CED LYNCH | The Leap of Faith Into Videography
Edited By: Destinee Daniel
Photography By: Destinee Daniel
Known for his unique visual craft for shooting videos for big named musical artists such as: MGK, Stalley and Ray Jr., I had the pleasure of going back to my hometown Elyria OH. to vibe out with a homie of mine that I went to elementary school with, Cleveland based known videographer, Ced Lynch. We met up at a favorite childhood park in our hometown. Just the location alone brought back wonderful nostalgic memories.
SH: So let’s start from the root, where it all happened. When you were a kid, what were your aspirations and goals?
CL: To be something with music. I wanted to be a rapper. Everybody wants to sing, or be a rapper, but as I got older I got wiser, I got smarter. I realized it’s good to have different backdrops meaning, I can always be a rapper, but at the same time, I can take a backseat and have just the same amount of fame without ever being in the scene. Fame can go different ways. You can be famous on a “look” side, to the global population, or behind the scenes, you’d be a different type of famous as well. I just love music.
SH: That definitely makes sense because I see the love of music through your craft. Do you ever want to film outside of music?
CL: Oh yeah! I do. I film weddings, I shot a couple of movies. What I’m trying to get into now is commercials and skits. Just because I shoot music videos doesn’t mean that I am limited to that world only.
SH: So I noticed that you have a signature style in your music videos. I notice you like to use dark hues, you have a certain way you pan the camera in and out of different subjects, and slo mo is your thing. How do you still keep your same signature style without clients altering or shifting your vision?
CL: To be real, I have never had anybody tell me not to do anything. Like, people have that much faith in what I do. Also, I set up the playing field for people to not be afraid to want to pitch ideas.
SH: So what keeps you grounded? I can tell from talking to you that you’re pretty humble.
CL: I honestly think it’s my personality. I’m a pretty funny person and I’m a good hearted dude. Everything that happens to me I feel is suppose to happen. If I hit the lotto, I wouldn’t feel any type of way because I feel that I’m supposed to be a millionaire if that’s what God has in his plans. What I’m doing right now is what God wants me to do.
SH: How did you end up collaborating and shooting projects for MGK and Stalley?
CL: By taking chances by pursing uncomfortable situations. I stepped out of my comfort zone and had doors open for me by just taking the leap of faith and going straight for the goal I want to achieve.
SH: What would you tell people that would like to start a career in videography?
CL: To definitely take that leap of faith and go for exactly what you want. I tell people all the time If you’re just starting out with very little camera equipment it’s not the equipment, it’s the person using the equipment. My first camera was a Canon Rebel T3i. Even when I upgraded, I was still getting better with my camera. It all takes time and practice.

TGIF | FEEL GOOD HOME ESSENTIALS
First off, let me start by saying TGIF! I love starting my Fridays leading into my weekend feeling fresh, motivated and inspired. I hate starting off my weekend on the wrong side of the bed. Here’s what I keep around me when I first wake up in the morning to keep me feeling motivated.
COMFY SHEETS & PILLOWS-One of the reasons I may start my morning off on the wrong foot is because I probably didn’t sleep well the night before. I make it very important to feel comfortable as ever in my own bed. I want to feel like I am sleeping on a cloud; and that cloud has to look stylish of course!
MIX & MATCH- Don’t settle for the same boring matching color scheme when picking out a comforter set. Depending on your preference of colors, I like to keep my colors simple. I pair my white comforter set with bright pillows to contrast. I used two standard white pillows for the back, one navy blue body pillow in the middle and two standard coral European pillows to accent the navy blue pillow. I love adding “pops” of color in order to complete the look I’m going for.
WINDOWSILL ESSENTIALS-I love keeping my place smelling and sounding good. I do this by always keeping a candle with a welcoming scent, and I also like to keep my speaker nearby. I love starting my day off with motivating music.
WARDROBE ESSENTIALS-Spice up the appearance of your wardrobe by installing shelf brackets onto your wall. Seeing your clothes right next to you rather than stuffing them in a drawer or keeping them hidden in a closet, can bring a lot of inspiration and ideas to your own personal style.

More Seafood and Less Acne
Since the New Year has passed and it's already February, I really can't complain about the trials and tribulations that I am facing in the year 2016 so far. I haven't made any resolutions. They're really not my thing, but I have made a list of 10 things that I want to accomplish before the year ends. I do this every year. That way, I stay on track of my goals and have a visual checklist, so I know my past year didn't go to waste. Well, one of those goals happened to be unexpected. After watching plenty of sickening putrid videos of various animals getting tortured and slaughtered, I've officially decided to give up eating meat...except seafood here and there. So I am officially pescatarian! I've been pescatarian for going on a month now. I know, I know, that short amount of time isn't shit! But I'm already noticing little changes about my body. Well for one, before I had totally cut meat out of my diet, last year I was trying to practice being pescatarian. I resist eating any type of meat for a month until I had a piece of home cooked pot roast from my grandma. You can't resist grandmas cooking right! So I ate a small piece of pot roast and lets just say, I am not playing around with my stomach like that again. So getting back to the minor but major changes. One month into my pescatarian diet, I am noticing my digestive system is much lighter. I don't feel extra bloated before going to bed, or super groggy when I wake up in the morning. After I eat a full meal I feel less tired, and I also noticed my face is clearer and brighter than ever. I am not having those annoying random breakouts except when I'm approaching the time of the month. I also notice I have a nice little glow within my complexion, which is cool because I never knew what people talked about when they used the expression "you're glowing" towards a pregnant woman. I dig this pescatarian lifestyle because I can still eat things that I love, and it's also a fun and healthy challenge. I am also not alone at trying my new lifestyle change. My awesome boyfriend has decided to live the pescatarian lifestyle as well, so we're each others support. Leave me your suggestions/feedback about your vegetarian/vegan/pescatarian lifestyle. I am dying to learn some new tips and recipes! :)

S H Ē K Trinkets for Small Spaces
As I am still decorating and settling into my new studio apartment, I am having a blast finding different home décor ideas for small spaces. I find myself spending a lot of my downtime getting decorating ideas, tips, and tricks from different blog sites, Pinterest, and even Home and Garden magazines. My ideal style that I am going for is a contemporary, minimalistic style. I love for my furniture to display clean precise lines and less cluttered space with simple handmade items. In this photo I am displaying a couple of gold plated wall pieces that I’ve hung directly by my bedroom window. I automatically fell in love with the geometrical shapes, and I couldn’t pass this up. I adore both pieces by the window because I love how they look as the sun reflects off of the gold plates. Having window sills is an added bonus for me because I love the extra “pop” decorations can bring to a small room just by adding simple jars, plants, baskets, etc. onto a window sill. Adding scented pinecones to my bathroom window sill was a must. I feel like I am killing two birds with one stone by adding simple pizzazz to my window sill, and also have my bathroom spread the glorious aroma of cinnamon from the scented pinecones. The basket holding the pinecones is of rustic gold paint, which adds character all around.

The weather outside may look ugly cold and dreary, but your style doesn’t necessarily have to be. The winter season isn’t my particular favorite due to the cold, but I can’t lie, I do enjoy bundling up in chic layers, while still keeping warm!
