Question about Frank! What is his fighting style? I know you mentioned he does hand on hand, but does he do any specific form of martial arts?? Or is it just kind of the basic, punching, kicking, ect. Also, does he have some form of magic, or is he basically like Howdy? (I'm just imagining they all play like.. actual table top DnD and Frank is getting irritated because his rolls are garbage-)
i'm not nearly well versed enough in martial arts to name styles or blend them - though i feel a "i need to know everything i can about this" fixation creeping up... so i might be able to provide a better answer later!
but for now lets just say he's adapted his own stylized form, blended from his childhood training, what he learns on the streets, and what he picks up on his travels / figures out himself. i imagine it would be an efficient, ruthless, and elegant personal style of combat
Frank has no magic! if he rolled for it he'd somehow get a 0! he and Howdy are the only magicless maidens of the group
#& man. i really want to make it a dnd au#but i simply dont know enough about dnd to be able to Accurately do that!#and also: i dont like restrictions and rules#but it's so funny to imagine the neighborhood gathered in front of home with sally dm-ing#or home is the dm. how would that work#wally helps i suppose... resets the dice so home can roll it with their front door#but unfortunately my knowledge and understanding is Limited#it would be in the style of the dnd movie - where its seamless & theyre not actually rolling or anything#but i dont know the spells! i dont know the lore! the monsters!#ok unless i do Another sit-down-and-crunch-learn-everything-dnd#....thats doable. if i just learn the creatures the monsters the lore#then homebrew the world and fuck with stuff to make it have wh vibes....#it could be Loosely dnd. loosely tabletop.#then i could tag it with 'wh tabletop au' instead of fantasy au to differentiate it...#no no that still doesnt work. cause if it has secondary lore of 'its literally the neighborhood playing their own version of dnd'#i cant see any of the wally-centered drama happening. theyd all be like 'aw its ok that youre a warlock wally <3' & move on#but i still want to name it something Different! just to keep it separated! rpg? no... its still not a game... and its not dnd enough...#questing au? 'cause they're always on quests? mythical au? adventuring au?#place your votes now folks! the ballots are rolling in!

Ask compilation: DU drow, Orin, Astarion, lore things and little fun facts.
Trying to make a dent in this dang inbox. As always, thank you so much everyone for your patience and curiosity! Sorry that it is straight up no longer possible for me to reply to everyone, but I will keep doing my best within reason. Enjoy!
Absolutely! I had a lot of requests for bottom Astarion on my patreon which is why I was kind of on a roll there for a minute.
Though, for the record - I am really not very invested in strict bedroom roles at all. Or clear and distinct dominant/submissive dynamics. So please don't overthink it whenever there's a switch, no pun intended.
You wanna know how often they smash? Man, I don't know, I guess fairly often considering their lifestyle post-game (very active, often on the road).
Assuming that everyone agrees that sex doesn't have to involve penetration, I'd say once every other day or less, really depends on the circumstances though. DU drow's libido is much higher than Astarion's, but he's not an animal and can hold off fine. Astarion is likely to be pickier in regards to location and how-recently-have-we-bathed status as well.
I keep meaning to draw him, but I have like... A million things I want to do 😂 so its rough!
BUT you will at least continue to see him in ANE! And I'm sure i'm bound to draw him again in the future.
[MORE UNDER THE CUT]
If you mean in his bhaalist "AU", where he has the red robe and the extra scars, I imagine he would have gotten it through killing Isobel.
I think as a changeling she probably has the ability to just... Transform her hair however she likes at will, right? And based on her attitude plus some lines we get from Sceleritas about her own former-butler, it sounds like she would be really opposed to being serviced in that way, to me at least.
I see her as pretty aggressively independent with the way she operates, which is another factor that sets her apart from DU drow, who really enjoyed lording over the other Bhaalists and making an errand boy out of Sceleritas, to the point where he practically depended on their help to function.
Neither! I wasn't willing to let anyone take either of my eyes in my first playthrough, LOL.
I have since always given the Volo eye to SOMEONE, usually Gale, but I don't consider that canonical. I don't think anyone was desperate enough to let mister frumpy-hat over there ice-pick their eyes out.
He did do them himself. It was a profoundly stupid display he got caught up in because of Gortash. Also, de-handment is kind of a theme in his life, at least inside his head.
I have a comic about it planned for the future ;)
What do you mean, that's canonical to the game and everything! He loves the cuck chair!
He is an angsty 29-year old in denial. Your interpretation is still perfectly accurate.
Hates the guy. Hates when Shadowheart Astarion people joke about him being the Drizzt of his generation. Hates the guy like literally any countercultural weirdo hates Taylor Swift or the Weeknd. If he saw him at the line in the grocery store DU drow would find a way to roll his eyes loudly just so he could notice being an asshole.
Stay tuned, I'm cooking 🧑🍳
If you're asking about game strats, badly, LOL. Pretty sure I died twice to her in my first run and it was a rough way of being thrown into "serious" DnD combat.
With the exception of a couple of encounters that just so happened to turn out SURPRISINGLY cinematic, I'm just realizing that I actually don't think too often about how most of the fights went in real-time! I imagine Autie Ethel's in particular wasn't one that DU drow went into of his own accord, probably rather at a companion's insistence. That's as deep as I've thought about that personally.
Now... Back to game strats. I personally try to get a surprise round on her however I can by sneaking and shooting an arrow or AOE in her general location, since she always stands on roughly the same spot while invisible. I have my companions spread about the arena so we can take her clones down as fast as possible, and as soon as I identify who the real Ethel is I just have the strongest martial characters wail on her until she begs to be let go. Hers is one of the few fights that is actually pretty dang easy at this point for me - and I SUCK at this game.
That would certainly take a while! But, Bhaalist DU drow does kind of have an end goal, actually.
That might also turn into a comic eventually, but it would a rough one.
He pretty swiftly disposed of her, DU drow doesn't like being talked down to, which Minthara very promptly does. Him (and I, by extension) had very limited exposure to her and she was just kind of a speck of dust in his story in particular. Though I have since grown to adore her character in my proceeding runs where I do recruit her!
I guess if he got an invitation and it wasn't particularly painful to arrive at the venue, sure! He would specially love to take Astarion to Gale's wedding ceremony and purposely upstage him at every at every opportunity, LOL.
Yes. He got pretty freaky with the pain-priest. This is gonna sound like a lie but I made him get naked for it without even knowing there was a buff to be gained (I didn't get it, unfortunately, I don't remember whether I failed a check or if I had camp clothes toggled on, so it didn't count as being truly nude). I wasn't taking the game very seriously and just doing dumb roleplay things to see what would happen, LOL.
And I consider that canonical. I think DU drow saw the opportunity to show off his physique And had a strange inkling that this was a practice he was... Somehow familiar with.
Imagine my joy when Astarion and Shadowheart start having a back-and-forth about my absurd display. That's when i knew those were my people, to be honest.

So I do some writing on the side and recently a couple friends of mine started making this DND style AU about their WL/SOL/CTM maps, I’ve, accidentally, become obsessed with this AU and figured I’d put some writing on here for fun
These were made with a one time pass through as a fan of the AU, if you want to learn more about it, most of the content of this AU and its basics are here, and spread through out Lew’s blog. it’s creators are Lew (Ellery), CJ (Syyrin). Smurg (Flint), Chris (Iscariot), and Maruu (Mar).
Please check it out. They have made me insane about this. There is so much art and things I will post because of them.
Card Games
“You ever play cards before?” Iscariot blinked out of his half-asleep state and glanced over to Flint, who was waving around a small box in his hands. Iscariot looked to the box, noticing the similarities to something he had seen some of the other people in the cult hold onto whenever it was a particularly long day. He blinked back to reality when he remembered Flint was waiting for an answer.
“Uh, no.” Iscariot said bluntly, recalling that no one ever really offered to teach him cards. It made sense to him, he wasn’t supposed to show weakness, and play was a form of weakness. It may have been a good way to pass time, but it was never, well, in the cards.
“Really??” Flint said, sitting up straighter with his face shifting to confusion. “Not even Crazy Eights? Go Fish? Poker??” Flint pushed, only getting closer to Iscariot as the man shook his head and leaned back in response. Flint huffed and sat back, opening the box and pulling out a stack of cards.
Flint shuffled the cards in front of Iscariot, confusing the hell out of him, before the deck was placed on the grass in between the two, and cards were being given to him. He held the cards gently, not trying to put a hole in them, as Flint held his own row of cards, looking up at him with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“So first, I’m going to teach you the easy basic card game, Go Fish. You can play this anywhere at any time basically, no matter what cards you have, as long as you have a full deck.” Flint started. Iscariot listened closely, not wanting to mess up what Flint deemed the “easy basic card game”. While every inch in his body told him that he shouldn’t be playing games, the other parts of him said that he should at least give it a shot, and he shouldn't back down from a challenge.
So, he started playing Go Fish. He slowly got the hand of it, sometimes fumbling his cards, or messing up the names of the suits, but overall he wasn’t terrible. He had even won a couple of times. After the fifth game, Syyrin came over and joined in, wanting to play as well after she saw the two “having fun”, which Iscariot wanted to protest. but he bit his tongue.
Eventually, Mar also came over, deciding to join the game. She made it her life mission to target Iscariot, obviously, with her one goal being to make Iscariot lose at any opportunity. And yet, despite all that, Iscariot felt… something weird. It wasn’t what he usually knew, it felt new, fresh, it was similar to a feeling he got when Ellery…
Whatever. Regardless, it was peaceful, calming, and-
“Can I join too?”
Iscariot’s breath caught in his throat, he turned to look at Ellery who was looking at them all playing cards with an expression Iscariot couldn’t place. He didn’t get a chance to say anything before Flint lit up
“Yeah! Of course! Here, after this game we’ll get you some cards.” Flint spoke excitedly, the group watching as Ellery sat between Mar and Iscariot. He watched the rest of the game, Syyrin won, and held the cards that Flint handed to him
Iscariot was fine. He could be fine. Being so close to Ellery was perfectly fine. It was just, a normal, card game. There was no reason for the pit of guilt to-
“How do I play?” Ellery asked. It was a seemingly normal question, something that anyone would possibly ask, but the way Flint and Syyrin’s faces dropped at Ellery’s question, only made the pit inside Iscariot grow.
“You- you don’t know how to play?” Syyrin asked, to which Ellery shook his head.
“Did I?” Ellery asked again, confused as he stared at Syyrin and Flint.
The space went silent, the cracking of the fire and the rush of wind being the only noise heard. Iscariot, however, could only hear his heartbeat, the loud, drumming sensation of his heartbeat as Flint and Syyrin looked devastated, and Ellery realized why. The new feeling he felt earlier vanished without a trace, falling into the deep pit of guilt that took its regular place in his gut.
He stood, dropping his cards on the grass before stepping back, causing the others to look at him.
“I will… check around the area. Play without me.” Iscariot mumbled, heading over to his weapon and grabbing it before vanishing into the woods, leaving behind the stares of the other four as Flint once again taught someone how to play Go Fish.

okay so. I've had dnd on the brain for the past few weeks, so naturally I've had some thoughts about a joker out fantasy/dnd au, assigning them all races and classes and subclasses (and making some moodboards for them)
I am still very much a beginner when it comes to dnd and most of my knowledge comes from scouring the internet rather than having any actual experience, so this is 90% based on vibes, but here we go!
Bojan: human bard
I mean come on, this guy was born to be an entertainer. I couldn't see him as any other class, naturally charming anyone he comes across and inspiring his friends to keep going. I feel like he'd be college of eloquence, just to really ramp up those charisma skills, and the Universal Speech feature is perfect for him. I could also see him multiclassing in swashbuckler rogue just for fun, those vibes are very fitting for him as well. Poor guy rolled terribly on Constitution though so he keeps getting sick
Kris: half-elf wizard
Look at that man and tell me he isn't an elf. The wizard mechanics just scream Kris to me, I think he'd love the organizational aspect of it all. School of divination subclass would be perfect for the guy who loves to make plans and to-do lists and to be on top of things. Also I could see him having the noble background, or at least his family being notable and famous in some way, his dad being a former adventurer who Bojan used to idolize or something to that effect
Jan: tiefling rogue
Sneaky and quiet and fades into the background, but also very good at what he does. I admit this one was the most based on vibes rather than rational thought, but idc it works for me, and it gives him a very fun vibe contrast with the class I gave Nace. As for subclass I could see him being an arcane trickster, that also gives him some ability overlap with Kris the same way they have overlapping roles in the band as guitarists
Jure: tabaxi fighter
Yeah Jure being a tabaxi is non-negotiable for me. As for his class, this one I was the least sure about - I definitely see him being a martial class rather than a spellcaster, but I'm not sure if a fighter specifically works best. I could also see him being (or multiclassing as) a barbarian or ranger, something with more thematic ties to nature. Either way Strength is his highest stat, but he's also not a brainless fighter, I could see Battle Master working for him as a subclass. Also I'm assigning him the two-weapon fighting style, let him smack monsters with two swords or axes like drumsticks
Nace: human cleric
The token healer of the party, but I actually think it works really well for him. He wanted to be a vet after all, and I think he'd be very comfortable protecting and supporting his friends. Him having the highest Wisdom in the party works well with him being the oldest and most experienced of the bunch. Life domain for sure, and I'm having fun imagining his holy symbol being a turtle, because longevity and good health and protection or something
#i hope theres a target audience for this specific overlap of brainrot that isn't just me#also i might write a fic for this concept in the future if i get the inspiration#joker out#joker out au#bojan cvjetićanin#kris guštin#jan peteh#jure maček#nace jordan

@steddiesummerexchange for @chaosgremlinmunson | part 2/3 | beta @stevesjockstrap 💚
T | 10858 | Steddie, Buckingham, platonic Stobin and Hellcheer, Wayne&Eddie | Soulmate AU, unconventional soulmates, misunderstandings, idiot4idiot, fluff | divider & meme doodle by me | Part 1 | Part 3 | Ao3
Eddie doesn't have to wait long for Robin to call him. He's chilling on his bed, plunking on the guitar and ignoring homework, when he hears a knock on his door.
"Son? There's a call for you," his uncle says through the closed door. (He'll say it's because he values his nephew's privacy, but they both know it's for plausible deniability.) Eddie is confused at first but then remembers he did give away his number that day, for a very important cause. He puts the guitar to the side and jumps up from the bed.
"Who is it?" he asks upon opening his door, startling his uncle. The man raises his eyebrows at him.
"A girl that's not Chrissy," he says, voice carefully blank and yet calculatingly implying. "Robin from the sex store?"
If she has introduced herself like that, to a random dude's parental figure, he knows she and Chrissy would get along great.
"It's not like that!" He rolls his eyes, before running toward the phone.
"Should I leave?" his uncle yells back.
"No, please, stay so you know it's a civilized conversation between a tutor and her student," he answers with a glare and picks up the receiver. "Hello?"
"Bold of you to assume we're a tutor and student already," comes the snark comment from the other end of the line.
Eddie admits to himself, and only himself, that he might have jumped a bit on this one.
"Sorry, I just had to say something normal to my uncle about the girl from the sex shop," he says pointedly and to her credit, the sex shop girl has the decency to make an apologetic hiss.
"Yeah, sorry about that. Blurting shit out without thinking is my cardinal sin."
He barks out a laugh. Fuck, she is perfect.
"No worries, I'm sure my uncle has heard worse."
"I have," Wayne mutters under his breath while sorting through their laundry nearby. Well, in the cramped trailer space, everything was nearby. Eddie grins at him and his uncle fips him the bird without even looking up. Eddie flips one back.
"I'm assuming your friend passed my message?" he asks, focusing back on the conversation with his soulmate's crush.
"Yeah, he did. But before I agree to anything, I must ask you something."
"Shoot."
"Are you hitting on me?"
Eddie chokes on his tongue.
"No?!" he reacts immediately. He hears her scoff into his ear so he tries to save it. "Not that you're not like, good looking or anything, you're just not my type and I actually really need the tutoring," he says the truth, even if it was just an afterthought in his plan to get closer to her for the wingmaning purposes. "Besides," he pauses, not sure if he should say anything. But something in the way Robin has been communicating so far makes him want to run his mouth without shame as well.
"Besides?" she prompts, slightly annoyed. It's her tone that helps him make up his mind in the end.
"I wouldn't do that to my friend," he says.
The line goes silent. Unnervingly so. Eddie gives her time to gather her thoughts and wonders if it was the wrong thing to say after all. If it was a confession too close to revealing his ulterior motives.
"Hey—"
"Which one?" she asks abruptly, cutting him off.
"Huh?"
"I'm not into your DnD nerds."
Oh, so she did a background check on him. Well, not that there were many metalhead Eddies in Hawkins High. He presses the receiver between his shoulder and ear so he can pop his knuckles. His hands are itching for stimulation; guitar strings, a pen, a joint, anything.
"What about nerdettes?"
His uncle snorts somewhere in the background but Eddie is great and making up words, thank you very much and fuck you, Uncle Wayne, you're uncultured.
"Yeah, that's..." Robin takes a loud, steadying breath. "That's more up my speed."
Eddie is not a quiet person. He finds it difficult not to voice his opinions and his favorite music has been described by some as "angry yelling". So he's very proud of himself for managing a silent little happy dance, even if he almost drops the phone in the process. He can feel his uncle's judgemental eyes on him but completely ignores them.
"Great! I'll pass on the good news to her then." He smiles cockily against the receiver.
"Yeah, uh, you do that." She coughs softly. "So um, am I safe to assume you are scheming to land your friend a date with me?"
"Well..."
"And the fact that I can tutor you, a super senior, while doing it, is just a cherry on top?"
"Super super senior," Eddie corrects her. "But, uh, yeah, you'd be right." Eddie has a feeling they'll get along smoothly. Maybe there was another universe where they were platonic soulmates as well.
"Does tomorrow work for you?"
"Uh, yeah," he says, almost forgetting what the call was supposed to be about.
"Please do not bring your friend," she adds, a slight panic in her voice,
"No of course." He nods furiously, even though she can't see it. "You haven't passed the soulmate's approval yet."
"You guys are soulmates?" she asks, a bit too loud in his ear.
"Uh yeah?"
"Oh my god! Just like Steve and me!"
He blinks into the ether with a frown.
"You guys are soulmates?"
"Duh! I've never met other platonic soulmates before. Do you think we could hang out, the four of us?"
"Uh, yeah, I guess?" He's a little bit lost, a ton ecstatic, but most of all, he wasn't prepared for all of this so he's scrambling for words to find. "I think it would be nice," he offers.
"Great. We can talk it out tomorrow, after school?" she offers and it takes him a moment to understand.
"Oh, yeah," he catches up finally, "The library?"
"Yeah, works for me. See you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, see you tomorrow," he parrots. He listens to her drop one last goodnight before the line goes dead.
Wayne gives him a moment to contemplate on stuff, before walking up to him. He takes the phone from his loose grip and puts it back on the cradles.
"Wanna catch me up?" he asks. It's not demanding, it never is, the way he's heard some parents talk to their kids. It's a genuine offer to get involved in his nephew's life. Eddie's eyes finally focus on him.
"Can I get a beer?"
"Can I get a joint?" Wayne shoots back, making Eddie smile.
"Deal."
They sit around their tiny coffee table, sharing a joint while Eddie catches him up on the events since he and Chris stepped into a random sex shop in the middle of a storm. When he's finished, Wayne hoards the joint with a look of concern in his eyes, despite Eddie reaching out for his turn on the weed.
"Son." His voice turns stern, letting him know it's important and he should listen.
"What?" Eddie whines instead, making one more pathetic flail for the reefer.
"So you meet this guy twice on sheer accident, your soulmates seem to be interested in each other and he has a DnD tattoo, which is something you are very interested in."
"Yeah?" Eddie frowns, completely oblivious to where his uncle is going. He reached out again but the joint was just flying further out of his reach.
"Son. Don't you think the DnD soulmate he's looking for, might be you?" his uncle says bluntly, clearly the weed speaking through him properly.
Eddie shakes his head.
"I don't have the tattoo to match."
"Kid, I will smack you into a different state," Wayne says flatly and seems about ready to act on his threat. "Do they teach you nothing at school?"
"I don't know, I'm not learning anything."
Wayne glares at him while Eddie gives him an innocent smile.
"I knew a guy," he says, the patience for his nephew thin yet endless. "Whose mark complimented his wives. He had a fork and she had a knife."
"You're joking," Eddie says with a delighted smile.
"No," Wayne smiles at him. "They opened a very successful bistro. I also knew a couple who got matching marks after they met."
"That's stupid." Eddie frowns. "How is that supposed to make finding your soulmate easier?"
Wayne shrugs.
"Since when anything in life is easy? Or smart? Or making sense?"
His uncle stares at the wall with that ancient philosopher's gaze and Eddie finally manages to pluck the joint out of his hand.
"Okay, old man, I think that's enough weed for you today."
He doesn't protest and turns to his nephew instead.
"Every relationship is unique, you know? And so are the soulmate bonds."
Eddie knows it's true, but his mind doesn't want to wrap around the possibility suggested here.
"You know what is very unique? A teenager and his uncle indulging in illegal substances on a random afternoon."
Wayne smiles at him, gathering him into a sideways hug.
"Ain't no other family like ours," he agrees. And then promptly breaks the moment by tightening his grip to give Eddie a noogie.
"Ow, no, Wayne! My hair!"
"I didn't know I booked a double lesson." Eddie raises his eyebrows when he spots not one but two people waiting at the library entrance.
The shrimp in a hat next to Robin snorts.
"Please," he lisps. "I don't need tutoring."
Eddie frowns at the tone of the literal freshman in front of him and watches Robin cross her arms.
"I don't know, kid, your Latin could use some work."
The kid bristles, his hackles rising like an angry cat. It looks very amusing and forces Eddie to bite his lip not to smile.
"I am working on it! Thank you very much!"
"So," Eddie reminds them of his presence. "What is the nerd doing here?" he rephrases his question.
"The nerd," the kid repeats, his tone not offended, but proud, which Eddie can totally fuck with. "Heard you're a Dungeon Master?"
Under all his cockiness and self-confidence, he couldn't hide the excitement and hope. Eddie smiled against himself and gave a small bow.
"Indeed I am. Eddie the Banished, Son of the Moon. At your service."
"Oh my god," Robin groans, while the kid seems about ready to pee his pants from excitement. "Let's go, you nerds, you can talk on the way." She rolls her eyes and turns without looking back. Eddie follows her in the direction of study rooms and the kid trots along next to him.
"I'm Dustin, by the way. A dwarven bard," he introduces himself.
"Dustin?" It rings a bell... "Wait, Steve's freshman friend?"
The kid grins with delight.
"He said we're friends?"
Uh-oh.
"I don't remember what he said exactly," he covers up quickly. "But I do remember he mentioned a party looking for a DM. Are you guys new to DnD?"
The smile he got for that question made him lowkey want to smack the kid and highkey excited to have players he won't have to spend a whole campaign explaining the rules to. He would, if needed, but having seasoned players with their own playing styles he doesn't know yet? That's trouble at the table that he couldn't wait to witness.
Robin refuses to let Dustin pass through the door professionally labeled (with a black marker on a piece of paper) as a 'student tutoring' room. She puts a hand against his chest when he tries to follow them.
"Listen, Henderson. I promised Steve I'd give this guy a chance..."
Eddie raises his eyebrow at that piece of information.
"And you're going to ruin it if you keep bothering us. Do you want Steve to be disappointed?"
Dustin frowns at her and the arm holding him back. He swats it away but doesn't pass the threshold.
"That's blackmail," he huffs, crossing his arms.
"That's facts," Robin corrects him. "Go bother someone else. Eddie already agreed to play with you."
"But there's so much to discuss beforehand!" the boy protests. Eddie decides to throw him a bone. Mostly because he really needs to bring that wingmanning to a satisfying end.
"Can you come to our table tomorrow? I'll introduce you to Hellfire guys and we can talk out some details then."
Dustin immediately lights up.
"Can my friends come too?"
"Of course, man. Gotta test your vibe."
"Okay! Tomorrow at lunch!" He jumps up on the balls of his feet, slowly retracing backward.
"Yeah, bud. See you then."
"See you! I'll show you the characters I've been working on!"
"You really don't have to—"
But he was already gone. Eddie sighs as Robin slams the door shut and falls against them with a groan.
"He's so exhausting," she complains. "Smart as hell, a great kid, but so exhausting."
Eddie chuckles.
"Yeah, I can see that. How are you guys even friends?" he asks curiously. But Robin shakes her head, pushing herself away from the door.
"Nuh-uh. You're not getting the backstory yet. Spanish first, chit-chat later."
Right. Studying. The bane of Eddie's existence.
Robin manages only half an hour of his stupidity (foreign-language-rejecting brain, she called it, but he'll keep calling it stupidity) before announcing a break.
She rests her head against her arms, blocking out the light, while Eddie runs through the million topics on his mind that he could start. Apparently, he stares at her hair long enough for her to notice it.
"Just say what's on your mind, man," she mumbles against the textbook.
"Did Steve really ask you to help me out?" This was not what he intended to ask, and certainly not what he was there for, but it was already out.
Robin lifts her head slightly.
"Yeah. He seems weirdly fond of you," she answers with her eyes narrowed like it was somehow his fault her friend was acting weird.
Eddie shrugs, thinking of a reasonable explanation.
"Maybe he's hoping to find his soulmate if he keeps befriending DnD nerds," he offers.
She snorts. It feels like she's laughing at him, though. He frowns.
"Yeah. Speaking of soulmates, though..." She straightens up, suddenly nervous. "I think. And I might be wrong. But it felt similar with Steve, so I'm like, eighty percent sure..."
"Dude, just spill it."
Robin scrunched her nose.
"I have a feeling about Chrissy."
"Okay?" Eddie frowns. "I mean, that's why I'm here, right? To help you guys out?"
She shakes her head.
"No, like... A soulmate feeling."
Eddie's eyes go wide.
"For real?"
She nods.
"I mean, at least I think so."
"Well, you have something to compare it to, so I will trust your judgment," he reassures her. Only then do the meaning of her words hit him, and his eyes go wide. "Holy shit! You're Chrissy's soulmate!"
"Probably," Robin rushes in to add. "She didn't say anything about it, did she?" She's adamant about not getting her hopes up. If she was the only one who felt it, maybe it was a false alarm. Maybe she had eaten something bad earlier that day.
"No," Eddie admits with a twist of his mouth. "But she's not good at picking up this stuff. We had been friends for a month before we realized we were bonded."
That does make her feel better. She was the first to pick up on her bond with Steve as well, so maybe it was simply a Robin thing.
"But she's uh, she's interested, right?" she asks to clarify. It feels awkward but still a little less intimidating to have the buffer of her crush's best friend than talking to her directly.
"She literally wouldn't shut up about you." Eddie grins at her. "Yesterday she dragged me to your store and was very disappointed not to find you there." Which, thinking of, reminds him of Steve. He frowns. "Did you tell Steve? Because I was positive for awhile, that he was hitting on Chris."
"No, I—"
Eddie slams his hand on the table, interrupting her.
"You sent him to spy!" He points at her accusingly. "He was asking about Chrissy for you!"
She shrugs, crossing her arms to give him a deadpan stare despite her fiercely red cheeks.
"Yeah. And what are you doing right now?"
Eddie grins. Oh, he likes her.
"Touche," he nods his head. "So, about that date..."
They agree on a date next weekend, and in the meantime, Eddie dusts off an old campaign of his. A one-shot to make sure he'll even want to play with a bunch of kids. Betwee them and the Hellfire guys there's more than enough players, but Dustin asks if he can invite Steve too.
"I don't invite an audience into game sessions," Eddie tells him with a frown. He's gathering their character sheets to know what he'll be dealing with.
"As a player!" Dustin corrects him. "I've been trying to get him to play with us forever and since it's a one-shot maybe he'll finally cave."
Eddie makes a face.
"I'm not taking in a newbie with all seasoned players," he protests.
"But he knows everything about the game! Because of his soulmate?" Dustin reminds him like he's stupid. And he kind of is, because it should be hard to forget trivia.
"Uh, right." He scratches his cheeks. "Fine, I guess. But I want his character sheet pronto."
At that, Dustin digs deeper into his bag to retrieve another sheet of paper from between the pages of his math textbook. Eddie groans.
"Are you kidding me? You little shit." But he takes Steve's character sheet from him. Dustin grins widely, satisfied with himself.
"Just this once," he assures. "Well, unless he likes it."
Eddie huffs, offended.
"He's gonna love it. I'm a great DM."
"I'm sure you are and I'm sure he will. This Friday?"
"3 PM sharp." Eddie points at him.
"Aye aye," Dustin salutes, backing away towards the school crowd and inevitably running into some kid. Not for the first time, and probably not the last one either, Eddie wonders how someone like Henderson got himself involved with Steve Harrington.
Friday comes fast and Eddie is excited to have new players at his table again. Some idiots have been spreading shitty rumors about the game lately, so the interest has been scarce. And now he has three innocent freshmen at his table. And Steve Harrington.
He looks out of place between nerdy freshmen and metalheads. In Eddie's personal opinion, he even smells too well to be there. But he won't deny someone who wants to play. So he sets the scene and lets the dice roll.
It started in a tavern but with a twist. The party heard a couple of leads and depending on which one they chose, it would lead to the proper adventure or immediate trouble. To everyone's surprise, when one of the NPCs stops talking, Steve is the one to speak up.
"He's lying. It's a trap."
"How do you know?" Mike, one of the freshmen, bristles.
Everyone raises their eyebrows at Steve, who shrinks in his seat.
"Uh, a hunch?"
It's a very spot-on hunch and the party is right to listen to him.
The game proceeds and Eddie is enjoying himself, much like everyone else around the table. Well, maybe except for Steve. The further they went into the game, the quieter he got.
"Pee break!" Eddie announces around the halfway point and everyone scatters to use the bathroom, refill on snacks, or smoke. He's about to stop Harrington from leaving, but he sees him saying something to Dustin with a smile, his ass firm on the chair. And soon, there's only two of them left.
"You okay, man?" he asks without preamble. "If you don't like it I can kill off your character and you can go home," he offers. Usually, he would be meaner about it, but he's seen how much the guy means to Dustin. And to Robin. And Robin means a lot to Chrissy and Chrissy means a lot to him, and so the circle closes. He's not going to be mean to Steve Harrington. He doesn't even want to.
Instead of taking the out, Steve asks him a question.
"Is Bernard the traitor?"
Eddie smirks. Maybe Steve was more invested than he seemed.
"I'm not answering questions like that, man. It's DM confidential."
Bernard was, in fact, a traitor.
"He's leading them to the monster as an offering, isn't he?"
"What?" Eddie frowns. Did he read his notes somehow?
"He's killed his father that way too."
That... That wasn't in the notes. Eddie didn't write it down, it was an irrelevant backstory only for him to know.
"Did you write the story?" Steve asks, his brown eyes piercing.
Eddie licks his lips and nods stiffly. He looks at Steve's hand instinctively, having a hunch of his own on how this story unfolds.
Steve stands up and Eddie's eyes follow, for the first time studying him properly, how he deserves. His stupid preppy polo, his perfect hair, and the moles on his cheek. He raises his hand, the D20 tattoo on display.
"Shake my hand?"
Eddie sighs.
"Wayne's gonna beat up my ass," he murmurs before grabbing the offered hand.
He lets out an undignified yelp and Steve lets go immediately, shock on his face. It was just a millisecond sting, nothing else, followed by an electric sensation across his body. He looks at his palm, at the point where their bodies just touched.
There is a matching dice tattoo on his skin.
He shakes the dice experimentally. It rolls and lands on fourteen. Then ten. He looks up to find Steve's eyes on him, sparkling.
"What happened?!" Lucas suddenly bursts in, probably alerted by Eddie's yell. Dustin crowds in behind him, pushing in, and Jeff peeks curiously over their heads. But before Eddie can even start to explain anything, Dustin starts screeching.
"Oh my god! Are you guys soulmates?! You're soulmates! Oh my god, that's so cool! Holy shit Steve! I knew you'd get along!"
"Dude," Steve scolds him softly. Dustin deflates just a bit but he's still jumping.
"Guys," Eddie speaks up, surprised to even find his voice. "Five more minutes?" He looks up for support from Jeff, who gives him a nod and pulls the rowdy freshmen out of the room. The door closes and he has to pay attention to Steve again. He looks back at him and finds his face carefully blank.
"Disappointed?" he asks, making Steve recoil.
"What? Why would I... What?"
Eddie shrugs.
"It's fine if I'm not what you expected. You're not what I imagined either."
Chrissy was a surprise, so he assumed if there was another soulmate out there for him, they would be more like him. He usually pictured another metalhead, maybe a hot guitarist, a fantasy writer, or a hot groupie obsessed with his music. A preppy guy living a quiet life in Hawkins? Not in a million years.
Steve shrugs back.
"Robin isn't what I imagined either, but we work. I don't even know you, so how can I be disappointed?"
"Touche." Eddie grimaces. "Let's hang out sometime so we can speed up the process."
Steve rolls his eyes but takes a small step towards him. Eddie lets him grab his hand and compare the matching tattoos on their palms. They were nearly identical, but with closer scrutiny, he could see the lines on Steve's were softer than on his.
"We could make this weekend a double date if the girls agree."
"Uh, I don't know..."
But before he can elaborate, Steve's eyes widen, and his grasp on Eddie's hand tightens minutely.
"Shit, I just assumed you're into guys. I did that with Robin too, I'm so sorry." He's pulling his hand away, face red with embarrassment, but Eddie catches his fingers.
"Uh, no, I am. Both girls and dudes. You just... you know."
"Don't look the type?" Steve raises his eyebrow with amusement.
"Not exactly," Eddie admits sheepishly. "Okay." He exhales. "Double date, huh? Yeah, I can do that." He nods mostly to reassure himself. Steve smiles and squeezes his hand gently before easing away from his grip. The noise behind the door was getting louder, meaning everyone was back from the bathroom break and seconds away from stomping in.
"Great. I always thought your eyes are beautiful," Steve says just before the party reenters the room.
It's a lot of yelling and explaining before they can resume the game. It becomes the most unhinged playthrough Eddie has ever witnessed due to everyone making the most outrageous decisions to throw off Steve's omnipotence and make Eddie come up with lore and plot on the spot.
When they are gathering their stuff a couple of hours later, he's exhausted in the best way.
Steve lingers, almost kicking Dustin out of the door. He even throws him the keys to the car, something he never does, but Eddie doesn't know that. He helps him gather his notes and figurines, which he doesn't protest like he would with others. They would snoop but what's the point in snooping when you already know the whole plot?
"That was fun," Steve admits as he hands Eddie the character sheets. "It's a boomer I can't enjoy the story since I already know everything."
Eddie lets out a soft hum while arranging the papers in his bag in a way they won't get damaged.
"Gareth's been wanting to DM for a while. It would be nice to take a break once for a change and you could play without getting the plot spoilered," he offers.
"I'd like that." Steve smiles. Eddie grins at him.
"Okay! I think that's all," he says, looking around for any misplaced dice. "Thanks for helping me out. These bastards always make a run for it as soon as we're done."
"You just don't want them touching your stuff," Steve points out, following him to the door as he fishes out the keys to close behind them.
"That's true, yeah."
Steve hovers behind him while he closes up and Eddie decides to spare him the awkwardness.
"You can go, I still have to give these back to the janitor. I'm sure Henderson is itching to take your car for a spin in the parking lot."
Steve straightens up at the reminder.
"Shit, yeah. I better go to him." He runs his hand through his hair, hesitating for one last moment. "See you tomorrow?"
Eddie almost forgot their double date is this Saturday, but he nods at him.
"Yeah, see you." He's about to turn around and go their separate ways when Steve leans in.
It's just a soft brush of his lips on his cheek, but Eddie's body immediately sets on fire.
"See you," throws Steve softly before leaving.
Eddie tightens his grip on the strap of his bag. The keys are digging into the meat of his palm, into the new tattoo there.
"Oh my god."

can't remember if I ever posted this so uh. More writing for the dnd au Bee and I made!
cw for. drinking. alcohol
-
“Tango, please!” Jimmy begged, for what had to be the twentieth time that night. “Just one sip! I promise! I'll stop bothering you after!”
Tango gave Jimmy a concerned once-over, keeping his hand firmly wrapped around his drink. “I dunno, man...” He glanced around at the rest of the party, scratching the back of his neck. “This stuff is really strong. I don't want you to like, hurt yourself or something.”
Jimmy crossed his arms and pouted, huffing softly. “I'm a big boy!” he protested indignantly, “I can handle my alcohol!”
Tango whined softly, silently pleading for advice from the rest of the party as he glanced around at them again.
Pearl took a sip of her wine, shrugging. The astral elf had leaned back against Impulse's side, the centaur having laid down to relax with the rest of them. “I say give it to him. Saves the rest of us from having to hear his begging.”
Mumbo looked up, anxious as ever. “Tango is right, though... as a, um, an expert in humans– because I am one, of course– it just seems like a bad idea.”
“Do it,” Scar encouraged, “it'll be funny.”
Impulse just watched with a slight smirk on his face. “I'm not healing you if you get sick.”
“Good thing I won't get sick, then!” Jimmy took the drink from Tango and, with a confident grin, took a huge sip.
“Aaaand I'm going to need you to make a constitution check, with disadvantage,” Grian interrupted.
“Oh, come on!” Jimmy complained as he picked up his die, “that's just unfair!” He rolled, looked at the die, and groaned. “...eight. At least it's not a one?”
Grian smirked. “So. You take a sip of this drink, and immediately regret it. You're reminded of that one time you tried to eat a torch as a child. It burns, and tears spring to your eyes as you barely manage to choke it down.”
Jimmy sniffled, wiping his eyes furiously as he tried to hide his tears. Scar had fallen against Mumbo, wheezing with laughter while Pearl and Impulse tried to hide chuckles of their own. Tango snatched back the drink, clearly very worried. “Jimmy, you good?”
Through the pain, eyes watering and his nose running, Jimmy gave Tango a weak smile and a thumbs up. “Doin' great.”

May we have Vashwood x reader part 3 please?
Authors Note: my poor anon you've been sitting in the box but I shall release you.
Sorry guys! I was super busy and then I put a bunch of work into a DnD Campaign so my creative brain was fried a bit then I got sick and then my hands got messed up from saving my cat from a dog attack and- I'm rambling! Sorry for the long wait is what I mean! Enjoy!
Other Parts Here: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 3 (Alt. End)
Vashwood x Reader Soulmate Au Pt.3
No. No absolutely not is your first thought, your second thought being I'm going to kick these idiots ass.
"Are you listening doll face?" The man, who's name is presumably "Nick" says.
It's quiet besides the blood rushing in your ears. Everyone in town is probably asleep or close to it by now and these two just keep watching you like you're supposed to know how to react to this, like this is remotely a normal situation to be in.
"Did we break them? I told you it was too much! You never listen to me" the spikey one pouts. They seem comfortable with each other, you wonder how long they've been together. You suppose it makes sense that if they had found each other first they wouldn't have thought to look for you, having multiple soulmates was rare and considering you did everything in your power to stay out of trouble it tracked that a third soulmate would be nearly undetectable, maybe you should have gotten hurt more often...no that was stupid these two had certainly caused enough pain for the three of you.
"We didn't break them just give them a second they're thinking, Jesus spikey are you the reason they say blondes are dumb?"
"Hey!"
The two men bicker and you notice that they're different in a lot of ways right off the bat. Blonde and black hair, blue and brown eyes, light and tan skin, it almost makes you wonder how you're supposed to play in here. How in the grand scheme of things the universe chose you to stand next to these, frankly, very bizarre (and handsome) men. You need to say something, you need to voice your concerns your hopes your worries-
"I hate you" It's all you can really think to say. In a way it's true and in more ways it's not. Be that as it may with all the emotions flooding through you right now on top of the fact that they've revealed themselves in the most unorthodox way possible it's making it hard to express what you actually feel clearly. Something along the lines of "you two made my life a living hell for such a long time I wanted to kill you but I've matured since then but that doesn't take away the childhood that got stripped from me but I also understand it's most likely not your fault and the fact that there's two of you makes more sense but also gives me 100 more questions-" would probably be more accurate. but "I hate you" is what ends up coming out your mouth.
"You...what?" you flinch. You weren't exactly ready for that to be asked in the most heart shattering tone in the world and when you glance up to see the blonde wears an expression akin to that of a kicked puppy you feel regret creep through your veins.
"Vash they don't mean that, I said mean shit too when we found out" Nick huffs. Ah so the kicked puppy's name is Vash good to know- ah...hang on a moment..
"Vash?" you repeat, "Vash like....like Vash the Stampede?" you say dumbly, but there was no way the man you had nearly made cry from one sentence was the Vash the Stampede that was plastered on every god forsaken wanted poster across Gunsmoke
This catches his attention, the wounded look turning into something more wide eyed like a man who's forgotten to turn off the oven at home.
"We never even introduced ourselves!" he says in alarm, brushing himself off as if it'll cause a redo of the entire situation.
"Needle noggin-" "shh"
Vash scolds the other man whos already patting his breast pocket for another smoke clearly annoyed with how this whole thing is playing out.
"Vash the Stampede and-" Vash nudges Nick who reluctantly adds
"Nicholas D. Wolfwood"
"-at your service! We've been traveling far and wide-"
"Because Spikey always get's chased out-" this earns Nick an elbow in the side which you also wince at when you feel it dig into your own ribs. Vash quickly gives you an apologetic smile but continues.
"-in hopes of finding you! y/n, we're your soulmates!" He finishes with a half hearted wiggle of his fingers and and look that reads "tada?"
You blink dully at them. Yeah that added up. This would be your life wouldn't it? First you are tormented by pain your whole life and now you find out it was because your soulmates were the man with a 1,000,000,000 double dollar bounty on his head and...actually you have no idea who this Nicholas guy is. Considering the cross...Jesus reincarnate? Unlikely but at this point you'd believe anything.
"nuh-uh" it...comes out your mouth before you can stop it.
"nuh-uh? What the fuck do you mean nuh-uh?" Wolfwood gapes pulling his glasses up, yeah...not your best moment.
"I mean, no thank you. Look, I'm sure you're great people- or maybe you aren't I don't know I heard a rumor Vash the Stampede eats babies-" "What?!?! I don't-"
"Besides the point!" you interrupt "Look I didn't ever plan on meeting you, hell I'm not sure I even want to know you. So...I think it'd just be easier if the two of you just..." your sentence dies in your throat the longer they look at you hoping they catch your drift.
"Because we hurt you?" Nick steps a bit closer and you tell yourself it's the soulmate connection currently frying your brain and not the fact this well toned man has his whole chest out right now.
"N-No, well maybe? It's complicated" you had never planned on meeting your soulmate- or soulmates but in hindsight a bit of practice of what you were going to say might have been smart.
"We don't have to leave yet, we can stay- just so you get used to us! We aren't that bad...promise" Vash offers and damn those critically effective puppy dog eyes he uses as he moves to get a bit closer too.
"It's not that I think you're bad, it's just...I mean I hardly know you" you try, you already know it won't work. Despite not knowing them you can tell they seem the hard headed type.
"We're soulmates" Nick counters lazily as if you're the one being irrational.
"I- I don't know, I'm cleaning up here and-" "we can help!" the eager blond insist, with another step closer.
"you really don't have to-" "it's the least we can do, we owe ya don't we?" Nick muses, again another step.
"Well I wouldn't say that, I'm sure it wasn't your fault-" "Maybe, maybe not but we've been looking for you for a long time" You notice Vash has a beauty mark right under his eye there's a weird urge to reach out and trace it.
"Looking for me?" you ask
"Mhmm, since we caused you a lifetime of distress I'm sure, blessed are the merciful and all that, it's your turn to receive a little mercy" ignoring the awful half bible quote Nick's smell is invading your nose, like smoke, cedarwood and-
You aren't 100% sure how it happens, all you know is you're sandwiched between the two men. It was a trap for sure, moving in ever so carfully like they were herding a scared animal. This should alarm you, two men you've just meet keeping you in place, but for some reason a warmth spreads across you. It's like seeing an old friend or coming home for holidays, a certain sort of familiarity and safeness despite not knowing much about the two at all.
"You can feel it can't you?" Vash coos down at you, using his flesh hand to tilt your head up to meet his face, stark blue eyes deeper than the ocean gaze down at you and god when did he take those glasses off?
"It was weird the first time we met too, but it feels good though right?" Nicks voice makes you shiver as his mouth ghost over your ear, hands coming to settle at your hips.
"It feels.." your eyes flutter "Like home" the three of you say in sync, Vash and Nick chuckle as if this was a predictable response but something tells you they must've said the same cheesy line when they first met.
"We don't want to hurt you anymore" Vash's other hand rubs soft circles against your ribs and you feel the sudden urge to melt into the two of them.
"We've been thinking...that we should balance it out." Vash hums as Nick works on nipping at your ear
"Balance it out?" You almost don't recognize your own voice with how breathy it ends up coming out. They really shouldn't be having this effect on you, you should be yelling, or scolding them- no you'd definitely scold them later that was still on the table but...right now seemed like a bad time.
"yeah sweetheart, pleasure for pain right?" Nick chuckles in your ear, deep and gravely whether it's from lust or the cigarette he just put out you aren't sure.
"So?" he continues, "What do you say?" you feel Vash kiss at the corner of your mouth and Nicks hot breath against your neck
"Let us show you how good we can make you feel instead?"

i have come to ponder the extent of kabrus wingman-ing in laishuro college au... like how much advice did he give toshiro... is kabrus voice just ingrained in toshiro now like is his internal monologue now "go for it, toshiro!!!" "remember, you have to be direct when communicating with laios, toshiro,"
kabrus probably the culprit of guy who says "you two should get a room" in dnd club . theres a counter of days since kabru last clapped laios or toshiro on the back encouragingly
hes just vibing tbh. probably giggling abt it like "hah theyre so cute it makes me wanna puke" sjdhsjdh
also, is he with mithrun in this au? are they just vibing? im so curious abt our resident silly man kabru
i love kabru so much he's actually the mastermind of this au. he's a matchmaker. i love to think he's the one that not only got laishuro together but farcille too.
his motto to toshiro is "good communication is very sexy." which doesn't work because toshiro is emotionally constipated.
and yeah he's with mithrun, i actually spoke with @lunaristes how he explained to toshiro how they got together:
"so i asked them if they were free friday night and they just stared at me and said ok, and i was like really? and they were like, sure. so since then we've been going out i guess." and toshiro's like. "excuse my language but how the fuck do you make this sound so easy?" when he's been losing his mind on what to do about his crush on one of the most popular siblings on campus. and kabru just looks at him like "what, like it's hard? i can pull anyone i want to." (it isn't. he's kabru. he's that bitch).
kabumisu are a pretty reserved couple. kind of like chilchuck and senshi they don't go overboard with PDA but everyone kinda knows/suspected they're going out bc they're always together. they're the ones giving useless, pining gay people advice on how to win the person of their dreams. they're always in sync it's scary. kabru likes telling them how he bagged mithrun because it literally took two sentences for mithrun to say "ok, whatever." and everyone's reactions would be like "what the fuck."
btw, they're a t4t couple because i say so.

HEAR ME OUT: ATSV DnD AU:
Miles: tiefling rogue. Mostly joined because of Gwen, not knowing what's really in store.
Miles G: tiefling hand-to-hand warrior. For the sake of clarity, most call him Gonzalo. Dragged into this by his twin.
Gwen: half-elf drummer bard. Could be considered a leader. Ran away from her home, after her dad, a head guard, found out who she is: a vigilante (wrongly) accused of murder.
Hobie: elf bard? rogue? warrior? artificer? SORCERER? DRUID?! Who knows. Wields a lute. Partially lost the left side of his face, half of his left fingers and almost both his legs in an explosion. Deaf in one ear (gee I wonder why?). Joined to look after his drummer, stayed to look after the others. Makes most of the equipment his teammates wield, from grappling hooks to explosives.
Pavitr: human warrior. Joined out of support for his friends, unaware of the horrors.
Other characters, you may add things here if you want:
Miguel: once human, now cursed, more known as a "vampire" under the name of Black Widow. Actual Sorcerer.
Peter B: Traveling family man, merchant. Knows Black Widow's situation the most, but rarely anyone takes him serious. Mayday is also here.
Benjamin: human, ranged fighter, wields a gun Peni made. Private eye. Also colorblind.
Peni: human artificer, wields a mecha. Adoptive daughter of Benjamin.
The Spot: once human, mutilated in an accident and became a threat to time and space. Nobody takes him seriously as well

It’s the death sentence of his pride in a gilded cage. But misery loves company and all that, and he finds a surprisingly fitting cellmate in an unassuming looking employee named Pete. just realised i hadn't yet posted this ramble on dnd au etho and bdubs when i originally talked about it soooo here <3 thoughts on bdubs and etho's classes and races
Etho - I often see him characterized as a rogue or artificer in dnd aus, which is fine and i see why people do so, but to me that guy is a wizard. MAYBE he has a few levels in rogue for the more sneaky stuff, but undoubtedly he is a wizard. Wizards are characterized by their want to learn, to study the world and the magic that it's made up of. And, ultimately, they learn to bend this magic to their will. Is that not what Etho does? He's a genius, he knows a lot about minecraft and that means he's able to do a lot of really fucking cool things with redstone (minecraft magic baybee). So it only makes sense he's similar in a dnd au
So, human wizard, specifically school of invention. He may be human, but he's fucked around with magic enough that its influenced him in frankly incredibly unnatural ways. how? i dont know. maybe he's fey touched. he's just fucking weird man. his eye is fucked up. anyway, him being a wizard means i also get to make side kit his familiar :D little artic fox :D
Bdubs - Half fae. Really he just gets the fairy statblock but he passes for a halfling better than a normal fae would, so its easier to blend into normal society on the material plane. having said that, the man has flowers and trails of moss growing wherever he walks so I dont know how well that works out for him. His moss cloak is actual moss, and it serves to protect his wings from damage when he's not using them (theyre pretty fragile). as for class, i COULD say the easy thing and call him a druid but i reaaaaally think he'd be a cleric of some sort. Probably light domain. You know, gotta have a pretty strict sleep schedule. the god of the sun can't be there for you once the night comes. c!bdubs is religious to me okay. his holy symbol is his clock, which unlike a normal clock that tracks the hours of the day, it tracks the sun as it makes its way across the sky. like in minecraft. but this isnt minecraft this is dungeons and dragons. the only thing that gives away the fact that he's fae other than his wings and moss cloak is his big ol eyes that are frankly kind of creepy if you look at them too long. he is plagued by nightmares of a giant moon crashing into the earth :3

like two month old doobles of when the Marble Hornets phase from two years ago had me in a chokehold I ended up drawing them as DnD classes because why not?
classes and races under the cut, sorry in advanced for the rambling
Brian is a rouge, for what should be obvious reasons, stalking, stealing medication, etc. he's just human, was thinking of making him a vampire or vampire spawn, but nope, just human.
Tim is a bard because I remember seeing Tim with a banjo (can't remember if it was in the bloopers or not, if it is in an entry I need to re watch the series, either way) he usually uses vicious mockery. Tim's a tiefling because I feel like they'd kinda be isolated in society due to their infernal heritage, similarly to how he was in the hospital till it burned down.
Jay is a druid. Bird man can turn into a bird. that's really all I have to say about why I made him a druid. Bird man. decided to make him a half elf, wood elf specifically, due to the amount of time in the woods (all of them kinda fit into that but I wanted to make jay an elf specifically).
Alex is a warlock. do I need to explain? he's used as a puppet by The Operator in the series, so magic user who gets power from a higher being, sounds perfect. he's basically possessed by The Operator in this au (just gonna call this an AU because calling it "Marble Hornets as DnD is just a little much). like Brian, he's just human.

AU where Steve and Eddie had gotten together before the 4th season, and then something happened in September before the Vecna stuff that cause them to break up. The only time they see each other is when Steve is picking up the party from DND.
The next time they actually get to see each other, Eddie is holding a broken bottle to Steve's throat after watching Chrissy die in front of him, and Steve is terrified because he hates seeing Eddie this terrified and he hates that he got dragged into this mess.
The next time, they really talk again is while walking though the upside-down the girls ahead of them while they awkwardly try to hold small talk because they both are too scared to admit they still love each other.
Steve is leaning over Eddie as Eddie starts the RV, then Eddie is calling Steve Big Boy, and Steve tries to hid how flustered it makes him.
Steve was telling Nacey about how he always wanted six little nuggets, but even as he looked at her, he knew that that fantasy never had her as the other person he wished to raise them with. Eddie is in the back of the RV pretending not to hear anything.
Steve watches as Eddie plays with Dustin. He can't help but smile because God he loves that man.
He can hear Eddie playing his guitar from another part of the upside-down using himself as bait. Steve has decided that if he makes it out of this he's going to get that boy back no matter what.
Steve hears Dustin screaming.
Steve is trying to stop the bleeding.
Steve is crying.
Steve refuses to leave Eddie.
Steve is by Eddie's bedside the whole time. He rights him letter for when he wakes up.
--- Sorry, I got a little out of control there anyway. This was all inspired by the song Eddie My Love by The Chordettes.
#steve harrington#eddie munson#steddie#steddie au#song fic#kinda#its not really a fic and it was inspired by a song#someone needs to write this#i will do anything#stranger things#i dont know if eddie wakes up or not#I'll leave it up to the imagination#my imagination says he does but idk#Eddie My Love#the chordettes#if someone writes this#please give my boys a happy ending.#another idea is that eddie loses all his memories#so steve writes him letters to help him remember#but the song is letters he doesn't send#eddie finds them years later (after getting his memories back)#eddie and steve still write letters to each other even though they've been together for over 30 years#i dont know this song just spins out so many Steddie aus where steve writes eddie letters#someone write something using this song PLEASE#headcanon#au#damn thats a lot of tags#sorry not sorry

Thinking about how cc!Wilbur consistently kept his story motif of having a guy who wants to be a different version of himself, who wants to change, only to have circumstances and his own choices sabotage him constantly. It was such a good idea for an open ended RP because it makes the character's actions and arc tied heavily to how they react to events not just what they do. Then having his "redemption" arc never being about redemption, but about how real change isn't possible until you figure out how to break old patterns was such a king move. It tied all the arcs together and then left it more about the character's choices in the face of events than events themselves. All of it adds up to c!Wilbur remaining one the most doggedly consistent RP characters you can find.
Like, we can wax poetic about how he played with ideas about being a character in a story or the nature of being inherently good versus wanting to be good and all of that, but we really only get to play with that stuff because he had a well mapped out and developed character. Man had google docs mapping out stories and his character before most people even realized there was a story and it shows.
It's the RP background in general. Wilbur knows that balance between improv and structure that I think cause a lot of people to flounder. Improv RP is great! I play DnD and a lot of it is that! But all the really great RP still comes from having a cool character and knowing that character enough that you can throw yourself into whatever plot hits the table or whatever is made up on the fly. It's the balance of being able to work with what you've created, but also knowing what you've created enough to let it breath. To be real, we wonder why c!Crime is in 8000 AU's and topping AO3 stats and a lot of it is because of them being RP characters. They're made of relatable tropes and Wilbur wanting to play with found family bonds and, again, tailored to be shoved into any situation the person using them needs.
If, like we're hoping, DnD happens this year I think we'll see more of those sort of characters that sort of scratch a spot in your brain. Fingers crossed.

What's King up to in your myosotis AU?
king actually hasn't changed a whole bunch!!! originally i considered swapping him with the collector but... i didn't really like that idea so king is still being raised by Luz! his childhood was definitely different from canon kings tho: for one Luz realized oh this is a Child and treated him as such, unlike eda who thought of him as a pet and then a ""roommate"". this does mean their dynamic is a bit different to the show, although canon eda and myosotis Luz don't take king seriously it's for different reasons. Luz is more of like oh he's just a BABY he's so young i gotta take care of him and a bit more infantalizing i guess?? where king feels like he's not being treated like the mature person he is (which like. sorry man you are 8.) it's like the relationship gets less one sided yk. does what im saying make sense. i just don't really know what ie could/should change from canon so ive kept it pretty similar bc like with Luz and eda I can mirror them but king is just. the outlier. he's just a little guy
he's a bit less dictatory/power hungry (as power hungry as an 8yr can be lmao) and a bit more chill compared to his canon counterpart. he also shares Luz's love for storytelling/reading! i think Luz would still like stories and escapism but im unsure if she would want like. fantasy even tho she lives in a fantasy world or just let regular human stuff Gus style. but king and luz both Love 2 read! this comes into play in S3 w/ collector where instead of... whatever S3 did the BI gets turned into a DnD game! bc of king. it's fun. i love rewriting S3. he's also used to being kinda independent bc sometimes luz has bad days (re: depression + bile sack exhaustion) and she just. can't get out of bed sometimes and take care of him. which is fun
im still working out what i wanna do for his backstory bc like. I Could see Luz realizing oh he's not playing pretend he actually believes this and just... Not stopping it bc she doesn't know how to handle it and it makes him happy (tying into her love of using stories as escapism). Or she could tell him and he knows he isn't actually a king of demons but Luz just refuses to share more of his backstory with him (reasons why she would do this are unclear) which causes king to take Eda + Gus (Gus takes S2 Lilith's place) to his home and then yk how the rest of the ep plays ou. the first one seems to make more sense but I'm also worried with making shit Too identical to canon yk???anyways. have some King drawing attempts
i don't talk abt myosotis king very often mainly,,, because,,,, im so bad at drawing him it's AWFUL. I struggle a lot with like. Nonhuman characters/animals those are my weakness </3 i draw out alot of myosotis stuff so like.. If I can't draw it I usually just don't do much with it?. i do have like. I have this MASSIVE timeline detailing episodes for plots and character arcs and it's a whole thing. Very large project. yeah but king actually has clothes here bc Luz is like well this is a Child i can't let him be naked. Still trying to figure out the whole putting clothes over fur thing and if that's an issue but ya whatever. im terrible at designing outfits sighh. also instead of having the collar with his dad's symbol he and eda make matching friendship bracelets! and then those come into play in S3 bc i didn't forget about that unlike the show lmao. I have a Lot Of Content going on in this au and I looooove talking about it :]
#this au is so fucking Massivr#i like playing around with it a bunch it's very fun#it's removed enough from toh canon that I can do a lot more of what I want and have fun playing in the sandbox#but i haven't touched it in a while mainly bc A. Toh hyperfixation slowly dying#B. Absolutely MASSIVE au (if I did anything with it I would want it to be a webcomic which is So Much Effort)#C. Despite this being an age swap au with eda as the main character... i have a heavy bias for the adult hexsquad#so i feel like i wouldn't be able to give the hagsquad story the proper attention and care it deserves#i do still like to play around with it though it's REALLY fun#but yeah. King and hooty are the two characters who haven't changed much from canon mainly bc idk who I'd swap them with#although i will say that instead of the owl house it's called 'the roost'#lilac post#myosotis au#toh#gonna reblog this onto my art account so that it's easier to find on there#a bunch of my art and myostis stuff is spread out on this blog and i really need to get off my ass and move it over <3#anyways thanks anon i hope this giant infodump satisfies you
