Dod a hwn yn ei ôl - ymddengys bod Prifysgol Aberystwyth am gau Neuadd Pantycelyn wedi’r cyfan. Ond mae UMCA am barhau i frwydro.
Bringing this back because have received word that Aberystwyth University has made a u-turn and has decided to close Pantycelyn after all. But the students are carrying on the fight.
Pantycelyn - Lewys Wyn
“Hawl yw cynnal iaith ein gwlad / yn wyneb grymoedd nerthol / fe safwn innau'n erbyn brad / a geiriau gwag prifysgol”
Dyma gân gan Lewys Wyn (Yr Eira) a ysgrifennwyd fel ymateb i benderfyniad awdurdodau Prifysgol Aberystwyth i gau unig neuadd breswyl Gymraeg y brifysgol, Neuadd Pantycelyn, a hynny heb fawr o gyfiawnhad, ymgynghori nac unrhyw barch tuag at yr iaith Gymraeg a’r gymuned o fyfyrwyr Cymraeg sydd yno. Neuadd Pantycelyn - gyda'i phensaernïaeth gymunedol ddelfrydol, yw canolbwynt bwrlwm diwylliant a chymdeithas o fyfyrwyr Cymraeg ym Mhrifysgol Abersytwyth. Byddai cau'r neuadd hanesyddol hon a gwasgaru'r myfyrwyr Cymraeg i ddatblygiad newydd gostus - sydd yn gwbl anaddas ar gyfer anghenion y gymuned Gymraeg, yn lladd y gymuned euraidd, fyw o fyfyrwyr o Gymry ifanc dros nos - cymuned sydd angen cael ei gwarchod. Oblegid, Pantycelyn yw cadarnle'r iaith Gymraeg yn y brifysgol a byddai ei chau hi yn gwbl hunllefus i'r Gymraeg ac i’r myfyrwyr sydd yn dymuno profi bywyd prifysgol drwy'r iaith.
Cefnogwch yr ymgyrch a safwch gyda'r gymuned o fyfyrwyr Cymraeg ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth er mwyn sicrhau parch, chwarae teg tuag at y Gymraeg. Hoffwch y dudalen ar Facebook, dilynwch yr ymgyrch ar Twitter ac arwyddwch y ddeiseb!
A song written by Lewys Wyn (Yr Eira) in response to the decision by Aberystwyth University to close down the only Welsh halls of residence, Neuadd Pantycelyn. This was a decision made with next to no justification, open consultation or any respect towards the Welsh language and the community of young Welsh speaking students there. Pantycelyn Halls - with its ideal communal architecture, is at the heart of the hustle and bustle of the culture and community of Welsh students found at Aberystwyth University. Closing this historical hall and effectively scattering the Welsh students to an expensive new development that is completely unsuitable for the Welsh community’s needs would effectively kill the golden community of young Welsh speaking students overnight - a community that needs to be protected. For Pantycelyn is the stronghold of the Welsh language at the university and closing it would be disastrous for the Welsh language at the university and to the students – old and new, who wish to live through the Welsh language at university. Support the campaign and show your solidarity with the Welsh community at Aberystwyth University and ensure that the Welsh language is shown the respect and care it deserves by liking the page on Facebook, following the campaign on Twitter and by signing the petition here!

Yr Anhaeddiannol - Dan Amor Oddi ar yr albym 'Neigwl', allan rwan ar Recordiau Cae Gwyn From the new album 'Neigwl', out now on Cae Gwyn Records A few people have asked as to the meaning of the lyrics, here's a translation: The Undeserving Hold your to ear to the ground friend There’s an orange shadow in the empty station Your finger draws a picture of the houses In the warm white sand beneath your feet The blue gold island remote The tide coming in too far The circle I walk everyday Old bridge, church, square and street You deserve these things my friend Heath of green hiding the hill Month of March gives its song to May Stones in a circle in the empty orsedd* Skin of spring, voice of summer Bite of winter in your words, poet The circle I walk everyday Old bridge, church, square and street *orsedd: (mutated from Gorsedd): Gorsedd Stones are groups of standing stones constructed for the National Eisteddfod of Wales. They form an integral part of the druidic Gorsedd ceremonies of the Eisteddfod. The stones can be found as commemorative structures throughout Wales and are the hallmark of the National Eisteddfod having visited a community. Not to be confused with 'orsaf' (mutated from gorsaf) in the songs first verse, meaning station
