- Sy transmigrates as himself/an npc before binghe makes it to cqms, and spends a lot of his time dodging the plot by being a rogue cultivator. Its on one of his plot-avoiding adventures that he runs into og!Shang Qinghua and inevitably gets dragged into the plot (havent decided if airplane joins the world or nah, but if he did then hes obv a different character)

- Sqh originally only keeps Sy around as a source of information to save his own skin and fully intended to drop him at the earliest convenience, unfortunately the wife beam too strong and sqh slowly finds himself feeling protective of this strange man who keeps running head first into dangerous situations for some 'deus ex machina' that'll help them both

- Sqh does think Sy is some kind of seer btw, because how else would he know so much about things he shouldnt? Sy is 100% down to run with that narrative because it lets him get around the system's punishment protocols for revealing too much.

- Sy is ofc not trusting of Sqh at first cuz all he knows about him is the few throw away lines from PIDW, but after he starts to see just how much the man does and deals with Sy does develop a begrudging respect for Sqh

- Sqh keeps Sy on a pretty short leash even after their relationship improves because hes not about to let anyone else get their hands on someone with so much valuable intel, but he does enjoy sicking Sy on both the demons of Mbj/Lbh's court and his own martial siblings (yknow those 'translator' joke videos online where the translator says what the person really means? Thats Sy for Sqh)

- Sy is required to stay mostly quiet about Lbh's whole abyss arc, but he does make sure sqh falls into 'tolerable' terms with the future emperor to avoid the man's scripted end (and if that leads to some mobing content then thats just the way the ball bounces)

- the sect isnt really sure how to handle Sy at first since hes an unknown rogue element, but they eventually find themselves somewhat endeared to the oblivious man thats apparently bonded with the semi-reclusive an ding lord, especially after he 'stumbles' across sqq and lqg in the caves ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

I have no problem whatsoever with selfcest in fandoms, I used to be into undertale, my fave ship was fell sans x undertale sans, try me.  

I can't remember if its canon that OG Mark ends up stronger than the other Marks, but he ends up real strong anyways, so some would fall for him because of that strength. Others might be because they are egotistical, and would love to fuck themselves. 

Mark would need to work harder than the reader to get them all completely dick whipped. Cuz they aren't gonna be careful with a version of themselves, especially the one they were technically sent to mess with. 

OG Mark would also have a harder time just accepting this compared to reader cuz he thinks its just, weird. Hes got his thing with Eve ya know? So no, he's not gonna let 20/20 Mark choke down his dick while in the air, floating over Toronto. 

Would be great if Eve was like “please, I just wanna see” when the alt marks start trying to get into OG Marks pants. Eve sits there like 😏 cuz it's so hot to see her boyfriend making out with another version of himself, while fucking a third version of himself. 

Insert that one “she was fujoshing out!!!” meme, cuz Eve would just have a great time, I think. Like yeah, this is my boyfriend Mark, and his alternate versions of himself who are also his boyfriends, but not mine.

Hey everyone! Not gune lie..I’m really very scared to be writing this 😂 I’m not an OG reader & only finished silver flames in Jan after being introduced to ACOTAR last year! So firstly…I’m sorry & I cannot imagine the sheer torture you have all had to endure waiting these long years! Fair fucks to all of you for being so patient! I hope for all of you & me (even though I’ve not had to wait as long as you guys!) that the announcement is in May!

So anyway���as a normal reader that has no fucking idea about the other books/ series & was just genuinely delighted to have found the azriel BC thought tumblr……I’ve never been more shocked in my life than when I saw the fan fics about gwyn/azriel & evil theories about Elain 😂 truely shocked & really made me question everything I thought I read / the characters haha

But had on heart I really think people are so caught up in not wanting to see 3 sisters & 3 brothers together, that they’ve let that cloud their judgement. I really don’t get how people couldn’t want Elain & Azriel to be together…I truely believe that out of all the couples (including feysand) they have the most to bring to each other & the most beautiful love story to unfold.

The narrative between the two has been building since he spoke to elain about the song of wind & showed her the garden - all things he didn’t have to do. He didn’t have to bother with her at this stage. But no. Azriel…not her mate…was the one who was able to put a name to what she was going through… A SEER. I honestly think people underestimate how impossibly beautiful it is to have someone put a name or some sort of explanation to what you’re going through.l when you’re struggling. Azriel did that for Elain ie. No Elain you’re not crazy or insane, you’re a seer. So powerful. Everyone else didn’t bother to understand, and that’s the point. Even on a friend level. Lucien may have described her as beautiful & tugged on a rib etc but even on the basic level did he try to understand or figure out what was happening with Elain? No. And genuinely, I know it wasnt on purpose etc but the point is, the one person who went & did anything about Elain’s behaviour was azriel. No one asked him too. No one pushed. Even Elain herself felt so consumed with her loss of human life & visions, that she didn’t bother to figure it out. But azriel. Azriel did. Because he felt something for Elain.

And then it progressed and progressed and progressed, until we got the BC. And my god I was floored. Hand on heart I think Elain and azriel will be the most beautiful story of them all. I think they’ll defy norms, challenge expectations, grow each other’s power & share a bond so strong that it’ll be legendary in Phrythian. And I think they’ll suprise us all in the bedroom 😂

I don’t wana get into ships cuz I don’t know the books as well as others. But in my mind, it says it all that azriel didnt rush into the blood rite to save gwyn, or anyone else. He just left them to it. And untimely that is not what a mate does based on my readings of all the books. They fight, and they risk everything. Just like azriel did rescuing Elain.

Anyway these are my immediate thoughts & I’m sorry if it offends anyone/ I’ve got anything wrong! But honestly, after seeing the unexpected fanfics, I needed to vent. I never thought after my reading of the book & the BC that there was anyone else for azriel apart from Elain, and despite the bond, no one else for Elain apart from azriel. The beauty of life & death, the contrast of dark & light, the importance of choice, the story of a lonely boy in darkness falling in love with a girl that shines like the sun….Everything he was deprived of. Both quiet & underestimated, both listeners, both noticing each others feelings without having to speak, both beautiful but only open emotionally with each other?! Not to mention the possibility that they will defy others to be together!

I just don’t know how anyone couldn’t want them to be together 😔 so yeh safe say that I will be devastated if azriel & Elain don’t end up together! Thanks everyone for the fanfics etc it’s been so great to see!

I've talked about this on some different octonauts octo headcanons posts but ill make a nice neat list! These are a mix of Canon and headcanon <3

Barnacles:

he enjoys attempting to play the accordian, traditional inuit soap stone carving (not something he does often, most of his room carvings are from his childhood), using charcoal and oil pastels to paint scenery as a way to wind himself down(sometimes he'll do people but they don't look very good), sport competitions and exercising, and writing small short screenplays about the characters hes made for his carvings <3 the screenplays are usually very soft and light hearted or deeply sad.

Kwazii:

ok our undiagnosed adhd boy let's go: anything competitive or exciting! I'm talking chess (with inkling), ping pong, any type of sports competition, board games, card games-

He also has a hyperfixation on historic miniature model ships- and some modern too. Bro also LOVES to cook with the vegimals! (Even if his cooking skills are... debatable) hell often teach them (the kid friendly) version of the shanties he grew up with. Funnily enough he doesn't really share his shanties with the rest of the crew,not really...

He does enjoy girls night, esp with jewelry and claw care 💕 dashis been showing him movies and teaching him stuff about pop culture and land culture in general

Also he loves comics <3 and book kwazii enjoys long baths so I gave him a whole long self care routine.

Peso:

Anyways so I'm talking drawing sea creatures (hes a pretty good artist ngl, barnacles could take notes), researching them, comparing them, studying their biological abilities and the chemical components and possibilities of it- literally his entire job is just him having an autistic blast like good for him

But most of his free time is very much spent with the vegimals XD whether its playing with them, trying to teach them things, or just talking with them.

He also loves drawing hyper realistic animal drawings saying very very stupid silly puns. The vegimals internally react to them like dad jokes but they pretend they're very funny cuz hes SO. PROUD.

Inkling:

He enjoys doing very deep dives into topics, deep cleaning, chatting with min on video call, conducting psychological social and behavioral experiments on the octonauts, competing with kwazii and the other octonauts to challenge them (he slays),

Journaling, and even his actual job of organizing their discoveries and getting them ready for scientific peer review as well as handling all paper work sides of thibgs

He really enjoys spending time with thr other octonauts, they are ALL his children(in a "my fascinating lil creatures!! I must teach them and challenge them so that they can grow!) to him and he adores them all immensely. He likes to make photo albums with dashi.

He also enjoys not having bones because apparently when mammals and avians get old their bones hurt all the time??? So he's pretty happy about that ngl

the vegimals all have different interests: whether its having certain genres of media they gravitate too, different aspects of gardening they enjoy,or joining different octonauts in their own tasks! But they'll always love making their own songs and working together <3 also experimenting in recipes lol. A few will often join the other octonauts doing their own hobbies or try to do the hobbies they see the others doing. They are kids after all lol

This could mean tominnow joining peso and dashi while they watch their dramas, barrot being very excitable while playing video games with tweak, tunip learning how to play chess with the professor, grouber being a little princess and enjoying self care, coddish trying to learn how to sword fight with kwazii pretending to be a silly monster, or halibeet curled sleepilu next to inkling as he reads and explains what he's learning- and so on and on and on.

Honestly, there are terrible people in every fandom, but those are just a loud, small minority. Most of us are just here to share our love for these characters and their world.

The ZK fandom is, sadly, very well versed in ship wars and fandom hate and...well, we all know about it.

That being said—I don't let fandom wars or toxic behaviour from fans on any "side" dictate how I enjoy the og series or ZK.

People have vastly different takes on ATLA. Some may not like Aang as a character, or Mai, or Katara, or Zuko, or Sokka—and that's okay! We all have our own ideas and our own ways to interact with canon and the Fandom.

But things get out of hand when someone sends you death threats using anonymous asks, or calls you horrible slurs, simply because you enjoy something (I am talking through personal experience here).

I support discourse. I support metas and takes and headcanons. I support those who say "Well, I understand why you like this couple/character, and I respect that, but I don't like them because..."

And that's the thing that's sometimes missing—respect.

I know what my stance is regarding ZK, and Kataang, and Maiko, and this senseless hostility. And I will always defend it, but that doesn't mean baseless insults need to be part of my vocabulary.

I can't tell anyone how to engage with fandom—and I'm not trying to! These are my own personal views on this matter, and I hope everyone understands the intention and meaning behind them.

Ok, but being serious...I miss them and their dynamic so much.

I miss them being jerks to each other (mostly Marshall) and having this unresolved tension cuz they weren't close enough to be friends but they 100% liked each other despite being complete strangers to each other.

These motherfuckers hated each other while thinking about each other all the time and that's the seasoning that made me like their ship. I WAS IN THE TRENCHES SHIPPING THESE TWO AT THE RIPE AGE OF 10!

They were interesting because they weren't like Marceline and Bubblegum who already had a previous relationship at the time, these two weren't even in friendly terms, they couldn't even see each other!

I was rooting for them to communicate and build the shit outta that relationship, but now we have a "perfect" relationship that was just rushed, honestly.

After all this time my feelings past the autistic hyperfixiation had settled down a little and I'm now able to pinpoint some things I didn't really like about the series.

And please don't get me wrong, I love the current Gumlee and how they make my king visibly black like they should, but it just isn't the same. It was rushed by a damn platform that only cares about producing rushed content and nothing else. I miss how the magical aspect of their world played a part in how they interacted with each other, all of them!

Speaking of, that's something I miss too and wished was different in the series: the lack of magic and the "get real" lesson they give us. What if I don't want to get real? What if I want more magical adventures??? I have enough with life already, I want some escapism! I'm sure there's a way of doing that without it being Finn, Jake, Marceline and Bonnibel all over again.

I wanted more of this:

Y'all have no idea how much the background-characterification of Ice Queen hit me, man. They really took away her own backstory, her swag and ambitions just to simplify it, use her as background character and make her a Simon clone/variant and I honestly hate it. She was supposed to be unique in her own way, just like the rest of the gang and now they're confused as their counterparts even more than before.

I just hope season 2 gives us magic again somehow, but it sounds so unlikely :(

they had their first proper conversation on one of their prefect rounds

just made meaningless small talk and alice in her mind was like oh she's so fucking full of herself but hey at least she's not that boring and narcissa was internally rolling her eyes cuz she knows exactly what alice thought cuz it was absolutely not the first time someone thought of her like that so she was used to it

slowly got to know each other and slowly fell in love (narcissa - fell first (despite trying to desperately suppress her emotions); alice - fell harder)

they were honestly really sweet - made each other lil handmade gifts and plucked flowers and made each other blush and held hands and hugged and cuddled and shit a lotttt

but they knew they fucked up when they seriously started thinking about a future together and realized that could never happen and started sobbing uncontrollably

but then alice, ever the hopeful optimist, was like - "wait, what if u run away with me??"

but while narcissa would die for her in a heartbeat, she would never risk living a life without security - running away with alice would just put a target on her back

it took LOTS of convincing but finally alice fully understood her perspective and didn't push

yet that put some distance between the two of them - they were still sneaking together but it didn't feel the same as before

the last time they saw each other (at least while they were both sane 😊😊) was their hogwarts graduation - they cried and made out and cried and cried and cried and their last kiss was disgusting and sloppy and they wished it would never end and then narcissa had to leave with lucius (they were engaged by this time)

both of them spoke barely a word to anybody for almost a week but they just missed each other so so much and were childishly begging the universe for a way for them to be together

narcissa at one point kept thinking what if i had just ran away from this country with alice?? and she fell into a rabbit hole and any moment she was alone she would obsess over that thought and create the perfect life with alice in her head

she found out about the longbottoms getting tortured, bellatrix's arrest, etc from lucius - he was nervous to tell her cuz he didn't want her to fucking lose it (thinking she'll break down and die from hysteria after losing both her sisters) (he's goofy like that)

she didn't do any of that however - she just didn't speak

she didn't look at lucius - she went to draco's (bleh) nursery, pulled him into her arms and rocked him back n forth

she went selectively mute and no words came out her mouth except sharp rare orders to elves or soft singing rhymes to draco

she pulled herself back together - security & stability is her middle name after all - and appeared right as normal within 1-2 years

(she visited alice once a week religiously under glamour to do nothing but sit and hold her hand and talk like the teenager she used to be with her - she would sob and laugh with all her chest like andromeda showed her it was ok)

and obi wan coulda just stood by and let the council dunk on qui gon but he stepped up and told em he could do it he could be a jedi knight

and he questions his master and his master takes it all in stride and he feels bad and apologizes to his master later

and he doesn hate anakin even if he should because he's sorta like a replacement (though qui gon just saw his two prentices) but he doesn hate anakin and he still loves his new little brother-sorry-fellow-padawan even though he has every right to hate him because

because that's obi wan - a kind man, a good man, true and brave, who tries so so hard and so so much and hopes he'll be noticed and he's gentle-spirited and dear and

sobs because he's just like meeeee

I have a thing for brothers where the elder very clearly loves the younger despite it all — Boromir and Faramir, Thor and Loki, Hunter and Crosshair, Peter and Edmund, Savage and Maul, Obi-Wan and Anakin

And the beautiful thing about all of them? All those younger brothers love their elder brothers too. Maybe you don't see it in their faces or their deeds or their words — until, until, until you do

and it, it breaks me every time, because they love each other so so very dearly and truly, but neither believe so. they each always think the love is solely on his end, only I love him in our relationship, he doesn't feel the same way, but that's okay, it's okay, if the love isn't returned, if he doesn't feel as I do, I'll still love him, even if he never loves me back, even if he hates me, even if he cuts himself off, even if the world ends, even in my grave, even if he tears me to pieces and breaks my heart a billion times, I'll still love him

I like how when Qui Gon and Maul are separated by a ray shield, Qui Gon decides to calm down while Maul paces - it's like staring at contrasts, Jedi and Sith, Light and Dark, Patience and Impatience

audibly squealed when Maul came on-screen because omg hiii doomed brother no. 972428

I still can't believe I ended up liking Maul this much. always knew he was an interesting character, and the phantom menace does well to establish him, but tcw fleshes him out— I mean, not, not literally, cuz he's half, half metal— anyways they made him a pretty intriguing character and that's impressive
