So, something I learnt the other day. So, you know how dinosaurs supposedly can't see you if you stand still? Well that myth is based on real-life lizards/etc and how eyes in general work. So, once my dad starts infodumping, here comes some other cool information. We, humans, can in fact, also not see something unless it's moving. We fixed this by having our eyes constantly shake. And then our brain compensates for us, so we don't have to have shaky vision.

What if aliens don't have this? Like. What if they find out when one of us was looking at something in the distance, and they walk around this thing that's in front of them, and the alien is confused so they bob their head and oh, there's a thing there, but how did the human know that, and then we explain and they're like, horrified.

Humans are apex predators. They can hunt in packs. They can hunt in pairs. They can hunt on their own. They're persistance predators, which is unheard of. They get stronger when they're mad or scared. They have this thing called 'body language' which acts like a type of hivemind, even if they'll claim it isn't. And. They can see you. When you're not moving. They can still see you. If you ever find yourself in a fight against a human, for whatever reason? Run. Run as fast as you can. And hope, pray if you have a religion, that they won't follow.

I will actually never get over the fact that Dean and Cas find religion in one another in a nearly godless world. Yes, god exists in their universe but Dean takes no comfort in knowing that; he takes comfort in knowing Cas is there. He prays to Cas.

eddie diaz reading poem after poem after poem looking for the words that describe how he feels. “i will love you if i never see you again, i will love you if i see you every tuesday” and “not to me. not if it’s you” and “stain them. i don’t care” and “no one has ever known you as i know you” and “my heart is so full of you i can hardly call it my own” and “i want to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees” and “it’s still you. it’s still you.” and “i think i wished for you all my life” and “i am prepared to be devastated by you” and “i would invent god if it made you happy” and “your love will be safe with me” and “you’ll never have to peel your own oranges again” and “i want you to eat well” and “the goodness inside of you is stronger than my fear” and “domine, non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum meum: sed tantum dic verbo et sanabitur anima mea” and “if you are intolerable let me be the one to tolerate you” and “everlasting. deathless.” but none of them are big enough to fit all of his love and so he says buck’s name and prays he knows what those four letters mean.

i hope buck, eddie and shannon are haunting helena through chris rn. i hope when chris rolls his eyes and snarks back helena freezes reminding her damn well who his father is. i hope when chris bites the inside of cheek and is suddenly really interested in his hands when he’s nervous about something helena scrunches her eyebrows in confusion bc she swears she’s seen it before and her eyes widen as she recalls eddie’s friend, the same friend who was there when they picked up chris, having the same mannerisms when eddie and his team came to texas. i hope when chris asks for the ice cream from the store 45 minutes from their house near the park and he picks rocky road helena swallows roughly bc shannon would do the same when she missed eddie and/or was sad. i hope she’s violently reminded no matter how much she pretends, that child will never be hers in the way she’s so desperately been trying to make it be for years. i hope she’s reminded of her damn place in chris’ life.

i'm over 2 weeks late but happy 20th anniversary to the Most Important comic book cover of all time. here is my homage

Buck CLINGS to people. He got scared Taylor would leave, he asked her to move in. He got scared Tommy would leave (like how Tommy left Abby, like how Abby left him), he asked him to move in.

At the well, Buck tried to bury himself with Eddie too. After the shooting, he despised himself for surviving without Eddie.

But after the well Eddie SAW how tightly Buck holds onto people and saw how he would probably rather die than be left behind.

AND HE PUT BUCK IN HIS FUCKING WILL AND HE ESSENTIALLY LEGALLY GRABBED HIM BY THE SHOULDERS AND SAID "YOU MATTER TO ME AND YOU ARE STAYING NO MATTER WHAT BECAUSE YOU CAN STAY BEYOND ME".

And when Buck was let go again (in 8x06), he KNEW to find Eddie and that there was a space where he could settle and be held without asking.

No explanations because Eddie has told Buck he can hold his hand gently and that he can trust that Eddie isn't letting go, he is meeting Buck where he's at always.

The tenderness in knowing that the door will be answered and having no expectations of the person on the other side other than to meet them exactly where they are at, because they are fully and completely enough as they are.

I think that Damian hates the cold.

He can handle heat, likes it even. But the cold... he feels that he can never escape it.

First winter in Wayne Manor, he's demanding Alfred empty out the linen closet for him. Alfred stops at 10 because there is no way Damian is still cold with a mountain of blankets. But Damian still feels chilly. Bruce gets a nice electric blanket for him, but he still insists on a blanket or two over top of it.

The robin suit does have a winter version with some insulation, but Bruce makes the longer hooded one for Damian that is warmer. When he's really cold he'll burrow tight under it and he looks like a mini batman. Once he learns the benefits of hiding under Batman's cape, including how warm it is under there, he's there most of the time for patrols.

During the day, you'll probably find him drawing in front of the fireplace, under a pile of blankets, with a mug of cinnamon spice tea.
