he’s had the world thrown at him, he’s lost so much, and gone so cold

in both cases, they rose to the top but they no longer find joy in a position that they yearned for

and when he does latch onto any sort of salvation (in chef slowik’s case the menu and in bingge’s case revenge), they basically discard all of their humanity and pursue their goals to the point of obsession

also both crazy talented and have an odd relationship with the person who helped get them to the position they’re in (aka lillian bloom and mobei jun)

and they can both cook!!!!

margot: shen yuan

both outsiders to this world

not willing to play by the rules of the game (margot by not eating the food and shen yuan by not following the plot)

both hiding their true identities (margot is not name margot and shen yuan is pretending to be shen qingqiu)

and while hiding their identities, they’re put in life threatening situations that are not their own fault (shen yuan just being thrust into the cultivation world and margot being brought to hawthorn)

you just know that he’s a sucker for self insert fanfics and imagines shen qingqiu as the love interest. he probably has that extension that changes the names too.

i can 100% imagine like a 13 yo binghe writing an author insert with his shizun and it’s essentially just wish fulfillment. it’d be like “i became the strongest cultivator and was big and tall and could protect shizun. and he became so enamoured by my powers that he asked me to marry him.”

he doesn’t want to admit it but he definitely wrote more after that. although as the protagonist, of course his writing became really good and he and his mysterious shizun he always writes for gain a large following on wattpad.

i think snow by demeter is pretty obvious. it has notes of ice, water vapour, ozone, and dust. honestly i don’t think mobei jun even needs it. he probably just naturally smells like that. i can definitely imagine shang qinghua liking it too.

other option is replica by the fireplace by maison margiela!!!! this is definitely a very warm perfume with notes of clove oil, chestnut, wood oil, and vanilla. it’s a great perfume for winter and as the name suggests, makes you feel like you’re sitting in front of your fireplace.

i imagine that if mobei jun were to actually buy a perfume it would be one that’s warmer since he himself is quite cold. basically a way to make himself seem warmer and it’s working???? honestly love maison margiela, the vibes are impeccable.
