Me when I remember that nolan is not actually my fluffy UwU babygirl meow meow but a tormented 2000+ year old man who’s killed planets worth of people in the name of an empire he was born into and brainwashed with its propaganda. Which ended up pushing him to kill the one group of people that had any chance of stopping him that he also considered to be his close friends and then pretended like it was nothing. And after losing everyone else in his life due to his own actions, including his wife who he repeatedly lied to. He nearly beat his own son to death and only upon realizing that everything he said that day was just a lie to convince himself to go through conquering earth that he couldn’t complete his mission because that would mean killing his son.

The boy he chose to raise like a human with debbie who taught him about humanity and changed his outlook on the world no matter how much he denied it. The boy who he cheered on at his baseball games and celebrated all of his birthdays. The boy who excitedly told him he got his powers and how he wanted to be “just like him”, even though he didn’t fully know what that meant. He ultimately was softened by earth and the people he let in changed him and taught him to love. Even though they were the ones he hurt the most.

So he refuses to deliver the final blow. Abandoning his post as a viltrumite, something unheard of up until that point. Flying into the void of space and leaving the earth in tears.

Being asexual and possibly aromantic but also being a huge shipper and hopeless romantic is such a wild experience ngl. I'm always freaking out about my favorite ships and giggling internally reading ship fics, getting invested in characters finally kissing or reading about their pining and their love and I think "I want what they have!!"

But then sometimes you have a slamming realization that your sweet shipping scenarios you imagine in your head look totally different irl and that you are extremely aspec.

One time I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and stumbled across Vsauce's "Why Do We Kiss?" video and let me tell you. When I saw that stock video footage of two people kissing each other I was a little flabbergasted lmaooo

Or perhaps what I think is the far funnier option, she just happened to be working in that shop just like... because, or for some completely unrelated evil plan. And when Clara walked in out of the blue Missy instantly clocked her vibe it's that strong and was like "You know what would be a good idea?" Clara's casually browsing the shelves and Missy is mentally speed-running how many parallels to her and the Doctor she could get if she pushed them together.

“How… does it feel?” Locus asked haltingly. Lopez shrugged. “<Weird. But I expected that.>” Locus hummed, his brow furrowed like he was lost in thought as he scanned Lopez’s face. Lopez grabbed Locus’ wrists, bringing his hands to his throat.  “What are you--?” “<One way to test it. Take my head off.>” Locus’ eyes widened, his expression turning panicked. He tried to pull his hands away, but Lopez held him steady. “<You are the only person strong enough,>” Lopez said firmly, giving the other no room to balk any further. “<If this synthskin doesn’t fix the problem, I want to know now, not later.>” Lopez could feel the way Locus’s hands shifted, his fingers flexing as he fought some internal debate. Lopez couldn’t read his mind, but the flicker of those marble grey eyes was telling as Locus looked at his hands around Lopez’s throat, then to his face and then back again and again. “<It doesn’t hurt, if that’s what all this fuss is about.>” Not strictly true, having his head removed wasn’t exactly a pleasant feeling. But better to do it now, with some degree of control, than in the middle of a fight or an accident. The sensation of feeling everywhere his skin touched was strange though, the normally very localized sensors spread out across the surface of the synthskin. Was this how humans felt things all the time? No wonder they were so easily distracted. Neither of them moved. “You’re certain?” Locus asked finally, his voice little more than a whisper. Lopez raised an eyebrow and let himself grin just a little at being able to convey the sentiment properly. Maybe there were some advantages to the synthskin after all. “<I wouldn’t have said it if I wasn’t.>” A nod, then the pressure. Lopez knew Locus was strong, for a human, but the feeling of his hands tightening around his neck and pulling at his jaw, the base of his metal skull…  His head didn’t budge, and the pressure eased. Lopez clicked his tongue, releasing Locus’ wrists. “<Good. That is one problem fixed, at least.>”

Pie + Pah (It's Canon to Me!)

I have believed since the B-scene episode when Pie and Pah had to work together that Pie and Pah are dating or at the very least they are crushing on each other, so The Trainee's eleventh episode only added fuel to my color-coded fire!

Everybody wears green this episode, and Yellow/Orange Oddity Pah was the first to begin.

Even Brown Boy Tae and Pink Person Mee get into the spirit.

And wear green!

Because everyone is here to support Green Guy Ryan in his adventure to date his boss.

And they state this!

Since Ryan is giving the green light to his Blue Boy in the form of green messages, yet getting no response.

The focus of the episode is Green Guy Ryan furthering his relationship with Blue Boy Jane.

Which is why Ryan wears blue.

It's why he holds a blue folder when being questioned.

It's why the entire workplace is conspiring for these two color-coded boys to be together.

And perhaps it's also the reason Pah wears blue this episode too with his "Make Love Not War" shirt to support this relationship (paging @dribs-and-drabbles)

Since the workplace also seems to be conspiring for him to get a little romance as well . . .

I had a theory that Jane was such a dark blue because Nine dimmed his blue since black is such a powerful color (hey Black Brooder Judy!)

But then I remembered this episode that Jane struggles to show his real color.

Because this episode showed us that Jane always hid his true color at the workplace.

Once his idea wasn't picked, he became a shadow.

And his color shows that!

Jane never showed his real color.

He just became a darker version of Jo.

But since Ryan became his intern, Jane has shown more of his true color, so much so that he has become light blue.

So even when Ryan is dark blue and green because he is upset in his "Daddy" with a heart over his heart shirt on, Jane is still light blue.

Which brings me back to Pah and Pie.

Jane and Ryan clearly like each because they wear each other's colors and lighten up around each other, and the team of interns is rooting for them which is why Pah probably wore green and blue this episode, but what did Red Rascal Pie wear?

Ambitious and confident Pie wore orange.

And she wore yellow.

But most importantly, next week in the finale while she sits there in Pah's colors, he will sit there soaked in pink (for love?).

So even though I'm excited to see how Jane and Ryan sort out this small barrier between them, I'm even more excited to see if the colors really do mean things or if I'm just seeing things.

Because I was partially right about this idea-stealing jerk.

And the colors told me that.

“requiem for methuselah” crazy ass episode for many reasons. Kirk is being fully insane, like I don’t actually think, even controlling for how quickly and easily and readily he seems to fall in love with anybody at the slightest encouragement, that he’d go that bonkers for that android woman he just met while everyone on the ship was this close to dying, but that’s neither here nor there, because in the background you’ve got an equally but much more subtly insane episode for Spock, who extremely uncharacteristically admits to experiencing an emotion (or nearly experiencing, whatever) and that emotion is ENVY of all things. And then spends the rest of the episode warning Kirk away from this new love interest (something that doesn’t usually happen, even when Kirk has very inadvisable love interests) and is, in the end, the person who accurately identifies that Rayna’s competing love for Kirk and Flint is ultimately what overwhelms and destroys her with the most killer line in maybe history???

And then to wrap it up we get an equally uncharacteristic sort of denouement scene (TOS loooves to cut an episode off right after the actual climax, leaving little time for falling action or character reflection, or to stick a sitcom-y button on the end where the gang all smiles and laughs at their misadventures and everything resets to zero, which is not a criticism, it’s just the style of that era of tv, honestly) where Kirk is literally miserable over Rayna’s death (again, kind of unusual for a lot of his love interests, he tends to be able to move on pretty quickly) and Spock goes to see him and he falls asleep right in front of Spock (also odd) and then when Bones comes in to give the final word on Flint, Spock waves him off from waking the Captain (tender) and Bones gives him that awful speech about how it’s sadder that Spock can’t even imagine the love Kirk felt for this random android woman than it is that Kirk lost her in the first place (debatable but also rude) and how his great tragedy is that he can’t love at all like they can and how all he wishes is that Kirk could forget about all of this and move on. AND THEN, to have Bones leave and Spock go over to Kirk and very gently, tenderly, reluctantly touch him and put his hand to his forehead and tell him to forget and HAVE THAT BE THE END OF THE EPISODE??? What am I supposed to do with that??
