so it´s a tad bit temporary (i say that but its likely to sit there for months udsfghdsj) but it was bugging me to be using an outdated Kaye (oc) design, so i changed the pfp to her new one :3... then the bg colors looked wrong...and the header... and accents, so i ended up changing everything :D 👍!

Aww, I’m honored to be considered a YQY expert 🥺 I will strive to be worthy of this title. 

I do multipship YQY (at least in theory. I’m picky about it), but tianyue is a NOTP for me! I understand the desire to shove two guys with a similar life experience together, and for that I really like the potential in their platonic dynamic (ex: YQY tolerating TLJ’s TLJ-ness because this is the one person he can talk to who Gets It), plus there’s the drama of YQY being at TLJ’s sealing and almost seeming to regret/think poorly of it, but I don’t multiship TLJ (Tianxi 4ever), and I haven’t personally found any grounds for tianyue romantic chemistry that compel me. 

As you alluded to, I also have a sort of philosophical disagreement with the idea of pairing up the two sad divorced widowers because they’re both single at the end of the story. Trellis is in part about my issues with romance as a moral imperative for happiness— as an aroace person I’m not a big fan of the idea that someone needs to get into a relationship to be happy, or to move on/get over someone. Platonic relationships are just as important, and I really really love the idea of YQY being supported by his found family martial siblings (if I hadn't been trying to get the fic done in time for YQYweekend, I would have added WQW and SQH too! I’m really happy with the final product as-is though). 

I don’t think post-canon, and specifically post-Trellis YQY needs a relationship to be happy because YQY has 11 people on the mountain who care a deeply for their Zhangmen-shixiong. I’m sure he also has many devoted disciples; there’s no shortage of people who want to love YQY if he would just let them in more. I headcanon that YQY didn’t really have friends pre-canon because he held everyone at a polite distance, so my goals for post-canon are often just to give him richer friendships. I think that’s what he really needs to heal and grow.

“You’re going to kill him.”

Two soldiers stood on the end of a vertibird catwalk, watching the vehicle beside them warm up. One dragged on a cigarette and narrowed their eyes at the other through the smoke.

“I ain’t gonna kill him, Rhys,” Damien said. “He volunteered to come with me.”

“Because it’s his duty to babysit you,” Rhys shot back. “Danse is a good man, but he’s an even better leader, which means he isn’t going to let any member of his squad head into the Glowing Sea by themselves. He’s the type of man to die for something he believes in, and he believes in the Brotherhood. Not you.”

Rhys gave Damien a long, withering look, nostrils flaring like the very sight of Damien in an orange flight suit enraged him.

“Think about what it is you really want in there,” Rhys said carefully. “And then think about it again and decide if it's worth the life of a good man.”

Damien’s slight irritation at Rhys’ continued badgering rose abruptly into something far more pronounced. Damien could handle not being liked, but Rhys was toeing a very delicate line.

Damien’s intentions behind joining the Brotherhood were no secret, and Rhys was one of the few that knew more about them than anybody else. He’d seen Damien at the police station, biting back tears when they couldn’t give him any help with Shaun; he’d been in the room when Damien had met with Danse and Maxson and exchanged information on the institute for a place within their ranks. Rhys had known the stakes from the start.

“You’ve got a problem with the way things are, you can take it up with Danse,” Damien said through grit teeth. “I’m going in there with, or without his company.”

“You’ve got a deathwish.”

“Wanna join me?”

Rhys scoffed incredulously and gave Damien a pitying look. With a shake of his head, Rhys turned and marched back down the catwalk.

Hi… sorry for dying again;; turns out my psychiatrist made a huge oopsie and gave me a bunch of sleeping pills that ended fucking my schedule for months and I had to go to a new doctor to get them checked out and only now (ish) I’ve been able to regain a little bit of self control over my schedule and what not… I’m super sorry for dipping but I haven’t really had the energy to even wake up past 3PM most days with how heavily medicated I was up until like last week;; I didn’t say anything because I didn’t wanna sound like a crybaby or like I was making excuses and I legitimately thought I was the issue but turns out taking like 2 types of sleeping pills in the morning is not good ? I won’t go into any more detail since it’s kinda useless and no one is really here for updates about me but hopefully with new meds and a better schedule (which I’m working on !! I’ve gone from sleeping at 6AM and waking up in the afternoon to sleeping at 12-3AM and waking up a little earlier!!) I’ll be more consistent once more :’)
