the feminine urge to post a wip even though it’s not edited it’s not complete it’s nothing like you envisioned, and yet — u want your three mutual blorbos to pls pat u on the head, to pls validate u, to tell u ur words are something and that you aren’t alone and that the words on the screen are worth the endeavour. and sometimes it’s about the one to one understanding of the words on the page. sometimes it’s about the story making it from head to paper. sometimes it’s just about being deranged in your DMs and making the idea happen just for your own sake, or the two of you. the snake eats itself but it sustains and sustains, and i just think that’s beautiful.

A thought...or a question???

This thought came to me when I found a teen titans comic and honestly after looking at it I think there should be more fanfictions where the teen titans meet the bats and I was mostly thinking about them meeting Batman.

I just want to see the titans being shocked that their cold leader lights up with smiles at seeing this tiny Robin and how he clings to batman (I know during this main time he's all serious because of the batman fight thing but just ignore that)

And it's not just the bats that I've been thinking of like what if the teen titans saw the young justice greet Dick with smiles and friendly greeting and hugs. I feel like they would think Dick is possessed when he starts making puns and jokes with Wally.

I can see them shocked when RedHood just comes in and gets trapped in a octopus hug from Dick, then comes in a sleep deprived Red Robin and a small Robin (or maybe the girls too + Cass would definitely scare everyone)

I've just been looking for these types of Fanfiction ideas or maybe the bats beating Slade...?

Alright! Bridgerton fanfiction readers!!! I’ve just fell into this fandom recently and need to write some stories. I’ve had this thought in my head and now I just need to iron out some details.

So I want to make a story to the song ‘Stupid in Love’- MAX bc it’s been playing on repeat in my head since I actually watched Bridgerton. Now on to the details I need help with.

It will be a Penelope Featherington centric but I can’t figure out which Bridgerton son to put her with. I’m on a Penthony kick right now or does it sound more like a Polin or Penedict? I’m open to any of these 3 ships.

I HATE IT HERE

The feeling of complete and utter disapointment when you read a fic and one or multiple characters suddenly feel so ooc.

Like I don’t mind them being a bit ooc, but when the writer don’t tag it and out of nowhere they have a completely different personality it’s soooo annoying😭

The trouble with oneshots is I’m jumping into this rich and nuanced world, but I can only explore a small portion of it. I feel like a time-traveler on a budget, trying to figure out where I want to land because I only get one shot at this and I want to make the best of it.

I realised i've never really talked about how my writing process goes on here (since i just post and leave 💀) but this time i need to get something off my chest </3 i'm 4 days into writing a Zosan one shot and the struggle is REAL !! its the first MLM/gay pairing i write about and the storyline is such a challenge it keeps me awake at night.

it was supposed to be a simple 3-5k words fic with zoro crushing on Sanji from afar on the Going Merry but the story took an unexpected turn and i'm 11K words deep with the crew stuck on an island i racked my brain to create, internal and emotionnal struggle, identity crisis, mutual lust and blatant denial of feelings from both Sanji and Zoro, leaving me wondering how on earth i'm supposed to wrap all of this. It wasnt until this morning that I figured out a way for romantic attraction to tie them together at the end (and even then i'm not sure of the execution).

Now I face a bigger problem which is how to write the smut since i mostly write (and read) heterosexual pairings. I tried reading some mlm fics (after a few years of not doing so) but even then I still don't feel confident and fear it won't be written well — i plan on making it simple since my stories mainly focus on characters emotions, plot and emotionnal intimacy rather than physical contact. but i feel smut must be written to showcase the inner monologue about how both characters feel after having crossed that line.

All that to say i'm currently facing a writing crisis and it's taking me all i have to not give up on the fic since i love the pairing. Sorry for the rant.

Message to the fanfic keyboard warriors who leave nasty, disrespectful reviews

Let me be clear:

It's fanfic. It is free entertainment written by people who adore their ship.

No one is forcing you to read a free fanfic story. Fanfic is not written for your sole entertainment. Fanfic writers are not obligated to entertain one specific fanfic reader. If you don't like a free fanfic story that no one forced you to read, that's fine. I don't expect every person who reads Contractions of the Heart, or any story I write, to enjoy it. As a person with common sense, I don't expect to enjoy every story or novel I read.

But when you come across a fanfic story you don't enjoy, there's no need to be an obnoxious asshole about it. It's not difficult to not be an obnoxious asshole.

And how am I to blame for you not having enough sense to stop reading a story you don't like? That's a you problem.

There truly are more pressing issues in this world than not liking a free fanfic that no one forced you to read. Direct some of that energy to actual injustices in this world.

You have done absolutely nothing to deter me from writing the glorious story that is Contractions of the Heart.
