First day of school...Fin hadn't really been thinking too much about it, to be honest. Outside of hiding from the kids who went to do their first round of Hero course training, they'd mostly stayed away...until the final bell had rung, and they were all but sure a grand majority of the students had gone home. That was when they'd been wandering the halls of U. A.,...

And spotted a student, still in the halls. Their head tilted slightly, letting their pace increase from its moderately-slow walk to a more average speed.

"Kid? Whatcha still doin' on school grounds? Didn't th' bells ring...I'unno, an hour ago?" They slipped their phone out of their pocket- eyes sliding over the time before finding the teen's visage again. Their phone was once more pocketed, head tilting slightly to the side. "Y'waitin' on someone?" Although this didn't seem like 'waiting for someone'...

More like 'getting the courage to leave'. But- Fin had never been that good at reading people unless they were actively threatening them, so...who were they to judge?

"...or do y'need a minute...?" They stopped short of the edge of a safe distance, far enough away to quickly leave if it was wanted- or walk closer if they thought it was needed.

Did you noticed Sam's time on IG these last 3 days? Back in Scotland?

Yes, of course I noticed the times he posted on IG. I keep track of them and list them. That's why I'm always amazed when people jump to all kind of conclusions that do not match with the reality but for some kind of reason, mostly confirmation bias, add up to the story they've build in their heads.

I mean, the ones claiming he barely posted on IG this whole week and make assumptions, he must have been ill (as his voice in the video yesterday seem to sound a little sore) to people way to much focussed on dates for which there is hardly a shred of evidence, only smoke and mirrors, now claiming they found the answer on the eternal chicken and egg question. 🙄

Anyway, it doesn't cure fatal diseases nor will it solve any wars. So, nope not gonna entertain that nonsense.

So yes, I did look at the times he posted, last Friday only 3 reposts all at the same time, just before 7pm (UK time). Could indicate flying somewhere. Could be back home, could be elsewhere.... and then yesterday the video announcing his whisky available in Canada.

Surely enough I looked a bit into it, curiosity kills the cat, and I did notice the Scottish flag on the framed poster.

So, at itself it doesn't really determine that it must be in Scotland (or his home for that matter) someone in China with Scottish roots or loving Burns work could order it and put it on their wall as well....

I never saw this poster at his house, which also doesn't exclude that option, as it could simply be a corner in the tavern he hasn't shown us yet. It's at least not the usual spot he records his videos in his tavern, but sure he could have chosen that spot for St. Andrews day 🤷‍♀️

What made me doubt though was the glass he used for his whisky....

I asked myself, wouldn't he use his own SS whisky glass when he was at home? As far as I can remember he always does, and it's only in hotel rooms we see him use other.

Oh and for the people saying he didn't wear his rings, well... I do think he can take them off in a hotel room as well.

Anyway, those were the thoughts I had, there isn't much more to go by. The tiny furniture parts we can see for a sec or less isn't enough to go by. Add to that we don't know when he recorded this video, though I don't think it was weeks ago and do think it is recent if not RT.

So, yes it's back to the times, while yesterday his first reposted story was quite early for UK, today (so far) it's between noon and the beginning of the evening UK times. It does match mostly UK, but I'm not entirely sure, so it's still speculation.

I know you al will draw your own conclusions, and that's okay. But for my sanity, please use your good sense of reality. I'm still looking for one eyeball, as I rolled my eyes so much at my inbox...

HOUSTON - Several Houston-area bars and clubs have received a 90-day suspension from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) after an investigation into alleged human trafficking.

The TABC and the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance performed the raids, leading to the emergency suspensions at nine locations that the TABC says were "in flagrant violation of international justice."

The commission says the raids are the result of ten years of investigations, which involved the TABC, as well as local, state and federal law enforcement.

"This operation was a massive undertaking that is likely the largest of its kind in Texas history," wrote TABC Chairman Kevin J. Lilly in a statement.

The suspended businesses included:

All nine locations received the suspensions under Alcoholic Beverage Code Sec. 11.614.

The code allows for the emergency suspensions if a business poses a "continuing threat to the public welfare."

"Our primary goal tonight was to shut down these hives of criminal activity and to put a stop to the continued victimization of the people held there against their will. This investigation is not over, and we’ll be working closely with our partners in HTRA to track down all of the suspected traffickers involved in these heinous crimes," wrote Lilly.

More information is expected to be released about the raids next week.

On April 4th 1617 John Napier, the mathematician, died.

It’s said that Napier is the nearest Scotland has produced to a 'Renaissance Man', at least as far as mathematics and the sciences are concerned. To the philosopher David Hume he was "the person to whom the title of a great man is more justly due than any other whom his country ever produced". The historian Christopher Smout has listed his achievements as including "a new type of screw-drainage for coal mines", "the use of salt as an agricultural fertiliser", "military burning glasses" and "self-propelled armoured chariots like tanks".

His enduring fame rests on his 'discovery' of logarithms in 1614 which propelled him into the front rank of European scientists alongside his contemporaries Kepler and Tycho Brahe.

Not much is known about his early life except for the fact that he was the son of a Scottish landowner and official and received a privileged upbringing. As a member of the nobility, he was tutored privately at home for a few years before being sent to St Salvator’s College, St Andrews. It was here that he first became deeply interested in theology though he did not acquire in-depth knowledge in mathematics until later.

For reasons unknown, he left the college before earning his degree and it is believed that he moved to some other educational institute for his higher studies. Eventually he began managing his estates and pursued mathematics as a hobby. Among his several contributions to the field, his invention of logarithms is regarded as his greatest.

In 1614 he wrote Mirifici Logarithmorum Canonis Descriptio which contained 90 pages of tables of natural logarithms and also contained theorems in spherical trigonometry known as Napier’s Rules of Circular Parts.

Now I can appreciate why these things are necessary in science etc I have to say, I hate maths, don’t mistake that with arithmetic, as I am quite adept at counting, the times table and division etc, trigonometry, algebra, logarithms can quite simple GTF.

Which leads me to the final party of this post, John Napier was seen as a devoted and deeply religious family man, but in fact several members of John Napier’s family – respected and wealthy participants of Edinburgh society - were commonly known to be wizards or sorcerers. Their necromantic power was feared by nobles as well as peasants from far and wide.

This was at a time when James VI was actively attending and persecuting many poor people, mainly women, putting them to death after days and weeks of torture, had Napiers family not been landed gentry, they would have been the ideal candidates for these actions, money eh, changes everything.

Was John Napier involved in this? Well there is no proof of it, he was however a free thinker and thought outside the box, a very clever man, two examples of this here, initially caused the witchcraft tag to be be placed on him……

Rumours spread that he was a warlock after he enlisted the help of the cockeral to discover which if his servants had been stealing from him. Each servant was ordered to go into a darkened room and stroke the cockeral - the bird would crow, said Napier, when the guilty servant touched it.

The bird remained silent but Napier stunned the household by immediately identifying the culprit. Surely this was sorcery. But all he had done was put soot on the cockerel’s feathers - the innocent servants all had black on their hands, while the guilty one’s were clean because he was afraid to touch the bird.

At Merchiston, when pigeons belonging to a neighbouring landowner had been eating Napier’s grain, he threatened to restrain them. 'Do so, if you can catch them,’ scoffed his neighbour. Next morning, Napier’s servants could be seen stuffing hundreds of semi-conscious pigeons into sacks. Onlookers were convinced Napier had bewitched them - in fact he had simply scattered succulent peas soaked in wine to get the birds drunk and incapable.

But before his death Napier had left full details of how his logarithms had been calculated, and had left one final invention as a boon to the merchant classes. Napier’s Rods, or Napier’s Bones as they were called from the material they were made of, were in effect a powerful "pocket calculator”, as seen in the second pic.

Napier was twice married; first, in 1571, to Elizabeth, daughter of Sir James Stirling of Keir, by whom he had a son and a daughter; secondly, to Agnes, daughter of James Chisholm of Cromlix, by whom he had ten children. His eldest son, Archibald, who succeeded him, was raised to the rank of a baron by Charles I., in 1627, under the title of lord Napier, which is still borne by his descendants. A very elaborate life of him was published in 1835.

One headline on a spoofed Washington Post site read "White House Miscalculated: Conflict With Ukraine Strengthens Russia." The Justice Department also charged a pair of Russian nationals--both employees of the state-run RT network - with covertly funneling $10 million to Nashville-based Tenet Media to produce Kremlin-friendly content. Most of that cash allegedly went to Tenet's stable of "hardcore MAGA" influencers, including You Tube stars Benny Johnson and Tim Pool. It's a reminder that Russian election interference on behalf of Donald Trump "was never a hoax," said Philip Bump in The Washington Post. But now, instead of St. Petersburg bot farms, Moscow has Americans doing its dirty work.

"Americans should be informed of foreign efforts to mislead them,” said Noah Rothman in National Review. But it's not just Russia - "all of America's enemies" are doing it. Iran was behind the recent hack of Donald Trump's campaign, and it has backed news-like websites aimed at undermining U.S. support for Israel. China has meddled in local elections. Yet "it serves Democratic political objectives" to focus solely on Russia. Anyway, this scheme did not deliver much "bang for the ruble,” said J.D. Tuccille in Reason. The 2,000 videos on Tenet's now-shuttered YouTube channel clocked a mere 8,000 views each. So Russia paid them "to say things they were already saying" to a small audience. Should we really be worried?

Yes, said Tom Nichols in The Atlantic, because this is likely "only the tip of the iceberg." The Justice Department noted that a Kremlin-linked propaganda outfit had identified some 2,800 online influencers as potential mouthpieces for Moscow.

We have a social media grifter class filled with easy targets for foreign recruitment, and "a big slice of the American public" that's eager to lap up "wild conspiracies" and tune out legitimate news. The Russians have "scads of money" to exploit this weakness in our democracy. "And plenty of Americans are despicable enough to take their cash."

I've been looking into trying out some more custom scripts, and I've been eyeing Ride the Cyclone, but it's been through some substantial updates since you covered it for the script-a-day. If you're willing to give your thoughts on, I'd love to hear them!

Hey, thanks for the ask! I'd love to give my thoughts on the updated RtC. I think the changes make the script feel a little different, but ultimately help the script be more balanced and fun while maintaining its super unique flavor.

For reference, here's v4.6:

You'll recognize the Boffin, Xaan, Golem, and at least some of these Townsfolk for sure, but many of these characters have been swapped out since my Script-A-Day. On the evil team, the Boomdandy and Mastermind replace the Goblin and Mez — the Goblin and Boomdandy share a lot of design space and share similar roles on the script (down to the Golem interaction with the Boomdandy: be careful!), while the Mastermind explores a new direction with the jinx, which goes as follows:

Mastermind / Al-Hadikhia: If the Al-Hadikhia dies by execution, and the Mastermind is alive, the Al-Hadikhia chooses 3 good players tonight: if all 3 choose to live, evil wins. Otherwise, good wins.

There's no traditional "mastermind day" here, and if a presumed Demon is executed, good will have to think carefully about the next set of Al-Had choices (which get announced as normal, due to the jinx): if all live, the game might just end. It's another escape hatch that can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

The Outsider suite has also seen some changes: Plague Doctor and Damsel hide themselves a bit more than the Recluse and Klutz they replaced, to cover up when exactly the Xaan night is — for a little while. The PD-Boomdandy jinx can also frame an Outsider in the chaos, and reads as follows:

Plague Doctor / Boomdandy: If the Plague Doctor is executed and the Storyteller would gain the Boomdandy ability, the Boomdandy ability triggers immediately.

It's indistinguishable from the PD actually being the Boomdandy, so can bring Xaan worlds in or out of contention in the ten-to-one countdown and rush to point at someone.

Some notes:

The Knight is incredibly powerful at ruling out powerful characters as being Boffined Demons. To that end, a Xaan 1 showing the Demon can be powerful - unless it's obviously Xaan 1! Support it with one or even 2 Outsider bluffs, or otherwise give the Knight true info if the game looks like it'll shake out as obvious Xaan 1 so they start turning on their pings.

The Preacher might seem strange here, but it's very useful for ruling out Boomdandy candidates. After all, a preached Boomdandy can't explode, so is always a safe execution!

If you're putting the Damsel in the bag, be very careful about what Boffin ability (or PD-Boffin ability) you give the Demon, so they don't find the Damsel by themselves. Definitely avoid Boffin-Dreamer and Boffin-Philosopher in a Damsel game, and I'd be a little careful about Undertaker, too.

When giving yourself a Plague Doctor ability, gain an out-of-play ability if you can — it's usually the more fun choice to do so, and is more inline with the intent of the character. That being said, sometimes you just can't (e.g. the only out of play Minion is Boomdandy and the PD died at night), so gain an in-play one then.

From Paradox: If the Plague Doctor gives the ST the Xaan ability on what would be the Xaan night, it starts poisoning immediately. Otherwise, it'll usually end up doing nothing.

When running the Boomdandy's ten-to-one countdown, make sure you know it doesn't have to be exactly ten real-life seconds. Depending on the size of the game, you might increase the time between numbers to allow for a longer countdown. Don't make it too long — after all, the Boomdandy is still an Minion, so should help the evil team — but it can be unfun for both sides if the countdown is too short.

Oh, and before I sign off, if you haven't already, make sure to read my Script-A-Day on an earlier version of RtC here! Most of what I said about running and bagbuilding it still applies to the new version. Have fun, and let me know how it goes!

then, almost as suddenly as the posts began, they stopped, and some noticed that all mentions of this greenblood had been stricken from all of his accounts. they never really brought him up again, but the mystery of what happened to that guy drove entire forum threads for perigrees, with some claiming it was a hoax, and others bearing screencapped evidence that were scrubbed off of refusian web forums.

i say all of that, to ask you: do you ever recall seeing any mention of this greenblood yourself? if you followed AFTER the drama, i understand, but i wanted to get your opinion on the matter. ive been attempting to contact other highblood followers of lohkii's accounts for comment, and so far you've been the most amenable, so i appreciate you humoring me.

Kota Game head cannon because I'm binging the show and playing Hoi4

Dale- War games obviously. Hearts of iron mostly. I imagine he also likes games like War thunder and those really in depth games. Thinking specifically I would say he would really like Far Cry 5 and Battlefield 1. He's already mentally unstable enough to stand Hoi. But he would definitely not play properly and just use console commands himself powerful and take over the world or something. "What do you mean I can't get the achievement?! It took muscle and sweat to cheat in this game!"

Hank- He would get what he likes from Dale. Historical and RTS type games, old man war games. Tank simulator, submarine simulator etc. until he finds out about Simulator games. House flipper, power wash simulator, Gardener simulator etc. he would love them all and play at any point he could. He would also see any minute detail and critique it if it was to be wrong, and get mad when the game isn't as in depth as we would like it. "Gosh darn it. This game doesn't tell the difference between St. Augustine and Bermuda."

Bill- No doubt he would like visual novels and dating sims. Absolutely no doubt. I don't have any other suggestions honestly. He would love to make characters especially. Honestly if a game has a romance mechanic he'd love it. "So you're saying she's... romanceable? I-is he.. romanceable?"

Boomhauer- I honestly don't see him as a big gamer. That or he's an intense, hardcore and very good online gamer. Fortnite, Battlefield, Pubg, TF2. "Talkin bout, dang ole kids on game, man, can't even play, without some dang ole kid yapping at me tell ya what"

When in his Doctor gear, he ditches the horrid yellow boots and stuffy dress shirt and tie, opting instead for the turtleneck and dress shoes, keeping the jacket open. As for the glasses, why cover the money maker?

And, of course, he always keeps his Happy Face Mask on. Always.

Backstory:

Before the war, Eugene was a salesman. He grew up in Wellington Wells, helping his family out with their general store. He was the one who would advertise for the store, posting ads on the billboards around town. He had a knack for selling people on products. Other businesses would reach out to him to help sell their products, for a price. Eugene thought nothing of it, since, even if the family business wouldn't be selling as much, he was still bringing in money.

This continued, with him advertising for more places, eventually making commercials for them.

When the first batch of Joy came out, he was one of the main people advertising it. As new batches came out, and Joy became rapidly popular, his ads were put on inbetween Uncle Jack - an easy way to remind people that they can get their hands on bottled happiness for the low low price of nothing.

With the rise of Joy Doctors, he was invited to join, as a way for the people of Wellington Wells, especially the working class, to be more accepting of this new force. The invitation was accepted.

Of course, the number one rule of sales is to know your audience, as well as your product. He was aware of the downsides of Joy - the memory loss, the withdrawals - and he, personally, wanted none of it. He had not been effected the way the rest of the town was by the Very Bad Thing. And he definitely didn't regret his choice of profession, no no he did not. So there was no reason to put himself through the negatives.

Besides, if you can't accept the negatives, how will you know what to leave out in your pitch?

Deadass doesn't know who he is. At all. They probably would get along somewhat (before he went off Joy), but RT would most likely find him annoying after a while.

He is a client of hers, for Sunshine. They... don't really like each other. But business is business.

He knows who Ollie Starkey is, but couldn't care less honestly. If they ever did meet, RT would find him hilarious.

L@st thing we need is another port@l rel@ted injury ??: ive got it… just back up so he can get through..! *with the confirmation the rust gets off the purples back and backs away while the purple steps to the side of the portal. With a heave the gold pushes the portal open further allowing for a blue with overly large horns to get through with some assistance by the purple*. *with everyone else through the gold stops actively holding the portal open, slumping forward slightly from the excursion. The purple crouching down and pulling them through before the portal finally shuts and the rust introduces them*.
