Wars and Wild as knights in Lu

They have issues.

I have a lot of thoughts on Wild and Wars and their relationship (Order of this post is talking about saluting, Wild and Wars' different perspectives, memory issues, and fire) Rant time.

No saluting!!

So Wild took a formal- almost/awkwardly saluting pose when Wars confronted him in 'Entrance pt.2'

It's similar to the first time Wild addressed Wars as 'captain'. His left hand is up from where a salute should be, and his overall posture is awkward, with his shoulders and right hand raised, but it's clear he's trying to do a salute in the presence of a fellow knight.

In the second example his hand is behind his head, but his posture is very straight and his right arm stiff- he's again attempting a formal saluting position. Which is still awkward

It is less clear but his changes in posture clued me in. He goes from like a deer in the headlights to visibly sweating to straight backed and looking up at Wars- looking at the changes in his body language

Side note but I literally love how Jojo draws the champions tunic so much-

We can't see the action of Wild's body language in a comic, just the positions he went to. But he visibly leaned away from Wars before switching to a straight backed saluting-like posture. He's clearly freaked out, hence Twilight's face: >:(

I think that Wild taking somewhat military poses around Wars is important to their relationship issues because it comes from his struggle with memory and identity

I adore Wars. He is baby and I love him. I think it is also important to acknowledge that he would not speak to any of the others this way.

Why is Wars talking to Wild like this? He's called him out and reprimanded him multiple times in front of the others. Wild has taken it well but tbh if it was Legend I think he would be on fire.

To some extent I think he is in captain mode. I think that he has trouble seeing Wild as not a knight. Wars gives Wild respect as a knight who sacrificed for his kingdom, but now it seems he's taking it away as a knight who's not doing well enough since he 'disregarded the plan'

At least I think that's the outside (or Wild's) view of it. But Wars internally really cares about Wild and he saw him run up to a giant and lose it. Different ways of showing concern perhaps?

Who wouldn't want to keep Wild from getting more scars?

I just. Don't doubt for a second Wars really cares about Wild- even if the way he's acting still isn't cool. He has no right to treat him like a soldier any more than the rest of the chain, and right now I think Wild is acting as the more mature person.

Wild

I adore Wild. He is baby and I love him. I think it is also important to acknowledge that although he is clearly making efforts after Twilight's injury, Wild has ignored Wars for the majority of Lu, by not speaking to him much, and not thanking or acknowledging Wars when he directly helped him. (Small example being walking with Hyrule not Wars when injured and not directly responding to Wars)

Wars cares about and respects Wild, but it seems Wild wants nothing to do with him, and he's been cold towards Wars for the majority of Lu. To Wild, Wars reminds him of his perceived failure. Which is valid feelings, but still not fair. And I think that ask is talking about these two.

The thing I love about this is each of them are right and wrong in some ways, leading to the tension between them. So fully blaming either of them is not logical

The rest of the chain is just vibing. Except twilight who's mad and wants them to just grow up, but. Heros of courage not wisdom @uniquevoidflowers ;)

Wild's identity and memory issues exacerbate all of this

In Entrance, Twilight is being stressed and defensive, that's ok. What concerns me most is that Twilight has talked with Wild through stuff like this in his rough moments

Wild has tried to be formal several times- he is not very good at it

Wild isn't and can't be 'him'- the same 'perfect' (<actually has crippling anxiety) knight he was before, and Twilight knows this. And I agree with him a bit, I think, that Wars is making things worse in Wild's mind by being that perfect soldier, and seemingly holding Wild to a standard he isn't

Wild's attempts at saluting is symbolic of that- Wars makes him feel like a failure trying to be the person he should be. But Wild shouldn't be anyone but himself.

Anyways. Fire.

Wars and Wild have issues, and I want them to work through all their relationship drama so they can reach their PEAK dynamic, which is obviously this

I mean like. We need these two to be friends

Anyways. Wild is in this constant state of identity crisis, and being around Wars has not been beneficial- neither of them is or has been showing the other the respect they deserve. Not as knights, but as people and brothers. They need a get along shirt.

the first episode of fhjy was such a fucking blast. one of my favorite moments was most of the bad kids succeeding on their saving throws against being Frightened by the Night Yorb but Adaine failed, and when Brennan asked Siobhan how this looks/feels for Adaine, Siobhan was answered “i feel a panic attack coming on.”

and it’s like. as much as Adaine has changed since the beginning, it’s really refreshing to see that her anxiety disorder didn’t vanish with her character development. like, they’re acknowledging how that kinda stuff doesn’t just go away — you can’t really get over it so easily. Love u forever Adaine & Siobhan <3

still dont see how so many people say that dawntrail is poorly written in comparison to other expansions like. what, did you realize you had to learn about a new culture and immediately not care anymore lmao? you've done it before, was this one not white enough for you?

genuinely i think more people should do side quests during msq so idk you can form a heart about the characters you're interacting with if you struggle with that and understand the land better so when impactful shit happens your illiterate ass can actually read and have empathy. theres no excuse for this.

if you can't handle storybuilding and character introductions from the expansion that feels like stormblood and shadowbringers had passionate gay sex that got one of them pregnant and birthed a beautiful daughter they both love and care about then idk what to tell you, maybe youre just lame and can't read. best of luck with that.

in light of tedtrent becoming so real, im also jumping on the tedtrent epilogue 😊

there's just no way ted wouldn't keep in touch with the others (and have weekly zoom meetings just like in the christmas special) and I just love the thought of the whole team having reunions once in a while.

and going back to trent's arc in s3, the sunflowers conversation, "And your daughter?" "She's never been happier." I think it could go the same for ted.. we've never really properly saw how henry felt about his dad being in london, it's always other people that told ted his son misses him, who's to say henry would rather see his dad happy because that in turn would make him happy too? he was there to win the whole thing, right? I just know ted’s story isn’t done yet when he still hasn’t learned to let others take care of him in return and who else to pair him with than the man who blew up his career because a man was nice to him (and also because they were so. so cruel for the fakeout tedbecca scenes for that finale) 🥺

I'm no writer so just pretend these are snapshots of a slow burn fic where ted visits london for their team reunion and slowly realizes that trent has a crush on him and they kiss about it 💛

Reminder to everyone that it is ok to not brush your teeth for more than a day, whether it's a couple days, a week, a month, no matter if it's because you forgot or don't have the spoons or something like that, you aren't a failure, you aren't a horrible person or whatever others say.

But if you haven't cleaned em, please clean them as soon as you're able, if you can't brush them try mouth wash, or rubbing your teeth with toothpaste on your finger (you can also get toothbrushes for putting on your finger!), If you don't like the taste, try a flavoured one (doesn't matter if it's kids toothpaste or one of those fancy ones they have like a million types now, all you have to do is order it online or go to your local chemist, supermarket, ect.)

You could even give yourself smt cool to do when you do it idk, if that helps, go for it.

And you don't have to do it at a specific time either, if taking a toothbrush and toothpaste to school or work means you do it, do that!

It's not a moral failing to negate oral care (or any personal hygiene, for that matter), but you do need to take care of yourself and your teeth because there's far more effort and money you have to put in if you get a cavity or some other thing cause you haven't brushed the mouth stones, plus it hurts!

I realize I haven't said this, so let me do it now: this blog is a safe space for weird people. This is a safe space for plurals, systems (no matter the origin), alterhumans, LGBTQ+ people of all kinds, neurodivergent folks, the mentally ill, regressors (pet, age, or otherwise) and so many other groups I didn't list. How well do you think the reader would be able to hide their injuries from the harbingers? Or rather, how long do you think they’d be able to hide it? The harbingers are bound to find out eventually — either on their own or some lowly Fatui agent tells them about reader’s condition — it’s just a matter of when.

I imagine it’d be even harder for fragile!reader to hide new injuries. The Harbingers are all so attentive towards them it’d be hard to hide anything at all, much less anything that involves reader’s condition :,))

I had this idea where reader is trying to hide a small gash on their palm from Dottore, and everything seems to be going really well because he hasn’t caught up yet, but then it’s time for a routine check, and when he discovers the new bandages on readers palm he’s like, “hmm, I don’t patching up their hand recently, so they must have done this themselves. But why didn’t they tell me about it? I could have helped!” and then he tenderly applies soothing salves and re-wraps their hand, but not before making reader promise not to hide any injuries from him in the future

Not well or long at all I'm afraid. Being attentive and observant runs in their blood, they need to with their line of work. It's just a matter of their personality though... For example, when Scara notices something's off with you, he'll just pester you until you tell him, like 'hmph, just tell me already, i can already see this is going to affect our day' or 'stop being stubborn and let me help you idiot.' Overall once he figures out you're acting funny (which is pretty quick since once he's in love he notices things about you easily) he'll find out about your injury quickly and then get mad at you for hiding it 🫠 but not in a truly mad way, just going off about how you were dumb to do that, the injury could have gotten worse, etc. He's just a worried bb. Arlecchino is kind of similar, but not in the loud pestering way... she's quiet herself but that makes her be observant of you and your mannerisms ten times more. And as soon as her hawk eyes notice sometimes off (once again quickly because literally nothing gets past her in general) she'll just sit you down and request for you to explain to her what's wrong, probably won't let you leave until you come clean 😭 As for Columbina she finds out on accident. She always loves to drape and cling to your body so one day she just places weight on your injury and you groan a bit at the pressure... and well you've just blown it since now she definitely knows.

Pantalone is also the kind of guy to notice right away and ask you if everything is alright. If you lie he'll just smile and nod but then catch you in the act of changing bandages or in pain... making you want to disappear into nothing because wow that's kinda embarrassing. He'd gently chide you for trying to hide these kinds of things for him (there's nothing to be embarrassed of he says, you only deserve the absolute best) and make sure you get proper care asap. I feel like Capitano is the kind of guy to always be scrutinizing your body for even the tiniest of wounds, just because you're super tiny compared to him and he thinks you're hella fragile 😭 He's always worried something is going to happen to you (he's losing his mind over a papercut, i can't imagine an actual injury) so again... he's noticing very fast lol. La Signora is similar in always looking and taking care of your body, mostly because of all the skincare and beauty routines she helps you with almost every night so erm... good luck on trying to hide that from her! At least you're getting the most high-quality treatment and massage from her later, also a lecture on how you should be more careful with yourself.

I think maybe Pierro would take the longest to notice, only because he's swamped with work and doesn't get to see you too often. But sometimes you'd come to visit him in his office until you stop doing that so he gets a bit worried for you. When he sends an agent to check on you he honestly feels pretty terrible that you got hurt and he didn't even know about it... or could protect you. Sandrone too, sometimes she gets so involved and into her machinery and lab work she doesn't notice the stuff you do. Until one of her little machines pulls at her dress and won't stop nudging her in your direction, and that's when she takes a closer look at you and realizes you're not in the best of shape.

For Childe I think he'll notice something is off but won't press it until you're ready, he understands that you have some things you want to keep private. But if you exhibit a few signs of pain in front of him he'll quickly connect the dots because he himself tends to hide injuries from you so you don't worry. Though he's used to dealing with toughies (his siblings would get hurt and then try to hide it from him and end up crying in the end too) he would firmly yet gently lecture you about how serious injuries can become and you need to get help, whether by him or someone else. Seeing you hurt also hurts him especially, he should be the one getting injured not you. Well for Papanella of course you are like his child so he always has people watching you jump all over the place so he will be the first person to approach you and (lovingly) scold you for your injury.

And well Dottore... perhaps the quickest because not only is he a doctor but he also has a dozen other versions of him running around checking on your condition 24/7... ALSO SCREAMING THAT IDEA W DOTTORE IS SO FREAKING CUTE. The only way you'd get away with it is not seeing him for a few days... but even then when he sees you again he immediately notices the wrapped hand and is like ??? When and how and why did this happen and why was he not notified? He's a bit taken aback since he's always updated on your condition, with your health he needs to be. At the same time, he's like, kinda impressed that you managed to get that bandaged all by yourself without him or his clones noticing... did you really not want him to know that badly? Obviously, he's gonna interrogate you on the injury 😭 he's not exactly mad at you... just upset that you hid it from him... your body is fragile and not in the best of state, you need medical treatment even for the littlest of things.

After he does all of his doctor stuff, he lectures you on why you can't hide injuries from him and how it's simply not good for you, to which you confess you hate bothering him for tiny things like this. That most people would just slap a bandaid on it and call it a day, it wouldn't affect them, but it hurts you much more than that, which just... makes you feel terrible. To that he remains quiet for a bit, then puts you in his lap to reassure you with sternness and a touch of gentleness, firmly saying he will always want to attend to you, he wants to know about every single thing that happens to you. Having you in pain makes him feel the foreign feeling too. (When that's over you ask him to kiss it better, he rolls his eyes but when you're asleep he does it anyway)

It also depends on how well you hide your pain from your injury... even if you don't show any reactions outwardly in pain the Harbingers will notice if you have a bruise or cut on your body since they have every detail of your body memorized... they're obsessed with you like that. So... final verdict, it'll be quick for all of them lol

It's a shame that one of my most prevalent thoughts following that episode is how much shit I'm sure Matt will be getting on twitter.

Friendly reminder to all that this is a web show. A fictional character has died. Yes, a beloved character, but one that is fictional nonetheless. Unlike the cast, who are real human beings playing out their story. If any of the cast felt that the circumstances were truly unfair they would discuss it amongst themselves in private and sort it out like mature and civilized human beings. Harassing the people who put so much love and work into the show, who feel all the highs and lows just as you do, if not more so, does nothing but spread pointless negativity. Go sleep, hydrate, eat, do something to bring your mood up etc etc.
