Everyone wants Lorgar carnally until he says grace before giving head. Or when he recites verses that describe the world’s beauty while he gently caresses your body. Or when you’re having sex and he starts whimpering prayers upon prayers about how wonderful you are, how much he loves you, how he wants you so badly, how he’s utterly yours (he’s not even doing it deliberately, it’s like singing your praises is second nature to him). Or after you’ve finished, when he lies down on your bed and looks at you with complete and total reverence. You can see that in this moment, to him, you are the only thing that’s real. The lamp on his desk is illuminating you like a halo, or maybe it’s not even the lamp at all, maybe it’s just you. Lorgar wouldn’t even question it if that was the case, because who is he to question what true holiness is?
In his gaze there’s more than just a lovers adoration. To him you’re not a mere mortal. He looks at you as if you’re the sun itself, like you could fly up to the very heavens and rip the stars from their foundations. His trust placed in you so wholeheartedly that if you decided to smite him for the simple crime of existing, he would let you, he would even thank you for it.
But you love him far too much to even think those thoughts. You cup the side of his face and feel as he leans into your touch. You don’t know it, but if in this very moment you told him to renounce his faith, renounce his loyalty to the emperor, and worship you and only you. He would, without a doubt, say yes.
… Well. I think I might’ve gotten a little too carried away here lmao

The desert becomes so cold at night, the sand sometimes freezes with little sparkles of dew, reminding you of the snow of your distant home planet.
But despite the frigid air of a Colchis drowned in dark you couldn't feel hotter, skin aglow with the sheen of sweat- lips parted in a pant.
"Lorgar, Lorgar..."
Sometimes his name leaves your mouth as a whisper, sometimes a yell, but it seems as if he can hear neither. It's like he's in a trance, head between your legs for what's felt like and more than likely has been hours.
Your thighs are covered in lovebites, little scratches, redness where he's gripped too tight in his enthusiasm and you've had to pry at his hands and plead for him to stay gentle with you, remind him that you're fragile, as his eyes look at you with reverence.
Sometimes the way he looks at you is almost too much; Too much like worship, the way he lowers himself to press his head between your thighs and whisper so many sweet nothings. So much of it is incomprehensible, speaking in tongues as he presses you into the massive ocean of a bed meant for someone far larger.
You’ve never felt as bared as you have in these moments, like he’s taking every bit of you and some from somewhere beyond.
“By the gods, you look so beautiful… No art, writing or tapestry could ever hold a candle to you like this…”
He could do this for hours, sometimes he has, and while you know he has to in order to prepare you for what’s to come, he takes more than plenty of pleasure in it.
His creation didn’t consider something as frivolous of this; His body wasn’t meant for yours. But you’ve made it work nonetheless, forced it to.
He hears your pitiful whine and hoarse cry as you come against his mouth, desperately grabbing at his hand smothering your stomach and keeping you pressed down in place. He whispers and praises like you’re singing a song just for him, music to his ears.
You could stop here and be satisfied, more than so, but you know that he has so much more he wishes to give you. These moments are rare, but when you manage to steal them he indulges in you until the sun rises and you’re begging for rest. At least a days worth, usually no one sees much of you for a few days after such an evening.
His mouth pulls away from you, his body rises to hover over yours and the difference in your bodies has you swallowed in his shadow, though he only sees you surrounded in light. Your skin glows, lips parted and seemingly beckoning him in.
There’s been nothing more beautiful to him in his life than you, in this moment.
He doesn’t know why he resisted this for so long, though perhaps he should’ve, because now there’s nothing in the galaxy he wants more.
“My love, my little goddess, please, let me…”
You grit your teeth as he presses his way inside of you, a balance teetering just before true pain as you feel the threat of his body weight against your hips and thighs. There isn't much space for your legs to go, they can't truly part wide enough for someone as massive as Lorgar, and so they press into your stomach like he's going to fold you in half.
Throughout it all he speaks as if you’re his gift, as if you’re a beautiful star made manifest.
His whispers his prayers his pleading becomes more desperate until he finishes inside of you, feeling his hot skin against your own.
When his body lays beside yours, he’s looks upon your tired form with reverence. With the same shine in his eyes when he reads his gospel or writes a verse. You wonder if one day it will ever become too much, or if you’ll come crashing down from the pedestal he’s put you on.
“I love you, my dear. More than any other man that has spoken those words. I will pluck any star you desire out of the sky, conquer any planet, or bring anyone to heel just for you.”
You might wish to tell him not to, but the words don’t leave your lips. He kisses you, takes those words from you and leaves you breathless as his hand cups your jaw, and he begins to pray to you once more.

LotR Week - Day 1 (16th Sep)
The Road Goes Ever On — @lotrweek
Tumblr media
Cobble and rubble, mountainside and valley, Ever crackling or sighing underfoot, Twinkling river or shade in the alley, Always far too much to witness to stay put. Emerald oceans of trees along the glen, Rolling forests of froth upon the water, Sun's fiery kisses on the skin and then Sweet relief of Rain like ink upon blotter.
As songs and tales of yore us so often told Through flowery verses or rather stern prose, Home is not where to find such treasures untold. Adventure calls not to whom renounce meadows For the feathery caress of a warm quilt; It comes to those who fear not the looming dark And would embark on a journey rid of guilt, Forsaking a soft mattress for a tree bark. It is for whom minds neither ache in the legs Nor the constant perspiration on their brow; With many fruitful dreams now hatched from their eggs To dread and despair unwilling to bow.
Naturally, there are those who'd rather have stayed, Coddled by a home and life so familiar, Never fathoming to touch the glowing blade Garden and hearth to their life as sole pillar. Tears, despite being dried, linger on their cheeks, Wounds once healed open anew, excruciate, The mind retains the lava and forgets the creeks, Agony and sorrow as its only fate.
For the worthy ones whose bones deserve to rest, Whose souls precious respite so direly crave, There is one silver ship bound to take them West, And the glorious way to a new journey pave.

No pressure to answer ofc but do you have any advice for others struggling to stop watching porn?
Hello 🩷 thank you for asking. I hope my answer and experience can be useful for you
I had to pray about it a lot. Every day. It’s absolutely everywhere on the Internet and in media too, so in the beginning, the temptations were extremely strong.
Eventually as I started to read the Bible and pray more often, ideas would pop into my head. Like locking down my devices. I set up a DNS (nextdns.io) on my phone and computer to block pornographic websites. (It’s free and easier than you might think! If you find this is something you’d like to try, you can message me and I’ll help you set it up) Then I locked down YouTube as much as I could by putting it in restricted mode. I did this with other platforms that allowed restricted mode. I also blocked keywords on X and any other platform that allows it. Tumblr allows you to block keywords too.
This cleaned up my experience a lot but things still get through. Locking down my devices helped a lot with being exposed to this content in the beginning. I also try to be discerning when it comes to watching media. If there’s something I really want to watch but it has lustful content in it, I’ll fast forward past those parts. It’s not easy at first but it gets easier and easier as time goes on
It’s been about a year and a half since I renounced porn. I’ve relapsed three times but only for one session each time. What’s been most useful to me is staying in constant communication with God, asking Him to relieve me from this addiction, and reading the Bible
Try googling “scripture for addiction” and see what you find. You might be comforted by some of the verses you find
It was also relevant for me to ask myself what I’m running from that I’m using porn as a crutch. I have CPTSD which explains why I’m always trying to self pleasure. Being aware of what motivates you to watch can help you find solutions
Finally, the more you resist temptations, the less strong they will become. Eventually, you’ll have a temptation and almost laugh at it. Because the temptation goes from screaming into your head at all times to a mere insect bite with time.
Going to pray for you, anon. With God, anything is possible. He’s watching over you right now and He’s ready and waiting to lift you out of that dark hole that is pornography. God bless your wonderful soul. I hope this was useful in some way to you 🫂🩷

overall thoughts on tdp??? Now that you’re done watching, which season/story-line/character (besides our iconic queen General and Aunt Amaya 👑) was your fave? Any moments throughout that you really felt or really spoke to you?
The dynamic of characters in this show is so interesting. The theme throughout the whole show is something that resonates with me because it's how I live my life. Despite what you hear about a certain group of people you should have an open mind. This is just some of my thoughts and opinions on some of the characters. There might be spoilers so read at your own risk.
I love Seasons 1-3 and if it wasn’t for the wedding preparations and scenes with Amaya. I wouldn’t have watched season 4. I felt like the whole season was complete filler. The series could’ve ended at the 3rd season and be solid. Season 4 didn’t really get my attention compared to the previous seasons. I hope the story picks up in season 5. I just need more Amaya 😭 lol
Tumblr media
Callum starting as a kid who doesn't know where he belongs because he isn't a fighter or have anything useful to help the kingdom. He is the stepson of the king. Turns out he is a mage and he instantly knows that he wants to be a good light mage and nothing like what his former crush, Claudia is. Speaks on his character and reminds me a lot of his mom.
Tumblr media
Ezran, such a baby doll, is quirky and awkward. Has a difficulty talking to people and has a special connection with animals. He has a kind heart and sees the good in people. He doesn't allow outside comments deter his judgement on a person. He reminds me so much of Antonio from Encanto. He is a fave for sure. He is a type of King that I would love to see in the real world. One that rules with kind and compassion instead with a drive for power or holier than thou.
Tumblr media
Rayla being a moonshadow assassin. While Rayla claims to despise humans, on the inside she doesn't truly hate them. She doesn't see them as lesser beings than herself, unlike the rest of the elves. It causes this inner turmoil on her belief as a moon shadow assassin verses her morals. She constantly checking her morals and doing better. Willing to put her life on the line to do the right thing.
Tumblr media
Claudia, her development was scary, I know there's some good but she continues down this dark path, that its sad. I was so hoping that she would run away with Soren. I really hope there is some way she can redeem herself in the upcoming season but I feel like she's so far down the rabbit hole that it's too deep a hole for her to come out of. The reason why I say Claudia's development is scary s because she knows she is becoming darker. Each season she is at a point where she pushes that morality further. She crosses that limit and instead of realizing ok that's enough. She knows it's bad and accepts it with no regret. Only to surpass it again the next time. There is nothing that will stop her to get what she wants.
Tumblr media
Soren, at first I didn't care about him because he was this jerk who constantly picked on Callum, but Soren definitely grew. The first season I feel like the creators wanted us to see Soren as this idiot jock that heavily relies on his physical strength. It also didn't help that Viren and Claudia also treated him as such. As the series goes on he is so much more than that. His development throughout the series is one of the best, imo. He has this emotional intelligence that came to a surprise. He does have silly moments where he acts first but then he realizes his mistakes and changes. When Soren realized how he was manipulated by his dad. He went against his dad. This is so hard to do. He loves his dad and his sister so for him to renounce his loyalty from his family and follow the crown. Then on top of that having to go to war and the person you're fighting is your own father and sister. That hits the heart in more ways than one. His redemption arc is honestly chef's kiss. Soren is a good boi.
Tumblr media
Amaya, my my my Amaya. She is wife. Once she appeared on the screen I had heart eyes immediately. Like I was already shopping for rings! I think I have a thing for strong stoic types who are really big softies. She's both an immovable object and an unstoppable force in battle. Amaya is thoughtful, honorable, compassionate and smart. Brutal, driven and capable. Pragmatic and adaptable. Her character design and fight choreography is stylish af. I could watch her fight it's like watching a dance. Her shield is honestly really cool and interesting design. Even though she's a tough person that flips switches so fast once she's with her nephews. She turns into this big softy that is so adorable and honestly is why I fell hard for her. She has a heart of gold and isn't afraid to jump into the line of fire to protect the people she loves. Her nephews, Gren, Janai, her soldiers, her kingdom. I could go on about Amaya.
Tumblr media
Bait, Bait is the best. I can't get over him. He has a range of emotions and is the bestest boi. He deserves all the tarts.
Bonus:
I can't get over the fact that Amaya threw Bait in a perfect spiral throw. Bait is beauty. Bait is grace.

hello, can you tel me about “Source; it came to me in a dream”?
A few months ago I had a dream where instead of taking the ring to Mordor, Frodo and the Ring stayed in Rivendell, which went about as well as could be expected. Sauron's forces laid siege to the valley. During a heavy bout of fighting, the defenses of Rivendell are broken. Frodo grabs the ring, intending to run away and it slips on. Instead of turning invisible, he is sucked into the ring and comes face to face with Sauron himself (I tried to put this under a readmore but tumblr was being stupid)
“Well, aren’t you a curious little thing?” a voice, as smooth and deadly as poison, purred.  Frodo scrambled to his feet and turned towards the speaker. He was lounging in Elrond’s chair, red hair spilling out from under a rusted iron crown. He wore robes that were once white, but the hems and sleeves had been stained black with ash. One eye burned like fire, but the other was nothing more than an empty socket with cracks spreading out from the wound. Despite all this, he was still beautiful, fair in a dreadful way.  He stood and stretched, lazily making his way to the pedestal in the center of the ruined courtyard. “I suppose I should thank you,” he said. “Because of you, I will be able to reclaim what is rightfully mine.” He reached out towards the pedestal where the Ring lay. “No!” Frodo yelled.  Sauron smiled. “It’s a bit late for that.” He lunged for the Ring. Sparks flashed against his fingertips and he yanked back his hand. He looked down at the burned flesh, then to the Ring, and finally at Frodo. “Interesting.” “You cannot have it,” Frodo said, stepping closer to the Ring.  “Are you going to claim it then?” Sauron asked as if he had no interest in the answer. Frodo looked at the Ring, then at Sauron. “Go. Leave us, and never come back.” He spoke with a strength he did not feel, and a strength Sauron clearly did not believe. “Very well,” Sauron said. “I will leave. When I get my Ring back. You have no claim to it.” “I inherited it from my uncle. It came to me by right,” Frodo said. He may be terrified, but he was also a hobbit, and hobbits were annoyingly thorough when it came to legal matters such as inheritance. Sauron laughed. “Oh, this is rich. A masterwork into which the crafter has poured his very fëa is stolen, and then is passed on to a thief’s heir. Then, when the proper owner of the piece comes to reclaim their stolen property, they are told they have no right to it, because thievery and inheritance trump everything else. Eru does have a sense of irony after all.”  “You cannot have the Ring,” Frodo repeated. “Oh, but I will have it. It’s just a matter of time. You will die, likely very soon, and that barrier will fall. I’m in no rush, I can wait.” He settled back into Elrond's chair. “But you? Each moment we are in here is bought with your allies’ lives. Spend them frivolously, I don’t care, but I’m sure you do. Creatures of the light are always so…sentimental. Of course, you could save them. Renounce your claim, lower the barrier, and once the rIng is mine, I’ll leave. You have my word.” Frodo shook his head. “You will leave today and return with a greater force tomorrow. I cannot let you have the Ring.” “Then it seems we are at an impasse,” Sauron said. He leaned forward, resting his chin on his interlaced fingers. “Shall we play a game? The winner gets the Ring, and the loser leaves.” “A game?” Frodo said. He thought of Bilbo, his heart aching to think he would likely never see his beloved uncle again. “How about a game of riddles?” “Riddles?” Sauron asked with a grin. He looked around at the living shadows. “In the dark? I was thinking of something a little older. Do you know where your riddle game came from? It used to be a challenge of songs. Trading verse and weaving words until the mightier singer stood victorious. But time passed, as it is want to do, and the songs devolved into riddles. What once was a true contest of wills became a children’s game.”  “You would have us sing at each other?” Frodo asked. Sauron nodded. “Indeed. A proper challenge, worthy of such high stakes. I’ll even be a good sport and let you go first.”

THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO: INFO (Redux)
Tumblr media
OVERVIEW
NAME: the count of monte cristo ALIAS(s): many. so damn many AGE: varies on verse. BIRTH: 1796 ORIGIN: france CLASS: avenger EYES: goldenrod HAIR: white HEIGHT: 6'½" (185cm) ALIGN: Chaotic Neutral ENNEAGRAM: 8w7 MBTI: ENTJ-A
STORY
From the life of a simple sailor, to the ungodly nightmare of being framed for a crime he did not commit, Edmond Dantes was torn away from the woman he loved and imprisoned with the hellish Chateau d'If for fourteen years. Many of those years were nothing but pure torment, both physically and mentally, but with a mind of steel, Edmond avoided falling into despair, and at some point, he would encounter a fellow prisoner by the name of Abbé Faria, who would come to be a mentor of sorts, and a father figure.
For seven years, Abbé Faria educated Edmond, teaching him everything he knew, from the various facets of scholarship, to swordsmanship, and in return, Edmond assisted Abbé in digging an escape tunnel out of Chateau d'If. Abbé Faria would die before the tunnels completion, but before his soul departed, Abbé revealed to Edmond the location of a great treasure– the treasure of Monte Cristo– which he would claim after his eventual escape from Chateau d'If.
With a near unparalleled intellect, a masterful skill for swordplay, riches beyond imagining, and a powerful relic being merged with his soul, Edmond assumed the moniker of ’the Count of Monte Cristo’ and, after a small quest to avenge Abbe Faria, he began a grand plot of revenge against those who had deceived him in the past. One by one, those responsible for Edmond’s imprisonment would be brought down, each of them meeting rather fitting ends at the hands of the man they had wronged.
When all was said and done, The Count came to feel regret and anguish for his blind pursuit of revenge, becoming reformed as a result, and later, he would leave France, departing to an unknown location, where he lived out the rest of his life in relative peace.
Alas, The Count that would later ascend to the Throne of Heroes would not harbor that aforementioned regret or anguish, nor would they be “reformed”– within their heart, vengeance and all of it’s dark, blood stained halls still called to them.
PERSONALITY
At the end of their story, Edmond Dantes renounced their vengeful, bitter ways, but this man is not that ’Edmond Dantes’, they are a different person, or rather, they are the manifestation of that mans vengeful ‘Count of Monte Cristo’ persona. A product of cruelty and betrayal,The Count is manipulative, cunning, prideful, sardonic, and prone to violence as well as bitterness, with a dark flair for the dramatic to boot.
The Count loathes the many evils present throughout the world, and loathes even more those who embody and/or perpetuate those evils to the detriment of humanity. The Count seeks to exterminate evil and it’s agents entirely, to wreak vengeance upon them on behalf of humanity for the many atrocities that plague the world and it’s innocent people. However, the stance The Count takes against those atrocities and the evils that fuel them does not make him a quote “good” person, as he sometimes becomes too zealous in pursuing their destruction, in which he occasionally commits the most extreme acts that no relatively “good" person would ever do. In particularly troublesome cases, The Count’s fervor for the vengeance he seeks will outright blind him to the truth of a matter, making his actions all the more deplorable.
The Count does not present or think of himself as a “good” person either, he thinks of himself as necessary evil or monster, as a destructive force of nature that can birth peace, justice, and tranquility from the ashes left in its wake– a necessary evil and destructive force that will one day have to be destroyed, too. That being said, despite some of his more negative actions and his personal views of himself, The Count’s heart is technically in the right place– he wants to see the good parts of humanity ultimately thrive and evildoers suffer for the trouble they have wrought on the world, he is just too bitter and violent for his own good.
The Count’s negative tendencies and/or qualities are not the whole of his being, though. For all of his moments of bitterness, and the violence he is oft prone too, The Count can be well-mannered, dutiful, charming and humorous (in his own way) depending on who he is interacting with, and beyond that, he does have a softer side locked deep inside him, a side that one can catch glimpses of if they somehow manage to grow close enough with him. Those who manage to bring this softer side of The Count out are undoubtedly important to him, even if he may claim otherwise at times, and for these individuals, he will cherish them deeply, and strive to safeguard them from harm.
PARAMETERS/SKILLS
STR: B END: A+ AGI: C MAG: B NP: A AVENGER: A WISDOM OF PREDICAMENT: A OBLIVION CORRECTION: B SELF REPLENISHMENT: C DETERMINATION OF STEEL: EX GOLDEN RULE: A+
SKILLS (in depth)
Avenger: Avengers are fueled by murderous hatred and rage, and their Avenger skill measures their ability to accumulate hatred within others, hatred which they can then leech off of and use to empower themselves. In The Count’s case, at a ranking of A, he is extremely proficient in leeching off the hatred and grudges he detects within and/or elicits from his opponents souls, making it far easier for him to translate those negative emotions into power, in the form of improved parameters.
The exact amount of power The Count can gain from this varies, but it generally translates out to a temporary ++ or +++ modifier to his STR, END, and Noble Phantasms (excluding Wait and Hope). This skill also allows The Count to receive a healthy boost to mana regeneration every time he takes damage, and at a ranking of A, this boost is usually astounding.
Oblivion/Memory Correction: a Class Skill of the Avenger class. It represents the Avenger in question’s tenacity for holding grudges, and remembering the wrongs done to them, or others. The higher one’s ranking in this skill, the more critical damage they deal in battle. At A ranking, The Count deals great critical damage.
Self Replenishment - Mana: The final class skill for those of the Avenger class, it allows an Avenger to constantly generate magical energy until their hatred and vengeance is, in their minds, accomplished. The amount generated is usually minuscule, but at The Count’s ranking of C, this magical energy is enough to allow The Count to stay materialized without a master, and when balanced with a healthy helping of human souls, The Count could theoretically operate in a Holy Grail war on their own. With a master behind them, though, this extra magical energy still comes in handy.
Determination of Steel: A personal skill of The Count’s, it is the dynamism and mind of steel of the man who walked on the path of revenge throughout his entire life after breaking out of the Château d’If prison, which was even called the Hell on this Earth. This skill results in The Count being able to block out all instances of pain, allowing him to fight on unperturbed by grievous wounds and damage in general. It is, however, also a representation of his mental fortitude as well, possessing determination of unbreakable steel– as in, when The Count sets his sights on a goal, nothing, and no one, will dissuade him from pursuing it.
Even if the odds are against him 100 to 1, The Count will not be deterred. This skill does not guarantee The Count will succeed in the goals they pursue, but it greatly increases their chances of doing so (especially when his Wisdom of Predicaments skill bestows him with generous luck), and always leaves open the possibility of him succeeding no matter what the situation– which means that at times, he can defy destiny and fate themselves, just as he had in his story.
Golden Rule: A personal skill, this is the representation of the wealth The Count possessed in life. The Count’s wealth was said to have been “beyond imagining”, and indeed, just as Abbe Faria had told him, money never became a consequence for The Count after they received the Treasure’s they did on the Island of Monte Cristo. As a servant, The Count has access to this wealth, which can be a great boon to his master.
Wisdom of Predicaments: The last personal skill of The Count’s, it allows The Count to “ call upon Luck with a precedence in critical situations”.  It is the wisdom brought about by the abundant knowledge he received from Abbe Faria and his own natural intelligence. This skill, as you can imagine, comes in handy, seeing as The Count possesses no Luck parameter, though it goes beyond just helping The Count out in tight situations– thanks to the special combination of this skill and his Avenger class, this skill also allows The Count to use the Item Creation skill at (which is usually only reserved to the Caster Class) at Rank B.
The only caveat is that the Luck bestowed upon The Count from this skill can vary– usually he will pull the effects of Luck that are equivalent to a B ranking, and on very, very rare occasions, A+ ranking.
NOBLE PHANTASMS
Monte Cristo Mythologie | Anti-Unit ( C )
This is The Count of Monte Cristo’s way of life– acting as the incarnation of revenge– which has been sublimated into a Noble Phantasm through his manifestation as an Avenger. As he did not fit under any other sort of class, his body that manifested as Avenger was converted into a Noble Phantasm.
It allows Avenger a number of effects– immunity to poisons and mental interference, resistance to magical attacks, the ability to conceal and/or falsify his class and parameters in the eyes of others, the unleashing of pent up hatred and grudges in the minds and souls of his opponents upon speaking the noble phantasms true name– but the most notable ability it grants him are the flames of hatred.
By projecting his hatred into magical power, Avenger can generate a poisonous black flame that he can use to harm his foes, and protect himself. Whether it is launched at enemies from a distance or delivered to them in melee, this flame damages Avenger’s opponents directly, ignoring armours, magical resistances, and even magical barriers, shattering them with ease.
It is even possible for those subjected to this black flame to have their very souls burned away, even if they are immortal beings, as was the case with Michael Roa Valdamjong.
This Noble Phantasm is related to the Treasure of Monte Cristo, which housed fourteen artifacts, one of which was a Treasure of Darkness, a treasure that held the power to remake a person. This ’Treasure of Darkness’ was a legend (Divine Construct) hidden in the mountain of Christ that represented the despair of those without God, the flames of hell, and the void. It bestowed a power equal to that from the Age of Gods that forced a special Magic Circuit and Magic Crest into the user, forever joining the two, until death.
Attendre, Espérer: Wait, and Hope | Anti-Unit (B)
An unbelievable recovery Noble Phantasm that is capable of bringing Avenger or an ally back from the clutches of death (completely healing them), while also conferring it’s targets with a temporary boost to their parameters, skills, and noble phantasms. The boost itself gives its targets respective skills, parameters, and noble phantasms an increase of one rank, which lasts for roughly one hour.
It is the ray of brilliant, shining hope amid the darkness of one who has fallen into tragedy, despair, and regret, being activated when Avenger speaks the words: “Wait, and Hope.”
Enfer Château d'If (Hell Château d'If): Tyger, Burning Bright | Anti-Army/Anti-Unit (A)
The steeled, unworldly mental power of Edmond Dantès, cultivated while imprisoned within the Château d'If, sublimated into a Noble Phantasm. With this noble phantasm, The Count is able to perform super high speed thinking, which he can also reflect upon his body, allowing him to achieve feats of agility/speed that are immense even by servant standards– this however, is only a passive effect of the noble phantasm.
When the words, “I don’t need any mercy– My path goes beyond love and hate! Enfer Château d'If! are chanted, this noble phantasm’s true potential is activated, making The Count’s movements become so fast that he is able to escape from the prisons of time and space themselves– though any prison, abstract or not, would likely be unable to hold him.
While acting outside of time and space, time appears to effectively freeze for anyone but The Count, and as he moves at incomprehensible speeds, many “afterimages” of The Count will appear, those of which can and will harm his targets as they attack along with him simultaneously. After The Count’s (and his afterimages) initial black-flame laden strikes are dealt, he will levitate into the air and unleash a mighty blast of black flames upon his targets– the blast would do great damage on its own, but with all of The Count’s afterimages copying this attack, the combined blast is immense, and will likely kill anything it hits (if said targets weren't already wiped out by The Count’s initial attacks).
After The Count’s final blast hits his target(s), the speed of his actions return to their usual levels, and for everyone else, time ‘resumes’– though his targets likely drop dead at this point, if they weren't already reduced to ashes. Even if a target somehow isn’t outright killed by The Count’s time-bending, black flame ridden onslaught, their bodies will most likely suffer grave damage, and if they are a servant, it’s highly unlikely that their spirit core isn’t irreparably damaged in some way.
All noble-phantasms can be thought of as ‘trump cards’ in some sense, but Enfer Chateau d'If is truly an embodiment of such a thing, with their being few who can withstand it.

We have chosen some of those messengers above others.[1] Allah spoke directly to some, and raised some high in rank. To Jesus, son of Mary, We gave clear proofs and supported him with the holy spirit.[2] If Allah had willed, succeeding generations would not have fought ˹among themselves˺ after receiving the clear proofs. But they differed—some believed while others disbelieved. Yet if Allah had willed, they would not have fought one another. But Allah does what He wills.
[1] Those messengers mentioned earlier in this sûrah (see verse 136).
[2] i.e., Gabriel.
2:254
O believers! Donate from what We have provided for you before the arrival of a Day when there will be no bargaining,[1] friendship,[2] or intercession. Those who disbelieve are ˹truly˺ the wrongdoers.
[1] This implies ransoming one’s self.
[2] i.e., friendly connections.
2:255
Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge—except what He wills ˹to reveal˺. His Seat[1] encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest.[2]
[1] The Arabic word kursi can either mean seat or knowledge. There are some narrations attributed to Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) that describe Allah’s Throne (’Arsh) as being greater than His Kursi.
[2] According to Muslim belief, this is the greatest verse in the Quran.
2:256
Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood.[1] So whoever renounces false gods and believes in Allah has certainly grasped the firmest, unfailing hand-hold. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
[1] This verse was revealed when some new Muslims tried to force their Jewish and Christian children to convert to Islam after the Prophet’s emigration (Hijrah) to Medina. The verse prohibits forced conversion.
2:257
Allah is the Guardian of the believers—He brings them out of darkness and into light. As for the disbelievers, their guardians are false gods who lead them out of light and into darkness. It is they who will be the residents of the Fire. They will be there forever.
2:258
Are you ˹O Prophet˺ not aware of the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord because Allah had granted him kingship? ˹Remember˺ when Abraham said, “My Lord is the One Who has power to give life and cause death.” He argued, “I too have the power to give life and cause death.” Abraham challenged ˹him˺, “Allah causes the sun to rise from the east. So make it rise from the west.” And so the disbeliever was dumbstruck. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
2:259
Or ˹are you not aware of˺ the one who passed by a city which was in ruins. He wondered, “How could Allah bring this back to life after its destruction?” So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years then brought him back to life. Allah asked, “How long have you remained ˹in this state˺?” He replied, “Perhaps a day or part of a day.” Allah said, “No! You have remained here for a hundred years! Just look at your food and drink—they have not spoiled. ˹But now˺ look at ˹the remains of˺ your donkey! And ˹so˺ We have made you into a sign for humanity. And look at the bones ˹of the donkey˺, how We bring them together then clothe them with flesh!”[1] When this was made clear to him, he declared, “˹Now˺ I know that Allah is Most Capable of everything.”
[1] Bringing the donkey back to life.
2:260
And ˹remember˺ when Abraham said, “My Lord! Show me how you give life to the dead.” Allah responded, “Do you not believe?” Abraham replied, “Yes I do, but just so my heart can be reassured.” Allah said, “Then bring four birds, train them to come to you, ˹then cut them into pieces,˺ and scatter them on different hilltops. Then call them back, they will fly to you in haste. And ˹so you will˺ know that Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.”

Joyce Meyer Devotional For Today 22nd November 2023 – Be Thankful—Always.
Tumblr media
TOPIC: Be Thankful—Always. SCRIPTURE:  — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (AMPC) Thank in everything , for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus .
JOYCE MEYER MESSAGE FOR TODAY 22ND NOVEMBER 2023.
Someone once told me there are more exhortations in the Bible to praise God than there are of any other kind. I don’t know if that’s true, but it ought to be. When our minds flow with thanksgiving and praise, we develop immunity to the devil’s infectious ways. If we complain or grumble, the opposite is true. The more we complain, the worse life gets, the more victorious the devil becomes, and the more defeated we feel. If we are going to live in victory, praise has to be one of our major weapons. A wise pastor once told me, “Praise fills the heaven and the earth with God’s presence and drives away the darkness. So if you want to live in the sunshine, praise the Lord.” When good things happen to us, most of us turn to praise. It’s easy to lift our hands and our voices when God answers our prayers and delivers us from problems. But it’s not always as easy when things go wrong. What do we do when we’re sick or lose our jobs or people talk against us? How do we fill our minds with joyful thanksgiving in those situations? If we read the verse above and add Philippians 4:4: Rejoice in the Lord always ; again I say, Rejoice! we have options. The negative option is to take the attitude of Job’s wife, who was so shaken up by the loss of her children and their possessions that she cried out, Do you still hold fast your blameless uprightness? Renounce God and die! (Job 2:9). Job answered with great wisdom: You speak as one of the impious and foolish women would speak. What? Shall we accept good at the hand of God and shall we not accept misfortune and what is of a bad nature? (v. 10). Job understood that a righteous life doesn’t mean that everything always runs smoothly and that only blessings will ever fall on top of blessings. We have two positive options open to us, and most of us can practice the first, but not all of us can accept the second. The first is to praise God in spite of what’s going on in our lives. Or another way to say that is in the midst of our troubles and hardships, we can rejoice over the things that are not wrong in our lives. It may take effort, but if we can turn our eyes away from the immediate problems, we can see that everything in life isn’t bad. We also can rejoice because God has faithfully taken us through the turmoil of the past, and we can rejoice and know that He’ll do the same thing again. The second option is to ask, “God, what can I learn from this? What do You want to teach me through this so that I may be closer to You and rejoice more fully in Your goodness?” That’s not an easy question, and the answers are often even harder. Sometimes we only grasp the important lessons in our lives when we fall flat on our faces. It’s as if we’re running as fast as we can and God trips us. The psalmist says: Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now Your word do I keep  (Psalm 119:67 AMPC). It’s not that God is out to hurt us, but God loves us enough to stop us, to give us the opportunity to change our ways, and to follow Him. Throughout my many years in ministry, I’ve heard stories from people who had wonderful jobs or great ministries or made a great deal of money—and then their lives fell apart. One man—someone who had once been a millionaire—came to our meetings after he had spent three years in prison. The first words that came out of his mouth were, “I’m glad I was convicted and sent to prison. I had run from God for a long time. The Lord finally got my attention when someone gave me a copy of Joyce Meyer’s book Healing the Brokenhearted.” Not everyone can rejoice and give thanks for their suffering, but we can all give thanks in the midst of it. Joyce Meyer’s Daily Devotion Prayer Starter 22/11/2023. God, I’m thankful for Your love and Your presence. Forgive me for grumbling when things go wrong and remind me of how many things go right in my life. Enable me to rejoice in You always, amen. Read the full article

Pathological Liars: What does the holy Text say about Pathological liars..
They don't care who they hurt or destroy (2 Peter 2:4-22; Jude 1:10). The doom of liars is spoken of in Revelation 21:8. The liar will forever be separated from a loving and holy God. The liar will have all eternity to regret the deception they refused to renounce as they hear their lies echo in their memory.
2 Peter 2:4-22 New International Version
4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell,[a] putting them in chains of darkness[b] to be held for judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless 8 (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— 9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh[c] and despise authority.
Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings; 11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from[d] the Lord. 12 But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish.
13 They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you.[e] 14 With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood! 15 They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer,[f] who loved the wages of wickedness. 16 But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—an animal without speech—who spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
17 These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. 18 For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,”[g] and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO: INFO
“MY BLACK FLAME ASKS FOR NO SALVATION.”
Tumblr media
                                          OVERVIEW
NAME: the count of monte cristo ALIAS(s): many. AGE: varies on verse.
For all of his moments of bitterness, and the violence he is oft prone too, The Count can be well-mannered, dutiful, charming and humorous (in his own way), and beyond that, he does have a softer side locked deep inside him, a side that one can catch glimpses of if they somehow manage to grow close enough with him. Those who manage to bring this softer side of The Count out are undoubtedly important to him, even if he may claim otherwise at times, and for these individuals, he will cherish them deeply, and strive to safeguard them from harm.
PARAMETERS/SKILLS
STR: B END: A+ AGI: C MAG: B NP: A WISDOM OF PREDICAMENT: A
OBLIV. COR: B S-REPLENISH: C DETER. OF STEEL: EX GOLDEN RULE: A+
SKILLS (in depth)
Avenger: Avengers are fueled by murderous hatred and rage, and their Avenger skill measures their ability to accumulate hatred within others, hatred which they can then leech off of and use to empower themselves. In The Count’s case, at a ranking of A, he is extremely proficient in leeching off the hatred and grudges he elicits from his opponents souls, making it far easier for him to translate those negative emotions into power, in the form of improved parameters– the exact amount of power The Count can gain from this varies, but it generally translates out to a + or ++ modifier to his STR, END, and/or AGI parameters. This skill also allows The Count to recieve a healthy boost to mana regeneration every time he takes damage, and at a ranking of A, this boost is usually astounding.
Even if the odd’s are against him 100 to 1, The Count will not be deterred.
Enfer Château d'If (Hell Château d'If) Anti-Army/Anti-Unit (A)
The steeled, unworldly mental power of Edmond Dantès, cultivated while imprisoned within the Château d'If, sublimated into a Noble Phantasm.
After The Count’s (and his afterimages) initial black-flame laden strikes are dealt, he will levitate into the air and unleash a mighty blast of black flames upon his targets– the blast would do great damage on its own, but with all of The Count’s afterimages copying this attack, the combined blast is immense, and will likely kill anything it hits (if said targets werent already wiped out by The Count’s initial attacks).
After The Count’s final blast hits his target(s), the speed of his actions return to their usual levels, and for everyone else, time ‘resumes’– though his targets likely drop dead at this point, if they werent already reduced to ashes.

◤— FATIGUE caused the BRILLIANCE of his wide grin, in the face of Rey’s joy & the kiss she had bestowed him, to dissipate ; form slumping back towards the grimy surface of the SITH TEMPLE and if not for the STRENGTH of her hold, Ben would have received a rather NASTY smack to the head. His breathing was labored, every inhale & exhale making him wince as a bolt of PAIN coursed through him --- Force Healing was a DANGEROUS ability, sapping the very lifeforce from the one using it and Ben had very nearly ended his own life in his haste to save Rey.
Even if that had been the result of doing such, he would NEVER regret the decision to save her.
She meant EVERYTHING to him, after all.

I really want to know about your magical girl au idea please I’ve admittedly asked multiple times I think but I just love a good magical girl au
IM SORRY I HAVENT RESPONDED TO THOSE it's just a Lot so trying to summarize it is also a Lot plus i wanna find and gather a bunch of my old sketches
some info:
sonic is a teenage track star hedgehog who's a freshman in high school on an island populated mostly by trees and non-sentient animals. he lives with and takes care of his baby brother tails, who is a genius, while still taking him to elementary school / picking him up. tails has his two tails but can't fly, sonic goes fast but only normal fast.
one day, eggman shows up on their island, and one of the chaos emeralds appears to sonic after he hustles a bunch of people to safety, determining that he's pure of heart. he goes thru his first transformation sequence, beats up eggman, gets his actual super speed in his magical boy form. after he's done and de-transforms, the chaos emerald turns into a necklace on twine string with wooden beads, bamboo beads, and a wood setting. looks like this
Tumblr media
all the chaos emeralds are their transformation items, and eggman is after them! they're all controlled by the master emerald, which knuckles is guarding. he's well versed in magical person lore, but isn't one himself.... yet. eggman also wants the master emerald but it's hidden on angel island and he has no idea where angel island is. yet. the master emerald also is the one who actually decides if a hero is pure of heart enough to be a magical person and blesses them with one of the chaos emeralds. which is why eggman wants it so bad
when the chaos emeralds bond with a hero that is pure of heart, they become an accessory that suits them and their true heart. when one of the heroes transforms with their emerald, the emerald disappears as it's temporarily absorbed into their body for power. if you beat a magical person in battle (basically when they are too weak to fight or use their cute magic anymore), their clothes revert into simple white glowing dresses (like precure, also knuckles gets a big glowing poncho instead) and their accessory is back on them, turned into nothing but a thin string of chaos energy with the emerald dangling off of it. you can easily steal a chaos emerald off of someone like this.
more accessory concepts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
eggman already has one chaos emerald, which he has given to still-bent-on-revenge sa2-characterization shadow who is just biding his time as he works for eggman. he doesn't transform with it, he uses it for ~evil~ and only after he remembers his actual promise to maria does he get to transform. he and maria were both magical people until she died while fighting evil, after which he and gerald both renounced magic. shadow was engineered to be the ultimate magical boy to protect maria, which he just resents (before his memories go back to normal).
also rouge and omega work for eggman, they're the recurring bad guys whose monsters they have to fight or whatever before the finale where they all punch eggman into space or something. but they obviously stop working for him way before that happens
order that they turn into magical people: sonic, tails, knuckles (after they go to angel island, knuckles is very honored for the opportunity to actually become what he admires so much), amy (sonic hates that he has to work with amy at first since she's a middle schooler who chases him around trying to get him to date her), silver, blaze (very shortly after silver), shadow
only after all seven chaos emeralds have their heroes and the heroes have all come to work together can you unlock their true power (and your fun little powered up magical person dresses for the finale fight, a MUST-HAVE)
sonic has the dark blue one, tails has the yellow one, knuckles has the green one (the master emerald's baby brother, as sonic called it once), amy has the white one (taken from rouge after she said she didn't even want it for its power and i imagine that in the tv show in my head there's an episode dedicated to the pursuing hullabaloo and amy's transformation at the end), blaze has the purple one, silver has the cyan one, and shadow (of course) has the red one
all of them have like, individual character arcs as well. but this post is mostly chaos emerald magical girl lore SORRY. i like making up chaos emerald magical girl lore its fun. its FUN.

Prompt for renouncement verse. At some point before the Oh my god this is a real marriage moment, when Wei Wuxian realizes Lan Qiren doesn’t see him as a nuisance at best, and a dark spot on Lan Wangji’s sparking reputation at worst. (Or, if you feel so inclined, is forcibly made to realize that Lan Qiren cares about him, since it seems the key to making Wei Wuxian realize these things is through aggressive validation.)
(author’s note: please reblog, since that’s how we get prompts for future chapters!)
In all honesty, Wei Wuxian wasn’t expecting his marriage to be received very well by the Lan sect. He expected that the elders would all be against it, starting with Lan Qiren; but the elders clearly weren’t against it, because they were the ones who wanted him to marry Lan Zhan in the first place.
(He still hasn’t figured out why, of course, but that’s beside the point.)
But in much the same way, Wei Wuxian assumed that the rest of the world wouldn’t care whom he married. He doesn’t have any special privileges or rights as the Chief Cultivator’s spouse, and the title Zewu-jun bestowed upon him is only a formality; all he does in the Cloud Recesses is mind his own business, so why would anyone outside Gusu Lan care about his presence at the conference?
“What does it matter if you’re not doing anything wrong now?” a tall, well-built youth from Baling scoffs. “You’re here, aren’t you? That’s just proof that you--that you seduced his Excellency for your own ends, and now you’re going to take over the sects through him, since you couldn’t do it with your dark cultivation!”
Wei Wuxian hasn’t seduced anyone, since he’s one of the only chaste married men in the world, but he can’t exactly say so to this idiotic young master. “Do your sect leaders know you’re here?” he sighs, too exhausted by the day’s debates to bother arguing. “I can send a butterfly to fetch them, if you’re lost.”
“See that!” someone from the Pingzhou Cheng sect snaps. “He even learned the Jin sect’s messenger butterfly technique! That’s secret knowledge, and--”
“My brother-in-law taught me,” Wei Wuxian says idly, tapping his fingers on Chenqing and grinning when the boys in front of him blanch and take a step backwards. “And Jin Guangyao taught him, sometime after they took their vow of sworn brotherhood. Now, do you mind getting out of my way?”
“You ought to do his Excellency a favor and take yourself out of his way!” one of the youths in the back yells. “Have some shame, Wei Wuxian!”
Wei Wuxian opens his mouth to reply--this time by pretending to call Wen Ning, just to see the boys squirm--but someone else wearing white and blue appears before he can say anything, whipping out a familiar ferule and throwing himself in front of Wei Wuxian.
“For shame!” Lan Qiren barks, cracking his ruler over the boys’ heads until they howl and back away. “What grounds do you have to say so to the Chief Cultivator’s husband, and the father of his children--and what sort of ingrate speaks against another’s marriage, when your own clans were honored at the event as courtesy demanded? Never, in all my days, have I heard such blatant discourtesy--now begone! I will be having words with your sect leaders, make no mistake, and you will be serving punishment for your behavior if you have the face to attend the Lan lectures with your clan in the spring!”
Cowed, the young men bow hurriedly and flee as quickly as they can, holding their bruised heads as they go. Lan Qiren scoffs and tucks his ferule back into his sleeve, and then he takes Wei Wuxian by the sleeve and hauls him back down the corridor towards the banquet hall.
“I’m sorry you had to see that, Shufu,” Wei Wuxian offers, while Lan Qiren’s pale face turns purple with fury. “I didn’t mean to--”
“Sorry, indeed!” Lan Qiren snaps. “If Wangji were to hear of this--well, I will tell him all the same, since you are his husband and under his care, and it is his duty to defend your honor. I am sorry that I had to hear my own family insulted in my presence, but what do you have to be sorry for?”
“They really didn’t say anything about Lan Zhan, though!” he protests. “They just said they he was, um, fooled into marrying me, and it’s a reasonable thing to believe when Lan Zhan is so good, and I’m...”
“You are good for Wangji,” his uncle-in-law scolds, in no uncertain terms. “You are a good senior to the little ones, and an excellent father to A-Yuan and Xiao-Yu, and your presence in the Cloud Recesses has cheered Wangji up immensely, not to mention Xichen. I do not wish to see you tolerating such disrespect again, Wei Ying. Is that clear?”
Winded, Wei Wuxian nods and almost trips over the high threshold to the banquet hall. “Clear as day, uncle! This discip--nephew will reflect, and endeavour to handle the situation more prudently next time.”
“See that you do,” Lan Qiren sniffs. “Now, go back to Wangji, and don’t wander away again. And for heaven’s sake eat something, you're as pale as a sheet.”
And with that, he sweeps away towards the Lan side of the feasting chamber, leaving Wei Wuxian to gather up his glittering skirts and return to his husband’s side.
“Xingan,” Lan Zhan says anxiously, taking Wei Wuxian’s hands and guiding him down onto the gilded seat at his right. “Where did you go? I only turned around for a moment, and then--”
“Xiang-gong,” Wei Wuxian returns (because he does like to make Lan Zhan smile, even if they don’t have that sort of marriage, and he’s allowed to like it.) “I’m sorry, Lan Zhan. I got distracted.”
“Do not leave my side again,” Lan Zhan scolds. “Here, take some of the noodles.”
He picks up a few spicy noodles with his chopsticks, and holds them to Wei Wuxian’s mouth in front of everyone: not even bothering to hide his hands with his sleeve, like he does whenever he eats, as if everyone was supposed to see this!
“Shameless!” Wei Wuxian whispers, as he takes the mouthful. “Lan Zhan!”
“My sweet husband,” Lan Zhan whispers back. “Eat.”
Wei Wuxian nearly blushes himself to death on the spot.
(But that’s been a regular feature of his marriage so far, so he survives. Unfortunately.)

Sri Sadhu Om
The state of abiding in the Heart as the Heart as it is (that is, as the adjunctless and thoughtfree existence-consciousness “I am”) is the ineffable and most excellent state. He, who nurtures the fruit of such Self-abidance by sowing the seed of clarity of mind and by watering it with divine Grace, is only our Self-realized or Celestial Preceptor (Sadgurudeva), Sri Ramana. ~ Sadhanai Saram - V.11, by Sri Sadhu Om

14. The Three Desires
39. In Sanskrit, they classify the desire for wife, son and wealth (thara-putra-dhana) as the three desires, whereas in Tamil they classify the desire for land, women and gold (man-pen-pon) as the desires. But on scrutiny, these are found to be not three desires but only two. Let me say what are really the three desires born out of the darkness of ignorance. Listen.
Note: The three desires classified in Sanskrit and the three classified in Tamil can each be reduced to two desires, namely loving relationships (uravu-asai) and material possessions (porul-asai), as explained in the next verse.
40. The desire that we have for wife or women and the desire for son can be taken as one desire, namely the DESIRE FOR RELATIONSHIPS (or uravasai); likewise, the desire for gold, the desire for wealth and the desire for land can be taken as one desire, namely the DESIRE FOR MATERIAL POSSESSIONS (or porulasai). What then is the third of the three desires? It is only the evil DESIRE FOR PRAISE, FAME, HONOR, APPRECIATION or RECOGNITION (or puhazh-asai), which makes one hanker after the proud and vain glory of feeling “I have renounced the desire for all these four – wife, son, land and gold”.
41. The desire for loving relationships (uravasai) the desire for material possessions (porul-asai) and the desire for honor (puhazh-asai) are the unacceptable three desires. More than the first two desires, the third one is very dangerous. KNOW THAT THE NON-RISING OF THE EGO, which rises either with the feeling “I am having this particular desire” or with the feeling “I have renounced this particular desire,” IS ALONE TRUE RENUNCIATION.
42. Even after renouncing, with a little discrimination, love for relationships and love for material possessions, many wise people become a prey to this desire for name and fame, which has the power to destroy their discrimination. Therefore, know that true renunciation is only the state in which the ego- ”I” does not rise, having renounced the liking to enjoy even the honor (puhazh) that results from the renouncing of relatives and possessions.
43. Wise people say that the desire that one should become an object of honor (puhazh) is indeed despicable. Why? The joy which results from that honor is experienced by oneself, is it not? Therefore, even the desire for that honor is only selfishness. Hence, the state that is devoid of the ego, which feels “I” and “me,” is alone the state that is acceptable to Sages.
Note: When the Sage Tiruvalluvar sang, in verse 236 of Tirukkural, “If you take birth, take birth with fame (puhazh); for those without fame, not taking birth is better than taking birth”, he was addressing only those people who desire to take birth in this world, and not spiritual aspirants, who have no desire for taking birth.
44. Those who experience the sufferings that result from desire for relationships and desire for material possessions will finally one day or other become disgusted with these desires and renounce them. But the desire for honor (puhazh) that comes to one is a very treacherous delusion (maya) that is skillful in concealing and not showing the dangerous harm that lies in itself. Therefore, people will find more and more joy in this desire for power and honor (puhazh-asai) and will not shrink from it.
Note: When the mind experiences intense suffering due to the diseases which result from the desire for women or due to the enmity which results from the desire for sons, it will sooner or later automatically gain a liking to renounce them. Similarly, on  account of the endless misery that results from having desire for gold, land and wealth, the mind will sooner or later automatically gain a liking to renounce such possessions. Thus desire for relationships and material possessions (uravasai and porulasai) will one day or other reveal the dangerous harm that lies in themselves. But when desire for honor, name and fame (puhazh) is experienced more and more, it will make the mind feel only a delusion of joy, and hence the dangerous harm that lies hidden in it cannot easily be discerned by the mind. That is why Sri Bhagavan warns us in verse 37 of Supplement to Reality in Forty Verses (Ulladu Narpadu Anubandham),
“Even though all the worlds have been renounced as mere straw, and even though all the scriptures have been mastered, for those who have come under the sway of the wicked harlot called praise, honor, recognition or appreciation, ah, to escape from slavery to her is indeed very difficult!”
45. If a person who thinks, “I, who am exalted in many ways, am a separate individual; my fame (puhazh) is flourishing among many people,” pauses and considers carefully about himself, inquiring “Who am I, this separate individual?” his ego will perish, and thus he will conquer and destroy all desire along with its root.
46. Trying to destroy the three desires while retaining the ego, the feeling “I am this body”, which is the root of all rising, is utter foolishness, just like trying to cross a river riding upon a crocodile as a raft. The destruction of the ego, the original sin, is alone the destruction of the threefold fire of desire. Therefore, in order to destroy all the three desires, the only way is to destroy oneself by inquiring, “Who am I, who have these desires?”
