I'm delighted to finally post what I've been working on lately! I've gone on youtube and downloaded a bunch of mp3s of various unstreamable songs then cut them down from the videos into individual songs with proper metadata + album art so you can just download them all in one place and throw them into wherever you play your music. Right now I have various EPs, demos, and singles, but I will be adding unreleased live songs and debut/early/alternative/etc versions of songs later on!

you guys are definitely my spiritual warriors. red headwear/accessories might be significant for some of you! pigeons/birds as well. you guys are absolute sweethearts!! like hachi from nana :) definitely the kid of the friend group! terribly optimistic, you guys remind me of strawberry cheesecake. a lot of friends know to seek your comfort when down, because you can also be the therapist friend. i'm thinking of one of my own friends typing this and god she's so sweet! you guys are tender and not ashamed to show your emotions, and this is such an appealing quality, because you attract people with a lot of depth who, unlike you, don't show it very easily because they struggle with self-perception. good news is, you do have a tendency to attract people who are smart and clever! you may come off as a bubblehead, but you're more than that. you have this intense capability of being a deep thinker and you prefer deeper talks to ones about the weather. however, you're also very self-sacrificial. you feel like you were born owing things to the world, and owing things to people who have been through pain even if they keep hurting you over and over again. you have a very naive perspective on love even though you've been through hell and back--be careful not to confuse your naivete with hopefulness. some people don't deserve your sweetness, babycakes. you're one of a kind and that's meant to stay that way. your power lies in your circle, so you really have to be careful with who you let in. you guys also feel like your struggle with consistency shows, but it's really something more internal. sorry, that was something that jumped out of me.

anyways! a lot of people think that you're so easygoing. i think so too, because as said before, your anxiety/negative thoughts don't show easily. you're a very put together person...fashion junkie much?? everything about you is tea. i think you guys know how to style things well. a lot of u might use facial oil and bare-face is something a lot of you look good with, even if you don't think so! you guys are also deeply faithful to your friends and family even after they do you soooo wrong. you guys really should save all that for yourself, because babycakes, a lot of you have potential to be great artists, great people in your life, and i think that when you don't use all that energy up, it manifests in short-term obsessions and anxiety. a lot of you will probably end up living in a city later in life, and you guys are the kinda people who can thrive in a busy environment. i think a lot of you are also healers, and by that i mean you're very much willing to grow. transcendent, elegant; i love you guys!! omggg. i hope you liked this pac 🙏

you guys are deeply honest, deeply intuitive, and deeply softhearted individuals. a lot of you might be drawn towards 'softer' music. i'm thinking erykah badu, sufjan stevens, a lot of music from countries that are outside of your own. you guys are good analyzers and observers, and you make connections by relating things to other things. you may give compliments that seem backhanded but in your mind you mean it in a very pure and genuine way, but be careful, because it can come off as something different! #idothesame #guiltyascharged. other than that, you guys are the lifeee of the party! fervent and bright, you guys are an eternal cascade of firecrackers. you guys seem to have two sides, and it's such a big privilege if someone has access to both of those things! you guys loveee the materialistic aspect of life and are so deeply talented in it, like, you guys are destined for material success, i'm hearing because you guys know how to be socially apt and you, at your core, wanna help the world. unlike pile 1 you guys are my realists, you realize that there are truly some genuinely evil people out there, and you guys have such a low tolerance for bullshit. you defend your people with such a tender cadence, but you don't play about them. a lot of older siblings here. a lot of you went through pain at a young age and it's deep inside of you, so this little hint of tragedy is definitely visible; you may feel drawn to people and always end up finding out they had some kind of trauma, so that's definitely something to beware of because unlike you, there's a lot of people out there who wield their trauma as a weapon, y'know? you guys are very honest and intricate with what you guys do. the problem is you believe others are the same (rather used to) and then your whole worldview crashed, so you're still recovering from that. a lot of you are true believers that others are as good as you...not always, babycakes, not always. you guys look really good in darker colors. a lot of u like makeup that accentuates your features to stand out!!

you're verryyyy friendly and hard to make upset if a person's just existing. you understand that not everybody has to be the same person as you, and you're very tolerant and probably have a diverse friend group/people in your life! you guys like the riches in life and chase success so hard, which i think is such a good quality to have in this life because so many people are bums and settle for bums. you guys are GOOD and you chase after GOOD so i can assure those of you that are worrying about your future; keep putting in that effort and soon enough you'll be very happy. a lot of you deal with paralyzing anxiety and panic attacks, however, and practicing slowing down would definitely help you guys. you internalize things, but you guys are meant to let things out, in one way or the other. it's different for each and every one of you. a lot of you smell really good and love body mists and perfumes. i love you guys, make sure to take care of yourself babycakes 💋

you guys are def my loners out of all these groups. and honestly, a lot of you are at peace being alone. you understand that your very presence is like a secret; only deserving of people who share that same specific quality you do. this varies for a lot of you, but you probably know what i mean! you guys are very proud of who you are, in a non-egotistic way, and others understand why you are. you are probably still very insecure deep inside, but that's something that you're actively working on, so i applaud you! a lot of you struggle with battles deep inside your head (if you're ever struggling hard, please reach out to someone). when you're with people you truly like (which is not a lot...) you guys BEAM a lottt and honestly your smile is to die for and people love when you choose them, because when you do? it means that they're something special. a lot of you are lionhearted but are also very quick to rage (leos? aries? fire signsss). you guys are effortlessly sensual and you're so raw with everything that you do. your presence is very addicting because you pull everyone else up with you, you make sure that when someone's granted a bit of your existence, they know how much you value them. you guys can be very childlike at times, and you have such a good sense of humor. you carry yourself so well and a lot of people see you as authority and may look for your reassurance/advice because you seem like you know everything. life, to you, is a pattern of intricate designs, and you honestly have a good sense of it. it's an art to you, and i think that's honestly such a good way of viewing it, until your romanticization becomes too much and you're sent to rock bottom. you guys are full of passion, so definitely be careful. try to be in the middle instead of flying through the state of great depression, and the state of great happiness.

boyfriend!isagi was a keeper. he was someone you proudly introduced to your friends and family and they all loved him from the very beginning. he wasn't an arrogant bastard like your previous boyfriends, which was already a huge step up. he was more of a shy and introverted kind of guy who smiled awkwardly and blinked with his wide blue eyes, which made him easy to approach. even your father approved of him, even though he was a stuttering mess during the first family dinner.

boyfriend!isagi loves your parents as well. he needed some time to adjust before he could spend time with your family casually, watching tv or playing board games. your mom was mainly the one who was the lead of the conversations at first and isagi mainly just sat glued to your side on the couch, silently asking for support. however, every time soccer was brought up by your father, isagi's eyes visibly widened with childlike eagerness. your father was surprisingly interested in soccer as well, meaning that he happily listened isagi's rambles about different tactics on the field. it was cute how well they bonded eventually.

boyfriend!isagi is definitely an over thinker, someone who wants to figure out his feelings before expressing them to you. but that usually only leads to destruction, because unlike in soccer, he can put his over analyzing into physical work with game and tactics, but with feelings, it’s different. he just ends up panicking internally about some stupid tiny thing that would’ve been solved in a second if he just said it out loud. 

boyfriend!isagi wants to treat you right, because a kind, pretty and supportive girlfriend like you deserves it. he wants to take you on dates and romantic walks, even if it makes him somewhat feel awkward and cliche. sometimes though, when he’s too focused in soccer, he might forget the plans you two had made. of course, he never means to do so and it always makes him feel absolutely awful about himself and it takes days for him to recover from that. but always, the next day, he shows up at your door with a genuinely miserable look and a heart shaped chocolate box in his hands, with a small card taped on the front, clumsy cursive writing on the paper.

People really love to cynically abuse that whole "old dead white men" line don't they. Like there is a very genuine issue with how various systems of oppression (racism, misogyny etc.) mean that thinkers from privileged backgrounds got a disproportionate amount of attention and praise compared to those from a more marginalised position, with the theoretically contributions of the latter getting frequently mis-attributed or outright ignored. It doesn't mean that the contributions from said privileged thinkers are all inherently worthless on that basis alone.

Like it's a classic example of the way that liberals take structural critiques and turn them into a matter of personal morality. "Overrepresentation of privileged thinkers is bad" gets turned into "Privileged thinkers are all bad people". And it always gets used in the most cynical way possible. You hardly ever see this line used on thorough reactionaries like Nietzsche. It's mainly used to denounce progressive thinkers who, whatever flaws they had and bigotries they were unable to escape, still made innumerable contributions to the causes of liberation and laid the groundwork that was later developed and expanded by marginalised theoreticians. Like people should definitely read more Ho Chi Minh and Amilcar Cabral and Angela Davis, but that doesn't diminish the value of Marx and Lenin.

As important as it is to remind people of the contributions that marginalised people all over the world have made to Marxism (if only because even many Marxists themselves fail to appreciate this*), using it counter the whole "dead white guys" gotcha misses the point of why it's such a stupid thing to say. Because that line is a critique of a system, and it loses all power and meaning when removed from that context applied on the level of individuals. Bigotry is a dialectical structure and not a metaphysical condition; possessing privilege matters in terms of interaction with the broader world not as an ontological fact of your existence. Individuals do matter to some extent, but mainly in terms of how they fit into broader systems and not how systems fit around individuals. You need to realise all this if you want to get anywhere. This individualist bullshit only works as a tool for personal gratification and flagellation; it's masturbatory in the worst possible way

*even if you consciously support an ideology of anti-bigotry, it takes discipline and vigilance to properly unlearn all the biases instilled by life under Imperialist Capitalism and not everyone is successful at applying this

NOTES. Can’t tell if these are horribly ooc or not, but i’m sure you guys are sick of my apologies so I’ll try to stop 😕 and wow, reading through this whole yap sesh was pretty painful! My condolences to you, dear reader.

As the heir to the illustrious Mikage corporation, REO knew, deep down, that a time would come when he'd have to step into his parents' shoes and take control of the company. And speaking of which, his parents seem to be growing increasingly more eager to see him settle down, constantly badgering him about finding a ‘suitable partner’ whenever he visited them.

However, his career of being a professional soccer player meant that he would probably only be able to see them if he played games in Japan itself, which rarely happened anyway.

He wasn’t an idiot; maintaining a relationship with his schedule would be practically impossible. His partner would certainly get tired of it after a few months, and he wasn’t keen on the idea of forcing them to travel with him to every single match.

Adding on to his worries, the thought of starting a relationship with ulterior motives (in this case, merely to appease his parents) left a bitter taste in his mouth. Reo’s not exactly the type of guy who wants to break someone’s heart over this. The man was stumped for once, until by some stroke of genius, you came into mind.

Though not particularly close by any means, you’d met enough times for him to recognise your face. Given, that you’ve already got status as an heir to your own family’s fortune, his parents should also approve of you. Besides, since you’re someone familiar with the expectations of living a life like his, surely, the life of being his significant other shouldn’t be too jarring.

For what seems like the first time ever, Reo stumbles over his words — his usually confident demeanor giving way to a sense of nervousness that was unlike the man. And in spite of his attempts (?) to mask it, it was clear that this weighed heavily on him, even more so than his usual bravado could conceal.

“So, I was hoping you could consider-“

His smile falters as you quickly interject, a curt “I accept” escaping your mouth before he could even finish his carefully rehearsed ‘proposal’. The relief in his eyes was unmistakable, though tinged with a hint of disbelief at your response. Rather than immediately celebrating, Reo’s expression softens a little.

“You,“ he pauses, “You don’t need to make your decision so quickly, I get that it’s a difficult thing to ask of you…”

“Yep. And I’m agreeing.”

In hindsight, maybe the arrangement had fallen a little too seamlessly into place? Maybe he should’ve been more concerned with how…eagerly you accepted being his fake partner without a moment's hesitation (it honestly freaked him out slightly). But ultimately, it solved his problem!

With you by his side, he could continue his career while still making his parents happy. Alls well that ends well.

Of course being the over thinker he is, Reo still has doubts but you reassure him that you’re perfectly happy to spend your days in comfort and go on luxurious vacations with your friends if he had matches coming up.

He only seems more giddy once he notices it’s a voice message too, he just loves listening to you speak! Your voice is always so— “Reo, please go to sleep, it’s late for you right now, isn’t it? Call me back in the morning, don’t you dare think of staying up to text me.”

Hm, does he really do that? Reo’s never quite noticed, or thought about it, because he’d rather spend his time wondering what gift he should get you for his next surprise visit back home!

SAE’s attitude and abrasive personality is definitely one of his manager’s least favourite qualities about him. The man’s hatred for interviews and meet-and-greets, coupled with his unabashed insults towards those he found irritating, posed a challenge for his (manager) public image.

While some die-hard fans may have been drawn to his aloofness in the first place, it’s hardly the ideal for sponsorship deals or modeling contracts that he’s worked so hard to get — only for Sae to completely ignore them.

His manager is also the one who entertains the idea of him entering into a relationship in the first place. Perhaps, he mused, a significant other could ‘soften’ his rough edges and make him more approachable to the public. Though he doubt the man would ever agree to such a scheme, he was a bit desperate now. Can’t hurt to give it the old college try, right?

The obvious heartbroken expressions of the people leaving the room, along with the unmistakable voice of the Itoshi Sae in the flesh, uttering the word ‘rejected’, did little to ease the growing pit in your stomach.

Finally, your name was called and you enter the room with as little flair/flamboyance as you could, no need to embarrass yourself more than you already will.

His bored expression does little to boost your confidence and you found yourself avoiding direct eye contact as you introduce yourself sheepishly. “Hello, uhm- it’s nice to meet you. I’m L/N Y/N.”

There was something about your unassuming nature that intrigued him. You spoke about yourself with an honesty that bordered on indifference, almost as if you had resigned yourself to an inevitable rejection so you didn’t care how genuinely insane the things you were saying were. Like seriously, in college you went to a skate park drunk and came home with a horse?

But there’s one thing bugging him right now.

You flash him a smile, before swiftly getting up and exiting through the door without even letting him get a word in. Finally, that’s over with… You do feel a little bad for Sae though. Was he standoffish? Obviously. But hey, he was nice enough to listen to you rambling about everything under the sun so you at least hope he takes an interest in one of the people that comes in after you.

You almost forget about the whole fiasco since you believed you had created a lasting impression of someone who was most definitely not a good fit for a prodigy like him, as well as a bit of a weirdo. Imagine your shock at the email sent to you a few weeks later by his manager. To make a long paragraph short, you got the position! Well done?

Now, his manager arranged for the two of you to meet together for a first date to truly make sure this relationship would (at the bare minimum) allow you to be cordial with one another. If you’ve got a person like Sae on your hands, you learn to not expect things to turn positive.

His blunt and somewhat unnecessary remarks and stoicism could’ve easily derailed the evening, but to your credit, you held your own with decent resilience considering how timid you seemed upon your first meeting. Disregarding the occasional reaction at his words, you continue to be kind to him.

He’d never, ever, admit it out loud but he does feel a little guilty at how you just take his comments without complaint. Some form of annoyance from you would be expected, yet you only meet his words with a laugh or simply ignore them altogether — leaving him feeling unexpectedly unsettled. Also slightly questioning your self esteem.

You were walking out of a park when he was contemplating bringing the date to a close (he’s surprised he hadn’t done so earlier), before you suddenly bow your head with a smile on your face. One that really captivated Sae because of the actual, sheer sincerity in it.

“Thank you,” you say, and when he looks a little sceptical, you continue, “really. You’ve been nice to me even though I’ve just been talking your ear off this whole time, so I just wanted to say thanks for that. I liked today a lot, so- erm…if it’s not too much trouble, could we go on another? Date, I mean.”

With your words hanging in the air, he was at a loss for how to respond. Just what did you expect him to do after hearing that? Not decide right there and then that he wanted to give you the entire world and more?

Unlike the other two, KAISER’s situation can vary a little more. As in, his reasons for needing a pretend relationship can differ depending on anything. It could stem from dissatisfaction within his management, a desire to maintain his image, or simply on a whim. Regardless of the reason, you’re stuck with the bastard unless you want to lose all the money you get from doing this.

His arrogance is still hard to deal with, even though you thought you had steeled yourself for it beforehand. It doesn’t even seem to disappear even when the two of you are alone together; which by common sense, should be when you’re most comfortable with each other, no? He treats you like an accessory most times, but you can’t really complain if he’s the one paying your bills.

But, there are also times where his bravado feels forced, the occasional slip in his facade.

For better or for worse, you hesitate to say anything — not wanting to overstep any boundaries. You aren’t his actual s/o, you were getting paid as if the relationship was a career. Besides, would someone as overconfident as to call themselves ’emperor’ without cringing even want help from you?

If you’re the more compassionate type, you may just immediately cave in and try to help but even if you aren’t, it’ll be increasingly difficult to ignore him. One of these days, you realise he definitely doesn’t plan on seeking help himself.

Initially, he adamantly opposes any attempts of said help from you, making it clear he preferred to deal with his troubles alone or that he simply doesn’t need your help.

Your persistence is slightly alarming to Kaiser, who’s probably wondering if you’re trying to increase your allowance or something, but he still doesn’t give in (yet).

Suppressing a sigh, you turn on your heel after placing a cup of water and a modest plate of food on the coffee table. Another one of these nights again. Well, staying where you're evidently not wanted seems pointless. "Try to eat something before heading to bed, Michael. If you need anything, just tell me."

As you prepare to take a step forward, a sudden tug on your arm sends you tumbling to the floor.

Your assailant remains quiet, clutching your hand as if it were his lifeline. Awkwardly, you place your hand on his shoulder and try to engage him in small talk. Never have you ever thought you’d have to go on a ‘how’s the weather today’ rant in the midst of a possible mental breakdown, but here you are.

Though Kaiser doesn’t respond, he doesn't push you away either. It's progress of sorts, you suppose?

After a few more instances like that, there’s a gradual improvement in your relationship. Kaiser appears to be coping better with his emotions, even seeming happier than before. Good for him, you think to yourself when you notice it but it doesn’t exactly shock you. You figured that your dynamic with each other still wouldn’t change all that much.

You’d help him out whenever he needed you to, and both of you continue with your lives as usual. However, fate (or Kaiser himself) clearly had other plans.

For starters, he’s much more affectionate in private moments rather than it simply being for the media. He doesn’t do those elaborate displays like roses and gifts anymore — which you might think is a sign he’s growing more distant, but he remembers you saying you didn’t quite like it when there’s hundreds of cameras on you when accepting gifts like that. It’s more subtle, just how you like it.

There isn't a day that passes without him being by your side at some point in the day, either: resting his head on your shoulder, intertwining fingers, or wrapping his arms around your waist. Don’t forget there’s also the random pet names he bestows upon you. They aren’t at all cute or normal, but he doesn’t feel the need to explain the meaning behind them.

He genuinely cares if you’re around or not. Attending his matches had already become routine to you, it being necessary to maintain the image of being his supportive significant other but nothing beyond that.

While you never had the intention of not going anymore, you can’t help but notice Kaiser's new habit of personally inviting you to his matches. With a smug grin, he would insist on you showing up, emphasising how he wanted you in the crowd, cheering him on. Instead of receiving tickets through the usual channels (his manager, or whoever unlucky enough to cross paths with him that day), he likes to hand-deliver them to you.

With the crowd roaring in excitement, you figure it’s signalling the start of the match was close. What you don’t notice until it’s too late, is Kaiser's gaze finding its way to you. He takes a stride in your direction, his hand reaching out to gently lift your chin to face him.

Meeting his eyes, a questioning expression flickers across your features, as he lets out a dramatic sigh. Always so clueless, weren’t you. "Don’t you love me, Y/N?” he says with a uncharacteristic frown on his face, making it quite obvious that he’s pouting over something. Something you seem to do every time without fail nowadays.

“I spoil you too much,” you mutter, before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

✨ Sagittarius and Aquarius are so fucking similar. Both of them are chaotic af, love their freedom and think they're smarter than everyone else. People who have both of these in their big 6 have the most unhinged

✨ Whenever I had Libra or Taurus ASC on my Solar return chart I was lazy AS FUCK. I had no motivation to work whatsoever during those years, all I wanted to do was vibe and enjoy life. I also felt very relaxed and stress-free, when difficulties came I just went with the flow

✨ What is up with Gemini risings and always feeling intellectually insecure all the time? ^^^But let me tell you this not true at all, Gemini risings are some of the most brilliant people I’ve met with so much potential. Their problem is that they allow overthinking to get the best of them and end up doubting themselves 24/7. These are the type of people who have amazing ideas but they never pursue any them. They really struggle making decisions for themselves, they always need to ask for opinions first which is not a bad thing but this makes them come across as incapable or as someone who lacks self-sufficiency

✨ Mercurial signs (Virgo and Gemini) like to focus on concrete things and immediate reality, they process life by connecting one thing at a time and taking info as it comes, they focus on what's going on around them cause Mercury is all about multiplicity and details. With Jupiter signs on the other hand (Sag and Pisces) one thing about them is they don't care about details as long as things make sense as a whole, they see life from a more broad and general perspective, they prefer having a birds eye view of things because Jupiter is all about expansion and therefore it likes to encompass many things at once. This is why Virgo and Gemini rule mundane life themes and immediate reality while Sag and Pisces are more about general life lessons and higher knowledge

✨ Scorpio moons/8th house moons are the definition of an energy vampire fr. They just have a really poor understanding of healthy emotional boundaries, they expect you to give your all but aren't willing to reciprocate and always turn everything into a manipulation or mind game somehow which makes it pretty exhausting to be around them in the long run. Don't get me wrong, most of the ones I’ve met were very and good people but they always end up taking my energy away and make me feel emotionally burnt out

This does not mean they're simplistic, on the contrary this makes them surprisingly insightful fast thinkers and are not the type to be easily fooled

✨ I've seen people saying that hard aspects between Mercury-Pluto makes people misunderstand your words. This is not true, this happens with Neptune cause Neptune rules delusion, but Pluto is a very blunt and straightforward planet cause it's all about revealing the dark truths. Mercury-Pluto aspects makes someone very deliberate with their words and they know exactly what to say to make their message stick. You will understand their words exactly how they want you to understand them. What happens with hard aspects is that the native tends to have a more provocative approach in the things they say, they don't care if you're offended by what they say as long as what they say makes an impact. People can misunderstand their intentions because of this, but not their words

✨ The ironic thing about Aquarius placements is that they are very good when it comes to connecting with the masses, the public usually feels very drawn to them because they're very good at appealing to collective values which makes them come across as relatable to many people as a result. However, when you actually try to relate to them or connect one-on-one, you will find yourself with someone that is surprisingly elusive, distant and more distrustful than Scorpio placements which is a huge contrast from the welcoming vibe they give off to the public. ✨ That being said another reoccurring thing I’ve noticed with Virgo placements is that they love to predict things. But not in a mystical sense it’s more like they enjoy understanding things in such way that they’re able to easily put a label on them and easily predict what’s going on or how something works

✨ I have not seen a single Taurus placement who didn’t have the most insanely sexy and pleasant voice ever. Doesn’t matter if they sing of not, just hearing their voice is so delightful

✨ Aquarius Mercury really believe their opinions are the most ultimate and correct opinions out there. They are certain that their judgment is always 100% objective (aka always true) so in their mind if you slightly disagree with them that means you’re mediocre, dumb or narrow-minded.

✨ There's always a duality in all mutable signs. Sagittarius can be very humorous and optimistic but also very dark and profound. Gemini can be curious and chaotic but also very analytical and logical. Virgo can be picky and perfectionistic but also very permissive and conformist. Been thinking about the implications of Jayce needing a sponsor/patron to get into the academy.

Jayce Talis:

-is from Piltover

-comes from a family of good standing and moderate wealth

-is a certifiable genius

-even outside of his hextech dream is an accomplished engineer

-has no criminal record or other blemishes on his background

-presumably passed every relevant aptitude test

-ticks all the superficial boxes (looks, health, charisma, etc)

And yet, this guy still requires the patronage of a wealthier house with a family member on the council in order to pursue his career in academia. Viktor manages to do without, but as we see there is a definite limit that Viktor has pretty much hit even by the start of S1, stalling in the role of Heimerdinger's assistant, a position of influence but one that is necessarily limited to whatever is approved of by Heimerdinger. Jayce is able to ascend higher only with the full force of his advantages behind him, and even then he's almost ruined by the first major blow to his reputation.

Also, despite hextech becoming widely used by the general public in several capacities by the time of S2, Ambessa can't find any other scientists among the Piltover elite who can figure it out. Some of that might be down to the smarter ones just not wanting to cooperate with a Noxian warlord, but we've seen the clever minds in Zaun figure out how to manipulate hextech with at least enough success to avoid obliterating themselves in the attempt (mostly), and with way less access to any of Jayce or Viktor's research on the subject than is presumably available to their academic peers in Piltover. You're telling me there's not a single would-be authoritarian self-serving prominent tech guy in the upper city who can also figure out hextech?

But the thing is, I can in fact believe that, because in order for Jayce to get hextech off the ground he needed not only House Kiramman's support but also Mel's, like he had to launch an entire political career alongside his actual scientific research, and he started nowhere near the bottom. Mel's probably right when she says that if she hadn't stepped in to support him (regardless of how badly the whole hextech thing actually turned out) then Jayce would have either ended up sabotaged or had his work stolen out from under him by someone with more political traction.

There's a strong implication in that, and in the apparent apprenticeship system of the academy, and in the stupidity of the head of the council prior to the explosion (guy whose name I can't remember, who Mel gave the child's toy to), that many "prominent geniuses" of Piltover are just stealing the ideas of students and assistants with less social mobility, stamping their names over the accomplishments of people in their employ and acting like they came up with all of it themselves. Heimerdinger's not the type to take credit for Viktor's achievements, but I'd bet that he's an exception to the rule. If Viktor had taken up with a different employer, he probably would have had to resign himself to only gaining ground in their name, to just making the progress he hoped to make without ever getting credit for his own innovations. Heck, that still kind of happens even in his employment with Heimerdinger and partnership with Jayce -- despite the two of them not actively diminishing Viktor's contributions at all, the council in general dismisses him as more of an assistant than 50% of the mind behind the hexgates. Jayce is Mister Progress, and no one even tries to put Viktor's face on a mug (not that he'd want it but that's beside the point).

So what does this say for the talented thinkers who don't luck into sponsorships with the most influential houses in the city or catch the eye of established council members? What about the geniuses and revolutionary thinkers who attended the academy while Heimerdinger wasn't looking for new assistants, whose apartments never blew up and caught the eye of ambitious young politicians or chill science bros? Like absolutely the fact that few of the bright young minds in Zaun have less than a snowball's chance in hell of following in Viktor's footsteps (especially after hostilities escalate) is atrocious, but things are so bad that most of the bright young minds in Piltover are probably stuck holding assistant and secretarial positions and working unpaid internships under guys from wealthier families who aren't half as capable, but whose names nonetheless go on all the papers, and whose house sigils get stamped on all the innovations.

And that's if they can even manage to get into the academy at all.

Like I can see why we didn't get more information on how Viktor went from being a poor cripple in the undercity to one of Heimderdinger's assistants, and why tptb were throwing around ideas of his parents basically just getting a uniform, sneaking him into the academy, and encouraging him to bluff his way through until he was enough of an established presence that no one questioned whether he actually got there legitimately or not. Because the only other thing I can think of is that he did get some kind of official scholarship or backer, but that it was the equivalent of a predatory student loans situation, where getting into the academy set him into debt so far that if hextech hadn't taken off, he would have probably spent the rest of his life paying it back.

Not a deal offered to many and not a deal most would take, though considering Viktor wasn't expecting to live very long unless he could find a miracle anyway, it probably seemed like a better option than just waiting for the pollution and chemical runoff in the undercity to finish killing him while he stayed at home.

Anyways. Yeah. Piltover's a shithole too, I think. That place has gotta be just lousy with Elon Musk types.

Leonardo

Ballet is such a beautiful art form in his eyes, especially when you dance it. The way you move like the running water of a stream has him infatuated. Your devotion and knowing that you've been doing this from such a young age is amazing - drawing similar parallels to how he is with his Ninjistu. Because of this, you have a mutual understanding of your needs to take time for practice. How else will you both amount to the best of your abilities?

When you do get time for one another, more often than not you still find ways of practising in each other's presence. Leo isn't often easily distracted but you somehow find a way of holding his attention when you rehearse. He just can't find it in himself to look away when your body straightens out into a perfect arabesque.

"Shouldn't you be focusing on your own regime?" you ask through a grin, barely even looking in his direction.

All he can do is smile fondly as he returns to focusing on his forms. The only thing that can detour him from his training is you and he holds no shame in admitting it either.

Raphael

It's such a juxtaposition to how he is as a person. Raphael has always hated the way his family would call him aggressive, a brute who needs to reign in it, but those words ring true in his mind when he watches you dance. You are absolutely stunning - a porcelain ballerina inside a music box. How could someone as elegant and delicate as yourself possibly be with someone like him?

At the start of your relationship, he'd always fear that he'd somehow hurt you with just a simple touch of his fingers. Even after all this time, he still catches himself making a conscious effort to be more careful when you're in his arms. He just doesn't want to run the risk of hurting his precious ballerina. The way you hold yourself with such grandeur couldn't be more opposite to his stature.

So it's a surprise when you watch him sparring with his brothers and say, "You move so effortlessly! That was amazing."

It takes him for a spin but serves as a heartfelt reminder that deep down he isn't as barbaric as everyone else claims him to be. When it comes to you, anyway.

Donatello

He would probably find a way to think about your movements geometrically. The way you can thoughtlessly angle your arms and legs at such perfect angles is fascinating to him. Don't even get him started on the gentle momentum of your pirouette: it's as though you're in a state of inertia, only being forced to move by the tame tug of a magnet.

Much like Leo, he is just in awe of your movements. Dancing isn't much his thing, however, so he feels a little out of his depth when you want to dance with him. He's a thinker, a builder, a fighter; the only thing his hands and body are good for is inventing and taking down criminals. When you start playing the music, his mind trips over the basic forms you've tried to teach him through word of mouth, instead getting lost in the ways he could mess it up.

"Just turn that brain off for a moment," you say, wearing that sweet smile he loves as you hold his hands. "Keep your eyes on me, okay? I'll lead."

Admittedly, it's a clumsy display on his end but you two have fun, nonetheless. He also gains a new appreciation for what you do in that moment.

Michelangelo

This guy loves music, especially of the upbeat genres, so it's different to see what you dance to. That doesn't mean to say he doesn't like it though. Although it's a little slow-paced for his usual taste, he still loves it. He would probably try and teach you some of his moves and you would do the same for him. It's not a discredit to his abilities but he definitely struggles to replicate whatever it is you attempt to teach him.

Somehow, you find a way to integrate the fast-moving music with your graceful flow. The assumably opposing styles of dance turn out to work in perfect tandem with one another and it's actually pretty kick-ass! Not to mention, it's a good time when you try to implement each other's techniques in the little dancing sessions you often engage in. This is usually in the kitchen when you guys are cooking together with some tunes in the background.

"This kind of reminds me of that one movie," you muse. "I think it's called 'Save the Last Dance' or something."

Sure enough, you add it to one of your movie nights to watch together. None of the dancers in it have anything on you though.

When you, when you have conversations with PLD about the game, he is so intuitive and knows what's going on and loves to talk about x's and o's and different strategy, and...

He's one of those guys - like some guys you talk to, they can't really remember what went on in the game, they're like 'Uh, yeah, I think... what, what period was that?' Like he remembers everything that happens, so you reference one play from the previous game, he'll know exactly the time of it, what happened, who the opposing player was.

He's just one of those just that really, really is a deep thinker of the game and so he has a lot of those x's and o's hockey talks with a lot of the coaches.

Carbery: [takes a deep breath before answering] Ah. That's a hard question, I mean. [stutters some] I don't know. I honestly, I don't know the answer to that. I can just speak for him coming here, it just felt right, when he walked in the door and he got to know our guys, and you could feel early on in camp I just saw a player that felt completely comfortable in our locker room.

And there's a lot of credit that goes around to our leadership group, our players, the locker room, coaching staff, of just making him feel like he can be himself and play his game. And it's been really, really seamless, there hasn't been a lot of bumpy stretches for his game.

It's just, right when he got here he felt comfortable, got to his game, understood the expectations, and we let him, y'know, be himself and play his game, and he's excelled.

Not that I was in the room, but like. imagine you have a player who can recount exact sequences during a shift, a player that is SO details oriented and SO hungry to break down the game that he's apparently talking to every coach on the ice after practice, to the point media are asking "what the hell is up with that", and you somehow, somehow fail to recognise it and address it. He NEEDED help, and by 'help' i mean like half a dozen coaches to point his hockey autism at (<- opinion. complete fabrication of my mind. however!!!)

I'm a little obsessed with what all went wrong in LA, tbh, because that team is a systems-oriented team and has been for a long time now, and sounds like it could've been the perfect fit on paper given their self described "tight checking" and focus defensive responsibility... like what the hell happened there?? aside from the whole, he's a left shot and they needed a right shot, and they had too many centres which pushed him down the depth chart so they made the stupid move to put him on the wing, and they never gave him a role or explained to him what they wanted from him??? <- y'know what I probably just diagnosed everything that went wrong just now LOL

Yeah he definitely wants someone older. I feel like it can be a little confusing cuz he doesn't want to adhere to traditional roles but he likes tradition but I think again that's more of I'm pretty sure he's like christian/catholic if I remember correctly. I thought about this a few times, and I actually tried to guess Wesker's sign based on the canon lore 😂 but I'll try to guess it for the others as well.

I assumed Wesker was an Aquarius. He is a thinker; every action and idea of his is backed up by logical arguments. Aquariuses are clever, creative, and intelligent, but they also are distant and struggle to express their emotions. They are critical thinkers, always looking outside the box, and that's why they are great in the medical field.

I think Chris is a Taurus because he tends to be stubborn sometimes, but he is also a very reliable person on whom you can count (given how Jill, Piers, and even Wesker trusted him). He is also a generous person, always putting others above himself.

Leon I think it's cancer, because he tends to hide his feelings and trauma behind a "tough guy" mask. He is also cracking one-liners in tensed or uncomfortable situations to hide his feelings (like when he did in Vendetta when Chris found him in that bar).

Something tells me Krauser is a Capricorn because, as an earth sign, he is pretty deeply rooted in his own ideologies, and once he sets his mind on something, he is very determined to achieve that. He is also very reliable and can be a shoulder to lean on, but he can also be very cold and pessimistic (given his relationship with Leon).

Luis is a Pieces because, as a sign, they tend to be more emphatic, and I think he is very intuitive and leans towards other characters's emotions. He also seems like a romantic guy, driven by his own passion, and has a deep desire to help others (this fact would also be influenced by his past).

I think Carlos is a Scorpio because he is very determined when he sets his mind to something and also very passionate. He went through hell to find a vaccine for Jill; he didn't abandon her, and he helped her all the way. Karl is a Sagittarius. I think because he is a free-spirited guy. He didn't miss a chance to rebel against Miranda, and he always followed his own agenda regardless of what others said. They also know no limit and have no boundaries when it comes to their ideologies (that's seen in how much he developed his soldati).

Ethan is definitely a Virgo because of how practical he is. You put an average man in a house infested with monsters, and you'd think he would die instantly, but no, he learnt how to use his environment to survive (he learnt how to craft ammo and medicine).
