He's a pureblood. That's GENERATIONS of magic mixing and strengthening. That's CULTURE and LEGACY in the library at Grimauld. It's knowledge he 100% had instilled from a young age. No way Walburga would let him get away with not doing it. He's going to be extremely gifted. I don't appreciate the fabdom acting like pureblood magic isn't slightly different and potentially a bit more innate because they would have grown up around it, unlike muggle borns or some half bloods.

Sirius would be so inteligent, he's upper class. It's what they do. Also, this is just people trying to smash a typical heterosexual dynamic onto a gay couple. Like, no, there doesn't have to be a less capable? In any relationship? That ideal stems from misogyny and we shouldn't be applying that to anyone, let alone a gay couple?

People don't get that their prejudice seeps into their worl and supporting queers doesn't equal unlearning the shit we were indoctrinated with.

I just think Sirius Black is good at everything, actually.

"He had bad grades, and Remus had to help him study" wrong. He was actually one of the best in his year without even trying, while others had to kill themselves studying. He was amazing at Quidditch, even without waking up at seven a.m. to practice like James. Just a few tries, and he got it.

"He didn’t care about school" wrong. He did, just not in the way people expected. He didn’t take notes or study like Remus, but he listened. He remembered things. He got into debates with professors—not just for fun, but because he deeply cared about the topics. Sometimes, his points were so sharp they had to pause and rethink their own arguments.

"He was terrible at cooking and almost burned the whole place down every time he tried" also wrong. He rarely did it because he was lazy, but when he did, he didn’t even need to glance at the recipe. Somehow, whatever he made always turned out incredible.

"He was all talk and no skill in dueling" wrong again. He was fast, instinctive, reckless, yes, but brilliant. He didn’t just memorize spells... he understood them, twisted them, made them work for him in ways they weren’t supposed to. Always calculated.

And people always thought he never took anything seriously, but that’s the most wrong of all. He was talented, yes, but he also observed, learned fast, adapted. He didn’t practice like James, but he watched, took in details, and adjusted. He made up for what he didn’t know and made things look easy because he refused to let anyone see how much he cared. About winning. About proving himself. About making sure no one ever saw the cracks.

I am not yet caught up on CR3 (working on it!) but am aware of the broad strokes of the ending. And there's something... hmm, I like the god-related ending and what it sets up for the future (Downfall made me feel very invested in the gods as characters in the world), but there's something that feels funny about it to me because it pretty much perfectly answers the actual problem that we saw people having with the gods over and over (which is that people wanted more connection with the gods and more interference from the gods and it was the Divine Gate that was causing the disconnection and the issues) but did not at all address what we were being told but not shown on-screen (which was that the gods were interfering too much and had too much control over people and their fates).

So I'm in a weird place of "huh, they didn't solve the problem that they said they wanted to solve but they DID solve the problem that people were actually having".

Losing it over this scene actually.

He is saying this about his research (about the plants), he is saying this while looking at Rio, who is forcefully kept in a state between life and death but he also sees his reflection while doing so.

And not only that, for a split second, his reflection appears (I won't say healthier because health is not purely defined by one's outward appearance but) less stained by his illness, by what is actively killing him, reflected preserved in the tub, and then it's followed by a shot back at him accentuating the contrast.

We already know there are parallels between Viktor and Rio, especially regarding Singed and his dialogue in both seasons as well as Shimmer and the parallel shots, but it's just one more detail to add.

And that's not even talking about:

Viktor (looking at Shimmer): Will it work on plants? Singed: You aren't here about the plants, are you? I know the look of a doomed man.

Singed: I must warn you. If you take this path, they will despise you. Love and legacy are the sacrifices we make for progress. It's why I parted ways with Heimerdinger.

Viktor: Jayce will understand. Singed: Perhaps.

Because all that comes to mind when hearing love and legacy and the possibility of being despised by all is his partner's opinion.
