This mission could very well be your last - the one that put a decisive end to your career. Or your life.

You realized as much while you belted on your armor and weapons for what could possibly be the last time. It was a macabre sight for sunset - you are young, still, and so were all the others whose lives would be on the line. How many would die you didn't know.

"Hey, hey, don't look so depressed! We'll be fine!" he said, wrapping an arm casually around your shoulder, "I hate not getting to fight with you, but I'll see you on the other side, yeah?"

"Yeah, I'll see you on the other side." You let yourself lean into his shoulder, "I love you, Satoru."

With a giggle, he kissed you on the cheek, "Aww, I love you too. Now let's go kill some curses, and if we're done early enough I'll take you out on a date, kay?"

You couldn't help but chuckle at his nonchalance. "I'll hold you to it."

His calm was enviable, a bit of his confidence trickling into you as you began making your way to your post. Neither of you looked back.

By daybreak, there was only carnage. The battle - hours, it must've been - was blurring together in your mind, the hundreds of creatures you cut down combining into a horrific mass in your memories. There was blood on your clothes, some yours, some from the curses, some from the others-

The others.

Satoru.

Satoru.

He was supposed to be nearby, but you knew, you knew how he fought: for all you knew he was in the next county over. But still you ran, heaving your heavy and aching bones forward, searching for that stupidly carefree man. Though each step sent splinters of pain through your muscles, you ran, searching blindly and desperately for his white hair and bright laugh.

It was Ijichi, standing deathly still on the battlefield, who served as your landmark. One of the many cleaning up the mess.

"SATORU" You called, running faster, tripping over your aching feet, falling with every step but unable to stop. Ijichi watched you with a hollow gaze as you approached, quivering in the air thick with smoke.

At your feet was a body, broken and bloodied. Whatever had ended this life was not merciful, and the twisted limbs and pools of blood were testimony.

Those ice-blue eyes had never seemed so lifeless.

Satoru.

"SATORU" You cried, falling to your knees with a crack, searing pain shooting through your brutalized body. "SATORU YOU PROMISED. YOU PROMISED WE'D MAKE IT OUT OF THIS."

Your throat burned from the screaming and the smoke, and the tears stung as they escaped your eyes. Water tainted by blood and dirt dripped onto Satoru's lifeless form, Satoru the man who was never injured, the man who laughed in battle because he knew he would see the light of the next day. But this time he did not.

Satoru's final daybreak had passed. And yours had not. How backward that seemed - you were the one who wondered late at night what might happen if you were to become one of the casualties, the one that was reassured every day that you won't die.

"Satoru... Satoru.... I love you." you whispered, though your words held no weight now. Had they ever? The late-night conversations, the gentle kisses, the teasing and flirting and wholehearted love - did any of them matter? At one point you'd hoped that those words would become your life, your future, your forever. But that could no longer be so. Because Satoru was gone.

Gojo Satoru, confidence personified, indestructible, was dead.

Ijichi tapped your shoulder gently. "We best be going. They're here for him, and you need a doctor."

You stood up hollowly, watching Satoru's body be picked up and carried away as Ijichi led your half-dead soul to a car. The memories replayed like broken records in your mind.

You lived through three more daybreaks before you saw Satoru again. Though it wasn't really him - only what remained, a dull greyish powder in an unremarkable jar. There was no life, nor even an echo of the brightness he once was.

When you received the call, you pondered again if this mission would be your last. And this time there was nobody to console you, nobody to make empty promises to smile with you again once it was over. Only the broken recollections of him.

Starting in 2025 The Vera C. Rubin Observatory Will Increase the Number of Known Objects Circling the Sun by Roughly Tenfold, Spotting New Comets, Exotic Asteroids From Other Stars, and Perhaps Even the Elusive Planet Nine.

Our solar system is home to wondrous worlds, mysterious moons, astounding asteroids, and curious comets. But despite myriad telescope surveys of the night sky, most of our celestial neighborhood remains unseen and unknown.

That’s about to change. Thanks to a revolutionary new telescope, huge swaths of the undiscovered solar system will finally come into view. The Vera C. Rubin Observatory (VRO), currently under construction atop the Cerro Pachón ridge in Chile, 8,700 feet up, is not merely going to advance the field of astronomy—it’s going to revolutionize it. A marvel of engineering, software, and scientific ingenuity, this machine has one overarching goal: to document the entire night sky.

Lead Engineer, Travis Lange, inspects the front of the VRO camera lens with a high powered flashlight, looking for dust. The heart of the new observatory, this advanced camera will image the entire Southern Hemisphere sky many times over.

This includes distant objects, from convulsing stars to cosmic explosions, but also the countless objects in the solar system that have eluded skygazers. “It’s going to be a quite complete catalogue of everything in the solar system out to and beyond Neptune,” says Mario Jurić, an astronomer at the University of Washington working with VRO.

The asteroid tally will almost immediately skyrocket. The first asteroid was discovered in 1801. Two centuries later, a million were known. VRO will double that in three to six months.

The observatory may even find the hypothetical Planet Nine, a large world that some astronomers believe is hiding at the solar system’s peripheries. “Probably within the first year we’re going to see if there’s something there or not,” says Pedro Bernardinelli, an astronomer at the University of Washington.

And VRO is set to spot dozens of interstellar objects—visiting entities that have been ejected from other star systems. With these exotic shards of space rock, “we can literally start to figure out what other planetary systems look like,” says Juríc.

Over the course of its ten-year survey, set to commence in 2025, VRO will give astronomers a new encyclopedia of the solar system. “And then we get to understand what that’s all telling us,” says Juríc—about the very origins and evolution of our galactic cradle.

“I think it’s going to rewrite the history books,” says Meg Schwamb, an astronomer at Queen’s University Belfast working with VRO.

Chile’s Almighty Eye

The Vera C. Rubin Observatory, jointly funded by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy, is named after the famed astronomer who revealed the existence of dark matter—an as-yet-undetected substance binding stars and galaxies together. Designed to address a multitude of cosmic queries, the cutting-edge observatory is a beast of a scientific instrument.

“Everything is big about Rubin,” says Sandrine Thomas, the deputy director for VRO construction. “The telescope is superfast. The camera is huge and very precise. The detector is also extremely big. The number of pixels is gigantic.”

Most observatories have either a wide field of view, meaning they can see more of the sky at once, or a huge mirror, which allows more light to be gathered, revealing fainter and more distant objects. But thanks to its paradigm-shifting engineering, VRO has both. It will peruse the entire night sky viewable from the Southern Hemisphere countless times during its decade-long survey, seeing almost everything, almost everywhere.

“This is a once-in-a-generation leap,” says Bernardinelli.

A large airtight box holds filters for the VRO camera. Nitrogen continuously pumped into the chamber is dryer than natural air and prevents the glass from warping.

Beyond The Veil

Many of the worlds VRO will spot will be in the asteroid belt. “This is the mortar left over from planet formation,” says Schwamb.

The observatory will undoubtedly find many modestly sized asteroids orbiting close to Earth, the sort that have so far eluded asteroid-hunting surveys. That means VRO could find future Earth-impactors before they find us, so that we can attempt to avoid a catastrophic asteroid impact.

Other asteroids may be found drifting inside Earth’s orbit, perhaps as part of a hypothesized reservoir of space rocks swimming about close to Venus. And while VRO will populate the inner solar system, it is also set to reveal the architecture of the outer solar system for the first time.

As well as increasing the tally of moons belonging to Jupiter and Saturn (the famously ringed planet currently has 146 confirmed moons), VRO will be able to spy comets starting to effervesce further out than ever before. Apart from a few highly volatile elephantine comets, most of these far-ranging ice balls are not spotted until they approach the sunlit confines of the inner solar system, where they heat up and shed a trail of icy debris.

VRO may permit astronomers to fulfil a long-time dream: find a comet long before it plunges sunward for the first time in its existence. This would represent a pristine, unaltered record from the dawn of the solar system. With enough advance notice, astronomers could even chase it down before it starts cooking. “We’ll be able to send a spacecraft to get up close and personal,” says Schwamb.

Comets come from two places. The Oort Cloud, a hypothesized shell of icy worlds at an unfathomable distance from the sun, has never been directly seen—and VRO won’t change that. But the Kuiper Belt, a torus-shaped ring of gelid objects, including the dwarf planet Pluto, will have its portrait taken by VRO in considerable detail.

Currently, only a few thousand Kuiper Belt objects, or KBOs, have been identified. VRO is expected to find at least that many. The observations will reveal the true structure and contents of the icy belt, and it could also solve a great mystery about the solar system: “How many planets do we have?” says Schwamb.

Over the last decade, some astronomers have suggested that the peculiar orbits of objects at the solar system’s fringes means a Neptune-size planet is lurking somewhere out there, far beyond Pluto. Existing telescopes are highly unlikely to spot such a distant world—but VRO should find Planet Nine, if it exists.

“Imagine if, two years from now, we could say that there’s a new planet in the solar system,” says Bernardinelli. “That’s kind of exciting.”

Visitors From Beyond The Solar System

In 2017 astronomers detected something amazing: the very first interstellar object, 1I/ʻOumuamua, a thin asteroid or comet that had escaped the gravitational grip of another star. It moved into and then out of the solar system at remarkable speeds, giving scientists only a few days to study it. Then, in 2019 a second planetary tourist was found, the comet 2I/Borisov.

With just two known, scientists have very little information about the nature of such interstellar objects. They remind Schwamb of the corners of old maps that no seafarers had yet chronicled: “There be dragons,” she says.

Fortunately, VRO is projected to find a handful of new interstellar objects every year. These envoys from different star systems contain matter that was forged in stellar and planetary environments different from our solar system.

“They’re a sample of the planet formation process at stars all across the galaxy,” says Michele Bannister, an astronomer at the University in Canterbury in New Zealand.

The VRO’s sophisticated eye allows it to see objects in a range of colors, which means scientists can not only spot interstellar objects at considerable distances, but also get an idea of what they are made of. And while the VRO plays the role of the reconnaissance scout, scientists can use other telescopes with a smaller fields of view but better zoom-in capabilities to get closer looks at these alien time capsules.

“If we found one of these things as it was still approaching, and we had a year to observe it, that would be fantastic,” says Juríc.

Everlasting Change

Like all ground-based observatories, VRO will be hampered by the proliferation of low-flying, highly reflective satellites, particularly those belonging to SpaceX’s internet-providing Starlink megaconstellation. The roughly 4,500 Starlinks currently in orbit are already adding bright, white streaks to many astronomical images. SpaceX plans to launch tens of thousands more satellites in the future, which could mean 30 percent of all VRO images would be graffitied.

At present, there is no clear solution to this problem. “We will have to deal with it because we don’t have a choice,” says Bernardinelli. But while megaconstellation light pollution will mar some of VRO’s views, it won’t stop the observatory from being the discovery engine that astronomers have long dreamed about.

“The detail that will be revealed, this beautiful complexity that’s gonna show up—that will fine tune our ability to go from broad-brush histories of the solar system” to something more measured and precise, says Bannister. Currently, as scientists study the outer solar system’s structure, it’s like “seeing faces in clouds.” The VRO will mean that “we have Michelangelo’s David.”

• “1. Right fucking now. Let me see my perfect girl come for me.” He raised his voice. He watched you transcend. Jolts of lightning were rushing through your body. You felt all of your limbs twitch and then fall out, lifeless, like your soul really was gone. Chris took it. He took all of you and he was leaving nothing. He continued to pound his fingers into you until you had nothing left. You screamed, you cried, you cursed. You couldn’t stop. Wave after wave, it hit you until you were shaking uncontrollably. You tried to close your legs, to stop the overstimulation, but Chris held them open. He wasn’t leaving until there was nothing left of you. He felt too good and he was too good. You started to sob. He laid your head forward onto his chest so that you could continue to collect yourself, wipe your tears, and get your breathing back to normal. He pulled your head close to his heart. You could hear it beating slow and steady. He then pulled you back ever so slightly and cupped your face. When he saw you with tears still in your eyes, he wiped them away with his thumbs.

• “Oh my sweet baby,” he whispered and brought his forehead to yours. You could see a tear starting to form in his eye. Then another. Then another. Chris was crying.

• “My sweet, sweet girl,” he repeated, whispering and trying to soothe you. He held onto your face even tighter. “You are so perfect for me, you know that? You did so perfect.”

• You nodded your head lightly, tiny tears still forming in your inner eye from looking at your tear-stained boyfriend. “I’m so in love with you, Channie,” you whispered, now cupping his face too. You planted a kiss on his nose. He grinned at your from underneath his eyelashes.

• “I’m so in love with you too.”

• “So, I’m yours now huh?” You laughed, wiping away your own tears.

• “You’re mine,” Chris said, leaning forward now and smiling into the side of your neck. He laid you back down onto your back as gently as he’s picked you up. “And I’m yours,” he said, now towering over top of you.

• He moved his body to rest between your legs. He planted gentle, soft kisses along your entire body. Any place he bit, bruised, or marked was now being pasted over by the whisper of his calm kiss. Starting from your neck, all the way down until he was face to face with the area he had just used to control you. He planted one last, gentle, sweet, loving kiss and raised back up.

• “You’re mine, and I’m yours,” he said, moving his body on top of you, trapping you in a cage of his limbs. He kissed your lips gently, so as not to hurt any bruises he may have given you. To him, you were the most delicate thing in the world. And you were his. He wanted to be fully yours too. He wanted to be etched into your soul, never to be removed. The thought of living this life eternally tied to you made his heart swell. It made his dick swell too. ‘Oh shit’ he thought. He had gotten so caught up in the moment that he wouldn’t dare ask you to do anything for him. But you felt the twitch. You knew better. You were exhausted, and he knew that. But in that moment, you didn’t care. You wanted to complete the perfect night.”

• “Baby?” You looked up at him.

• “Yes love?” He looked at you with all of the love in the world. He would bend over backwards just to hear you speak his name. Whatever question you had, the answer was undoubtedly, unequivocally yes.

• “I gave my all to you. It’s only fair that you give your all to me. I need you to show me how much you love me. Let’s commemorate the night.”

Capricorn Moon signs start to look more attractive to other people when they reach middle age (after 40).

You may know that the Moon is at its lowest position in Capricorn. So how did I make such an observation despite this position? By middle age, many turning points in a person's life are completed. The moon is one of them. Now the mature (Capricorn) emotions (moon) begin to show themselves.

Then these people, who maximize their emotional maturity, improve the problems in their relationships with their mothers and sometimes succeed in camouflaging their feelings and sometimes in sharing their feelings with people they feel close to.

(This was the position I observed in men).

I think the Sun Ascendant square aspect is really challenging for a man. He has a problem with the authority figure, the father from an early age. It may not be completely confrontational (unless Mars, saturn, uranus and pluto are in hard influence)

Being in the same environment together can make them feel like they are being restricted. Maybe they feel that something is wrong. But is it really what they think it is? Yes. With the other person, (the Sun) it is very difficult for them to forget everything and get back together with them. (Orb should be maximum 6)

Although they say that Juno is only a marriage indicator and other asteroids can show ceremonies like weddings, I don't go into that much detail. I think even Juno can show the wedding process. Chiron - Moon square aspect, this aspect allows you to feel the healing and wounded spirit of Chiron deep down. Let's not discuss whether it's good or bad, but it's certainly very palpable. Your emotions are shaped by "compassion". For example, you see a homeless man and a little child a little further away. You feel infinite compassion for these two people and a desire to give them a home. You take into account the situation and circumstances and just think that they are in need of help. Independently of this, I find it interesting that people with this aspect do not get enough support from the women around them. Maybe this is how the "lacking" aspect of chiron works. Having a Venus-Neptune-Jupiter T-square. The signs and houses where the planets are located will play a serious role. I know someone who has this T-square in 2nd-4th-10th houses. I realized that he is not where he is supposed to be because of his family's pressures. He doesn't want to talk about it but I can observe it. Sometimes his mother and sometimes his father try to shape his future position, how he will earn money without asking him. This will hurt him a lot but he has a very strong character and he will get what he wants at the end of this path.

Having Pluto aspects in synastry is known to be quite difficult. But you should know that it is difficult for the planetary person. Because they are both deeply attracted to Pluto's mysterious aura and very annoyed by it. Both of these feelings are exhausting for them. I am not saying that Pluto benefits from this, but things are much simpler for Pluto. It's the other one who gets exhausted.

You had met the love of your life at the time when you needed him most. On that day it had seemed like the world had fallen into complete disarray around you, nothing made sense, nothing was right. And then he walked in - Akaashi Keiji, the boy who spoke in poems.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Such a simple question that he had asked you that lonely summer's night.

To you, there was no beauty. Not anymore. "What do you mean?"

"The night, the stars, the vastness of it all," he began, the awe in his voice almost tangible, "And that in all of this universe's chaos, here we are. So broken, yet so perfect."

"I don't get what you're talking about. This world is nothing but cruel disorder," The words fell out of your mouth like acid. That night, you hated the world. That fateful summers night.

"Then let me show you."

Keiji wasn't always a poetic gentleman. He was sarcastic, and got exasperated with his friends, and at times he took your games of chess a bit too seriously.

But he never stopped being a dreamer. Not once did he stop looking at the sky with grey eyes filled with wonder. Keiji sought out the beauty in it all, and he showed it to you.

The chirping of birds early in the morning. The smell of freshly baked bread. The warmth of a good book. The graceful sound of a language you don't speak. The secret smiles exchanged between lovers. The little differences between each and every human being. Humanity.

Perhaps there was some beauty after all.

It has been five years since you first met the love of your life. And now you find yourself in the same place, with the same man.

"Isn't it beautiful?" The same Keiji, with the same question.

His eyes are fixed on the stars, just outside the window.

"It really is," You hold his hand tightly, smiling fondly at the recollection of all the time Keiji had spent showing you the beauty that you once failed to recognize.

"The night, the stars, the vastness of it all... and through all the chaos, here we are... in a universe where I have loved you," His voice is weak. It has always been soft, but this is different. Almost hollow. Even still, you cherish each glorious phrase to leave his lips.

He continues, unwavering, "So many of these stars, so far away, have long since stopped burning... and yet they still cast their light upon us. I like to think that we are like that too... our memory persisting through death."

"Keiji, how do you do it? Through all of this, and you're still so hopeful. How do you do it?" Even with Keiji at your side, the months have worn at your soul, have clawed at what light remained in your life.

"I see the beauty in everything... especially you," His words are reduced to nothing more than a whisper.

"I love you, Keiji. I always will."

"I'm glad to have loved you."

Akaashi Keiji, the boy who spoke in poems, has at last joined the stars he so adored.

The Ring Nebula (M57), is more complicated than it appears through a small telescope. The easily visible central ring is about one light-year across, but this remarkable exposure by the James Webb Space Telescope explores this popular nebula with an exposure in infrared light. Strings of gas, like eyelashes around a cosmic eye, become evident around the nebula in this digitally enhanced featured image in assigned colors. These long filaments may be caused by the shadowing of knots of dense gas in the ring from energetic light emitted within. The Ring Nebula is an elongated planetary nebula, a type of gas cloud created when a Sun-like star evolves to throw off its outer atmosphere to become a white dwarf star. The central oval in the Ring Nebula lies about 2,500 light-years away toward the musical constellation Lyra.
