  Where ‘words’ are ‘stings’, & ‘Embraces’ are churning, Where ‘smiles’ are ‘farce’, & ‘Kisses’ are burning

Where ‘promises’ are ‘pacts’, & ‘Silences’ are screaming, Where ‘suffering’ is ‘escape’, & ‘Soul’ is dimming.

Where ‘dreams’ are ‘dead’, & ‘Eyes’ are fuming, Where ‘heart’ is ‘numb’, & ‘Death’ is looming.

Where ‘lack’ is ‘you’, & ‘Separation’ is ‘love’, Where ‘Innocence’ is ‘tact’, & ‘Eagle’…

कश्ती मेरी उदास है, साहिल के पास है,

कारवाँ मेरा उदास है, मंज़िल के पास है,

ये मंज़िल घुटनभरी है, सफर की तलाश है,

ऐ मौत! चादर तो ला ज़रा, कि ज़िन्दगी बेलिबास है,

मन क्या लगे कहीं भी?? ये बड़ा बदहवास है,

मरहम तू दूर रह! ये दर्द खास है,

वफ़ा अब तो चली आ!! कि मोहब्बत नासाज़ है,

गर्ग! मेरे से थोड़ी निकाल दो, कि मेरी कितनी खाली गिलास है।।
