“So where did you say you transferred from?” Mira froze for a second glancing at a more than nervous Apple before turning to look at Raven.

“I didn’t. But it doesn’t matter it was shit school anyway.” Raven hummed and stirred her drink with some magic as before abruptly jumping.

“You alright?” Raven made the spilled drink disappear with a wave of her hand, she hoped her cheeks weren’t too red as she turned to look at Mira.

“Hmmm? Of yeah totally fine.” Raven winced at how unconvincing her voice was but hoped Mira and the others didn’t notice.

Seeing the tense atmosphere, Apple leaned forward while giggling. “Are your sure Raven? Because I see Dexter coming over.” Mira perked up, running her tongue along her teeth.

“Who’s Dexter?” Raven flushed but gave the two girls the signal to shut up as Dexter appeared before her.

“Hi Rave-!”

“Hey Dext-!”

“Oh you go first Raven.” Mira inspected the boy, noting his distinct Charming appearance and obvious name. Who knew her daughter was head over heels for a Charming?

She remembered how she loathed king charming when she was back in school, but had been at least a tiny bit civil for the good kings sake.

“Oh and this Mira! She’s a transfer student.” Raven placed her hand on her shoulder and Mira gave the boy a small smile in acknowledgment.

She would just have to corner him later and interrogate him. Nothing bad of course couldn’t reveal who she truly was.

“So you’re the second Charming brother.” Dexter shifted uncomfortably as he glanced at Raven. Raven sighed and kicked Mira in the leg hoping to get the message across.

“Uhh yeah I am. Well I have to borrow Raven for something but it was good to meet you Mira.”

Mira clicked her tongue and gave a small smile as she watched the two walk away. They looked like live sick puppies but she found that she didn’t hate the idea of her daughter with that boy.

“So what’s Dexter like? Does he treat my Raven right.” She gave a glare towards Apple, the girl shifting uncomfortably.

“Oh he’s very nice and sweet. He likes to read and study and that stuff.” Mira wouldn’t admit it but those qualities reminded her of the good king.

Sometimes she really did wonder how alike she and Raven were in different things.

Dexter rounded the hallway, cleaning his glasses with his shirt as he headed to the dorms.

“Dexter!” He froze before turning to look at that new girl. She leaning against the wall a purple flame of magic that looked a little too much like Ravens dancing between her fingers.

“So what do you think of Raven. She’s pretty isn’t she?” Mira stared him down, essentially freezing him on the spot.

“Why do you want to know?” He wasn’t usually this bold, but he found there was something strange about Mira. Something… evil about her.

“I’m just curious as to the type of guy the daughter of the evil queen is dating.” Dexter furrowed his brows, he wasn’t a fan when someone associated Raven to her mother.

They were nothing alike so it just didn’t feel right.

“Umm yeah… she’s very pretty and the sweetest kindest person I’ve met. Nothing like her mother.” He hoped she would get the hint as he emphasized the last part.

“So you have only good intentions then. Not going to lead her on?” Mira stepped out the shadows her eyes now glowing an amethyst.

“What no! I would never, I’m completely serious about Raven. I even wish that were destined.” Mira stoped for a second, a feeling that she couldn’t quite understand growing in her chest.

But as they heard footsteps fast approaching Mira was quick to grab onto his collar of his shirt. “Listen here Dexter. If you do anything and I mean anything to upset my dau- Raven I will be the last thing you see.”

She shoved him back roughly as the footsteps rounded the corner. “Mira? Dexter? What are you guys doing?”

Mira glared at the boy one final time before putting on a smile. “Nothing just happened to run into each other. Isn’t that right.”

The glare she gave him sent shivers down Dexters spine, but he nodded and grabbed Ravens hand as he started to pull her back to the direction of the dorms.

“See you around… Mira.”

As they left out of sight Mira went into an empty classroom her mind swirling as she transformed back into her original self.

The evil queen smirked as she cast a purple globe, watching as the charming boy behaved like the perfect gentleman to her daughter.

She supposed that this wasn’t the worst prince that her daughter could have picked. He reminded her of the good king at times so yes he wasn’t the worst choice.

DUET SPOILERS!

Did anyone else do the 3rd season quest for Duet yet? Cause holy hell. I was not expecting things to get that intense. Poor Celloist 😦

I hope they both died at the same time so they didn't have to watch their childhood friend (and maybe lover) die.

Also the appearance of spirits is VERY interesting timeline wise as someone who's only half caught up with the order of seasons. I was not expecting to see the abyss spirits. Kinda expected them to be "the last people standing" type deal at the end of the world. Considering their scavenger nature + the state of the abyss ruins.

I wonder if the shards raining down on aviary will be the catalyst as to why The Steward/Dusk Ember makes the journey towards eden. Watching two people die in front of an audience and having to flee creatures of darkness would certainly be a motive... poor baby

Uhh random Ripple Star Fairy headcanons because I have a lot of these. The fairies are barely known about and I love Kirby 64, so that leaves plenty of room for me to speculate and headcanon

- There are two types of fairies- royal fairies and normal fairies. Royal fairies are about the height of your average human when full grown, and are almost always female. Fairies also only have queens, so male royals often go to live in far off parts of the planet because of how matriarchal fairy society is. Royal fairies always have black hair and violet eyes. Normal fairies are the ones you see all over the place! They make up for 99% of the fairy population. Normal fairies can have hair in any color but black, and it’s usually a vibrant color, and blue eyes

- Baby fairies are very, very little. So small. They fit in the palm of your hand. They only grow to about 3 feet tall after all. They are also quite fragile, especially their wings. Their wings are like that of a butterfly when they’re first born, being wet and so sensitive that any wrong touch to them will permanently affect that fairy. Artificial attempts at drying the wings of a newborn fairy can cause the wings to crystalize, so they’re often just taken close care of by their mothers until they dry on their own

- Fairies love rocks. Mostly gemstones, but still. Because crystals are so important to them, they hold all rocks in a high regard

- Speaking of, the Crystal. It’s the most important part of fairy society because of what it can do. The Crystal is capable of taking the form of any weapon depending on the wielder and is able to truly destroy Dark Matter. It also produces a very special kind of water when moisture collects on it and falls off. This water, kept in a bowl below the Crystal, can heal any wound or other ailment

- Fairies have weird diets. They need sugar to survive, both natural and artificial. They eat fruits and baked goods and pastries, meaning that most fairies are either farmers or bakers. They can eat other things, but often don’t

- Some fairies will form a very strong, super close platonic bond with a non-fairy. This is more than best friends but not quite romantic. This relationship is what Adeleine and Ribbon have

- Fairies tend to sleep in piles. They will sleep in their own beds, but also like to cuddle a lot. They love touch and reassurance. In the palace, this fairy cuddle pile usually happens on top of Adeleine, who doesn’t mind being crushed

- Fairies and Dark Matter are natural enemies. They fight a lot. Dark Matter are more scared of fairies than fairies are of them because of the Crystal

- Fairies can purr. They just can

- Despite not having any form of scales on their wings, fairies still shed. This “shedding” is actually shiny light particles that fall off their wings during springtime due to the change in season

- Ripple Star doesn’t get very cold at all and always has warm temperatures and no crazy weather, so fairies aren’t used to different weather. Ribbon didn’t have a very fun time on Shiver Star

- Fairies almost always have four wings- two sets of two- that are shiny and iridescent. Royal fairies also have four wings, but their wings have a distinct heart and diamond shaped pattern in them, denoting their royalty

- Queen Ripple, the current Queen of the Fairies, is quite young for a fairy. She is the same size as a younger human, after all

- Fairies love sunning themselves. They’ll often lay in fields and just let the light reflect off of their wings and absorb the light

- Adeleine is treated as an honorary fairy

I have so much Shard on the brain so here's some more about his story in this AU

His redemption is a bit different to his Archie counterpart, and he's still got a bit of a bitter streak when it comes to Sonic. He's decided he hates Eggman more, though.

Sitting in one spot, unable to move and clinging to life among the metallic remains of your fellow robots just as abandoned as you are does something to a bot. To go from your most powerful in the form of Metal Overlord, who could think and act freely away from the commands of his creator to take the world he thought he deserved as his own...

Only to end up as part of the rubble in the water.

Day and night, day and night, day and night, until time seems to loose meaning. But he keeps count. The sun rises, it sets, and the shattered remains of Metal Overlord remain. A hundred years pass, and it comes to reason he's outlived Sonic and Eggman. Just barely, as a shadow of himself, but he takes the victory as his own.

Another hundred years pass. His self-aware AI comes to the realization that he can't be the true Sonic. The true Sonic is a living being. And a living being scarcely lives for over a century, let alone two. So he's not Sonic. At least, not anymore. The memories aren't his, if they ever belonged to him in the first place.

Day and night, day and night, day and night, until all the water has drained away from the pit he'd been rusting in for centuries. The base is uncovered under a darkened sky, and a familiar face, along side an unfamiliar hoglet with Silver quills, find what remains of him.

He's the only thing that can be salvaged. He was built to be a magnum opus, the greatest creation in a genius man's career, so of course he would survive this long. He was built to endure.

So why was he thrown away?

They take his remains to a different self aware AI, who calls herself Sage. They were made by the same person, and yet Shard can tell how much more free Sage is. Eggman must have changed after he was thrown away. This only makes Shard angrier at his old creator. This self aware AI gets to live freely, and Shard gets thrown away?!

He doesn't hold it against Sage.

Sage helps Shard choose his new body. Shard isn't Sonic anymore, so he calls himself Shard. The name feels fitting, as he's only a fragment of the bot he used to be. But it's his name, and his body, which he's changed to be NOT SONIC because he doesn't want anything to do with that old, dead hedgehog anymore.

The world he wanted to run around freely and without restraint is finally his, but it's wrong. The skies are grey, and the land is fragmented. There's no life, no breeze, no green grass or chirping birds to signal the dawn of a new day.

There's no Sonic running around the world like he owns it, with friends Shard thought he had once, but he doesn't even know anymore. Nothing living can thrive in a future like this.

It's everything Neo Metal Sonic would have wanted.

But now that Shard has it, he comes to realize that this isn't what he wants, anymore.

What if Lance was present during the Void Shard cutscene?

Marlon was obviously worried but didn't show much reactions to the news, since he's not a wizard and he probably spends little time in the Badlands, but Lance would be much more familiar both with what is happening there and the meaning behind the shard itself. He'd be an interesting addition to the event.

I'm not even sure Marlon and Magnus are aware how massive and strong Apophis is after the cutscene, they seem to act like it's just a bigger serpent and not the king of all the corrupted monsters in the Badlands. It's possible that whatever teams will be sent to fight Apophis will be in great danger simply for severely underestimating the monster even after the farmer warns them (in part because they also underestimate the farmer).

Lance is more familiar with the monsters there (and he researches monsters for a living), he'd probably ask a lot more questions about the much larger and stronger serpent the farmer battled for once. I assume he's at least be interested in how much larger the serpent was and farmer's answer will shock him at lot more. After all he spent a lot of time fighting in the Badlands and he never encountered anything like that.

So he would also be curious about where this serpent was when the farmer fought it, at least to make sure both him and his colleagues can at least not stumble upon the monster unprepared. The fact that Apophis is hiding in a place adventurers never reach is also something Marlon and Magnus never learned, again probably because they are not very familiar with the Badlands, not in the same way someone who fights there weekly would be. And Lance would be able to understand just how weird that is by remembering how deep in the Badlands he himself reached. Apophis seems to always be just barely out of reach for adventurers to meet him, why didn't he ever left his territory to go after the ones who got close to the boneyard?

And finally he would have more to say about the shard itself. He's more familiar with the void magic and the corruption happening in the Badlands than Marlon, so he'll understand how dangerous and unusual that shard is as soon as he'll see it. He's also probably not trained in communicating with the elementals like Magnus is, but he probably understands enough about it to ask more questions. And he'll definitely discuss more with Marlon what the shard shattering means. Or at least he'll try but Magnus will probably rush them both to the Ministry.

Since he can visit the Ministry as a wizard he'll leave with Magnus I assume. And although he'll probably be forbidden to talk about the Ministry's decision he'll still give a few for hints than Magnus. Like mentioning that he's worried or how unusual Apophis is even for the Badlands or something.

(This would mean he'd also be more familiar with the shard's energy and when the farmer will end up with the Seal of Silence on them he'll be more aware with what that means and panic more about it. After all, whoever is responsible for the Corruption not only took a personal interest in the farmer but also forces them to not talk about anything relating to it. The farmer could get tortured every few days for all Lance knows and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it, or even know about it since the farmer can't even ask for help. And if the shard self destructed when Magnus tried to learn more about it who's to say the Seal won't kill the farmer if Lance starts asking them questions about it? It's a lot more dramatic this way :D Imagine the worry and the guilt for not being able to protect the farmer🤤)
