Alright let’s talk about this Kickstarter! Entertainment Echoes is about shows that ended 5+ years ago. If the fandom is old we’re trying to make merch for it! Our first set includes merch and Enamel Pin Designs for Teen Wolf, House MD, Merlin, X-Files and MORE.

You can see some of the designs here, but I also want to talk about our stretch goals and our freebies.

The first stretch goal is this Gravity falls mini pin set! The star is definitely baby bill, but I adore all of them.

Next we have our Teen Wolf Mini Pins! We love good filler pins for our wolf boards, so this one was so fun to draw up.

The last stretch goal I have planned are these text pins!!! We love quotable moments from our favorite tv shows!!!!

Next let’s talk about our freebies!!! They include a sticker pack, a baby bill keychain from gravity falls, and one of these lovely magnetic bookmarks if we hit the goals!!!

This is truly one of my passion projects as an artist and I’m super happy with how these designs turned out, please help me make them a thing by sharing this post and checking out my Kickstarter at the link above. I think that if Louis sets his mind to it he could beat the world record in divorce. i’m not even sure this is his and armands first divorce and I think armand would be willing to remarry and divorce a couple more times. and louis and lestat for sure have a couple more divorces in them before they’re done

Calling Artists who want to make pins.

Thinking of doing a collaborative "dead fandom"(rare fandom) Enamel Pin Kickstarter. It's hard to get a ton of support for rarer fandom pins, but I really do think if a bunch of us banded together and got the word out that it could be successful.

This would be a huge project that would probably take me months to plan out but I want to know if there are artists out there who would want to make art for it. Pins are risky, and making some for fandoms that aren't as popular (or ended years ago) is even riskier. BUT there IS an audience. I made a Black Sails pin that is doing well just the other month. Here is a photo of it!

It's huge AND it's doing far better than I expected given how the show ended years ago. (Also it's available now on etsy if any black sails fans are out there) (Also I'd want to make another BS pin if this Kickstarter got off the ground)

So I guess this is an interest check for artists out there. (If you participated with me you would get the entire backstock of the pins ordered with your design(s) and an even split of any extra profits to be made, if there are any. We would make plans, discuss a schedule, even write up a contract so that everyone feels safe. We'd also have to discuss a lot about the Kickstarter, and how it will work, as I want everyone involved. We can talk about stretch goals, freebies, and much more! Also I'm by no means an expert, only having 4 barely successful projects myself, but they were funded so I definitely believe in this!)

If 5 artists message me with interest on here I'll create a discord and maybe a sign up sheet for other artists who find this idea at a later date.

We're passionatte artists here and SOOOOO creative. I think making something for things we love even if they're not extrememly popular is worth it, and i think this could be an incredible success.

Also if you're not an artist BUT you are a huge fan of a fandom long gone or that never got the attention it deserved, leave a tag here and I'll write ALL of them down and see if any of the artists who hopefully sign up want to make something for it!!!!

Nice vs. Kind

An attempt to explain how the two concepts vastly differ and how that can be used to understand Crowley in Good Omens. (Both Seasons 1-2)

I’m going to preface this with the fact that these are not the dictionary definitions of these two words and I’m using a distinctly American/English Speaking perspective to give them context and connotations. The differences between the two words in English have been dissected and argued over by people smarter and more experienced than me in academic circles. Look into the works of Tina Malti and RT Lakoff for more understanding, but what I’ve managed to paraphrase is this….

A definition of Nice; Of an agreeable or pleasant disposition.

Ex. Using pleasantries when communicating with others. Please, Thank You, Good Morning, ect.

A definition of Kind; Sympathy to others and a willingness to do what is right, without reward.

Ex. Doing favors for friends in need, or donating to charities.

A simple distinction that makes a world of difference when applying to people, doesn’t it?

Now there is the question of how this applies to Good Omens and it’s two main characters.

Obviously mainly Crowley and Aziraphale.

And I think it relies in this interaction.

Crowley denies being “nice” quite vehemently in this interaction and he’s not exactly wrong.

Crowley isn’t nice, not really. He’s actually rather rude in most of his interactions with others, including some of his interactions with Aziraphale. It would be a stretch in every sense of the word to claim his presence as “pleasant” in general terms, no matter what Aziraphale might think.

But Crowley is kind. The demon is kind from the very beginning due to his relationship with sympathy and the selflessness he manages to pass off as a blasé fair attitude.

And we see proof of it time and time again.

Chronologically and with very few details….

With Adam, Eve, and the the garden, Crowley expresses sympathy. He states that it seems banishment as an unjust punishment for a first offense.

He expresses distaste for the mass killing of the people in Mesopotamia, specifically pointing out the loss of the children.

He refuses to watch more children die in “A Companion to Owls” and saves Job’s Children from their fate.

He expresses sympathy for Jesus and recalls his time spent with the “Son of God”

He performs favors for Aziraphale at The Globe Theater, in The Bastille, and during the Blitz.

He helps Elspeth with her journey and gives her stability in Edinburgh.

He saves the World because he cares about it. Stripped of his facades, Crowley cares very much about the earth, and not just for selfish reasons.

During none of these events, where Crowley is doing the right thing, is he “nice” in the terms defined earlier.

Aziraphale doesn’t distinguish between the two words, or words like them, and so he uses “nice” and “Good”(notice the Capital G) when it might be more accurate to use “kind” and “right”.

I think it might be telling that Crowley does distinguish between them. As he lives far more comfortably in the shades of grey than Aziraphale does.
