Mindful Monday--Find Your Sense of Wonder
How often is it that a youngster you know gets excited or is in awe by something that is actually pretty trivial? For those of you that spend time around young kids, the answer is probably pretty often.
See, thereā€™s something that young children have that we donā€™t. What that is, Iā€™m not entirely sure. What I do know is that there are ways to regain that feeling of awe and wonder.
Now, some of you might be wondering why we would want to do that. I mean, most of us areĀ ā€œmatureā€ adults, so why would we want to do someting so childish?
Creativity. Peace. Seeing the Beauty of the World.Ā
These are just a few reasons as to why we would want to do that. And itā€™s more of a we need to do that than a want. So many of us are caught up in the busyness of our lives, from highschool to college to work to family and more, that we forget to take time to stop. Breathe. And take in the world around us.Ā
So here are some ideas for how to regain your sense of wonder:
*Leave your phone at homeā€“ this way you pay attention to your surroundings; the people, the nature
*Walk a new routeā€“ so that you can see something for the first time
*Make a conscious effort to see the world with new eyesā€“ thereā€™s something about seeing things for the first time that really pushes that inner wonder to surface
And as a last, desperate attempt to those of you who really bneed to find that inner wonder, plan a trip somewhere youā€™ve never been! It doesnā€™t have to be somewhere big and expensive, even just driving a few hundred miles to go to say, the redwood forest or somewhere else full of Godā€™s beautiful creation of nature, do it.

HEY LOVES <3 I hope youā€™re having a lovely lovely day and feel full and well. Remember Iā€™m here for anytime you need to rant, someone to listen to you, or just looking for some kind of support <3 And if it needs to be anonymous, Iā€ll gladly answer those too, even if itā€™s not about anything relevant to mental health or positivity, Iā€™m just here to try to be a friend <3 I love you all.
P.S. In this blog, I did make a religious comment, as I personally am religious, but if you do not believe, or you believe in something else, then feel free to ignore that statement but still try to go out and see the beauty of the world <3

Mindful Monday--Forgive
For me personally, this topic is a tricky one. Itā€™s something I struggle to do. (and forewarning, the first half of this post is explaining my situation. I wasnā€™t going to, but the more I explain it out loud, the better Iā€™m actually feeling about this situation, so Iā€™m going to)
Ā I did have a friend who was rather dear to me that, without any warning and for no reason other than her kind of being full of herself and refusing to accept that I wanted to do things that made me happy and be friends with people who made me happy, decided to stop being friends with me.
Okay. Tough luck right? If she wasnā€™t letting you be happy and literally told you she couldnā€™t understand how you were depressed, then just move on and forget about her? Youā€™re better off without her, right?
Well, right. But thereā€™s so much more to the story. It wasnā€™t a simple, ā€˜okay weā€™re not friendsā€™ or gradual end of friendship and going separate ways. It was a whole, pardon my french, shitshow of stuff that she and this other person who had been my friend decided to do as well. Not up front bullying that is stereotypical of high school, but just little things like mocking posts made by myself and my real friends, stupid side comments that were actually rather hurtful, and just so much more.Ā
This entire spam of stuff, started around a year ago today, according to my journal, and it thankfully is for the most part over. They made my final year of high school hell (though thankfully I did have people who made it the best year of school, so focusing on the positive, senior year was awesome) and even the summer. Someone that for YEARS I talked about having a huge goodbye cry fest because we couldnā€™t bear to be apart, didnā€™t even acknowledge my existence. I tried, and have continued to try many times to connect with her. Sometimes, I do get a rare response, but itā€™s even rarer if itā€™s actually something nice.Ā
I never got a reason that made sense as to everything that happened. I did talk to my old friend once about the reasoning, and even though from my perspective, her reasons were flawed that didnā€™t make sense. She didnā€™t like that I was part of a dance/performance group centered around human kindness (Iā€™ll make a post about that at some point because it was truly amazing) because she felt it took away from my time as her friend. Mind you, the practices were on Sundays, days we had already designated as days to spend with out families rather than each other, so we wouldnā€™t have hung out if I wasnā€™t in it. She didnā€™t like that I was becoming better and better friends with this fantastic gay lil shit that is now the best friend I couldā€™ve ever asked for (gonna call him Mike for safety sake) because heĀ ā€œmade her uncomfortable.ā€ Now yes, Mike can be very verbally sexual, BUT when asked he stops, he isnā€™t touchy feely like this other gay boy who is as much sexual if not more than Mike, but evidently this other kid is okay to Natalie (the name Iā€™m giving my ex friend for easier understanding). Besides that, I personally am very uncomfortable when it comes to sexual things, Natalie knew this, yet insisted on constantly talking about the basketball players boys butts, which she also knew made me uncomfortable, so tell me how my friend Mike was in the wrong when she did that? and as almost an icing on the cake, she couldnā€™t understand how I could possibly be depressed. While my parents were divorced, still constantly argued, we had financial issues, I never got flirted with like she did in high school (even though sheā€™d turn her nose at any boy who flirted with her); she had plenty of money, her parents are the most perfect couple on the planet, their family goes on huge trips and they are paying for her to go to college. So, I suppose, maybe she is to naive to the serious problems that some of have in the world. So,
I forgive her.Ā
There are days, that I question as to whether I really do forgive her, but Iā€™ve realized many things.
1) Itā€™s good to talk about it. The rant I did above (which again sorry if you didnā€™t care but) really helped me realize that yes, everything she did was honestly so wrong, but she lived a sheltered life, so it makes sense that she doesnā€™t understand. In your own lives, talk about your problems, or write them out it you canā€™t bring yourself to talk without getting too emotional.
2) Get the right perspective and realize nobodyā€™s perfect. While Natalie was the top of our class and had a good life, sheā€™s not perfect. There are many things that after being her friend so long, I know sheā€™s not, but Iā€™ll let her figure that out on her own
3) Donā€™t forgive for them; forgive for yourself. Since my decision to forgive her, Iā€™ve actually been less likely to try and reach out and mend that which has been broken. I still do from time to time, because as much as she has hurt me, I have said many times and will say it againā€“ Iā€™m here for anyone, regardless of who and what theyā€™ve done.
Of course, all this being said, make sure you learn from whatever happened so you can steer clear of toxic relationships. What matters is that youā€™re happy, and if they canā€™t handle that, they donā€™t deserve you.Ā
~~~~~~~
HELLO LOVES Iā€™M SO SORRY FOR THE LONG RANT. But that being said, as usual, Iā€™m here to talk or message anytime and anywhere. Iā€™m here for you and my goal in life (aside from becoming a pretty rad band director) is to help someone in the world to smile. <3 Love to you all
Wellness Wednesdayā€”Yoga!
Whether you do yoga yourself or have just heard about it in passing trends, most of you probably know what yoga is and know that itā€™s somehow good for you. But what exactly does yoga do for you and did you know there are many different kinds of yoga? Since most of my mindful monday posts can get long and ranty explaining personal mindful experiences, Iā€™m going to try to keep it simple with bold titles and bullet points! :)
What does yoga do/what is it?
*The practice of both escape and exercise
*Strengthens body
*Improves alignment
*Alleviates tension
*Increases flexibility
*Space for deep relaxtion
*Deeper focus
Different Kinds of Yoga
*Hatha:
This term you might have heard many times, since itā€™s simple another word for physical yoga that involves posture
*Hot Yoga:
This yoga is performed in studios heated to 104 F!
*Vinyasa:
Vinyasa, meaning ā€œflow,ā€ is an extremely dynamic style of yoga. Itā€™s often set to music and focuses on maintaining high energy levels.
*Yin Yoga:
This yoga focuses on the meditative side of things, and is often done sitting or lying down; allowing focus to be directed inward.
*Iyengar:
Typically uses props such as blocks, straps, and chairs in order to achieve proper form and posture. These classes are good for people healing from injury.
*Kundalini:
This is a very spiritual, breathing practice, which also involves singing and chanting from time to time in order to release inner energy
Tumblr media
I hope you all will look into these different types of yoga; or if you donā€™t have time, there are many online resources (I use Youtube) that offer a wide variety of options! :)
Mindful Mondayā€”Boredom is Okay!!
Hey hey being bored is okay!!
Thereā€™s so much negative stigma in the world with people who complain about being bored!
Boredom, or being idle for a more positive seeming term, actually is good for your mental health. It gives your brain a break, gives it time to process various problems that may be on your mind and actually is more likely to produce answers to those problems.
Being idle also tends to spark creativity and even motivation! Personally, when Iā€™m bored, I tend to spend a good amount of time sitting at my desk and staring blankly at the wall; eventually Iā€™ll suddenly get up and clean my room, or craft somethingā€” and sometimes I even choose to get ahead in my school work O.O
Regardless of what you decide to do, make sure during these times you let yourself be idle that your phone is out of reach. Itā€™s so easy for people when theyā€™re bored to pick up their phones and start aimlessly scrolling, which sure, youā€™re not bored, but itā€™s not really healthy šŸ˜¬
So be idle, itā€™s good for you <3
HEY HEY FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE ME ANYTIME Iā€™M HERE TO TALK! OR SEND ANON MESSAGES/QUESTIONS AND I WILL RESPOND <3 STAY STRONG LOVES
Regardless of your religious beliefs, I need to say this....
I am truely blessed and thank God my brother has an angel watching over him. He got in what could have easily been a bad accident. His sled was completely totaled, so had he not let go he probably would be fight for his life right now or possibly not even with us.
I know not everyone believes there is a God, and yes sometimes I have my doubts, but I have to say- Iā€™ve never been more thankful for God <3
Iā€™m going to try to sleep now... āœŒšŸ¼
