grace’s little training would only be useful if she got close enough.Imagine, my siblings in christ, Grace slitting Tatiana’s throat, after she kills Grace’s only friend, while she is distracted with Rupert.Tatiana molded Grace into her blade, and that Blade was responsible for her end.Feel the sheer power of it, the poetic justice that could’ve been ours.

I also think Grace should’ve been sent away to the scholomance (against her wishes, hence the I didnt choose this) for intensive training both bc she’s really behind in it, and as a punishment from the clave.Its not like she had a place to go to, and staying at her ex fiance’s parent’s house is not the way to go. . 

This new scenario would give her a fresh start to properly heal and eventually make friendships/ find love without the taint from the past on her heels.Her hanging out and chilling with James and his friends has no sense and is a disrespect to his abuse.James doesnt need his abuser living in his uncle and aunt’s house, Grace needs to start her life over where her past won’t haunt her everyday

i feel like... maybe this is just me but ive been noticing this weird kind of disturbing trend of people being way overprotective of the CCs whilst increasingly aggressive towards their fellow fandom artists/writers.

We all love gem on here. i think it'd be preaching to the choir to say she didn't deserve the hate she got for. Existing in the series or whatever people were mad about. but more and more people seem to think that any negativity is Bad and Affects The CCs and when they list examples it's all like. idk. ppl not liking the SL mechanic or the watcher lore or certain gimmicks (zombie apocalypse comes to mind) etc etc

while we are not owed any level of quality for entertainment getting put out by mcyters For Free, this is still a series that means a lot to me and most of the fandom take it seriously. so it can be disappointing when it feels like decisions are made for the sake of rushing things or forcing something specific to happen. Limlife is my least favourite season by a pretty long margin because i think it was pretty apparent the cast were very burnt out during it and I would like for them to make the series at their own pace instead of doing that. I still loved limlife and think it's super funny i just think it was weighed down by a lot of things.

when secret life came to close i loved the ending but the fandom space. scared me a little and it still does kind of reek ngl. i saw blocks of text telling people to shut the fuck up about their favourite pairings or characters because How Dare they not appreciate every other person just as much Alot. and now im seeing people say we should "know our place" as fans and never voice our "entitled" discontent because the poor CCs are just doing this for fun. as someone who tries to dig deep on every individual character and relationship it just all felt a little bit. This + ive been seeing a lot more people recently who are like. very very mad about the way people draw the CCs?? i know i do my fair share of hating on hybrid designs and being the fun police but like. people are genuinely out here accusing others of being Evil for not drawing specific body types to match characters to CCs while in the same breath saying that character/CC divide is obvious. +people being mad about like. arghh ear wings are dumb!! everyone who draws [specific headcanon] should be melted into wax!! so on and so forth

My main team consists of Tighnari as main DPS, raiden as sub DPS, Venti as cc and zhongli for shields and being my favourite.

I dropped my xiao some time ago because I want to have fun with as many characters as I can, but i still use him in the abyss (I mean, he is almost triple crowned, only his normal attack is on level 8). Although I still feel guilty for leaving him, diluc, Barbara and kaeya behind, but I want to have fun with new characters as well and dendro reactions

(oh dear, I hope xiao don't hate himself for that, poor baby)

I pulled for tighnari on his banner and build him almost immediately, so foxboy knows he is loved. He also has only 5 star weapon on the main team (thundering pulse that I got by accident). He surely knows that he has better fate than cyno, that I got by accident when I was pulling for some four star on his banner. Cyno is level 50 with two star artifacts just like my qiqi, because I don't have any other use for him. But still, I had to get into hard pity for raiden and now I don't have much left for alhaitham, and I feel like he has something to do with it.

Raiden was build to level 60 in a single day, now being close to 80, with burst on level 9 and maxed out catch on the start. I also put her on my team after I got her (was using Fischl/Keqing as placeholders). Since she is my newest addition that I use more than others to test her and for fun, that might be a reason to panic for others I guess.

Venti is the most replaceable on my team. It sounds brutal and all, but he is on that third slot where I switch to low leveled characters (currently my level 40 beidou) to level up their friendship level. I like his crowd control, but for the reactions my kazuha/Fischl duo is way better. And I think he knows that, as he is being switched the most

Zhongli, my dearest. He is loved alright. I wanted to go for the staff of homa for him, but hutao and yelan look too good to pass. He has the meteor crowned, and shield close behind. I even leveled up his normal attacks when I wanted to make him a physical DPS (yes, I tried). Now he is a hybrid with 28k hp and 60/180 crit/dmg ratio. And I use him on almost every team, no matter who I want to use, he is usually there, in his 4th slot that I use for healers/shielders. Although I feel like he would be jealous of how quickly I level up new additions. But I did had to spend money on him, because he sent qiqi my way.

tighnari be like "who are all these alarmingly powerful people" lmao-

samee i've been playing around with different characters (also bc i want to increase them friendship levels) but xiao is my go-to dps too, he's THE goat in my squad. my golden child <3

so far i only have xiao and zhongli triple-crowned. al haitham's gonna be triple crowned too once i manage to farm for the new materials haha i've been quite lucky with the mirrors, so fingers crossed he can be triple-crowned soon!!

While videos where the OP is more "present" have comments that have more of a direction towards the OP, these comments seem to be speaking to themselves or to one another. Something I didn't fully anticipate in this section of my research was the level of relelvancy the role of 'self' would have. I knew it was unavoidable but I did not know it would become nearly key. I bring this up now as it has been in the gameplay of StarStable that I have really enjoyed the American Saddlebred, and felt personal sadness to see a near-universal preference for a different breed (the Dutch Warmblood) when discussed in Global chat (when another user inconspicuously asked people to share their favourite between the two). The comments on this video reflect hte dubious response to this breed - with comments such as "It’s like a love hate situation right now I’m so lost". In this breed of horse in particular, there is also a discussion on "humane" treatment, as horses with gaited breeds can sometimes have the gait achieved through inhumane means - I am not particularly versed in my own understanding of this.

"Whew that's a relief it looks really good! They got the gaits spot on and humane lookin. 🎉 They look full of attitude 😂 The movement is very fluid hats off to whoever designed this model honestly.😂'

Another interesting feedback seen through the comments is a range of users being unhappy witht he "idle" animation being incredibly active. It is curious that users are against an active idle animation - would one not enjoy their simulate creature seeming more alive through its animations?

So he brought Dex home, got him cleaned up n stuff, completely unaware Dexter is sentient and ya know,, alive,, and he just goes about his night completely fucking oblivious to the doll trying to kill him (Btw, CC has three dogs, Cash, Winnie The Pooch, and Tootsie Roll)

Dexter is completely at a loss and goes basically like WTF DO YOU MEAN IF IM GOING TO STAY HERE, WHY ARENT YOU KICKING ME OUT? WHY DONT YOU LIKE HATE ME,, OR FEAR ME OR SOMETHING- (oh btw I forgot to mention CC had called Dex a cute doll, cute, adorable, etc before this incident took place,, which is a big thing bc in canon peeps usually call him an ugly doll which ...he is but i love him)

CC just shrugs at him and tells him that he likes him, he thinks hes kinda cute, he seems like good company when hes not angry n such and Dex just goes . . . . . . Alright, fine, deal- fhjgdkdgjfs and that's how CC acquires husband number u n o (I do have an AU where CC dates Dexter when hes not possessing that Happy Fella Doll, literally nothing special its just an AU where Dex is alive)

Dexter also felt guilty for how they first met for the longest time, apologizing and making it up to CC in the long run, hell even now he can get a little scared sometimes that he'll wind up losing control (even tho Bob and or Frank have both said they'll fucking punt him if he tries ...CC didn't approve of that...)

CC has made Dexter his old exterminating outfit as well, he seen ADs and pictures of what Dex looked like before the doll possession (he has found that bit out,, I forgot gfhfjkdfgds he found that bit out and feels terrible for Dexter, the way he went and now that hes stuck in a body he'd rather not have)

So CC decided to sew up a lil present for Dexter, he made the old exterminating outfit and even his fucking bag to the best of his ability, when he showed Dexter that surprise, he literally fucking cried and hugged CC so much after that

Next up, CC met Frank in quite possibly the dumbest way possible,, CC loves to stroll at night alone and he saw an ice cream truck in the distance, he got excited in hopes he'd get some late night sweets, and he knocked on the window ...When nobody answered he got curious, wondering if this was abandoned orrr not

It's not... He goes inside only to discover Frank, literally... Well doing his stuff, the kidnapping thing- the druggin bit- ya know,, EITHER WAY- CC saw this, Frank looked back at him (them silly lil fnaf lookin ass eyes just wide as could be) CC was standing there before literally just blinking and being like ...wow,, your hot, and tall, and beefy anyways can I get some ice cream big guy???

Frank deadpans at CC (HE SAYS THAT BTW, OUT LOUD, NO FILTER) and just literally blinks before grinning "Hehe... Sure..." CC's encounter with Frank was the most fucking tame one out of the bunch, Frank did question if CC was going to tell anyone bout this but CC just shook his head 'nah man, idc lol oop' and then Frank gave him a fucking ice cream, free of charge

...NOT- NOTHINGS IN IT BTW DONT WORRY GHJFKJGFHDFKS its legit just actual ice cream

CC then wanders off after that but Frank p much comes back to chill and hang with CC ...He does have some major beef with Dexter when he sees him at first tho like ...YOU, YOUR THE ONE THAT BIT ME, YEAH AND YOUR THE ONE THAT PUNCHED ME (before they became buddies with one another, when CC was not around, they'd fuckin fight,, have a full on smackdown and then when CC was around they'd act like angels)

After awhile of hanging out, I don't have specifics on how it happened actually, but there's husband number 2 for CC- and then finally,, the one you'll be a lil familiar with Friendo Mitch!! Its Bob time!!

Sooo CC and the two lads, Frank n Dex went to Boys n Grills bc they h u n g y, Frank drove em of course in his van,, they got inside, immediately noticed CC has a fucking crush on the big guy and just INSTANTLY tease him about it (Btw if I haven't made it crystal clear, CC is Polyamorous)

CC gets a lil shy bc the boys are fucking teasing him over this and then they order food, CC orders just fries bc he cant eat burgers or his tummy hurty, Dexter doesn't eat bc well, hes a doll now- and Frank gets a burger

After they ate, the two literally fucking let CC work his magic,, just being like you got this lil man,, before they just fucking left (...JUST BACK TO THE VAN HJGFKDJDGF T-THEY DIDNT LEAVE HIM A T BOYS AND GRILLS) and then CC was alone with Bob.

Bob had been noticing CC was shy with him this entire time,, he had noticed it from the start and well all I'll say is the fucker didnt help matters- but also he thought CC was nervous about him which is why he decided to try scarin CC with some of his cannibal facts but CC is again a fucking dumbass

He INSTANTLY lights up and takes out a notepad and goes "Tell me more!" he's interested in the facts bc well hes a horror writer and Bob is giving him some good pointers for that topic ...Bob actually gets a lil happy someone enjoys his facts for once but also weirded out bc wtf ur supposed to be scared? ...He tells him facts for a bit before CC says he has to go, that it was nice meeting him!

Later that night... Bob in his true fashion had broken into CC's home bc I mean, if I haven't established it also yet,, I have picked the worst three to latch onto, they aren't good (...well to CC they are, I need to clarify btw, they are NOT mean or abusive or some weird shit to CC, they are genuinely loving, caring partners to him BUT!!! CC is not going to try and change them either, he loves them just for them, he's kinda,, mm I wanna say CC is morally grey if thats the right term to use,, bc he wont necessarily do anything bad ..Unless you hurt his dogs or husbands... but usually he's morally grey)

ANYWAYS- Dexter heard it but he just thought it was one of CC's dogs messing around, bc he also heard some barking from the dogs, he knew Cash sometimes gets late night zoomies, but a few mins after CC gets up bc sometimes he cant sleep and just decides fuck it, imma head out-

so CC heads into the kitchen to get himself some water and then encounters a big ol devil fella, breathing heavily and standing there in the kitchen, turning to face him, before Bob can even say a fact, CC waves with a polite smile "Oh hey Bob, what's up?" The man fucking looks shocked "...How'd ya know it was me?!"

and they just scream "CC,, THATS THE GODDAMN CANNIBAL FROM THE NEWS, WTH ARE YOU DOING?" CC just shakes his head "It's fine, it's just Bob" and then Dexter and Frank realize "...wait shit fr?" Bob takes his mask off and just goes "Sup?"

...And so husband number three slowly gets required, not right off the bat btw,, CC didn't just automatically form a relationship fgjkdlgdjfsd thats not how it works

Squeamish Anon again (I can't seem to stay away :)). What are some of your favourite things you've discovered in the scripts? Maybe something unexpected, or something that confirmed your interpretation of a line or a scene, or something wildly out of character that got cut. (And just to say again, thanks for sharing - you're golden!)

Well Squeamish Anon, I don't think I had really understood that Scully was jealous of Fowley in the romantic sense in 'The End'.

It wasn't until I saw it in black and white on the page that it was true.

Arguably one of the first legitimate acknowledgments of MSR in @thexfiles.

Mulder for the first time is considering what could be feelings of jealousy... A total surprise when reading the script.

In terms of a 'cut line'... I mean this is a doozy...

Oh and the bad taste scene where Mulder jokingly hits on a rape victim who is unconscious. Not funny.

I think how they edited or restructured 'Three Words' was interesting. It plays out differently on screen. It wasn't clear that Scully was trying to tell Mulder something.

The odd thing about the X-Files scripts is that the writers or CC will add notes wherein they imply that they themselves don't know what the characters are thinking or what's going on. For example;

"Mulder puts his hand there, too. It’s an intimate gesture, particularly since we still don’t know Mulder’s exact connection to the baby."

But you do know! You're the writer!!

‘Mulder and Scully lie asleep. Scully’s arm draped over Mulder’s torso in a way that suggests… who knows?’

But you do know! You're the writer!!

In terms of confirming my own interpretation. I really appreciate the detail Morgan and Wong put in their scripts.

Finally, my personal pet hate in the script notes is Scully being shamed for being sexually active and unmarried by other characters.... 😐

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show it?)

Sapnap is very affectionate, even though at times he'll refuse to admit it. If someone was to straight-up ask him if he's an affectionate guy then he would just deny it.

He will constantly be trying to hold your hand when you're in the outside world, but on camera will dial the affection down due to some of your fans being hateful for the fact you two are together.

He will come up behind you at random times and latch onto you like a koala and will refuse to let you go. He will occasionally do this on stream as well.

B = Before (What were they like before they asked you out?)

Sapnap always used to blush around you, and would occasionally stutter when you'd ask him something because he'd usually get caught staring at you. He would always make sure to include you in conversations or would make plans with you or include you in any group plans that you could join.

But god help him if he got caught stuttering and blushing in front of Dream because then the older man wouldn't stop teasing him for it. He did offer Sapnap advice on how to act around so he was less nervous around you. Dream also gave him some advice on how to ask you out which he may or may not have used later on.

C = Cuddle (how do they cuddle?)

Sapnap is either being cuddled and partially laying on top of you, or you're trapped in his arms and you can't move as he spoons you.

He loves to just wrap himself in your arms as you run your hand through his hair. There's just something about it that makes him feel so safe and loved, that it's now become his new favourite way to cuddle you. He'll lay his head down either on your chest so you can access his head better to give him head, and the occasional beard scratches. He just melts under your touch and sinks into you. Sap will also wrap his arms around you without making it too uncomfortable for his arms to go dead but enough so that he can still hold you.

Other times, he'll pull you into him and just cling onto you like a koala. Sap will have one arm under your neck, and the other around your waist, pulling you into him. However, sometimes he'll make you face him so that he can see your smile and whisper you endless compliments as his arms wrap protectively around you.

D = Dreams (Do they picture their future with you? If so, is there anything specific they want?)

Sapnap has pictured a future with you many times. He loves you so much that he never wants to leave you and can't imagine anyone else being in his life. With the exception of George and Dream, because who doesn't want those two in their lives.

E = Everything (You are my ___ e.g. my life, my world…?)

You are my ender dragon.

Call him cringe but because the ender dragon is like the end game boss and that's one of the goals of Minecraft, he's pictured it as his end. You are the final thing he wants in life. I mean, there are a few things he does want but that's behind the point. You are his finale and he couldn't see it any other way.

F = Feelings (How did they know they were in love?)

He didn't. Not at least until Dream points it out to him fully that Sapnap need to stop being a wimp and confess his feelings to you before he misses his chance.

This caused Sapnap to take a full step back and actually realise that he had feelings for you. After spending many days over thinking and reassurance from Dream about feelings and such, he finally came to terms with the fact that he was probably in love.

G = Gifts (How do they feel about gift giving? What are their habits when it comes to this?)

Sapnap likes to give you gifts. He pays attention to what your interests are and will listen when you ramble about it. From these conversations, he'll store you're favourite character or thing about it and will hunt down any items or merchandise from that for you.

If both of you are into the same thing and he can get hoodies to do with it, he'll buy two of them in a larger size so he can wear both and let them smell like him for you or will make you wear them first.

It became a regular thing where once every week or two he would gently throw a parcel at you that contains the new thing he got you. This has sometimes led to you trying to convince him to stop spending money on you but because Dream hasn't started making him pay rent he has a bit extra left to splurge on you, and himself of course.

H = Holding Hands (How do they like to hold hands? Is there any time they’re against it?)

If the option to hug you isn't available, Sapnap will latch onto your nearest hand. He doesn't care how he holds it, just that he gets to hold your hand.

A lot of the time he will thread his fingers between yours and rub his thumb across the back of your hand, but he's not opposed to holding your hand any other way.

I = Injury (How would they act if you got hurt?)

He goes into full-on panic mode whenever you get injured.

It doesn't matter to him if it's just a small paper cut or a broken bone, he will become a mother hen. The first aid kit is always stocked with anything you could potentially need and he always makes sure to buy plasters every time you go shopping for groceries. And god forbid you end up in the hospital, he is panicking out of his mind.

If you have periods, he will check on you at least four times each day to see if you need or want anything because he doesn't want you to be in pain, especially after he learnt that period cramps were smaller versions of contractions that would happen during labour. Oh boy does he make sure you're okay.

J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous easily? How do they show it?)

Spanap? Jealous?

You'd be lying to yourself if you said he wasn't.

It mainly comes with the fact your attention gets stolen by Patches a lot of the time and it ends up becoming petty jealousy because of that.

If he's jealous that someone else has your attention he will either come up to you and wrap his arms around you from behind whilst letting you continue with your conversation or if you're sat down he'll sit next to you if possible and will hold your hand.

Unless it's Punz to which it's on sight. He will jokingly pick you up and move you away the first time or will glare at him.

K = Kiss (Do they exchange kisses often? Where do they like to kiss?)

Sapnap's second favourite thing to do is kiss you. His first is cuddles and the third... Well, I'll leave that up to your imagination.

He will leave kisses all over your face and jaw in the morning whilst refusing to let you out of his arms. Let him simp in peace okay. He just wants to appreciate you and maybe start something, but anyways.

Sap likes to kiss you a lot. Forehead kisses are a must and so are cheek kisses, and neck kisses, and sweet quick kisses, and kisses where he attempts to pour all his feelings into them, and kisses to piss off Dream, and kisses to just kiss you.

L = Love Confession (How would they confess their feelings?)

Sapnap just blurted it out when he picked you up from the airport when you moved to come and live with him. The feeling that went through him as he finally got to hold you in his arms just caused him to vomit out his feelings towards you.

M = Memory (What’s their favourite memory together?)

His favourite memory was when Dream took him to the airport to pick you up.

You were finally moving in with Sapnap (and Dream, unfortunately) as the two of you were in a long-distance relationship and we're finally getting the chance to live together. As the two of you hadn't seen each other in months Sapnap was practically bouncing off the walls in excitement.

As he was standing outside the car Dream was sitting in waiting for you to arrive he was staring at the lifts which you were going to be coming out of any second. He turned around momentarily to speak to Dream before looking back to see you walking towards him.

He sprinted towards you before pulling you into his arms, finally getting to hold you for the first time in months. It was also the first time he said 'I love you' because at that moment nothing else mattered but you.

For some reason, unbeknownst to him, you seem happy and excited over things (even if you aren't). Even on a no bones day, you somehow manage to make it positive and brighten up his day if he doesn't feel the best.

You've always had that ability to make him smile as you walk into the room, to make him feel warm and fuzzy inside.

P = PDA (Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?)

In front of Dream, Sapnap gives no shits. He will be constantly pulling you into his arms or having a hand on you at any moment possible. If the three of you are in the kitchen he will come up behind you and wrap his arms around you, leaning his head on his shoulder causing Dream to just roll his eyes. Sometimes Sap will take it further and start pressing kisses against your neck and on the side of your head to which Dream will do one of four things. He'll either a, flat out ignore it, b, make a sarcastic comment or tell you to get a room, c, will make fake retching noises, or d, if Patches is there he'll pick up the cat and scold the two of you for scarring her.

But, when the two of you went to go see Karl, he dialled down on the PDA not wanting to make the brunette too uncomfortable, and also because he was a bit shy of expressing his love for you in front of him. However, Karl honestly gave no shits and would just join the two of you in your cuddle sessions (with consent of course).

However, on camera, Sapnap becomes very shy and doesn't like to show a lot of PDA. This is partly because some of his so-called fans hate the fact that he's with you and that you get a ton of backlash whenever the two of you are affectionate on stream together. But he will of course hug you on stream and maybe place a kiss on your hand or face. But other than that he keeps it to the minimum.

Q = Quality time (How do they like to spend time with you?)

Videogames or cuddling. There is no in-between.

Sometimes the two of you will do both, you playing on your Nintendo switch sat leaning back against his chest whilst he's playing Minecraft or something else on his PC. His head will be resting on your shoulder and normally the two of you will be having full-on conversations. Occasionally one of you will pause in what you're doing and press a kiss to the others cheek, or Sapnap will pause and wrap his arms around you.

Cuddle sessions vary from time to time, but usually, it results in the two of you lounging in bed watching a new show or a few movies. At least one of you is known to fall asleep, and it's usually Sapnap from you running your hands through his hair and giving him beard scratches.

R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)

Sapnap tries to keep you in bed on a rainy day, and if you don't have a stream until later then he usually manages. This leads to you two binge-watching whatever the new show you started and making hot chocolate rather than coffee.

Sometimes Dream will attempt to join the two of you, specifically for the hot chocolate.

S = Smile (What makes them smile without fail?)

Getting to see you each day and then he's hit with the thought that you're his (as in partner, he doesn't own you or what you do and he's fully respectful of your choices). That always brings a smile to his face and also seeing you with Patches.

You just smiling and looking at him full of love just makes his heart swell in adoration for you.

T = Truth-telling (How do they tell their fans they are in a relationship? How do they act on camera with you?)

With the two of you both being content creators, you both knew that the internet can be a terrible place which was why you had told your fans yet.

Sapnap and you had gotten one of the many photos Dream had taken of the two of you and were planning on posting it on Sapnaps Instagram after the two of you had announced that you were together at the beginning of your stream.

It had taken the two of you a while to decide to tell your fans because the two of you were afraid of their responses, knowing what Twitter and stan culture could be like when their favourite person gets a significant other.

U = Understanding (How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?)

Sapnap believes that he knows you quite well. Well, at least the stuff you like and dislike, and what your favourite hoodie of his is, and your favourite outfit, and so on and so forth.

He's usually able to tell when you're getting stressed over something or when you're upset at something not going right, so he always tries to be there for you.

V = Vaquita (If they wanted a pet, what would they get?)

He wants another cat.

He sees the way you are with Patches, Dream's cat having both of your hearts and after having to leave his cats (and dog) behind in Texas, he was thinking about getting another one for a while.

W = Wild Card (A random headcanon?)

If you wake up after Sapnap, he will not let you move out of bed and will constantly say, "Five more minutes", rather than letting either of you get up. His arms will be wrapped tightly around you, even if he has his head laid on your chest. He will stop you from getting out of bed.

Usually, to escape his grasp, you have to pepper his face in kisses and promise to cuddle later with him. If you make it out of bed, he will follow behind you and latch onto your back like a koala if possible. He eventually lets go of you and allows the two of you to go about your day.

X = eXtra Time (Do they ever wish they had more time to spend with you?)

With the two of you both being twitch streamers and content creators, sometimes the days would pass by quickly and neither of you would get a chance to see the other a lot.

So of course Sapnap wished he had more time to spend with you. To be fair, it was only really you that was busy each day with editing the occasional video and sitting in recording sessions and then streaming regularly.

So yeah. Whilst you were busy streaming Minecraft, Sap would sit in your streaming room at the side to just sit with you and spend more time with you.

He is a simp that wants all of your time and attention.

Y = Yes (Do they ever think of getting married/proposing?)

This man is a simp and has thought many times about wanting to put a ring on your finger. He just wants to call you his forever and every time he thinks about his future you're always there with him.

He did bring it up to Dream once to see what his roommate thought about it. The blonde just told him to give it a year at least and that if he still wants to marry you then he should think about proposing.

Z = ZZzzzz (How heavy of a sleeper are they? How do they sleep?)

Sapnap now can't sleep without you. And if you leave his arms whilst he's sleeping he will wake up. This has fucked over his sleeping schedule so many times.

If he ends up staying up into the early hours of the morning and goes to bed late, when you get up in the morning so you can plan stuff for your own streams and attend your own meetings, he always ends up waking up with you.

Unlike him, you had a streaming schedule which meant you had to get up each day and get stuff done before streaming. Lots of times this has meant that you have ended up sitting at your desk with him either on your lap or in a chair next to you having a nap, or you bring your laptop back to bed with you so that Sapnap can sleep next to you.

Technoblade’s purpose in the political narrative of the Dream SMP

I can’t sleep so I decided to finally write the post I’ve been struggling with for literal months, except way more casual because I can’t be bothered anymore and also I’m sleep deprived.

So the thing is: to me the DSMP storyline has always been primarily political, probably because I was introduced to it through Wilbur who was definitely going for political, and also because I’m just generally interested in political narratives right now. Obviously I appreciate the character work and the personal relationship stuff, that’s what makes it more interesting than just dry allegory, but when it comes down to it, this story is about politics to me. So that’s the angle I’m going to approach it from.

Also not to spoil the conclusions here, but I’m an anarchist, that’s my lens.

(Obviously all of this is about rp from here on out unless otherwise specified)

Basically the situation as Techno joins the server is this: L'Manburg exists as an autonomous nation and is de facto independent although not officially recognised by the Dream SMP. The self-appointed president Wilbur Soot decides to hold an election and rig it in order to consolidate his power over the nation he founded and he gets his VP Tommyinnit to join in on the plan. Their scheme fails and they end up voted out instead. The new president, Schlatt, immediately establishes himself as an authoritarian figure and exiles Wilbur and Tommy.

A couple of points on what the election arc demonstrates:

1: the appearance of democracy can be used for distinctly undemocratic purposes.

2: even if the elections aren’t rigged, the electoral system could be massively flawed and end up favouring a party that in fact didn’t have the popular vote

3: even if the winning government (the coalition in this case) has the majority vote, that doesn’t guarantee that they’ll actually act according to the popular will.

4: the supporters of the losing parties basically just have to let the majority overrule their wishes, espcially since apparently L’Manburg doesn’t have an established role for an opposition, yikes. That’s actually a MAJOR oversight in the system but I’m not gonna go into that too much.

5: frankly as an anarchist I am just deeply cynical towards representative democracy, and just because you have a token appearance of choice and consent doesn’t mean that it isn’t a hierarchical and authoritarian system. And to be fair, from my point of view this applies even to so-called liberal democracies and progressive parties. Full disclosure: even if L'Manburg was the ideal example of a representative democracy (which it very much isn’t) I would still be opposed to it because I fundamentally do not believe in top down systems, even electoral ones.

6: despite all these flaws, all the characters seem to implicitly accept the electoral system as legitimate. There’s criticism against the actions of individual characters acting within the system, such as Quackity calling out Wilbur for trying to rig the election, but nobody is questioning the system itself.

So at this point I’m sitting there, watching all this go down, and thinking “man, this would be so much more bearable if there was an anarchist point of view being represented in the story.”

And hey, look who IMMEDIATELY SHOWS UP.

Okay, I’m not gonna lie, early installation Technoblade is not the best representation of anarchism. I was mostly rooting for him out of sheer contrarianism initially. I didn’t really even care if it would be another Killmonger/Magneto/Zaheer situation because I’m used to reading against the authorial intent when it comes to these things. Sometimes any representation is better than no representation, even with political ideologies. That’s not to say that him just straight up spouting this hobbesian notion of a “dog-eat-dog world” didn’t grate on me, obviously it did.

That kind of worldview of humanity needing authority in order to prevent chaos and conflict is literally antithetical to anarchism and is the favourite talking point of authoritarians, the least anarchist people there are. It’s literally what people use to argue AGAINST anarchism. I think it’s mostly because cc!Techno obviously wasn’t particularly educated on anarchist thought and was just basically having fun roleplaying with his friends at this point. Which is frustrating but fair enough I guess.

Cynical ideas about human nature are pretty deeply rooted in the mainstream, unfortunately, most people just consider it common sense. And like I said, it’s a huge talking point in the propaganda against anarchism.

(… even though in fact these arguments were originally used against proponents of representative democracy. Hobbes himself was very much a monarchist, the idea of letting normal people vote for their representatives would have been terrifying to him. Like surely the world would descent into a free-for-all war, all against all. Imagine letting commoners have OPINIONS, the horror.)

So yeah, that stuff was pretty ehhhhh. It was basically what I’d expected though: cc!Techno isn’t an anarchist and we just don’t get accurate representation from non-anarchists, ever. What I dared to hope was that Techno’s character would at least stay consistent about his opposition to ALL governments. I was pretty sure that he would, even though it seemed like the majority of the fandom at the time was convinced that he would switch over to Schlatt’s side or something. It would have been a really shitty twist, I would have ragequit immediately. I mean what would have been the entire point of his character then? He might as well have been a random mercenary. Why even have his character be an anarchist if you were just going to make him work for a government?

(ftr this is kinda my biggest problem with the Hypixel Skyblock revolution event lol, honestly I think that was a worse depiction of anarchism than early DSMP Technoblade. I mean the speech was good, but… still became a government official, tho. booooooooo, cringe)

And yes, I was rooting against L'Manburg, obviously, and I would have even if it had meant having to deal with another badly written anarchist villain character. I never understood why people saw L'Manburg as the good guys, they were nationalist and exclusionary and their whole existence was based on trying to scam people for money.

I mean they were definitely funny, they were great entertainers. I have no problems with people rooting for them because they’re fun to watch; I did that for a bit too. But people were starting to get really into the story and talk about Wilbur and Tommy, the corrupt politicians, and the country that literally excluded people based on nationality as the heroes, unironically, which was wild to me. And when Wilbur started his “villain arc” well: people called it a villain arc, as if he hadn’t been pretty much a bad guy from the beginning, constantly just out for money and power and taking advantage of the people around him and then pretending to be the victim when challenged. I mean yes he got worse, but I wouldn’t call it a villain arc, more like just a mental breakdown arc.

More importantly, to me L'Manburg represented so many things I hate about the status quo in real life, and seeing the fandom mostly unquestioningly accept it as good just pissed me off. Still pisses me off tbh. I mean, to be diplomatic I could say that I understand the emotional attachment and the way L'Manburg was built up mirrors a lot of how real nations are built and how they create a sense of patriotism out of symbols and a sense of honour and loyalty, and it’s actually really fascinating how it even works in a Minecraft roleplay. Says something about the human mind I guess. Doesn’t mean I have to like it though.

Anyway, I just wanted to see literally any kind of opposition to power, even if it had to come from a character that was unquestionably a villain, which I fully assumed Techno would be. Because political narratives so often just leave us out, or at best barely mention us. And even from a narrative point of view, adding an anarchist perspective to a political story just objectively broadens its scope and actually challenges people who are used to only arguing along the lines of conservative or liberal, welfare state or privatization, nationalism or multiculturalism, etc. Even if the original work dealt with it poorly, at least it would give me the excuse to rant about it on Tumblr, which is kinda why I revived my old Minecraft sideblog for this. (That and pig!Techno fanart.)

Also how can you have a story so fundamentally about power without its counterpoint: the rejection of power?

(Yes, Dream SMP as a whole is definitely a narrative about power, it’s a huge theme for Wilbur, Quackity, Dream, Eret and the Badlanders at least, as well as obviously the anarchist characters from the opposite direction.)

So yeah, the build up to November 16th for me was mainly about the anticipation for what Techno would do, how would Techno’s character respond to the seemingly inevitable formation of a new government. THAT was the point of interest for me, that was what I was the most invested in. Would we get an actual anarchist opposition as a new side to the conflict or would they just awkwardly drop that whole angle? Or even have him team up with Schlatt like a complete sellout? There was so much potential but I worried they might just waste it.

And I was right to worry since apparently in the original script Techno wasn’t supposed to do anything, he was just there to help fight Schlatt and witness the explosion along with everyone else.

And WOW that would have been so incredibly boring

Not even just from the political perspective, just talking about the narrative in general terms here: imagine November 16th without Techno’s plot points. Not only would it have been boring for Techno’s character but it would have been equally boring for basically everybody but Wilbur and Philza. An anticlimactic fight followed by a big explosion that pretty much everybody had seen coming already. Yes, the button room scene is dramatic and heartbreaking… for Wilbur and Phil. But nobody else was there to see it. For everybody else, it was just a big explosion. It would have been such a huge disservice to anyone watching the other POVs.

Techno’s intervention gave everyone an ACTUAL climactic fight, it allowed characters other than Wil and Phil to witness some actual drama happening and to participate in it, rather than just waiting around for the explosion, while also foreshadowing the explosion. Even better, it provoked SO MUCH discussion in the fandom AND gave a perfect hook for future conflicts to arise. Wilbur’s end was tragic but it was, at the time, final. L'Manburg would have still suffered a catastrophe but it would have been left with just the same exact antagonist as before: Dream.

And at this point Dream’s core goals had barely changed, just his approach was now different. Yes, that makes a difference for the plot, but it doesn’t really change much in terms of ideological conflict. Especially since there really isn’t that big of an ideological difference between Dream and Tommy, because arguably neither of them are particularly big on ideology in the first place, they just have conflicting goals and use different tactics to achieve those goals (well, the tactics aren’t always even that different *cough Spirit cough*).

Techno’s conflict with Tubbo and especially Quackity (and honestly most of the other characters in general) brings in so much more depth to the story, just by introducing another angle, not to even mention how much it brings to focus questions about power and violence. These are themes that exist in other characters’s storylines too but nowhere in the same way or as central as with Techno.

I’m getting kind of ahead of myself here, though.

The real twist of November 16th was the fact that Techno WASN’T a straight up villain, actually. It was a twist to me anyway, because with all my cynicism I just didn’t see it coming, I didn’t expect him to actually start making reasonable criticisms. I didn’t expect him to drop the hobbesian arguments entirely and start making points that actually sounded like anarchism.

I have to assume that cc!Techno must have seen some of the criticisms of his character and been inspired to adjust because the difference is pretty notable.

(Sidenote: I’m just forever kinda sad that Techno’s “I may seem like the villain here” monologue was cut from the video and most people never heard it.)

And I felt SO validated by the way, because it works so well in the story! Everyone is mostly content with the restoration of a status quo of some sort, Schlatt is gone, this is supposed to be the good ending, and then Techno calls them all out and turns the narrative around completely: This was just a coup d'état. This was just the previous political leadership retaking power by force. Why is everyone celebrating the same exact system that lead to Schlatt’s authoritarian rule in the first place?

What he does there is force the audience to question the narrative they’ve been presented so far, that they’ve accepted without a thought. It might not convince them, but they can’t just ignore it either.

Whatever you wanna say about the discourse around Techno on that day, in the ideological narrative THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART. Not who betrayed who or when is political violence justified, that’s about personal relationships and morality and it’s mostly all more relevant to the aftermath than the event itself. In my opinion, the REAL point in the moment is that the characters and the audience were comfortable with the ending only to be presented with a completely new perspective on the events.

It also recontextualises the finale, including Wilbur’s actions! It’s a much more ambiguous end to the Pogtopia vs Manburg arc and to Wilbur’s original run as the head writer. Wilbur’s “even with Tubbo in charge I don’t think [that ‘special place’] can exist again” is vague enough to be dismissed as just part of his paranoia and internal conflict, but with Techno, there’s a concrete question: what if Tubbo, given the same powers as Schlatt, will turn out to be just a new Schlatt? And suddenly you have to wonder what Wilbur meant by his words too. And was all this foreshadowing something about L’Manburg’s future?

Okay I’ve only made it to November 16th and there’s so much more DSMP to talk about but the post is getting too long and I’m starting to lose my energy. Will I ever make a part two? No idea. But I’ll try.

So sorry for the random vent in your ask box Pommunist, but I just keep seeing peoples posts about saying goodbye to the fandom and while im so glad to see so many people had such positive experiences with interacting I myself didnt really see much of it. I dont know if its cause im just more of a lurker and so I wasnt really making friends and memories with people around the qsmp but I honestly saw an overwhelming amount of negativity and even negativity mascaraing as positivity. Being in this fandom did not teach me togetherness it only taught me just how cruel and mean people are. Over all I honestly dont feel like qsmp reached its goal to bring communities together if so much of the fandom is volatile and actively will attack fans, ccs, admins, just about anyone. There was so much zenaphobia both in the fandom and in the studio. Purgatory was so poorly put together the streamers were having live disagreements and fights (that they thankfully usually got sorted quickly but was still DEEPLY awkward to witness and many people would just leave, wait for the fight to get worked out and come back) and not to mention how angry the fandom was over EVERYTHING at the time. And all that was done ON PURPOUSE. How can we say the the QSMP reached its goal of brining communities together when that simply did not happen? People are still split up in "the Brazilan fans" "the French fans" "the English fans" ect. Like im sure SOME people feel like THEY got something out of it and thats great but dose that mean that OVERALL as a full whole that the QSMP did that? Id argue no.

I’m going to say something that I almost never say lmao but I think a lot of it isnt Qstudios fault.

A lot of it is tied to the nature of twitch stream in as a storytelling medium. Take a normal TV show, people will still find ways to argue all the time about which character is in the right, whether or not a plotline was good etc. And they’re all watching the exact same thing.

With twitch streaming, people have their favourite characters and everything they see is from their pov, which is biased by nature and ultimately lead to a lot of misunderstandings, especially when everything said goes through translation.

Now add to this the second thing which is that some people got into qsmp with zero interest for it and its goal. They were first and above all else a fan of their favourite ccs, and never had any intention to open their mind to anything more than that.

Meaning that for them, everything that was beneficial to their fav, they liked, and everything or everyone that wasn’t, they hated.

Purgatory was the perfect event to lethally mix these two together, which wasn’t helped by that it was a poorly thought out and poorly executed competition event with high stakes (or so we thought at least lol).

Then you also have the xenophobes/mysoginists/shitheads who will just throw hate based on discriminatory reasons or simply because they’re assholes. I’ve seen takes that genuinely had my jaw touching the floor, but that’s the thing when you merge communities, the bad ones come along everyone else sadly.

On top of that they also ruin the fun for other people which lead to some just wanting to stuck with the community they were already a part of before qsmp.

On the other hand, QSMP still allowed people to share parts of their cultures with each other, pick up and learn each other languages, make people who would have never met without it befriend each other.

Personally before it I had never watched English or Portuguese content on Twitch, and now do regularly. I didn’t know any of the streamers besides the French speakers, Fit (watched his vids) and Rubius (only bc he was against the french in the pixel war), and now I’ve discovered many amazing ccs.

I was able to discover and learn a lot about how people do things in other countries, met cool people that I would’ve never met. My opinion on this is probably partly biased due to the fact that the specific communities I’ve been active in are almost comically all peace and love but I’ve also seen a lot of shit, just chose to focus on what was good.

I think QSMP fandom is kind of like if you and a bunch of strangers from around the world were shoved together in a bar. Most people are going to talk and drink and have fun together, but some of these strangers are bond to be assholes who will talk loudly and look for a fight, making the night a bad experience for those who stood near them.

So yeah I think QSMP achieved its goal to an extent, and built bridges between communities but the experience was soured by some who either didn’t care about crossing that bridge or even tried to actively sabotage it.

saw your post about ranting about faves and oh Boy do I love c!dream! I need to preface this with a Disclaimer that i absolutely do not condone any of his actions ofc

dream is just such a well-crafted villain, he's so fun to hate (the amount of times I openly yelled "fuck you" at my monitor bc of him is Many), it's fun to see him lose, but it's also fun to see him win? in a weird way? in a way that you would want to see a villain win in a psychological horror media? like, I remember watching the exile streams and the times he logged on filled me with Fear and it was so fucking cool? maybe part of the reason is that I can't watch traditional horror media so minecraft men is all I have but the fact that this character can fill me with such intense emotions geniuenly seems so cool to me.

plus his speeches? his one-liners too? "it's time to say goodbye", "I don't give a fuck and Spirit"?? fucking rad as hell, plus I love how cc!dream got so good at acting bc I remember when ppl dunked on his delivery in the beginning and he came such a long way from that???

one other thing that is very cool to me about him is that, like even some ccs said, we as audience can never really tell when he's being geniue, when he's pretending/manipulating, or, even better, when he's both. For example - his prison visits. The tommy prison visit when he acted all like his regular manipulative self but goes all quiet and yells for sam when tommy asks him who he misses? such a good little moment, just Sprinkled in there among the bullshit. The contrast between that and his bbh visit, where he was obviously trying to sweettalk bbh BUT he was also open about the pain there (for the sake of manipulation partly?)? Immaculate. The sapnap visit is my favourite partly because it was so out of nowhere, improvised on the spot, AND the characterisation it provided was so good. The entire conversation was, again, half and half, but the moment at the end? when he got into the water with sapnap? geniuenly heartbreaking to me! The whole quackity thing is also very good and I can't wait how it influences his actions (like obviously torture wrong, but in terms of storytelling it was a very interesting choice).

I love the way c!dream is obviously a horrible horrible person, who mostly likely won't ever change and is a legit danger to the entire server but is also shown to be a person. Horrible, irredeemable, but still a person with a personality outside of hehe evil, but with the manipulative tendencies very deep in. And what's even better is that cc!dream is aware of this! that's why I'm not really afraid of the upcoming recorded c!dream pov stuff, because cc!dream is excellent at portraing his character as still detestable, horrible villain, but making him very fun to watch still.

also I think I need to add that me feeling bad for him sometimes comes from the fact that I have legit too much emphathy (I'm nd) and that I 100% recognise that ppl are like, allowed Not To feel bad bc he's, again, horrible.

more clarifying on this: I do have like. things in the series that are more disappointing To Me, of course. But I try not to make posts where all I'm doing is complaining. Hence why I don't talk about CCs I genuinely dislike, or my hesitancy to say anything about something like Pirates or Rats.

But I try to focus on the bright side when it comes to this stuff instead of just. I Don't Like This.

The zombie task from SL I think is a good example. It's a great moment for Gem's character and informs a lot of what I read from her! It's also just a really funny/tense episode from alot of POVs and the repeating sean of the dead references are one of my favourite bits to come out of this series.

But as a mechanic I absolutely hated it and felt like it was very out of place. While I was watching all I could think about was how "oh god, this season went on way longer than Grian anticipated". Like Gem's character is almost literally being puppeteered for the purpose of advancing the season and bringing it to a close more on time, which is AWESOME when you look at it from that angle but that doesn't mean I think in the most ideal universe it should've happened. Still though it did happen and what it got us was awesome.

This applies to a lot of other things too: I'm bored to death of Scott and Cleo's everlasting alliance but that's what makes them fascinating to me. They are the antithesis of character development, they enable eachother's worst habits and they frustrate me and without them the series wouldn't be the same.

I'm tired as fuck of Scotts goody two shoes schtick and his insistence on dying in non-humiliating ways (in other words, on his own terms via sacrificing himself before he gets a chance to be killed -- sometimes in completely fucking panic while pearl is chasing him down) and well. Gestures vaguely to my whole blog. I'm shaking my head at these choices but God if I don't owe half my enjoyment of this series to him.

That's the way I try to look at it, at least. In the end I'm going to have my own preference for the directions things go in and there are some(!) things that I'm disappointed by like the increasingly more complicated mechanics but it is what it is. And if I'm enjoying it then it's doing its job.

I don't disagree with your whole "Pearl should stay and discover the consequences," per se, because I DO believe getting "rescued" by Gem or Jimmy or Tango or whoever will ultimately not be very good for her character. But. BUT. i DO feel like there's a very likely probability that if and when she does go red, she turns on her "allies" especially if she establishes in her mind that they're toxic and Not Good For Her beforehand. THEN we can have a team-up with somebody else, because it's on her terms. The only problem with that is that it reinforces the picture of Pearl that Scott and Cleo already have in their heads, which is a problem in itself. The bottom line is I'm not quite sure I want to see her disintegrate into nothing because I feel like it would be quite unsatisfying, Instead, I really DO want to see her get driven insane by these people and start murdering, because it would be a better arc for her character as it's all on her own terms rather than being "rescued" by somebody else. The problem with this is that Pearl is too fucking loyal and will probably redirect her homicidal urges toward people outside of PICS. Anyways new Life Series is terrible I love it so much bye. - C

Okay I think I might've worded myself a bit weirdly my bad. When I said I wanted to see Pearl deal with the consequences, I didn't mean it in the sense of I hope she sticks with them the whole season and things never change.

I ALSO don't hope she leaves them for another team. In fact when it comes to watching these live I don't really "hope" anything, I just take what I'm given and work with what I get -- because I know my expectations are going to be significantly more self-indulgent and thus less challenging than what the series itself will present me with. Like if it were up to me we'd be watching six seasons of Ethubs' ongoing toxic married couple roleplay and scott smajor monologuing evangelion style but that isn't what we got and I'm glad for it.

My original "I hope she gets whittled down to nothing" comment was more just me trying to be contrarian and funny since I'd seen a lot of people rallying for her to leave them and join Gem and Joel and I thought I'd be a stick in the mud about it.

TLDR I don't like having expectations. Whatever happens I'm going to make awesome in my head regardless.

Don't get me wrong if she does actually stay with them the whole season and gets kicked around the whole time I'm going to be melting into a puddle of despair and entropy with the rest of you forever I will never be a human being again. But also I love that this series has that effect on me.

I have one that is literally the truth but incredibly controversial. Keep in mind Dream is my favourite character and whilst I hate the term I probably would be a Dream Apologist. Disclaimer I don't hate Tommy or his character this is more of a shitting on weird and rude fans so no need to attack me to defend your little raccoon boy because you'll just be proving my point.

Tommy apologists who hate Dream apologists (both fans and other cc's) aren't mad because they like Dream or because of what Dream did to Tommy.

Tina and Boomer's only knowledge of Dream is what they were told by other members so why is it their fault that they're naive enough to be sympathetic towards Dream. Because it's on the other people who were there to tell them why Dream's in prison to the fullest extent, if you go "he's in prison because he blew something up and killed someone" that's not going to do anything because so have half of the server. Michael has been around for months and he's still sympathetic towards Dream because he doesn't know the extent of what Dream did and that's on the fault of the rest of the members.

But also it's not just Tommy that was affected by Dream, there's Tubbo who Dream gaslight and manipulated for months and then publicly shamed and attacked him, there's everything regarding Dream's hidden bunker with everyone's attachments. But guess what not a single person who visited that bunker told any of the new members or any of the people who weren't at the Disc War finale. George, Techno, Phil etc have no clue about it.

Why should you get upset at new players for being Dream apologists when even the people who hate Dream won't try to change their opinion. You have Sapnap who threatened to kill Dream to his face yet only told Tina he did some bad things but there's not a day that goes by where he doesn't think about him and miss him. From Tina's perspective Sapnap clearly still cares for Dream which insinuates that he clearly didn't do something irredeemable.

Speaking of Techno, he's a Dream Apologist and Tommy apologists refuse to accept that because they're so stuck in the SBI family dynamic mentality that doesn't exist. Techno doesn't care about Tommy like you think he does and the quicker you learn it the better your life will be. You could also group PeePaw into the Dream apologist category because he didn't stop Techno from meeting Dream or wanting to go back for Dream in fact everytime Techno and Dream have teamed up, Phil was there backing them up.

People don't like Dream apologists when it benefits them, it's honestly an excuse to hate people at this point because not a single person who got mad at Tina or Boomer for being a Dream apologist could handle tweeting about it without adding a few insults like calling them irrelevant, ugly, gross, freaks etc and that was towards the creators not the character.

Let's not forget that nobody other than Dream and Tommy know the full extent of the Exile Arc so why should fans expect people to be horrified with Dream when they don't know the full extent of everything. They only know Dream's bunker, Doomsday, The community House fight and that Dream's in prison.

Fans needs to realise that people don't canonically know everything that Dream did, the only person who knows everything is Dream. They also need to know that just because someone did some horrible things it doesn't automatically make everyone else innocent. Quackity and Sam doing what they do to Dream isn't a justification because of what Dream did to them, it's an excuse. That's why every character is morally grey. Nobody is perfect, every single character has done something irredeemable.

The whole thing about calling Dream apologists abusers is disgusting and honestly weird as fuck especially since it's only for Dream apologists because once again the SBI non existent dynamic screws people's thoughts and makes them hypocritical. Because if Dream apologists are abusers then Techno apologists are murderers and Wilbur apologists are terrorists and Quackity apologists are abusers and Sapnap apologists are serial killers. So is it really people hating Dream because of his character or is it that they themselves actually don't like Dream as a person because not other character gets this controversial even when they've done the same things. Is it a bias against Dream that stems from people getting too invested into a roleplay to the point of them confusing reality and roleplay.
