I need more stories and fanfiction where the MC is an adult. Really don't like the way we've shifted to every single MC has to be barely 19 years old paired with these men who are at least twenty years older than them. Why did we go backwards.

I'm getting mad about it all over again, if a man threatened my sister, much less threatened to kill her, I would crash out. Stand up Feyre, ACOTAR Feyre would not have tolerated this.

Something about most art of Nesta being sexualized makes me so very sad for her. She's reduced to a sex object by a lot of fans and her own mate. Yeah you can be sexy and empowering at the same time but there's just this undercurrent that feels very much like she was hated when she was modest and private but now that she's a sexy hellcat she's badass. Nesta deserved to be courted properly with gifts and books and flowers and chocolates.

I read Final Girls by Riley Sager and the main character really embodies how I feel Elain would be with a better author writing her. Pretending everything is perfect, perfect, perfect, because that's the only lesson her mother ever taught her. Being afraid of the anger, what she might be capable of, and burying it so deep that she forgets who she is. Settling for a man who's the easiest, safest option for her. Burying herself in something seen as soft (for Quincy, baking, for Elain, gardening) yet still surrounded by ways to protect herself (knives, poison). Refusing to rely on anyone other than herself because she already learned the hard way that was the only way to stay alive. Not wanting to be seen as a victim or a miracle or a savior because she just wants her life to return to normal even though it never will be again. Refusing to acknowledge any of her trauma because it'll make it real. I already mourn what SJM is probably going to do to her.

something something the inner circle's trauma absolving them of all guilt versus the trauma of anyone who isn't them being their penance for the crime of existing

If Rhysand's sister was put into power she'd 100% stop the brutalization of Illyrian women and work to actually fix Hewn city. She's my au savior of the acotar shitverse
Absolutely, she would've had this shit figured out immediately. It kind of makes me think of that one comedian who was talking about his friend who admitted to him that she'd been assaulted; he said he was so filled with anger on her behalf he didn't know what to do with it and she asked him "How do you think I feel?" Even men who sympathize with things won't understand how horrible it actually is for the victim unless they experience it themselves. Which the bat boys in ACOTAR never will, so the most they'll do is "🥺🥺🥺 We're trying to outlaw it but it's hard!!!"
You'd think that maybe Cassian, who had his wings shredded, would get close to understanding what it's like for the Illyrian women. Or Rhys, who IS a victim of sexual assault, would have more pity on those still suffering in the Hewn City that are likely being forced into marriages the same way Mor almost was. Yet there's still this level of ignorance to them that makes it so frustrating. I did the math on another person's post and even if there are only 5k Illyrians born a year, that's still millions of girls that end up getting mutilated in the time Rhysand is High Lord.
It's my personal HC that in the Rhys' sister lives AU, the power of the High Lord tried to choose her once their father was murdered, but she rejected it since she was still Going Through Some Shit. That's the only reason the magic chose Rhysand next to become High Lord, and he's not lived up to the title at all 🤷

Rhys being anti choice goes hand in hand with SJM’s not so feminist writing. Rhys isn’t a feminist he never was. He only likes choices that suit him. He has not done anything for Illyrian women. Nothing ahout Feysand screams feminism the whole series is laced with sexism and racism.
Facts Anon. He's only a "feminist" so long as they're under his thumb and not doing things that he disapproves of. He gives the illusion of choice when really there's only ever one option: his way.

someone needs to write an ACOTAR next Gen AU where Feyre and Rhysand adopt an Illyrian child and raise them side by side with Nyx only for that child to go forward and lead the Illyrian revolution against the Night Court. It would be tragic regardless of whether Nyx decided to side with his sibling or side with his parents + I just love the idea of the kids growing up and being like "hey our parents are shitty actually"

Rhysand's sister is named, as you all well know from some of my snippets, Rhaenys (didn't know until after the fact that it was from GOT 😔) and his father is Rhadamanthus just because I like the idea of the Rh being a royal family theme. I also played with the idea of her being named Sidra because of the Sidra River, since in my head his mother is named Velaris and his father renamed the city for her, which is something I talked about Rhysand echoing with buying Feyre all those fancy houses and stuff. Grand but empty gestures for women who came from poor backgrounds and would in theory be disgusted by the excess amount of riches they now possess.
I think I'd name Mor's sister Brighid(Brigid?) also to keep up with the theme since Mor is apparently(?) named after an Irish goddess. I also think it would be ironic and funny to have Mor, named after a goddess associated with "war and fate, especially with foretelling doom, death, or victory in battle." be the dreamer that made it out of the CON while the sister that is assumed to be just as bad as their father and left to rot down there is named after a goddess associated with "wisdom, poetry, healing, protection, smithing and domesticated animals." Keir is also a Gaelic name and like most of the women who aren't the MC of the series, Mor's mother doesn't have a name. I like to think she's from a different region and got sold off ages ago so she's spent more of her life in the CON than her original court.
Cassian's name means "void, hollow" which I think is very telling considering his mother got pregnant through sexual assault. His sister, I think, would be his half sister. Same father, but the legitimate daughter of the warrior and whoever his wife was. She'd have a name like Laetitia, meaning "happy" and "prosperous". A stark contrast to Cassian's name since they'd have exceedingly different circumstances surrounding their births. However, while it can be inferred from the story that Cassian's mother at the very least grew to love him, being a legitimate daughter wouldn't save Laetitia from the fate of every Illyrian woman and she would only be given such a lofty name because a daughter is only as good as the amount of money/status they can make off of her. When Cassian goes on his rampage in the village and slaughters almost everyone, including their father, I think he also slaughters her mother (if you go to his mother's wiki, it says he slaughtered everyone save for the innocent, children, elderly, and some females.) and any siblings they have, which also plays into her name since Laetitia can mean "lucky" as well. Is she lucky to escape her fate even though it cost her entire village and almost everyone she knew?

I'm going to piss off a lot of people by saying this, but so many of them who side with Rhys saying that he didn't tell Feyre that the baby was going to kill her because "it was too stressful" would have been singing a COMPLETELY different tune if he had given her an abortion without her knowing. Y'all only like HIS choice because the fetus lived.

"morde you can't keep creating random sisters to ship Nesta with because you think it's funny" absolutely I can, what if cassian had a sister who stole his mate from him bc she could treat nesta better 🤷
