Blaize | they/he | Minor | List of things I'm nuts about: Star Trek, Six of Crows, Shakespeare, classic literature, The Addams Family, Ghostbusters, musicals, Disney films | Find me on AO3 at Creepypasta_fander | I love getting asks, don't be shy
Female rage in shakespeare like 'i would eat his heart in the market place' 'take my defiance! Die, perish' 'yet have we some revenge' 'in rage, Juno-like' 'i will to him and pluck out his eyes' 'let him that makes but trifles of his eyes first hand me' 'Princes and Counties!' not to mention Lady M, Regan, Margaret of Anjou in Richard iii. So much popular media today still can't even pass the bechdel test when shakespeare literally got it four entire centuries ago
"That's mostly Gomez insisting to leave more and more to his wife in an angry voice."
Gomez's poor lawyer: Mr Addams, please-
Gomez: MI QUERIDA DESERVES THE HOUSE!
The lawyer: Mr Addams-
Gomez: Give her the house!
The lawyer: Mr Addams, there's nothing left! You've already insisted on giving her the house and the cat and the plants and the land. All you have is the clothes on your back
Gomez:
Gomez: Give her those too
Gomez and Morticia Addams got divorced. I woke up mortified and with a sense of inexplicable dread.
I think Kuwei would like to decorate with Ayden. Cos as well as being a remembrance of his dad, it's also a remembrance of his culture? So it makes it less sad, maybe?
Plus, Ayden gets so excited about it and I think that enthusiasm would make Kuwei really happy
We should give Shu Han and Fjerda some of their own holidays. Like, cause Fjerdan has a completely different religious deal going on and then Shu Han is based on East Asia so maybe it'd be cool to put in like saint festivals. Or maybe they translate the saints as spirits or gods 👀
We so should. I think Fjerda would celebrate Sankta Clauda and Sankta Valentin cos they're mostly harmless (and a spin about Djel can probably be put on them)
But Shu Saints festivals would be SO COOL, omg. Shu Han's quite spiritual, isn't it, so maybe they're more focused on the spirit side of the Saints rather than the, like, godly side. I feel like it would be something surprisingly serious for them, like how serious Novyi Zem is about Sankta Dood
Exactly! It's a day to have fun but also a day to remember the Saints and spirits and what not and I bet you they go all out. Lanterns and whole streets closed down for carnivals or something. Parties late into the night. So much decoration in the temples, just the works

it drives me bonkers the way people don't know how to read classic books in context anymore. i just read a review of the picture of dorian gray that said "it pains me that the homosexual subtext is just that, a subtext, rather than a fully explored part of the narrative." and now i fully want to put my head through a table. first of all, we are so lucky in the 21st century to have an entire category of books that are able to loudly and lovingly declare their queerness that we've become blind to the idea that queerness can exist in a different language than our contemporary mode of communication. second it IS a fully explored part of the narrative! dorian gray IS a textually queer story, even removed from the context of its writing. it's the story of toxic queer relationships and attraction and dangerous scandals and the intertwining of late 19th century "uranianism" and misogyny. second of all, i'm sorry that oscar wilde didn't include 15k words of graphic gay sex with ao3-style tags in his 1890 novel that was literally used to convict him of indecent behaviour. get well soon, i guess...
read literature. be present. make love. make tea. write a poem. cry. watch a sappy movie that makes you want to throw things at it. paint your nails. cook something. call your best friend. learn an instrument. wonder. take a bath. go for a walk. lie down on the grass. listen to the entirety of ur favorite album from 2016. take pics of sunsets. ponder. shamelessly dance in your room. curl up on your bed. make endless wishes to the stars twinkling in the midnight sky. think about nothing. think about everything. think about things so hard that you barely remember what happened moments ago and why you’re feeling the way you do
