As a kid growing up on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, I enjoyed reading the Sunday comics in the newspaper and watching cartoons. In middle school I began creating animal cartoon characters of me and my friends for fun. Seeing my passion, my parents enrolled me in a Fine Arts School, where I could develop different skills.During high school with the goal in mind of becoming a comicstrip artist for the newspaper, I followed the advice of a famous local comic artist and enrolled in Architecture classes to learn scale and perspective. Thinking I would have more job opportunities in Puerto Rico I majored in Architecture at the University, but soon realized that wasn’t my true passion. I decided to follow my heart and changed my concentration to Animation and Graphic Design. Through my studies I found a love for creating characters. To expand my experiences, get out of my comfort zone and practice my English, I participated in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World during my senior year, where I also met my future wife.While visiting my girlfriend in California, Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico stranding me here and giving me the opportunity to follow my dream of working in the animation industry. I’m currently working as a Graphic Designer for a company in Santa Cruz, CA, while concentrating on pursuing a career in animation.
