Stay a Little Longer - part 3
Fic masterlist
Written for @tomtenadia as part of the 2024 Rowaelin secret Santa!
In the last scene, I used some lines from canon and mixed it with my own! Hope you guys like it <3

The explosion erupted with a thundering roar, overpowering the hiss of the water as flames blinded the view of the target and engulfed the air with heat.
It was only their second meeting, and Rowan had given up on fixing his hair after the explosions. Aelin also noted that the targets were progressively getting less hardâthe blocks of ice increasingly bigger, and her goal went from slowly melting it to merely making sure he saw some of the water before it evaporated.
âYou should take a break. Iâll reinforce the magic barriers in the meantime,â he said.
Every day, he did it repeatedly. As if it meant nothing that Aelinâs magic could wreck barriers this strong in a few blows.
In fact, in all her clumsy explosivity, Rowan had never shied away from her magicâhe seemed to be almost drawn to it, which made her relieved and scared at the same time. Relieved because, after witnessing so many people become terrified of her after displaying her magic, her name was thrown around in a way that portrayed her as either a god or a monsterâbut not with Rowan. With Rowan, the first teacher who wasnât even remotely scared of her, Aelin was just herself.
But what did it mean?
Thatâs the part that got her terrified. Because somethingâwhether it was a bond or a tendonïżœïżœïżœsnapped in that drawing room when their magics touched, and it was with the sole person in the world that felt completely at ease with her magic.
Rowan felt it too. He got the types of bond mixed up due to some physical attraction he might be feeling for herâcould she blame him?âbut heâd figure it out soon.
In desperate need of a deviation from her own thoughts, Aelin said, âItâs hard to believe youâre this patient in the military.â
âThatâs because Iâm not. My mate gets a special treatment.â
âWould you stop?â
âThe bond will still be there whether I stop or not, Princess.â Rowan tilted his head and stopped his work to peer at her. Something about her expression made him sigh. âBut youâre not comfortable.â
âIâm not comfortable because weâre not mated.â
Rowan nodded, and a flash of disappointment and longing passed in his eyes, quicker than she could register, and he said, âI shall stop, then.â
The ache in her chest felt foreign, since he was finally granting her wishes. Aelin just wanted for Prince Rowan to forget about this without hurting him in the process.
âCâmere,â she said, tapping the patch of floor beside her. âIn your many, many years, have you ever met a mated demi-Fae?â
âJust once, this couple from Mistward,â Rowan said as he sat next to her. âBut my experience in Doranelle isnât a good standard. I hear that things are less⊠segregated in Terrasen. Better.â
She frowned. âYou guys truly donât mingle with demi-Fae?â
âThat issue is both social and personal, Iâm afraid. Indeed, the demi-Fae that are allowed inside Doranelle donât get to frequent the same places I usually doâwhich are among the high command of the military and in sporadical nobility parties my family coerces me to attend. With that in mind, I donât mingle,â he said, using the exact wording of her question, âI constantly avoid social interactionsâfull-blooded or demi-Fae.â He sighed at her aghast expression. âTherefore, the only demi-Fae I see on a daily basis, unfortunately, is Lorcan.â
Doranelleâs one and only Grand General, while Rowan was âjustâ a regular general.
âUnfortunately because youâre from a deeply prejudiced land, or because you donât wish to interact with Lorcan?â
âBoth.â
âI see.â Aelin blinked, her gaze unfocused as she processed what she heard. She knew what the demi-Faeâs situation was in Doranelle, but it was always presented to her during meetings, as an statistic. Listening to Rowanâs point-of-view on the matter felt like a punch to the gutâwhile Aelin herself was a queen in the making, the kitchens were the furthest her own people could get inside Doranelleâs castle.
Once more, Aelin was glad she wasnât Prince Rowanâs mate. As decent as he appeared to be, she did not want to be associated with the likes of himâpersonally or politically.
Aelin straightened, her chin high as she snarked, âAt least you have a diversity token. I guess being the most powerful demi-Fae male alive is enough for Maeve to look past his unclean blood.â
Rowan shifted, still sat on the floor, his eyes careful as he analyzed Aelinâs expression. âTo ensure thereâs no misunderstandingâŠâ he trailed, âIâm throughly repulsed by Maeveâs policies against the demi-Faeâwhich Sellene is already rectifying.â
âOh, yes, and Iâm throughly moved by your silent disagreement.â
His eyebrows rose up. âI beg your pardon?â
It hadnât been even half an hour after Rowanâs calming exercise, but she could already feel the agitated fire beneath her skin, boiling the blood in her veins from indignation alone.
âHow dare you imply that you were not complacent, in your mulberry silk tunic that was most likely stitched by an overworked demi-Fae seamstress. Your aunt,â Aelin spat the word, âbuilt an empire founded on the exploitation and degradation of people like me, and yet you want me to believe youâd ever spare me a second glance, were it not for my title?â
âI would.â
She frowned, trying to see through that fog of anger. âWhat?â
âYou doubted Iâd look at you twice, and Iâm telling you I would.â Rowan sighed. âAs an unessential prince with no decision-making power,â he said with a pointed look, âI find it most practical to make changes from within. Small and well-measured acts of rebellion tend to be the most effective when youâre close to the people actively making the decisions.â
Aelin examined his open expression and wondered if he was trying to deceive her, or if he truly believed himself. âBut it was not you who rebelled against her, was it? Maeve was killed by the people you vowed and failed to protect.â
âI suppose she was.â Rowan locked his jaw, his eyes growing distant.
ËË
Their next few encounters got a lot less awkward once Aelin got those opinions off her chest, thank Mala.
Once she had learned the basics when it came to intensity, range, aim and everything else, she asked to pick the lessonâs activity for once, just in time to get the materials ready before they met again at The Dueling Hall.
âEasy,â he warned when her flames got too hot, too fast.
âHush.â Aelin wiped the sweat off her brow, fatigue weighing down her limbs each minute she had to keep the flames at a controlled and gradually higher intensityâshe wasnât melting ice anymore, the stakes were too high. âIâve got it under control, you Buzzard.â
âThe same way you did when you shattered my mug?â
Aelin rolled her eyes at him, and her flames got involuntarily higher after his jab, making a shard blow off her candle holder, ruining its practical use.
She groaned and tossed it aside, along with the other overburnt ceramics. âThis one was your fault. Donât suffocate the artist!â
âIt was useless before you ruined it. Youâre a fire-wielder. You donât need candles. Why on earth would you make a candle holder?â
âBecause I have the fire, not the scented beeswax.â
âIâm not following.â
âYouâve never lit up a scented candle before? Those ones that release a fragrance when you light them up.â
Rowan stared at her, seemingly struggling to process this information. âBut candles are for light. Why are you adding smell to the light?â
The brute. Aelin wouldnât even bother with him this time. She threw a piece of clay at him for another roundâshe refused to leave this place without a clayware creation of her own.
âDonât make anything too intricate in case you burn it again.â
âYou are the worst teacher ever. Youâve got absolutely no faith in me.â
âI have faith that youâll become a proficient wielder someday, not immediately after you overburned four pieces of clayware in a row.â He pondered over his next words while opening a hole into the ball of clay. âThink about it this way: this is a safe space for you to make mistakes. Youâd rather learn from them here than when the stakes are high.â
She couldnât argue with that. âAre you speaking from experience?â
Rowan tilted his head, his hands pausing their work as his gaze grew unfocused. âNothing ever happened at work, though my family does like to recall some embarrassing stories from time to time.â
âDo tell!â she asked with a little too much excitement, wide-eyed.
Rowan chuckled and looked back at his mug-to-be as he recalled. âIn my pre-teen years, I used to practice my healing magic with animals. This one time, my motherâs Asterion mare was having a difficult birth. It took ages for the veterinarian to arrive and she was under so much stress, so I decided to send a soft breeze towards her andââ
Rowan winced.
âAnd what?â Aelin set aside her chunk of clay and leaned forward, unashamed to show her eagerness.
âI blew down the entire stable.â He looked down, the slightest hue of pink tinting the tips of his ears.
Aelin cackled, her shoulders bending forward as her laughter filled the dueling hall. Rowan regarded her with a funny expression her aching ribcage didnât allow her to decipher.
âItâs not that funny,â he said with mock-indignation.
âWere any animals hurt?â
âJust a few scrapes I healed immediately after.â
âThen it is absolutely hilarious.â
Chuckling, he shook his head and shaped his mugâs handle with a string of clay. âIâm sure you have even worse stories.â
âWorse? Yes. But not funnier in a million years.â Aelin looked down to her work and resumed shaping it. She needed something to do with her hands if she was going to talk about it. âThe extent of my power was supposed to be kept a secret until I was of age, but it was impossible to do it when I couldnât control it at all, so soon I was being watched by the entire world. If I accidentally blew up a wing of the castle, shortly other kingdoms would fund local rebels or demand restrictions on my use of power in treaties. Or maybe Maeveâthe creepiest of allâwould send my mother another letter requesting to meet me. The pacing and worrying was a constant in my youthâwill she try to kidnap me next? How much power can I wield without having other kingdoms trying to harm or kill me?â
To her relief, Rowan didnât show any pity. âItâs twisted and messed up. If anyone can learn how to navigate this, itâs you.â
Aelin didnât feel like there was anything else to say, so she didnât. Her soon-to-be ceramic was already shaped, and so was Rowanâsâshe couldnât tell by how done it looked, but by how equally ugly it was from the others he gave her to fire.
Aelin appraised it while starting with a low intensity of her fire.
While she tried to achieve the best shape she could for her work, Rowanâs mugs were done as soon as it looked useable enough. If the handle fits his hand, the bottom is flat enough to stay still and the hole is deep enough to hold his coffee, itâs done.
âEasy,â Rowan warned when her flames grew a bit higher.
âShut it,â she hissed.
They were both kneeling, one on each side, hovering over their potterâs work.
âI better have a new mug after this lesson, Princess.â
âYou couldâve had three new mugs by now if youâd help me out a little.â
âIf I were helping you out ever since the lessons started, youâd be turning the clay into dust, not merely shattering it.â
Aelin wanted to sneer back, she absolutely did, but she was halfway into it and not a single shard had popped off the ceramics. As if Rowan had sensed it too, his attention was now wholly on their work.
A bit more. Increase just a bit more intensity, slow and steadyâ
A small, outer piece of Rowanâs mug handle fell off and, without thinking, he lowered down her flames.
âGods,â he said, stupefied with his unintended help. âI wasnât thinkingââ
She shushed him, still focused on the flames. Now that he had set the perfect amount, sheâd just have to keep it.
Keep it
Keep it
Steady
Rowan breathed, âJust a bit more andââ
A small shard of Aelinâs own piece fell off.
âDonât,â he said. âIt was nothing. Minimal damage. Just keep up like this.â
She did exactly that, rubbing her face as she swayed on her knees from fatigue; still, she willed her fire to stay and act exactly as she commanded.
âDo you think itâs done now?â
âDonât hush it.â His eyes were glued to the nearly done clayware. âWeâre almost there.â
Aelin couldnât bear to count the time. The amount of time she had to spend burning these things, controlling the fire so it wouldnât break, was tiresome in the least. This was the longest she stayed without seriously tearing their work, and her other two attempts weighed down on her now.
âI think you can put it off nowâslowly,â Rowan said.
Aelin complied her shoulders relaxing each time she decreased her fire, but still trying to maintain a steady rhythm.
She heaved a loud sigh and threw herself on the floor.
âCongratulations, Princess.â Rowan beamed at the ugliest mug sheâs ever seen. His fingers wrapped around the gap in the handle as he mimicked lifting it to his mouth and said, âYouâve just burned functional enough clayware.â
She ignored his sass and grinned to herself, facing the ceiling. âThank you.â
He laid as well, beside her, and handed her his mug. âYou should have it. Itâs your accomplishment.â
âBut you wanted your mug so bad!â She said as she turned to face him. He did the same.
âI didnât want the mug itself as much as I wanted for it to be whole by the end of the lesson.â
âThank you,â she said, holding the mug with both hands with a small smile, as if it was something precious. She set it down and reached for her own creation. âYou shall have mine, then. Itâs only fair.â
Rowan chuckled. âThank you for the lovely⊠miniature wand?â He laid it on the palm of his handâhis very large hand, in her defense.
Aelin gasped. âItâs a spoon!â
âA spoon,â he trailed, saucy yet cautious with her gift as he gently trailed his finger along it.
âOf course. You always carry so many knifes around, but Iâve never seen you carry a spoon,â she teased.
âHow wise of you.â The corner of his lips twitched, but he was the kind of man that clamped down even the tiniest of smiles. âIâve gotten too comfortable with my weapons lately. Finding a way to harm someone with this will be a good exercise.â
She didnât doubt he would.
ËË
In all her twenty-one years, Aelin had never grown to love her flames.
Sheâd feared them and their potential to harm.
Sheâd felt amused by them at the time sheâd accidentally set some of Lord Suriaâs papers on fire, when he drafted a proposal for a law that pissed her off.
Sheâd embarrassed herself among burnt books and under the gaze of an enraged librarian.
At best, she respected herself and her gift.
But right now, Aelin loved it.
The wind blew away her hair as she ran and twirled around the beach, the sand soft and loose under her feet while she opened her arms wide for the flames to dance on them.
Her chest felt so big and wide it didnât feel like that at allâit felt as if itâd opened itself to welcome the entire world inside of her, and Aelin and this beach were one and the same.
I love this. I love this. I love this.
And Aelin wasnât the only one affected. For the first time, sheâd seen Rowan allow a full grin to sneak past his grumpy defenses. He sat on the sand the entire time, but Aelin could feel him sending more wind towards her when nature slowed it down.
She couldnât tell how she was able to discern which particles of the wind were his and which werenât, but some primal part of her didâa concern meant for the four walls of her room, not the beach.
Sheâd never felt as carefreeâit felt as if her entire existence narrowed down to this, and she was made to feel to the bone the magnificent synchronicity between the wind and her fire.
Aelin opened her arms wider and ran where Rowan was, laughing at his antics when he played with the wind against her.
Rowan. He watched her every moveâtoday, alwaysâand she knew it was all because of him. Aelin wouldnât go so far as to claim that her new newfound skills and confidence with her flames were his accomplishment more than her own, but it was impossible to deny that she wouldnât be like this right now if it wasnât for him. Her training wasnât even complete, but she felt so grateful already.
Aelin laid on the floor beside his seated figure, but she couldnât bring herself to put her fire downâit stayed low atop her body, like a small, living bonfire.
Rowan put one hand through the flame, unafraid and without touching her body, the way one did with steam before a hot bath.
âPeople usually make camp fires at night,â he teased, ânot when the sunâs still high.â
âItâs so windy.â She smiled, her eyes closed. âI like how it tingles the flame.â
Rowan immediately sent more her way. She gave him a close-lipped, grateful smile.
Then he threw the smallest, most obnoxious block of ice at her. It turned to steam before it grazed her skin.
âYou brute!â
He did it again.
Aelin frowned and grew the flames higher.
He chuckled. âI wonât bite.â
âI find it hard to believe you.â
Rowanâs expression slacked, the awareness of their exchangeâs underlying meaning all over his face. He swallowed. He gave his eyes one second to wander over her before he turned to face the sea.
âWe were supposed to be in the middle of combat training by now.â He gave her a pointed look. âYou havenât even crafted a passable sword yet.â
âGods, sâfine.â Aelin lifted her forearm and waved a fire sword.
âA minimally passable sword is much sharperâ.
âIsnât it enough that the sword will be burning things? You also want it sharp enough to cut the fabric between the realms?â
âI actually wanted it to look like a sword more than a pole, but I wouldnât object it if you made it happen.â
Aelin groaned and put her fire sword down. Despite his own insistence that they get some work done, Rowan laid down beside her, on the sand. They silently enjoyed each otherâs companies, keeping that same dynamic where their magics gently played with each other like rippling sea water blending into the sand.
As a princess of a ruthlessly cold kingdom, if Aelin had known beaches could be this fun, she wouldâve come here as soon as she landed in Wendlynâit was either Rowanâs doing, or beaches in Suria were extraordinarily lame. Perhaps both.
He didnât bring her here for fun, but to make her ready for adverse circumstances. Beaches were made of sand, water and wind, and all three of them could change Aelinâs fire, so she was supposed to be getting acquainted with those changes and reshaping her powers to accommodate them without losing efficiency in battle. A very important exercise, one sheâd completely focus on was she not having the time of her life today.
It seemed like he was willing to forgive her for it, by the way his calls to continue the lesson progressively decreased once Aelin tugged her tunic off her pants and started to run with the wind.
Every time he ignited her flames further, Rowanâs scent came with the breeze, as if it didnât unsettle her by default. At first, she thought that it was part of a cheap ploy to win her, wearing a cologne that smelled like pine and snow, two of Terrasenâs symbols. But then the scent lingered after he got wet or sweaty, and her theory fell apart because no cologne could withstand their training sessions.
Rowan naturally smelling like her home was a disfavor to her attempt to ignore that tug in her chest when he was near.
When Aelin rolled to her side, he was already watching her.
She watched him back, unabashed.
She watched how the sunlight made his gray eyelashes look holy, and how it blessed his skin in the form of a tan. How beautiful that skin tone looked along with the pink of his pillowy lips.
âDo you ever feel as if our magics are kindred?â
Rowan reached for Aelinâs aflame hand and stroked its back with his thumb.
âAll of the time,â he said in a tone that was too quiet, almost muffled by the waves on the shore.
She traced her thumb along his palm. âI do too.â
âWe could try.â He closed his hand, keeping her thumb trapped inside it. âWeâd cross out one out of two.â
Mates or carranam, is what he didnât say.
He never freed her from his palm. The one place most Fae used to test a carranam bond. She wasnât ready to do it yet, bare her mind to him, stay at her most vulnerable, then face the consequences of having two bonded royals from kingdoms that antagonize each other.
But when it was just the two of them in a little breakable heaven, she almost followed the commands from her aching heart to just do it and get it over with.
âIââ
Rowan let go of her hand after the silence that led to a stammer.
âYou donât trust me,â he said. Not a question nor an accusation, though it pained her to see the crestfallen look in his eyes.
âThereâs different ways to trust someone.â
âYou donât have to explain yourself to me.â
Aelin lifted her hand to his cheek, her thumb moving in idle circles against it. âI trust you, but some things are bigger than that,â she whispered.
Rowan didnât look convinced, but didnât want to argue or demand anything from her. She scrambled her mind for other ways to get her point across, but all it did was pause on the very method she hopelessly tried to avoid.
She kept her stare locked on his as she let go of his face and slowly, making sure he understood every step of the way, tilted her head back until her throat was arched and bared before him.
âAelin,â he breathed. Not in reprimand or warning, but⊠a plea. It sounded like a plea.
Ever so tentative, Rowan slowly wrapped a hand around her neck, letting his thumb trace the length. She briefly closed her eyes and arched it further, a silent invitation.
He lowered his head to her exposed neck and hovered a hairâs breadth away.
Rowan let out a soft groan and grazed his teeth against her skin.
One bite, one movement, was all it would take for him to rip out her throat. His elongated canines slid along her fleshâgently, precisely. In order to keep from running her fingers down his back and drawing him closer, Aelin clenched the sand like sheâd do to her bedsheets, but all it did was slip through her fingers and leave her with nothing to hold on to.
âNo one else,â she whispered. âI would never allow anyone else at my throat.â Showing him was the only way heâd understand that trust, in a manner that only the predatory, Fae side of him would comprehend. âNo one else,â she said again.
He let out another low groan, answer and confirmation and request, and the rumble echoed inside her. He reverently trailed pecks from the spot below her ear to her collarbone, and Aelinâs whole body was aware of it, from her agitated core to the goosebumps breaking through her skin.
Rowan closed his teeth over the spot where her lifeblood thrummed and pounded, his breath hot on her skin.
She shut her eyes, every sense narrowing on that sensation, on the teeth and mouth at her throat, on the powerful body trembling with restraint above hers. His tongue flicked against her skin.
She made a small noise that might have been a moan, or a word, or his name. He shuddered and pulled back, the cool air kissing her neck. Wildnessâpure wildness sparked in those eyes.
Then he thoroughly, brazenly surveyed her body, his nostrils flaring delicately as he scented exactly what she wanted.
Aelin threaded her fingers through his hair and pulled his lips to hersâonce she did it, Rowan didnât hold back. Every flick of his tongue was demanding, the fingers on her waist near crushing, as if sheâd escape his grasp any minute.
This⊠Aelin couldnât say she never saw it coming. Sheâd been attracted to Rowan ever since she first laid eyes on him, even though attraction on itself doesnât dictate her actions, and the situation they were in complicated things.
However, in that moment, there were no kingdoms or ghosts to haunt her.
There was no avoiding Rowan or the way his nearness messed with her mind and body, so Aelinâs new vow to herself was that whatever happened now stayed between them, the sand and the sea.
His touch boldened, reaching up to her side boob and breastband as he ravaged her neck. One lewd whimper, and Rowan used his wind to block any noise from leaving their little bubbleâevery sound she made for him was his alone.
Aelin tucked his tunic off his pants and sneaked her hands inside it. His heated skin was barely noticeable compared to when Aelin felt muscles she hadnât known existed.
His abs felt so hard under such soft skin, it reminded Aelin of the most delicious chocolate bar, with smooth lines dividing neat ridgesâ
Stop it, a voice that sounded akin to her conscience interrupted her thoughts.
She shook the comparison aside and guided his mouth back to hers. Fae malesâonce Aelin allowed him on her neck, he hang onto it like his favorite toy.
Aelin lifted her hips, and the way his own ground back against where she was sensitive the most tore a moan out of her, even with her clothes on.
âAre you sure?â Rowan rasped quite gentlemanly, given the state they were currently in.
In response, Aelin burned his linen tunic into ash.
And then loved herâmaybe not with his heart, but with his teeth, tongue and other body parts that fit even more perfectly, which felt just as nice for now.
In fact, it felt so good even the gods might envy her choice of lover.

Hello Shay ! Iâve been loving the civilian!reader fics, and I had an idea for a fic like that, but with a twist đ«Ł reader is buckyâs sweet civilian gf, literal definition of sunshine, basically a lover, not a fighter. Sheâs a ballet teacher at a local studio (hint hint wink wink). And she lives with him and the team at the tower. One night, while the team is out on a mission, Hydra ambushes the tower and tries to take the reader hostage. And when they learn about it, they rush back home in order to save her. Meanwhile, Bucky and Tony check the footage just to see his precious sweet girl absolutely kicking ass. And I mean hardcore, like she even does the entire widow thigh-neck move. And everyone is like??? And Buckyâs just absolutely fucking HORNY bc âhell Iâve been in between those thighs so many times, youâre telling me I couldâve DIED???â
okay YESSSSS we live for a badass gf who appears to be nothing but sweet sunshine and killer on the inside. Fluffy fluffy and smutty smutty
-
"Be back soon, darling" Bucky cooed, kissing you again and again while everyone boarded the jet, getting in a few more pecks before having to leave on a mission.
"C'mon lover boy, the faster we get going, the faster you get back to your sweetheart!" Tony yelled, shaking his head watching Bucky look a you with puppy eyes, not wanting to leave his sunshine behind. "He's so down bad, I swear"
"Can you blame him, she's so cute" Sam smiled, watching the two of you cling onto each other for a few extra seconds, your form hidden, engulphed in Bucky's thick arms. "Look, you can't even see her when tin man hugs her"
"I'll miss you baby" you kissed Bucky's pouty lips, caressing his scruffy cheek before letting him run off, your cheeks heating up when he blew you another kiss before the doors closed.
"You're a little sap" Nat teased while Bucky blushed, strapping on his gear as the engine roared to life, rumbling as they took off. Bucky had 0 shame in everyone knowing how much he loved you and it started from the day he met you. He got called out immediately, questioned over the dopey smile he had on his face, the blush on his cheeks instantly giving him away.
Soon after you'd started dating, Bucky wanted you closer to him and he didn't have to ask Tony twice; his room was moved to a floor above so you'd have more space to live together. The last thing Bucky wanted was for you to get hurt because of his job. He felt more relaxed knowing you were in he safety of the compound on days where he was away.
"Who would've thought Bucky would be the romantic type"
"I did" Steve groaned, having seen Bucky's flirty side for years but he knew this was different. He hadn't seen his bestfriend like this before, clearly in utterly and desperately in love with you.
"It's adorable" Sam laughed while Bucky continued to smile, scrolling through his phone looking at pictures of you. His camera rolled was filled with various images of you baking, cuddling, sleeping, doing the most mundane things in the world, each making his heart flutter. He felt a pang in his chest, momentarily worried about if you were safe without him, the same anxiety he always felt whenever he had to leave you.
-
You stretched across the sofa, sipping on some hot chocolate and putting on your favorite comfort movie, deciding to have a relaxing night to yourself since the compound was empty. You didn't like when Bucky had to leave but you knew it was part of his job, slipping the fuzzy throw blanket over you shoulders before hitting play.
It had hardly been a few minutes before the screen went black making you blink, wondering if you'd sat on the remote by accident. Suddenly the rest of the lights turned off, a blasting sound coming from the entrance before you heard rushed footsteps nearing you.
Your heart started to race, having no time to hide or think, coming face to face with a number of masked men all towering over you. One grabbed you, pulling out a camera and hitting record, shoving it close to your face with a sinister smile.
"Look who we have, soldat"
-
The jet hadn't been flying for long, a sudden beeping alarm from the security system alerting Tony to check the cameras. His eyes grew wide, seeing the Hydra logo take over the screen before switching the live footage from the hacked system.
"Guys! There's been an attack on the compound!" Tony shouted from the computer, everyone rushing to see what came on screen, billows of smoke emitting from the main wing. Suddenly the screen went black, replaced with a man swearing a black mask, walking around the common room.
"Welcome Mr. Stark" His voice was thick with a Russian accent, the video panning to show the other agents infiltrating the tower. "Where is our soldat"
"You stay the fuck away from my girl" Bucky growled, his heart hammering in his chest, nearly crying when he saw someone grab you and shove you into a chair.
"She's precious to you, isn't she. We'll see you soon" he laughed, before the stream cut off leaving Bucky wanting to scream in frustrating, anxiety clouding all his thoughts, just wanting to get back to you to protect you.
"We have to go help her!" Bucky paced up and down while Tony rerouted the jet, speeding back to save you. "How the fuck do I know what's going on, there has to be something" He pleaded, hating that he no longer had eyes on you.
"Hold on, let me get into the back up feed" Tony tapped away at different keys, getting into the security system, selecting the camera for the common room where you were being held. "Here, I got it! I-Holy shit..."
The sound of screaming screeched through the speaker but it wasn't coming from you.
No.
"B-Barnes, you're girl just killed someone with her thighs" Tony stared at the footage with wide eyes while Bucky and the others watching in awe as your legs wrapped around one of the agents' heads, snapping his neck before flipping over and attacking another one of your assailants.
Bucky nearly choked, watching the men drop to the floor like flies, your arms and legs holding onto the men with a vice like grip until they fell, hardly breaking a sweat each time.
"Do you understand how many time's I've been in between those thighs, you're telling me she could've killed me?!!" Bucky practically moaned, seeing you fight, all his anxiety melting into lust, his cock straining against the thick material of his tac suit.
"Jesus Bucky, you're gonna poke an eye out" Sam's face scrunched up while Bucky adjusted himself, biting his lip to keep from making a sound, his tip leaking, breathing out a sigh of relief seeing you perfectly safe.
"Can't help me, look at her. Better count me out for movie night, m'gonna spent the whole night fuckin'-
"Okay, got it, you're a ridiculous, horny, pervert, and y/n probably won't walk for a week, will you please put that away" Sam shook his head, walking away when he tent in Bucky's pants got worse.
"I'm sorry, we've been housing a Hydra killer all this time?" Tony shook his head as the jet landed, still in disbelief over what everyone had just seen, both impressed and 100% scared of what else you were capable of. "You sure know how to pick em' Barnes"
As soon as the jet hit the floor, Bucky was sprinting off into he compound, running to find you, relief flooding his veins when he saw you sipping on your tea, seated on the couch again. You jumped up from your spot, jumping into your boyfriends arms, clinging onto him while the others also entered, glad to see you were okay. They got to work, clearing up the room, rounding up the few agents that were knocked out for questioning while also giving you and Bucky some privacy.
"Babygirl" Bucky hugged you tightly in his arms, burying his face into your neck, inhaling your soft scent, hoisting you up so your legs were wrapped around his waist. "Are you okay doll, are you hurt?"
"I'm fine Bucky" you reassured him, pecking his soft lips, letting him check you over before feeling satisfied you were okay, not finding a scratch on your body.
"Everything okay Buck?" you cocked your head noticing your boyfriends shift in demeanor, his soft baby blue eyes darkening into something else, biting his lip.
"Baby, I had to hold back from pulling my cock out on the jet and touching myself, you know how much that hurt? How hard I was the entire time, struggling not to jet my dick off watching how sexy you looked" He walked you up to your shared bedroom, his erection shamelessly pushing against your clothed core, not bothering to hide it one bit. "Where have you been hiding all that princess"
"Not hiding Bucky, just-never needed to do that" You shrugged shyly, squeezing your thigs around his waist playfully, making him groan as he dropped you on the bed.
"Can't wait to keep my face between these pretty legs that could kill me" He groaned, slicing your clothes off with his pocket knife before diving in without a care in the world, eating you like a man starved, tapping your thighs to wrap around his head.
"C'mon doll, squeeze em'" he moaned, humping against the bed feeling your muscles flex, his eyes rolling back, nearly cumming against the mattress at the strength he could feel, knowing you were holding back from hurting him.
you could kill him if you want.
Fuck, he was going to cum so fast.
-
"Oh god! Bucky!! PLease! D-DOn't STOP"
"That's it gorgeous, so good to me, so fuckin' pretty. won't last baby, gonna cum for you!"
"They're going at it like rabbits, didn't you sound proof their room after the first incident?"
"I did. This is after the sound proofing"
"Gonna fuck your thighs next baby, you got my cock so hard, almost creamed my pants like a teenager watching, you, oh shit-shit-m'so sensitive, keep clenching around my dick, that's it-fuckkk"
"Jesus christ, it's been an hour"
"Did you forget he has the super soldier serum? They're not gonna stop any time soon"
"I'M CUMMING JAMES"
"Gonna fucking cum for you y/n, OH FUCK YESSS you're so sexy when you fight baby, m'gonna fuckin' cum again, I can't stop"
"He's really gonna go all night, isn't he"
"Can you blame him?"

previous part / final part / series masterlist
âguys weâve lost it.â nobara pushed up her mattress, phone pressed between her ear and her shoulder as she peered beneath the wooden slats. all there was was her suitcase and a bag from an expensive shop sheâd convinced gojo to buy for her. âitâs gone. poof. here once and now itâs not.â the âitâ in question being the dvd theyâd treasured for the last few weeks (well, yuuji and nobara anyways).
after gojo had taken the dvd â unbeknownst to the first years â nobara had ended up sleeping for the next fourty eight hours, and then afterwards spending several days catching up on the classwork sheâd missed. she hadnât had the time or energy to force her classmates into another movie night so now here they were, almost a week since it was last touched, finally realising its disappearance.
âdo you want me and megumi to come help?â yuuji asked tentatively as he heard her curse as she dropped the mattress back down. nobara sighed, glancing around at the chaos sheâd created. her room was a mess â drawers half open and half her clothes and books on the floor in case the dvd had slipped into a pile by accident.Â
âitâs not in my room,â she said adamantly, pushing her hair back from her face in frustration as she struggled to piece together the final moments she had with the dvd. she could remember sending megumi away, beginning her little day of research and even some of the videos she watched (the arcade and the christmas reunion), but then she fell asleep and everything was hazy from there.
âwhen was the last time you had it?â megumi asked and nobara felt her eye twitch like she hadn't retraced her steps a million times already.
âthe first day i was off sick. i was watching a fewââ
âwithout us?â the pink haired sorcerer cut in with a gasp.
âwhat else was there to do?â nobara argued back with no bite but he quietened down nonetheless.Â
a moment of silence settled between the three as each tried to figure out where it could have been misplaced or who couldâve accidentally picked it up. if nobara had dropped it somewhere outside of her dorm, could one of the older years taken it?
nobara was brought out of deep thought by yuuji flippantly asking: âdid you watch any after sensei came to see you?â she froze at the implication of his words. at no point could she recall their teacher ever coming in to check on her â it had always been either yuuji, megumi or maki.Â
âwhat?âÂ
several hours later, the three first years found themselves huddled on the benches, nobara in the middle and the boys either side of her. in front of them were the second years and gojo â the latter having said something to annoy maki as yuuta held her back from making a swing at their laughing teacher. the second year teacher was off ill today so the larger class meant that the three had a distraction as they tried to figure out what their next step was â if they even had one at this point.
the assumed facts were as such: the first years were no longer in possession of the dvd, and gojo had it. though there was little doubt that this was true, it didnât stop them questioning the possibility â after all, megumi had pointed out, thereâd been no alter in his behaviour whatsoever since the minute heâd checked on nobara. surely, even the strongest would be noticeably affected by a disk that immortalised a happiness and innocence heâd never be able to return to.
but then again, maybe this was just another thing that separated gojo from the rest of society. being the strongest came before all else, he didnât have the time to mourn resurfaced memories.
âmaybe he just doesnât have it,â yuuji suggested.
âhe has to,â nobara reaffirmed. at this point theyâd exhausted all other options about where it could possibly be and surely they would have heard if one of the older years found what they had. âwould he tell you if he had it?â she asked megumi.
âno,â megumi said quickly, shaking his head and leaning back on the bench as he looked over at gojo, âwe⊠he wouldnât talk to me about that. about them.â
âcould we steal it back?â yuuji offered and nobara debated duct taping his mouth closed.
megumi scoffed, shaking his head, âhe has six eyes. even if we tried, heâd know for sure it was us.â
âhe already knows it was us,â nobara countered, not that she agreed with yuujiâs solution by any means. âwhich is why i donât get why he hasnât said anythââ
âoi, you three!â the first years jumped apart from their circle, hearts pounding as gojo appeared before them with a smirk toying at the corner of his lips and his hands clasped behind his back. âwhoever beats maki in hand to hand combat gets the day off tomorrow!â
âyuuji if you win, iâm taking your day off,â nobara called out as she trailed behind the aforementioned boy running to the centre of the field.Â
âokay!â
unsurprisingly, all three first years lost against the second year. megumi came closest to winning but when he tried to use his cursed technique, gojo countered it, catching him off guard and giving maki the opportunity to sweep him off his feet with her staff.
gojo found himself still laughing over megumiâs shocked expression as he fell flat on his back as he stepped past the threshold of his office. even after all heâd taught the boy in combat, with no cursed technique it was hard to overcome the zenin girlâs strength and skill sheâd mastered to take on her own clan.
he let out a small sigh as the door locked shut and, for the first time that day, he was alone with his own thoughts.
dropping down into his office chair, gojo crossed one leg over the other as he pulled open a drawer. on the top of a pile of unread paperwork for the higher ups was the dvd the first years were so fixated on.Â
he wasnât stupid; he knew eventually they would figure out he had it and, unlike himself, theyâd been way less subtle once theyâd put two and two together. yuujiâs speech had tripled in speed, nobara was way too keen on being anywhere but where he was and megumi⊠gojo couldnât forget the guilt and hurt in the teenage boyâs eyes after telling him you were gone. it was here again, had been for several weeks, and it was only after stumbling upon the disk in nobaraâs room that heâd understood why.
gojo gritted his teeth together as he held the disk up between shaky fingers. it was pathetic, he scolded himself, it was just a bit of plastic with memories lasered into divots in a never ending spiral. it wasnât worth the heartache.
if he looked closely enough, he could see shokoâs name written on the centrepiece in faded black sharpie. after gojo had stumbled upon the old camera several years after graduating from jujutsu high, shoko had taken back the camera to transfer all of the old clips onto dvds and given him, herself, nanami and you your own copies. he couldnât even remember where his and yours were anymore, in fact heâd pretty much forgotten about their existence until a week ago.
he wasnât sure where shoko had lost the dvd for the first years to get their hands on it but he hadnât worked up the courage to speak to her about it. he hadnât worked up the courage to do anything more than just spin the disk between his fingers, cry about it for a bit, and go back to pretending he didnât have the last remnants of his youth in his drawer.
gojo glanced between the disk and the laptop on his desk. it was the last step he needed to take to hear your voice again. it had been on repeat for the last week in his mind; you uttering his name and that innocent question, would you last beyond your teenage years?
he missed it, missed you so bad.
raising megumi was a lot harder without you there; you were his favourite after all, bridging the gap between the two when they bumped heads with their contrasting personalities. gojo was all rainbows and giggles and megumi was everything but. you were a happy medium, creating a balance that maintained order in the home you shared. it was a peace that megumi deserved after losing his parents.
gojo clicked his tongue, reaching across to press a button that opened up a space for the disk. slotting it in place, he clicked the device shut and held his breath as he waited. it took several seconds for the files to load and then there he was again, back in those fields under the large weeping willow that was your spot.
the video was paused, exactly where it had been left, except this time gojo could actually see the screen.
your face wasnât in it, just his. his glasses were off â balanced on your head if he remembered correctly â as he used your lap as a pillow. one of your hands was holding the camera while the other was held over his eyes to block any sort of light. the only thing he could make out was your cursed energy.
you were nearing the end of your first year and whilst gojo was growing more powerful, he was also growing more and more reliant on his glasses to stop himself from becoming so overwhelmed with the constant information he received with his six eyes. heâd overworked himself that day, as he so often did, hence why youâd dragged him away from the school to the seclusion of the tree.Â
your questions about the longevity of your relationship werenât meant to hold deep meaning, you just wanted to take his mind off of the headaches. gojo would choose thinking about you over the searing pain in the back of his head any day. yaga said that once he had a better understanding of his reversed curse technique it wouldnât be so bad but until then it was just about riding it out.
gojo snorted at the notion. his reversed curse technique only marginally helped. you were what got him through the days when heâd lock himself in his bedroom with blackout blinds pulled down, hiding under his covers till he felt like he could function in society again.
he didnât unpause the video, however, instead clicking onto the main tab with all of the files stored.Â
lifting up his blindfold and dropping it down onto the desk, gojo took a deep breath before he began scrolling. unlike when the first years were simply searching for the ones with their favourite thumbnail, gojo was specifically searching for the ones he knew focused on you.
he needed to hear your voice again, to play it on repeat until it became so ingrained into his skin he could feel your touch.
gojo halted the cursor over the familiar date of your birthday, clicking on it without a second thought as the video filled the screen. it buffered for a moment, giving him a view of the dorm heâd practically spent three years in (despite yagaâs constant complaints and reminders that dorms were segregated on gender).
in the corner of your room was a stack of plushies that heâd won for you at arcades, and your walls were covered in photobooth photos and polaroids of your group of friends. his personal favourite was the polaroid you had pinned just above your desk. it was the two of you on new years eve sharing your first kiss of the year, sparklers in hand and the faint pink of a firework in the background. on the bottom of the polaroid was haibaraâs handwriting as heâd scribbled on the date and a small smiley face.
âhappy birthday to you, happy birthday to you!â seventeen year old gojo sung in the video, swaying the camera side to side above a pile of duvet and pillows. you were somewhere in the middle, half asleep and trying to push yourself deeper into the comfort of your bed and further from whatever the screeching was in your room.
youâd never been a morning person whereas he, on the other hand, had a reserve of energy that never depleted. it was what made getting up at the crack of dawn on your birthday so much more entertaining for him. even as an adult, when the two of you lived together in the comfort of your own apartment, he would either force you to stay up until midnight or gently nudge you awake at 4am to tell you he loved you.
âsatoru,â you whispered groggily when you gave up trying to ignore his awful singing, lifting your head up just enough to meet his eyes. he would have done anything to see you physically before him instead of watching you through the lens of a camera. to be looked at with love as you did and not a mix of fear and respect. âif yaga catches youââ
âiâm just singing happy birthday to my girl,â his younger self dismissed, plopping down onto the bed next to you. he preferred your bed over his, a softer mattress he used to argue when shoko would complain about him showing up at your shared dorm several nights in a row. that particular birthday, he was pretty sure sheâd been sent on a training mission over in kyoto. gojoâs hand came into frame as he ran a gentle hand through your hair, giving it a little pat when you quietly hummed at the contact. âhe canât hate on me for that.â
âyes he can,â you retorted, rolling your eyes with a tired smile. gojo felt his chest tighten â two years without waking up by that very same smile after almost a decade of having it everyday.
âiâll blame shoko,â gojo shrugged with a grin, kicking his legs up onto your bed, despite your small protest that he was taking up all of your space. like you werenât just as clingy as he was.
you huffed out a quiet laugh, your elbow digging into your pillow as you rested your head in your hand to stare incredulously at your boyfriend. âshoko forced the strongest sorcerer of the modern day to enter the girlsâ dorms? uh huh.â
âwoah woah, iâm the strongest of all time baby, i donât do second best,â he corrected, leaning down to give you a peck on the forehead. you scrunched your nose up at the contact, but even through the viewpoint of the camera, he can see how your eyes dropped down to his lips.
âi know you donât,â you smiled and gojo dropped the camera down as he moved to give you your first real kiss of seventeen. present day gojo sucked in a breath, willing for himself to get through at least one several minute video of you until he started crying.
the kiss ended all too quickly as gojo shoved the camera back into your face, the flash causing you to squint and squeeze your eyes closed. ânow smile and say cheese, youâre seventeen!â
âwoo!â you cheered half heartedly, giving in to his infectious excitement. blowing the camera a tired kiss, you shuffled yourself back deep beneath your duvet. ânow can i go back to sleep?â
âas long as i can stay.â
âfine,â you dragged out, though you both knew you wanted him to just as much. yaga be damned. the video ended several seconds later and an odd silence filled his office.Â
heâd only ever watched several of these videos once or twice â back when he still had you to curl up into his side and reminisce with him and laugh at nanamiâs old haircut. if he was being honest, he didnât even remember heâd recorded that (though he was glad he did).
gojo was more confident this time when he scrolled, his hands no longer shaking as much as they had been as he smiled at the life he once had. a life with you and geto.
this time he stopped at a thumbnail with the three of you; gojo holding up the camera high as the three of you posed like it was a photo. it was at one of only a handful clan events you had attended together, with both you and geto as gojoâs plus ones. he and geto were in matching suits and you were in a floor length dress that heâd spent way too much money on (but you looked so pretty when you tried it on he couldnât not get it for you).
âhi this is mtv,â you clapped your hands together, âand welcome to my crib.â his younger self waved his hands around in the background (geto was recording), showing off the spiralling architecture that cost more money than fathomable.Â
gojo quietly laughed in his office. the politics of clans and these events were the last reason heâd ever chosen to attend them. seeing you all dressed up and running around buildings with a million rooms were right at the top. his favourite had to be when both the first years, shoko and utahime had also been in attendance, but after haibaraâs death, hanging around with the clans that upheld the institution that killed their friend seemed distasteful.
âthis is my in house art museum collection.â you led geto along one of the vast corridors, pointing into a room with dozens of framed canvases of art from all across the globe. âthis is where i come in for inspiration and to truly just feel art you know?â
âi wasnât aware you had skills beyond stickmen,â geto interjected and you raised both your middle fingers at him.
âart is subjective, diââ
âwoah, i have standards to uphold here,â gojo cupped a hand over your mouth, stopping any expletive leaving you. you hummed in annoyance and the white haired sorcerer grinned, nodding his head over to a partially opened door. âwe donât need to argue when we have a whole cinema room to ourselves.â gojo remembered the stain of red lipstick youâd left on his hand when he let you go (youâd refused to kiss him all evening because of your makeup).
the cinema room was massive: rows and rows of sleek leather seats that looked out of place when compared to the aesthetic of the building. this was someoneâs home, though it looked like anything but.
âthis is my cinema room,â geto held onto the back of one of the chairs as he loosened his tie. he lowered his voice as he leant closer to the camera gojo was now holding. âwe used to have two but daddy converted the smaller one into a sauna so now we only have this one,â he said with an upturned nose, and you could be heard giggling in the background at his faux disgust.
you nor geto were from the same wealthy background as gojo was and loved to poke fun at his high status background.
âoi!â an official that was supposed to be watching for any curses or curse users that tried to sneak into the event pointed a light into the cinema room. âyou kids shouldnât be back here!â
gojo laughed, throwing the camera to geto as he grabbed your hand and led you quickly down the stairs to another exit at the bottom of the stairs. geto turned off the recording once heâd grabbed a hold of the device in favour of focusing on not being caught. it wasnât like there would be any real consequence â they were with gojo satoru after all.
the white hair sorcerer smiled as he thought back to the rest of the night. obviously, youâd all managed to get away â though he had suffered your wrath at the fact your legs werenât as long as theirâs were and you were running in heels. two strikes, but heâd made it up to you by taking you out for ice cream instead of going back to hear the speeches.
it wasnât an exaggeration to say gojo would have done anything for you then.Â
gojo swallowed a lump in his throat as your last interaction came to mind. you were arguing, as you had been in the weeks up until megumiâs birthday as he inched closer and closer to being old enough to enrol in jujutsu high.
the only wish heâd ever refused to fulfil: keeping megumi away from jujutsu.
âheâs our responsibility.â you were yelling at him, desperate for him to understand your point of view and he was walking away. dodging your anger by going wherever his legs took him â anywhere but where you were. âwe need to protect him. we canât protect him if he becomes a sorcerer too.âÂ
âi can,â he insisted, halting in his place to turn and look down at you. his cursed technique was activated, though there was no need for it to be, and all it did was frustrate you further.
âi nearly died today!â you countered, pointing to your neck with a faint scar. shokoâs reversed cursed technique was almost perfect, but not even that could fully erase the deep lacerations that had almost taken your life. âwhere were you? you canât be everywhere and help everyone at the same time. itâs just not possible.â
âi can try.â his jaw was tight as he responded through gritted teeth.
âand if thatâs not enough?â you didnât need to see his eyes to know his were locked directly onto yours, daring you to continue. he wouldnât hurt you, would never dream of it, angry or not, but how could you of all people doubt him? âwhat then gojo satoru?â you uttered his full name like it was an insult, âyou may be the strongest but heâs not. iâm not. weâre mortals compared to you.â
âyouâre my family,â his voice broke.
âyu and suguru were family once too.â
gojo clenched his fists at the memory, at the reminder he walked out after that. you were trying to get him to see your concerns, and heâd taken that as you blaming him for the outcome of your close friends. that was the last time he ever saw you; tears welling up in the corner of your eyes at his insensitivity, at his inability to admit that maybe, just maybe, he too was just a mortal.Â
everything you said was logical and made sense â he had almost lost you that day, having not initially received the message that you had needed backup as he was preoccupied with his own mission. by the time he had arrived, the curse had its claws dug deep into your skin and it had taken everything in him not to use hollow purple and bring the entire infrastructure down in seconds.
despite all heâd done to save you that day, heâd still lost you. heâd only delayed the seemingly inevitable by mere hours.
megumi sat up in bed at the sound of two knocks on the door. he highly doubted it would be yuuji since the pink haired sorcerer had only left several minutes prior, saying something about needing to meet panda.Â
to his surprise, gojo stood before him, hands in the pockets of his pants as he half smiled at the younger boy.Â
âis itadori here?â megumi hesitated before shaking his head. âgood,â gojo held up the missing dvd, âwe need to talk.â

When the annual summer class trip means a visit to Busan and staying at Leehanâs familyâs hotel, you know that it will be total chaos, you just donât expect it to be this chaotic. Alas, you also end up falling for your arch nemesis, the most popular boy of the year - Leehan himself.
You werenât supposed to stay at the hotel of Leehanâs family. You were supposed to go somewhere else, some place that had nothing to do with him, but the arranged accommodation went back on your request when they decided to take on organising a business event for an international company. Not that you could blame them; they were probably better off serving cocktail after cocktail to rich business people than babysit students who were not allowed to drink alcohol and bring in any either.
Like the show-off he was, Leehan rang his parents the moment your homeroom teacher announced that she would need to look for another accommodation, and asked for your help - you as class president and Leehan as vice-president. The boy was done within a few minutes, and your homeroom teacher looked like she was on the verge of crying when he confirmed that his familyâs hotel had enough rooms for their class. She had already been stressed over organising this whole trip to Busan on her own while trying to accommodate all the parentsâ requests, she probably already thought that she had to cancel the whole trip because of this.
The only reason you held yourself back from snorting was because of Miss Lee, otherwise, you would have made a comment on how Leehan always ended up playing the hero, and how he knew âsomeoneâ wherever he went. Sure, everyone was famous and rich in one way or another at KOZ International High School as it was a private boarding school, the number 1 for university admission rate success in Asia and number 5 worldwide, but he just seemed to be everywhere.
Plus, since you were the class president and he was the vice-president, you just had to put up with it all the time. Even if it meant having to shoo away shrieking girls when they caught sight of him in the library as you two were picking up books for the next class or rolling your eyes when you collected mobile phones at the beginning of the day and yet another girl made a joke about how Leehan could keep their phone if it meant that they could have his heart.
You already knew that this class trip would be about him when Busan came out as the most voted destination in this yearâs poll, the first Korean city after the last two years - it was Hanoi the summer after freshman year and Shanghai the summer after sophomore year. You just didnât expect that it would be about him to this extent.
âWere your rooms really not sold out for that week during summer?â You quirked an eyebrow as you exited the teachersâ room, shooting the boy a glance. He didnât seem to be offended by the implication behind your words, he merely said:
âThe hotel has a separate building for events where mostly weddings take place and wedding guests can sleep, and it was coincidentally not booked yet. Wedding season starts a bit later into summer.â
âOf course,â you mumbled under your nose, not like you knew anything about the hospitality industry. Your parents owned a private clinic, the furthest thing from his familyâs line of work.
âIâd say it was supposed to happen this way,â he shrugged his shoulders casually, the tie around his neck a bit looser than usual, and you had this inexplicably annoying urge to reach out and fix it for him. You wanted to save your dignity though, you could already imagine the teasing remarks you would get if you willingly did something like this for him, so no thanks, you would rather jump off a cliff.
âAre you that happy to go to Busan?â
âI mean, thereâs the seaside, thereâs my parentsâ hotel, whatâs there not to love?â
Everything, you wanted to say, but when you turned a corner, the hustle-bustle of the corridor filled with the studentsâ chatting blocked out all of the snarky thoughts in your head, and instead, you saved yourself from another 15 minutes of having to witness the boyâs popularity to yourself, and told him that you would go ahead and set up the Physics lab for next class, he could do it next week.
He didnât protest, he merely gave you a bob of his head and a lazy half-smirk, something that made girls go crazy over him, except you.
The hotel was enormous, to say the least, and you werenât even in the main area. You really had a separate building to yourself that had a dining room, a dance room and a karaoke room on the ground floor. You had the feeling that they turned a bar into the latter because there were shelves that seemed similar to shelves that held fancy bottles of alcohol, but nothing seemed out of place. You even had an outside pool and a direct view of the seaside, something that made everyone impressed.
âDude, why didnât you tell us about this place in the previous years? We should have come here every summer before,â Yechan exclaimed as he took out his phone and started recording, probably filming a new video for his Youtube channel. It seemed that every mundane person was either too curious or too bored to get a glimpse into a boarding school studentâs daily life because his channel had already accumulated 2 million followers, and he had only started last year. Though it definitely helped that he was half Canadian, half Korean, so he could speak both English and Korean and provide subtitles for both languages.
âI thought you said you wanted us to go to your parentsâ hotel next time,â Jungwon chirped in, but the Canadian boy shook his head.
âNah, Toronto is too cold for summer trips.â
âCan we use the pool too, Miss Lee?â Millie inquired after the two boys settled on dismissing Canada as a possible destination for next yearâs class trip. Thank God next yearâs trip will be the last one, you didnât know how you would survive these events any longer. Plus, all the money that you spent on this summer trip should have been donated to charity in your opinion, but alas, it was mandatory.
âOf course, but only until 10 PM, and obviously, be responsible. Some of you canât swim, so no pushing, alright?â
âWho canât swim?â You heard Gyuvin ask with his jaw comically dropping, but his question was muffled by the cacophony of suitcase spinner wheels, dropped bags and the usual lively chit-chat of soon-to-be senior year students.
âHow do you like it?â Leehan asked, leaning closer to you, so you could hear him, but you gave him a death glare for doing so, and stepped backwards. Too bad that a lamp pole was also there, and you almost bumped your head into it if it hadnât been for Leehanâs hand taking the hit.
For a moment, you just blinked up at him and his stupid height, too embarrassed for your own good. You were the class president, for Godâs sake, you were the person of order and responsibility, you couldn't randomly bump into lamp posts!
You could see from the corner of your eyes that Taesan - Leehanâs friend - thought better of waiting for him, and awkwardly turned around to walk towards the hotel, but you didnât dare look for his full reaction. You were sure that your face was flushed as it was, you didnât need anyone elseâs reaction on top of Leehanâs.
âAre you okay?â The boy asked uncharacteristically gently, his voice void of any playfulness, which was almost a first for him. Why did he even have to have stupid long eyelashes? Ones that fluttered oh so beautifully while he was looking down at you.
âIâm fine. Never been better. You should just⊠keep your distance from me,â you warned him as you pushed him away, at least enough, so that you could grab your suitcase again and start walking towards the hotel. It didnât take him long to catch up to you with his stupid long legs.
âI can see that my closeness is having an effect on you even though you clearly claimed in sophomore year that you are immune to boys like me.â
âI am. Itâs not my fault that you sneaked up to me like that, and that lamp post was there behind me,â you pointed out defensively, and kept your eyes on the back of the last two students from your class.
Miss Lee got Mr Brown with him - your English teacher -, so that they could supervise your class, but they were at the front, and you and Leehan were always at the back at events like this, so that no one could get lost (like Yuma and Jo on a company visit to Samsung in sophomore year) or hide in a bush ever again (Gyuvin once tried that during a class trip).
âWell, this is my city, and Iâm going to make sure everyone has the time of their life, including you,â Leehan announced triumphantly, flashing a smile at you that was akin to the ones he used when he was campaigning to be voted as the vice-president again after last year. No wonder Rei didnât get the title even though you would have preferred to have her instead of Leehan.
âSure. Good luck with that,â you wished with an eye roll, and urged Ricky in front of you to keep moving instead of checking his hair in the hotelâs glass door.
If Leehanâs idea of having the time of your life was handing out shark-shaped gummies and bringing giant Sony party speakers to the pool - the ones that even had microphones attached to them, so you could have a karaoke - on the second night, you would have a pretty miserable life.
Nevertheless, you were only there because Miss Lee and Mr Brown were on duty at the entrance, checking if no one tried to sneak alcohol into the hotel, so you didnât even bother with a swimsuit, you merely wore a flowery summer dress. Much to some girlsâ dismay, most of the boys didnât go shirtless, they had long-sleeved yet tight swimwear and shorts, the ones people used for some water sports. Though since Rickyâs parents owned the brand they wore, you had an idea why.
Anton was on lifeguard duty since he was on the national swimming team, and he would probably rather jump in to save a drowning student than manoeuvre himself around guys playing with plastic water guns and girls chatting in the pool instead of outside of it. You asked him if he needed anything - something to drink or to take a break -, but he said that he was fine, so you didnât need to worry.
You acknowledged his answer with a bob of your head, and turned around just in time to be splashed by a huge amount of water by Pierre who had just jumped in. You stood there, frozen, your summer dress completely sticking to your body, and you were in the middle of blinking the water out of your eyes when you heard someone yell âclass presidentâ and then you were pushed into the water with the kind of force that you could not resist.
Itâs not like you couldnât get any wetter than this, but you couldnât swim, and your flailing hands didnât do a thing to keep you up. You were about to throw every kind of rationality out of the window as your basic survival instincts kicked in, but you could feel strong hands pulling you to the surface in no time, Antonâs body emerging from the water beside yours.
âAre you okay?â The boy inquired with big, bright eyes, his damp hair hiding most of his face before he reached out to push his hair back.Â
Still struggling to breathe properly, you mumbled something akin to an answer, and blinked rapidly, taking in the silence around you and the concerned or curious eyes of your classmates.
The only one who wasnât surprised to see you struggling was Anton since he had gotten the names of students who couldnât swim in case no one else would jump in to save a drowning student - a list you had volunteered to put together and pass onto him. Never in your wildest dreams would you have thought that you would be the first one who had to be rescued by him, and that the whole class would know about the fact that you couldnât swim already on the second day of the trip.
You, the straight A-student, class president since sophomore year, speaking three languages fluently and playing the violin professionally. You, the daughter of the owners of the most prestigious private clinic in not only Seoul but the whole country. You, who was not supposed to have any weakness or fear.
You could faintly hear someone apologise and Anton asking if you needed him to ask for a medical staff, but you shrugged everyone off. Your flip-flops were probably in the pool somewhere after your fall, and you couldnât be bothered to go back and fetch them. Instead, you furiously trampled back into the hotel barefoot.
It wasnât just the dress sticking to you, it was humiliation too, something that you had not experienced on such a wide level after being told in front of the whole class that you had messed up a basic equation during a Maths test. No one would have guessed that you had been ill the whole week before the test because you had not let them know about it.
When you heard footsteps behind you, you already knew who it was before you turned to face him in all your wet glory, pitiful compared to his beautiful shoulder-length hair, softest of the brown of chestnuts and fluffiest of the ruffable kind.
âWhat do you want? I can go to my room on my own, thank you so much,â you told him off before he could have given you an answer, but then, he draped a towel over your body without saying a word.
You were about to shrug it off, but he pulled it tighter around you, holding the ends of the towel with his fists. You looked up at him, eyes throwing angry daggers, and maybe that was what prompted him to justify his actions.
âYour dress⊠itâs kind of see-through now,â he blurted out as if it was difficult for him to say something that could have been - under different circumstances - borderline flirty. But this was in no way a time and place where you would have wanted to be told that the white flowery dress of yours that should have not been in contact with any kind of liquid was now showing everyone what was underneath. How stupid of you, how stupid of those stupid boys to still act like dumbass kids and push others into the water.
Even if it was not Leehan who did this to you, his remark set something off within you, like when the countdown is up on a ticking time bomb or the trigger is pulled.
âYou see, thatâs why I didnât want to come here. Itâs not enough that now the whole class knows that I canât swim but they also saw my underwear. Great. Iâm really having the best time of my life, Leehan,â you spitted out furiously, pushing his hands away before pulling the tower tighter around your body, and walking back to your room, drops of water and mortification following your barefoot steps.
Of course, the news of the incident reached your teachers pretty quickly, and both Miss Lee and Mr Brown were knocking on your door as soon as you managed to get changed and hide the remains of your tears with an embarrassing amount of concealer. You reassured them that you were fine, but they told you to take it easy for the rest of the night, they would ask Anton to look over the students in your place since he was already monitoring the pool either way.
Then, Noah also came by to apologise for pushing you into the water. It wasnât even the most embarrassing part that he had to come by to do it, the most embarrassing part came when he gave you that pitiful look, that âoh, I didnât know you canât swimâ, something that almost made you curse him out right on the spot. Instead, you told him to keep himself in check for the rest of the trip because you wouldnât help him out in Biology if you ever heard him joke about this incident. He scurried away like a wounded animal, but at least, he came by.
When the third knock on your room came, you seriously contemplated not opening the door. After all, you could be listening to music with your noise-cancelling headphones on, or you could already be sleeping, or even crying in the bathroom like you had done so an hour ago. In the end, you didnât want to be a coward, and opened the door, but the last person you wanted to see there was Leehan.
âLook, before you ask what Iâm doing here, I want to say that I got some stuff for you from the kitchen because Miss Lee said that you didnât come down for dinner, and I thought you might be hungry,â he started, holding up his hands in front of his chest as if saying that he knew you were about to ask him these questions. You were, and even if he thought that you were moping in your room (which you did) because you were still embarrassed about what had just happened (which you were), you didnât want to give him the satisfaction of agreeing to him.
However, he beat you to it, and continued his monologue before you could even open your mouth to protest.
âItâs not because I think you wouldnât come down after what happened, but if youâre worried about the others, donât worry. There is already bigger news such as Kit confessing to Millie and Gyuvin stepping on a bee and getting stung, so everyoneâs already over what happened with you. Maybe except Anton who kept asking if you were alright, but that boy is too kind-hearted not to do so,â he said so in such a conversational manner that someone walking by might have thought that you were talking about the weather.
Maybe it was the drowning experience getting to you or the genuine consideration in his words and actions, but you found yourself smiling, and before you could hide it, Leehan also noticed it.
âOh great, youâre smiling! Now, eat your dinner or you wonât get tall,â he teased you as he reached out the plate of food he brought. There was a sandwich, some veggies, crisps and a napkin on it, plus a bottle of smoothie in his other hand.
âYah, I take after my mother in terms of height. She would be sad if she heard you criticising my height,â you pointed out, puffing your chest out like you wanted to take pride in your frame. Not everyone could be so stupidly tall as him (and many other boys in the class, by the way).
âAlright, alright, Iâll take it back.â
âWell, thank you,â you retorted a bit playfully before looking down at the plate in your hand. âAnd for the food, too,â you added a bit more seriously while you looked back at him. He just kept staring at you, the ends of his lips curling upwards in somewhat of an affectionate gesture, and it was so unlike the Leehan that you knew that you found it difficult to form coherent words.
âAnd the towel, too,â you found yourself admitting, a bit struck by that never-seen-before smile of his. Even his dimples popped off when the smile reached a certain height, and suddenly, you had no idea what to say.
âWell then, I guess my dutyâs done for today. Good night, Y/N!â Leehan broke the silence first, breaking the serene moment, but you were actually thankful for him. For a second, you were scared that if you saw more of this side of him, you would start falling for him, and you couldnât allow yourself to.
âGood night, Leehan!â You wished with a smile that you would not take responsibility for, before closing the door on him.
Itâs not that you and Leehan were enemies as per se. Itâs more like you were usually of a different opinion, and as class president and vice-president who had to work together pretty much all the time, it was quite bothersome to put up with it. Not to mention the crowd of fangirls following him everywhere.
At first, you thought that he was just a pretty face, joyfully swimming in his glory, but from time to time, you could catch a glimpse into how taxing it was to act like he did so on the daily - reacting to girls with a kind smile no matter what they said, playing along with their flirty remarks and always trying to say the right words to avoid getting into trouble. When some studentsâ inquiries were far too personal or pushy, you tried to step in, and made excuses for you two, so that you could leave the scene, and far too often, Leehan thanked you for it. He didnât have to know that you didnât do it for yourself (which you claimed that you did) but for him.
However, after the events on the second day, you didnât know what to do with yourself when you were around him. After all, he had no reason to pay you a visit and to bring you dinner. He didnât even have to confirm it with Miss Lee that you hadnât come down to get dinner. So why was he going the extra mile? Your first thought was that he wanted something from you, but when the next day passed by without any favours, just a day of going to the aquarium, walking along the seaside and a moderate pool party at night, you grew suspicious.
On the fourth day, when you were done with sightseeing for the day, the teachers gave you three hours of free time to look around by yourselves, and it was the perfect chance to ask the boy about it while the students around you were busy deciding on their activity.
âDo you want something from me?â You posed the question at Leehan straight-forwardly, and the boy furrowed his eyebrows in question, appearing perplexed.
âWhat do you mean by that?â
âI mean⊠youâre awfully kind to me these days. Perhaps⊠did you do something to my locker before we left for the trip?â You guessed suspiciously, suddenly being reminded of the time he put a heart-shaped sticker on your locker with the words âclass presidentâ written with ink in the middle of it. It was after you were selected class president for the second consecutive year, and it was his first time being the vice president beside you. Needless to say, it was impossible to remove that sticker no matter how hard you tried, you could only manage to wash off the ink, and now it seemed even more embarrassing to have a random heart-shaped ticker on your locker from no other than Leehan.
The boy must have found it extremely amusing to see you suspecting him like that because he let out that endearing giggle of his that was both boyish and innocent.
âNow that you mention it, maybe I should haveâŠâ He teased you with a lopsided grin, and you were about to smack him in the side when Gyuvin, Ricky and Taesan came up to you to ask where you were thinking of going in your free time. You heard Millie, Liv and Selina say that they would go shopping, and Leo said something about wanting to try fishing (though you had no idea if it was allowed at this part of the seaside), you didnât know about othersâ plans.
Truth to be told, you had no idea about yours either, you would probably just find yourself a cosy little cafĂ© and take a breather because it was hot and stuffy out here, but you didnât want anyone else to follow suit, so you didnât say a word.
âTaesan, you know that place that Iâve told you about? You should go ahead with the guys, we need to discuss something with Y/N about tomorrowâs activities,â Leehan answered first, and you gave him a side eye. What more did you need to discuss with him other than the ones you already did?
Taesan seemed somewhat perplexed for a moment, but then, his features smoothened, and he coolly told the others to follow him. Even though Gyuvin suggested that they could wait for you, Ricky patted his shoulder and dragged the lanky boy with him, so it was just you and Leehan again.
âWhat more do we need to discuss?â
âI want to show you something,â he announced, scratching the back of his neck a bit shyly. Since you were awful at reacting normally to surprises, you merely said:
âIs this the part where you will take me to an abandoned warehouse and leave me there, so that you can be the class president next year?â
Leehan let out a deep, joyous laughter hearing your question, and reassured you that no, he wouldnât want to run for class president because that was your title, and no, he wouldnât take you to an abandoned warehouse. He explained that the guys might not enjoy what he was about to show you, but if he remembered correctly, you would do so.
You eyed him for a good thirty seconds before letting him take you where he wanted. After all, it was his city, he knew his way around, so you followed him, and soon enough, you found yourself in the Busan Arboretum with one of the prettiest glasshouses you had ever seen in real life.
You were waiting for the boy to crack a joke or say something teasing, but instead, he merely declared:
âI remembered you making a presentation about the functionality of glasshouses and ending it with different glasshouses in the country, and I donât know if you remember, but this was one of them.â
âI do, but how do you remember that?â You turned the tables, turning to look at him, to look him in the eyes because you didnât get it. How did he remember such an insignificant detail from a presentation you had given years ago?
Leehan smiled at you gently as if he was looking at a child, ready to say something, but then, he decided otherwise and averted his eyes to the plants in front of him. After a few seconds, he cleared his throat and asked if you wanted to take pictures. So you let him take a few shots of you in exchange for doing the same for him, and it was all fun and games, acting silly and joking about pushing the other into a cactus when a sudden realisation hit you like lighting:
Were you falling for Leehan?
On the fifth day, you went to the Gamcheon Culture Village with its picturesque murals and quaint alleys, soaking up a mixture of art and history while listening to the tour guide who was assigned to your group. There were many pretty stairs, vibrant art installations and even a statue of the Little Prince and its Fox looking over the houses that were clumped together as if they were meant to be. The tour was supposed to last 4 hours, but it was close to 5 hours by the time everyone stopped posing for pictures and halting at every possible corner.
You must have been visibly in awe because Leehan joked that you should close your mouth, but when you admitted that you didnât expect Busan to be this diverse, you caught sight of a proud smile stretching across his lips. He reminded you that he told you that he would make sure everyone has the time of their life, but you rebutted by stating that the itinerary was mainly Miss Leeâs work, not his. To that, he didnât say anything, just kept smiling to himself like a fool, giving yet another reason for Taesan to give him a side eye.
After finishing the tour with a lunch break in between, you picked up some ice cream before the tour bus picked you up and took you back to the hotel. That night was BBQ-themed and there was also a campfire, something so movie-like and childish, yet it had a special feel to it because most of you had never had a campfire. Your families werenât the typical families that took you camping for vacation. Most of you flew to other countries to visit a store from your parentsâ chain or to accompany your relatives to important events. Having a BBQ where you could take part in grilling the meat, preparing the veggies and side dishes, and singing songs around the campfire werenât exactly the kind of activities that you were used to, but no one complained. Not even Ricky who ate his hamburger with a knife and a fork because he hated getting his hands dirty.
It was also fun listening to all the different songs your classmates sang in all the different languages - from French to Spanish, Vietnamese to Korean -, how different they sounded, yet how much you enjoyed them all despite not understanding the words. One thing that you liked about your school - and your class - was that it was so diverse, you never had to worry that you would stand out because of your skin colour or hair, everyone was welcome. Whilst that didnât lift the weight off your shoulders that the academic pressure put on, you were grateful that you had the chance to be exposed to such a supportive learning environment.
âWanna play Truth or Dare?â Zack asked enthusiastically after it seemed like everyone was out of songs, and even Miss Lee dared to sit beside Mr Brown, reassured that no one would set the grill on fire (though Leo was close to it at one point).
âReally? We are almost seniors, thatâs for kids,â Yechan refuted with a huff, rolling his eyes in a sassy way.
âDoes that mean you have something to hide?â Wonyoung asked with a playful grin, and that was all it took for Yechan to give in and join the game. You passed on it, not wanting to be the victim of any of the âdaresâ which - based on last yearsâ games - always included doing aegyo, a popular girl group dance (for both boys and girls), reenacting drama scenes, doing 50 pushups, chugging down Coke within 1 minute or kissing someone. You didnât want to be a victim of any of it.
The others only protested for like a minute before they forgot about it, and let you walk away from the circle of students sitting around the campfire. You walked up to the edge of the property, leaning against the railing and taking in the scenery. You were so used to the huge skyscrapers in the capital city and the magnificent walls of your boarding school that times like this reminded you that there was a world outside of the little bubble you existed in for most part of the year, or at least the school year.
âGuests always get surprised when they see this view because they initially think our description of a beautiful view of the sea is an overstatement,â Leehan remarked in a conversational manner while he was walking up to you, and halted beside you, only an arm's length away. His hair was seemingly freshly washed, some unruly locks escaping his earlobe and falling into his eyes instead. Even though he did tuck them behind his ears dutifully, you were itching to do the same for him.
Gosh, you were really going insane, werenât you? And yet⊠falling for him never seemed so thrilling.
âThere are a lot of scams nowadays,â you hummed, pointing out that a lot of accommodations did indeed lie about beautiful views and such, so that people would choose them. His family didnât lie though. âItâs so pretty,â you admitted quietly, watching as the setting sun painted different streaks onto the surface of the water, colours ranging from grape purple to princeton orange. You usually didnât notice the sunrise or the sunset when you were scooped up in your room or the library, so having to witness such beautiful installations in the sky for the past week was kind of moving.
âYou are prettier.â
When the words rolled off Leehanâs tongue, you snapped your head back to look at him, but just like his tone, his expression was gentle, too. He appeared so soft, so dreamy in that moment with the sunset painting colours onto the canvas of his skin, that for the first time in a while, you were completely speechless beside him. As if you were enchanted or starstruck. Both of which could actually be true.
Leehan though, he took note of your silence, too.
âI donât even get an âoh, thatâs too cheesy, stop itâ?â He asked, now with a lopsided grin, and you let out a light-hearted giggle in return. Something weightless bubbled up inside of you when you simply stated:
âI would tell you that if I didnât know that you like me.â
The boyâs eyes widened to almost twice their size, his lips slightly parting. He looked so baffled, almost as if you had told him that you wouldnât run for class president next year - something that everyone took for granted after your first year together.
âY-you know?â
âI mean, I had a feeling after the second day when you checked up on me and brought me dinner, but I became certain after the arboretum visit,â you confessed, somewhat easier now that you saw his reaction, and he didnât deny it. Maybe the only one who needed convincing about oneâs feelings was you about your own. âYou didnât even tell me why you remembered that glasshouse presentation of mine, so after I did some analysing and calculating of our three years together, thatâs the conclusion I reached.â
Despite your voice not wavering, your heart was going wild, thumping against your ribcage. You didnât know why because you knew he liked you, and you liked him too, but still⊠You could barely process your own feelings, let alone his feelings towards you, and now you saw all the little interactions you had with him before in a whole new light.
âAnd is that a satisfactory conclusion for you?â He quirked an eyebrow, both amused and uncertain, and the way he played along was all there was to say about your dynamics.
âYes, because I feel the same way.â
âWhat kind of same way?â Leehan teased as he took a step closer to you, purposefully making you say it out loud. You heaved a sigh, looking away from his gorgeous face to be able to pull yourself together before you looked back and said:
âYou know⊠I like you, too,â you blurted out as fast as you could, and you were awarded with his cutest toothy smile, dimples popping out, eyes turning into little crescents. Something that you had not seen him display around any girl before, and the fact that it was for you made you feel a bit emotional.
âOf course,â he mused as he reached out, and his fingers started playing with yours resting on the railing, testing the waters. Maybe a few days ago you would have said that you were unable to move because it was so sudden, so unexpected, but now you knew that it was because it was him, and because one touch of his electrified you from head to toe. âI knew you werenât immune to me either,â he added playfully, and you were about to smack him in the chest, but he caught your hand, and intertwined your fingers instead.
And you let him tease you as much as he wanted, at least for now.
Next day rolled by quickly, and it was already time to leave. You couldnât deny that you came here, hating even the idea of being in this city, let alone Leehanâs familyâs hotel, but now, you were reluctant to leave because leaving meant leaving him behind.
âItâs just for the summer, Leehan,â you reminded him when he was sulking to you in the hotel lobby, but it seemed like he wasnât convinced. He tried to make you stay for at least a few more days because he wouldnât go back with the rest of you to Seoul, but you told him that you were invited to a few events with your family in the next week, so you had to go back. Plus, you were volunteering during the summer at the childrenâs ward in a local hospital, but you reassured him that you could squeeze some time in to come back to Busan.
âBut still⊠weâve only just begun,â he whimpered like a child, his fingers playing with yours as you were standing face-to-face. Even yesterday, he could barely let go of you when he walked you back to your room, and today, he was being clingy, too. No wonder the whole class knew by now that you two were together.
âYou know, thereâs this thing called technology. We can text, videochat, whatever you want.â
âBut it wonât be the same as seeing my pretty girlfriend in person,â he protested with an all too cute pout, and even though you should have been prepared for compliments like this from him, you werenât.
Yechan walked by you with an audible cough, followed by Ricky and Gyuvin. Gyuvinâs eyes widened comically when he saw Leehanâs fingers holding onto yours, and he turned to his friends, asking since when you two were a thing.
âDude⊠youâre like three years behind,â Yechan snickered into his hands, watching Gyuvinâs meme-like surprised face with amusement. Ricky just looked at him, probably wondering how they ended up becoming friends.
âWait! Have they been together all these years?â
You couldnât help a laughter bubbling up in your chest as the three of them walked out of the hotel. There were a few girls afterwards who giggled when they saw you two so close to each other, but no one said anything hurtful. Maybe they indeed knew all along.
âI really gotta go now. You know, since my vice-president wonât be with me, Iâll have to do the attendance check alone.â
âSince when was I âyourâ vice-president, hmm?â Leehan asked with a smirk, leaning closer to you to watch your face crumble from up-close, then flush, dressing your cheeks in a ruby-red cover.
âI didnât say that.â
âOh, you did.â
âI didnât, you heard it wrong.â
âI heard it very clearly, you called me your vice-president, and I-â
Whatever Leehan was about to say was muffled by the kiss you planted on his left cheek in an attempt to shut him up and leave the topic as it is. However, the boy completely froze, and he only managed to pull himself together when you eventually walked away from him to get on the school bus.
Then, he was in full-on puppy mode, waving at the bus with his toothy smile, his eyes turning to little crescents again. Your favourite sight, you decided right then and there.

â teacher college au ; strict adviser!nat (science teacher) x coadviser cute!reader (english teacher)
â im sure school isnt the same for everyone butttt for me in each class we have a teacher assigned as our advisor!!! they also teach classes
â longass oneshot because iâve been working on this for two monthsâŠâŠ
soon, it was the beginning of a new school year at nyu. natasha, a science teacher known for her strictness, is finally getting her own advisory class.
natasha walks over to to her desk at the large, wine colored faculty and the new paper at the bulletin board catches her eye.
the list of co-advisors and advisors for this school year. natasha walks towards it and racks her eyes for her name and sees another beside it.
advisor - co advisor
Romanoff, Natasha - Y/l/n, Y/n
Barnes, Bucky - Rogers, Steve
Maximoff, Wanda - Barton, Clint
âŠ
natasha furrows her eyebrows at the unfamiliar name next to hers.
âwanda, who is y/n y/l/n?â natasha turns around to the other redhead. if anyone were to know who and what, it would be wanda.
wanda was always the first to get on campus, natasha second.
âoh! sheâs the new english teacher. very sweet young woman, maria accepted that job in harvard, remember?â she says with a sweet smile.
âyou know this how?â natasha takes her seat in front of her desk, beside wandaâs âi bumped into her as she was given a tour, youâll love her as your co- advisor!â natasha gave a hum.
she didnât meet you till 2 weeks before the school year started. a faculty meeting was held at the auditorium. natasha walked in, expecting to be second, but was now third. she saw wanda and a y/h/c talking.
ânat!â wanda waved her over as the y/h/c turned her head to see natasha approaching ânatasha, this is y/n! y/n, natashaâ
ây/nâ you smiled, extending your hand for a handshake âromanoffâ she shook your hand once and dropped it âoh- of course, y/l/n thenâ you laughed as she nodded, taking the seat beside wanda.
natasha wouldnât lie, you were attractive. she just didnât know you enough. the meeting soon started, briefing what would happen when the students came. the list of advisors and co-advisors came up, making each person familiar with who they were working with.
after that, natasha soon realized your desk was beside hers at the faculty. you didnât have much but some flowers at the side and sticky notes up.
natasha didnât see much of you till the week of school starting itself. âwanda, do you happen do have y/l/nâs phone number?â âwhy donât you ask her yourself, flirtyâ wanda giggled
ânot in that way, genius. we need to prep our classroomâ âsureeee⊠here ya goâ wanda gave a post it as natasha grumbled, taking it.
Natasha Romanoff
Y/l/n, if youâre free please meet me
at our assigned room tomorrow. Thanks.
â N.R
Y/n Y/l/n
Sure! Around what time? :)
Natasha Romanoff
11AM Sharp.
Y/n Y/l/n
Got it! See you there!
ânat why are you being so dry to this poor womanâ wanda looked over natashaâs desk as she hid her phone to her chest. âsnoopyâ âdry texterâ âWell sheâs my co-advisor! Iâve never had one and I like to handle things on my ownâ
âA, youâve never even been an advisor, you need help. B, sheâs kind, donât break her. C, sheâs pretty, maybe date herâ wanda winked again âoh fuck youâ natasha rolled her eyes âromanoff! weâre in schoolâ âoh come on, I hear you swearing at little maximoff all dayâ
11am the next day came and each advisor and co had to decorate their own classroom. natasha and you decided to just make it as simple as possible. you two were decorating with quiet music playing from a vinyl player.
âsorry if ever iâm being rude or dry, i donât trust people easilyâ natasha said, breaking the comfortable silence as she hung up decorations over the board.
âi donât blame you, you did just meet me last weekâ you let out a chuckle as natasha climbed down the short ladder ânatashaâ she extended her hand ây/nâ you shook it âI think this is good enoughâ natasha looks around the decorated classroom, satisfied.
âmhm⊠hey, wanna grab lunch? i know a great place around hereâ you suggested âwhy notâ
you and natasha walked over to a cafĂ© after lunch for come coffee âorder?â she asked you as you took a seat âiced caramel macchiato pleaseâ she nodded and ordered for you both
natasha told you about her many stories as a teacher. âyeah this one time some kid threw a fit and ripped all the pages from their bookâ natasha said with a low laugh âoh lordâ you shook your head with a smile
âwhat about you? is this your first teaching job?â natasha tilted her head âsort of? i was a student teacher for 2 years before i graduated this yearâ
âoh, so youâre like fresh out of college?â âyup, i kind of retook a year in grade school though so i was like a year or two older than my batch mates. they graduated 22 and 23 and me, 24â i shrugged sipping on my coffee. âthatâs niceâ
âwhat about you?â âmy age? iâm 36.â your eyes widened at that âlook, i know iâm old but at least donât make it obviousâ natasha laughed lowly âno! no i just- you donât look it at all, i honestly thought you were in your 20sâ you chuckled âwell thank you, iâm flatteredâ natasha smiled
the morning of your first day, natasha handed you an iced caramel macchiato and you blushed as she remembered your order. ânervous?â she smiled, taking her seat beside you.
natasha wore a black betau top with cream wide leg trousers. you wore a lace flare top with flare pants.
âsort of, i have 3 classes today. theyâll probably hate meâ you groan and take a long sip of the coffee âunlikely, youâre very likable. you may even take wandaâs place as nicest teacher. but if they ever disrespect you or any of that, i will personally have a chat with themâ
âi really appreciate you, natashaâ she nodded and stood up, extending her hand âtime to have our first advisory classâ she winked and you chuckled, shaking your head.
âgood morning class, iâm ms romanoff, your advisor this school year. and beside me is your co-advisor, ms y/l/n. iâve been teaching at nyu for 5 years and this is my first advisory class. i will also be your science teacher.â natasha said with a straight face as she turned to look at you before looking back at the students
âhi! good morning, iâm ms y/l/n, your co- advisor and english teacher this school year! itâs my first year teaching and i look forward to getting to know everyoneâ you smiled
natasha briefed everyone on general instructions and the schedule. english as first period today and science as last.
âthatâs it, be good everyone, thank youâ natasha stopped her presentation and all the students went off to chattering. you opened your laptop, opening your slides when natasha whispered behind you. âgood luck, youâll do greatâ she winked and you thanked her before you heard the door shut.
ifâs been a month of teaching with natasha. you were cleaning up your things as your finished your class when natasha walked in, her class being the one after yours.
she made small talk to you while setting up her own things. she made you laugh when a student suddenly asked. âms y/l/n! youâre a lesbian, correct?â your eyes widened at the topic
âexcuse me, i donât think itâs appropriate to ask a teacher that.â natasha shut them up as you both left the classroom, sharing a laugh
you had slipped out the fact you had a girlfriend in college to natasha on one of your café hangouts so she probably got the hint.
"what got them to ask that question" natasha chuckled "well the boys keep asking me out and i keep declining them. but don't they get they are students?!" âoh trust me, it gets better. iâve had my fair share of questions and-â natasha halted her words when she got the hint some students were whispering as the both of you passed by the halls.
âwhat are they whispering about?â âiâm actually not sure as wellâ you said âwell iâll see you after classâ you waved to natasha, making your way to the classroom.
âms y/l/n, i donât mean to invade your privacy or anything but- are you and ms romanof dating? everyone has been talking about it and- i- i just didnât want to assumeâ a student came up to you and you choked on your spit
âi- um- no! and iâm sure ms romanoff wouldnât fancy the idea of students talking about her love life.â you shook it off with a smile, thoughts racing through your head. no way natasha would go for you.
âstudents are saying weâre dating?!?â
"hey, you've been staring intently at that paper for awhile, you alright?" natasha tapped your shoulder, standing beside you.
"this interpretation is so..." "so.." "read it for yourself" you lifted the paper up to natasha "pick a line from any shakespeare poem and interpret it... the answer was..â
'my chosen poem is 'o never say that i was false of heart' and my line is 'as from soul, which in thy breast doth lie', i think it means shakespeare approves of lesbiansâ"
"you can laugh" you said as natasha let out a loud laugh, covering her mouth. you looked up and you saw natasha smile widely before looking into your eyes.
time went by too slowly when natasha cleared her throat and handed you back the paper. âitâs funnyâ she stated, sitting back in her seat. the silence was now awkward.
of course she wouldnât go for you. âyeahâ you whispered and stood up. natasha watched you as her words died in her throat.
the next few weeks were you avoiding natasha as much as you could, and her doing nothing to fix it.
you had a particularly rough week with taking an extra class since wanda was down with the cold. you happened to have a love for history as well.
the papers to grade were twice as much now. you rubbed your forehead in frustration as you were the only one on school campus.
ây/n?â you turned around to see natasha by the door âyeahâ you murmured before turning back to the papers. âitâs 1 am what are you doing?!â she walked over to your desk and saw the amount of papers scattered.
âgo homeâ she stated ânot doneâ you whispered, leaning on the palm of your hand âyou can continue tomorrow, dektaâ natasha let the nickname slip but was thankful you were too out of it to notice
natasha started filing the papers for you as you rested your head against the desk. âi can take homeroom alone so you donât have to get in till 10am, âkay?â she helped you stand up as you murmured a yes.
âyou wonât fall asleep driving?â she asked and you shook your head. âsafe travelsâ she watched as you drove off.
the next morning students frowned at the loss of their favorite teacher in homeroom. âalright, we finished a few minutes early so⊠any questions?â natasha asked and received many raised hands
âyes, diana?â âwhereâs ms y/n?â natasha softened at the mention, not going unnoticed by the students âshe- sheâs taking a rest but will be here for your 3rd periodâ
âis her girlfriend taking care of her?â a student piqued. natasha stiffened âwhatever ms y/l/n and her partner do is not relevant.â natasha looked at her watch and grabbed her stuff âhave a good first period everyone.â
natasha couldnât help but feel a weight on her chest by the thought of you having a partner that isnât her.
unbeknownst to her, the students were ready in their cupid skills.
âiâm telling you, diana! she frowned and got all cold again by the mention of ms y/n having a girlfriend!â the student argued. âwhat if we sent fake flowers to her desk and ms romanoff got more jealous!â âthatâs so childish!â âwell- i am a teen?â the students bickered but quickly got quiet when their next subject teacher came.
the next day natashaâs mood got worse upon seeing roses on your table, with a note. you came a few minutes after hers.
âmorning ms romanoffâ natasha tried to hold her tounge at the downgrade from natasha to ms romanoff.
âmorning y/n, you know you can call me natasha, right?â you nodded but smiled at the flowers on your desk
âgirlfriend?â she asked and you laughed ânoâ you opened up the card to see a horrible pickup line that made you laugh.
âpeople ask me what blush i use, i just show them a photo of you and iâm all rosesâ you read out loud to natasha.
âcornyâ she snickered âyeah? you can do better than that, romanoff?â natasha spun her chair to face you âas a matter of fact, yes.â âtry meâ you smirked âoh youâll see.â
since then, every morning you would get to your desk with a pickup line from natasha which were undeniably good.
itâs been four months of teaching when you left quite frantically that piqued natashaâs interest,
âwhatâs the rush?â she chuckled âgotta dateâ you shoved your stuff into your bag âbye wanda, steve, bruce, tasha!â you left before a reply
âhope she gets laidâ wanda muttered, earning a slap from natasha âwhat! iâm being supportive!â natasha grumbled in response
the next day, natasha was surprised to see you and wanda earlier than usual. âmorning nat!â wanda greeted and you forced a smile to her as well âwhatâs wrong?â âshe stood me up⊠i got a lot of work done last night thoughâ you leaned back in your seat
âiâm sorry y/n/nâ natasha set her stuff down and handed you the daily pickup line. she smiled when you laughed. âhow do you never fail to come up with a bad one?!? this is like number sixty!â âone of my many talentsâ natasha winked.
âimma get coffee, be right backâ you left and wanda immediately said âask her out.â âwhat?â natasha looked at wanda âcome onnnnnn! itâs been 4 monthsâ âshould i really?â natasha asked quietly and wanda shrieked a yes. a small smile was forming on natashaâs face at the idea.
the next day natasha came even earlier than wanda and set roses on your desk.
natasha fiddled with her pen when you walked in âmorning wands, morning tashaâ you sat on your desk and smiled at the roses. wanda quietly snuck out the door. âare these from you?â you smirked, jokingly at natasha. âyes, and this is for you, natasha said seriously and handed you a post it. in specific, a sticky note that asks you out. this one finally has her name signed on the bottom.
âi- of courseâ you smiled at natasha âgreat! i- um- iâll pick you up tonight at your placeâ âalrightâ you smiled widely âi have a thing- iâll be backâ she nodded as you left.
bonus-
you kept all post its from natasha and she was in awe when she saw them in the box.
the students all went crazy when they saw you both kissing online.
wanda was a bridesmaid at the wedding.

So with Fairly odd parents and Nicktoons unite taking over my attention atm
And getting inspired by fairy Timmy au like @cubbihue @katescribblesabit where Timmy gets turned into a fairy and adopted by Wanda and Cosmo but Iâve also got some ideas from @nicktoonsunite nicktoons unite crossover ideas my fairy Timmy au will include the nicktoons unite games (as well as Jimmy Tommy power hour)
So most of us by now know Timmyâs birth parents are kinda dumb and neglectful annnddd we can blame them and Timmyâs teacher cocker for about half of Timmyâs wishes being out of wack BUT not all of Timmyâs wishes do bad like theyâre been number of times Timmyâs wishes have saved Fairy world and they brought about Poof/ peri heck even saved their universe so itâs safe to say fairy world loves Timmy (( and like Wanda and Cosmo theyâll fed up with Timmyâs birth parents and so maybe when Timmyâs 13-14 years old the fairy council along with Jorgen have agreed that Wanda and Cosmo can adopt Timmy as they own child to raise with poof/peri because they have all shown how much they all love each other like a family and being as itâs been centuries from the last time a human child was turned into a fairy and as a temporary one the last one to be turn into a full fairy conducts the change witch is where my fairy oc Felicity comes in ( she was a human child turned fairy back when Australia was getting convicts from the British and was adopted by Jorgenâs Nana boom boom) who warns being as Timmyâs done so much for fairy world and their universe that like his little fairy bother peri Timmy gonna be a very powerful fairy child and it will take awhile for him to get used to to all the magic to settle and on top of that he will get his own anti fairy but Jorgen will be there to nab the anti fairy and send him to anti fairy world but she warns itâs not an easy change BUT Timmy thinking of everything Wanda Cosmo Peri mean to him and how much theyâve shown they care for him against everything and all his mistakes agrees to it and while he goes through this change he thinks of them
Also Negative Timmy starts to appear as Timmyâs anti Fairy while unbeknownst to the fairies Anti Cosmo Wanda and Foop/ Irep have come to see what fairy-world was up to being as all of fairy world came to Timmyâs turning into a fairy
Timmy makes it through the change and in his fairy form his brown hair now has pink green and purple highlights in it to represent Wanda Cosmo and peri; Wanda Cosmo and peri have to catch him because he had to take on a lot power and that can be a lot for one person to take and this is when anti fairy Timmy finished forming and this is when Jorgen was going to nab him but anti cosmo nabs the boy and wisks him anti Wanda and Foop/ Irep away to anti fairy world saying ah ah no Jorgen anti fairies Iâm in charge of not you fairies (not that anti fairy Timmy can do anything yet heâs only just been created into existence so heâs still dealing with new powers backlash as well but heâs safe with anti Wanda and anti cosmo )
Now while fairy world celebrates in Timmy Becoming a full fairy and being adopted by Wanda and Cosmo back on earth Timmyâs birth parents donât yet realise they no longer have their son ( it takes them about 2 weeks witch is when school asked why Timmy hasnât show up for school and then then they realise Timmyâs missing and then call the cops about him missing but also get chewed out for taking so long to realise he was missing and a month long investigation goes into trying to find him but the case goes cold so they have to give up)
Now over with Jimmyâs universe heâs doing great in school heâs won quite few awards for his science experiments and inventions and heâs wondering how Timmy Danny and like are doing in their universes now Danny and SpongeBob reply but there are no replies from Timmy and so worried they go to Timmyâs universe to try to find him and find out heâs gone missing so they go to check out Timmyâs room to see if they can find some clues and frost thing Jimmy notices is the fish bowl that is now got nothing in it not even water
Witch is when they see a light start to appear by Timmyâs old bedroom window so Danny makes them all invisible with his ghost powers and then the light poofs into the room and turns into fairy felicity whoâs there to take away the fish bowl with her magic so no more links to fairy world through the fish bowl and to make sure but then spongebob brings out a butterfly net to capture her when Jimmy says these holograms can hopefully lead into where Timmy has gone
Now felicity never met Jimmy Danny and SpongeBob so of course she starts trying to get out of the net but cannot and because sheâs making a lot of noise Jimmy has to open up a portal to take them back to his lab
Now being as felicity was struggling while Danny was not so gentle taking her to Jimmyâs lab she ended up with a few cuts on one arm leading her to bleed a bit onto Jimmyâs lab table (also the butterfly net had a bit of iron in it and fairies canât handle iron)
Now holograms/ programs donât bleed (Iâm of the nonion that Wanda and Cosmo never gotten any cuts around them before and never bleed around jimmy Dannny and SpongeBob before so the feb about them being programmers is going to be brought about
And of course then to help heal her and take away the iron she has to tell Jimmy Danny the SpongeBob the truth and poof up the fairy DA RULES book about how any god kid cannot tell anyone they have fairy godparents and SpongeBob going ooo so Timmyâs like cindaralla and has godparents witch felicity agrees itâs a bit like that but in Timmyâs case being as his birth parents are so bad heâs been taken away and turn into a fairy while Jimmy trying to digest the fact heâs been treating a magical legendary creatures like they were holograms this hold time while Danny and SpongeBob are making friends with felicity and asking whatâs been going on with Timmy and sheâs happily telling them of all the heroics Timmyâs been doing for fairy world and her universe witch is why they canât let Timmyâs birth parents take care of him anymore
And she in thanks for healing her takes all of them to fairy world
When they pop into fairy world the anti fairies are causing trouble because now they have anti Timmy (witch will be going by Ymmit thanks to Foop/irep ) while fairy Timmy along with Wanda Cosmo poof/peri and Jorgen trying to fight them off
So Jimmy Danny and SpongeBob join in and help Timmy save the day so Danny Jimmy and SpongeBob being as they are from a different universe are aloud to keep their memories as long as they keep helping Timmy learn how to use his new powers
Also cue also them getting to meet toddler peri / poof who likes to hang off of his bother Timmy a lot
I could see Jimmy and Danny being great help to Timmy learning how to use his fairy powers as well (also seeing fairy Timmy and toddler Peri hiding in Jimmyâs hair Carl and sheen pop in to say hello to Jimmy from time to time would be funny too)

BEAST X FEM!READER
Resume: you didnât think Hankâd ever move on from Raven, and if he did, he wouldnât be interested in you of all people⊠well, sometimes the world works in weird ways, doesnât it?
A/N: this is pretty short Iâm SO sorryđ
You didnât know when your life turned into what it had, a shit show. In â62, Charles Xavier and Erik lehnsherr had shown up at your job as a teacher in downtown Winchester. They were.. peculiar, to say the least. But, you weirdly⊠trusted them both almost immediately. Maybe it was because they were both mutant too, or just their aura. You didnât know, but you never regretted joining them, trough thick and thin, you were there. You made friends, and a crush.
Hank McCoy, a brilliant man your age had caught your attention almost immediately. He was peculiar, yet so.. easy to love, yâknow? But, you werenât dense, you saw the way he looked at Raven. Honestly, you couldnât even blame him. God she was drop-dead-gorgeous, and had great naming skill! Sheâs the one who came up with your alias, Electropath, for your ability to manipulate and create electricity. So, you kept your feelings burried deep down. But no matter how hard you tried, they never fully left your heart. You loved Hank McCoy, wether that was a curse or blessing, youâd take it to the grave if you had to.
The then Cuba accident happened, Erik and Ravel left, which crushed Hankâs poor heart and yours. Charles was left handicapped. You thought it couldnât possibly get worse, right? Oh boy were you in for a treat. The Vietnam war, got so many students and friends of yours drafted Charles shut down the school. He lost himself in alcohol, didnât take care of himself and⊠altered his mutation to be able to walk, or as he said, âto sleepâ. The man who believed in nothing more than Mutant justice, took away he own mutation.
You knew were he was coming from, the voices in his head must have been excruciating.. but it didnât stop your heartache. On one hand, you watched as your friendâs mental health plummeted like nothing else, and on the other⊠you had unrequited love. The latter was much less of a concern though.
You donât want to get into details, but you basically saved the world, TWICE.
Once in 1973 and the other ten years later. Between then, the school came back into flow, students roaming the halls, you were able to do what you surprisingly missed a lot from your old life before all.. this. Teaching.
You taught science at Charles Xavierâs school for gifted youngsters. And you wouldnât have it any other way. The students loved you and you loved the students, nothing else mattered to you. Well, maybe a certain furry blue man, but.. it isnât the same, isnât it?.
Present day
You roamed the empty halls after last period, most students retrieved to their room or went outside to do god knows what. You hummed with a smile on your face. You class had gone very well today, no mishaps or rowdy students. You were content, until you spotted a familiar blue man, your smile widened as you walked over to the man, standing next to his sitting form. You bend down to his lever slowly
ââHeyââ you utter in his ear. Beast shudders and full on jump.
ââStars and garters!ââ He exclaims and shoots around while you laugh, settling down next to him.
ââWhy did you do that, Y/N?ââ He quizzes, a hand over his chest. You shrug.
ââI donât know, I just felt like it. What are you looking at?ââ You look out the window to find a bunch of teens playing a game of volleyball. A smile spreads across your face.
ââSo, how has your day been so far?ââ
You ask Hank, resting your chin on your hand. ââIt has been good. Iâve been working on a new deviceââ
he admits proudly
ââOh really? What is it?ââ You ask, genuinely curious. But the moment he starts talking, to zone out. You canât help in, that feeling in the pit of your stomach every time you look at him. You had it BAD. You were o zoned out you didnât even realized he STOPPED talking. Well shit.
Hank stops talking the moment he realizes you were, in fact, not listening. You had that dumb, adorable look on your face every time he talked. A grin and big doe eyes. He never wanted to kiss a woman more than he wanted to kiss you right now⊠wow! Calm your hormones, good sir! Jesus, he hadnât felt this way since Raven.. oh he was screwed. Had you always been this pretty? OF COURSE YOU HAVE! HE NOTICED THAT YEARS AND YEARS AGO, HOW WAS HE SO DENSE?? You were RIGHT, there, the whole time. When Raven left, when Alex and the others were drafted to war, when Alex died. He was an idiot! Hey, why is his mouth opening? Hey, you big blue idiot, what are you doing?!! He couldnât stop himself until those 4 words left his mouth.
ââCan I kiss you?ââ
You freeze, he freeze. Itâs a mutual reaction! Aww, you have so much in common! You stumble over your words for a few seconds, red as a tomato. You manage to let out one comprehensive sentence, in a cracked voice. How embarrassing!
ââI-I mean.. yeah, sure you canââ
A dopey grin pull at your lips, lips of which Hank canât tear his eye away from. Oh, heâs leaning in closer! A knot forms in the pit of your stomach as he leans in, you doing the same instinctively. And when your lips meet his? Oh boy youâre done for, how long youâve waited for this is SUREAL. But itâs happening, and you couldnât be happier. The first few kisses are a little awkward, but he gets himself back in hands after the third one, grabbing your smaller hand in his furry, blue one. Neither of you want to pull away, but you need air after all, silly!
Youâre the first to open your eyes after the kiss, you feel electric static at your fingertips with how purely giddy you are. When his eyes opens and meet your, you grin and fall into a fit of giggles, leaning your head on his chest. Hank, very much confused, sits there. He canât help but laugh along with you, his hand still in yours
ââYou donât regret this, do you?ââ
He asks sincerely as you rest against him
ââGod no, Iâve wanted to kiss you since 1962!ââ
His gaze shoots to yours in pure disbelief
ââReally?!ââ You nod ââreally!ââ You chuckle and sit up. Itâs silent for a few minutes, before you break it
ââSo.. Can I take you out some times, handsome?ââ

I love that Eddie is a craft guy! It just makes so much sense. Do you think he's one of those people who is CONSTANTLY doing a new craft and their house is just littered with Eddie's crafts, and he's always making little hand made gifts for Steve, the party and the band? I can totally imagine Steve coming home and the house just being in total disarray and Eddie's just like "I made a bird table and i personalised all your coffee cups :))"
Eddie Munson and the ADHD urge to start a new project before you finished the last one.
Despite Eddieâs big personality and the joy he gets galivanting across cafeteria tables and award show stages, he is very much a homebody. His favorite places growing up was his bedroom, Garethâs garage, and the drama room where he hosted D&D. Then he went on tour and when the shows were over, he just wanted to be home.
He liked being able to strip away the Eddie Munson persona, sit down, and channel all the ideas in his head into a creative output.
Honestly, making money just made it worse. He can afford shit now.
Steveâs the opposite though.
Steve likes to be out of the house. He was a kid that lived in a big house with parents that never wanted to see or hear him, sometimes year-round sports were the only thing keeping him sane. Once Eddie made it big and was touring, Steve was once again alone in a big empty house and so he found things to do.
He meets up with Robin at least once a week to get dinner and drinks, and sometimes they go dancing or they sing karaoke. Him and Dustin meet up semi-regularly to catch up. He was a part of their neighborhood walking group before Diane annoyed him out of it. He goes bowling with some teachers from work occasionally and takes a pottery class that he sucks at. Him and Max are a part of a trivia team that has only ever succeeded at being the drunkest team in the game.
So, the combination of âSteve is 90% of my impulse control and heâs not here right nowâ and âIf I donât create something, I will dieâ means that sometimes Steve comes home to a new windchime or a questionably made bird house.
Sometimes he comes home to Eddie embroidering one of his jackets by hand even though he bought an embroidery machine that he has never used. Other times, he comes home and Eddie has carved every bar of soap they had into a little fucked-up guy or he found a recorder and wants to play Steve a song.
Or sometimes, Steve returns home from the cooking class heâs taking at their local community center to beads. Beads everywhere.
Beads in the carpet. Beads on the hardwood. Beads in their shoes by the stairs. Beads everywhere.
Steve â who is pretty Type-A about their house being clean and organized because he has a shit memory and needs to be able to find things â very calmly sits aside the ravioli that he made and says, âEddie, what the fuck?â
âI dropped them.â
Steve makes a gesture like âyeah, no shitâ and then just makes a distressed noise, but Eddie waves him off as he dumps a handful of beads into the good punch bowl that they use for parties, âDonât blame me. Your cat tripped me. I nearly brained myself.â
âSheâs only my cat when sheâs bad,â Steve sighs, sitting down to help pick the beads up. âWhy do you have beads anyways? Since when do we have beads?â
âDo you remember those beaded lizard keychains?â Eddie asks, and then when all he got was silence. âIâm going to make you oneâŠafter we pick up two thousand pony beads.â
Steve makes another noise thatâs somewhere between âyouâre causing me actual painâ and âI love you so much it makes me stupidâ and Eddie grins at him. He gestures to the punch bowl and says, âStevie, think about it. Once we fill this bad boy up, we can separate the beads by color. Thatâll be fun, right?â
ââŠYeah, Iâd actually really like that.â

Summary: The rescue of some hostages is complicated by the fact that one of them is the husband of Buckyâs ex-girlfriend; a woman he still hasnât fully let go of.
Length: 4.5 K
Characters: Bucky, Sam, Fury, Thor, Peter Parker, named OFC, named OMC.
Warnings: Buckyâs PTSD, self-blame, memories of sad times.
Author notes: Not a Bucky happy ever after ending but he does experience some personal growth.
The video that Friday showed on the view screens had been verified as real; a school bus full of children on an outing with their teacher and the principal of their school had been hijacked. Although no one had yet claimed responsibility and there was no ransom demand, the perpetrators had sent it to a local TV station with the ominous message that the lives of everyone on that bus was in jeopardy unless the soon to be released demands were met.
â27 children were on that bus,â said Fury. âTheir teacher and their principal were the only adults going with them. It was a field trip to an environmental centre where they were to spend the day learning about pond biology.â
âHas their location been determined?â asked Bucky.
Fury shook his head. âFriday is still working on that. The GPS unit on the school bus was ripped out at the point of interception and left on the side of the road. Overflights of the area have not picked up any sign of them and it is believed the bus may either be indoors or underground. Still, I would like everyone on this mission to be ready to go at a momentâs notice. I will keep you updated as we learn more.â
Everyone stood up and began to file out of the briefing room then Bucky was asked to stay behind. He nodded to Sam and approached Fury who sat on the edge of a table at the front of the room.
âAm I on this mission?â he asked.
âYou are,â replied Fury, âbut there is something you should know first.â He used a remote control to bring up a yearbook picture of the teacher, Travis Dean, an ordinary looking man wearing glasses. âYou know this man?â
âNo, should I?â
âHeâs the husband of Laurie Black.â
Immediately, Buckyâs memories were taken back to two years ago when his relationship with Laurie ended. It hadnât been anything she did; it was all Bucky who was behind the breakup. During a low point in his emotions, he had convinced himself that she deserved better and proceeded to treat her cruelly, convincing her that he didnât love her, didnât need her love or even her friendship. In previous occurrences she had persevered with him, helping him through the destructive emotions but this time he really went overboard. This time, she got the hint and within hours left him for good. As bad as his emotions had been, when he realized she wasnât coming back he sank even deeper into a depression, immersing himself into weeks of isolation and moping.
âIs she aware of the hijacking?â he asked.
âShe is,â answered Fury. âSheâs on her way here and wants to see you.â
As much as he didnât want to, Bucky knew that Fury only told him as a courtesy. She was a private citizen with a stake in the mission. To not see her wasnât an option.
âLet me know when she arrives,â said Bucky. âIâm going to get ready.â
Sam glanced at Bucky when he entered the locker room, wanting to ask why Fury wanted to speak with the man, but his friend beat him to it.
âThe teacher is married to Laurie Black,â he said, in a low voice. âSheâs on her way here before we head out.â
âWhat do you think she wants?â asked Sam.
Bucky didnât answer because he honestly didnât know. Their relationship had been good when he was in a good frame of mind. They supported each other, laughed, loved, and enjoyed being together. It was when he was in low spirits that the problems occurred. Laurie was always supportive, giving him space but also encouraging him to fight the demons still within him. Until the last time, when Bucky went too far. He winced as he remembered the last words he said to her.
âCould you stop smothering me for one goddamn minute? Why do you always think I need to be fixed, huh? Why donât you stick to fixing yourself and leave me alone?â
The look on her face would always stay with him, as her eyes welled up with tears, then she turned away from him and left. Sam had given him a look that said he should go after Laurie but in the mood he was in, Bucky wasnât about to admit he had gone too far. Instead, he left for the roof, wanting to get away from everyone. When he finally came back down several hours later the others were in the common area. He walked in and no one would make eye contact with him, except Sam.
âWhereâs Laurie?â asked Bucky.
âGone.â
âWhat do you mean gone?â He began to panic. âWhere is she?â
âShe packed her bags, dropped off her resignation, ID, and Avengers issued phone and left.â Sam gave him an envelope. âThis is for you.â
He looked at the letter in his hand, then returned to his quarters, finding nothing of her was left behind. Gingerly opening the letter, he read the brief message, then crumpled the paper in one hand before punching a hole in the wall.
That had sent him into a deep spiral of blaming himself for pushing her too far. He found Thorâs stash of Asgardian mead, becoming so drunk that Bruce had to knock him out with a drug cocktail that would take down an elephant. It took weeks before he was declared fit for duty.
âDo you want me there?â asked Sam.
Bucky shook his head. âNo, I gotta do this alone.â
He went to the armoury and picked out his weapons, loading them into his locker on the quinjet. It was another hour before Laurie arrived, and Bucky was summoned to Furyâs office. He could see her head as she sat with her back to the glass wall. Fury watched him impassively as Bucky approached then stood up before he got to the door, meeting Bucky outside his office.
âYou can speak inside. She just wants to see you then sheâs leaving.â
With those words, Fury left, and Bucky entered, taking a chair near her. He noticed right away that she was quite pregnant; a development that made him take his breath in sharply.
âHello Bucky,â said Laurie, not looking at him yet. âI guess this is a surprise to you.â
âWhen are you due?â he asked.
âTwo months,â she answered, looking down at her hands as she crossed them on the mound of her stomach. âI wanted to apologize to you.â
âLaurie, no.â He shook his head and shifted his chair, so he was closer. âYou have nothing to apologize for. I was wrong to expect you to take my shit like that. I was cruel to you, and I knew it. You were right to leave and right to call me out on my behaviour.â
She looked at him, taking in the familiar face; the thick dark hair framing his forehead, with that crease between his eyes. His lashes were still dark, his eyes still that beautiful blue grey shade that made her feel all sorts of things. The sharp cheekbones and defined jaw, with the chin dimple below his soft lips and white teeth were still attractive. The only change in him was the hint of grey in his chin stubble and the underlying sadness in his eyes.
âIt just got to be too much,â she said in a voice barely above a whisper. âI couldnât handle it anymore, Bucky. It hurt too much to hear you say those things to me.â
âI know and Iâm so sorry I took my anger with myself out on you. It took a while before I felt up to it, but I did go for more therapy. Iâm still in it.â
She nodded, then swallowed. âThatâs good. Iâm glad for you. I met Travis about a month after I left you. I was still a mess, still very lost and depressed. He was my friend for a long time before we realized that we had become more.â She patted her belly. âI got pregnant two months after we got married. Weâre both excited for this baby so I want you to promise me that youâll do all you can to bring Travis back to me.â Her voice caught as she pleaded with him. âI canât ⊠I canât raise this baby by myself, Bucky. I need him. I need you to save him.â
It didnât escape him that it could have been him who fathered Laurieâs baby. They had talked about it occasionally, as something to aim for in the future. He knew she wanted a family someday and the thoughts of them married, with her pregnant like this, of being present as his child entered the world, of growing old together with a family had been something to dream about.
That it would be another man making that dream a reality for Laurie would always be something he regretted. The thought of not doing all he could to save her husband never occurred to him. For a moment, he felt insulted that she needed to voice this then he watched as she roughly wiped her tears from her cheeks with her hands. Her eyes were reddened and swollen, making him recognize how afraid she actually was for Travis. She wasnât insulting Bucky; rather she was asking for his help, as an Avenger, as her former lover, and as a man.
âIâll bring him home to you,â he murmured. âI promise.â
âThank you,â she whispered. âI know youâll do your best.â
âDo you have somewhere to stay?â he asked, unsure of where she lived.
Laurie shook her head. âI took the train here, but I was just going to find a motel and wait there. I couldnât wait at home.â
âStay here,â he suggested. âYou wonât be alone.â He looked up then and saw Fury outside the office. âExcuse me for a moment.â
Leaving, he closed the door behind him and stood in front of the director.
âWeâve got a location,â said Fury. âWheelâs up in 5 minutes. Are you two alright?â
Bucky nodded. âYeah. Sheâs afraid for him and wanted my promise to save him. I said she could wait here. Will you watch out for her?â
âOf course. You better get going.â
Quickly, Bucky returned to her and informed her they were ready to go. The only touch between them was him placing his hand on her shoulder and squeezing it. With that as his goodbye, he hurried to the launch pad to board the quinjet. Sam was already in the pilotâs seat with Yelena as copilot. Everyone there nodded to him as he strode up the ramp, taking his place in one of the seats.
By the time they arrived, there had been some developments. The kidnappers had identified themselves and made their demands known. A domestic terrorist group, they wanted some of their own who had been arrested to be released by a certain time. They also demanded $10,000,000 in ransom, payable in Bitcoin, also by a certain time. The hostages would be released only when the payment had been verified. The final part of the demands was displayed, and a collective groan was heard on the quinjet. For every 10 minutes that went past the deadline, a child would be shot in front of their classmates, on a live video broadcast on the internet. The final victims would be the teacher and the principal, forced to watch the slaughter of the innocent lives placed in their care.
When they exited the quinjet the Avengers were met with a contingent of several different agencies; local police, FBI, and military. They wanted to attack the location as a combined force.
âYouâll force their hand,â said Sam. âTheyâll start executing some of those kids right away. Are you willing to take that chance? Let us infiltrate the premises. We know what weâre doing.â
They were given one hour to accomplish the task before the highest-ranking officer on site took command. Sam did his best to get more time, but the message was clear. The Avengers would get their shot, then it would be everyone elseâs turn. He could hear Furyâs voice in his comms piece to take the offer. As he and Joaquin took up their aerial positions and scanned the interior of the building with their specialized infra-red capabilities, Bucky led the others inside. Splitting up into two groups they followed directions given them by either of the two flyers.
âHold on,â said Sam, suddenly, at the 15-minute mark. âSomethingâs going on. One of the adults fought back and ran in the opposite direction. With the distraction, the other is leading most of the kids down an alternative route and theyâre not being followed. Joaquin, blow a hole in that side of the building and give them an exit route. Team Bravo, follow his directions to support them on their six.â
âHow many kids are left, Sam?â asked Bucky, leading Team Alpha.
âThree, straight ahead at the end of the corridor youâre in,â he stated. âYou need to hurry. They caught him and are laying a beating on the guy while keeping their guns on the kids.â
With Samâs description of where the gunmen were located, Bucky sent Scott and Hope into the ventilation system, waiting for their signal that they were in the room. Their task was to protect the kids, enlarging their bodies enough to shield them from any firing. Bucky, Yelena, and Shaun positioned themselves at the door then Sam sent a small rocket into the corner of the roof away from the kids to distract the terrorists. Kicking the door down, the three of them made quick work of the five men inside.
âHostages secure,â said Bucky as he approached the man on the ground who had been beaten. He wasnât a big man or terribly muscular, but he had impressed Bucky with his bravery. âNeed a medic, ASAP.â
Kneeling, he touched the manâs neck to confirm he was still alive. His eyes opened but he couldnât focus, and he blinked his eyes several times. Even without his glasses, Bucky recognized him.
âThe kids are safe?â he croaked.
âYeah, theyâre okay,â said Bucky, then he gently put his hand on him when the man tried to get up. âDonât move. Let the medics check you out first. Whatâs your name?â
âTravis,â he murmured. âThey took my glasses. Canât see too well without them.â
This was the man who helped Laurie after Bucky chased her away and he had just saved most of the kids by putting up a fight. Bucky swallowed then patted him on the chest.
âYou did good, Travis,â said Bucky. âYou put yourself on the line for those kids. Theyâre alive because of you.â
The medics arrived and took over from Bucky, assessing Travisâ injuries. Several FBI agents came with them, taking the other children out. The other Avengers entered the space, confirming that all the other hostages were safe and being readied for evacuation.
âWeâre just waiting on the teacherâs status,â said Sam, to their inquiries. âThen weâll help him out to be evacuated.â
âNo, he comes back with us,â interrupted Bucky. âHis wife is waiting at the compound for him. They took his glasses. Can we find them for him?â
Sam looked at his partner, suddenly understanding who the beaten man was. âYeah, we can go looking for them.â
He herded everyone out then followed them, leaving Bucky and the medics there. The latter seemed satisfied that Travis hadnât sustained any serious injuries and gave their okay for him to sit up and stand. Bucky assured the medics the man was in safe hands, and they left. Pulling two chairs over, Bucky offered one to Travis then sat in the other.
âYouâre an Avenger?â asked the other man. âWhatâs your name?â
âBucky Barnes,â he replied, noticing Travisâ reaction. âYouâre Laurieâs husband.â
âYeah.â There was a long pause. âShe came to see you, didnât she?â
Bucky nodded, then remembered Travis couldnât see much without his glasses. âYeah, she did. She asked me to make sure you made it back safely. I promised her.â
Neither spoke for some time then Travis swallowed. âShe was really hurting when I met her. By what she told me I figured it was a severe PTSD episode that made you say what you did to her. It took her a long time to get over it and forgive you. Are you better?â
âI am, thank you.â Bucky sighed. âShe always came back when I did that to her. Guess I took it for granted that she would that time as well. When she didnât come back, I didnât handle it well and it took me a while to accept that I sent away the only woman who had put up with my shit. Iâm glad she found you. She loves you very much. It was obvious.â
âShe loved you, too. Thatâs why it took her so long to get over you.â
âFound them,â said Peter, as he walked in the door. âOne lens is cracked but you should âŠ.â He noticed the look each man gave him and wondered if he had interrupted something important. âHere, Mr. Dean. The kids all asked if you were okay. They said you and the principal tried your best to protect them.â
âThanks,â said Travis, as he put his glasses on and noticed it was Spider-Man who handed them to him. âIâm surprised they didnât keep you with them. Theyâre big fans of yours.â
Peter, whose mask was off, blushed. âI promised to come to your school one day. If thatâs okay.â
âThatâs great, thank you,â said Travis, standing up. He moved then held his side. âThat hurts.â
âTake your time,â said Bucky. âWeâll get you to Laurie.â
With a nod, Travis began walking to the exit, followed by the two Avengers. Before he exited the building, Peter put his mask back on, still reluctant to show his face in public, even though they knew who he was. Together they came out to an onslaught of media people, shouting out Travisâ name. The principal and kids had already told them of how he fought against the terrorists, giving them the opportunity to get most of them away from harm, calling him a hero. He was reluctant to accept that title, gesturing to the others as the real heroes.
Bucky waited patiently, then Sam intervened saying that Travisâ wife was waiting at their compound for her husband, and they wanted to reunite the couple. Only then did they manage to pull away from the almost overwhelming attention. In the quinjet, Travis looked at everyone with a little bit of awe until Thor, who had led team Bravo looked right back at him.
âWhat is it you see when you look at us, Mr. Dean?â
âHeroes,â replied Travis. âAll of you do this all the time, without hesitation.â
âYou are also a hero,â said Thor. âYou teach but, on this trip, you accepted the necessity of putting yourself in danger so that the children would be safe. There was no preparation or hesitation, it was instinctual, which means that you are as heroic as the world sees us.â
As he looked at the others, he saw the same sentiment expressed on their faces. When he looked at Bucky the latter bowed his head briefly to him then smiled.
âThank you,â said Travis.
He said nothing after that, just sat with his hands clasped together as he leaned over and rested his arms on his knees. The others went back to talking amongst themselves, but Bucky watched the teacher, as the enormity of what happened to him began to manifest itself. It was a delayed reaction, and he noticed that Travis bit his lip and swallowed noticeably several times. The man was struggling. Bucky stood up, put his hand on Travisâ shoulder and gestured towards the back, where the cargo hold was. The other man looked fearfully at him for a moment, but the super soldier looked kindly at him.
âYou can have some privacy back there,â he murmured, adjusting his voice so that only Travis heard him.
A look of relief crossed the manâs features, and he stood up, following Bucky. Sam watched, grimly smiling, knowing that Bucky was well tuned to when someone was on the edge. As the two men entered the tight space, Bucky gestured to a crate. He leaned against the wall.
âEven now, there are times I come back here to deal with the terror I still feel in my gut,â he said to the teacher.
âBut, you do this all the time,â replied Travis, sitting. âArenât you used to it?â
The dark-haired super soldier shook his head. âNo, Iâve never become used to it. Itâs what I know and with my abilities, this job is what Iâm good at, but Iâm not used to it. It eats away at me and builds up to a point where I can lash out at people, like I did to Laurie. I was too macho then to talk to a professional or allow myself to cry the fear out. In my mind, suffering was normal until I lost the one person who I envisioned having a future with.â
âLaurie,â stated Travis. He gave out a tortured breath. âIâm feeling overwhelmed right now. What the hell was I thinking? I mean, look at me. Iâm not special like the rest of you but all I felt was the need to do something, anything, to get those kids out. When they started beating me, I thought I was going to die, and that I would never see Laurie again, or see our son grow up. I was so stupid.â
âNot stupid. Protective, and thatâs something youâre going to need when that little boy is born. Heâs going to need a father he can look up to, and trust to protect him and his mom. Youâve proven that today. But you are feeling the terror right now, arenât you?â Travis nodded. âOne of my coping strategies these days is to come back here and let it all out. I cry like a baby and let all that negative emotion flow out of me like a river. I leave it behind. Thatâs what you have to do right now. When you get back, talk to a professional and donât hold back. Theyâre trained to deal with it objectively.â He looked at his watch. âWe have about an hour before we land. Use it.â
He turned to leave.
âBucky?â The super soldier looked at Travis. âWhy are you doing this for me?â
âBecause you love her and make her happy in a way I couldnât. She deserves happy.â
With a quick nod of his head, Bucky left the man to deal with the emotions he knew all too well. Travis came out of the cargo hold shortly before they landed, his eyes red but seeming calmer. As the ramp lowered, they could all see Laurie waiting with Fury for Travis to exit, so they let him off first, smiling as he wrapped his arms around his wife. He winced at her hugs but accepted her quick assessment of his health before they went up to the medical centre for a more intensive examination. Bucky hung back, standing next to Fury, as the others dispersed to drop off their weapons, shower, and change. They would have a debrief in a few hours.
âYou, okay?â asked Fury.
âNo.â Buckyâs answer was terse, and his look was anything but relaxed.
âGo see Dr. Hoyle,â suggested Fury, referring to their onsite psychologist, knowing that Bucky needed to speak to someone about this mission. âJust get the edge off.â
âIs that an order?â
âNo, but I expect you to do it. Sheâs already waiting for you.â
With a sigh Bucky went straight there. The suggestion from Fury was more of an attempt to stave off an outburst or even a meltdown. Dr. Hoyle was in her outer office, speaking with the receptionist when Bucky arrived, still in his tactical suit. Leading him into her office, she sat in her chair, gesturing to him to sit. She didnât say anything, waiting for him to initiate the conversation, finding it was better that way. After a good ten minutes of silence, Bucky leaned forward and rubbed his face.
âI have to amend my goals,â he said, quietly.
âOkay, which part?â she asked.
âGetting Laurie back is off the table. She moved on, got married, and is expecting her first child. Her husband is a good man. I might be many things, but I donât interfere in someoneâs marriage.â
âHow do you feel about coming to that decision?â
He sat back, looking out the window at nothing in particular. Then he breathed out heavily through his nose.
âLike Iâm back at square one.â He looked at her. âItâs hard. I first came to you because I wanted to be good enough for her but thatâs not how it works, does it?â Hoyleâs face remained impassive. âI have to do it for myself, first.â He rubbed his face with his hands. âI just wish that it felt like I was making progress.â
âYou think this is a setback?â
âYeah, isnât it?â She didnât answer and he sighed, as she was obviously expecting him to figure it out on his own. âI guess part of me thought if I didnât get her back then I deserved to be alone. By focusing on her I shut myself off to other possibilities, didnât I?â Hoyle smiled kindly. âBy letting her go I can finally move on and maybe make real progress. It still hurts.â
âYeah, thatâs the lousy part,â she smiled. Buckyâs cell phone beeped. âYou can check that if you want.â
He looked at it. âShe wants to say goodbye to me. Thatâs part of closure, isnât it?â Hoyle nodded. âAre you alright if I go?â
âSure,â she said. âIâll see you for your regular session, alright?â
He nodded, leaving through the exit door. As he approached the lobby area, and the small crowd that had gathered to say goodbye to Laurie and Travis, he noticed how they held hands with each other. They were happy together, and for that he was glad. She noticed him first, smiling warmly at him. He shook hands with Travis, then looked fondly at Laurie.
âTake care of yourself and your family,â he said, sincerely. âI wish only the best for you.â
âThank you, for everything,â she replied. âI hope you find happiness someday. You are a good man, Bucky. You deserve it.â
Their driver opened the back door of the vehicle, and the couple moved towards it. They both raised their hands in farewell then got inside. The others returned to the building as the vehicle drove away, but Bucky watched until he couldnât see it anymore.
âGoodbye,â he whispered.

Always See Your Face
Chapter 3
Previous chapter here
Summary: Eddie has come to a striking revelation

A/N: Sorry this took so long and its kinda short! I hope you like it :')
--
Eddieâs jaw dropped. Never in his life had he seen a girl throw a punch at a guy much less right in front of him. This girl had more balls than anyone in Hellfire did.Â
"What the fuck, bitch!"
âWhatâs going on?â
An authority figure yelled from across the lunch room. Whether it was a teacher, faculty member, or parent, Eddie knew she was in for it with punching a football player. Eddie peeked up at her through his bangs and she didnât look like she did earlier at the lunch table. She was frightened. He didnât know someone like her could get scared even though he had only known her for a couple of minutes now. Hell, he didnât even know her name. However, she didnât seem like the damsel in distress type. Seeing her like this made his heart ache. He couldnât stand to see her like that.
Eddie promptly took her hand and escorted her to the courtyard while the football player stumbled his way up and toward the teacher heading his way. Eddie would take the blame for her. He knew the teacher would be on the side of the senior who hadnât repeated his last year of high school several times rather than Eddie, that was no question. If he were to blame her, they may yell at her for bending over the table and wearing a short skirt. It made Eddie sick how pieces of shit like that got away with being shitty. She didnât deserve to be scrutinized by anyone after being harassed.Â
He stumbled over his own feet while pacing to the park bench in the nearby woods next to the cafeteria, his prime drug dealing spot. He was in such a hurry to escape the madness of the lunch room that he didnât even know how she felt to be swept away like this. What if she hated him for it? What if she wanted to explain herself to the teacher?
He reluctantly turned to face her. She looked up at him with bright eyes filled with surprise. She seemed so much smaller now that Eddie was standing. She had presented herself as Eddie did but it was all a facade. It was a way to frighten people off so they wouldnât get too close. Of course, he loved each and every single band tee and patch he wore but he also enjoyed the amount of people who were nervous around him at school because of these bands. He knew he would never have to worry about getting his feelings hurt if he didnât let anyone in.
Eddie gestured to the bench and she sat down.
âThank you for that. I didnât know what he was going to do to me after I hit him. Probably best I donât find out.âÂ
âI wonât let him do anything to you, I promise.â
A smile crept onto her lips and a warm blush spread across her cheeks. Eddie choked. He just met this girl and he was in this deep? He couldnât look at her without being an awkward dweb like his friends were. He shook his head, he had to think straight.
âIs your hand okay?âÂ
Her knuckles were a rosy red, and she clenched her fist as if in pain.
âHis face was harder than I thought.â
Eddie moved down on his knees, the fall leaves caressing his jeans. He took her bruised hand in his and stroked his thumb over each knuckle. Her skin was so soft even though she had just punched someone. He wondered if the skin on her hands was as soft as other parts of her. Fuck! What was he doing?! He grabbed her hand without even asking. He looked up to seek a sign of approval from her.
Her face was like Garretâs when her chest touched his arm. She was beet red in the face and her body was as stiff as a board. So she was real. She wasnât just an idea. She had blood rushing through her veins and she felt what he felt. Eddieâs heart began to race and fear started to creep into him.
She was everything. She was a walking, talking angel who could break his heart with the touch of her hand. Should he even take the chance? What if she hurts him? What if she hurts his friends?
Those eyes wouldnât hurt a fly. He was fucked. He didnât used to believe in love at first sight but he did now.

This is my third time in your inbox, I'm so sorry đđ
Can we get more insight on Konigs childhood? You mentioned abuse from his father. What exactly did he do to Konig and his mother? Why did he cut his face up? Why did his mother not leave him? Where are his parents now? Was his childhood the reason he joined the military? Will he fully open up to the reader abt it?
Ty for tolerating me đđđŸ
Please. My inbox is always, always open and I love these questions! (Like... someone wants to hear my ramblings about mentally unstable, fictional men?? You are godsend, my friend đ)
Thoughts on König's childhood:
CW/TW: emotional, verbal & physical abuse, talk of personality disorders (by someone who is not a psychologist lmao), aggravated assault/murder, self-hate
So, I wrote König as a sociopath (otherwise known as antisocial personality disorder) with borderline pd. He's also neurodivergent (prob. ADHD). Now I don't know shit about these things but I tried my best to do some research on different pds and neurodiversity and thought this potpourri might fit well in König's character profile.
Unlike psychopaths, sociopaths are made, not born. So his dad had a definite hand in creating one out of König. He thought his only son (K is an only child in my canon) was a freak because he was bigger than "normal" kids, tall and lithe and on top of everything else, behaved oddly. König was bullied at school which made him even more asocial and anxious, which in turn made his dad project his own insecurities onto König even more. He needed to imprint it on König that he's a freak by cutting him.
There was a strict routine and order in his childhood home: dinner was to be served at 6'o clock sharp, every piece of clothing had to be pedantically ironed, no tv past seven, etc. Any misstep on these rules and there would be violence, mainly verbal and emotional but at times, physical too. König's mother was never enough, nothing she did was ever enough. König for sure did everything wrong by simply existing. For a boy of his size, he learned to become surprisingly invisible at a very young age.
Sometime during his teenage years, he started to have enough. He started to rebel, learned how to walk tall and straight, started to jog and train inside his room, do 100 pushups every morning. The idea of joining the army was born during these times as well, and becoming a sniper was soon König's biggest dream.
He enjoyed when his schoolmates, even some of the teachers, began to fear him (if you cannot be loved, better be feared than ridiculed). He was the odd, silent, big freak who was only getting odder, bigger and more silent every day. People at school literally feared the day König would arrive at class with a gun.
His father started to cut him even more when he began to show signs of independence and grit. At some point König realized he could easily beat his own dad if he wanted to. At 15 he started to go to the gym, and a year after, when he saw his father yell at his mom about something utterly insignificant, he finally snapped, took a simple kitchen knife and drove it to daddy's ribs (16 times).
His mother had a tiny mental breakdown after that. She didn't want her child to get into trouble, but seeing such a violent murder was the last straw for a woman who had tried to keep the peace by playing by this crazy tyrant's rules. The reason she hadn't left was because she feared he might kill them both. (Also the breakdown was far more severe than the one reader had after the break room incident, and it def. brought back some not so fond memories)
König got the minimum penalty for the crime because he was a juvenile offender. His mother forgave her child quite soon and deemed that her husband was evil and that König did the right thing for freeing them from such a man.
Things got better after that, but his mother was forever damaged from everything that had happened. She began to blame herself for not divorcing her husband sooner, for then he would still be alive and König wouldn't have suffered so much in his hands. One of the reasons König started to wear the hood was because he didn't want to remind his mother of what had been done to him. Instead, the mask only caused her only more pain. She started to avoid her own child, even fear him, feeding into König's insecurities and anxiety even more.
When König finally joined the army at the age of 17, it was to get away from home and pursue his dreams to become a sniper. He thought it might be best for his mother, too, if he wasn't around the house to remind her what had gone down and how her only child was not only a monster, but a murderer, too.
König's childhood is so filled with trauma that he has pretty much distanced himself from it. The geographical distance helps too, and he's not keen on taking reader on a vacation to Austria, for example. But he will open up about his past if and when he sees it's safe to do so. Sadly enough, the thing that bugs him the most about it is he fears he might look weak in reader's eyes. He's been in a survival mode for so long that he doesn't quite understand that he was a child at the time, and should've received love and care.
Btw I totally got inspired by @random-thot-generator 's gospel truth on how König's first kill was his own father! Also the Conan t-shirt as his (first) mask is my canon now

Bullies
Masterlist
Prompt List
Sumary: You are a shapeshifter and are Dick's K9 partner. When at 'work', you take the form of a large pure black Germanshepard named Shadow. You make sure that you don't use that particular form when you are on a mission, though, just to make sure nobody puts two and two together.
You and Dick have been friends since Bruce took him in and have been dating for 5 years now, and like him, you have become fiercely protective of his little brothers....
Ages:
Dick: 21
Y/N : 20
Jason: 17
Tim: 13
Damian: 10
--------------------------------------------
Damians P.O.V
I am currently sitting in the back seat of the car with my hood up, hidding my face from Pennyworth while he gives me descreate yet concerned looks from the drivers seat. Drake was not at school today because of a head injury from patrol last night.
Why is my hood up, you may ask?
Because I have a black eye and a busted lip....but it really wasn't my fault.
The truth is that ever since I came to this school a couple of months ago, I have been bullied by not just other students but the teachers as well. They tell me things like,' How did you convince Bruce Wayne that you're his kid?' and 'You're just another charity case that no one really wants around.'
It hurts but I pretend that it doesn't bother me. I pretend that it doesn't make me wander if those words are true. 'Do they not want me around?'
I mean sometimes I can be a jerk especially to Drake and sometimes Todd but I really do care for them like brothers.
But those are not the worst. The worst is when the racist teacher say horrible things to me because I am Arab. They blame me for things that I have not done and tell me that I do not belong in my family. Those hurt the most.
Nobody in my family knows this of course. I don't believe that they would even care.
--------------------------------------------
When we get home, I notice the police car and the extra bike. All my brothers, as well as Y/N, Graysons girlfriend whom I think of as my sister, are here.
Great.....
I walk in and head straight to my room, ignoring the chatter that I could hear from the living room.
I curled up on my bed after taking a quick shower and changing into sweatpants and a black t-shirt and hoodie.
I had silent tears running down my face when I heard a soft knock on my door. I furriously wiped them away, but they did not stop. I didn't answer the knock, though.
"Dami? Are you ok?"
'Y/N' I thought
" Comon Lil'D, can I at least come in and say hello to my favorite Wayne child?" She asked softly through the door.
I was tempted just to ignore her, but she would probably just come in eventually. I sighed softly and got up slowly, trudging to the door and opening it. Turning away from her before she could see my face.
I curled up on my bed again and refused to look at her.
"Dami what's wrong buddy?"
She came over and sat next to me. Running her fingers through my hair softly. I sighed and turned to look at her. She gasped softly and gently touched my black eye and then my slightly swollen and split lip.
"What happened, Baby Bat? And don't lie to me. I know those are NOT from patrol last night."
I let out a defeated sigh, and the danm broke. I told her about everything. The bullying, my feelings, everything.
When I finished my story, I was crying again, and she looked torn for a moment. Torn between killing those who hurt me and making me feel better.
She seemed to make a decision after a few minutes and gently scooped me up. I squeaked but clung to her tightly.
She stormed downstairs and into the living room where my brothers and father were chatting. She stopped in the doorway, catching the attention of everybody in the room. When they saw me, they looked concerned. She then looked down at me and started speaking in a soft tone:
"Look at your dad and your brothers Dami. Not one of them look the same. They look similar, yes, but not the same. That is what makes each and every one of you boys unique. Not one of you is the same. Each of you has a different personality, different traits that make you special. That's what makes you, you. You belong in this family just as much as any of them do. You deserve the love and support of your family. You ARE NOT just a charity case to your dad. Or to your brothers. They all love. They don't always show it, but they do. We all love you."
"N/N's rigjt Baby Bat, we all love you." Grayson said softly as he walked up to us. Being the first to snap out of the shock.
There was a combination of affirmative words from the other three in the room before I was gently placed in my fathers lap. I snuggled closer to his chest when I felt his strong arms wrap tightly yet gently around me.
I looked over to see Y/N grab one of Todds guns out of its hiding places and start to walk towards the door. She stopped and turned in the door, raising an eyebrow.
"You boys gonna sit there, or are you gonna help me commit a couple murders?" She asked in a dangerously sweet and calm voice. I was surprised when all three of my brothers jumped up and followed her out of the room.
"I'll get my lawyers working on it and will go see the school tomorrow." My father yelled after them as he tightened his arms around me and got up to go to his office with me in his arms. All he got in response was the slam of the front door. I just snuggled deeper into my fathers chest, feeling safe.
Perhaps I was wrong. Perhaps they really do care for me.

Corey Curse Aftermath Pt 9
Small time skip, like 3 days*
As the anti-bullying classes went on, everybody but Alya seemed to understand exactly what impact they had on Marinette. Almost all of them rebuilt tentative if not profound friendships with her once more, All except for Alya, who still doted on Lila. But that all changed at the parent teacher meeting Miss Fournier hosted. Everyoneâs parents except Lilaâs showed up. âAre we waiting on anyone?â Miss Fournier began, and noticed Lilaâs mother was nowhere to be seen. Then, suddenly, a tall, green eyed brunette woman that looked to be in her 40s stormed through the door. âLila Rossi. Why is this the first Iâm hearing about bullying? You told me the court case was about all your vacation days?â the woman, who was presumably Lilaâs mother, yelled. Lilaâs eyes widened in response. âMom? I made sure to throw that letter away_â she was cut off by her mother âYes, and I found it in the trash. Imagine my surprise when I found out my daughter has been bullying a poor girl for this entire year!â she continued yelling, and Mr Damocles had to quite literally usher them out of the building. Needless to say, that was the last they saw of her. âFor most of you, this meeting will be brief. As you know from the emails I have sent, most of your children have improved greatly due to the anti-bullying classes, especially Nino, Kim and Alix. Therefore, they are being dismissed from them early, and will no longer have to attend. Juleka, Rose and Nathaniel will also be dismissed from them once the week is over. For the rest of your children, keep working hard and they should hopefully be dismissed by the end of two weeks. You are free to go.â she stated, and everyone slowly began filing out, but Miss Fournier spoke up again. âMrs and Miss Cesaire, do you mind waiting for a moment please?â They nodded as everyone left and the room was only with Alya, Alyaâs mom and Nora. âI regret to inform you that Alya is not doing well in these classes at all. She refuses to believe Marinette is innocent and blames it on her, as well as consistently torments the other students who have now built relationships with Marinette.â Alya turned pale as her sister and mother turned to her in anger. âAlya Cesaire, care to explain?â her mother thundered. âMom, I can explain-â she was cut off by Nora. âSis, there is no way you believe a liar over your best friend-â âSheâs not my best friend.â
âAnyway, she sacrificed a lot for you. She babysat for you, helped you with the ladyblog, hell she got interviews from ladybug herself or you. How can you honestly say that she had done horrible things?â
Alyaâs jaw dropped in shock as Noraâs words ran through her mind. Barely thinking, she ran out of the room, looking for those familiar blue pigtails- no, just blue hair. She spotted it and ran towards her, before stopping short as she stared. Marinette was laughing, with Adrien. Not stuttering, or falling, just having a good time. Her hair was out, her nose was scrunched up, her eyes twinkling. She looked so happy, soâŠfree. She felt so scarily familiar but different at the same time, like she was a ghost of her past self. As Adrien walked away, she shook off her inhibitions and walked to her. âMarinette-â She was interrupted by her. âIf youâve come to insult me-â Alya flinched at the fact that now, as soon as she approached Marinette, the bluenette assumed it was to insult her. âN-no. I want to apologise. You donât have to forgive me. Hell, the fact that you are listening to me is enough. But I need you to know that Iâm sorry, for everything that I did to you.â Marinette gaped slightly. âAlya, you have no idea how much that means to me. I-I canât accept your apology. Not yet. But, this is a start. To peace and maybeâŠâ she trailed off. âMaybe a new friendship.â Alya filled in, and Marinette smiled, and it felt so nice, so normal that she smiled even wider. âYou know what, let's restart this whole thing.â she said, then stuck out her hand. âHi, Iâm Marinette Dupain Cheng. I live down the street in the bakery and have a massive crush on Adrien but donât know it yet.â Alya laughed before taking her hand. âNice to meet you. Iâm Alya Cesaire, I run the Ladyblog and am one of the worst best friends ever.â she said, almost half sad, but Marinette pulled her into a hug. âOh good. Thatâs what I like about you.â They laughed, just like old times, the achingly familiar feeling as if to forget what happened. And while it would never truly be forgotten, maybe, just maybe, it could be overlooked.

'DON'T BLAME ME, [PART TEN]
-GOTHAM!JERVIS TETCH X READER-
â đđđđđđđđ ; Reader remembers why Jervis captivates her. Jervis remembers why he has a soft spot for her.
â tags/warnings. GOTHAM!jervis x female reader. SLOW BURN!!! Not sure how many chapters this will be yet! LOTS OF PLOT SET-UP!! AGE GAP ROMANCE! (reader is Jim and Barbara's daughter) Jervis being a horrible teacher. The slow burn is slow burning. She fell first, he fell harder. (Guys, he's falling harder!!!) Soft Jervis. Jim and Barbara are probably tweaking out somewhere. Writing this kind of artistically and as character studies for everyone. Why are they in there friends to lovers era rn. I'm taking canon out back and beating it with a stick until it stops twitching.
â tag list (tell me if you want to be removed!) @adalwolfgang @jervis-tetch-my-beloved @honestmrdual @moonlightnyx @all-things-fandomstuck @killingboredom @sweetlimeharvest @frenchfryqueen69

â« âBaby, am I your little secret? I'm old enough to keep it.â Older by Isabel LaRosa
You're not sure when you two fell asleep, or if Jervis even did.
He still needed to wash the cuts and warm water helps the ache. You watched him settle himself into the bath water, or rather, turned around and covered your eyes for his privacy. You couldn't see the absolutely flustered expression on his face.
Ever since his hypnotism, your wound has only been mildly painful, every now and then twisting. Turns out, Mr. Tetch's hypnotism is a much better alternative then pain killers. He seems to detest the idea of you putting any drug in your body. Weird.
You settled yourself into a guest bedroom in the mansion, becoming familiar to your new surroundings. It looks more like a nursery for rich people. You weren't entirely sure how long you were going to stay with Mr. Tetch. This could take months.
You were going to learn hypnotism, from the guy who tried to kill your dad, to kill your dad. Huh.
Well, that's not exactly true. You don't know if you want to kill him. You just need him to hurt in the same way you hurt.
That idea puts you calmly to sleep.
You wake up the latest you've woken up in years. Typically your dad would wake you up at an ungodly hour, and you're not sure Barbara even has a bedroom for you to stay in. She falls asleep at her desk in the club half the time.
It reads 11:00 AM on the clock next to you. Damn. Mr. Tetch let you sleep in.
You look at your clothes to find the hospital gown still on you. You must've forget to change last night. There was...a lot to deal with.
You rummage through the drawers and closet. For a guest bedroom, it's got a wild selection of clothes. All female. All petite. An old teenage daughter of the couple must've abandoned this room. You're thanking your lucky stars. It's perfect.
Discarding the hospital gown, you scan through the garments. Pink shirts, jeans, rings and necklaces. You pause when you see it.
In all it's glory, hangs a baby blue dress. Mysteriously lolita-esque, white lace decorating the sweetheart neckline. You want to laugh. The irony. Mr. Tetch does remind you of the Mad Hatter. Alice and her dress....
You sigh as you put it on with a pair of thigh highs. It's too good not too, and provoking Mr. Tetch seems to be your favorite past time as of late.
Coming down the stairs, you smell the sweet scent of pastries and tea. Is he...cooking? He never stops being interesting.
"Another tea party?" You question, stepping into the kitchen. "The last one didn't end too well for me."
You watch as he turns to look at you. At first he goes to sneer at the jab, before he fully intakes your image.
He stands rooted in the ground, staggered, and utterly taken aback. You hear the sharp and small exhale of breath he releases. His eyes scan you over, widened, and his mouth gets dry underneath your gaze.
He looks at you with complete and total fascination. You feel your own breath catch and your cheeks burn. You can't but feel satisfied at startling the showman time and time again. The way he looks at you now is different though. Like he was just reminded of a part of him he didn't know was missing. Like he just found it again.
The timer of the oven breaks your silence. You avert your gaze from his, but he doesn't. He keeps his eyes firmly on you. You start to feel your body heat up.
"Those are going to burn." You say, swallowing, looking at the biscuits. He blinks at you, expression soft. He cocks his head, and without a word, turns back around. You sit down at the dining table.
As the timer beeps, he takes out the biscuits, perfectly golden brown. It takes him a moment before he takes his seat parallel to you. He's silent for a moment, just studying you. His voice comes out in a shaky breath.
"You look...magnificent, I must say." He clears his throat, complimenting you.
"You don't look so bad yourself, showman." You whisper, sending him a smirk. There it is. That jolt of electricity from his eyes on you. The same feeling of seeing him for the first time in the club. Before it all went to shit.
It's not so bad though. You think. It could be a lot worse. At least It's Mr. Tetch and not some other insane freak in Gotham. Mr. Tetch is gentlemanly. He's...nice. When he isn't trying to kill you or your father, or taunting you into oblivion.
He offers you a smile at your own compliment. You see his entire face beam. His voice is soft, yet sharp when needed. He seems to be more sincere, genuine. For the first time, you see the real him. Not the charismatic exterior. He's like a puppy, wagging his tail at your praise. He leans back in his chair.
"Hypnotize me." He says, bluntly. You almost choke.
"What? How?"
He pulls out his oh-so-very-precious pocket watch, and his gloved hand gives it to you with care. You marvel at the item.
He leans forward slightly and watches you take the pocket watch, his eyes sparkling with intrigue. He's enjoying this. A LOT. He crosses his arms and waits patiently for you to continue.
You rack your brain for what to say. You think about what Mr. Tetch says. Okay. Okay. Okay. You got this.
"Look into my eyes. Not above them, not around them, but deep into their center." You try to repeat his exact words back to him, watching as his eyes never stray from yours.
You want to utter another command, but you can't get the words off your tongue. The two of you just stare at each other in silence, letting the light from the blinds peak in. You hear yourself breathing, and see that shit-eating smirk of his on his face. You feel mutually scrutinized...and aroused.
Aroused? No. You can't be aroused. This guy shot you. All this is, it's just fascination! And a partnership for revenge!
Still, that jolt of electricity only grows. You notice the way his lip curls, and he notices the way your big, almost innocent eyes look up at him.
"Mr. Tetch..." You murmur the name out beside yourself. At this, his eyebrows furrow, voice still soft.
"...Yes?" His head cocks, awaiting your command.
"Are you hypnotized?" You ask, and at this, he lets out a chuckle.
"No, dear. And, if I may, that was truly a ghastly attempt."
Ah, and he's ruined the moment.
You groan into your hands as he chuckles, smug.
"Do not fret, my dear. Do you recall when I hypnotized your father? He was truly a bawling mess, wanting nothing more than to end his miserable life." His tone is gentle, and he speaks the words so casually, but there's left over venom in his voice.
"What's your point?" The volume to your voice raises. You don't want to be reminded of your fathers oversights right now.
"My point, Y/N," He clicks his tongue at your hostility, "Is that hypnotism is something intimate. It allows you to reach the deepest, darkest depths of a man."
"You want me to reach the deepest, darkest depths of you?" You ask, raising an eyebrow with a bit of a smirk. He sputters.
"No! That's- that's certainly not what I meant!" He sends you an expression of disapproval, like a teacher scolding a child for telling a joke during class. But his face is just as red as yours was earlier. He huffs. "You need to feel that intimacy. That darkness. Channel it."
You listen to his notes intently. There truly is something about him that's startingly perfect. You can't quite place your finger on it. But you notice how his smiles seem to be less saccharine, more genuine. You notice how his eyes never quite leave yours, or how your hands fidget under the table.
There were many hypnotism attempts that day. Most of them just ended in staring contests.

Middle of the Nightđ(Part 1)// J.T.K
Pairing ; Jake Kiszka x reader
series
Trope - Friends to Lovers (slow burn with angst)
A/N; I had the idea so i'm doing it... also I'm a college student and will try and update as much as I can !!
Warnings: Alcohol consumption (that's all I can think of)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You've been best friends with the twins since second grade. Josh had sat with you inside during recess because you had forgotten your homework at home; he had actually gotten himself in trouble by talking back to the teacher and swears that he did it on purpose. "No one should be punished for an honest mistake, she was being ridiculous!" and a beautiful friendship had bloomed.
It feels like that was just yesterday, and all of a sudden you were getting ready to graduate. Twins still by your side along with their siblings and his youngest brothers best friend Daniel.
Currently sitting in the Kiszka's backyard beside the fire. As a "Last Hoorah" Josh said when he presented the idea.
"How does it feel knowing Monday you will officially be done with the grand 'Frankenmuth High'" Sam questioned with a huff taking the seat next to you. Arm slung around your shoulders drink in the other hand alcohol very apparent on his breath. "All I have to say is good riddance" you reply slight giggle while you slightly lean into him to keep him steady.Â
"Awh come on sunshine, it wasn't all that bad" Josh jokes standing in front of you two. "yeah yeah Joshua, now if I can be excused I want another drink" You say holding up an empty cup "Come on love, you can't leave me" Sam groans reaching out to you as you got up, you had a hunch he has a crush on you, it's very sweet but Sam is a heavy flirt, all the Kiszka boy's are. "Let the poor girl be Sam" Josh steps in sitting next to Sam. "I'll wait for you my love!" Sam dramatically shouts for everyone in a 5 mile radius to hear. You giggle walking past a group of people sitting around Jake, sharing stories of the year.
The relationship you had with Jake was different from Josh and Sam. Recently it's taken a turn for the worse. There's been some weird tension that came out of nowhere. He doesn't call you by any of the sweet nicknames him and his twin had given you growing up, any sort of physical touch gone, even glances your way during class that turned into making stupid faces from across the room trying to make the other person laugh had disappeared. You had decided to distance yourself from him, assuming he had a girlfriend and didn't want to cross an boundaries, which you respected but also thought he cared enough to acknowledge your existence or give an explanation.
Making your way into the kitchen to make another drink and grab Sam a bottle of water, you hear the back door open and close, choosing to ignore whoever just came in a continue with your drink.
"Sammy boy is really putting the moves there on ya" you hear from behind you, recognizing the voice as Jake's you tense up a bit. "He sure is, everyone in a 5 mile radius can hear him" he chuckles and comes to stand by you. "Can't blame the kid" is all he says grabbing the drink you had just made and turning around, you lightly grab his arm-feeling him tense "that's mine Kiszka, make your own. And what do you mean by that?" You say facing his back.
He finally faces you, eyes scanning your face. Having a war within himself, he has something he wants to say but he just won't.
After what feels like a lifetime of silence, he shakes his head muttering "nothing" and walking outside. Being left there dumbfounded, you have no idea what to do. You finally choose to follow him back outside and getting some kind of explanation. You must have sat there for longer than you thought because by the time you got to the fire Jake had his arm around another girl and didn't even look your way.
Deciding to let it go no matter the heaviness you felt in your chest, you walk back over to Sam Josh and Danny who were trying to "go find bigfoot". "My love has returned!" Sam cheers running to you "Glad you missed me Sammy" chuckling as you return the hug. "You seem sad what's wrong" he rushes out looking at your face. Josh shot a look in your direction with a raised eyebrow, sending him a look of 'i'll tell you later' while returning back to Sammy "I just missed you and couldn't stand to be away from you any longer" squishing his face and releasing the hug. " "Alright lover boy let's go to bed" Josh tries to drag him in the house. "No I can not deny my girl of my presence" he fights coming back to you,"I'll be here when you get up you need to lay down" He reluctantly gives in after I pinky promised to be here until he gets up in the morning.
Danny went inside with Sam, during this fiasco all the other people were gone from the fire and you assume they had all left, but no sign of Jake. Josh waves you over to the fire "come on talk to me" he pats your back as you take a seat next to him.
Josh was your person. He could read you like a book and knew exactly how to be there for you. He is your number one, but you hadn't talked to him about the Jake situation. You didn't want to put him in an awkward position.
So you sat there in silence for a minute debating if you wanted to let it all out. "You know you can talk to me right, about anything or anyone. I'm always here for you." He reassures sensing the state you're in. "Even if it's someone you share DNA with." you mutter. "Even if it's someone I share DNA with."
Letting out a sigh you begin, as you talk the angrier and more hurt you get. Alcohol amplifying said emotions, you feel a tear run down your face. "Hold on sunshine" Josh interrupts looking at your face wiping the tears, "not to make you feel bad, but why didn't you tell me any of this. I could have helped or talked to him." he seems hurt. "I didn't want to put you in a bad spot, things were fine just different between us but after tonight I don't know what that means or if I pushed a boundary. I don't want to upset him but I feel like that's all I've been doing and I don't know how." As you wiped your face from the excess tears, Jake was walking towards the fire from the front of the house.
Laying Directly next to you, was his acoustic guitar. Dammit. You quickly wiped your face to make sure it was dry. Just then making eye contact with him, his face flashed with concern and looked like he wanted to comfort. Yet, he grabbed his guitar and said goodnight.
As he walked in the house you turned to Josh "I know exactly what it is" Josh then looked at you with a smile. "How can you be smiling, and how do you know any of that, has he talked to you about this?" your mind is now racing, "I will not be the one to tell you but, I will go confirm it with dear Jacob, but listen to me when I tell you this. You have nothing to worry about because I know how you feel as well" He squeezes your shoulder as he stands up reaching out his hand for you to grab.
"You Kiszka's just hate giving explanations apparently. You stand your ground and don't grab his hand. âPlease just trust me on this."He grabs your hand from your lap and pulls you up "On the other hand, you're going to lay down and go to sleep."
You both walk to the house, parting ways as he goes upstairs and you go to sleep in the living room. After grabbing the blankets and pillows you look at the clock and see it's only 1:00 a.m. As you go to lay down, you're still in jeans and didn't plan on staying the night so you didn't grab any clothes. You could go in Ronnie's room and use her's, but felt bad invading her space, so you opted for Josh.
As you're about to knock on the door it swings open, revealing Jake, not wanting to give him a chance to say anything "I didn't plan on staying the night so I was just coming up to ask Josh for some clothes to sleep in." You say slightly avoiding eye contact. "Oh, he's cleaning up outside. I'll grab you some" he motions for you to come in and sit on the bed.
You take a seat on Josh's bed as Jake grabs you clothes from his drawers. He hands you a pair of sweatpants, a faded 'Terry Reid' shirt that looked older than he was, and a 'Frankenmuth High Soccer' hoodie with Kiszka #8 on the back. You mutter a thank you and get up to walk out of the room. Suddenly Jake's gentle grip is felt on your wrist; stopping you in your tracks.
"Goodnight" He finally said and let your wrist go.
You go to the bathroom across the hall to change into the clothes and process whatever it was that just happened. After changing and brushing your teeth you head downstairs to sleep on the couch.
"You know Ronnie's at her friend's house for the night, you don't have to sleep on the couch" Jake says coming around the corner with two glasses of water in his hands.Â
âI'm okay with the couch, I donât want to invade her spaceâ you reply, adjusting the blankets and pillows on the couch before laying down, trying to avoid looking at him. âSuit yourself then. Here's waterâ he said, shrugging and setting the glass on the coffee table. Muttering a quiet âthank youâ as you hear him go up the stairs. Sighing trying not to think about the situation with you and Jacob, you can't help but hear Joshâs words echoing in your head as you drift off to sleep.
