#BLOG POST 1# 慢慢来: take it easy

好久不见 Tumblr! Long time no see! 

好久不见！Long time no see, Tumblr!

I took a long break from documenting my study journey, because I felt overwhelmed. “Why overwhelmed? by what”, you may ask. I think there are many reasons...

1) Comparing: I’ve started to compare myself to others, other language learners and it made me feel bad about myself, because I could not always be as hardworking as them, my grades/scores from tests were lower or not that ✨ outstanding ✨ and this made me doubt myself. Started to feel I am D U M B. NOW: I do not compare myself with others though. If I compare, I compare my past self with me N O W. The healthiest thing I did for myself (besides workouts).

2) Consumptionism: many of my study ig, study blogs are full of new stationery, equipment and I got the urge to buy things I do not actually need... But also, I’ve started to feel bad that I can not afford some of the things or that some of the stuff is not available in my country/town. I also wasted quite a lot of money on things that I used maybe once or twice and now these things are under dust. What a waste sigh... NOW: I am trying to sell all of the things I will not use or simply give it back to someone in need~ 

3) Some of the apps, their algorithms drive me crazy and I got myself into the trap, when I thought that LIKES and number of FOLLOWERS define me. What a CLOWN, right? 

NOW: But no worries, no more clown vibe~ I am healthier! I don’t give a .. I mean, I don’t mind like count or followers count. These do not make me worse/better~ Even tho many people follow me, I am grateful but no more feel pressured by it! 

4) Rush: Because we are living in a digital era, everything is F A S T. And I thought I need to be fast too, like learn language in 2 year, otherwise people will start to think I am a piece of :poop: 

Thankfully, there are always my dear Chinese friends that wake me up from this mindset and tell me 慢慢来, which means “take it easy”, “slow down”.

CLIMATE CHANGE | 🇨🇳 NEWS |

I was reading an article in Chinese about climate changes and how it will influence sports. I found there very useful phrases that I wanted to share with you! You can use them during HSK 5 writing section (I think :D)  I do not post pinyin and meaning of words, everything is on the website (I suggest to sing up for it, it’s for free!)  ARTICLE (click)

I am a Chinese language student at BNU! 👩‍🎓  I’ve finished my first 3 weeks at Beijing Normal University - I am preparing myself with the language, so next September (2022) I can start my PhD studies in Sociology 🎉
