a tumblr feature I'm starting to miss is being able to edit the 'Keep reading' text, we didn't take advantage of that while we could and now it's too late

#sure there are some old features that are weird like how you weren't able to send messages aside from asks lmao #and some of you have no idea what it was like setting up your first tumblr theme when smartphones weren't really a thing yet #and you had to rely on people who knew coding and made pretty premade themes and learn how to change textures and pictures in those themes #those things are already a given now and most of you don't even have a pc theme #but some features were just too good to lose like the prev tags and clicking on the handles bringing you to the reblog itself #and of course being able to change the keep reading text to something insane #or just something silly like TOP SECRET DON'T LOOK so you could just put 'you looked didn't you?' underneath #good ol' days good ol' days #tumblr #newbie stuff

TIL that if images in a post are arranged in a grid instead of just one after the other? The tumblr app won't show the alt text button even if there is alt text present. If I open the post in mobile browser then I can see the alt button.

#it's possible this is fixed in a later version of the app but i am holding on to my current version with both hands #because it's the version where it's still easy to navigate back through reblogs to read prev tags #what this means functionally is a bunch of posts i thought had no image descriptions actually do #so i am going to put some time this weekend into hunting them down and reblogging with the alt text copy pasted into the body

realizing my new phone downloaded the latest version of tumblr and its worse.

#my old phone had a half year old version of tumblr and checking prev tags worked.#whys tumblr so intent on destroying features literally no one is bothered by???#like going through a reblog chain on a single post was a feature not a bug and also not a high ranking issue on this site?#I dont understand it. they remove the ability to check prev tags but dont do anything about any of the actual issues that matter.

i think it would be funny if instead of fixing it tumblr made the previous reblog ONLY accessible if you click the 'prev tag' tag, so it has to be reblogged to your dash with that tag added for you to ever see what the previous reblog looked like.

Because i see other people prev-tagging a person on that post in my notifications but when i go to that person's blog it won't let me. and that's not really an issue if someone blocks me for being a bit annoying but for some reason? tumblr won't let me see the ppl prev-tagging that person in the notes of that post either. like the notes show up in my notifications but not in the actual notes of the post? if someone starts a new reblog chain with my post and then blocks me does that make everyone else on that chain inaccessible to me in the notes? wtf how does that work

Tahreer and her husband Ahmed have 4 children: Sarah, Fatima, Khamees and Ameer. Ameer has a fractured pelvis and needs immediate medical attention. Khamees recently had a dangerous tonsillectomy due to an infection.

Tahreer can be found at @tahreer-1990. Ahmed (@90-ghost) has reblogged her post.

Fidaa and her husband Hashem also have 4 children: Abdullah, Dima, Duaa and Islam. Hashem has an injured arm and needs immediate medical attention.

Aseel is a 29 year old English student. She and Fidaa are not on Tumblr.

In total, each person needs $5k, so their final goal is $65k. Right now, they are at $4k which is just 6.1% of their final goal.

Our short term goal is $8k by August 12, so we need to raise $4k. That’s $1.3k per day!
