Do you still speak to any of them? Yep, all of them except Ashleigh. She unfriended me on FB ages ago and I don't know why - she unfriended Ngawari & Hannah too lol and just cut contact with us.

My Mum doesn't think I look like her, she thinks I look like Dad but I always get comments when I post pics of us saying "wow you look like your Mum!" lol. And I'm glad if I do look like them cos they both look far younger than their age (they're in their 70's but look nowhere near that), I'm aging like them so YAY.

What is the last place, other than home, that you stayed overnight? My boyfriend's house.

What is the furthest you have traveled alone? I didn't go on my own, cos my Mum was with me but I did sightseeing and that in Boston on my own cos she got sick and had to stay in the hotel room. It was fun, but I wished she was with me. But it does tell me I can travel solo if I want to!

What is your favorite dog breed? Corgis & Labradoodles, I love them both. I also think French Bulldogs are super cute, our neighbour owns one and she's soooo adorable.

11. Would you write with duplicate characters? How do you think your muse would react?

there are spin-offs that would count as having duplicates, so i'd write with them, sure!! maybe not in the group, but definitely on the indie side of things. yuri would likely take it in stride, probably even getting a huge kick out of it once the initial confusion is all cleared up. peak content would be all the yuris banding together and becoming an unstoppable unit of pure chaos.

13. What’s one random headcanon about your muse that people mightn’t know?

vespy only ever canonically mentions him "falling in love" with one person when he was a little kid, the only information given being that they were 14 years older than him (no specific gender is referred to, either). THE REAL KICKER is that the only person in the cast who's exactly that much older than him is raven (who yuri would've known as a different person at the time). idk if it's pure coincidence or not, but i definitely hc that he had one of those 'wow!!! he's sooo cool!!!' role model type crushes on him when he was, like, 10. since then, he just wants to forget it ever happened, especially now that he actually knows the guy (and found out he's a giant loser (affectionate)). it's also extra funny when another skit has yuri explicitly saying his type is anyone who isn't like raven.

14. Who is an author that inspires you?

i think the only author i've ever really vibed with that i can recall atm is rick riordan! his style of writing always clicked for me. it's easy to read, but also personal in a way that lets you fall into the main character's headspace -- you identify with them and they seem like an old close friend by the end of it all. you almost feel like a part of the story itself, at times, like they're explicitly letting the reader in on all the action. conversational narration has always been a fave for me, what can i say...

19. Do you listen to music whilst writing? If so, what kind of music?

YES AND NO... i like to, but what usually happens is that i get so absorbed i end up forgetting to put something on in the background until i'm almost done anyway gnjdjg when i do listen to music when writing, though, it's almost always stuff without lyrics (i get distracted easily lol); i.e., video game OSTs, piano arrangements, chiptune, and lofi are my go-to.

now, I've already said in the past that i’m not the biggest fan of sf assault fox bc out of all of them, he’s probably the most bland character in the whole game and my least fave version of fox (but I do like the fact he has the brown tips on his ears.... great design choice bring it bACK Nintendo)

now, I suppose I should balance this out and talk abt my fave fox, but the thing is I've got two faves: zero/starlink fox and itoh fox. but i'm going to talk abt zero/starlink fox for now, mostly starlink bc he's definitely my number one fave fox atm, and idk if that's... common? ik some ppl who don't like starlink's star fox plotline, at least with the base game (dlc makes it better) but it's usually bc of what wolf is doing. i don't see much talk abt fox, and that's a shame bc he's something ubisoft got 100% nailed for me.

I draw fox’s zero/starlink design the most, mostly bc it is easier for me to draw and... he’s one of my faves lol. ik ppl who don’t like fox being a good boy scout but personally I like the idea of a mercenary who doesn’t always take a job at the expense of it being immoral, it’s interesting for conflict purposes and it feeds into fox’s apparent self sacrificing idiocy and him having a hero-complex. and in zero, yes fox is on the side with the good guys, but would he have even reformed star fox if andross hadn't killed james? would he have gone all he way through academy and simply been a cornerian solider/pilot, if he wasn't so bent on defeating andross which would yes, save the lylat system, but also avenge his father? but starlink, they way he’s written makes me have heart eyes every single time I adore him in starlink, THAT’S a good fox right there.

I love mike west’s voice for him, I really really do, more than jay zieja, who voiced fox in the battle begins. mike west’s voice, especially in starlink and zero, has this sort of arrogance to him, like “fuck yeah i’m fox mccloud” and I loooove how sharp his voice is, plus it’s a lower register, not a deep voice, but it’s a nice, sharp baritone, and I think it rlly suits fox and how he carries himself. the way he walks in starlink with his head up high, if he’s got confidence issues he’s faking it until he makes it. his voice is why I can never take any art or fanfics portraying fox as an “uwu soft babey uke (fuck I hate that word) boi” seriously, ever. please think abt any of that stuff, if you’ve seen it, and imagine whatever fox is saying in the art or the fic in mike west’s voice for him.

but starlink fox... he’d punch me in the face and i’d thank him tbh.

fox not too long after they all get shot down and one of the first things he says is "gotta find the boys" HE CARES!!! HE LOVES HIS TEAM!!!! HE LOVES HIS TWO BEST FRIENDS AND HE LOVES HIS ADOPTIVE FATHER!!!!

and starlink fox has this aura of chill abt him, like, him saying "it was kinda funny" after peppy made a dad joke, and then later when slippy makes the comment abt peppy being a hotshot "back in the day" and peppy says "HEY!!" and fox LAUGHS!!! WOW GOOD MOMENTS TY UBISOFT FOR THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: FOX MCCLOUD HAS A BAD SENSE OF HUMOR. PERFECT also just?? more fox mccloud laughing pls?? i also thought the jokes were funny bc i also have a bad sense of humor bIJJjjaw

or fox's exasperated "becoming more like yer father, i know" god he's TIRED of that shit. but he can't be mad abt it, he can't be mad at peppy abt it bc yeah, he gets it, but the way he says "i know" so disappointed like...

also starlink fox saying his homeplanet/birth planet is papetoon, god bless america.

also just look at him:

he's an absolute lad and i adore him with every fiber of my being. he is the fox mccloud i was introduced with, and he will always be my fox mccloud.

Mei’s Note: This one is... surprising. I’m not much for MCU Stony (especially in later movies) but there’s a weariness and softness about this that strikes a chord with me. Just two people who are finally taking the time to settle into their bones.

There’s a whole bunch of twists and turns in this murder mystery that has it as one of my all time faves.

Jason Todd is a huge asshole but he also is fiercely protective of others. Tony Stark is sort of a lost lamb that doesn’t know how to let people love him and tends to just... let people use him. You see where I’m going cause I don’t. kidding. A great short overview of a beautiful relationship between two of my all-time favorite characters of DC & Marvel.

2017: my complicated af beaN layla. idek what’s going on with her at this point. 2020: i’m screaming i can’t believe i thought 2017 layla was complicated. i had no idea what was to come. i picked up biel not long after that. also had katalina aka brucey’s wifey n i miss her. juliana is a fairly recent addition and, i’m about to spill the beans, a glücksburg is coming.

2017: american / lots of white european and the other half o’ me is ashkenazi jewish / right now i’m back and forth between pst and mst. homeland is mst though. 2020: obvs nothing has changed except no more back and forth with timezones. strictly mst now.

2017: it’s the first day of spring and we almost reached 100 degrees F :’) we don’t really have autumn or spring here tho. it’s either hot as balls summer or frozen. no in between. like, as soon as temps get below 70 F people break out their jackets. 2020: welcome to the desert, “it’s a dry heat”

2017: lmAO well rn i work in the kitchen of a gas station (sah classy). 2020: went from working in the store to working in corporate *finger guns* apparently i never said what i was studying but i was still in school then. justice studies with a minor in military leadership and certifications in human rights and socio-legal studies. then i studied astrophysics with minors in cyber intel + security and math for a semester, but i didn’t want any more debt ajskdf

021. where would you like to live in the future?

looking for otome-based RP partners!

Hullo (hopefully future) friends! I’ve got a bit of a weird proposal.

(For anyone who saw the first one on my OTHER-OTHER side blog, this is redux, the 2.0, because that sideblog was TOO NEW to show up in tags and I am really hoping that this one shows up on this MUCH OLDER and REPURPOSED sideblog!)

ANYWAY, here blog isn’t and probably won’t ever be an RP blog. I’ve RPed on Tumblr a lot in the past (mostly in the Homestuck community, a few years back) and while doing so was a lot of fun, it was also a lot of work! Maintaining pages, bios, graphics, etc, is all stuff I seemed to have all the time in the world for a few years back, but I find I really just don’t anymore.

Unfortunately, I don’t really know where to find RP outside of Tumblr and cherubplay (thanks again, Homestuck!) either, but Cherubplay isn’t exactly the greatest for finding anything outside of just raw-doggin-it-smut-fests and while that can be, uh, fun, it’s not really what I want to focus on when I RP.

So why am I here?

I’m hoping to find other people who don’t really have time to run an RP blog (or who do have time, but also might be willing to dip their toes into doing it on Discord, too, assuming you aren’t already!) for some good time plotting and roleplaying!

Which I guess brings us to the meat of this whole thing… (more, of course, under the cut!)

WHAT WILL WE RP?

I’ve been real keen on otome lately and I’m really looking to play some canon boys to your MC or OC! While I’ve certainly had my fun playing girls before (mostly in WoW, or other MMORPG settings), I find I always prefer to play dudes, and (if you’d pardon this bit of arrogance!) I think I can be pretty dang good at it!

While I do occasionally ship MxM, it’s really only something I do with my best bro, so I’m sorry to disappoint, but I’m really only interested in MxF pairings atm! I hope that’s okay with everyone.

COOL, BUT WHAT SERIES? WHAT CHARACTERS?!

I’d like to say I have a pretty healthy familiarity with a lot of otome, but I’m not sure I’d be the hottest at RPing them all! If it can’t be guessed by my avatar, I’m kind of on a Hakuouki kick right now, so I’m partial to that, for sure, but for ease of readability and so you can get a good idea of what I’m open to, I’ll list them in some nicely formatted order.

Hakuouki Characters

Okita :: Okita is tied for my personal favorite Hakuouki dude with Sannan, but I think I’d enjoy playing him a lot more than Sannan (which isn’t to say I wouldn’t like to play him, too!). I’ve always been partial to smirky, tease-y boys, especially when they’re struggling with confronting their feelings.

Sannan :: Sannan speaks to my love of polite but cold characters, and it’s only a bonus that he’s a megane, which I’ve also always loved! As mentioned above, he’s probably tied with Okita as favorite Hakuouki dude, but I think Okita’d be easier to play.

Kazama :: Kazama is fun because I’ve always had a love for garbage can style kidnap-and-seduce plotlines if that was your kind of thing!

Saito :: I love Saito aesthetically and his personality is pretty rad and I’d rank him as pretty up their on faves, but I admit I don’t have overmuch experience when it comes to awkward slow-to-open-up kinda boys! I’m sure we could make it work though.

Other dudes :: I’d be willing to try honestly most anyone from Hakuouki but these are the ones above are the ones I feel most confident/interested in playing! If you’d like someone else, you can most certainly ask, especially if you have some kind of plotline you’d like to see!

Diabolik Lovers

Oh baby, yeah I am totally into this hot hot dumpster fire!

Reiji :: As mentioned, I love megane, and Reiji’s probs my favorite of everyone in the whole dang series. Older? Check. Smart? Check. Responsible? Check. Cold? Double check. Really fucking mean? Check. Smirky? Well, in the games, yes!

Shuu :: Sorry Reiji, but I also love Shuu. I might make him just a twinge OOC because his laziness might make advancing the plot kind of headachey, but other than tht, I love this loser.

Subaru :: Subaru, contrary to his third place on this list, is probably pretty close behind Reiji for favorites. Aggressive, ill-refined, totally willing to fight everyone – I admit I tend to play the more well-spoken and calculating kind of characters more, but I’d be willing to rock Subaru for you to the best of my ability!

Ruki :: I won’t say Ruki’s my favorite of the Mukami brothers but I like him a lot and I think I’d play him well!

Everyone else except Azusa and Kou :: Spoiler: I love Azusa to death and find him adorable but I don’t really relish playing openly masochistic characters, so he’s a no go unless we can work something out! Kou is – no offense, but I just really do not like Kou. As far as the famous Sakamaki triplets go, Kanato is one of my absolute all time favorites, and I’d be willing to play him with the right person… but we all know he’s kind of an absolute nutbag, so I’m hesitant to dump that on anyone! Ayato is a staple and Laito could be… like Kanato, I think I’d have to feel pretty assured by my partner they could handle the grosser parts of his character. Open to exploring it, however!

Amnesia

I’m not gonna bother sectioning everyone into neat little areas cause there is so few, but Toma is my favorite (I’m a real sucker for yandere, whoops). I’d be willing to play him, of course, provided my partner was comfortable with it! I’d also be willing to do Kent (my second favorite!), Shin and maaaaaaybe Ukyo. Sorry, I didn’t really care for Ikki – not because Ikki was bad (he was actually cool!) but because fan girl route characters drive me BANANAS.

AND SO THAT LEAVES US WITH… WHAT WILL YOU PLAY?

Honestly, I’m gonna be real with everyone here: I love roleplaying because it’s like writing fanfiction with someone else, so it’s all the fun and self indulgence of fanfiction, but better, cause ya know – someone else is doing it with you! And I’m really here for the self indulgence, so please go ham.

Yeah, you can play the MC of the game, and I’d be cool with that! But honestly, I love OCs, and I’d love to hear about and plot with your OCs. I have some ideas for potential plots (especially for Hakuouki), but I’m also open to your ideas, too, and I think a lot of plots could work best outside the confines of a pre-established MC. Also, you get to show me your drawings/face-claims/whatever for your characters, and that’s pretty rad!!

Also, as someone had asked when I tried to post this on my previously non-functional blog, I’m also open to crossovers! I’m cool even if I don’t know much about the character -- you’ll just have to pardon my ignorance.

So, uh… RULES? RP STYLE? ETC? SOME POORLY ORGANIZED POINTS

+ Yeah, I’m deffo 21+ so ideally you would be too, especially if there’s anything like, remotely scandalous going on! I’m not too sure I feel very comfortable RPing with anyone younger than 18, mostly just because there’d be such a big age difference between us. Rest assured it isn’t because I think I’m better than you, or being ageist! It’s mostly just for my own sense of comfort!

+ Speaking of scandalous, I don’t push hard for anything super graphic unless that’s your style because I’m very much a person who loves drowning in the emotions of “holy crap does this guy really like this lady a lot”. I tend to be over indulgent as heck when it comes to inner monologues describing just how much your character makes mine’s heart go doki-doki, so expect a lot of that. If we start heading towards fuck-making of the graphic non-fade-to-black-variety, we should deffo discuss the sorts of things you discuss before those scenes! (Kinks? I GUESS???) But, as mentioned, it’s deffo not at all on top of my list of prerogatives. We need to BUILD for that!

+ My RP style tends to be 3rd or 2nd (lmao, Homestuck) person, present tense, a couple paragraphs to “oh my god, you can shut up now”. You can write however you like, with my only request being that you be passably literate! Not like, snootily literate. You get what I mean? I hope so. ):

+ As far as activity goes, I’m also fine with the Tumblr esque style of replying whenever you get around to it! If we both happen to be on for a barrage of replies, great! If we can only get one or two out a day, also great! I’m pretty easy going, honestly.

+ I love working in universe and also going mad with AUs. Find some cute starters or AU ideas on tumblr and you wanna throw them at me? I’m always open. From vampires where there are none to school AUs to coffee shop AUs I am willing to try most things, but note: I am primarily a fan of DRAMATIC ROMANCE so keep that in mind!

+ Want some kinda crazy love triangle where your lady is pursued by not one, BUT TWO DUDES? We can probably make it happen!

“Worried about me, mn?” He rolls his head from one shoulder to the next, halfway between a shrug and a stretch, and tries very hard to resist the urge to pull her towards him, into him, that he might catch more of the rich perfume that lingers along the line of her throat. “You shouldn’t be.”

You should, he thinks, and not without a hint of guilt, be more worried about yourself.

who is your favourite character in 2?

lmaooo...nathan for you is a dumbass show about a guy who graduated from business school with decent grades and develops shitty, but hilarious, business plans. it's not really a show with characters since he goes to real businesses but nathan is the only main character i suppose so yes, him. but there's this reoccurring dude who works as this private investigator (who thinks he is the shit) and watching him interact with nathan is so damn funny so there's that.

who is your least favourite character in 1?

it used to be jackie...even though mila kunis is great...jackie was just so annoying, man. but it could very well have been hyde. he was so irrelevant at the beginning and i was kind of like who is this guy?? but then he grew on me and now i think he is one of the best. as of right now..maybe laurie is the worst one for me.

what is your favourite episode of 4?

man, that's too hard to answer. i love so many. i don't want to start talking about other eps i like because there are so many iconic moments in that show and i would really just go on for too long. i would have to say 'beach house' because it was honestly just hilarious...all of them trying to be on their best behaviour for captain holt..the hot tub scene...how they had to make sure some of them were upstairs with holt while they partied downstairs sksksk. those cuts of the conversation with him kill me. a personal fave quote is: 'now, the recorder is generally thought of as a training instrument for children but listen to it...in the hands of an expert like joram leifgrum..the passion is...breathtaking'

favourite season of 5?

confession time,, i haven't watched one or two. well, a few eps. my siblings were really obsessed so they basically told me everything that happened anyway. i just watched season 3 with them and i really enjoyed myself, even with how intense it all got. all i can say is...alexei is a precious god given gift. and man, i love the whole scoops lads plus two epic kiddos gang. and billy looked real good. real good.

i have only just got onto season 3 so i have a long way to go and many potential fave eps to come but...i would have to say 'the best christmas ever' or 'halloween'...honestly fez and hyde make me laugh all the time. and kelso, that dumbass.

that one with alexei and the cherry slush. is that also the one where he is at the funfair place? because that was cute as heck too.

probably the first one, that was especially funny. go and watch nathan for you. it's a bit awkward but with shows like the office and...the inbetweeners...that awkwardness is a key part of the comedy.

probably holt...i just love him so much. or jake? because he has a lot of dumb fun, has a cute gf (wife now ah) and is a kick ass detective. and he gets a cool boss like that.

would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?

i doubt it lmaoo... i can see boyle and terry really getting into it, getting dragged up. and jake pmsl. i think rosa and michelle would defo have a stare off or something. wow i just envisioned scully and hitchcock in drag and it's horrifying.

overall, which show has a better story-line, 3 or 5?

stranger things just because drag race has no real story line.... but the story line in stranger things is really unique and gripping. very nice stuff.

Sorry this is a bit late, babe! I wanted to wait til I had the opportunity to answer all these uninterrupted!

1. coffee mugs, teacups, wine glasses, water bottles, or soda cans?

Coffee mugs! tbh I drink tea out of coffee mugs because who actually uses teacups? I mean my grandma has tons and I would use them, but the handles are so tiny and I am v clumsy so it scares me.

2. chocolate bars or lollipops?

Chocolate bars!!! I’m too impatient for lollipops and plus they always get coated in saliva which just...drips down my chin since my mouth is already full.

3. bubblegum or cotton candy?

Bubblegum! I love cotton candy but I can only handle a bit at a time tbh. Also I haven’t had bubblegum in almost two years bc of braces and I miss it so much I can’t wait to have it again.

4. how did your elementary school teachers describe you?

Okay, so even though I’ve always been homeschooled, when I was in elementary school we did this program with a ton of other homeschoolers where you could take actual classes and stuff. My teachers always said I was quiet and focused and studious, and you could always count on me to be lecturing everyone else on the instructions if they hadn’t been paying attention. (does any of that surprise anyone?)

Fantasy. It can take me a bit to get into it, but once I do, I love it. I only do sci-fi if it has rebellion and isn’t heavy on the sci. And superhero movies are great but a lot of the tropes are meh. Fantasy has a lot more versatility if you ask me.

Sweatpants/leggings and a soft, well worn tee.

It is the single funniest ad I have ever seen and I laughed for 10 minutes so hard I was like an inch away from passing out.

Passing my driving test next month, getting a job, figuring out if my math skills are okay enough to take the SAT or an equivalent test.

So isolated I was as a preteen/early teenager, my self harm, and the internalized anger over my abusive relationship and PTSD.

I think a 7, usually. My pain tolerance is pretty high because of a) years of self harm, and b) due to my PTSD my muscles are constantly tense and in pain anyway.

I was 4, and it had been loose but it fell out when I was trying to blow up an inflatable ball.

Top ten songs I’m obsessed with in no particular order

I was tagged a few days ago by the amazing @whythinktoomuch (thank you!!!!) and, to copy them, I’m also gonna choose some key lyrics. You’re also getting some explanations because I’m me and can’t shut up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ this started off with songs I’m most obsessed with at the moment and then grew to involve some lifelong obsessions lol

1. “Barcelona” by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé - I can’t get over this song, it mashes up opera with rock so perfectly

4. “Don’t Sleep in the Subway” by Petula Clark - I grew up on 60s and 70s female singer-songwriters and girl groups, and this song in particular is one of my all time faves. I love the bridge sections in particular with the sweeping sound of it

My freshman year of college for my music 101 class we had to dissect/analyze our favorite song in the style of our textbook and I chose this one

8. “Walk Like a Man” by the Four Seasons - the first non-Barney song I ever sang; I told you guys I was raised on 60s/70s music!! It’s on my family’s car tape because I was obsessed with it apparently lol blame it on the movie Heart and Souls and RDJ - which i just now realized holy shit yeah that takes place in San Francisco which means I need to rewatch it now holy shit

When the teacher would do roll call on the first day of school I would know they were talking about me when they paused and stared at the list. It’s spelled Shaina. I’ve had Shayna, Shania, Shanna, and one girl at a starbucks spelled it Shanea. I guess it just makes me unique so I’ll stick with it.
