when dealing with mosquitos do you:

leave them alone and let them hang out around in ur room (normal)

trap them with a cup and a sheet of paper and put them outside (mostly normal)

slap them in the air or on your skin (sure)

hit them while theyre on the wall or a piece of furniture so it leaves a stain (absolutely fucking deranged)

#so funny thing #I was option number 1 for many years #I am so short and it’s so much effort to chance a mosquito that’s going to escape every single attempt #like sure if it landed next to me and I had a newspaper I’d take a swing #but if I missed I’d just give up #but now I have a cat and his life is more valuable than mine #so last night at 12:49 I found a mosquito in my bathroom on the ceiling #que me tying a paper towel to the broom handle and ramming the handle into the ceiling #my boy yelled at me that we would wake our upstairs neighbors (we did)#and then he took over and missed a whole bunch and then finally killed it #I was cold and exhausted and not even fully dressed yet because I had just taken a shower #but murder comes first when it comes to my cats safety #if I had found it in the living room I would probably have let it live #but my cat lives in the bathroom-bedroom-closet area vicinity #so I have no regrets. long live my cat #my boy tried to rationalize with me that in the mosquito vs cat fight the cat would win #and he was very confused that I called my cat ‘a poor unassuming victim’ who ‘would be attacked in his sleep’#text post #mosquito #mosquitoes #insect mention #insect death

@ people who carry bags everywhere what do you put in them what is there to bring other than chapstick, keys, phone and maybe a tampon why are you packing a suitcase to be outside for 5 hours

#too much #a glasses cleaning cloth and sometimes my glasses #a hairclip large enough to hold all my hair up #my wallet of course #my three things of medication #a reusable tissue because saving the environment saves me money too #sometimes a little bottle of handsanitizer #no keys no chapstick and no tampon lol #right now im also carrying medicated handcream since ive been getting hives #and i dont leave the house without a granola bar or similar snack because i get low blood sugar #a roll of dog waste bags because it doesnt take up much space and my boy always runs out #probably 10 receipts i dont need because i didnt throw them out yet #a pair of nailclippers in case i get a hang nail #i should amend that i do carry my keys if i leave the house alone but i do that sooooo rarely #thats about it for my current purse but ill add more things to a larger purse depending on the situation #like if im taking my dog i'll add a collapsible bowl and a bottle of dog shampoo for her and maybe treats #if i go to the beach i'll hold my boys wallet and keys for him #i can fit my water bottle in the bag so i'll smuggle it into places sometimes #so in short largely medical stuff and some dog supplies #but i used to carry around way more stuff including stuff just to give to friends #even the hand sanitizer is more for my boy than for me in case he has to adjust his contact lens #to be clear thats only an emergency situation and its for his hands not the contact lens itself #purse questions #tag games #neo carries too much stuff but she actually needs a lot of it #before i used to also bring an umbrella everywhere lol and also a pen and a tampon and lotion and and and #the tampon is especially funny to me because ive never actually used one of those in my life #text post

I don't know how American middle school works. Secondary education is schooling roughly between 12/13 to ages 17/18, so grades 7/8 to 12 (I think some countries go past 12?)

Idk how other places measure their school year; but a semester is 6 months, and a term is 3 months.

the funniest dynamc between my boyfriend and i is the chef/baker divide runs so deep. experimentally my boyfriend is a genius with figuring out what flavor profiles will not just taste good together but also will be enjoyed by the specific audience he is cooking for. a recipe is not a guidebook so much as a suggestion and he will frankenstein ideas together to get exactly what he wants to happen. he also didnt know that sugar will not work properly if you dont mix it with the wet ingredients in banana bread and when i asked 'why didnt you do it in the order of the recipe' he said 'i didnt really think it mattered'. autistically i exploded his head in my mind

#can confirm #banana bread is fine if you mix it all together #but banana cookies?! enjoy your cardboard if you didn’t mix it right #I didn’t know about the wet dry ingredients thing the first time I made banana cookies #and we literally had to throw them away because the oils all separated and the cookies burned #like they smelled bad they tasted extremely bad they even looked bad #and bread literally doesn’t rise and gets heavy and dense if you so much as reduce the salt content #like it’s not a baker being pretentious it actually runs the food if you go out of order sometimes #some things are forgiving like brownies are pretty forgiving #other baked goods will step on you while you cry #I made a cake without removing the egg yokes and it discolored everything #I didn’t whip the cream in a pastry enough and it was dense and gross #some people haven’t had a dense cinnamon roll before and it shows #I guess a way to think of it is that cooking is usually turning a food into a different food #while baking is turning an ingredient into a food #so the science for baking has to be much more precise #otherwise you turn an ingredient into a slightly worse ingredient when your goal was to make food #food #baking #cooking #cooking va baking #tw food #food mention #tw food mention #like the baking videos where all the dry ingredients are in separate bowls is very extra #but keeping your wet and dry ingredients separate is often a really important step #and calling someone pretentious over it just makes you look ignorant

the idea of public restrooms as "women's spaces" continues to confound me. you know who I hope is in a public bathroom when I go in?? no one. I would prefer no one else be in the bathroom. and if someone else is in the bathroom I am going to ignore them as much as possible. I did not go into the bathroom to connect with other women. I went into the bathroom to piss and/or shit. it's a toilet's space, not a women's space. shut the fuck up and let trans people piss and shit in peace. let's all continue to avoid eye contact with each other and any and all interaction in the toilet's space.

What order do you take pills in?

#so yes you shotgun em all at once #but!! the actual reason I chose a secret fifth option is because #one of my meds comes in the foil and gets popped out one at a time #but the other is in a pill jar with like 50 of the suckers #because it’s much harder to fish out one single pill from the jar and deal with the safety lock #I get that pill first #then I hold it the whole time until the second pill is ready #at which point I take them together #for more clarity the more important pill is in the easier foil packaging #so I’m doing the exact opposite of most important pills first. I’m doing them last #it’s all about the ease of opening #I only take two regularly but when I’ve taken more than two #I would take abnormally large pills by themselves if I had too many pills to take all at once #whether i took the large ones first or second depended on the ease of opening the package #meds #medication #polls #pills #tumblr poll #medication pill #ways of doing things
