As we ride the waves of change bestowed upon us, we are given the opportunity to learn how to surrender. How to let go of our need to control. This wasn’t my first time losing my job suddenly. So it wasn’t scary for me. But I know it may have been shocking, even traumatic for others. I am here to remind you that you are not alone. There is nothing to fear. Listen to your inner voice and take your time if you need to. Its okay to not be “back to normal” immediately. It’s time we learn to embrace the seasons and cycles of life. There is so much wisdom in nature. Perhaps like flowers we aren’t meant to be in full bloom all the time. How beautiful is it to be able to take the time to turn your attention inwards? To consciously press pause and become aware of our Winter. To allow the space and time to nurture ourselves and our families. Change is the only promised constant in life. Let’s ride the waves instead of swimming against the current. Observe and listen to your inner voice and your body. Be kind to yourself, and to each other. I wonder if you wish you never met me.
I wonder if you ever think of me. Or if you’ve forgotten about me, just a distant memory.
Was I one of many? Or was I something different?
Do you hate me, resent me, wish you were with me?
I’ll never know because I don’t speak to my exes. All my exes know that I have no interest in a friendship.
I never hear from my exes, not now not ever. You were with me once so you know I’m as loyal as they come. You wouldn’t try to cross me, not now and not ever.
Maybe when I die you’ll remember what we had together. Your once upon a love that made you laugh and made you wonder.
What it might be like to settle down like a grown up.

𝓞𝓹𝓮𝓷 𝔀𝓸𝓾𝓷𝓭𝓼 When you have emotional wounds that are still open, you will be able to access those memories like it was yesterday. Post traumatic stress manifests in our subconscious. Most of the time you will be fine. Then something will remind you of the past. Your mind goes on a little trip down memory lane. You begin shallow breathing. Your chest constricts. Your heart starts pounding. You mind feels fuzzy and you’re not able to speak clearly. The rational thinking part of the brain gets switched off and you go into a state of fight or flight. Sound familiar? Anything that gets you into that state is your trigger. Your adrenals begin to release stress hormones and you’re no longer your usual self. That lump in your throat, those yucky feelings that you can’t always name. The anger, the sadness, the madness, the pain. It’s all pointing to what needs to be healed within. Rather than pushing the emotions aside, learn to sit with it. Journal how you feel. Channel the energy into your creative work. Cry. See someone professional to help you let go. You may be using alcohol or drugs to escape as a coping mechanism. Unfortunately this self medicating does not help the healing process. Your body stores emotions. Yin Yoga is a great way to release traumatic energy from our fascia, our connective tissues and muscles. Flashbacks happen for a reason. The memories are coming up for healing. Gift yourself the time to go inwards when you feel ready. Visualise every exhalation helping you to puff out all your nightmares out of your body and into the light for transmutation. Do you know anyone who has been affected by cancer? Have you ever thought about why “organic” might be better for you? Why is it so much more expensive? To be certified organic it means there is no use of pesticides, herbicides, growth regulators (GMOs), antibiotics, or other harmful chemicals to grow the product. A lot more time and effort is needed to grow organic which is why it’s more costly. 𝑯𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉! Throughout our lives we are exposed to loads of harmful chemicals, radiation, and other toxicities. Everything you breathe in, consume, or slather on your body can be affecting you without your knowing. It’s not one bad thing we do that causes cancer. My mum is a cancer (lymphoma) survivor and she was never a drinker or a smoker. Nor did she ever spend long amounts of time in the sun. A lifetime of consumption and exposure can contribute to slowly altering our cells leading us to dis-ease. Did you know Australia has the highest rate of cancer in all of the world? If you check the top 50 countries it’s mainly in the developed world. What are we doing wrong? We only found out in recent years that processed meats is a known carcinogen and red meats a probable carcinogen. Our liver is the second largest organ which processes everything we put into our bodies. I figured out mine was exhausted when I just could not shake off the congestion on my skin. When your internal organs aren’t functioning optimally, your body will try to get your attention. Breakouts, fatigue, fat around your waistline, aches and pains, irritability, injuries, are all little signals that are telling you to look within. Ask yourself “how am I feeling?” Could you choose more whole foods? That’s real, unprocessed, nutrient dense foods. Can you choose organic? Food is the easiest place you can begin to nourish yourself. What do you think you need to give up to give your liver a little break? What can you eat more of that your body will thank you for? 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆, 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒐. Like turning the pages of a book we meet all different characters. Nothing is by chance. You can’t skip any chapters. Some you’ll end up being close to for a short while. Others you will know much longer. Some will love you and some will break you. Allow those who wish to leave to go freely. This is how we ascend. This is how we grow. Walking each other throughout this journey called life. Learning from different faces. Making friends along the way. Some you’ll wish you had more time with. Nothing is permanent. Only change is inevitable. Best friends can turn to strangers and lovers to just a distant memory. If for any reason you weren’t ready to drift apart. Try to give grace. Send love and support from afar. At times you’ll say goodbye to whole groups of people. That’s okay. It means their chapter in your book is over. Perhaps your chapter in their book is over too. Everything happens for our greater good. To build us up to the highest version of ourselves that we can be. However we must heal and transmute our wounds to live a life of purpose, abundance and emotional freedom. There is no such thing as wasted time. Just a collection of moments intertwining to teach us more about ourselves. To help illuminate and brighten our light within.
