— As you walked around the Paddock Club with your two friends, you tried to take it all in. "I can't believe how expensive it is to get into this place," Lhea said, browsing the internet for the prices of the passes hanging around your necks. "Yeah, honestly, I have no idea how my brother and his friends managed to afford these," added Liv. While the two continued their conversation, your eyes caught a familiar figure. It was Lando, the guy from the airport.

"YN, isn't that– ow!" Lhea exclaimed as you elbowed her side, causing her to glare at you. You offered an apologetic smile, and she brushed it off, rubbing her side. "Let's just keep walking and get to wherever," you suggested. They nodded and followed closely behind you.

You didn't dare to look in his direction, pretending you hadn't noticed him. Unsure if he had seen you, you let your thoughts drift. Suddenly, one of your friends pulled you back. "Look, merch!" Lhea pointed out. "Let's go, I need to buy something for my brother," Liv added. You nodded, hoping this distraction would help take your mind off Lando.

You rushed back to the hotel, eager to have a proper hangout with your friends. One of your drinks still in hand, you sipped while scrolling through your phone. As you reached the hotel, you paused to put your phone away, ensuring it was secure inside your jacket before continuing. Just as you were about to take another sip of your drink, you accidentally bumped into someone, spilling half of it.

Looking down at your clothes, you cursed under your breath, seeing your white top stained. That’s when you noticed the person in front of you. As you looked up to apologize, your mouth went dry and your eyes widened. It was him— Lando Norris, with the same curls and a small bandage over the bridge of his nose. Fuck. "Fuck," you muttered.

Snapping out of your daze, you apologized frantically, setting what was left of your drink aside to prevent further spills. You took in the sight of Lando's shirt, realizing it was much more soaked than yours. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going and I didn't see you," you stuttered, eyes darting around for something to wipe the stain that was beginning to dry on Lando's shirt. The embarrassment kept you from meeting his gaze.

Unbeknownst to you, Lando was watching your flustered state with an amused smile. All doubts about you vanished from his mind, you didn't seem like a bad person, just a very awkward one. He observed you removing your slightly stained jacket causing his eyes to widen slightly as you offered it to him, seeing you in just your top.

"Um, I don't have a handkerchief or a towel with me, so you can use this to wipe the stain off. Again, I'm really sorry," you said, still avoiding eye contact. Lando raised a brow, thinking you looked kinda cute in your flustered state, arm outstretched with the jacket.

Just as you were about to pull your arm back, assuming he wouldn't take it, he gently accepted the jacket. "Thanks," he said. You couldn't decipher his tone and dared not look at his face, fearing he might be angry. With a slight bow, you grabbed your drink and quickly headed for the elevator, heart racing.

You opened the door to your hotel room, huffing and running a hand through your hair as you tried to shake off the embarrassment from earlier. Lhea stepped out of the bathroom, her eyes widening at the sight of you in such a messy state—your white top stained, hair slightly disheveled, and on the brink of tears. "Oh my god. Y/N, are you okay?" she asked, rushing to you and gently placing her hands on your shoulders to check if you were hurt."No!" you exclaimed, gently shoving past your friend towards the bathroom. You stripped out of your stained top, leaving you in your bra, and splashed water on your face. "God, I've made a fool of myself!"

"Okay, slow down. What happened?" Lhea asked, leaning against the bathroom door. "I spilled my drink," you began, sitting at the edge of the bathtub. "And?" Lhea urged you to continue. "I spilled it on Lando," you said, covering your face in shame, your voice muffled.

"Oh shit," Lhea cursed. She left for a moment and returned with one of your tops, handing it to you. "Here, get changed and I'll pack your bikini. Let's head to the beach. I'm sure that'll cheer you up," she said with a reassuring smile, which you reciprocated. "You're officially the best," you said as you took the top from her.Lhea blew you a kiss. "Don't tell Liv you said that, though," she laughed. "Yeah, yeah" you responded with a grin.

I’ve basically consumed all thirteen chapters. and then i got mad there’s not more.

and it made me smile so freaking much. and I’m only admitting this because i don’t take the time to do so, and I want to make sure you don’t do the same. because fuck guys (gn) we need to read our stuff more. we need to enjoy the thing we poured our heart into—cause it’s good. it’s so good. we were the first fan of it before anyone else, and you forget some of the beauty you leave in it. you replace the good with remembering typos and wrong punctuation. and you forget the gorgeous lines, the funny dialogue and the foreshadowing you weave in. so, take this as a hint, go read your work. celebrate you, enjoy what you spent time thinking up and doing the scary thing of sharing! it’s worth it, I promise!!

— The sounds of the ocean waves mingled with the chatter of beachgoers, somehow calming you. Normally, crowded places were something you hated, but today, the noise was a welcome distraction. "YN, are you sure you're okay?" Liv's voice pulled you out of your thoughts for the thousandth time. You nodded at her with a smile. "I think so. Being here is nice," you replied.

Just as Liv was about to say something, Lhea walked up from the water, finally joining you. "Oh, how I've missed the beach!" she exclaimed. You laughed, "Like you didn't go to the beach just a month ago." "Yeah, yeah. So, what's next?" Lhea asked, glancing at Liv, who was unusually quiet, busy typing on her phone.

"Oh, um, I don't know," Liv responded, sounding a bit suspicious— at least to Lhea. "Liv," Lhea sat down beside her, trying to peek at her phone. "Lhea, stop being so nosy!" Liv giggled, pulling her phone away. "Stop hiding. What do you have planned?" Liv rolled her eyes, glanced at you briefly, then back at her phone before finally looking at Lhea.

"Okay," she took a deep breath and turned towards both of you. "As you may know, my brother is a huge F1 fan and—" Before she could finish, Lhea interrupted the moment she heard F1. "No, absolutely not! Especially not the McLaren paddock or whatever. Did you not just hear YN's disaster of a third encounter with one of their drivers?" You glared at Lhea and slapped her thigh gently.

"Oh, come on! It's a waste not to use the tickets my brother worked so hard for," Liv pleaded. "Why can't he use them?" you asked. Liv shrugged, "He's busy with work again. Besides, he's willing to give them to us. Please!"

Lhea and Liv turned to you for an answer. "I'm down. I won't let some guy ruin our time here," you said. Liv squealed with excitement and quickly pulled you into a hug. Lhea huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "Just a moment ago, you said you didn't want to ever see him again," she reminded you. You smiled apologetically at her.

ｄｉｎｇ . . .

Liv pulled away and said, "I'm gonna go get something to drink." As she left, you checked the notifications on your phone. There were tons from different apps, but one caught your attention. Your eyes widened as you read the notification. "Oh my fucking god," you gasped, causing Lhea to scoot closer to see. "What the fuck?" she said, equally surprised. "So, does this mean he's not entirely pissed at you?" You were too shocked to respond, just staring at the screen in disbelief.

Lando liked your post.

What does that mean? The question kept repeating inside your head as you and Lhea headed back to the hotel room. As you reached your floor, you were immediately greeted by a familiar face. Lhea remained composed as she glanced at you before the two of you started walking past him, acknowledging him with a nod.

"Uh, wait!" He called out. You stopped and turned around, exchanging a glance with Lhea. He joined you, carrying your things. You turned to Lando with a small, nervous smile. "Yes?" you asked.

He walked over and handed you a black paper bag. Not wanting to be rude, you accepted it. "Thank you," you said, giving a slight bow.

"Uh, no problem. I couldn't get the stain off your jacket, so I got you a new one," he said with a wide smile.

"Oh my, you didn't have to. Really. It was my fault anyway," you replied, failing to contain your smile. Your heart raced as you heard his slightly high-pitched laugh.

"So, does this mean you're not angry about earlier?" you asked, fidgeting with the paper bag. "Mad? No, no. It was a little amusing, if I'm being honest," he chuckled. Your face heated up before you found yourself laughing as well. "So you think it was hilarious when I was losing my shit and on the brink of crying?" you raised a brow, a hand on your hip, trying to seem intimidating.

"Yes— I mean! No, no," he stifled a laugh. You faked a sigh and shook your head. "So this is how celebrities truly are outside the media," you joked. "Celebrity?" Lando grinned. "Yeah, aren't you a celebrity?" he shrugged. "Yeah, I guess you could say I am a celebrity."

Just as he was about to say another word, he was interrupted by the ringing of his phone. He cursed under his breath and turned it off. "I'll have to go. Uh, I'll see you later?" You nodded and waved him goodbye as he entered the elevator.

You smiled. I guess that means he wasn't entirely pissed at you.
