So, Thalia clearly wanted to talk to Jason alone in tlh and is kind of disgruntled Jason asked Leo to stay. But Jason is afraid and it’s all too much and he can’t do this alone. Leo was ready to go and give them privacy, but when Jason asks him to stay, Leo agrees immediately. Leo‘s a joking dumbass throughout most of that conversation, but he’s there for Jason. He tries to be supportive. Afterwards, when Jason’s clearly struggling, Leo makes an effort to walk next to him and try to make him feel better.

Leo also taps out ‘Love you’ in Morse code onto his knee when Thalia talks about Beryl. I now raise the following concept to you: Annabeth knows Morse code. Potentially, this means Thalia also knows Morse code. Thalia does not have context for this message being about Leo’s mom.

I’m currently highly entertained by the thought that she just fully assumed they were either dating or getting there. This doesn’t come up until they’re having a conversation ages later and Thalia casually asks how his boyfriend is doing and Jason just smiles and goes “Leo’s great :D” before pausing in confusion because they just got together and he did not tell her they were dating yet.

Thalia proceeds to give Jason shit about the fact that she figured out him and Leo were into each other months before either of them realized it forever.

Jason knew that Leo was alive and even went to go look for him.

Imagine the worry as the months dragged on, not knowing why Leo wasn’t coming back. Imagine the waiting, the wondering. Was he okay? Was he hurt? Was that message faked, did Jason just imagine it?

Leo has had experience running away. If he wanted to disappear, he’d know how. What if… what if he didn’t want to be found?

And then the thoughts start to spiral. Was it something Jason did? Was Leo mad at him? Why didn’t Leo tell him his plan- could he not trust him? Was Leo stuck somewhere and needed help, or was he not coming back because he didn’t want to see Jason? Maybe he’d gone off with Calypso and forgotten all about them… all about him. Maybe Leo hates him now. Maybe he always hated Jason, and had to die to escape him. What does that say about Jason as a friend? As a leader? As a person? Why wasn’t his friend coming home?

jason should be allowed to nibble on his friends. he's just a little guy starting to unmask. chomp! he doesn't bite hard enough to draw blood or hurt don't worry. he also has stupidly sharp teeth.

he's like a dog he gets random moments with uncontrollable amounts of energy and before he just paced and now he runs circles in the backyard at full speed. leo made the fence rounded so he doesn't bang into it and hurt himself while bounding from one end to another. jason zoomies.

the rage I feel when reading Blood of Olympus chapters 45-56 is almost equivalent in magnitude to the absolute joy I experience when reading The Last Olympian chapters 1-23.

remember when percabeth was good? when they meant the world to each other but had other people they cared about (nico, for one. both of them. so much), other worries and other storylines aside from their romantic plot? and when nico's completed arc wasn't repeated for no reason other than to dump more trauma on the youngest character in the series? when background characters were included in the story not for all the unnecessary last minute romantic subplots but because they were fun and fascinating to learn more about? and were actually friends with main characters? remember when grover was percy and annabeth's best friend forever? and antagonists were actually interesting and intimidating and had compelling goals? and the story revolved around friendship and family and loyalty? and death was definite and loss was palpable and battles were thrilling?

yeah. good times.

I'm absolutely blown away with how Tactical Breach Wizards is depicting its theocracy and the revolution against it. Powerfully human, thoughtfully nuanced, and with a real clarity of vision in the way we mostly get into the guts of it through the eyes of the most spiritual character in the cast.

This might well be my favourite depiction of religion in a secondary-world setting; it's definitely in the conversation.

the apollo cabin always gives free pads and tampons to whoever needs them. no matter the day. no matter the hour

percy recalls sally once told him exercise and movement helps w cramps, so whenever annabeth's on her period and they go to swim in the ocean, he makes calm waves just trying to soothe the pain

when piper's on her period leo makes a cup of infusion tea for her he learnt from his momma

thalia rarely visits camp but jason still keeps a kit of pads and tampons for her in their cabin's bathroom, just in case

will asked lou ellen from the hecate cabin to teach him some herbal infusions for his patients' and sisters' period cramps

he came back w plenty recipes of infusions after spending evenings w her

hazel, being freshly out from the 40's, was horrified when she first got hers

she woke up in a stain of blood on her pajamas and sheets in the middle of the night

nico got woken up by the muffled sound of his sis crying while aggressively cleaning her sheets

"...hazel?" "gods, nico! u scared me!" "why are u crying?"

when he tried to get close she rapidly covered the spot on the sheet w a pillow, and what was going on dawned on him

nico knocked on to the apollo cabin's door at 2am

a sleepy will opens up

"she got hers?" "yeah" "let me get u some"

nico comes back to cabin 13 w a little kit of pads w cute lilac flower design in his hands

he calmly got closer to her, hugged her and kissed her forehead

"i'm so sorry" "you've got nothing to be sorry about"

the next morning annabeth and piper calmly explained everything to her. warm hugs and cheek kisses included

no more disgust, no more discomfort, no more shame

the first time nico finally saw a pack of pads unapologetically just existing on hazel's night stand, he smiled

and left a little chocolate bar on her pillow

still that never stopped him from lending her a sweater to cover the back of her stained jeans when she needed it

leo knows piper has a irregular cycle so he always carries a bunch of tampons for piper in his bag whenever they go on long quests

he made a pair for annabeth w little dagger designs on them

and then left a bunch in the apollo cabin, so there's a lovely bunch of handmade washable pads in the period kit for anyone to claim
