Shield of the Old Kings
Forged when the race of men was young in the world, and the land still shook from the blows of the Old World, the Shield of Kings was made to bind man together, to stand against the ancient world.
Bound in hard iron, the ancient oak of this shield gleams with a silver light. A great emerald shines in its centre.
‘They who takes up this mantle shall bind men to them. They will now and be led unto glory.’

A Handaxe of Alfoor
Blessed by priests of the King of dwarf gods, crafted in the forges of the Smiths of Clangs Carak, this simple tool is perfect for chopping wood or limbs.
Prized by travellers of the mountain folk, such tools are gifted to those on leaving their Holds.

Had great fun with this little sketch. Enjoying showing singles colours oh my art at the moment. Feel the focus on the bronze and gold inlay and metalwork really adds to the feel of the piece. It is also helping me get better with pencils for shading.

Without the podcasts and long car journeys I would have no chance.
It's fucking WILD to me how some people follow Critical Role. Like. How? Where do you pull all your time from? What eldritch being have you sworn allegiance to to grant such boons of time?
The first campaign of Critical Role has a greater run time than THE ENTIRE PAST THIRTY YEARS OF THE SIMPSONS.
Just process that. You could run Critical Role and The Simpsons simultaneously and you would still run out of Simpsons before you finished Critical Role.
That is insane. That is too much time to comprehend.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOWWWWW

The resting place of the Prison of Aerilax
Far north, on a ice crusted finger of land, lies the ruins of a keep. The kingdom of man that built it this strong fortress is a shadow of a memory. Naught remains but cracked stone, and the howling winds. All save one set of skeletal remains.
No snow falls on this stricken form, no matter how a blizzard may howl. A sword, a horrid blade of wicked and dark legend, runs it through, and some strange magic keeps it so.
The hilt, wrapped in a cage like guard is pointed to the sky. Ready for someone, or something, to draw it forth once more.

Note to self, get these brushes.
How to use the Procreate RossBob Wet Oil Paint Brushes (I)
The RossBob Wet Oil Paint Brush Set is available as a stand-alone set and free MegaPack update. It contains more than 30 new wet paint brushes for Bob Ross style oil painting in Procreate 4. I also included my new ROSSBOB color swatches to get you started painting right away!
For beginners, I recommend watching and following one of the numerous Bob Ross videos on YouTube & Co. There are also many good tutorial videos for iPad/Procreate, some of them are quite funny too:
youtube
General Tips
Try out the brushes with different pen pressure, tilt, and stroke speed to get a feeling for their stroke details and dynamics.
Use the brushes in “Wet Paint” mode for smooth, blurred and distant elements. Use “Normal” or “Glaze” mode to add bigger, crisper and more detailed elements to the foreground.
(You can switch between the 3 brush rendering modes using the respective buttons in the “Dynamics” tab of your brush menu.)
Use separate layer groups for the foreground, middle ground, and background.
Think and paint in layers: Build up your colors, structures, and forms step by step, working from dark to light colors.
Paint shadows and highlights on separate layers and try different blending modes:
Highlights: Brighten or Negative Multiply
Shadows: Multiply, Darken or Color Burn
The names of the RossBob brushes only represent their primary function (like painting grass, leaves, water, bark etc.). Feel free to experiment with them, combine different patterns for a natural look, and spot “happy accidents” to elaborate details you find interesting.
Use layer masks to hide areas and work on selected areas while keeping the underlying layers intact (non-destructive painting).
Merge layers when you reach the maximum number of layers for your canvas size.
Make copies of your artwork. If you mess up a certain area, you can always go back and copy details from the previous versions.
The RossBob Brushes
One of the main brushes of the RossBob Set is the PAINT KNIFE. It is a very versatile paint, wet mix, and texture brush, which produces lots of “happy accidents” that can be used as natural structures for your scene.
Use the PAINT KNIFE to paint some basic forms and define areas like the sky, mountains, hills, water etc.:
Use the VEGETATION, SPIKEY, HAPPY SHRUB, BRUEGEL, and HAPPY BUSHES brushes to paint vegetation, bushes, shrubs etc. Mix the different brushes to add variations and create an organic look.

I painted some mountains. Channeling my inner Bob Ross today and enjoying it. I even have an adventure idea which these would work perfectly for.

Aurora of the Rose - Disney Princess turned Witcher.
Based off a rough sketch I made up a few weeks ago. I wanted to turn this lady from the classic Disney film into a deadly hunter of monsters and men.
Kept to the colour scheme as best I could with some minor tweaks as needed.
Kind of happy with how it came out. Anyone know what school she would be in?

Finished my first ever Party Poster!
We are currently playing through CoS, and our heroic band is known as Wolf Hammer
'We are Wolf Hammer and we're here to smash up shit and stuff!'
Top Left to Right:
Bimbol Garump, Halfling Rogue
Kurnan Vass, Dwarf Paladin
Baron Talbot, Human Bard
Inkee Vidar, Mousekin Druid
Ottin Catcher, Human Warlock
Had real fun coming up with this. First piece of this size that I have ever attempted. Critic and constructive criticism most welcome.
I was able to make up party tokens from this art also, which our DM was most happy with.
Just really excited that I finally finished it. :)

Now I just need to start doing this.
I don’t know how anyone else does it but this is how I do it. I’m not sure I can explain it well but with my usual painting technique I completely overwrite or delete the sketch. In this way I simply stack and merge everything together while minimally adding or blending anything. It provides a nice flat easy to read result at the end, I think.

Something different - A personal piece
So when I was in Japan visiting some friends. Someone took a really nice photo of me. I was sketching, and they thought it looked nice and took this.
It was then that I realised that, well, I didn’t really have any nice pictures of myself. It felt nice to see a pic of me, and not be like, oh good lord why. Some might say I have no reason to react like that. I’m 6ft and a bit, I’ve still got my hear, I wear clothes that are suitable (or so I think) and have a bone structure. But I really struggle to actually feel nice about myself, both physically and mentally.
So it was really nice to get a picture of me, from someone I didn’t know, because they thought it looked good. I got to thinking. Maybe you need nice pictures of you Tom. Maybe that is not a crazy narcissistic thing, though I am sure I will be proven wrong about that at some point. You put effort into how you look, and yeah, maybe it would be nice to feel good about me for a change.
So when I was in Tokyo, I signed up for a phototour (really it was just a photoshoot) through Airbnb.
It was sooooo.... fun.
- The moment a stranger said I looked cute.
I got people looking at me, and saying funny, cute, and one time weird things about me and it felt nice. It felt fun. I felt appreciated.
- Probably the hardest picture for me to share.
I’m not big, I’m not swol, I’m not jacked. But I keep myself in good shape, thanks in part to my job. I have never wanted to flaunt whatever physic I have, but it was fun and exhilarating to do it in the moment.
- I felt attractive.
I can look at this photo and not instantly point out the bad points in me. I mean, yeah I can after a short while, I am human after all. But I left something behind last year, something that made me feel bad about myself, and made me feel unattractive, unwanted. So this was deeply healing in a way.
- Joking with the others.
We did it as a group. There were 5 of us, three singles (me in there) and a couple, with a superb photographer. We all got to see how the others posed and went about it, and the photographer was superb. We all learnt so much more about the city then I ever would have wandering about by myself.
- This was something different.
I got to be in photos like this one. Something I never would have thought possible.
- I guess this is me.
This picture here of me smiling baffles my mind. I hate pictures of me smiling. I remember being told growing up that I couldn’t smile right. That I always made photos looked weird when I tried to smile in them. But here I am smiling. Here I am looking happy. I felt happy, and feel happy looking at it now.
So yeah. Thats that. Me finding a way to be more ok with me being me. To trying to be happy with me, because I can’t be anyone else.
Thanks for reading.
I’ll see you around.

My first stab go at a Spacescape. After a good search online I found a concept to work of and just had at it. Thanks to some great custom brushes, I was able to get a load of little effects I like for this. They will help with further projects.
I really like the little space port! I need a name for it though. Going to use it for a Lancers Game. Any suggestions?
