After some thinking I decided to actually post this ask for anyone who could be interested to read your work. Anything Ortho-related is so underappreciated, and after the discussion we had via asks a couple of weeks ago, I think it’s only fair to share in this specific case.

We do have one post about Jack/Vil, and it’s a hc post, but it’s 8 months old oops. But I still stand by everything I’ve said there lol so you can check it out of you haven’t already.

Jack and Vil could easily be each other’s first crushes, and honestly a handsome polite boy who doesn’t even watch TV is probably the best candidate for a young star that is Vil to have a first attempt at kissing with. It would also be a nice contrast to their other first time, because even though they were on the same page when they were younger, now Vil is the more experienced one of the two, and he’s probably going to enjoy guiding Jack as they do it. Well, if Jack gets overwhelmed, horned up and feral, there won’t be much guidance going on, but in theory lol I feel like Vil is the “oneesan” type partner in this ship.

open for wenclair ficlet requests

i just finished the show yesterday and i'm itching to write them, but i have yet to come up with my own ideas lol so if anyone has anything they want written, hmu! if you need examples of my writing, you can check my writing tag #clod not lefting but or my ao3. My writing tag is mostly links to stuff on my ao3, but there's some other stuff in there, too. at this moment, however, i do not have anything wenclair. i would like to fix that. also, i do write nsfw, but i'd like to keep this blog mostly sfw.

my thoughts on wednesday, enid, and wenclair under the cut, in case anyone is curious about it before requesting something:

Wednesday dislikes emotion (both in others and in herself) but she isn't so emotionally constipated that she can't understand them. I think it's funny to think of Wednesday being like "I am experiencing an Emotion? I am having Feelings? What is this Sorcery? I do not understand. Must kill with fire." However, she has Morticia and Gomez for parents… So I think she does know what romantic love is and how to identify it. She has just decided that that is not for her. I can understand her denying and refusing to indulge in romantic feelings or simply disliking the entire thing, but I don't think emotions are alien to her. Furthermore, she's a writer and a detective. Both require understanding human emotions to analyze motives. She may have a blind spot for herself/willfully ignore traces of it that reside in herself, but she isn't completely unfamiliar with the concept of Human Emotion.

Enid is very anxious and self-conscious about how others see her, but she also has a difficult time staying quiet and not speaking her thoughts out loud. And inside, she prioritizes being true to herself more than she does fitting into the mold. This means that she might care about what other people think and crave validation and acceptance, but at the end of the day, no matter how much she may wish she could take the easy way out and just do as she's told, she will choose to rebel in order to stand for what she thinks is right. I also think her colorful style is a sign that she enjoys standing out. She's afraid of negative attention and being rejected, but craves positive attention. Unlike Wednesday, who does not care about attention one way or another. This means, once again, her priority isn't really fitting into the mold. She wants to be accepted, sure, because she's anxious and fears rejection, but she's struggling hard to find and express her own unique identity. So, paradoxically, she cares a lot about what other people think and seeks approval, but at the same time refuses the boxes they want to put her in. She is very unapologetically herself even though sometimes her anxiety makes her wish she wouldn't be because it can make things harder for herself.

I am flexible on who initiates first for wenclair. I can see it going both ways.

I think Wednesday has a secret romantic streak and a not-so-secret penchant for melodrama that, combined, makes her a very good sweep-you-off-your-feet, intense, whirlwind romance love interest for enid.

On the flipside, I can totally see Enid having a secret bloodthirsty streak to match Wednesday's.

I might add more to this later but that's all I got off the top of my head

I'm gonna be real, this was a 2009 movie I saw in Hawaii off of Netflix......*DVD Netflix*. This came in a little envelope. I watched it. I mailed it back. Good times. Old times. Old old times.

So, like, I remember really liking it, and I checked the wiki and I think the story remains interesting, and the presentation is Special. I suggested it to you in the day and bring it up every now and then. It's kinda pithy, but I respect its moxie and I think you'd enjoy hating it if nothing else.

18) An Animated Movie: My Neighbors the Yamadas

My Neighbors the Yamadas gets passed by constantly in the Studio Ghibli family. It's not hard to see why, it's completely off-model--the animation is no less beautiful, but it's simple and accessible, and instead of being a fantasy story, it's a series of vignettes around one family.

But it's an extraordinary family! Yamadas bursts with Ghibli charm, and it leaves you with that soul-cleansed feeling afterward, that you've been a part of something worth being part of.

Moum and I watched this together in the day (Netflix DVD era, summer, not college) and it was just...cozy. This is the Ghibli movie for cozy-gamers, and for families. Not "for family entertainment", very often a cold and lousy thing, but for, comma, families.

Also, there's cake!

20) A Musical: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang......?

This is all one movie, Mike. ...apparently.

So, like, I didn't have a lot for musicals. I feel like if anyone, including me, remembers this movie, it's by the Child Catcher, who literally lures children into a truck with candy. That having been said, there's a *lot* more weirdness to this thing I have apparently totally forgotten, plus Dick van Dyke Dick van Dyking it up, so, like, can't go wrong on those parameters.

AU ASK! imagine your muse in the last movie or show you watched. how are they? are they any different?

     Well this is an interesting ask to get as I’m in the midst of screencaping for Lego Mon.kie Kid muses fsdjlds so LMK au for this guy it is !

     Wondertainment would be... in terms of personality not different !  In terms of abilities, I’d say they get pretty nerfed, my lack of knowledge in Journ.ey to the We.st   ( original story that LMK is based off of that   including a LOT of stuff   talks further in detail about the technical / lore aspect of this world )   is biting me here but they’d probably some kind of yaoguai/demon ?  Immortal and knows the 72 transformations ( basically allows him to shape shift )      probably a very old and skilled crafter who knows how to make all kinds of potions / spells / magical items !   As the centuries progress to modern area, I can see them starting Wondertainment business where all the toy products may or may not be cursed but don’t worry about it.

     Unless theres’s a s.cp in the universe, as well Wondertainment probably keeps it more lowkey as to not bring the Celestial Realm / Heaven / Deities slash immortals  down to stop him.    Probably allies himself with other demons / demon kings and provides them with powerful objects in return for materials / protection or something also.

     Also probably has collected a lot of titles like Toy Demon King / Shifter Demon Queen / etc. as a treat

     Basically nerfed Wondertainment  ( going off of usual interp of class 5 reality warper thing )  who’s more of a team players  and also is a single entity / has more world-logic based abilities but still causes problems on purpose for entertainment reasons :)

i saw that post about rabies again and i want to share some things i learned from the book “rabid: a cultural history of the world’s most diabolical virus” yes i typed all of this from memory with some minor fact checking but yeah disclaimer if anything is inaccurate 

rabies is a super super old virus! it’s been around for basically ever and had been identified by the unique symptom of hydrophobia (fear of water). someone suffering rabies will not be able to drink which causes them to salivate more and the virus spreads via the saliva in a bite wound or even small cracks in the skin. 

rabies was until relatively recently thought to be 100% fatal. it still pretty much is (elaboration later) by the time symptoms begin to develop. from the time of a bite, it usually takes weeks (even months) for the virus to travel to the brain. vaccination before the onset of symptoms is key!

rabies in humans does not really cause us to start biting people. we are “dead end” rabies hosts who do not spread the virus. you may remember from high school lit class that in the zora neale hurston book their eyes were watching god, the character tea cake was bit by a rabid dog and then attacked and bit janie. basically this does not happen with human rabies victims. 

HOWEVER, human rabies victims especially male ones can become hypersexual and have been known to ejaculate 30+ times per day. RIP.

dogs are a perfect rabies host since they produce a lot of drool and they do bite, and they live closely with humans, therefore being the most typical link to rabies in humans. 

the phrase “hair of the dog” (a hangover “remedy” in which you drink alcohol the next morning) comes from a folk rabies treatment in which dog hair is burned and the ashes applied to the bite wound

rabies was the direct inspiration for the zombies (called “vampires”) in the book “i am legend” (you might know the will smith movie) which established the modern horror zombie. 

the rabies vaccine was developed by louis pasteur in 1885. rabies was not a large cause of death at the time (it's always been relatively rare) but it’s a particularly terrifying one (if you had been bit you’d have to wait for a month to know if you had contracted rabies, and if you did it was a death sentence) so this was how pasteur chose to prove the merit of vaccines to the public, a pretty new concept, after he created the anthrax vaccine. it was sort of a publicity stunt. 

the first human recipient of the rabies vaccine was a french boy who had been bit by a dog. apparently he was delighted by all the animals he met in the lab while he stayed there for two weeks to receive daily shots. he survived and it took the world by storm! shortly after, a couple american kids were shipped over to france to retrieve the vaccine after they had been bit, and they also survived.

okay, let’s return to that asterisks about the fatality rate once symptoms onset. there have been cases of people who have survived after receiving a partial course of the vaccine by the time they developed symptoms, but there was never a known case of someone surviving without any intervention -- until the early 2000s when a girl from wisconsin survived after being put in a medically induced coma. this is called the milwaukee protocol and it’s actually debated whether or not it really is the cause of people surviving -- there’s now some evidence that some people might have a natural predisposition to survive -- since it’s only worked in about 30% of the cases it’s been tried on. 

one final fact for the road: one of the theories behind edgar allen poe’s mysterious death is rabies.

The music of Blindspot 2x01 - In Night So Ransomed Rogue (Updated)

I'm a dork who likes soundtracks. I've been searching and collecting music from the show for myself, so I thought I'd share. I'll link background music wherever I've been able to find it (using primarily YouTube as I don't have spotify etc; hmu if you have links to add!).

All music is composed by Blake Neely and Sherri Chung; I'm getting nothing out of this except maybe my own notes made legible, for a change. Please tread lightly around the YouTube links as I don't want to get the OPs in trouble or we could lose access to this awesome content. Thank you! :)

Posts will be behind a cut, because most of these posts will be long and I'll be referring to specific scenes so... spoilers!

Edit Note! Now that we're further into re-watch, I've got my bookmarks and files in far better order, and happily, I've learned my way around tumblr a bit more. Being just generally so much better organized, these posts are less necessary to me now than they were at the start, when I was leaning very heavily on them as a means to sort out a truly shocking mess in my bookmarks, meaning I can focus a lot more on the thematic links. I've edited this post in that light (and had fun while I was at it), so time permitting, I will do others as I go along. :D

Like absolutely everything about this first episode (for anyone who couldn't already tell from the rest of my nonsense, it is EASILY my favorite and I love it sfm), the music is AMAZING and was fairly easy to collect as most of the new themes were available on their own (later episodes borrow and quote and all sorts). It's also got the first introduction of what is, imo, one of the key pieces from the whole series, Torn Apart - including the Remi and Roman theme.

Tortured - self-explanatory; this is the music accompanying the opening montage up to Jane's escape and the rolling of the titles. Of note is that a variation of this track was first heard in the opening moments of 1x23, as Jane washes Mayfair's blood down the drain and Kurt remembers his father's confession. Tortured, indeed. The earlier version can be heard in See You On The Other Side from the official season 1 OST.

Main Theme - I think have a cut of just the theme somewhere but I can't find it atm (will edit again if I do). It's officially released and purchasable on the Season 1 OST; can be heard in "Who is Jane Doe?/Main Theme" starting at approx 2:20.

Motorcycle Chase - up until "Laura Moses, you're under arrest."

Nas' arrival/'Jane Doe has escaped' briefing - The music accompanying Nas' arrival is worth noting, although I can't find a recording of it, as it comes up again at a key moment later in the season. The latter quotes from one of the show's main themes, 'Ink'.

Van scene - Most of it quotes from 'Tortured', above.

Have to Shoot Me - The infamous motel hallway scene, starting right after the ad-break/cut. I defy anyone to not hear the dialogue in their head. Holy mackerel the feels.

Ultimate Polygraph - Pretty self-explanatory again. You'll hear 'Ink' again in there as well, when they talk about Mayfair. Covers to the end/fade to Kurt's office. This one comes up at various points in the series later on, so it's something to watch out for. :D I believe it's based on an unreleased track from season 1. Well, I know it's in season 1... I think in the scene when Weitz is laying out his case against Mayfair, but I'd have to go back and check.

Kurt's Office/"You know, when I was a little girl..." to "Then let's make them pay" - I think I have the latter half of this somewhere buuuuut. Well, I'll edit if I find it.

Making the plan/Making the call/"I can do it"/Fancy tracker/"We have to talk about this."

Meeting Roman - It's our favourite brother figure and oh look, it's a snippet from 'Ink' in there, too.

"For Mayfair" - The team agreeing to work together scene.

DUI Checkpoint - We all love a good video game timed-button-press sequence but alas I've not located the dramatic 80s synth at the end nor the bit when they're switching cars.

Black Hole - When the team is in Patterson's lab looking at Mayfair's drive with Nas, up until the scene ends with "they've got a fun vibe so far." It's very funky! IMO one of the better standalone pieces this season.

Jane and Roman at the hospital, Kurt and Nas in the office, Roman taking Jane "somewhere safe", "Stop yelling it's not helping me code!" "You think I'm working for them?" etc, up to "I'm Shepherd. I'm your mother."

Torn Apart - As heard in the "Jane meets Shepherd" scene. I absolutely had to single this piece out. It's by far the most notable piece in the whole episode and in fact is probably one of the most important and oft-thematically-quoted pieces this season if not the entire series, as it comes back again and again and again throughout. I could honestly rave about this piece all day, and in following posts you'll probably find that I do. Why? It's complex, it's layered, and it weaves elements from season 1 together with a whole bunch of new little melodies and beats that rapidly come to fully represent different characters and situations. To break it down a little:

At approx 0:34, you'll hear a little percussion ditty that is carried forward from season 1, and generally seems to have come to represent Jane's connection to Weller (and in this season, the FBI more generally). Noteable prior examples include 0:30 into The Truth Can Save You - the "Jeller theme", which makes sense - but also in Learn to Trust, a track from the end of 1x11 when Jane has to make the fateful decision whether to meet Weller in the park or Oscar at the tower. In the latter, it's only there for a moment, and on-screen it disappears the moment Oscar appears. (Both those tracks are up for purchase on the Season 1 OST, btw.) It seems pretty significant here in season 2, as its presence or absence in any mix of Torn Apart at any point generally corresponds pretty closely with Jane's conflicted loyalties. In particular, in instances where Jane is really leaning into her connection to Roman, that Jeller sound is just. not. there. It comes and goes from this scene, disappearing for most of it once Shepherd starts telling Jane about her past, and reappearing just as Shepherd declares that they're sending her back to the FBI. It's just... *chef's kiss*.

At approx 0:58, there's a new three-tone sound introduced that seems to tie to Roman specifically. It comes up a lot at various points, including its very prominent use at the end of season 3. On screen in this episode, it's introduced just as Jane hears the names Roman and Remi for the first time, and finds out he's her brother.

At approx 1:40, the distorted "voice of the real Jane" is heard, as she remembers Oscar's death on screen.

Lastly, at approx 2:50, when Roman pulls Jane in for a hug - the first real affection or kindness anyone has shown her since before Mayfair died - you have the first instance of what I would call the Remi and Roman theme, which itself is underpinned by the aforementioned three tones of Roman. SUPER GUT-WRENCHING, and an absolutely beautiful crescendo to finish the piece. Honestly. I love this track sfm.

Anyway. Moving on...

"More than anything" - THIS MOMENT. 😭 If you want another musical gut-punch, here it is. Nas leaves the room, and Jane asks Weller, "Why didn't you tell me about the tooth?" And they've brought back the beginning of Under Cover, from 1x09. That's right folks; "More than anything" is set to the same soft tones as the first moment he saw her in that dress.

Nathan Bateman’s Bathroom: Luna Goes Way Too Hard

Canon vs. Headcanon + about this post: his bedroom is underground, so if he has an en suite it might be similarly windowless, and possibly even quite Spartan. I think the complex may have multiple bathrooms though (and I’ve realised I imagined at least three different ones in my head for different fics), so if we’re bending the rules a little to imagine a bathroom that makes the most of the setting, I think the moodboards suggest the general aesthetic I have in my head. Basically, since none of the pics I found were 100% accurate, and because I’m a huge NERD, I also followed up with lengthy descriptions no-one asked for. (Look, I never promised I wasn’t over-invested... and not just in the character of Nathan and in the movie, but ALSO? The architecture / design / setting of that house is my dream, and I’m a bit of a geek about interiors and especially how they link with characters so I’m sorry if you REGRET EVER ASKING!) Of course, if anyone has other thoughts on this, or other questions I can go WAY too deep on hmu! 🧡

Bathroom mood/vibe: efficient / understated / minimalist / slightly clinical edge. Decadent but in a very subtle way. Not flashy- luxurious more because of the materials, setting, design etc. rather than anything “in your face”. Not cosy exactly, but don’t get me wrong- everything is high-end- heated floors, amazing water pressure and settings, softest towels.

Colours: raw concrete, slate grey, stone beige, wood colours, maybe a hint of teal/copper but very subtle.

Textures/materials: It’s not exactly a cosy / warm room in some ways, but the natural textures soften it a lot and make it oddly comforting. Think raw concrete, exposed rock. Glass, obviously, with the floor to ceiling wall of windows. Accents of slatted wood-panelling reminiscent of a steam room. Natural textures in accessories e.g. wood bath tray, soap dish. Amber glass pump bottles- no plastic to be seen! Maybe a hint of marble. Nothing too shiny, not even the shower fixtures- maybe black!? And nothing that looks like it isn’t meant to be there or isn’t in-keeping with the natural textures... anything too modern will be hidden somewhere seamlessly. Nathan doesn’t have a lot of tech on display for a tech genius...

Shapes: sharp lines and boxy shapes, and everything very uniform, contrasting with the naturalness of the exposed stone and outdoor scenery (parallels with the whole theme of natural vs. manmade in the movie). Boxy shapes but everything integrated into something else if possible, adding to the sense of elegance and efficiency, e.g. boxy shelves set directly into walls, or ledges popping-out to form benches. Maybe a long countertop the length of one wall with the sink set into it. Lots of continuous lines and shapes rather than items plonked around with no coherency.

Wow factor: that view though! Imagine either a free-standing or sunken tub at the far end of the room (I asked irl husband and he said maybe the bath even disappears into the floor when it’s not in use and then it’s just a giant wet room!) with a whole wall of windows looking out over the stunning, wild Alaskan landscape. It’s not overlooked so you can start the day nude having a cold shower (like the glacial waters you see in the distance) like Nathan does, or you can finish it off in a hot bath while looking out at THAT majesty, watching golden hour rake through the trees and spreading dappled, molten colour through the room. I also imagine that some of the roof is glass, maybe with a covering over the top which is retractable, (so imagine a glass cube jutting out a little from the side of the compound), so that you can lie in the bath and stargaze, and almost feel like you’re outside without being subjected to the thaw.

Layout/design: I don’t imagine shower doors, or many traditional doors or windows. I think it would be quite opened up, like a whole, multi-purpose wet room. However, I think instead there might be well-located partitions e.g. a partition separating out the toilet / bidet. Who wants to look at that?!

Functional stuff: No obvious bulbs or bright lights but soft, hidden lights. Slight lighting drama in places to highlight features e.g. lights fanning across textures of stone, running along the edges of a boxy shelf. Plus, the dim lighting is appreciated by Nathan when he’s hungover. At least one of those fancy rain shower heads. But also other attachments and taps and nozzles for whatever you may wanna do. Everything is convenient and customisable. Nathan is fussy and why would he settle for less than his exact pereference when he doesn’t have to?! And why should you?! Also, there are obviously integrated speakers in case you want to listen to music or whatever, without having to faff with a Bluetooth speaker. Nathan often likes it silent, but the option is there for when the mood strikes. Oh, and I hope he has a hot tub and lil steam room somewhere else in the development, out on a deck we haven’t seen. Maybe further into the forest, or underground.

Signs of life: Nathan’s fluffy, slate grey bathrobe. Slate grey and spa white towels. The bare minimum of grooming products (dental stuff, beard oil, grooming kit, shaver, aftershave) and a large rectangular sink with a mirror so he can groom the beard and keep his head freshly buzzed (the mirror also comes in handy so he can check-out the results of his working-out, or to have a good view if he wanna get, ahem, frisky with anyone). Although, I’m convinced that although Nathan’s routine is minimal, he probably has something fancy stashed away - some lush oils for sore muscles or facial treatments. (Basically, I don’t think he’d be entirely against a spa day.) Other things he has stashed away? Painkillers/over-the-counter hangover remedies, some scientifically proven super vitamins, who knows what else? He’s pretty secretive. Ocassionally, some magazines or journals or papers he’s been reading are casually strewn in there. He has to keep up with the outside world somehow, and we know from the post-it wall that sometimes he appreciates things analogue. Also, he subscribes to some art quarterlies that I’m clearly not fancy enough to know about, so there’s that.

How does he use the room? Headcanons etc. I personally don’t see Nathan as a bath person. At least, not unless someone... persuasive convinces him of the benefits. He’s efficient and mainly sees it as a waste of time. Also he sits down enough that he’s keen to stand when he can. Besides, for someone who works out and gets sweaty so much, showers make more sense. There are exceptions; for example, he might bathe if he’s super sore from weight-training, but he has a lil bath tray and he’s willing to risk electrocution by bringing his laptop in there so he can soak and work at the same time. However, the tub is technically roomy enough for two. And, crucially, it has middle taps, so no-one gets poked in the back if you go end-to-end. Ah, why not pour some champagne and bubbles and lie back and see how long you can keep him there. I’m sure you can put up a pretty convincing argument.

1. Why did you choose your url?

My username is so weird lol I get asked this all the time and I wish I had a better answer but I literally just love videos of those hairless cats taking baths. I also think the word nakey is really funny which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about me. I didn't plan on posting fic when I came up with this name and now I'm too attached to it to change it to something practical or more poetic.

None currently but there are some old ones lingering around...

Somewhere out in the universe is a hipster blog filled with poetry and short stories about boys who didn't like me back in high school but it is long lost and I have no idea what it is called. It is probably a repurposed to scam people into clicking RayBand Sunglasses links by now. There's also a really really old Dramione fic blog running around somewhere that I used when I wrote in the Harry Potter fandom.

I think since just before the height of the popularity so like 2010? I fell out of it with everyone else and was really pleasantly surprised to find that people are still hanging around here when I came back two years ago haha

Honestly I have no idea, I was having a tough time and wanted to write and the rest of this has just been a really happy accident.

I notoriously hate my phone and I have this app that lets you grow a tree if you don't use your screen. It's very cute, I grew 5 peach trees today. But long story short, it's not super often, maybe once a day. I try to check notifications every day though because I do absolutely love interacting with y'all.

14. Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog?

Hahahah I wish I was bold enough to do this because I've been tempted to do it more times than I can count but conflict makes me squirm and also cry. I do get intensely annoyed when I see tone-deaf discourse about mixed race people though so I'll always go to bat for that one.

I did lose my shit one time and tagged something as "nakeycats has fucking snapped" which haunts me in my tags to this day and makes me laugh now.

15. How do you feel about the ‘you need to reblog’ posts?

I get it. I mean, I'm not one to tell people what to do and I don't always love the tone it takes on but the general sentiment of it isn't unfounded. There has been a general shift away from reblogging even though it's the only way content gets traction on this site. From a content creation standpoint it's disheartening to put work out there and know that nobody is seeing it. So much love and work goes into writing and it really does suck sometimes. That said, people are going to do what they're going to do, it's not going to stop me from putting work out there.

16. Do you like tag games?

I adore tag games! I love everything about them! Every time I get tagged in one it's like "me? really?" and then I consider us to be besties haha.

17. Do you like ask games?

I really like them and I used to love doing them when we did BWC! Some of the games get hard to keep track of now but this was such a good way to meet people and I'm grateful for it. That said, I LOVE ASKS. If you ever need to vent or rant or tell a joke or chat or practice your emoji usage HMU I'm always down.

18. Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?

Is Tumblr famous still a thing? I would probably just tag my friends in this since they're all famous to me and I'm convinced a lot of them will be famous one day for writing or creating in some way ( @stealing-jasons-job and @queenemori specific point to you in particular)

I will give a special shout-out to @burninghoneyatdusk because I was a massive fan of her writing and then we became mutuals and I was like "omg!! the author of this fic love! A star is following me back!" haha so that was a fun moment when I was first dipping my toes in the fandom and it did feel like someone famous followed me. Also she is rad and very humble considering how talented she is.

Compliments suck, if I'm being down and out honest. This does not bother me at all, I’m just unsure how to respond. I think I would prefer no comments, but I’m trying really really hard to just say “thank you!” and move on before I get uncomfortable. Having to fight with someone about how I perceive my self worth is exhausting, and especially so for the poor person that was just trying to say something nice and be nice to me.

You will lafff..... but I will tell anyways..... I was prescribed a “life coach” after I got out of the hospital, which was really just a poorly disguised softcore “make sure u don’t yeet urself” type of thing. He had me write down things I liked about myself, and when I returned the sheet of paper still blank, he wrote stuff down for me. Like five sentences of “My hair and skin are unique and special” “I like animals and enjoy being kind to them” “I am worthy of respect” etc etc. and I had to look in a mirror twice a day and say those sentences to help “boost my self worth”. It sucked so bad dude, and I like got upset about it every time it came up, until finally my therapist was like “... this aint doin this sad bitch no good” and my parents got designated for yeet watch instead.

I know, logically, that (the majority of) people are not purposefully taking time out of their day to make me feel bad. They're trying to be encouraging and loving, and I appreciate it so much. But like... what do I say? If I say thanks, it’s almost like acknowledging what they're saying as true, and I can’t live with myself thinking I’m more than I am. I’m sorry you’ve had experiences that make compliments difficult for you also, I understand bro and I hope that your future holds healing and peace for you.

What’s a Secret Santa?

For those who have never done a Secret Santa before, the way it works is you submit a gift request, which goes into a pool which is then randomised. The randomised requests are then handed out to the participants.

So basically, its Mystery Gift! Everyone draws/writes a Dota-themed gift for someone. You won’t know who it’s for, and you won’t know who is doing yours! Then at Christmas we hand out the completed gifts anonymously to whomever they belong, via email.
