Overheating, sweaty, chills, near constant shivering. Skin had paled and vision constantly swimming in an out of focus. Akechi had still managed to keep food in his stomach, but he wasn't sure how long that would last. More than once, a glance was made toward his phone on the nightstand...

But who would come?

Who would help?

Futaba?

...Akira?

He could hardly move at all, his lightheadedness was so disorienting and dizzying that if he tried, his vision would fade for a few seconds until he settled again.

Slowly and carefully, he reached for his phone.

"...That must've been hard for both of you." Sae had to grow up immediately, having no parental support and a younger sibling to take care of all at once. And...she never told him much about Makoto--he never knew she'd been mute before, so hearing about it in this little meeting of theirs...

That was just another added challenge. It was no wonder her desires had been warped. At least from what they saw, Makoto wasn't the source.

...But then again, they did set him up. He didn't know what the actual source was.

He quickly pushed that from his mind.

The way his mother said it, he always thought it was a mantra to keep herself going or cheer herself up. Now...he wasn't so positive about that line of thought.

It was rather endearing to hear him talk so highly of his mother. Makoto could tell he really loved her. As he spoke, Makoto could hear how special she meant to him. It reminded her of the conversations she'd had with her speech therapist about her father way back when she went mute.

"She must have really loved you," Makoto replied. "From the way you talk about her, she seems like she was a wonderful person. I wish I could have met her."

"I wish I had more time with my parents too. I barely remember much of my mother, and my father was often busy with work. Not that he didn't try to make time for us. But I agree with you, I wish I had more time with them."

Around noon was when the decision was made. He'd already taken his prescribed medication, but yet, he was hesitating. He'd have to wait until it was night time, which was fast approaching. The sun was setting...

Akechi pulled his hair back and tied it, then pulled on a hoodie he'd found. The same one he wore when he met with Futaba.

After leaving the motel, his feet just sort of carried him where he needed to go. Right outside Leblanc, after night fell. He stared up at the sign, then casually through the window. Sojiro wasn't anywhere to be seen...was he out? There weren't any customers in there, either, and the sign said CLOSED. So...maybe he waited too long.

But...

He reached forward, turned the knob--

maruki convinces himself he isn't being manipulative and he acts as though he isn't but he so is. and its foreshadowed even from the beginning. i mean he used snacks to bribe the thieves into going to counseling just like he used other tactic to (bribe, manipulate, coerce) the thieves to living in his reality

...He really did need to reign in his pride. It's been bruised and beaten down, there was no use in continuously trying to build it back up to what it once was.

Maybe it was good for him that...control was...still out of his hands...

No, he still needed some semblance of it. He wasn't about to be the public's puppet next.

He was alone right now, but there was a near constant stream of voices on the other side of the door. People constantly wanting entry, while the hospital staff tried to turn them away. Well, perhaps that was their karma.

Her phone went off and she turned her head briefly to see it was indeed a text from Akechi. Unfortunately for him, she was in the middle of a boss fight that required all of her attention. It was one of those bosses that weren't hard but required her to use her concentration mode to ensure that she won. So there was a few minutes with no response before she won.

Okay, now to respond to Akechi.

[Text From: Futaba] Futaba: Sorry about that. Would you rather be actually dead? Futaba: I know what you wanted to do. Futaba: But I had no choice. Futaba: also do you know how hard it is to get blood stains out of clothing? Futaba: very hard

It was true, though obviously not his fault anyways. One doesn't exactly control where blood goes, and like water, blood loves to go absolutely everywhere and stained because blood was an asshole. Still, she couldn't help but to feel awful about stripping his control away, even if it was inadvertently. There was always a chance this could happen, just was surprised at the quickness of it all. Futaba: Still, I do apologize for it, I really do feel bad about it.
