Matt Sturniolo x fem!reader x Chris Sturniolo
Summary; You have been a moody guts all day. Matt goes straight to comforting mode.. Chris, not so much
disclaimer; Chratt poly relationship dynamic! if you are not comfortable with this, do not read // suggestive // pet names // most likely a one shot.. based on this request
You flop onto the couch with an exaggerated huff, crossing your arms over your chest. Your irritation at an all time high for no real reason. Itâs been one of those days, and it feels like nothing is going your way.
Matts attention is caught by your dramatics, he glances over from where he sat on the other side of the couch. âHey-â he says softly â-whatâs wrong sweetheart? Youâve been in a mood since this morningâ his voiced concerned
You groan dramatically, rolling your eyes. âNothing. Iâm fine.â you snap,
Matt frowns, âCâmon, talk to me. Did something happen? Did I do something?â His voice is still patient, gentle, but for some reason it only makes you more annoyed.
âUgh, Matt can you not?-â you sass back. â-I said Iâm fine. Why canât you just leave it alone?â
Before Matt can respond, Chris speaks up from the kitchen, his voice cutting through your tantrum âAlright, thatâs enoughâ he says firmly, turning to face you. His blue eyes locking onto yours,. âWhatâs with the attitude, kid? Youâve been whininâ n actinâ like a little brat all dayâ
Your eyebrows immediately raise, taken back by his tone.
âChris!â Matt snaps, shooting him a disapproving look. âDonât talk to her like that, sheâs justââ
âSheâs just what?â Chris interrupts, standing his ground. âThrowing a tantrum because sheâs gotten herself all worked up for no reason? Donât coddle her, Matt. Itâs not helping.â
You glare at him, but Chris doesnât waver. âlook I get that youâre not in the best of moods today-â he says, his tone softening just a little â-but that doesnât mean you get to take it out on us. Weâre here to help you, not be your punching bags kidâ
Matt sighs, running a hand through his hair âYou didnât have to put it like thatâ he mutters, clearly torn between defending you and acknowledging Chris has a point.
âMaybe not-â Chris concedes, his gaze flicking back to you â-but she needed to hear itâ
You shift in your seat with an subtle eye roll. Chris wasnât wrongâŚyou had been a little over the top today. But still, his bluntness stings.
Matt scoots over to you on the couch, his hand resting gently on your knee. âlisten-â he says softly â-whenever somethingâs bothering you, just tell us, okay? We can talk anything outâ
âYeah-â chris starts in agreement, making his way over to the couch â-weâve got your back ma, next time lose the attitude, huh?â he says, crossing his arms as he stands infront of you
You sigh, the fight draining out of you as you mumble, âOkay, mâsorryâ feeling slightly guilty
Matt smiles, giving your knee a reassuring squeeze. Chris smirks, tossing a wink your way âThereâs our girlâ
Your lips instinctively curl upward at his coo..youâd always found it quite hard to stay mad at them for long periods of time. They had this way of breaking your attitude down, sometimes without even trying. You let out another small sigh, âi think iâve just been a little stressed lately thatâs all..â you say honestly, your eyes flickering between them both.
Matt clicks his tongue âah baby, why didnât you say so? i know just the thing for that..â he says before throwing a glance to chris with a smirk. They share a quick knowing look before Chrisâ smirk forms also, knowing exactly what his brother is getting at.
Before you could process what was happening, Chris leans down, scooping you up off the couch. You let out a surprise squeal as he hoists you up and slings you over his shoulder in a firemanâs carry, before placing a firm smack to your ass as he starts walking off toward Matts room.
âWhere are we goingâ you giggle, lifting your head slightly to see Matts figure following closely behind
âWeâre going to relieve all that stress of yours baby-â Matt mumbles, wetting his bottom lip, his hand coming down to unbuckle his belt as he walks â-jusâ relax, weâre gonna take good care of you hmm?â

"Summer nights like this had a way of unfolding secrets. The kind of nights when the air hung heavy with pine and smoke, the moon glinting like a shy voyeur against the rippling surface of the lake. This wasnât your first time at the Washington family cabin, but it was the first time that everything felt different. No parents. No rules. And, worst of all, no escape from the fact that Josh Washington was here, and he wasnât yours."
summary: Your best friend invites you to their annual summer trip to the family cabin in the mountainsâsomething you've done before. But this year is different: no parents. After years of secretly harboring feelings for your best friendâs brother, Josh, you decide this is the perfect chance to finally confess.

7th grade. That was when you stopped thinking of Josh Washington as just Hannahâs annoying older brother. Between the way he stayed behind after soccer practice to teach you how to kick a penalty and the smirk he threw over his shoulder, like he knew you were watching him. The first time when you actually considered Josh not being a jerk like other boys. In 9th grade, he became the hottest guy you had ever met. or maybe you just got so used to his face that you didn't want to look at other boys. Fast forward to now, you're starting college in one month, and things have changed in a way. maybe for the worstă
Ą because he's all you can think about.
âYouâre staring again.â Hannahâs voice snaps you out of your daze. Sheâs grinning, nudging your ribs as the two of you sit on the couch in the cabin. âYouâre so obvious.â You blink and turn toward her, cheeks heating. âIâI wasnât staring!â
âOh, you were,â she teases, popping a chip into her mouth. âWhat is it this time? The hair? The jawline? Or did you finally notice his arms? I mean, have you seen him chop firewood? Thatâs peak Josh.â
âHannah!â You hiss, smacking her arm. She only laughs, and you canât help but roll your eyes. But sheâs not wrong. Somewhere between your senior year of high school and now, Josh had gone from the boy who made stupid puns to the man who could take your breath away just by walking into a room. Unfortunately, it seems like he doesnât notice.
âStill no move, huh?â Hannah says, lowering her voice. âYouâre not seriously going to spend another summer in silent agony, are you?â You sigh. âWhat am I supposed to say? âHey, Josh, remember me? The girl who used to wear braces and cried when I lost my retainer? Cool. Wanna make out?ââ Hannah snorts so loudly that Beth, sitting nearby with her book, looks over with a frown. âWhat are you two laughing about now?â
âNothing,â you and Hannah say in unison, though sheâs still stifling giggles. Beth looks at you both, arching a brow. âSure,â she says, clearly unconvinced, but she doesnât push. She returns to her book, leaving you free to squirm under Hannahâs knowing gaze.
Josh doesnât stick around to witness your humiliation. Heâs already disappeared into the kitchen, and the sound of the fridge opening and the clinking of bottles is the only thing tethering you to the moment. âDo something this trip,â Hannah murmurs, leaning close so Beth doesnât overhear. âSeriously. Youâve been mooning over him since forever. And nowââ she waves a hand at the open windows, the twilight stretching wide like a stageââthis is your moment.â
âHannah, itâs not like that,â you say, but even you donât believe it. Not when your heart skips every time Josh is within ten feet of you. âItâs exactly like that,â she shoots back, voice low but insistent. âHe likes you, too, you know.â You look at her sharply. âWhat?â
âOh, donât give me that face,â Hannah says, rolling her eyes. âIâve seen the way he looks at you. Heâs just... Josh. Oblivious as hell.â
Youâre about to argue, to tell her sheâs wrong, that thereâs no way Joshua Washingtonâ carefree, clever, confident Josh, could ever see you like that. But before you can, his voice carries from the kitchen. âYou two plotting something?â Your breath hitches, and Hannah, ever the instigator, grins. âMaybe,â she calls back. Josh reappears, beer in hand, and leans against the doorway. His green eyes flick between the two of you, and for a moment, you swear they linger on you. âWell, donât blow up the cabin,â he says with a crooked smile before heading out onto the porch.
That night, the cabin settled into quiet. Beth retires early, Hannah tucked away in the room youâre sharing, and yet you canât sleep. Your thoughts swirlâimages of Joshâs hands, the way his eyes looked into yours, his voice, smooth and teasing, the way his smile felt like a hook tugging you somewhere you shouldnât want to go.
The room feels suffocating, the summer heat pressing against your skin. You slip out of bed as quietly as you can, grabbing a towel and slipping into your swimsuit. The lake isnât far. Youâve been there a hundred times before, but tonight, it feels like itâs waiting just for you. The water is cold when you first step in, but itâs a welcome relief, a shock that clears your head. You wade in deeper, letting the towel drop onto the shore, and soon, the swimsuit feels like too much. You hesitate, glancing back toward the cabin, but itâs silent and still. âJust you and the lake,â you whisper to yourself. The swimsuit peels away, and the water envelops you like a second skin. You float, staring up at the sky, letting the cool liquid carry the weight of your thoughts.
But then a voice shatters the stillness.
âDidnât take you for a midnight swimmer.â
You jolt, water sloshing as you whirl toward the shore. Josh is standing there, hands in his pockets, his head cocked in that infuriatingly casual way he always manages. âJosh!â You shriek, sinking deeper into the water. âWhat are you doing out here?â
âI could ask you the same thing,â he says, stepping closer to the waterâs edge. âCouldnât sleep?â
âSomething like that,â you mutter, your cheeks burning even as the water cools your skin. His eyes sweep over the lake, lingering just long enough to make your heart race. âYou always were full of surprises,â he says softly, almost to himself. âAre you just going to stand there and watch me, or are you joining?â you ask before you can think better of it. The question hangs in the air, bold and daring, and for a moment, you think youâve scared him off. But then he grins.
âAlright.â
You watch, half in awe, as he pulls his shirt over his head, revealing the toned lines of his chest and the faint trail of scars along his ribs. He doesnât stop there, shucking off his jeans until heâs left in his boxers.
The water ripples as he drops in, and suddenly, heâs closer than you expected, the space between you charged with something you canât quite name. âThis is nice,â he says, his voice quieter now, almost reverent. You nod, the words caught in your throat. âDo you ever feel like...â He trails off, his gaze fixed on the horizon. âLike thereâs something just out of reach? Like you want to grab it, but youâre scared of what happens if you do?â
Your heart thuds. âAll the time.â His gaze shifts to you, his expression unreadable. For a moment, you think heâs going to say somethingâsomething that will change everything. Instead, he leans back, letting himself float. âGood thing weâve got the whole summer,â he murmurs.
Youâre not sure if heâs talking to you or himself. But one thing is clear: youâll spend every moment of this summer trying to pull him closer.
The next morning, the cabin feels alive with the quiet rustle of summer. Birds trill in the trees, and sunlight pours through the open windows, a golden invitation to start the day. Hannah is already on the deck with a cup of coffee, scrolling on her phone when you step out. âYouâre up early,â she says, not looking up. You shrug, trying to hide how restless youâd been all night after what happened at the lake. âCouldnât sleep.â
She raises a brow but doesnât press. âJosh is down at the dock,â she says, nodding toward the lake. âProbably sulking. You know how he gets.â
You hesitate. âWhyâs he sulking?â
She snorts. âBecause the rest of the group isnât getting here until tomorrow. Youâd think one day without his entourage wouldnât kill him.â You glance toward the lake. the memory of last night. Joshâs quiet words, the way the moonlight danced in his eyes, it's still fresh in your mind. âYou should go,â Hannah says, smirking now. âCheer him up. Or stare at him some more. Whatever works.â
âHannah!â But sheâs already gone, slipping back into the cabin and leaving you with no choice but to head toward the dock.
Josh is sitting on the edge of the wooden dock, his feet dangling in the water. The air smells like cedar and the faint tang of sunscreen. for a moment, you almost turn back. But then he glances over his shoulder and sees you. âMorning,â he says, his voice softer than usual. âHey,â you say, stepping onto the dock and sitting a few feet away. For a while, neither of you speak. The lake stretches out before you, endless and still, and it feels like the world has shrunk to just the two of you.
âBig day ahead of us,â Josh says eventually, his tone laced with sarcasm. âYeah,â you reply, matching his smile. âSo many exciting activities. Staring at trees. Staring at water. Staring at each other.â He laughs, and the sound is warm and unexpected. âCareful. I might think youâre obsessed with me.â Your stomach flips, but you keep your voice light. âWho says Iâm not?â
Josh looks at you then, really looks at you, and for a second, you wonder if youâve said too much. But instead of teasing, his expression softens. âI donât get you sometimes,â he says quietly.
âWhat do you mean?â He shrugs, kicking at the water. âYouâre just...different. Not like everyone else.â oh boy. âGood different or bad different?â you ask, your heart in your throat. Josh doesnât answer right away. His gaze shifts to the endless forest, and when he finally speaks, his voice pangs through you.
âGood,â he says. "Definitely good.â
The rest of the day is a blur of lazy activitiesâhelping Beth organize the kitchen, listening to Hannahâs playlist on the deck, and avoiding Josh just enough to keep your heart from imploding. By sunset, the air is thick with the anticipation of the groupâs arrival tomorrow. Hannah flops onto the couch beside you, phone in hand. âSam says theyâre leaving first thing in the morning,â she says. âSo, enjoy the quiet while it lasts.â
âQuiet?â Beth calls from the kitchen, laughing. âHave you met us?â Hannah rolls her eyes. âYou know what I mean. Tomorrow itâs going to be chaos. Jess and Emily bickering, Chris and Ashley pretending theyâre not totally in love, Matt trying to keep the peace...and then thereâs Josh.â
âWhat about Josh?â You ask before you can stop yourself. Hannah gives you a look. âYou tell me.â
That night, you find yourself back at the lake, drawn by the same restless energy that kept you up the night before. You donât plan on skinny dipping againâit feels too risky with everyone aroundâbut the water calls to you anyway, soothing and eternal.
And maybe, just maybe, Josh feels the same right now.
Youâre sitting on the shore, toes dipping into the cool water when you hear footsteps behind you. âCouldnât sleep again?â You donât have to turn around to know itâs him. âI could say the same to you,â you reply, glancing back. Josh sits beside you, his shoulder brushing yours, and the warmth of him is enough to set your skin buzzing. âItâs weird, isnât it?â he says after a while.
âWhat is?â
âBeing back here. Without... you know. Adults. Rules.â You nod, the weight of his words settling over you. âFeels different.â
âYeah,â he says, his voice quieter now. âMakes you think about stuff.â
âLike what?â you ask, heart pounding.
Josh doesnât answer right away. Instead, he picks up a stone and skips it across the water. One, two, three perfect skips before it sinks. âLike what happens next,â he says finally. âFor all of us. Feels like everythingâs about to change.â
You donât know what to say to that. So, instead, you reach for your own stone, throwing it as hard as you can. It skips once before plunking into the water. âGuess Iâll just have to stick around and figure it out,â you say, keeping your voice light.
Josh looks at you, his eyes shadowed and searching, and for a moment, you think heâs going to say something. what you want to hear, maybe. something important. But instead, he smiles, that same lopsided grin thatâs been haunting your dreams for years. âGood,â he says.
âIâd miss you otherwise.â
The cabin feels too small the moment the others arrive. Itâs a blur of bodies, laughter, and chaos as the others spill into the space, dragging in bags, cooler boxes, and enough energy to wake the dead. Itâs not that you mind themâyouâve known most of Joshâs friends for years, but something about the way the cabin hums now feels different. The tight, intimate bubble youâd shared with Josh, Hannah, and Beth is gone, replaced by noise and the easy rhythm of their group. You feel...adrift, to say the least. And watching Josh slip seamlessly back into his role as the charismatic center of attention only makes it worse.
By the time night falls, the cabin is alive with music, the sharp pop of bottle caps, and the low buzz of conversation. You find yourself perched in a corner of the living room, a half-empty drink in hand, watching the others like a ghost at your own party.
Josh is at the center of it all, as always. Heâs standing near the couch, laughing at something Sam said, and the sound is enough to send your stomach twisting into knots. Sam, of course, is radiantâeffortlessly pretty in her cropped sweatshirt, her hair catching the light like spun gold. Sheâs animated, gesturing with her hands, and every time Josh leans closer to hear her, you feel like the room tilts off its axis. âHey,â Hannah says, sliding in next to you with a knowing look. âYou okay?â
âYeah,â you lie, taking a sip of your drink. Hannah snorts. âSubtle.â You glance at her, frowning. âWhat?â
âYou know what,â she says, tilting her head toward Josh and Sam. âSeriously, if youâre going to keep looking at him like that, you might as well do something about it.â
âIâm not looking at him,â you protest weakly. Hannah rolls her eyes. âSure. And Iâm not your best friend.â She pauses, watching you for a moment before her expression softens. âLook, youâre not exactly subtle when it comes to Josh. But for what itâs worth? I think heâs just as clueless about how he feels as you are.â Her words settle into your chest, a mix of hope and frustration, but before you can respond, Jess calls out from the other side of the room.
âHey! Whoâs up for Spin the Bottle?â You couldnât escape it, let's be honest.
You donât know how it happens, but somehow, you end up in the circle. Maybe itâs the drinking, or maybe itâs Hannah giving you a pointed nudge as everyone sits on the floor, but before you know it, youâre sandwiched between her and Ashley, your pulse pounding in your ears. Josh is directly across from you, his green eyes bright in the firelight. Sam is to his left, Jess to his right, and the knot in your stomach tightens. âOkay, ground rules,â Jess says, grinning wickedly. âNo chickening out. You spin, you kiss. Period.â
Thereâs a chorus of laughter and a few groans, but no one protests. Chris goes first, spinning the bottle with dramatic flair. It lands on Ashley, who blushes furiously but leans in to kiss him. The group erupts in cheers and wolf whistles, and you canât help but smile despite yourself.
One by one, the bottle makes its rounds. Jess and Emily kiss, Matt kisses Ashley despite him protesting, and eventually, itâs Joshâs turn. He spins the bottle with a lazy flick of his wrist, the glass neck twirling endlessly before it slows, stops, and lands on Sam.
Your stomach drops.
âOh, come on,â Jess says, clapping her hands. âThis is gonna be good.â Josh raises an eyebrow, glancing at Sam. She shrugs, smiling, and leans forward.
You canât look away.
Their lips meet in a brief, playful kissânothing dramatic, nothing earth-shattering. but itâs enough. Enough to make your chest ache, your fingers tighten around the drink in your hand. When they pull apart, everyone cheers again, and Josh laughs, rubbing the back of his neck. âYour turn,â he says, handing the bottle to Sam. But you donât care. Youâre too busy swallowing the lump in your throat, trying to ignore the way your vision blurs at the edges.
Later, when the game ends and the group begins to disperse, you slip outside, the cool night air a welcome relief from the suffocating cabin. The lake stretches out before you, dark and endless, and for a moment, you let yourself breathe.
âYou okay?â The voice startles you, and you turn to see Josh standing there, hands in his pockets. âIâm fine,â you say quickly, brushing at your eyes. He frowns, stepping closer. âYou sure? You looked kind of...I donât know, off.â You force a laugh, crossing your arms. âIâm fine, Josh. Really.â For a moment, he just looks at you, his brow furrowed like heâs trying to figure out a puzzle.
âYouâre a terrible liar,â he says softly. The words hit harder than they should, and before you can stop yourself, you snap. What do you want me to say, Josh? That I didnât love watching you kiss Sam? That it didnât suck seeing you two all cozy earlier?â His eyes widen, caught off guard, and for a second, you regret everything. But then his expression shiftsâsomething softer, something almost...guilty.
âI didnât...â He trails off, running a hand through his hair. âI wasnât trying to...â You shake your head, wrapping your arms tighter around yourself. âForget it. Itâs not your fault.â Josh hesitates, like heâs weighing his next words carefully. âI wasnât trying to hurt you,â he says finally, his voice barely above a whisper.
You glance at him, your heart aching at the look in his eyesâconflicted, searching. âI know,â you say quietly. âItâs fine. Really.â But itâs not fine. And as you turn back toward the cabin, leaving Josh standing by the lake, you canât help but wonder if this summer is going to break you before itâs over.
The sun hung low in the sky, painting the cabin in hues of orange and gold. The group was scatteredâJess and Emily were bickering over sunscreen, Chris and Ashley were curled up on the deck talking in low tones, and Sam was by the lake with Hannah, skipping stones. It was all too perfect, too idyllic, except for the hollow ache in your chest.
Josh had been avoiding you all day.
It wasnât like he was being obvious about itâJosh had a knack for slipping into conversations, filling the room with his sharp wit and charm like nothing was wrong. But you felt it. In the way his eyes would dart past you when you entered a room, the way his laugh seemed just a little louder when you werenât around.
And maybe you were just as bad, lurking in the corners, pretending not to notice how often he touched Samâs arm when they talked.
Written across your heart was all of your will to make him seeâmake him realize there was no in-between. There was either you and him, or the hollow echo of âIâm so sorry for your loss.â And wasnât that what it felt like already? Like mourning something that never got the chance to live?
But it was his fault, wasnât it?
For making you want him so much that your heart bled angel tears. For teaching your lips to sing sweet once-upon-a-times about a boy who was all sharp edges and hidden softness, who didnât realize how much space he took up in your world.
By late afternoon, you found yourself back at the lake. It had become your refuge, the only place where you could breathe without the weight of Joshâs absence pressing against your ribs. Your toes skimmed the waterâs edge, the cool ripples kissing your skin. You werenât thinking about anything in particularâjust the endless horizon, the way the light danced on the surface of the lake. But then a voice broke through your thoughts.
âYou hiding out here now?â You didnât have to turn around to know it was him. Again.
âMaybe I am,â you said, your voice sharper than you intended. Josh sighed, stepping closer. You could feel the heat of him at your back, the way his presence wrapped around you even when you didnât want it to. âLook,â he said finally, his voice softer. âAbout the other night...â You turned to face him, cutting him off. âItâs fine, Josh. You donât owe me an explanation.â
âYes, I do.â His eyesâthose endless green eyesâsearched yours, his expression uncharacteristically serious. âNo, you donât,â you said, forcing a smile. âWeâre friends. Thatâs all weâve ever been, right?â
Josh flinched, like the word âfriendsâ was a physical blow. âI didnât mean to hurt you,â he said quietly. For a moment, you believed. But then you shook your head, stepping away. âYou didnât, Josh,â you said. âIâm fine.â
That night, the group decided to make a bonfire by the lake. The air was thick with laughter, the sharp scent of burning wood mingling with the sweetness of roasted marshmallows.
You sat with Hannah and Beth, listening as Chris tried to tell a ghost story that kept getting interrupted by Jessâs sarcastic commentary. Josh was across the fire, sitting next to Sam. He wasnât touching her, wasnât even looking at her, but it didnât matter.
Your hair cascaded like Niagara under the firelight, your lips so softâeven if he had never felt them under his. Josh couldnât stop looking at you. Your eyes glowed like an eternity, and your voiceâwhen you laughed at something - it was the only antidote heâd ever had for all those sleepless nights.
He didnât know how to fix this.
Didnât know how to reach across the chasm that had opened between you since that stupid game of Spin the Bottle. And maybe it was selfishâmaybe it was cruelâbut he wanted you to look at him the way you used to. Like he was something worth believing in.
The fire burned low as the group began to drift off, one by one. Eventually, it was just you and Josh, the silence between you heavy and unspoken. âShouldnât you be with Sam?â you asked, your tone biting. Josh frowned. âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
âNothing,â you said quickly, standing. âIâm going to bed.â But before you could leave, his hand shot out, catching your wrist. âWait,â he said, his voice urgent. You froze, refusing to look at him. âCan we justââ He hesitated, his grip loosening. âCan we talk?â You pulled away, your chest tightening. âNot tonight, Josh.â He didnât stop you this time, and as you walked back to the cabin, you felt the weight of his gaze on your back.
Neither of you slept that night.
The stars were muted behind a veil of clouds, the air heavy with the promise of rain. The cabin was quieter now. Days of forced smiles and lingering silences had worn you thin, and tonight, you found yourself outside again, pacing the gravel path that led to the lake.
You didnât mean to cry.
It started as an ache in your chest, spreading to your throat until the tears came unbidden, hot, and relentless. You wiped at them furiously, hating the way they betrayed you, but the anger only made it worse.
How could he be so blind?
You heard footsteps behind you, familiar and deliberate. You didnât need to turn around to know it was Josh. âGo away,â you said, your voice raw.
He didnât.
âHey,â he said softly, his tone careful, like he was afraid youâd shatter if he spoke too loud. âWhatâs wrong?â You laughed bitterly, the sound hollow in the stillness. âYou really have to ask?â Josh shifted, running a hand through his hair. âLook, if this is aboutââ
âItâs not about Sam!â you snapped, whirling to face him. âItâs about you, Josh. Itâs always about you.â His brows furrowed, confusion flickering in his green eyes. âWhat are you talking about?â You threw your hands up, frustration spilling over. âDo you know what itâs like? To feel like youâre screaming into the void, hoping, praying, that someone will hear you? To love someone so much that it hurts, only for them to act like you donât even exist?â Joshâs expression shifted, the confusion replaced by something deeper, something raw.
âIââ
âYou donât get it,â you interrupted, your voice breaking. âYou never have. And maybe thatâs my fault. Maybe I shouldâve said something years ago, but I didnât, and now... now I canât even look at you without feeling like Iâm suffocating.â The tears came harder now, and you didnât bother to stop them. Josh took a step closer, his jaw tight, but he didnât speak. âSay something,â you demanded, your voice trembling. âAnything.â
He didnât.
The silence stretched, thick and suffocating, until you shook your head, a bitter laugh escaping your lips. âOf course,â you said, turning away. âWhy did I even expectââ But before you could take another step, his hand caught your arm, spinning you back toward him.
And then he kissed you.
It wasnât soft.
It was desperate, messy, like he was trying to say all the words he couldnât find through the press of his lips. His hands cradled your face, grounding you even as the world seemed to tilt beneath your feet. For a moment, you froze, too stunned to move. But then your hands found his shirt, clutching the fabric like it was the only thing keeping you from falling apart. When he pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, his breath uneven.
âIâm sorry,â he whispered, his voice barely audible. âIâm sorry I didnât see it sooner. Iâm sorry I made you feel like this.â Your chest ached, the anger draining from your body as quickly as it had come. âJosh,â you started, but he cut you off, his green eyes locking onto yours. âI donât deserve you,â he said, his voice cracking. âI know I donât. But youâre all I think about. You always have been.â The words broke something in you, and the tears came again, but this time, they werenât born of anger or frustration. âThen why didnât you say anything?â you asked, your voice trembling. âBecause Iâm a coward,â he admitted, a humorless laugh escaping his lips. âBecause Iâm an idiot who didnât realize what he had until he almost lost it.â You stared at him, your heart pounding in your chest.
âI donât want to lose you,â he said, his hands still framing your face. âI canât.â You didnât trust yourself to speak, so you did the only thing you could: you kissed him.
This time, it was softer, slower, filled with all the things you couldnât put into words. And when you pulled back, his lips curved into a small, hesitant smile. âDoes this mean youâll stop avoiding me?â you asked, your voice shaking with a mix of laughter and tears. Josh chuckled, pressing another kiss to your forehead. âYou'll start wishing I would."
The first low rumble of thunder rolled across the sky as you and Josh lingered, the sound so faint at first that you barely noticed it. But then it came again, louder this time, accompanied by a flash of light on the horizon, pulling you both from your kiss. You glanced up at the clouds gathering above, your chest tightening. Josh followed your gaze, a grin tugging at his lips. âYou afraid of a little rain?â Before you could respond, the heavens opened up. The rain came in a sudden, torrential downpour, drenching you both in seconds. You yelped, the cold droplets soaking through your clothes as Josh let out a startled laugh. âCome on!â he shouted over the sound of the rain, grabbing your hand.
He led you up the path, past the cabin and deeper into the woods where a small gazebo stood, tucked beneath a canopy of trees. The structure was simple but charming, with its whitewashed beams and ivy creeping up the sides. Inside was a weathered but cozy couch, draped with soft blankets that someoneâHannah, probablyâhad left there.
You stumbled under the shelter just as another crack of thunder split the sky. The sound was deafening, but you couldnât help laughing as you leaned against one of the beams, rainwater dripping from your hair and clothes. Josh stood across from you, his hands on his hips, his shirt clinging to his chest in a way that made your heart race all over again. His hair was a mess, dark strands sticking to his forehead, and yet he looked unfairly goodâsmiling at you like this was the best night of his life.
âWell,â he said, shaking water from his hair, âso much for staying dry.â You rolled your eyes, wrapping your arms around yourself. âYou think?â He stepped closer, his grin softening into something warmer. âHere.â He reached for one of the blankets on the couch, shaking it out before draping it over your shoulders. His fingers brushed your arms as he adjusted it, and you shivered, though it wasnât from the rain. âThanks,â you murmured, your voice quieter now.
Josh sat beside you on the couch, his arm resting along the back as he leaned into the cushions. The rain pattered against the roof of the gazebo, a rhythmic hum that filled the silence between you. âYou know,â he said after a moment, his voice low, âI kind of like this.â You glanced at him, eyebrows raised. âGetting caught in a thunderstorm?â
âNo,â he said, chuckling. âBeing here. With you.â You looked away, focusing on the rain streaking down the gazeboâs wooden beams. âJosh...â âHey,â he said, his voice softer now. You felt his hand brush against yours, tentative, like he was testing the waters. âLook at me.â You turned to face him, your eyes meeting his. The rain softened the world around you, muting everything except the warmth in his gaze.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. It was just the two of you, sitting close on that old couch, the rain falling like a curtain around the gazebo. You could feel it, that familiar warmth creeping up within you, curling in your stomach every time Josh was near. Your heart thuds as his rough palm drags itself up your exposed thigh. Before you could stop yourself, the words rushed out of your mouth. âIâm a virgin!â Your face flushed a deep crimson as soon as the words left your lips, and you immediately covered your face with your hands in embarrassment.
Josh froze for a beat, his hand still resting on your thigh. You could feel his gaze on you, but you didnât dare look up. And then, to your surprise, you heard him laugh softly, the sound low and warm. âWait... really?â he asked, his voice filled with amusement but also something softer, something affectionate.
You peeked up at him, still hiding half of your face behind your hands, the flush on your cheeks deepening. âYeah, really,â you mumbled, not sure whether you were embarrassed or relieved to finally say it out loud. Joshâs grin widened, and there was a playful glint in his eyes as he leaned a little closer. âI gotta admit, thatâs a little... surprising.â He paused, his tone teasing but gentle. âBut, hey, no rushing." Your heart skipped a beat at the thought of him being your first. You nodded, your eyes searching his face, still unsure whether to be embarrassed or... maybe a little proud?
His hand gently moved from your thigh to rest on your knee, his thumb brushing over your skin in slow, reassuring circles. âDonât be embarrassed,â he said quietly, his voice soft. âI'm not trying anything unless you want to.â You looked up at him, meeting his gaze, and found only kindness thereâ no teasing, no judgment, just understanding. And somehow, that made everything feel a little easier. "I do want to... you know.." The words won't come out. âStill,â you muttered, âitâs... kind of awkward, donât you think?â Josh chuckled, that warm smile never leaving his face. âDon't think soâ he said, his voice low and serious now, âif youâre gonna share something like that with anyone, Iâm glad it could be me."
You nod, scooting closer to him, palms now flush on his chest. his eyes scan your every inch, and you try to look away, but he captures your lips into another kiss. his lips trail down to your neck with a low "can I?" And you hum, trying your best to stay quiet as you get used to the feeling.
in no time, you're under him, both entangled, half naked and out of breath. he finally pulls off your panties, tossing them to the floor as he spreads your cunt wide open with two of his fingers, and god, you looked so erotic, all shying away as he loomed over, fingers playing with your pussy. "You ever touched yourself like this before?" You nod, bottom lip captive between your teeth. "J-just a little..." Oh, god. "You're so beautiful, fuckă
Ą" And he's already losing his mind. Nights of fantasizing couldnât have prepared him for this.
placing his palm behind your knee, he lifts up your legs, laying light pecks onto the plush of your thighs, thumb now tracing down to your puffy clit. Josh starts slowly, swirling his finger and still kissing your soft flesh. "Thank you for letting me do this." tracing the entrace with his index, he pushes his finger slow and deep inside, and you arch against him. this was it. he was where all of his dreams led him to. you looked like something straight out of a 80's porno. cunningly, josh moved his finger, and before you knew it he added another one. you squeezed perfectly around his digits, the sounds you and your pussy made driving him to the brink. "You hear that?" he asks, curling up his fingers, the wet sounds amplifying. "don't think I've ever had a pussy this wet before..." you whimper ans wrigle under his hold. "Josh.."
"What? It's the truth." he chuckles, speed picking up, his other hand now flush to your lower belly. "Want you to come. Can you do that for me?" he looks up, doe eyes searching for yours, and you can already feel your body convulsing. it didn't take long for you to finally give in and gift him what he asked for, coming just from his fingers. the way you thighs squeezed together, trapping his hand between them, soft pleads dripping from your lips like honeyă
Ą he was done for. you were embarrassed, to say the least, hiding your face into his shirt he had taken off long ago. "Stop that, heyă
Ą look at me, baby." Baby. did you just come again? "You did great. so good." he leans in over you, pressing a soft kiss on the bridge of your nose. "Do you wanna keep going?" and you say the most eager 'yes' known to man. "i got you." he smiles, eyes tracing every curve of your body. he takes off his pants along with hus briefs, letting his shaft spring free, small pearls of precum already gathered at the tip.
your eyes opened. what the fuck? is that normal? you knew your first would hurt, but seeing what Josh had going on for him you knew it would be the most painful experience for you yet. "Don't worry. I'll go slow." he stumbles a bit back, grabbing a hold of his trousers, palming his pockets before he mutters a soft 'there we go.' and takes out a shiny wrapperă
Ą a condom. the opens it and carefully takes it out, lining it with the tip of his aching cock. "If you ever wanna stopă
Ą" he start, whilst rolling the condom down his length. "Tell me. Yeah?" you nod.
taking his length into his fist, Josh pumps it a few times before he aligns it with your entrance that trickled with juices. he lets it slip in, and your eyes close as tears threaten to fall. you claw at his back, but Josh kisses you as he slides in some more, your walla wrapping perfectly around himă
Ą just like it was meant to be. "It's okay, you're okay, baby."
after going in the last couple of inches, he starts to move, gently holding down onto your waist as he lets you adjust. "Doing so food for me."
just a few strokes after he feels you wrapping your legs around his hips, urging him deeper. "Please.." You plead, the sweetest sounds escaping your plump and swollen lips, and he swears he could come just by that. "Fuck, yeah, okayă
Ą" he groans, with the way your teary eyes stared up at him. He starts to move his hips, harder, deeper, each sound you made an encouragement. His palms make his way under your back, pulling you up, almost to sit on his lap. He fucks up into you, your arms lazily draped over his flexed shoulders whilst his lips kiss soft blooms onto your chest. you clench around him. "J-Josh..." he shakes his head, laughing as his fingers dig deep into your flesh where you know bruises will appear later. "Don'tă
Ą ha, I'm gonna come if you keep doing that." whines slip past your lips as his speed picks up. "Shit, shită
Ą" he pulls you closer, lips now stuck to your neck like a locket. "Y-you gonna come?" he prys. "Mhm.." you squeal as your eyes roll back. "Go ahead, for me." that's all it took. you come once again, nimbly wrapping around josh like a vine, walls squeezing him so tight. your mind goes blank, only soft moans gripping your throat as Josh pumps into you, finally releasing inside of the condom with a few thrusts.
you both breathe heavily, hearts beating in a sing-song, as you come down from your high. realization sets in as you meet each other's gaze. it was real. it really just happened.
"You okay?" he leans in, pressing a lazy kiss onto your lips. "Yeah... How okay can one be after having sex for the first time..?" and he laughs, playing with the strands of your hair. "Thank god for the rain covering the sound. You were super loud just thenă
Ą"
"Josh!"

I just really love siblings in media#and wish we got more of these two#in the âinbetweenâ moments#I mean little moments like nudges and eye rolls#someone that brings out Gwenâs childish side the way only an annoying brother can#someone that brings out the goofier side behind elyanâs deadpan sarcasm#to know which one is the older one!!! (imo itâs Gwen)#to even see them standing together more often (and not just at their fatherâs grave đ)#especially wouldâve loved it while she was queen#Gwenâs trying to be professional and her idiot stoic brother is crossing his eyes at her across the room#to just tease her!!! and her tease him!!!! @pyjamacryptid
Iâm thinking about Gwen and Elyan tonight folksâŚ.. they were siblings, finally reunited after years, reconciled, and obviously cared for one another very much and there were hardly any on-screen interactions between them save for episodes where either one of them was in danger of some kind. Sigh.
I also know for a fact their exchanges wouldâve been hilarious because it seemed that Elyan was the one person that knew how to annoy Gwen at light-speed LOL

This post wasn't supposed to be about Regulus "don't fucking touch me" Black and James "unless it's me :3" Potter. This wasn't a Jegulus post at ALL, idk how I forgot the main point.
Regulus Black and Physical Intimacy pt.2
The Slytherins and James were hanging out in the common room.
Barty and Pandora were slightly at a distance, conducting and inventing dangerous magic spells together. Evan was closer but he was mostly on babysitting duty, making sure they don't go too far.
Dorcas was curled on an armchair adjacent to the couch, re-doing her essay as one does. Normally she'd join them but she considers this area of magic 'beneath her'.
After what has been hours of Regulus upstairs with his brother (5 minutes), James perks up on the couch when he sees the pair of brothers come down the stairs.
They were talking to each other, well, bickering was more accurate but they seemed relaxed, as normal siblings should be. James' heart melted, he wants to see more of that.
"What are you guys talking about?"
"Tiramisu."
Regulus says as if that explained anything.
Pandora perked up.
"Tiramisu? You brought food?"
That brings both Barty and Evan's attention onto them.
Sirius shoots them an apologetic look.
"Sorry, no food here."
The trio visibly deflates.
James clears his throat, bringing attention back to the original topic.
"What about Tiramisu?"
Sirius smirks while Regulus grumbles, crossing his arms.
"Not Tiramisu exactly, but he was banned from using forks with Tiramisu, you know?"
Intrigued, Dorcas puts down her scroll, sensing she was going to hear something Regulus wouldn't want anyone knowing. Always trying to find something incriminating.
"No, I did not know that, he was banned?"
"Well, not anymore but when he was like, so much shorter than this--" That gets him a kick on the leg but he marches on. "--we'd have Tiramisu for dessert every meal, his favorite."
James and the others can't help but coo, imagining a Regulus that barely reaches the table, looking forward to what was probably his favorite part of the meal.
"...I--Merlin, you guys are terrible."
Sirius sighs once the coos settle down, then continues.
"It was just a regular family dinner? Or there was some event? Celebration? Anyways, the whole family was there."
Regulus goes to sit next to James, close enough for their thighs to touch and James immediately feels like he could explode, like a supernova.
"And obviously that means we're going to have annoying aunts and uncles bothering us. So that night, I think Aunt Druella was the one fussing over Regulus? I can't remember what she was saying though but it got Reggie all red and fuming."
Hearing the name of their aunt, the rosier siblings were fully attentive to Sirius, dropping their experiments. When it became clear his partners were no longer into it, Barty had no choice but to be attentive too.
Regulus crossed his arms, appearing displeased as he recalled the memory.
"She kept insinuating I was a girl. My long eyelashes, my big eyes, my little body, my pretty face."
Sirius cackles.
"Oh that's right, Reggie hated being compared to a girl back then."
"... still does."
Barty mumbles as he recalled a painful memory in fourth year. He learned his lesson then.
"So of course, he retaliated. He stabs her in the thigh. With a fork."
Barty wheezes. Sirius joins in too, laughing. Regulus smirks, smiling fondly at the memory.
"Oh everyone's reactions--it was gold! It was the first time dinner became so silent besides well, her screaming!"
The other four were stunned into silence until Evan broke it, followed by Pandora.
"Hold on--you stabbed Aunt Druella?! As a kid??"
"How have we never heard about this??"
Sirius waved them off.
"They made her keep quiet about it, said it was her fault for bothering Reggie when he was oh so troubled for Hogwarts next year."
Barty wasn't surprised at this level of casual violence in their family, Pandora and Evan weren't surprised they made her keep quiet or that the Black brothers were recounting the memory like it was your usual nostalgia.
Dorcas and James however, could only stare in silence. A bit of fear from James.
"So that's why his fork privileges were taken away, but only for Tiramisu."
Sirius then joins Regulus and James on the couch, sitting next to his brother once he was done artistically recounting the tale of Regulus and Forks with Tiramisu.
He raises an arm to wrap around Regulus while their friends watch in horror as the brothers make physical contact.
"Although now that I think about it, he could still use forks to eat anything else and he always had knives."
Regulus allows himself to be pulled into his brother's embrace, neither noticing how the room has fallen into an awed silence.
"They wanted to fuck with her. Announcing they were going to take away my forks for Tiramisu every time? But still giving me forks and knives anyways?"
Regulus snorts and Sirius grins, squeezing his brother into his arm.
"Yeah, that's where you get your mean streak from."
"Accusations."
Regulus blinks innocently.
By then, the brothers realized their friends and even some other Slytherins were looking at them calculatingly.
"Uh, what's up guys?"
Dorcas lifts her gaze from the arm around Regulus's shoulders, to Sirius, then turns to her friends with confirmation if they were on the same page, then back to him.
"Uh."
Very eloquent, Dorcas Meadowes.
The others and her were staring at the arm with poorly hidden envy. They never got to touch Regulus so casually besides a very rare forced hug on birthdays and they were literally his best friends!! Of years!!
James glares at the arm, seething in jealousy. He wasn't faring much better either. James has to wait or ask for permission if he wanted to touch Regulus and he thought that meant he was quite close to him!! He's the boyfriend!!
They all did, because any attempts at touching him would come with a very-mellowed out violent response. But if it were any one else, Regulus would not hold back.
But here was Sirius Black! The man Regulus hated with all his heart only a couple weeks ago! Cuddled up against their Regulus! And him looking right at home there!
And yeah, they get it, Sirius was probably Regulus's entire world growing up in a house full of assholes, so of course Sirius would have exceptions.
But what the fuck!
Barty and James groaned, Evan huffed, Pandora pouted, Dorcas just shot them a look.
Oblivious Sirius just stares at them and chooses his peace.
"Alright, I'll go bother Peter then."
Once Sirius leaves, the eyes turn to Regulus. He blinks innocently.
"You."
James says with as much accusation he could put on his voice.
"Me?"
Regulus says as he slips a hand in James'. Suddenly, James can't remember what he was mad about.
"Nothing, you look lovely."
It was now James' turn to be stared at.
Regulus black and Physical Intimacy
*Pandora struggles to catch up with regulus so she reaches a hand out to grab his shoulder*
*Regulus smoothly dodges her hand like a cat and turns around*: sorry, I was distracted, did you say something?
*Pandora stares at her outstretched hand, slightly offended*
-
*Dorcas offering a drink*: Try it, it's actually surprisingly good.
*Regulus stares at her hand that's fully wrapped around the cup*
*Grabs the bottom of the cup with a down-side up hand-claw, then corrects his grip when it's fully out of her grasp*
Regulus, completely serious: well, it smells good, can't be truly awful.
*she stares at him with partly hidden judgement*
-
Regulus: Crouch, do you remember what professor Binns meant by this phrase?
*Barty uses this chance to get physically closer, attempting to wrap a hand around regulus's shoulder*
*A stinging hex is thrown his way and narrowly misses*
Barty, sighing: well, worth a shot
-
*Evan and Regulus reading together*
*Evan raises a hand to poke at Regulus's cheek*
Regulus, without missing a beat nor lifting his eyes from the book: no
*Evan slowly retracts his hand*
-
James: regulus...
*Regulus hums in answer*
James: can I touch you?
Regulus: you know the rules, in public only I initiate.
James, whining: but you never touch me
*Regulus rolls his eyes and stretches out a hand*
*James stares at it, confused*
Regulus, obviously teasing him: Oh, so head scratches aren't enough I take it?
*James, because he's not an idiot to haggle, immediately settles under the offered hand*

Congrats on wrapping up the Cursed Raven Saga!! đ I had a lot of fun reading it. One thing I loved was how Miss Raven has different relationships with every character. A lot of the saga was focused on just her and J Word though so I wanted to ask if you could clarify what her relationships are like with the other characters especially the ones we donât see a lot of in the saga or not at all. Sorry if itâs a big ask, Iâm just curious! You can do just the 22 NRC boys for now if you want. đ
[Referencing this series!]
AAAAAAH THANK YOU FOR LIKING IT, I'D LIKE TO THANK THE ACADEMY đđ
Having a character with very different relationships with the rest of the cast makes them feel more "real", doesn't it? Miss Raven doesn't get along with everyone! I spent a long time thinking about how she would interact with the others in the cast. A lot of those relationships are complicated or change over time, which is why I decided to explain each individual one rather than slap together a quick chart. The NRC students, staff, and a few key characters are included. I hope you enjoy reading ^^
Riddle
Theyâre very awkward friendly acquaintances. If you asked either one of them though, theyâd deny it and instead claim they just have a professional relationship.
They initially get to know each other via dorm meetings (as Raven attends to take notes); Riddle likes that she does her job and stays focused. He sometimes nags his freshmen students to be more diligent and to follow her example.
They take tea together occasionally and complain about the eels. Riddle has to deal with them all the timeâone as his classmate, the other approaching him at random, much to his chagrin.
Not sure how to deal with him when heâs mad. Raven locks up out of fear but attempts to talk him back into a state of calm. Sometimes just cowers.
Frequently tells Raven it is âill-advisedâ to associate with the twins.
Trey
Acquaintances out of convenience, Iâd say? Raven and Trey donât talk much themselves, but Trey appreciates that sheâs Riddle first ânewâ friend at NRC.
Raven sees Trey has a reliable senpai, but doesnât really have reasons to talk to him outside of business. She tries not to bother him since it looks like heâs already got a lot on his plate dealing with his own dorm members.
Trey uses her as a waste receptacle taste tester for his latest creations whenever he feels the Heartslabyul boys have had their fill of sugar. âRavens can basically eat anything right? Here, have some of this then.â
Cater
Calls Raven "Rae-chan".
Theyâre not close at all, but theyâre aware of the other personâs existence. The two donât vibe so wellâŚ
Ravenâs an introvert that doesnât really understand Caterâs sparkly persona and social media obsession. Cater doesnât get why a cute girl like Raven doesnât show off more.
Cater isnât entirely comfortable around her because sometimes it seems like sheâs staring at him⌠It makes him feel like heâs an open book and sheâs examining him for flaws or seeking out something more of him. He really plays up his persona around her to compensate and to cover for that.
Ace
Classmates but not friends. Heâs more like a bully. Raven tolerates him because they share the same homeroom. She thinks of him as an annoying little brother she has to "model" the correct behavior for.
Heâs constantly teasing her for a variety of things: being short, being a brainiac, being related to the useless headmaster, etc. Raven tries to be the bigger person and ignore him, but thereâs only so much she can take before snapping at him.
Occasionally steals glances at what sheâs writing in her diary or snatches it from her to read the entries out loud. Tells her she has shit taste in men.
Raven thinks sheâs more mature than Ace, but Ace sees right through her âladyâ act and points out sheâs more childish than sheâd like to admit. He says she should be more honest with herself, but she never is. She probably avoids Ace if given the choice because she doesnât like her lies/tsundere behavior being called out.
Deuce
Classmates, closer to being an acquaintance than Ace is. Though theyâre not exactly friends, Raven thinks of Deuce a little more positively because itâs usually him who intervenes to tell Ace to âcut it outâ or to âleave her aloneâ.
Deuce looks up to Raven as the honors student ideal. (Raven gets a slightly swelled ego because of this and thinks of herself as Ace and Deuceâs âbig sisâ figure.)
When he goes delinquent mode, Raven cowers in the corner until he has returned to normal. Canât totally understand some of his delinquent slang. Probably repeated a few of the phrases to ask what they mean and Deuce apologizes for saying them in front of her.
She once heard that Deuce likes eggs and she looked at him horrified.
Leona
Calls Raven âCanaryâ. It's meant to be an ironic nickname, since despite her black feathers she tries to be bright and optimistic with him.
They started off having a really sour relationship because Leona has an attitude that Raven finds is difficult to work with. She sees a lot of her old self in him (disheartened, lost, not willing to try) and takes it upon herself to encourage him because she doesn't want to see him going down the same dark path she did. Unfortunately, Leona doesn't appreciate that he's her "charity case" and tends to put up resistance to her efforts.
Raven's REALLY skittish around him since he's a big cat and she's a bird--they're naturally predator and prey.
Leona saw her as super annoying back then; he doesnât understand why she has so much faith in him when he has given up on himself. This frustration manifests in a few threats which definitely did not help the relationship.
Over time, I guess the two realize on their own how similar they are and they sort of soften up to one another. Leona starts to treat Raven a little nicer and finally acknowledges her for the "lady" that she is. "I can't quite place it, but Leona-san seems to be different somehow," she says. In a good mood + feels proud when she sees him in high spirits.
Raven really praises his intelligence and leadership abilities, but laments that he doesn't use them to their full extent.
They can bond over intellectual activities or something. Chess, reading books, etc.
Still get on each other's nerves by making verbal jabs. I guess that's the nature of a cat and bird, huh... Their relationship is very "Zazu-Scar" and "Beauty and the Beast" coded.
He's aware that she has a crush on Jade đ Angsts in private about not being "the one", why couldn't he have had this kind of support earlier in life, etc.
Ruggie
An acquaintance, forced to be cordial with him due to circumstances. Raven's often around campus doing odd jobs for her uncle, and she sometimes bumps into Ruggie (doing his own odd jobs). They chitchat here and there, but aren't super close.
Raven initially views Ruggie as "one of Leona-san's goons", but they become a little more amicable as Raven's relationship with Leona improves. Ruggie now comfortably teases her and commends her for putting up with the demands of their dorm leader.
He was the mediator for Leona and Raven back they didn't get along at all, asking Raven to cut Leona a little slack and telling Leona to lighten up with the birdie.
They share a love for shiny things and have a talent for finding edible plants. Sometimes they trade tips on the latter.
Jack
Raven's scared of Jack based solely on the principle that he looks intimidating. The first time they ever crossed paths, Raven took out her wallet and handed it to Jack (thinking that he was going to wail on her for her lunch money). He was very confused and handed the wallet back to her.
They don't talk. Like, at all. They only communicate on an as-needed basis, and even then it's difficult to get the ball rolling because Raven just freezes up when he looks at her. Jack very much reminds her of the wild predators she'd have to avoid in the forest.
She thinks it's cute when his ears twitch and his tail wags, but doesn't dare get close to him. Would prefer to stand on the other side of the room and shout at him.
... Jack doesn't get why she acts this way, isn't this way of communicating inefficient?
He tries to remain respectful of her since it seems like (in his eyes) she's friends with Ruggie-senpai and Leona-senpai. Wonders if there's something more there that he's not fully getting, but figures it's none of his business to ask about it.
Azul
Thought he was polite at first, but Raven eventually came to understand that his smile is, in fact, shady. She maintains a certain level of professionalism (given that he's a dorm leader), but she's pretty on edge around him otherwise. If he's nice to her, she assumes he wants something or has an ulterior motive.
Azul sees a lot of value in Raven due to her connection with the headmaster. He's always reaching out to her and 'offering" favors or items to get in her good graces. Often is rejected, but man doesn't know when to quit.
Though Raven doesn't like Azul or what he stands for, she thinks the Mostro Lounge is very comfortable and dines there on occasion. (Insists on paying full price when Azul tries to slide over a discount.)
Jade
Her crush
When Raven first arrived at NRC, she got really attached to Jade since he seemed like a kind and reliable gentleman. They had a falling out (after Raven learned that Jade was sent by Azul to manipulate her) and have been on rocky terms since. Unfortunately, a (very stupid) part of her is still attracted to him, though she strongly denies it.
He derives a lot of amusement from her overreactions to little things, like having their fingers brush against one another.
Raven keeps Jade at as much of a distance as she can. Sadly, he keeps popping up in her life (all orchestrated coincidences) to charm her. She convinces herself that he doesn't actually like her and that these are all calculated moves to get back on her good side.
Many of their interactions devolve into bickering, with Jade teasing her and Raven trying to fire back with something witty.
They're curious about each other's home biomes and true forms. Back when they were friends, they'd teach each other many new things on those topics.
Very vengeful towards those who are "too cruel" to Raven (because only he's allowed to be that mean to her :>). Offers to "take care" of them for her. She tells him not to, but isn't sure if he actually listens to her.
Floyd
Calls Raven âBlack Pearlyâ/âKuroshinju-chanâ. Normally Floyd nicknames people after sea creatures--and notably, with Raven, he calls her an inanimate object from the ocean. This is intentional (from a meta perspective), as it highlights that Raven is an entity that doesn't quite "fit" within the school and the story.
Raven's not a fan. She can't deal with Floyd acting so unpredictably and rashly. He's such a headache, why can't he at least PRETEND to be polite like Jade does? (This comment really pisses Floyd off and makes him stomp off.)
He thinks she's boring but keeps starting shit to see if she'll react if he pokes the right buttons.
Makes fun of her because he sees her crush on his twin is sooo obvious. Doesn't understand why she has to overcomplicate things by hiding how she really feels. "Just do it already."
Kalim
Friends! But in small doses. Raven gets tired being with Kalim, whoâs always so friendly and energetic, for extended periods of time. Cares for him in the same way a big sister might for a younger brother, even though Kalim is in the higher grade level.
Showers her with gifts, especially foods. He shows her his menagerie and encourages her to try petting tigers or something đ Kalim had a big heart and shares a lot of what he has with her.
He listens to her worries about connecting with others and fitting in. Not good at wording his advice, but encourages her to keep trying and that heâll always be there for her!
Raven finds Kalimâs cheer refreshing but worries that people could take advantage of his naĂŻvetĂŠ like she was (by Jade). Tries to protect him from shady types of characters.
Jamil
Not exactly friends, but they see each other and immediately see the tired mom energy. Thereâs a mutual understanding between them.
Raven takes shifts with Jamil to help Kalim with his assignments. Helps keep an eye on his dorm leader when heâs up to his neck with other tasks. Itâs like theyâre coparenting đ
She often finds herself staring at his hair accessories. When she was less accustomed to human life, she yanked on one of them and earned his ire for the next several weeks. Jamil has cooled off since then, but heâll bring it up subtly if heâs annoyed with her.
Vil
Calls Raven âShetland potatoâ. (Yes, I know Shetland is an irl location that doesnât exist in Twst; just assume Shetland is an old fashioned way of saying Shaftlands/itâs a variety of potato from the Shaftlands.)
She approached Vil first and nervously asked him for etiquette lessons (since she wanted to know how to be more human and âladylikeâ), which he agreed to. Vilâs pleasantly surprised that she had the agency to seek self improvement like this, so now his expectations of her are set really high.
Raven admires Vilâs mastery of potionology and tries her best to emulate him in the lab. Her technique is a little clumsy, but her heartâs in the right place. She also loves his sense of fashion since she lacks the confidence to pull off the daring looks that Vil does.
Heâs like the stern, icy older brother she never had. Vil doesnât go out of his way to help her out (he wants her to learn to fend for herself), but heâs there if she needs advice or help dressing for an occasion.
One of the few guys she can go to for âgirl talkâ. Raven tries to keep who sheâs talking about vague, but Vil always sees right through her and tells her itâs a poor choice.
Rook
Calls Raven âmon petit oiseauâ. Later on (like, after Raven becomes more confident in her identity), he'll switch over to the nickname "Conteuse des Corbeaux".
A good friend! If not a little too over eager. Raven was definitely put-off but him at first, but he grew on her over time. She loves listening to him wax poetic; it inspires her in her own creative endeavorsâand his cheer is so infectious!
They share a love for the arts and sit around trading their takes on the latest movie or play or art piece they saw. Sometimes he reads and offers critique of her latest work.
Lives for the tea. Besides Vil, heâs one of the other guys Raven can talk to about love. Problem is, Rook is content watching her try to find her way (thereâs something romantic about it!) and vaguely encourages her to âfollow her heartâs desireâ.
Tries to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe too much. (âI-Iâm sure Rook-senpai has a perfectly good reason for breaking into your dorm room to leave a rose on your pillow⌠r-right?â)
They sometimes whisper stuff to each other in bird.
Epel
Epel has beef with her cuz she's a raven (aka one of those pest animals that wreak havoc on his village's crops!). Stares at her from a distance with kind of a grumpy face.
He doesn't really act on that beef because Vil will whoop his ass for being rude and provoking a fight with his peer. If he's in a situation where he has to talk with Raven, Epel will do his best to put on that soft, sweet polite facade that Vil has taught him.
Raven has zero clue what Epel's saying when he speaks in his accent. Asks him to repeat himself, which annoys him.
Idia
Raven thinks heâs basically a ghost that haunts Ignihyde. Does that guy ever go out and get sunshine??? (Raven thinks that, but sheâs a hypocrite because she also holes up in her room⌠writingâŚ)
Doesnât really have an opinion of him since heâs so withdrawn and they barely interact. However, she doesnât like it when he acts all high and mighty about the media he consumes. Raven thinks it discourages people from giving the media a shot because heâs making it seem so unappealing.
She also thinks his laugh and general presence is
a little eerie. Maybe sheâll get cursed if she bathes in his negative miasma for too long.
Even though they donât know each other irl, I think it would be funny if Raven posted her writing online and Idia was one of her biggest fans đ Like this guy religiously likes, comments, and shares every postâŚ
Ortho
Calls Raven âRaven Crowley-sanâ.
Theyâre friends! Little buddies experiencing a lot of their firsts and exploring the world and its oddities together.
Ortho is very pragmatic while Raven has a big imagination and tends to daydream. They balance each other out well.
He tells Raven about his older brother (which is how she first learned about Idiaâs existence.) âEh⌠Ortho-san, you have a difficult sibling like thatâŚ?â She feels bad for him đŚ but respects him for having the patience to deal with that.
Ortho thinks Ravenâs an interesting subject to observe and gather data on. Itâs not every day that he gets to do this! Heâll be sure to collect accurate readings on her.
Malleus
Calls Raven "the young Crowley".
Because Malleus is often missing from dorm leader meetings, Raven has to either go fetch him for them or deliver the meeting notes to him. Heâs thankful for her help but doesnât engage with her outside of these instances.
Raven is pretty neutral about Malleus?? She respects him and all, but doesnât get involved with him more than she thinks she should. Malleus is the same way with Raven; he doesnât think much of her beyond her duties.
Malleus was slightly amused by Raven standing up to him during GloMasq; he announces his intent to strike Rollo down but Raven insists they hear him out. Since then, heâs kept an eye on her and wonders if sheâll have the audacity to do it again.
I imagine that Raven goes to Briar Valley to serve as a royal scribe or messenger for Malleus in her fourth year internship. This would lend them a Maleficent-Diablo dynamic.
Lilia
Acquaintances, mostly because Raven communicates with him about dorm leader meetings or sometimes passes meeting notes to him if she cannot find Malleus herself.
He commends her for being a bright girl but thinks she could make do with loosening up a little. Takes delight in popping up out of nowhere to spook her.
Believes that Malleus and Raven are friends. (Theyâre not.)
Lilia jokingly asks his boys who they think os cuter: Raven or him? Itâs definitely him, right? đĽş
Raven has the inkling that Lilia is a lot older than he seems just based on the stories he tells when he has the chance to. She loves listening to them and dreams about traveling to those places too.
Silver
Friends, but not right away. Raven used to be scared of Silver because he looks intimidating when he stares at you. Still, she feels oddly drawn to him anyway. It must be his princely aura drawing in all the local wildlife⌠including her đ For a long while, she just observed Silver from a distance.
Once she learns Silverâs actually very normal and even sweet (most likely from the neighborhood birds), Raven settles in nicely by his side. For example, she might work on writing while Silver dozes off beside her on a warm afternoon.
Models some characters in her stories off of Silver. Heâs so gallant! (Raven complains that the other NRC students should be more like him. Silver doesnât understand what she means.)
Heâs dense, but heâs a good boy. Will help her grab or carry things she canât on her own. However, Silver is useless with other matters. Like if he sees Raven and Jade bickering, Silver will intervene and try to help âsort out the misunderstandingâ so they can all be friends.
Sebek
(Loudly) calls Raven âBirdâ.
Frenemies Sebek talks down to Raven and demeans her like he does many of his peers, but sometime around GloMasq he came to the conclusion that she must be a long lost relative of Malleus's and develops a sense of respect for her. Since then, he has been acting like an eager puppy that trails after Raven and says/does things in hopes of earning her praise.
Raven is confused by his shift in demeanor and wonders why he's suddenly being so nice to her... Not that she's complaining, but it took a while to get used to.
She's still a little intimidated by his looks and loudness.
Book buddies! They give each other recommendations and discuss their latest reads.
Crowley
Calls Raven âmy adorable little nieceâ, sometimes âRaven-kunâ.
He's your typical bumbling/silly but well-meaning father figure. Irresponsibly offloads many of his responsibilities onto her. She also often serves as a messenger to Yuu on behalf of Crowley. Usually apologizing for him.
Not above using Raven to make himself appear competent to potential sponsors and donors. Crowley uses a combination of fake tears, bribes, and flattery to get her to act in his favor.
Despite this, she cares for him and he cares for her too. Raven just wishes Crowley would step up sometimes!!
Crewel
Sheâs scared of him, especially when he raises his voice (even if the scolding isnât directed at her). Works hard in his class to avoid his ire.
He sees a lot of potential in her, but dislikes that Raven lacks a spine. Crewel often picks on her in class in an effort to get her to be more confident in herself and to learn how to speak up.
Trein
Raven likes Trein! He provides her with a sense of warm and grandfatherly comfort. She's never had a grandpa before, so she considers Trein something akin to that.
Sometimes stays after class to ask questions or just to chat with him. He appreciates this since some of the other first years act out or don't have an interest in the subjects he teaches.
Trein keeps things professional; he feels that a teacher and a student should remain in those roles and not cross those boundaries. However, he lets Raven know that if she needs any guidance, his door is always open. Maybe that's his empty nest syndrome speaking.
Lucius
The one cat Raven isn't immediately apprehensive about, if only because Trein reassures her that Lucius is gentle.
He chills in Trein's lap while they talk.
If he's in a good mood, he might bat a paw at her or let Raven stroke him. She calls him a "very good boy".
Vargas
Slightly intimidated by Vargas's physique and gung-ho attitude. She admires his enthusiasm for self-improvement, but isn't so sure about his methods.
He doesn't let the fact that she's a girl deter him from pushing her hard! If anything, Vargas declares that she has to work two times as hard to prove herself and build some muscle! Raven always leaves his class hugging and puffing, sweaty, and red in the face... but also feeling super proud of herself.
Traumatized by that one time she witnessed Vargas down five dozen raw eggs for breakfast.
Sam
Business owner and customer--there's nothing more to it than that! Sam sees Raven as a particularly valuable customer due to her need for specific ingredients to concoct her enchanted inks. Occasionally puts aside a rare find and lets her know about it for a good deal.
Raven's thankful to Sam for filling in the ingredient gaps for her. Though, uh... she begs of him to stop placing bets with her uncle about whether or not he can buy out his stock.
Yuu
Cordial enough classmates. They're in the same homeroom which is convenient for when Raven has to pass messages or tasks from Crowley to them.
Willing and able to help Yuu out whenever they ask for it.
[Insert other information as desired; varies widely depending on what kind of Yuu features here.]
Ramshackle Ghosts
Raven greets them like they're her friendly neighbors.
The ghosts treat her like that nice Girl Scout from down the lane that stops by every so often to offer them cookies.
Grim
Brings a tuna can as a peace offering. Pushes it to Grim using a stick. Makes him promise to not bite her or set her on fire. Raven walks on eggshells around him.
Grim is mildly insulted by her acting like he's a monster. "I'm a civilized mage too, yanno!!" (He eats her peace offering anyway.)
Neige
Raven mostly knows him from all his appearances as a celebrity. Doesn't think much of him other than "oh, he's cute" or "he's like a fairy tale princess".
Upon welcoming Neige to NRC for the cultural festival, she's surprised to see him being so princess-like in person as well. To Raven, Neige almost doesn't seem real.
Neige gives off a very inviting aura that makes Raven feel welcome and comfortable in his presence, even though they just met.
He'd treat her as he does all of his fans, in a very sweet and pure manner. Might be interested to know that she's a raven; Neige could think it's cool or invite her to join in on their song since ravens count as a songbird. She gets embarrassed and says she can't possibly do such a thing.
Chenya
Another cat boy? Big nope for Raven. Her bird instincts are shouting at her to keep away. Chenya's a lazy sort of cat, so he seems fine to be around (especially since Riddle and Trey vouch for him). They're basically strangers though.
Raven stares at him as he picks up a slice of cake and chomps through it, then asks for seconds. Her only impressions of him are that he's sneaky and kind of a glutton.
Chenya thinks Raven's sorta funny. He teaches her some bad cat puns and asks her a variety of nonsensical questions just to see how she responds.
Loves spooking her by appearing out of nowhere or poking her while heâs still invisible.
Cheka
Calls her "ojitan's friend". Cheka is 100% convinced that Raven is besties with Leona.
She thinks he's a lost child and takes him by the hand to take him to help him reunite with his parents. (Cheka thinks Raven is a lost child too.)
He's a little ball of fur and energy! Cheka runs all over the place and wears Raven down real fast. She's never been so eager to hand the kid off and be rid of him (though she tries her best to smile and wave good-bye).
Rollo
HE HATES EVERYONE, INCLUDING RAVEN.
... But Raven doesn't want to give up on him! She insists on being his pen pal and keeping in touch, since she feels that a large part of why he broke down was not having people to talk to or to support him. Rollo's forced into this situation... but no matter how often he tells her to quit this, she won't let up!
He finds her extremely bothersome, of course. (Rollo won't admit that there's sort of a comfort in including this in his routine, that it's nice to have somewhere to vent and let loose his bottled rage.)
At some point, he extends the offer to listen to her woes about the NRC boys, whom he is certain are sin incarnate.
What? No, they are NOT friends. Absolutely NOT. (His aide and vice president think they are.)
Fellow
Calls Raven the âlilâ ladyâ of Night Raven College.
Picks on her. Steals her food, takes her books, etc.
Such an ass-kisser (he's hoping to get sympathy and then leech resources off of her). Gets Gidel to play along with his schemes too. Alas... Raven does, in fact, feel something for their situation.
She's highly suspicious of him. Doesn't like it when he acts overly familiar and touches her on the arm or shoulder... or cocks that smug, suspiciously crooked smile.
Raven likes it when Fellow allows his inner child to come out; it's nice to see that he's still able to keep dreaming as an adult, she thinks.
Gidel
To Raven, Gidel's some kid that Fellow strings along in his schemes. She's much more forgiving of him compared to Fellow and does her best to read his body language to understand what he's trying to communicate.
Gidel's curious about her. She's a scholar, right? Wow, he wants to know what that's like! He just kinda stares at her with big, eager eyes.
Skully
He acts like theyâre BFFs but Raven tries to keep him at a comfortable distance. Skully (wrongly) assumes that she's his ally and will agree with him on everything.
She thinks that Skully acts and talks like a character from a fairy tale, but in practice she's a little put off by how touchy-feely he is. Raven will let him kiss the back of her hand, but when he's not looking, she'll gently wipe it off on her skirt.
She'll happily sit there and listen to him ramble for hours about Halloween and the traditions of his village. Raven loves a good story!
She acts as the mediator when Skully butts heads with other people about his hyperfixation and idol. It's not very effective, but someone has to do it.

61 George clarke
is that mine?- George Clarke
The aroma of coffee filled Arthurâs flat as his sister Daisy stood by the counter, scrolling on her phone. She was supposed to be on holiday, but Daisy rarely rested. Arthur had invited her to stay for a few days, partly to get her out of her usual routine and partly to keep her from overthinking.
âCan you not use my French press like a battering ram?â Arthur muttered, walking into the kitchen.
âOh, good morning to you too, sunshine,â Daisy quipped with a smirk. âDid you forget Iâm your guest, or should I start paying rent?â
âJust donât break anything,â Arthur shot back, rolling his eyes.
It was one of those casual mornings where everyone had their own plan for the day. Arthur had mentioned George and Chris were popping by later, which Daisy had greeted with mock excitement.
George Clarkey had been the source of many jokes over the years. He was always polite and friendly around Daisy, but the running gag about his not-so-subtle crush on her had become a staple of their conversations. Arthur, for his part, hated it.
âDonât you dare embarrass me today,â Arthur had warned earlier, pointing at her.
âMe? Embarrass you?â Daisy had replied, feigning innocence. âIâm a delight.â
Now, hours later, Arthur was out for an impromptu shoot with Italian Bach and Chris, leaving Daisy to relax. George had a key to Arthurâs flat â for reasons Daisy didnât quite understand â and she knew heâd likely turn up sooner or later.
The weather had taken a chilly turn, and Daisy, despite her bravado, wasnât immune to the cold. After rummaging through Arthurâs limited supply of blankets and failing to find anything warm enough, sheâd spotted a hoodie slung over the back of the sofa. She pulled it on without thinking.
It was oversized on her, soft and familiar, and it smelled faintly like aftershave. Only when she looked in the mirror did she realize it wasnât Arthurâs â it was Georgeâs.
âPerfect,â she murmured to herself with a grin, fully aware of how much this would irritate her brother.
The door opened a little later, and George walked in, holding a bag of snacks and a bottle of wine. He was wearing his usual cheeky grin, but it faltered slightly when his eyes landed on Daisy.
âIs that⌠mine?â he asked, pointing to the hoodie.
Daisy looked down at herself, feigning surprise. âOh, is it? Sorry, I got cold.â
George raised an eyebrow, setting the snacks on the counter. âAnd the dozens of other options werenât good enough?â
She shrugged, giving him an innocent smile that didnât quite reach her eyes. âWhat can I say? It looked warm.â
George smirked, his tone light but curious. âRight. Warm. Definitely not trying to wind up your brother or anything.â
âWhy, is it working?â Daisy teased, pulling the hoodieâs sleeves over her hands.
George laughed, leaning against the counter as he watched her. âYou know, I donât even think youâre doing it for Arthur anymore.â
âWhat do you mean?â she asked, her voice lilting with mock offense.
âI think you like annoying me more than him,â he replied, his grin widening.
Daisy tilted her head, pretending to consider it. âHmm. Youâre not wrong. But maybe I just like seeing you flustered.â
George felt his cheeks flush but tried to play it cool. âWell, mission accomplished. You look ridiculous in that hoodie, by the way.â
âRude,â Daisy shot back, but she was smiling now, and the banter felt natural. They had always joked around like this, but something about today felt different.
âSo,â George said after a moment, his tone softer. âWhatâs the real reason youâre still here?â
âArthur invited me,â Daisy said, though her voice lacked its usual bite. âHe thinks I work too hard and needed a break. Heâs not wrong, I guess.â
George nodded, leaning closer. âYou do seem a bit⌠tired. Everything okay?â
Daisy hesitated, surprised by the concern in his voice. âYeah, Iâm fine. Just⌠life, you know?â
He nodded again, his gaze lingering on her. âIf you ever want to talkâŚâ
âIâll keep that in mind,â she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
They were close now, almost too close. Daisy looked up at him, her hazel eyes searching his face for something she wasnât sure of.
âYou know,â she said softly, âArthur would absolutely lose it if he saw us right now.â
âYeah,â George agreed, his voice equally quiet. âBut Arthur isnât here.â
Daisy smiled, and before either of them could second-guess themselves, she leaned up and kissed him.
It wasnât hurried or awkward; it was gentle and warm, and it felt like the most natural thing in the world. George kissed her back, his hands finding her waist, and for a moment, everything else disappeared.
When they pulled apart, Daisy was the first to speak. âWell⌠that escalated.â
âYeah,â George said, his face breaking into a grin. âBut Iâm not complaining.â
Daisy laughed, pulling the hoodie tighter around herself. âGood. Because Iâm keeping this.â
âOh, you think so?â George teased, his confidence returning.
âI know so,â she replied, standing on her tiptoes to kiss him again.
They both knew Arthur would be furious when he found out â but for now, they didnât care.

the way jayvik fans are ignoring the entire plot of the show to raise up their ship is soâŚi thought tumblr was being dramatic when they said yaoi shippers will just ignore any women and plot just to prop up their own desires.
like letâs not be deluded a lot of people emphasized caitvi a little too muchâto the point they ignored the storyâbut that was nothing compared to this. like, i get it, theyâre two hotties with a beautiful, complex narrative surrounding them and tying them to their world and each other. but if a romantic or sexual relationship was a part of that, thereâs no way in helllll fortiche or the writers wouldâve maintained their status as âjustâ best friends and brothers. (which also ignores how deep and beautiful a bond between best friends, siblings, partners can be)
i know some people might not remember it but i remember in 2021 there was a slight whisper from some people, especially on reddit, who were annoyed that the show focused so much on womenâs relationships (sisters, girlfriends, daughters) and not menâs; obviously these people missed the point in an entirely different direction but theyâre on the same starting track as the jayvik romance phenomenon. jayce and viktor are as much vander and silco as they are themselves. they are vi and jinx. they are brothers by bond, not by blood (though eventually they are by the blood they spill). they are the third telling of this all important story between siblings, the third outcome. vander and silco could not handle what they wrought and eventually killed each other. vi and jinx could not handle what they had done and had to separate themselves completely lest they be stuck in a constant drowning battle. jayce and viktor couldnât fix what they had done and thus had to work together to destroy it, as they had to cause it. notably: these latter two outcomes reflect the overall trajectory of the show. vander and silco (united by ideals) could not forgive themselves or each other, even for their goal to save the world. jinx and vi (united by blood) and jayce and viktor (united by discovery) learned from themselves, from each other, that they have to forgive in order to do whatâs ultimately needed.
alsoâsomething iâve seen NOBODY mention is Skye. Skye is honestly so important to viktorâs arc and nobody seems to remember or care. she has been accused of being one of arcaneâs few flaws, being a victim of âfridging.â in some ways, this is absolutely true. she was just a random female character introduced to make viktor feel badâbut thatâs kind of the point. viktorâs newfound hatred (end of s1) of the hex core comes because he realizes that his arrogance and desperation have lead him to kill someone he never got to know on a deeper level (indicated by him learning more about her from her diagrams than he has the whole time). he is furious that he let that happen, that it took an innocent life to be lost forever just to spur him to realize the error of his ways. it why he wanted to be left to die naturally. her inclusion in the brief time where viktor was âascendedâ but not yet gloriously evolved, was some of the points at which viktor seemed happiest. we didnât get to see much of themâwhich is sadâbut their constant interactions and her looming presence whenever he was shown in his astral state confirmed how much he regrets losing her. this does NOT mean they are a romantic item, though to some it may, but it does mean that viktorâs care and character growth/change for others is being unfairly sidestepped in favor of a ship. she even goes so far to say that âno, you wonâtâ when he says heâll miss their talksâimplying either that she was the first to acknowledge that he was not going to be the viktor she knew, or that she knew that the same arrogance in him now was in him when she was alive (and that he cared about nothing but himself).
this is not even to mention that this also completely sidelined Mel, who does eventually move on due to reasons outside either her or jayceâs control, was still his lover and confidant for a long time. her arc informs his as does he, hers. her growth into her powers while he shies away from unknown magic is a reflection of their season 1 selves, where jayce embraces his newfound inventiveness and influence while she fears her what she knows her mother will do. mel being routinely ignored is due in no small part, im sure, by misogyny and racismâbut she is just as much a main character as they are (game notwithstanding).
now iâm not saying this to be a jayvik hater. myself? i love caitvi, probably more than i should have above base appreciation of their worth to the story and beautiful writing, so i get it. this doesnât mean i think jayvik is bad inherentlyâbut lofting it above all else is annoying. the romances of arcane are sooo beautiful and complex but theyâre only a part of what the story is trying to tell you, so a manufactured relationship that supersedes all is counterintuitive.
#like of course. itâs a twink and a hunk and theyâre science nerds. of course thatâs a good ship#but besides all of that shit i just said up there ^#also did not feel the fucking sparkkk. i mean we all knew ekko and jinx had something in s1 and that wasnât confirmed for 3 years#because arcane is NOT subtle. which is why i think they wouldâve made a romantic jayvik wayyyyy clearer and thematically relevant#also not really relevant but as a practicing researcher it is funny to see people not understand the bond between scientific partners#arcane#arcane s2 spoilers#skye arcane#viktor#jayce

shit. kaitlyn knows then and there that something is going to fuck up their perfect plan of escape. " what? let me see. " she steps closer to him, her hand taking his to turn his screen in her direction. it takes a long moment of narrowed eyes and a furrowed brow for her to make out the number, but eventually, she manages it. " you've got to be kidding me. that's actually highway fucking robbery. " realistically, it's probably something that kaitlyn should have expected on a night like tonight, but that doesn't keep her from being annoyed with the ride sharing company.
" what's up? " kaden's back once more, clearly drawn over by kaitlyn's tone as he's passing by.
" oh nothing. just uber wanting an arm, a leg, and probably our fucking firstborn for a ride. " she finally drops her hand from jake's, resting it on her hip instead.
" what the hell did you expect? " kaden scoffs, shaking his head. " you know you guys can crash here if you want. we finally got the guest bedroom furnished and let me tell you, that bed is nice. "
kaitlyn blinks at her brother a few times, then glances over at jake, trying to telepathically decide if taking kaden up on his offer is a good idea or not.
" c'mon, " kaden adds a bit more earnestly. " it'll make me feel better knowing you're both here and safe tonight. "
jake watches as the confetti crew moves on , then fixes kaitlyn with a soft smile. the joke is appreciated , even if it does seem a little forced. a yawn escapes him at the mere mention of the uber and he rubs a hand over his eyes. ' yeah , got it ... ' he murmurs , fishing his own phone from his pocket and pulling up the app. he's not that drunk , but he's definitely dealing with his fingers refusing to cooperate. ' shit. ' the swear falls from his lips , features scrunching. ' I dunno if you even want to know what they're saying this is gonna cost us ... '

Ok so I have been stewing this crossover au in my brain nonstop for the past few days and. I am nothing if not committed to the bit, so. Volume cover redraws :)
Here are the originals:
If you want to read more about my one piece spy x family crossover, keep reading!
So the idea is simple! Crossover reincarnation au where ASL is reborn in Spy x Family. Theyâre each born separately and none of them are born with the same names as their previous lives, and with no way of finding each other, they each find their own thing to do in the world.
Sabo, too used to the dangers of being a spy, eventually finds a cause to devote himself to again, in preventing war from engulfing the country he was reborn in. Ace, drawn to fire as he was in his previous life, used arson as a means to rob rich people for sustenance and survival, and is eventually scouted and hired by Garden as a fire specialist and assassin. And Luffy, though born in perhaps the poorest condition, grows up happily and takes whatever part time jobs he wants to do.
The thing about Sabo is that, as much as he seems like a young man of good repute and high standing within society, everyone in WISE knows that he is a massive nuisance. Nobody knew in the beginning how a child less than half the age of most of their veteran agents could have the same skills and knowledge in their profession. Sabo wasâ and still isâ hyper competent, and by the time WISE figured out just how much of a menace to society he was, it was too late.
Ace forgot for the first few years of his new life that he wasnât made of fire, and consequently, received multiple accidental burns. This did not deter him, however, from growing up to be a very skilled arsonist, well-practiced in every which way to start a dumpster fire or house fire. As a teenage he would use this often to draw attention as he robbed rich people blind. When he was caught, he was given an ultimatum by Garden: join them and receive payment for starting fires and causing problems under contract, or face the government and authorities for his crimes. Begrudgingly, he joined Garden, but eventually comes to appreciate that he can make substantial money in his element.
Luffy is Luffy. No telepathy or experimentation, no fancy schools, no gimmicks or secret identities. But he has still lived an extremely colorful life in this world, full of fascinating and kind individuals who have helped him grow up healthy and relatively happy. He goes where he is free, and he takes whatever part time jobs he wants in order to make the minimum he needs to survive.
Ace and Sabo find each other first, in their late teens, and neither of them realize that the other remembers their previous life, but both refuse to separate. (Sabo thinks Ace doesnât remember, because Ace didnât recognize him. Ace never saw Sabo grow up past 10, however, so he doesnât recognize older Sabo immediately. By the time he does realize who exactly Sabo is, Sabo has backtracked and pretends to know Ace from a dream, or from somewhere else.)
Saboâs attachment to Ace, predictably, causes problems between Sabo and WISE, but by then, Sabo is indispensable to the organization, and they make an exception for Sabo to be able to remain with Ace, so long as Ace never finds out what Saboâs actual job is. Ace, on the other hand, hides his job because he doesnât want his brother, who he has just found and who does not know Ace well enough yet, to know that he makes a living from killing people.
And they find Luffy sometime afterwards, prior to the beginning of the Spy x Family canon. Luffy figures out, not long after moving in with his brothers, both of his brothersâ secret occupations and the fact that both of them remember their past memories. He thinks it is common knowledge, however, and so he never brings it up.
#one piece#spy x family crossover#sabo#monkey d luffy#portgas d ace#crossover#I have so many ideas for this au#Iâll probably write like a drabble series for it#maybe. if I get around to it#extra things:#Loid and sabo get paired on a nonzero number of missions as siblings#they are only 6 years apart in age and theyâre both blond so WISE is like.. âitâs free real estateâ#every time this happens sabo finds a way to sneak into conversations that theyâre actually cousins instead#this annoys loid a LOT because he thinks sabo canât keep a cover to save his life. sabo is aware but he only has 2 brothers#and even in disguise he refuses to let someone else take ace and luffyâs place#aceâs codename within Garden is either âflame lilyâ or âpyracanthaâ#the latter being another name for the firethorn plant#yor has only heard of him in passing and has not met him in person before. but she knows that she is sent whenever he blunders and lets#someone see his face#Luffy is kind of just chilling! he takes a lot of part time jobs everywhere#to the point that loid is briefly worried that heâs a tail or stalker or something since he keeps seeing luffy around#Anya really loves playing with Luffy though because luffy has such vivid thoughts of the ocean and being a pirate#ok thatâs it for now#I am very. brainrotting

The way I feel about Shuro's crush on Falin is probably the same way fujoshis feels when a girl gets in the way of their yaoi ship
Like hey excuse me sir Falin and Marcille are trying to be lesbians here can you fucking leave
#dungeon meshi#dm is really good at not pushing any cishet ships to feel default. but shuro's crush on falin annoys me way beyond the fact farcille is#significantly better. the reason he fell for falin is kinda dumb and also everything he âlovesâ about falin he hates about laios#like sorry dude she is just like her brother. do you know her at all if you can't see it?#also laios is part of the deal you can't marry her and make him go away lol#dunmeshi#farcille#marcille donato#falin touden

little seiji must have thought shinobu hung the moon. based on the way he talks about her now, and the way he seems to have modeled kuromisa's appearance after her...like he needed to create an air of mystique that people would be drawn to and he immediately went well just dress up like nee-san. he worshipped her in that special younger sibling way. how did her resentment of him shape the person he's become? what did her leaving the clan do to him?
#and the fact that she must resent him specifically because he can see youkai and she can't?#when he's like. so invested in the ability to see youkai as a uniquely important form of strength?#and WHAT is their relationship now. like probably they avoid each other. are they trying to sabotage each other or not?#he's trying to poach her dogwalker...#a family can be a badass lesbian who hates cats her dog her dogwalker and#the annoying little brother who loves cats and is trying to steal her dogwalker <3#natsume's book of friends#matoba seiji#shinobu#my posts#natsume yuujinchou#auction arc#i don't even know if it really holds up that he modeled kuromisa after shinobu. like shinobu doesn't have a veil#but they're both wearing black and idk it just feels right for some reason. lol

He let out an annoyed breath. He didn't like how this was going; he didn't like fighting with her over this. He just was starting to feel like it wasn't as fair as it should be with them. Yes, he got Dev a lot. Dev did stay with him, and that was good. But the holidays were different. Everything had been with her and at her place. "I am not mad, Beyza. I am just upset. You can't see how I feel about this." he wasn't raising his voice as Beyza was at times. "And I am his father; yes, we both didn't go great not exchanging our information years ago, but That shouldn't make it so you get him more" because she had him the first few years. "No, I don't have a big place, but the dinner or Christmas morning can be just us, and later on, we both can do family things and make it work." It's not like he keep Dev all day long if he had Dev on one of the holidays. "You know you have said I can come over to the holidays, I can, but you know I have family here too?" he sighed he wanted his brother and cousins and other family to be around Dev for the holidays too. He wished he could pay for a bigger place, but he could not fix up a house. It was a lot on him, and he wasn't going to be able to get a bigger place any time soon, if ever. "But if I had to, my yard is nice. We can make the space and have everyone over, my family and yours," he said, looking over at Dev for a moment. "I don't want to fight, okay? I just please try and think about it, think if it was the other way around..." she wouldn't like it. He was sad about this, he just wanted to have his son too. @beyzaxalpman
"And you have. You're making bigger deals about things than you should be, though." Beyza said and rolled her eyes. "It definitely seems like you're mad about all this." She crossed her arms and felt her blood boil as Diego continued. They had never argued before, but there was a first time for everything. "Because I am his mom!" She said a little louder than she intended and it gained some looks from the other parents. She took a breath to calm down and she looked at her son's father. "I have spent every holiday with him and I don't know what it's like not to so do not compare me having him for two holidays and you having him. You don't get it. I still want it all with him and I'm making sure you get your time too. You are welcome to my place for these holidays and you can have him on Christmas Eve, which is also part of the holiday, this year. Next year we'll discuss other options as well, but this is all new for me and you getting upset at me for having a hard time letting go isn't what I need right now." She sighed and rubbed her head. "Besides, my place holds more and I have my family plus Emre and Seyda to think about. They all want Dev around for these holidays and want to see him too and they are here in town. Are you sure you want all of us at your place?" She asked him with a raised eyebrow. "It's obviously not fine with you. If it was, you wouldn't have said something." @diegoocastro

I need to watch Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure to reach my final conclusion on if she's even attracted to men
#girl help i keep thinking about sharpay and ryan being each others only friend growing up#theyre not very good at interpersonal relationships#romance is foreign to them. they dont care about playing romantic interests because they only view romance through the lens of theatre#fake. not real. an act to entertain an audience. so they dont understand why it would be weird#neither of them have ever kissed anyone#sharpay likes things that make her look better#because her whole life is a performance#so she wants troy because hes a shiny accessory to her#thinking about hsm 2 where once again when she tries to perform a romantic song (with troy this time and not her brother)#she still barely fucking looks at him#all of her attention is on the (nonexistent) audience#and ryan. ryan hm#ryan usually performs alongside sharpay#its usually an in universe performance. theyre on a stage. theres an audience#and all of his attention is on pleasing that audience#an exception to this is during the gay baseball song#where theres a different kind of audience BUT#ryan barely looks at them#most of his attention is directed solely to chad#talking flirting teasing being cocky and annoying but clearly addressing him directly through most of the song#first time this has happened with ryan. take that as you will#ANYWAY i can see sharpay as completely uninterested in romance but she hasnt realized that about herself#and she THINKS she wants it. because she sees it as glamorous#or maybe shes a lesbian i dont know#she might be a lesbian#the deciding factor is sharpays fabulous adventure#if she has chemistry with the guy in that movie then shes just repressed and clueless#if she doesnt shes aro#or possibly lesbian

What happens when your coworker kills your other coworker but both of you are in a relationship (kind of) with the same ethereal woman who had an admiration for said dead coworker.
+bonus Evandrey because itâs funny to me (Iâm sorry Eva.)
#pathologic#pathologic 2#andrey stamatin#yulia lyuricheva#eva yan#evandrey#yulieva#evaandrey#Eva yahn#Andrei Stamatin#see I think that Eva is very okay with Eva being how she is- promiscuous and spreading her love (Maybe a little jealous but more rooted in#self loathing and insecurities)#and sheâs like look Iâm okay with this whole open relationship (technically we arenât in a relationship even though I really want to be)#thing BUT why HIM. I have to work with him and heâs by far the worst man Iâve ever worked with (besides maybe his brother because at least#Andrey actually talks but really theyâre a package deal anyways) I need to have meetings with him often and itâs horrendous every time#like spread your love itâs noble really.#I wouldnât expect anything else from you#but maybe give him less heâs annoying as hell#I also think that sheâd figure out pretty quickly that Andrey and Peter killed Farkhad#just bcuz like. yk sheâs there. sheâs seen the already shaky relationship crumble beyond repair. sheâs seen them argue in meetings.#she knows the stamatwins are not above murder. especially for art. and sheâs clever.#And andrey knows that so he doesnât try to hide it. she doesnât have recourse anyways-#the kains (who I think helped cover up the murder) employ her too#and andrey respects her to a degree- he assumes sheâll see reason.#and honesty. Yulia might be upset that Andrey killed one of the only other architects but also she does not miss him that much.#sheâs like I donât agree with this whole murder thing but you are kind of right he had to go he was getting on my nerves#the meetings will be 10x more tolerable now that the twins canât argue with him about things that arenât even real#itâs awful but it did drive Eva further into my arms so necessary evils.#my art#sorry for the essay in the tags.

Nobody is forced to ship it but imo the biggest "pointers" are:
Some people see their jackets hanging together as a Brokeback Mountain reference (= a famous movie about a gay love story).
When Viktor looks into Vander's mind the first thing that pops up in Vander's mind is him and Silco as miners followed by an incredibly sappy "rose colored glasses" picture of young Silco looking cute with a little smile on his lips. It feels like a shorthand from the writers "this is the person Vander loved the most". It makes sense for the character of Vander to be haunted by how he attacked Silco so things like the nightmare picture of the disfigured Silco. But this memory of Silco just seems very cheesy and not very "back in the gold old times when my bro didn't hate me".
The line in the AU where Vander says Ekko should run this place which leads to Silco to pop up and say "So there's a chance for us yet" (imo refering to him and Vander based on body language) To me that just reads like a couple making plans.
Back in season 1 one if the animators went to Twitter and said that they were given a neutral script but chose to interpret them as bitter exes.
We know from season 1 that apparently Silco talked *excessively* about Vander even though Vander has been dead for years. So much that Jinx gets annoyed by how often he does it. "You told me a million times. [...] he was like a brother to you, and he turned his back and blah, blah, blah. Did I miss anything?"(and we know that whatever he told her about Vander made her think that it would have made a huge difference if Silco had found the letter.
Again you are not forced to interpret it like that, but imo that's why I think there's a good chance it is meant that way rather than just "I like it that way".
The reason why I like it that way was in season 1 that you had these two sisters who desperately wanted to make up but were at odds and Silco was sort of a symoblic of Jinx and Vander as a symbolic of Vi in what drives them apart. So those two opposing forces making up and creating a family again and healing the thing that imo clearly haunted both of them was just appealing to me. And Season 2 just takes it further into "Jinx has two dads" territory where Silco of course meant a lot to her, but apparently so does Vander so it's just cute that the happy AU is where Powder has two dads. I just think they would be two fun dads together who tease each other (Bozo no 1 and Bozo no 2).
So that's why I like it, but jackets, watercolor Silco and just the way Silco and Vander act with each other in that scene in the AU verse makes me think it might actually have been meant that way or at least be highly open and suggestive of that interpretation.
And in the end, people who like characters are just prone to shipping what they think makes the character happy and that AU shows them at their happiest and it with them together (rather than "AU where Vander or Silco married Felicia")
Basically, feel free to not ship it, but don't try to police people who do. For example, I also ship Ekko/Jinx and I also thought there were signs in season 1 of there being more to the story. Season 2 of course made it sort of canon. But even now there are people who don't like them even though we KNOW that Ekko is romantically interested in her and she likes him back in at least one universe. But people are still allowed to not like it or prefer another ship. They then go that it's just a phase or that Ekko doesn't really love Jinx. And people have a right to their other preferences. Just don't be an asshole to people just because they chose to see Ekko and Jinx as this tragical potential love or as just a dumb detour.
People are allowed to see different things as cute.
It seems everyone thinks Vander and Silco were in a relationship at some point. And they believe the alternate universe proves that.
I donât see it though. Iâve always read them as best friends who were practically brothers. Is there somthing Iâm not seeing? Did the creators confirm it and thatâs why everyone is shipping them? Iâm so confused. Even my sibling is saying they thought the were just brothers so itâs not just me.
I mean no disrespect but if someone could help me see what everyone else is seeing, I wouldnât mind a conversation. I just personally donât see it at all. I just see two brothers who had a terrible falling out and only in another universe did they manage to reconcile.
I really hope I donât get shit on for this đ

something about billy being an annoying older brother
like just walking into maxâs room to grab a tube of lipgloss she never uses and pretending he canât hear her shouting at him as he walks out
him tying his hair up with one of her scrunchies while heâs lifting weights and her coming out to yell at him about the fact heâs sweating all over it, dickhead
max stealing the last cookie and licking it so billy wonât eat it and him snatching it anyway because itâs billy and he simply does not give a shit
billy teaching max to play basketball and calling her a shortass every time she misses a shot and ruffling her hair into a birds nest when she scores
him walking into maxâs room to tell her dinnerâs ready and refusing to shut the door on the way out just because he knows it pisses her off
#billy hargrove#he calls her pippi longstocking when she wears braids and she kicks him in the shin#he IS annoying and i think thatâs a fun personality trait#i think itâs funny him just being an asshole in such a brother way yk#billyâs that sibling that comes into your room to talk and ends up pushing you off the bed for fun#el seeing all of this and thinking itâs actually kinda funny because she knows heâs doing it on purpose#but sheâs gotta be on maxâs side for girl reasons billy gets it
