I also have thoughts on why Six dropped Mono! Hint! It was not a cold, calculated decision!

For the entire game Mono helps Six and Six helps Mono, so why would this change at the very end?

It obviously starts with the Thin Man's appearance, they both run and hide but when Six gets discovered and reaches out for Mono what does Mono do? He covers his ears and puts his head down, leaving Six to be captured.

He obviously regrets this as he goes after Six and even battles the Thin Man to save her, but Six doesn't know this.

The next time she sees Mono she's been warped by the tower and is likely being manipulated, similarly to the Viewers with the TV's, but she still trusts him! Even after he abandoned her when he calls Six comes to him and shows Mono her music box, an item she is obviously protective over.

And what does Mono do? He smashes it. Over and over again, even as Six is increasingly defensive/aggressive, until he literally shouts at her so that he can finally destroy it.

Mono is doing this to save her, but all Six knows is he abandoned her, reunited with her only to wreck her comfort item, and then she's turned back to normal with no time to process this as the tower starts collapsing around them and they're forced to run for their lives.

And then we get to the final scene, Mono jumps, Six catches him and then...Six drops him.

I don't think this was a decision made out of fear for Mono's abilities, or cold calculation about him being a liability.

I think Six dropped him because Mono hurt her.

The crucial thing is Six and Mono are both kids. Normal kids make stupid, impulsive decisions because their feelings are hurt, because for them, that might be the worst thing they have ever experienced. Six and Mono live in a nightmare world where they could die at any time. Is it any wonder Six made a snap decision?

Six was hurting, so she got rid of the person hurting her. It wasn't fair to Mono, who was genuinely trying to help her, but it also isn't fair to blame Six for her decision.

Maybe she regrets it, maybe she doesn't. Hell, maybe she doesn't let herself regret it.

Six is not a cold calculating monster. She's just a kid, a fucked up, deeply traumatized kid.

More Pokémon Horizons Episode 25 spoilers under the cut!

As much as I laughed from how this played out like an unintentionally comedic moment---can I mention how much this actually does to separate Amethio from the rest of the Explorers; how he's actually honorable and respects Friede as a rival of sorts?

The rest of the Explorers tend to use underhanded tricks to get what they want (Spinel brainwashing Liko and attempting to wipe her memory, Onyx and Sango trying to overwhelm the others against direct orders whilst causing the destruction of everything else around them), but Amethio has been unique in how he's regarded as 'by the books' (by Friede) and constantly tries to be on equal footing with his opponent- even if it means putting himself at the disadvantage when he has more resources to utilize.

He could've very easily overwhelmed Friede by having both of his mons attack at once (given how Captain Pikachu hadn't arrived yet)---and yet he- doesn't. Which is just so interesting to me as he's meant to have a similar goal as the rest of the Explorers (which is to retrieve the pendant/Terapagos by any means necessary).

So in this case, was it really a matter of defeating Friede so that he could easily confront Liko afterwards,,, or,,,,, was he trying to prove himself somehow? 👀✨✨✨
