These are the #1 ways to kill a roleplay, unless the roleplayers you are playing with are fairly dense or very very easy going. Hello, dear customer, and welcome to Equalia’s cafe! If you wanna know more about us (since Twitter won’t let our creator explain herself as she wishes), keep reading!

Rein

A human cleric devoted to the god of Death (formely a grave cleric in DnD) and a gravekeeper. A group of clerics saved him when his village was devastated (and almost everyone was turned into zombies, even his family) and he decided to follow their path when he saw they could give peace to the undead. He left the group when he was an adult and started wandering alone until he met Caelkoth at the verge of death after receiving a hard beating for being a drow. He didn’t want to be saved after all the suffering he had to bear, but Rein made a silly promise with him: he would save him this time, and bury him when his real time would come. It was very likely that Rein would die first as he’s human and they knew it, but Caelkoth had no place to return and accepted. After that, the two of them started traveling together and ended up working with Azucena at Equalia’s cafe.

Azucena

A cow shifter who’s very airheaded and a crybaby, but does her best to survive and make others smile. Nothing bad has to happened her, but she decided to open a cafe since she saw there were places where some races were highly discriminated and she couldn’t tolerate that. She wants to give those people a place to rest and escape the world that treats them so bad. She’s not allowed to enter the kitchen because although she’s not a bad cook, she breaks everything. She often says that she gives Caelkoth a high quality ingredient to cook but she won’t say what it is, so it remains a mystery.

Caelkoth

A drow from one of those places where your race would decide how others treated you..., and being a drow there was like asking them to kill you. He grew up and survived how he could, and was left at death’s door more times that he’d like to admit. After one of those beatings he managed to run away, and even though he thought that was finally his time Rein appeared and gave him a reason to keep on living, and he even treated his wounds. He started traveling with him and following him everywhere like a puppy. Due to his (Caelkoth's) previous experiences in life he doesn’t really know how to talk to others, so he’s always seen speaking at Rein’s ear when he wants to say something, so that Rein can speak up for him. He loves hugging Rein from behind, and has started to become less and less awkward around people since they started working at Equalia’s cafe (but even so he won’t talk to anyone).

Zaol’s Supreme Gods (brief explanation)

Hello once again, fellow adventurers! As you could see in the image that I uploaded about the dimension where the adventures are going to happen, we have three planes in the universe of Zaol: Eyrea, Alea and Raudrea. Each plane has their own gods, but the gods in Eyrea and Raudrea are called Supreme Gods, and they are as powerful as Serez and his siblings (or even much more).

There are ten Supreme Gods for now: five in Eyrea and five in Raudrea. The distribution would be:

Eyrea: Love, Life, Reason, Space and Order.

Raudrea: Hate, Death, Passion, Time and Chaos.

We’re still developing them but here’s a simple explanation of each one's way of thinking:

Love: they’d love to distribute good emotions and feelings everywhere. They’d want everyone to be friends, be they good or bad people, because everyone deserves to love and feel loved.

Hate: a rather depressed, hateful and mournful individual, but not a bad one. No one would know how to love if they didn’t know what hate is: they need each other, as they are equally necessary. Hate helps you keeping yourself alive as it increases your surviving ability.

Life: every life is precious and no one should interfere until the day of their fair death comes. Should they do, they’d need to receive a punishment. Condemns murder as it accelerates death.

Death: don’t really care if you live or die, it’s the life cycle. Every living being dies, should the death be a murder or not. That said, corpses of dead people should NEVER be used or bothered, as they deserve a high deference. Feels kinda sad that they’d never experiencie death itself.

Reason: even non intelligent beings follow reason unconsciously. It’s a must in everyone’s life, and so intelligent beings must seek knowledge and follow reason to unknown extremes so they can evolve as species.

Passion: who doesn’t need passion in their lifes? Without it, everything would be really gloomy and sad! Follow what you love to your heart’s content, even if you end having a disgraceful life.

Space and Time: those two would be the most powerful Supreme Gods, and the most unknown ones. We live in a particular space, following a particular time even if we don’t want it. Space and time should be manipulated as wanted for the beings that live in them, and that’s why they give mortals their powers (although it’s really rare).

Order: there’s order in everything. Should anything never be manipulated, the order of things would never be disturbed. But if someone dares to disturb it then they need a punishment for their actions.

Chaos: what can we say about chaos? As passion, we need it in our lifes as much as order, just like love and hate, life and death... This god loves trickery and mischief, but not in a bad way. He likes to have fun and that’s all.

Changes + Thoughts

So recently I had a problem with my DnD group and two people (of four) decided to part ways. Explanation of what’s going to happen and future projects.

Not gonna badmouth anyone even if I wholeheartly disagree with their actions so that’s all I’ll say about it. We couldn’t do anything to convince them and couldn’t continue roleplaying on our own either (nor didn't we want to. They were OUR campaigns after all or so we thought my bf and I, without the four of us it would be stupid...). We thought about letting our OCs "die"... but after one or two days we decided we didn't want that to happen. We couldn’t continue using the setting of SPAM and SPIM (it would be kinda... dirty to do it without them, even after all) so we thought about something else... What if we created our own universe? What if we created a whole new way to roleplay? New way to handle stats, new way to battle... And, well, we could do it so that’s what we’re going to do!!

Our universe is called Zaol, and the project is called Echoes of Zaol. Everything will happen in a planet of the plane of Alea, which has a sleeping dragon (Serez) curled up around it. I could say a lot of things but I’ll be making updates about everything we think of!! We’ll even create new character sheets so you can use it and create a character in our world when we finish everything! This will be a whole new roleplaying experience!

Oh, and I’ll be writing in English from now on since I wanna reach a lot more people. We have a wiki, but it’ll be in Spanish so people who are not so fluent in English can understand what's going on too. I’ll be revamping my blog too and choosing a new theme. This is Zeres, the second most powerful being in Alea's plane (after Serez and his siblings)! He doesn't know a damn thing, he just misses his creator (Serez). Pretty much like a baby on steroids as I said on Twitter. Protect him and pray to him everyday. He’s a mixture of species that Serez liked, and his hair shines bright like the sun (as Serez loved such a bright thing in the dark universe). He has tree bark below his clothes (mostly on his left arm) and an animal tail. His wings resemble Serez’s and he loves them as much as he loves his creator.

Once upon the beginning of time itself, so long ago that our imagination cannot even grasp it, a being opened his eyes in the middle of a grand, dark universe. He didn't know why he was there, nor who he was; he was barely aware of himself, but he knew that he was alive. He kept floating in that grand, dark space... Floating, just floating... Always keeping an eye of his surroundings, until one day he realized something: he could recreate everything he saw. He didn't understand his own power, but he thought it could be fun, as floating around wasn't enough for him. And so, he created his first planet out of nothingness, recalling everything he saw in the other planets that he had passed by. And that was his very own planet, the one that he had created; so he stood still and started watching over it. Eventually, in that place, life came to be. He didn't create anything more, as he just wanted to observe how life would develop without his aid. He found it extremely entertaining and interesting. He just kept observing, but, after a long time, he came to a realization: that wasn't what he liked. Those creatures that lived in the planet were, indeed, somewhat of his liking, but they didn't have any power like him. They were quite meaningless. As he didn't know wrong or right, he just destroyed that planet and created a new, second one from scratch, learning from his previous experience. Then he proceeded to create a being, his very own being, the first one of his doing; with a mixture of traits of his liking of those living creatures that inhabitated the former planet, and having his own power and his own memories granted to him, he decided he would name him his Envoy. His Envoy had a task: he had to create something that he could find even more interesting and enjoyable than his first, dull creation. The new being, having been created from him and sharing his own curiosity, agreed to this task. The first thing that he did was to gift his Creator with eight creatures resembling him, as he didn't know how he himself looked like. They were kind of different from him as they were individual beings, but they shared quite a handful of similarities. Those were the Elemental Dragons, and they were in charge of providing elemental mana to the planet, keeping it in balance. Then he created four new deities, granting them the power to create their own beings, which should populate the planet. And that's how humanoids, plants, animals and monsters came to be. The original being was really pleased with how everything was coming along, but he suddenly had a new realization: he had a lot of power, and the universe was, indeed, so vast... There could be other beings like him out there. And they could stumble upon his marvelous creation. And they could claim it their own... Or maybe destroy it, as he knew he could do if he so pleased. He couldn't name his feelings, so he didn't know that they were worry, or even anger. He couldn't allow it to happen. He curled up, as long as he was, around the planet, resting his head over his tail, protecting his perfect creation, and he fell on a long, deep sleep, from which he would wake up should he feel any danger. That's the origin of Serez's ring, which we can easily see whenever we look up at the sky, always protecting us from up above.

Si bien os dije que los siguientes posts se tratarían de los resúmenes de las campañas, he decidido crear uno nuevo antes para compartir con vosotros una pequeña plantilla que podéis utilizar con vuestros personajes. ¡Me encantaría poder verlas si lo hacéis!

A uno de los jugadores de Echoes of Zaol se le ocurrió que quizás pudiéramos crear una pequeña campaña algo (bastante) diferente a lo que uno está acostumbrado cuando piensa en el rol. Y esa campaña va..., sobre la vida corriente y moliente de una persona cualquiera. No es nadie especial, no sale de aventuras, ni siquiera tiene clase ni nivel, es simplemente alguien que vive su vida y ya está. Por ello tuvimos que replantear un poco las fichas. Si no tenía nivel, ni ganaba experiencia, ni tenía clase ni nada... Pues de poco servían también las habilidades comunes que se utilizan. Y así es como lo ideamos, sustituyendo con estas aptitudes las habilidades comunes de las fichas.

¿Cómo utilizar la ficha de aptitudes?

- Aunque cada barrita cuente con 10 minibarritas, el máximo que se pueden rellenar son 8. ¿Por qué? Porque para llegar al 10 el personaje debe esforzarse y ganar bonificadores. Un ejemplo: si en Canto tienes un 8 pero quieres llegar al 10 necesitarás ir a clases de canto. Si en Belleza tienes 8 pero quieres llegar al 10 también tendrás que arreglarte.

- Hay tres aptitudes que quizás puedan generar confusión, por lo que pasaré a explicarlas:

Academicismo se trata de la aptitud de una persona para aprender conocimientos académicos.

Arcanos se trata de la aptitud de una persona para aprender conocimientos mágicos.

Aprendizaje se trata de la aptitud de una persona para aprender nuevas tareas (un ejemplo muy claro: cuando un herrero intenta enseñarte su oficio, esta aptitud influirá en lo bien o lo mal que se te dará aprenderlo).

Sea como sea te estarás preguntando: ¿Y qué puedo esperar de este blog? Vale que va de rol y eso, pero, ¿qué vas a publicar exactamente? Y la respuesta es muy sencilla: básicamente expondré cualquier tema que se me ocurra relacionado con el rol, las campañas en las que juego y mis personajes. Por ejemplo, quizás un día puede que haga una recopilación de capturas graciosas de las campañas, quizás al día siguiente escriba un post dando mi opinión sobre las diferentes maneras de repartir la experiencia en una campaña... Vamos, ¡que los posts van a ser muy variados!

Si te has leído mi “¿Quién soy?” ya lo sabrás, pero lo repetiré por si acaso. Todos los posts tendrán unos tags específicos dependiendo de su contenido. Por ejemplo, los posts relacionados con Echoes of Zaol tendrán el tag #EchoesOfZaol. Podrás acceder a multitud de tags relacionados con el rol. No obstante planeo utilizar otros tags como “arte”, “opinión”... Todos estos podrás encontrarlos en Nav > Tags. Aunque este sea mi primer post ya he puesto algunos, así que échales un vistazo si quieres para hacerte una idea.
