Distinguishing Marks or Characteristics: Usually seen with a scowl on his face, or otherwise looking generally unapproachable. Has his bottom lip pierced four times, his bridge pierced, and 38 mm red tunnels in each ear. Has a cursive ‘L’ tattooed on his left hand, on the webbing between his thumb and index finger.

Personality —

Greatest Strength: Loyalty. Remi will go to the ends of the earth to make the people he actually does care about, safe and happy.

Greatest Weakness: Temper. Remi is a hot-head with a large ego that tends to get in his way.

Soft Spot: Levi. That man has the wolf wrapped around his finger, and Remi will protect him at all costs.

Mannerisms: Remi hates almost everyone and everything, and is usually a grump.. unless he’s alone with Levi. Then he can actually open up to be his charming, charismatic true self. He doesn’t care if he hurts peoples feelings, and will always be extremely blunt and honest. He’s also a bit clumsy, although with Levi, he’s able to laugh things off more easily.

Miscellaneous Trivia —

As a young child, allowed an ancient wolf spirit to fuse with his soul in order to save his younger sister, Meeko, and himself from a fire, thus giving him extreme physical strength, and an “Auto Pilot” form (see here), in exchange for the continuous flow of life energy to be distributed to the spirit. Should something happen to cease the flow of life energy, the spirit would die, and so would Remi. However, his life span would be infinite, as long as he could keep himself and therefore, the spirit, alive.

Because of the spirit constantly draining his life energy, Remi’s immune system is trashed. He gets sick OFTEN, and the viruses/bacteria tend to replicate rapidly when faced with the spirit’s own energy within him. Viruses/Bacteria passed from the wolf, to anyone else tend to be more severe since mutating inside Remi’s body.

Been struggling with substance addiction issues since 9 years old, eventually settling on heroin until his own stupidity leads to his mate, Levi’s OD, and both of their concurrent rehab stays.

Due to the stress and grief of losing his mate, (or so he thought..) caused him to go blind, and his normally bright eyes that glow a florescent green color were cloudy, milky green, producing an opaque white light. Once finding out Levi had recovered from his OD, after a week began to gradually regain his vision over the next few days. After completely regaining his eyesight, any bright sunlight or even strong LED lights cause him to temporarily go blind again, until he’s away from the light. (Sometimes chooses to use sunglasses.. other times he’s stubborn.)

His family has a specific genetic mutation that has evolved a defensive mechanism in which causes large amounts of blood to flow from their nose and mouth (as if to trick foes to think they’re already dead) whenever their body is experiencing extreme emotions. (i.e. Rage, Love, Lust, Fear, etc.) The blood is stored in extra cavities in their stomach and does not cause actual blood loss.

Sneeze Content —

ALLERGIES

Cats/Leopards? (Hasn’t ever been around just cats to know if they effect him the same as his mate, Levi’s, shift.

Strong, pungent smells as he has a very sensitive canine-like nose.

How severe are they?

Very tickly and itchy, leaving him hitching and producing a bunch of false starts. Eyes water instantly, will often produce desperate, long fits that can cause lasting symptoms for the rest of the day until he can take an antihistamine. Levi has a mischievous way of using this to his advantage and teasing the normally put-together, in-control Remi. Not very messy.

Do they get sick often?

Extremely often, catching something new every one to two months and proceeding to spread it around the group. (Please see trivia for info if you haven’t!)

How bad is it usually?

The usually strong, stoic wolf is reduced to a pathetic ball of used tissues and snuffles under the blankets. Can get a little whiney while Levi is taking care of him, although he won’t allow himself to be vulnerable enough for anyone other than Levi to see him in such a weakened state.

Do they stifle?

If he’s in public, he will always try that route first, although very seldom is he completely successful, producing half stifles that tend to only make the problem worse and more persistent. If only around Levi or by himself, he won’t try to stifle at all.

How loud are their sneezes?

Rather average, with some being more loud than others. Tends to be a little louder when sick. He tries to make them as quiet as possible in public.

What do they sneeze into?

Remi has a bad habit of often forgetting to cover his sneezes, or just generally does a bad job, spraying whatever happens to be in the line of fire.

How often do they sneeze?

When sick, he is constantly trapped in an extended fit, and if he’s not, tends to have a crumpled up tissue pressed to his face trying to control the buzzing in his very full sinuses. In an average day, however, he hardly sneezes at all.

How many times do they sneeze in a fit?

2-3 at a time is average, although his fits tend to be drawn out, resulting in quite a few more.

Do they have build-ups or are they sudden?

He has soft build ups, although usually not anything extremely dramatic, just gentle hitchy breaths.

Do they sneeze in public?

Not if he can help it. If he has no other option, he will attempt to go somewhere no one will see/hear him, or stifle to the best of his ability (which isn’t great..)

This week is all about writing The Better Man! I finally have a plot set in my mind that I like, and so I’m hoping that’ll help the words to flow.

Suddenly, a shadow falls over you, making you flinch and your hands immediately jerk to your blades. A boulder sized hand blocks your way. Your eyes travel along the attached arm and look up at Eren staring down at you. “Something up?” you shout. Eren exhales loudly, a little huff that is visible steam curling around his jaw. He doesn’t move his hand away, and you stand before it like it’s a big, meaty door you can’t walk through. Maybe he wants a high five. You slap his hand, happy to hear a satisfying clap. He still doesn’t remove his hand. You hope somewhere Hange is watching this peculiar communication and writes down how to teach Eren how to talk. “Does your hand hurt?” you ask, carefully pressing your tiny, tiny hand against his open palm. His skin is very warm. It seems tougher too. Maybe you can poke him a little with your blade and hope he doesn’t start swinging at you. And then his giant hand closes around you carefully and he scoops you into the air. Many things happen at once. As you wait for a heart attack to kick in and knock you out, somewhere down at the ground you hear Levi’s squad run amok. “It’s fine, it’s fine!” you rasp even though everything in your body screams at you that this is anything but fine. A Titan is holding you in his fist. A giant, strong fist that could easily crush you, break your bones, squeeze your organs into a messy, bloody pulp. You’ve always hated being picked up, but this rockets the fear into new heights—neck-braking heights where you plummet to your death with no ODM gear to stop your fall. Deep breaths. You’re not alone. You’re not helpless. This is still Eren, and you know Eren, you trust Eren, you’d leave your life in his hands—not this literally, but still. When Eren opens his fist enough for you to stand on his palm, you slowly turn around and peak up between his slightly curled fingers. He just … stares at you, and you’re close enough to clearly see his eyes. They’re the same bottle-green; the same deep green-grey of a lake shortly before a storm hits. So familiar, and so easy to lose yourself in them. “You okay, big guy?” you ask, lifting your arm to … to what exactly? But before you can think otherwise, Eren leans in—a Titan is leaning in and that is his enormous mouth right in front of you, ready to swallow you whole—and boops the tip of his nose against your open hand. Now that. That is something. Somewhere down you can hear Hange shrieking and Oluo screaming he put you down at once. “She’s not a freakin’ toy!” you hear his shrill voice. How severe are they?

At their worst, Draeko is incapacitated all day, locking himself away in his room alone as to not bother anyone with his constant, rapid kitten-like sneezes, the ticklish cough that gets occasionally brought out by a particularly harsh sneeze, the allergic tears that frequently roll down his cheeks from the intense tickle in his sinuses, and/or his full, congested nose that require him to snort and sniffle to keep the mess from dripping down his face.

Do they get sick often?

No, Draeko usually has a great immune system and doesn’t get sick often.

How bad is it usually?

Since he doesn’t get sick often, when he does, it completely takes the mutt out. He’s melted into a huge blanket on a bed for at LEAST 3 days minimum and very much expects to be carried around via piggyback ride if he for some reason has to leave the bed. Draeko LOVES to be babied by anyone, regardless of their status to him.

Do they stifle?

99.99% of the time, Draeko pinches his nostrils shut while sneezing, resulting in a stifle usually followed by a breathy “Chiiew!”

The only time he doesn’t stifle them is if they come so fast that they even take him off guard, or if he can’t get a hand free in time. Can get pretty messy without stifling.

His pinched nostrils, or a pink plaid handkerchief on occasion.

How often do they sneeze?

Often. He’s so used to his allergies and just overall sneeziness that he won’t even stop what he’s saying before a fit, and will keep trying to finish his thought before the fit is over.

Excessively! No less than four times, and extend on for a while.

Small amount of build up, with the majority being right before the first sneeze in a fit.

Backstory —

Draeko Grey was born as a groundbreaking anomaly—a three-species mutt shifter. His mother, a gentle Chinese water deer shifter, and his father, a proud bighorn sheep shifter, initially welcomed their son with unconditional love. For the first few years, Draeko experienced a blissful, if modest, upbringing, basking in the warmth of his parents’ affection. His parents celebrated their unique love story, and Draeko’s early life was filled with laughter, bedtime stories, and the scent of homecooked meals.

However, as Draeko grew, his shifter nature began to manifest, revealing traits that neither parent could explain. Alongside the expected traits from his parents, Draeko exhibited behaviors and physical characteristics of an African wild dog—a species neither parent had any known connection to. His father, initially bewildered, became resentful and suspicious. Fueled by his insecurities and societal pressure, he convinced himself that Draeko’s mother had been unfaithful.

One fateful night, Draeko’s father succumbed to his paranoia and alcohol-fueled rage. While Draeko slept, his father loaded his shotgun and, in a moment of blind fury, shot Draeko’s mother four times in the head. Hearing the noise, Draeko woke in terror and witnessed his father turning the gun on him. The five-year-old barely survived, suffering a non-fatal wound that he feigned death to survive. Believing he had killed his son, Draeko’s father prayed and then shot himself in the head.

As silence fell over the home, Draeko, trembling and bleeding, crawled to his mother’s side and tried desperately to wake her. Realizing she was gone, he ran from the house, guided only by the instinct to escape. He ran through the night, his small legs carrying him as far as they could until he collapsed in the middle of an open field.

When Draeko woke, he was surrounded by strangers—the members of a traveling circus who had nearly run him over with their wagons. The group’s leader, a stout man with a warm red beard, approached the terrified child and offered him food, shelter, and a place among them. For the first time since the tragedy, Draeko felt a glimmer of safety and accepted the man’s offer.

The circus became Draeko’s new home, and its performers became his surrogate family. The kind-hearted leader took him in as a son, providing stability and care, while the other members taught him skills to contribute to the troupe. Draeko became a natural entertainer, finding joy in bringing laughter and smiles to audiences. However, life under the big top wasn’t without challenges.

S7en, the biological son of Draeko’s adoptive father, resented the attention Draeko received. The tension between the boys created an underlying strain in their relationship, with Sven often undermining Draeko’s efforts to fit in. Despite this, Draeko maintained his optimism and worked hard to earn his place in the circus family.

As Draeko grew, he began to notice the dichotomy of circus life. The performers, who brought joy to audiences, often hid profound sadness behind the scenes. Draeko became determined to be a source of light and positivity, but the pressure of always being the "strong one" began to wear on him. By the age of 14, he turned to cocaine as a way to manage the emotional burnout, finding temporary relief in the artificial highs.

His descent into addiction spiraled as he became involved in the party scene, frequenting underground clubs and sex parties to escape the weight of his responsibilities. By 16, his drug use escalated to fentanyl, and his life began to unravel. Despite his attempts to hide his struggles, his circus family began to notice his erratic behavior and declining health.

When Draeko’s problems could no longer be ignored, his adoptive father intervened, encouraging him to seek help. Reluctantly, Draeko entered rehab, where he was diagnosed with Bipolar-1 disorder. The diagnosis provided clarity, and with the help of therapy and medication, he began the long journey toward recovery.

During rehab, Draeko met Remington and Levi, two men who became close friends and confidants. The shared experience of confronting their demons created a deep bond, and they supported each other through the challenges of recovery. Despite his progress, Draeko continued to grapple with his identity as the first of his kind, often feeling like he didn’t fully belong anywhere.

After leaving rehab, Draeko’s life took another turn when he met Kanai, the stoic and emotionless son of Cerberus, and Alistar, the unpredictable son of Satan. Draeko found himself drawn to both, their contrasting personalities intriguing and grounding him in different ways.
