everyone celebrating india's mission to the moon's south pole i love you and im with you but this is NOT india's first accomplishment in space!! im seeing a lot of people saying that but its not true. some other things we've done:
confirm the presence of water and ice on the moon
was the first asian nation to reach mars orbit, and the first nation IN THE WORLD to reach it in it's maiden attempt
saved thousands of lives from cyclone phailin in 2013 over the four days, resulting in 45 deaths when without them, would have been in the thousands at minimum
launched the first successful flight using the indigenous cryogenic engine
successfully neutralized a satellite in space with an anti-satellite (mission shakti, anyone?)
launched 104 satellites with one (1) rocket
THE VIKAS ENGINE??? HELLO?? NAMBI NARAYANAN??? even if you didnt know him before, surely youve seen the movie rocketry?
not to mention everything we've done in coordination with other nations, and achievements from Indian scientists and astronauts that were then taken by other nations, usually during war. plus, we've always been much more cost efficient than our space-faring peer nations
all to say!! we've always been there, and we've always been strong. our mission now only proves that, and we should scream it loud and proud for any westerner who ignores us again

Thursday, August 24.
Chandrayaan-3.
India has become the first country to land at the lunar south pole, and we consider this very cool space news. Among the very coolest of space news, perhaps. And truth be told it is truly *monumental*. While many are discussing the usual geopolitical gossip that seemingly goes in tandem with such cool space news, the significance of the landing not for any one nation, but potentially for the human race, is huge. So today, to the nation of India, its brilliant scientists at Isro, and all those who worked towards #chandrayaan3, we salute your fine, very cool space work.
One of the mission's principal aims will be to search for water-based ice that, scientists believe, could support future human habitation on the Moon. However, we would ask you to spare a thought at this time for the plucky little rover, who will wizz (albeit slowly) around the Moon's south pole for one lunar day (around 14 Earth days.) Named Pragyan, which means “wisdom” in Sanskrit, the rover will analyze the elemental composition of the Moon’s surface, and assess the composition of elements like magnesium and aluminium in the lunar soil around the landing site.
But we can't help but think of this cute little rover, its six wheels leaving imprints of Isro and India’s national emblem on the lunar surface, up there frightened, away from home, all alone :(

CHANDRAYAAN 3 HAS LANDED. IT HAS LANDED. DO YOU KNOW HOW BIG OF A THING THIS IS. FIRST OF ALL, huge step for mankind cuz well the south pole is unexplored territory so the findings will add on to future major researches and programs and it will play a huge part in our understanding of the moon's geography AND scientists have said that there might be remenants of ice and other elements which will again add on to or understanding of the moon and will be very important for future scientists and researchers. Also, this successful landing makes India the first ever country to land on the south pole of the moon and the and has also become the fourth country to master the technology of soft landing, making history. It took around 74 million(600 crores) to make( THAT'S A SHITTON OF MONEY ). It was launched on July 14 and landed today, August 23. It's predecessor, chandrayaan 2 was not quite a success but this second attempt, which was very successful is going to enhance our understanding of the moon. And I am losing my balls over this landing because I'm a HUGE NERD FOR ASTRONOMY.

I just woke up to Destiel News™ informing me of India becoming the first country to land on the lunar south pole of the moon with a budget lower than a goddamn hollywood film, like where else am I going to my news as clear cut and immediate as this? I love this app.
#destiel#spn#supernatural#india#chandrayaan3#isro#the budget was approx 75million (not a lot for space projects) - Oppenheimer was approx 100million#also congrats to the team and the people! amazing work and historical event :))#moon landing#desiblr

200 students leaving their lectures early and rushing to an auditorium Hall where the moon landing is being screened and then SCREAMING AND SHOUTING AND STOMPING when it finally happens has truly been one of my Once-in-a-lifetime college experiences😭😭
