Lu Ten comes back in For the Spirits Chapter VII: Take Me South, only to leave Zuko with more questions than answers. Just how much is he truly aware of? When will he return? What is Zuko going to do now?

Danny would like everyone to know it was a complete accident. Look, normally he was really good at not altering the timeline! He was! 

But the dude was definitely not in the right Time, and he had to get his trust which took so long, like damn he thought he had anxiety. Seriously though, kevlar in the 1700s? Yeah that wasn’t right, and Peepaw always complained about the messes that the speedsters caused, so he was trying to prevent a mess by tugging the dude away and helping him out. 

Falling in love maybe a little, was not in the plan. But honestly the man had a worse sense of self preservation than he did as a teen and was also straight up adorable, in a wet cat  who could kill you sort of way. 

So maybe he helped the dude grab a child that was going to be drowned. It wasn’t like anyone else saw them! Even if similar situations might’ve happened a few different times. 

Still, no one saw them! 

So why is there now a small cult who worships the Shadowed one and Radiant one, aka his companion (who would not give his name save for B, which, fair, probably didn’t want to accidentally wreck the timeline either) and well, him?! At least they worship them as guardians of children, but uh. Should he maybe, perhaps, fix this…?

What if Heavenly Demons come from being children of a ascended God with a Demon?

Of course, that would be an explanation for why they are relatively few, so powerful, and why the ones we know the most (LBG and ZZL) have their blood diluted. It is practically impossible for a pure offspring to arise between two Heavenly Demons unless it is direct incest. More than a species, they are a direct result of, who knows, a Blood Demon, where 90% of the Blood Parasites' abilities to heal or attack others could come from + the OPness of an ASCENDED GOD.

So it's not just that they've died out after a long lineage. It's that they've ACTUALLY been few and far between from the beginning. The Heavens know that even if immortality accompanies an ascended God and a demon, and even if they leave behind a progeny of, what, ten children over the course of a century?? there would be nothing but an internal war between the heavens and the demon realm to hunt them down. They have the best of both realms. They ARE part light - part dark. They can give in to the abyss in their hearts or embrace the goodness of the heavens. They can be something horrible or the best thing that ever happened to the world.

They are not the legacy of a dying species. They are not the worn-out result of what time and exhaustion do to the powerful. They are… the result of love. The result of a forbidden love that was perhaps kept secret. The result of an ascended God who loved too much, a demon who renounced the evil of their spirit, they are the children of those who betrayed who they were and who they believed for their family.

They are the legacy of something beautiful.

They are a legacy of love.

I know we love exploring Eddie overcoming this, kind of, impulse to cowardice he has. My hashtag headcanon is that Eddie’s a runner BECAUSE he learned to be one, needed to be one. Because he grew up scared.

The experience of his mom dying left him terrified, so he ran from it. Left alone with his lackluster, fuckup dad. Just Eddie, his dad - and his dad’s temper. Eddie learned to run from that too.

He puts on his loud, scary, abrasive persona to outrun genuinely feeling hurt at being just - completely & totally rejected by society. Because it’s too massive and unbearable to actually try to face.

He ran from his grief, from his dad, from the cops, from judgmental assholes and bullies and bigots who would try to hurt him for who he is, from a mob who took one look at how different he was and decided that was enough to label him guilty - and he just ran and ran and ran.

Eddie’s a runner cause he’s always been scared.

And Wayne was safe. Wayne always tried to protect him from his dad - and then the foster system when Eddie really had no one. Wayne’s trailer gave him a place to run to.

And then there’s Steve. Bull-headed, brave, recklessly protective, valiant Steve. This fucking knight in shining armor of a man. He’s the first person who really told Eddie, really got it through his head that like

'hey... hey it's ok to be scared. That's ok. It's actually the most normal, reasonable reaction in the world. To run when you’re fucking terrified.

And that doesn’t make you a pussy. And it doesn’t make you a coward.

And there's nothing wrong with you.

And I want to make you feel safe because I love you. Because that's what people who love each other do! You deserve to be safe. And I would step between you and bullies and bigots and bloodthirsty mobs and fucking monsters from hell - To keep you safe. Until you have nothing to run from."

And just that makes Eddie feel braver, knowing there’s someone there, fighting for him. Gives him the courage to maybe stop running and fight for himself.

The Tinkers - Post Movie 3 Stobotnik AU ficlet

anyway remember the IDW comics storyline where Eggman gets amnesia + becomes Mr. Tinker?

Basically, Agent Stone goes out into the Universe to find Robotnik, but finds him on an alien planet, with amnesia, making simple machines + fixing farm equipment for the locals as "Mr. Tinker". He even made a helper robot that's modeled like a wooden puppet, Belle.

Stone is like, "Doctor is this beneath you, you were made for more! Please remember!"

Mr. Tinker is like, "Step into my workshop, Belle please don't worry I will explain things to this kind, misguided man."

The door closes.

Robotnik immediately turns on Stone and slams him against the wall, "Yes, I remember, my beautiful friend! But the situation has changed. Plan 2010-11-16." He looks down. "Slightly modified."

Stone gasps, "Gain trust. Build machines and backdoors into their technology. Take over. But it's been months. And this Belle - it's-"

Male reader is hot af like dude be making people stare at him jaw dropped and shi, not only that but he smart as hell too, dude graduated from Harvard in the highest honour, wealthy af and he strong af too AND hes a total sweetheart to Soap but he abit cold to strangers.

Soap Headcanons: Ft absolute whipped Male!S/O

Somehow someway you’ve managed to secretly sneak your way into Price's spot of number one favorite. Being able to easily convince him to visit base and get a chance to see everyone again*cough*SOAP*cough*. He obviously knows why you want to go, practically everyone does but he doesn’t have it in his old man heart to say no so you always get your way. You always use the excuse of helping out like doing paperwork, or maybe training new recruits but you never do any of that!! Everyone respects you because of all your achievements…that's why it feels so wrong to tell you off when you’re caught babying Soap, not because you should be getting to work, but because they wish it was them.

It’s always awkward when you first show up on base because who wouldn’t want to talk to such eye candy, but at most you’ll give them the cold shoulder, or just tell them what they need before turning away from the conversation. Even when you’re sitting anywhere, you’ll impatiently tap your foot, as if you’re waiting for something/someone…AND THAT’S BECAUSE YOU ARRE, the entire time you’ll wait for him but that doesn’t mean you’re gonna be happy about it. It’s an absolute 180 because now you’re being all bashful and presenting him with homemade food and treats, holding him against you as you complain about how lonely it is without his loud personality. Soap is probably a physical affection type of lover, so he’ll have you in a headlock while singing praises on how much he missed you as well. 

When he's back and the two of you are together, he insist on training. Of course this gains the attention of others, and you feel the need to shoo them away, insisting that they must be here to oogle your man... "Laddie, Yer heid’s full o’ mince if you think they're checking me out??" and then you get offended because why WOULDN'T they want to check out your totally amazing boyfriend.

He’s completely oblivious to your favoritism as well, he acknowledges that you might like him more than most people because you’re together, but not to the extent that other people say. Even if he does witness this attitude change, he thinks it's the funniest thing in the world and will pretend to not notice when people complain about your favoritism. Price will complain about your attitude towards others, telling Soap to knock some sense into you and all he’ll say is “ I dinnae ken what you mean captain??”

I've been thinking about Nicole as a character a lot lately and why she makes me (and others) feel the way we do. And for me the root annoyance with her is that she's boring. Boring as hell. And now I do not believe boring is a moral failure, but she was starting to grate on me and I wanted to introspect why I'm having this reaction because she's really causing no harm. Just kinda existing as a boring character.

And I think she's not only boring to us but also to the writers. I don't think they really know what to do with her, they're trying to throw her into a side romance plotline to give her a plot but as you can see no ones really investing in it at all.I think, by setting her up from the start as a regular ol' girl acting as the 3rd wheel friend they kinda cabashed her likability forever?? By that I mean she's made to be boring.

And it's because she exists in this very specific area of holding a lot of introvert insecurities as character traits, having reactions to others and the plot through those insecurities, and kinda being included in plotlines as the least load bearing character in each of them. She's always just jumping into plotlines because that's what the others are doing or because she's trying in her own way to help. All of which she usually messes up a bit in and it's all very NORMAL.

Nicole kinda exists as this most rooted in normalcy character, doing what most normal teenagers would do: have insecurities, make mistakes because of those insecurities, have plans that get accomplished haphazardly cause that's what an underdeveloped prefrontal cortex does, have cringe failure moments. And when you have her, this VERY normalcy rooted character thrown in with high stakes, willing to commit every felony, alive teenagers all with very plot centered importance, and high stakes, very traumatized and layered and plot heavy ghosts, she seems EXTREMELY dull as a result.

Her boringness is put on display in full view and because it's a fictionalized story we all as viewers get far more invested in the fun, nuanced, plotline heavy characters who all feel very interesting and fictional. Nicole seems a little too realistic of a teenager and perhaps a little too familiar to our own insecurities and past or current teenage behaviors that our instinct is to recoil from her whether that's to protect our own feelings about ourselves or just because she feels a little uncanny as not as separately fictional as the rest. And because she isn't the most ambitious, and has the most externalizing social insecurities, and isn't really directly death plot focused she isn't all that important and we get bored of paying attention to her when we could be focusing on the more interesting and intriguing actions and behaviors and plots of any of the other characters.

It's not Nicole's fault that she meets at the perfect crossroads of character traits and plotlines that makes us bored of her, ambivalent to her, or even actively annoyed by her. It's normal for our instinct to find a character who seemingly only causes small hindrances in the more compelling storylines to find that character grating, and unfortunately that's the role Nicole occupies. If we want to try to mitigate our own annoyance, distaste, or ambivalence to her because she is just an teenage girl with insecurities and normal teenage mess ups at the end of the day, we can all try recognizing that she takes up the normal girl failure role and like isn't that interesting enough to analyze?? We don't often get characters in media who are so rooted in reality that we start to hate them. Maybe she deserves more compassion than we give her
