Horse kicks you in the head! Why

The Nine Lives of Colonel Butters
Though he won’t meow of it, Colonel Butters licked many in the war.
But the sour truth is that, as every kitten learns, milk is never free.
Whether three times three, five plus four, or by ones, nine lives go by quickly.
Claws may retract like they say, but not the feline heart, nor a cat’s soul.
Since he came home from the front, even a ball of yarn cannot cheer him!
Just staring out the window, his scone unnibbled, his tea barely lapped.
That faraway look in his eyes, pipe in paw, his poor whiskers trembling.
Heavens, dear Colonel, what could you have done that’s so unmeowable?
If only those mutts had stayed in their yard. Bollocks to those bloody hounds!
