I cut an extremely detailed image out of a magazine, and attached it to a background, making the photo look almost magical as bubbles fly around her and her dress flows in the wind. Accidental ad, by the way, I wasn't trying to promote chanel perfume, they just had an amazing magazine ad I couldn't resist.

I love how this page in my art journal turned out, and when I posted it on my instagram, people seemed to love it, so I thought I would share it on here too. My instagram is the same as my tumblr name (thatoneartblogger) but I post some works on there that don’t make it over here, and vice versa, so please, go check that out and follow me. If I get 250 followers over there, I’ll do a giveaway with one of my paintings, and maybe a surprise bonus.

So, I had this in my ‘reviewed’ pile and didn’t even think about it until I was cleaning and realized, oops, that review never went up on tumblr. So, here it is. Marco Raffine 72 colored pencils, in a metal tin available on amazon for $33.97, which is kind of an oddly specific number, but oh well. Anyway, these pencils are great for beginner/student artists, and the tin they come in is really nice as well. Of all the pencils I’ve tried, I definitely wouldn’t call these my favorite, but for someone just starting out, I would definitely recommend these. There is a wide variety of colors in the set, and are much more affordable than starting out with prismacolors would be. Anyway a link to where they can be found is here. I didn’t use anything to blend the colors in their swatches, i just colored in a box with each color, making it as opaque as possible without using any solvents or additives. There is a wide range of colors in this set, and I do believe anyone using this set can easily create a variety of works without having to grab a pencil from anywhere else, which is definitely a plus, even large packages of colored pencils from some brands will leave you lacking in options, resulting in having orange or yellow skin in your drawing instead of more natural looking shades.

Some attempts of mine with anatomy. I chose to keep it very basic, as I was mostly focused on working on poses and simple figures, which is probably for the best, as I am obviously not terribly skilled at such things. I am rather happy wih my mermaid, though, I used some photos I saw on pinterest as reference, kind of taking bits and pieces of different bodies I saw. I had a friend pose for the body on its knees, and it turned out well enough, barring the arms. the arms are like t-rex arms, way too small for the body. Review of colored pencils to be up this week, I would love if you could follow me, and like/reblog my works!

I’ve tried uploading this post nearly a dozen times now, so here goes with another attempt. I’ve started making and selling jewelry! Bracelets, like these shown in the photos, as well as earrings and necklaces. I have a small container filled with jewelry in my desk now, though I have slowly been selling things as I go. Bracelets are $6, earrings are also $6, and necklaces are $10. Everything is handmade, and shipping in the states is free. Colors and charms do vary, so request what you want, and send me a message if you are interested. Of course, feel free to contact me with any questions, or request a painting commission, or a dreamcatcher, etc. I make and sell a wide variety of things.

The paint is still wet in a few spots, but I did this wall decor like painting on a canvas panel, and have since sold this, as well as two more similar ones, with varying quotes and colored backgrounds. They're $15 each (free shipping in the states, but plus $5 for international) let me know if you're interested, I do commissions! Thanks!

Some watercolor koi I did for a commission. It needed a few touch-ups here and there in this photo, but the finished painting looked great. Don’t forget I do commissioned works, and please contact me if you are interested in bringing a dream piece to life! -Kimberly

Sorry I’ve been so behind lately, no excuses. Anyway, here is a review of another 3D pen! (to be honest, I still have a basket of stuff to work through right now, one unexpected family emergency and suddenly I slack off for a month. Well, here’s my time and devotion back, expect some serious posting to happen). Right, back to the reviewing. The 3D pen in question is this wonderful one by Aerb (link found on the ‘this’ in previous sentence). It is priced at only $59.99, and comes with a cord to plug into the wall, a sample of filament (both pla and abs), the pen, instructions, and a stand for when your pen is not in use. While I can’t say it’s my favorite, necessarily, it’s definitely one I would recommend. The shape of the pen makes it easier to hold, and use for longer periods of time, and is extremely precise with the filament going where you want it too, meaning you can take any coloring page or drawing (I used a page from an adult coloring book I use when I’m feeling uninspired) and bring it right off the page.

Today I made a dream catcher! This is actually fairly large, (10 inches in diameter) and completely hand made, I'm actually selling these, starting at $15 for smaller ones (4-6inches) and going up from there depending on if there's anything extra wanted attached, like feathers, or beads that are woven into the inside design, or size. This one isn't complete yet, but once it is, it will be $25, and if you're interested, please let me know! I am willing to make customized ones, I made a different one for my mother who is super proud of her native American heritage, and honestly it's comparable to handmade ones I've seen in stores. I'm setting up my etsy still, but please message me on here, or send me an email at [email protected] if you're interested, I also make jewelry and sell paintings as well, plus much more! -Kimberly

Spring is the time for weddings, and here is another thing I did for a wedding, that I actually just finished. It has real swarovski crystal accents and was done in a bright aqua with medium brown on the edges and the fluer de lis appliques, to fit the southern rustic theme of the wedding. Hope you enjoy! And don't forget, my commissions are open, and I would love to hear feedback, as well as work to create your dream art prices! Ps, I'll have another post tomorrow with a review of another 3D pen! Sorry for bring so behind guys!

Here is a painting I did for a wedding around this time last year. I placed artifical flowers that matched the wedding colors on the corners to frame the canvas, and painted the couple's name in the center, so they would always have a reminder of their special day, as well as have a specially designed painting to have at the reception.

Hey guys, sorry I haven’t uploaded, at all this week, I have barely had the chance to even look at anything art related, let alone work on any of my art. I was out of state the past week, due to a family emergency, but I’m back with a massive review post, with some of my favorites art related products, and where I got them from. Sorry in advance for the ridiculously long post and I hope you enjoy!
Okay, lets get my favorite out of the way first, before everyone runs away at the length of this: Washi Tape. Who isn’t addicted to washi tape right now? It’s like the internet has found it’s new favorite crafting item, and I got to say, I’m totally aboard the washi train. Molshine has a set of 22 rolls for $19.98. That’s less than $1 per roll, and there is a cat print one. Need I say more? This brand has so many different sets of washi available on their Amazon page, and I want to buy them all. The set I got can be found here, but don’t limit yourself to just this set, get them all. Go!!! Are you back from buying washi tape? Awesome! Let’s move on then. Now, every painter needs a good set of paint brushes, and my favorite detail paintbrushes I got from Bianyo here. For only $12.99 you can get 15 brushes, that are great for fine details, and thin lines. When I’m not needing fine lines, I use a paintbrush set by Feathers that are super lightweight, and great for painting for long periods of time. You can find them here for only $19.99, and they come with 17 brushes, a storage case (great for travel, but lets be real, I tossed mine in my storage bench, there’s no room for that in my desk), as well as a gift box and a bonus plastic palette. Of course, I can’t use paintbrushes without the paint, and while before I claimed Golden Acrylics were my favorite acrylic paints, I found these amazing heavy bodied paints, that were inexpensive, but still great quality. The Golden paints were still really good, but I had tried their fluid acrylics, which is different than heavy bodied. Anyway, Mont Marte makes a set of 36 heavy bodied acrylic paints, that can be found here for $35.95 that I totally recommend, like, I want to purchase multiple sets just so I never run out. There are swatches of these paints attached above in a photo, as well as the two sets of brushes, and everything else I’m including in this review as well. Actually, there is one item I don’t have a photo of, and it is the easel I’m using, and its from Bianyo (I get a lot of their products, and love most of them, doesn’t that say something about that brand? Go check it out!!). It’s aluminum, lightweight, and folds up into a small travel case so it’s great for if you want to paint outside, of nature or something, though I honestly just use mine inside, I’m not an outdoors person, unfortunately. Anyway, that can be found here for $18.99. Moving on from the painting supplies, every artist needs a good set of fineliner pens. And of course, everyone loves and recommends the Sakura Micron pens, and I have to say, they are kind of awesome. I got my set of 11 from Meeden on Amazon for $21.99 here. Now, colored pencils, my favorites, that aren’t crazy expensive are the Marco Renoir colored pencils. You can find them from many different places, but I got mine here from Huhuhero for $39.98, though like I said, they can be found in other places, for varying prices. I store mine in my 3 drawer organizer from Swinsonbox, you can fit up to 92 colored pencils per drawer, and it’s only $21.99, so I like it, though I think there are probably better options available elsewhere, you can look at the one I have here. And that’s all for now. So many reviews. Hope you can find at least one item here that you like, and if you try any of these out, please share your thoughts with me!
